Speaker 2 (00:11):
I Woo, oh, my God
yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Mookie, mookie,
mookie, mookie yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I'm the life of the
crew of this big family and the
music's speaking on the unions.
You're the future, still tryingto hide the lack of students.
I'm too young.
I ain't even speaking your name.
There's nothing in your heart, but we keep it the same.
It ain't nothing too big tolisten to the rumors.
It's just the way we try andbuild our lives.
It's the way we try and buildour lives.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, and welcome
back to the conversation that
never ends.
This is Timeless Talk.
I'm your host, aj.
We have a guest over here on myright, a big Dodger fan like
myself Got my boy, serge, righthere.
You know what I'm saying.
Y'all know what to do really.
Show them the appreciation, salute, yeah, cheers brother.
Yes, sir, right here, you knowI'm saying.
Y'all know what to do.
Where they show them, show themthe appreciation.
(03:09):
Yeah, cheers brother.
Yes, sir.
Oh, yeah, we're happy you'rehere, man, and honestly, bro,
it's a big deal, you know.
I mean, obviously, if you guyshaven't already can tell, but
for those that are watching us,not listening to us, today's
topic is going to be about thedodgers winning the 2024 world
series so again hey, man, aboutfucking time to win a real one,
right, as they say.
Right, I mean, hey, pretty hypedabout that.
(03:30):
So, uh, just so you guys know,I know, uh, we got furious
missing today.
He actually couldn't make it.
It's okay, he said, becausehe's not really the biggest
dodger fan, so he didn't feellike he could have brought too
much to the show today.
He did play the sport in highschool when he was younger.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
We were going to talk
about that.
It's about the sport man Likingthe sport.
Obviously, whatever team it isyou root for, it's a matter of
just enjoying sports, period noI agree, so he couldn't be here
today, but he wanted to.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
But he, he sends
every, he sends everybody the
audience and listeners his love.
Um, but yeah, going forward.
Uh, how do you feel about uhhaters out there that claim the
dodgers 2020 world series didn't, doesn't, doesn't count and
that there's an asterisk therebecause they didn't play a full
season?
Speaker 5 (04:17):
I want to talk about
that before we get into how we
won this year or how they wonthis year well, you know what I
mean truthfully, hey, hey, itwasn't a full season and they
cut it short Because of COVID.
You know what?
They played a lot of gamesback-to-back, a lot of, you know
.
There's still injuries, there'sstill everything else.
Yeah, you know, every teamplayed the same amount of games.
(04:40):
I agree.
So who ended up on top top?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
call it what you want
, you know, I still think it's a
win no for sure, you know, Iagree, because then let's be
honest, okay, so if the dodgersdidn't win it, then what?
Who didn't really matter whichteam was going to win it,
because they're all going to getaccused.
The same thing.
I mean traditionally.
You know what I mean yes, itisn't.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
It isn't what we all
kind of expect with every you
know world series.
But yeah the reality is thatthey went out there, they, they
played X amount of games andthey still came out on top and
managed to win another WorldSeries.
You know what I count it?
It's a notch on my belt.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
I do too For sure.
I count it too.
No, bro, I mean, it's a realchampionship.
You can't fake that.
If someone else would have wonit, I'm sure there would be less
haters.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
There would be less
people saying it didn you know.
It's like yeah, there's people, just that it wasn't their team,
their team don't because if itwas the other way around.
You know it's like yeah, yeah,we won we still.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
It still counts.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
Oh, it counts all of
a sudden because it wasn't the
dodge let the ass, let theastros win, and I bet, guarantee
you, they would have beenscreaming all the texas fans and
I've been oh you talk about wewon.
You know now, you know it iswhat it is sure, it was a
shorter season, but the bottomline is, you know, at the end of
the season, my last pitch gotthrown no, it was on top, so no
exactly we'll take that part.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
We'll take the dub
for what it is, so I'm glad
we're on the same page aboutthat.
I actually agree with you, um,about it counting.
It definitely counts and thehaters can hate and say whatever
they want to say, but at theend of the day, no matter who
won it.
If someone was going to win in2020, someone was going.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
I mean truthfully.
If you want to talk about morecontroversy or anything else, I
mean talk about, you know, theAstros cheating.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
You know, what?
Speaker 5 (06:12):
whether you believe
or not, I think that's a bigger
controversy than a shorterseason.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
That's for all the
fucking, that's for all the sad.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
We can do the same
thing.
We can throw it right back atyou.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
No, 100%.
That's for all the sad, fucking, shitty ass.
If there's any left Houstonfans out there, which I know
there is, fucking Astros.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
Texas love their God.
I'll say it right now Fuck it,Fuck you, Altuve Dude, I can't
stand him.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
I can't stand him.
I don't think anybody likesthat guy, bro.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
He's a good ball
player, but every time I see him
, he's a little bitch, he's acheating little motherfucker.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Look, I agree with
you.
What I have to say about thatdude is that he kind of earned
that for himself, though.
Demeanor how you carry yourselfright.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Dude.
That's another reason why Ican't stand Machado, and you're
a fucking cheater.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Him actually ate a
lot of his own words recently,
and I'm glad he did too.
Punk motherfucker.
You know, machado, I remembersomeone a fan posted this.
He was at a dodger game.
I think the podgers werevisiting the dodgers, they were
playing, and I guess he said, um, something about oh you, you
signed the wrong deal or youwent to the wrong team.
The fan was telling him thatand he was like no, no, I'm
right where I'm supposed to be.
(07:20):
And the fans like got likeexpensive seats, his
motherfuckers, right by thebatter's box, on the on the away
side, like baseline tickets,right.
And he's talking to machadowhich, how it looks back at him,
he's like I guarantee you, Ipromise you, we're gonna win a
championship before you guys.
Well, that didn't age too well, buddy.
You know what?
He gets a trombone too, fuckingmachado.
(07:41):
Congrats, matter of fact, hegets the trombone and he also
gets this Congratulations.
You played yourself, did he not?
He played himself 100%.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
He's done that a lot.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean, the bottom
line is hey why would you make
that kind of statement?
Speaker 5 (07:53):
But I'm not going to
lie, he's got to be one of the
best third basemen ever.
Fucking played the game.
His bat is phenomenal.
He just got the worst goddamnattitude possible.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
He's just got the
worst, goddamn attitude possible
?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
No, he does, I agree,
and God bless the Padres.
I'm not a Padre fan, by nomeans, nope.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Not even a little bit
.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
But you know what.
That team has come a long way.
I mean they're a contender now.
I mean, if you look at thePadres now as a unit, you know,
and is Machado leading the pack?
I mean with Pati Statis, whatever the fuck his name is, I
mean he's another guy, thatthat's.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
You know, he's, he's
he's evil behind the bat.
You know and and you knowthey're going to contend,
they're going to be on top, they're going to be, they're
definitely good.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
His attitude's just
wrong.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
And that's my big B
for going back to Walter, it
goes back to what we weretalking about how you carry
yourself, demeanor.
It's a lot right.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
Absolutely no, but
truthfully, I mean, it goes back
to the same thing.
As far as you know, they justgot the wrong attitude.
You got a lot of players and Ithink that's kind of one of the
downsides to baseball.
It kind of lost that gentlemanthing.
It is a business, I get it,it's all about winner take all.
But you see the attitudes andthey're coming out here and it's
(09:11):
a shame because some of theseguys are phenomenal players,
phenomenal athletes and they'vegot a lot of talent, just the
wrong attitude.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I agree, and that can
hurt them the most right there,
absolutely.
But yeah, this episode isobviously not about that, guys,
we're not going to focus toomuch on that.
But it's a nice little tidbitto kind of add to the baseball
theme of the episode, right, um,but yeah, man, uh, before we
get into the obviously theobvious uh, 2024 championship
dodgers.
What got you into baseball inthe first place?
Did you used to play the sportback in the day?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
yes, surge, or what's
your?
Speaker 3 (09:40):
history with the
sport and why are you a fan?
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Baseball's always
been probably my love of all
sports.
I mean, I like football, likeeverybody else, but baseball
just seems like it just was abetter fit.
I remember being a little rugrat.
My dad would take us to theDodger Stadium.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
And we used to pay, I
think, three bucks and a
quarter.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Man For the
nosebleeds back then.
You know that's a thing of thepast.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Now my dad, you know
we lived down the street from,
you know, from Dodger Stadium wewere right there.
We were down the street.
It was cool.
We used to go out there and I'dbe all excited about getting my
little Cooley Coo or my littlefrickin' Dodger Peanuts and shit
and a drink and just watchingthe Dodgers play.
Way back with Lasorda.
You're talking, you know um.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Steve Gardner on
first, ronce on third you had.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Landruks and Baker
and you know all the players
dude it was.
It was a great time.
It was a great time forbaseball and I really enjoyed it
.
Got to see a lot of legends.
Man, yeah, I did, I definitelygot to see a bunch of people
come up and, um, that's awesome.
You know, like Hershiser noware.
Now, you know he's commentatingwatch, I used to watch him
pitch.
I was there for uh, for whatyou call it um valenzuela's
(10:46):
first um day out.
You know, so it was cool seeinga lot of these players.
You know he's well missed andif this one was for him you know
this this, this pennant greatum he's.
He was definitely one of thegreats and deserves to have his
name recognized no 100.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I agree man in
valenzuela, this win was for him
Right, 100% was for him itlooks that way, you know what he
was a phenomenal pitcher dude.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
To see that boy pitch
, you know like for reals on the
field.
You know there's little eyesgoing in the sky.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Yeah, it was a trip
Him looking up for every pitch
he had control of that ball.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Nah, that's okay, man
, but you know what?
Speaker 5 (11:25):
It was great yeah no
you're good, it was really cool.
You know, like I said, SteveGarvey, Ron Say, you know a
bunch of these other guys.
It was a lot of fun it was alot school obviously, all the
way up from t-ball and you knowthe way up and stuff and what
(11:48):
position were you?
um, I, I did try pitching alittle bit, wasn't you know?
It was fine, but I don't thinkI had the control or I never
gave it an opportunity todevelop right.
Excuse me, um, but um, myfavorite position was infield.
I played a little, a littleshortstop, even a little bit on
first base.
But it was all over the place.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Yeah, wow, you know
what I was too.
I played a little bit myself.
I started off T-ball.
And then after T-ball obviouslyyou know coach pitch, coach's
pitch right, and then eventuallyyou know playing against other
kids my size, my age.
I obviously still play the kids, the kids my age, but coach's
pitch was kind of like I feltlike it was fake.
So it was t-ball to me, eventhough I know it's just teaching
(12:28):
the fundamentals.
You got to start looking backon it.
I was like now I know why theyteach you those things.
Now I'm old enough tounderstand, like you know,
putting the barrel on the balland obviously being able to
swing in timing and all that youhave to do that in increments.
I feel like if someone justpicks up a bat not that you
can't pick it up and learn it asan adult, but I feel like if
you grow with the sport, you endup being a better player in the
(12:49):
long run, in my opinion.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Well, absolutely,
especially when you do it from a
young age.
That goes for any sport.
I mean look at Packer Wood'skid, not to go off subject, but
look at his.
He grew up around golfing.
Now he's phenomenal.
So when you do that for someonein baseball, yeah, you know,
it's the same thing.
You know they learn thefundamentals, the rules you know
, and and just they are at homeout in that field, wherever the
(13:12):
ball goes, where the ball goesnext, you know stuff like that.
They know the rules and the insand outs and yeah, it makes, I
think, for a better playerperiod no, absolutely I agree.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Well, like I was
saying in your co-signing, it
develops the fundamentals better.
Better, you know what I mean.
You just develop better and youactually know the sport and by
the time you're able tounderstand it, you already kind
of have the muscle memory.
The muscle memory, you knowwhat I mean.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Absolutely, Once you
have that foundation, I think
you know especially when you gointo.
You know kind of that organizedball and you start playing
college.
You start playing your higherend.
You know levels, you're reallyjust more effective.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
I agree, cause look
doing the having that foundation
, like you just excuse me justput it, I, um, I did decent in
high school, did a little better.
I didn't really play collegeball.
I didn't go to college so Ididn't play like you know for
for the community college, LikeI probably should have.
That would have helped a lotmore honestly.
But I have a fun fact, littlestory when I used to live in
(14:10):
texas I actually went out forthese open tryouts they had for
triple a ball club out therethat were affiliated with um,
the rangers they actually havethere's a triple a club out
there.
Yeah, they're called the um theround rock express.
For those that don't know, they're a triple a affiliate to
the uh texas rangers.
At least at time they were.
I don't know if they still arenow.
They might not be anymore.
I double-checked that but atthe time they were an affiliate
(14:31):
right.
And they had open tryouts andbro I made it as a catcher
through all the way down to thelast round.
Bro, I didn't make the team,unfortunately, but I, almost I
was this close man to playingprofessional ball, even if it's
at a AAA level.
That's pretty fucking good forsome guy that just played a
little bit of high school balland never did rookie ball, never
(14:52):
did college ball.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
That's pretty good to
get it that far in the tryouts
that's just a walk-on tryout,bro.
That's fucking amazing actually.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, so I lost it.
To the guy that had moreexperience than me, you know,
cheers to him.
But to the guy that had moreexperience than me, cheers to
him, but you know what.
My hat off to anyone who wantsto try catcher.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
That's a rough
position.
I don't think they get enoughcredit.
Shit, my knees couldn't handleit yeah it's a lot Fucking,
being down and being able to hopup and throw someone out at
second.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
I love that shit.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
And you really do
have as catcher.
It's your team Outside of thepitcher.
You really have command of theentire team.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
And that's why a lot
of them especially their vocal
they're captains.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
As they should be,
because they see the whole
diamond.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
You see the whole
infield's defense.
You see the outfield's defense.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Not only do you have
to know the game, you also have
to know your opponent, becauseevery single batter you know
this guy loves inside so we'regoing to pitch him outside.
He can't hit a curve.
He doesn't like fastballs.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
You do your homework.
A lot of homework comes withthat position.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yes, so my hat off to
them.
You know, a catcher is, youknow, a vital part of the team,
and I think a good catcher isjust far in between.
So my hat off to you, man.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
If that's the case, I
appreciate that.
I made it pretty decently far.
But, like I said, the guy thatand I don't say this with malice
you know, good for him.
Congratulations to you if youactually are still on the team
or made it or not.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
I didn't really catch
his name, but yeah, we're
probably watching his assplaying out there amongst the
greats.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
He probably is not
amongst the greats man who knows
Probably is but you know, kudosto him.
He did have more experiencethan me.
He, I think he did play rookieball.
I spoke to him after.
He was actually prettyimpressed with my performance.
So was the coach, the coachesof that team.
I thought it was pretty cool toeven be considered.
And he's like man, you made itfurther than a lot of walk-ons.
Whatever you should go, becausethey don't really take walk-ons
(16:35):
too seriously unless youactually have a skill set.
You know what I mean.
I mean.
But the fact that you can dothat is cool, that they even
allow that opportunity to be athing.
You know what I mean.
Normally you would imagine theywould expect you to have.
It would be a requirement, right to have college ball under
your belt, rookie ball, something like that, you know.
But I think rookie ball isactually after you get signed.
But anyway, to even have thatunder your you have to at least
(16:57):
have some college experience.
I would imagine you know what Imean.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
No, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
They would probably
require that, but the fact that
they allow tryouts like that, that's pretty dope, man, it
sounds like some shit.
Out of a movie Comes this oldsecurity officer old security
officer fucking becomes a ballplayer.
Well, at the time I wasn'tsecurity, though.
I think at the time I wasworking fucking.
This was back in 2013.
I think I was working at aNautica clothing store, bro at
the time.
Man, yeah, man, yeah man.
Back in the day, it was crazy.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Well, you know what?
It's funny?
I had a really close friend andhe played some college ball,
okay.
So one day on the weekend he'slike, hey, what are you doing
tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
And I'm like nothing,
so not a damn thing.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
Yeah.
And he's like, hey, I'm goingto go play some baseball with a
couple friends.
And I'm like, yeah, he need acouple people.
You want to come?
Speaker 3 (17:46):
I'm like, yeah,
absolutely and all these guys
played college.
So it was how was it out therewith them?
Speaker 5 (17:49):
that must have been,
it was a humbling experience,
man I'm sure it was I even goton first for a little bit, you
know, because they obviouslywent to their you know favorite
positions or what they playedand yeah dude.
That guy on third base wouldsend a bullet dude.
I had never caught againstsomeone like that.
There was like no drop to thegoddamn thing.
(18:09):
This guy's arm was a fuckingcannon, he gave you a liner.
Dude, that ball would whiz, dude, and I was like I was even palm
catching it because I wasscared of catching it in the
face.
It was no joke, dude.
This guy was amazing.
His arm was like and he'd sendup just the line it was crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
You only know that if
you play the sport, you only
understand you can hear thelaces travel through the air.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
No, it was amazing,
dude.
It was cool to play with theseguys.
I learned a lot, I had a greattime.
And to see the organized, tosee the talent and their ability
to just play the sport.
And, mind you, we're out therein sweats and cleats and a
T-shirt just having a good time.
We were playing, it wasn't likefor a win.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
And so I'm sure it
wasn't their 100% and it was
still impressive, and just youknow just to watch.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I was like okay.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Just to be there and
be a part of it.
You don't suck, man.
It's all good.
You were amongst those that hada little bit more behind under
their belt.
You know what I mean would youlike it over?
There.
Yes, please, actually that'sperfect timing, because you.
You look like you should yeah, okay, I need another one, right?
Um, we're about to move intothe uh, we're about to
transition.
Now over to thank you, sir.
Over to the uh, part of theepisode everybody's been waiting
(19:23):
for.
Obviously, we're going todiscuss the 2024 championship
for the Dodgers.
You know what I'm saying?
We're happy, we're fuckingexcited fans.
It's amazing.
It's only been four fuckingyears since the last one, since
88, if you don't count the lastone, we count the last one,
though.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
I count them every
time.
We don't give a fuck yeahthat's right audience.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
We all agree with you
Me and Serge definitely agree
with you the Dodgers.
Awesome for you guys.
Congratulations.
You know what I'm saying?
You won in 2024.
I'm actually wearing the champ.
I'm wearing a shirt, this shirtthat I'm wearing.
I don't know if the camera cancatch it, I'm actually wearing
the walk-off Grand Slam.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Freddie Freeman, a
pretty dope shirt I saw it
online.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
They put the image of
him walking off base after he
hit that grand slam in game oneof the World Series against the
Yankees Easter.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
They're like a boss I
had to.
I saw that I was like that's amust buy.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
That's a fucking dope
shirt.
I'm obviously wearing thefucking parade hat for those
that know.
So Dodgers baseball man 2024.
Let's talk about and then we'llget into the World Series,
because obviously, winning the2024 championship isn't just
about the playoffs.
Obviously, the playoffs is themost important part of the
season, but getting there was aprocess right.
(20:32):
Remember?
It started with the offseason, the signing of Shohei Ohtani
right which, yeah, I know that'sgot a lot of mix Signing yeah,
trading for Glass now, and thengiving him a fucking extended
deal.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
right, they traded
for him and then giving him a
fucking extended deal, right?
They traded for him and thenthey extended him, right?
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Yes, there's too much
to talk about.
We'll probably just glaze overthose real quick and then get
into the season itself.
I mean Otani's probably thebiggest offseason move yeah.
Besides signing Yamamoto,obviously and signing.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
He kind of came hand
in hand.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
I mean that's a
billion dollars, right there, of
course, and they signedYamamoto too, right.
And then they got Tyler Glassnow, and then all the pieces.
They got Teoscar Hernandez, whoended up paying off as well.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
We had a lot of
injuries.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
A lot of fucking
injuries and starting pitching.
We're going to get into thatright now during the season.
But yeah, man, I mean thosepieces.
How do you think that theyworked?
Obviously, we saw how theyworked out.
Right, I wouldn't necessarilysay the Dodgers bought their
championship, but theydefinitely bought the pieces to
help the championship make it areality.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
I guess you know what
I mean in all truthfulness.
We did spend a lot of money andand, um, you know I'm not going
to deny that and you know youcan say what you want on that,
and your opinion obviously iswhether you're for the me or
Dodger fan, you're like whocares, right, but I, I used to
hate when the Yankees did this.
We were talking about thatearlier, right?
Those guys had a Hall of Famerin every goddamn position they
(21:45):
did, and now the Dodgers havebecome the Yankees, basically.
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
But truthfully.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
I mean, one of the
biggest things and I think the
success of the Dodgers that wasable to do what they did was,
you know what?
The bullpen pulled through.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yes, they did.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
They really supported
our starting pitchers and you
know what, Even when they fellthrough or just fell a little
short, didn't get that sixthinning or even that seventh
inning.
The bullpen stepped up and didtheir job.
And that was actually veryimpressive, I think more so than
the actual starting pitching.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
I agree?
No for sure, and that's what Iwanted to talk about.
We saw what they did in theplayoffs was 8-1-2.
What I wanted to talk about, and we saw what they did in the
playoffs was 8-1-2.
So, during the season, forthose that don't know, those
that are not Dodger fans, I mean, if you're not a Dodger fan,
you should be watching thisepisode.
But for the Dodger fans thatare watching and listening, you
suck.
You mean the ones that aren't.
No, the ones that hate us.
Oh, yeah, there you go.
(22:39):
It's okay, though, for Comingback.
Yeah, I also predict a repeatin 2025.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
You know, I think
we're going to be on top for a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
I think so.
I think this is a win.
Now team.
And I think that's exactly whatthey're going to do, right.
Because I heard someone onanother podcast say that I'm not
going away no time soon.
No, the Dodgers are here tostay.
No-transcript.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
I can actually
proudly say that and choose.
Hey, you know what.
Okay, yes, you, sons of bitches, did shut us down.
You did, okay, and you knowwhat?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Last year, not this
year, though.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Exactly Kudos, but
they were like talking smack,
like it was going to happenagain.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Of course, and it was
a good series.
It almost did happen, it wasnot a one, two, three, four.
Yes, it was not, it almost was,it almost did a repeat.
Almost they got a.
Dodgers woke up when it counted.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
But the Dodgers did
wake up and they did handle it
and took care of business.
And we're here and you're not,so fuck off.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
So for For all you
Padre fans out there, that's
what happened to you guys rightthere.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Yep, yeah, there was
some sad people.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
All that shit talk,
all that sadness.
They went on with you guysdoing crickets.
The Dodgers made a beautifulcomeback in the NLDS to win the
whole thing.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
They really.
It was like almost meant to be.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
It was.
I agree that's basically whatit was.
That was the case.
So I don't know, man.
I agree that's basically whatit was, that was the case.
So I don't know, man.
I look at it this way.
They had a nice.
They had a good season, a verytroubled one.
Well, at first it was great.
Off season, they signed allthose players, they decided to
build a team that we felt wasfortified, and they were for a
good while.
Then the injuries startedhappening, the injury bug, and
(24:29):
it happened to the worst groupof players.
It could have happened.
So you're fucking startingpitching.
My gosh.
Everybody when that startedhappening, bro, all the sports
casters, all the analysts, whatever you want to call them,
nice, catch myself, um, all theanalysts, all that shit, all
those fuckers all counted us out.
All thought the dodgers weren'tgonna do shit this year no I
said well, they fucked andthey're fucked now, because in
most cases, you won't winwithout good pitching.
Let's be honest.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
And technically, like
you said, by the book and the
way it is, that's probably agood way to consider it.
But that's my whole reason forsaying hey, you know what, I
take a step back and I give alot of props to that bullpen.
You know what?
Our bullpen?
Really really showed up and didtheir—.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Not just during the
season, but also when it counted
.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
They really did.
I mean, it was an amazingseason.
We had a lot of great freaking, you know, a lot of great games
and a lot of people did theirjob.
Our bats didn't turn off likethey have in previous seasons,
where I think it makes a bigfucking difference.
We were able to score.
We weren't leaving as manypeople on base, which is
something that the Dodgers havebeen cursed with forever.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Yep and thank God the
patience didn't go away.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
We were very patient.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
They forced pitchers
to go in the zone.
They wouldn't chase garbagethey wouldn't chase garbage.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Whether they blow it
or lose it, they don't win.
Okay, fine, but you know whatyear next year, next season
comes around and I'm still adodger fan and I'll continue to
be a dodger fan.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
So same here.
Amen to that, brother, I'm adodger fan the wins.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
I'm dodger fan when
they lose.
So facts same here.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
It don't change, and
that's why me and serge are real
dodger fans.
He's been a dodger fan longerthan me.
Shit, when I was a dodger fanman because you kind of went
over real quick briefly beforewe continue with the season
discussion um, when I startedwatching dodgers was always real
, really actually being a dodgerfan, like a truthful, you know,
a conscious one, not just likeI'm a dodger fan because my dad
is.
My dad was a dodger fan, obviously too.
(26:11):
He showed me the game, he tookme to my first dodger game.
Obviously my pops, you know, umall that stuff.
But when did I start takingthem seriously?
2008, and that's the year youknow.
That's the year that you knowrussell Russell Martin was
playing still, and Matt Camp andAndre Ethier and James Loney
and they had just signed fuckingManny Ramirez to that big deal.
(26:31):
You remember that shit.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
God, that was another
heartbreak, dude, that was a
lot of talent gone, bad Bro wehad a squad that year, man.
And my favorite.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Just for those that
don't know my favorite ball
player he's retired now it'sRussell Martin, their ball
player.
He's retired now.
It's a russell martin.
Oh, they're catcher, I lovethat guy dude, he came back, he
played, he played my position.
He did come back, he actuallyretired.
He retired a dodger, so I'mactually happy with that, as
long as you didn't say, mike, piazza dude.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Please don't say mike
no no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
My favorite player is
russell martin man.
The thing about martin is thathe left originally because the
team unfortunately didn't,didn't?
He didn't feel like they gavehim his value.
You know, he had a, he had alabrum, he had a labrum tear he
got injured right before hebecame a free agent.
Really shitty timing, rightyeah, so they offered his shitty
timing to get hurt.
But he, you know, he, he, um, hetried to fight for it.
They, um, they, they offeredhim a deal because obviously
(27:15):
they know his talent.
They had him.
Shit, they had martin for thefirst six, seven years of his
career you know what I mean.
And then I remember he deniedit because he felt like you know
, no, that's not my worth, youguys know my worth, you know.
But like, oh, we're going togive you something.
We want to see if you bounceback from this injury.
Well, he obviously didn't takethe deal, unfortunately.
He went somewhere else, endedup to go play for the Pirates
and then the Yankees.
No, actually he went to theYankees first.
(27:36):
Yes, I believe he did years, and then he was a pirate for two
, and then I think he was, uh,he went to his home, his home
he's from, he's from canada,he's half canada, half black.
I believe his dad's canadian, Ithink.
Anyway, he went to go play fortoronto, that was, and then then
he came back to the dodgers.
Yeah, man, so he was a yankee Iremember that.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
I remember when he
came back.
Yeah, I remember.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Then he came back.
He was a yankee for three, hewas a um a pirate for two, a
blue jay for four, I think orfive, I don't remember exactly,
but I do know that he did comeback.
He got traded back from fromfrom toronto to the dodgers in
2019 for one year.
Yeah, he did get traded backfrom from the blue jays to the
dodgers in 2019 one year beforethey won a championship.
(28:22):
I wanted that man to.
I wanted him to retire with aring, bro, just because he's my
favorite player.
You know like I would love tosee him win it, bro.
Like same thing with Ethier.
The year that we got cheated.
Andre Ethier, that was his lastyear as a Dodger.
He retired.
2017 was Andre Ethier's lastyear as a Dodger and he retired
after that season.
Guys, the season we got fuckingcheated he played in the.
World Series.
He was right.
(28:42):
He played in the World Seriesas a Dodger and he was a great
player.
I actually have a signed ballfrom Andre Ethier.
He would probably be my secondfavorite Dodger of all time.
I'm not going to lie to youguys.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
That's tough to say
Actually.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
I won't say of all
time, but in my era that I got
to watch and view with my owneyes.
And I know there's greaterDodgers, obviously, don't wrong,
kirk gibson being one of them.
But I'm saying actively that Igot to watch in my lifetime.
My second favorite?
Speaker 5 (29:06):
that's a damn good
question right now.
Just right, the one thingthat's hitting me right now as
soon as you started that littleyou know um segment there, I was
like yeah, who the hell is myfavorite?
Speaker 3 (29:14):
goddamn dodger think
about it.
That's a damn good question.
Give that a good thought.
If you don't have the answerright now, I don't give us.
I really don't.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
There are a lot of
good damn players, man, that go
all the way.
I mean one of the most recent.
I don't know if it's an old manthing, but I give a lot of
props to him.
I'm not going to lie, I'm alittle heartbroken that he left
was Justin.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Justin.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Turner was.
I mean that little redhead sonof a bitch.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
He was a staple man.
He really was, and you knowwhat I loved watching him play.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
I think he was a good
leader, you know being the fact
that he was older, I think, alot of the young, I agree.
Well, here's a little nitpick.
Now, trust me, I don't know andI'm being honest, I really
don't know.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
But What'd you hear,
Dan?
This is a great one.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
It wasn't even a hear
.
I was watching an interviewwith I think it was like the
parade Okay, the Dodgers hadlike a little workout at the
stadium.
Okay, nothing serious.
I think they're all in sweatsand t-shirts.
Okay.
But one of the individuals thatshowed up to work out with him
(30:18):
was Justin Turner.
I'm not saying he's coming back.
He might've just been.
Hey, what's up, bro?
Y'all motherfuckers wantcongrats?
I'm sure he's welcome therewhenever he wants.
That'd be awesome to give him adeal, though.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Oh fuck dude, I know
Dude it'd be good to see him
come back.
He's a beloved Dodger.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
He deserves it.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
I mean, it's like I
almost gave him a ring.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
I mean, look, kike
came back.
Well, one of them I've alwaysfelt that which apparently we
might lose in this in this newseason is going to be Lux.
I love Lux.
Yeah.
I think his fundamentals andhis ability.
You know he's not a hundredpercent yet, but I think he's
got the potential to become inhall of favor he does.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
He's not quite there
yet.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
He continues to to
hone them skills and and and you
know, work, work on hisfundamentals.
I think the boy has the abilityto be a Hall of Famer Now
Hernandez is another one.
I like Hernandez.
The guy's had a lot of clutchhits Teoscar no.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Kike.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
But I'm sorry, dude,
what the fuck.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
He had a bad season.
No, no, no, I heard there was avision issue.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
What's with that Kike
celebration thing, dude?
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I don't know there's
an issue.
What's with that geek andcelebration thing, dude?
I?
Speaker 5 (31:25):
don't know.
There's some such shit there,bro.
What was that dude?
I mean, everybody goes up, theyyou know even a little slap on
the ass.
A slap on the ass is baseball.
We don't grab this little pop.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
You know that was a
good hit.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
He does some such
shit, but that motherfucker, he
made a hit, a home run and hecomes running in and it was tip
to tip it.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Okay, that was a
little what was that.
That was how it was.
What was that it was?
Speaker 5 (31:45):
taylor standing.
Even taylor was confused boy, that motherfucker was like you
just touched my dick.
I mean, it was like what thefuck was that dude?
I was like what?
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (31:59):
he, he does, he does
a lot of such shit in that
dugout.
There's actually I'm going toshow you guys a um, there's a
reel that I have I'm going toput it up on the screen now of
some really sus shit, and we'llgo over it in a second.
And to bring on John Brevia andMookie Betts greets him with a
three-run home run.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Do you enjoy it?
You better believe it.
Cool a man off.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Anyone that thought
that was a celebration.
You really need to checkyourself.
He slid and he put the dirtinto his mitt.
He was trying to get the dirtout of his mitt.
I saw it go viral and I just Istarted shaking my head and I
just saw all these idiots makingall these comments on it.
He slid and when he slides heputs his hand down, which is why
he wears those big Mickey Mousegloves.
He's trying to protect hishands.
A bunch of dirt crawls up inthere.
(32:54):
It happens all the time.
I wear a sliding mitt and everytime I slide dirt goes all up
into the sliding mitt.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Shake it now.
Granted, he probably shouldhave done it a little bit better
than the way he did it but uh,you know it looks pretty bad,
but it's about as innocent asyou can be.
So, serge, now that we're back, okay, we're gonna go over these
right now.
I just showed them a couple onthe screen right now.
I just for those that arewatching us, okay okay if you're
listening to us, you might wantto click into youtube, or or to
, or to rumble to see what wejust put on the screen.
What do you think about that, sir?
I just showed them the firstone, which was a dugout
celebration.
They're cranking something.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
And then water
exposure to Mookie's face.
I just don't know.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
What is that dude?
What the fuck is that?
Okay, okay, and he's so ready.
He's taking it like oh yeah, give me all the water to the
face.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
What is going on, bro
?
This is one of my points, bro.
I will again I made a point totell you I will continue to be
an LA fan.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
That's not the point
I love these guys.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
I have a fucking
couple questions, and that'd be
one of them.
That is definitely one of them.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
What the?
Fuck is that.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
I don't get it, dude.
There might have been somehands thrown in the goddamn
fucking dugout.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
That shit would have
happened to me, dude, but the
fact that Mookie knew thecelebration, he was ready for it
.
He got back out after hittingthe home run and then bow right
to his face His bro's loving it.
He's in heaven.
What just happened.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
I don't have an
answer for you.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
I don't get it, and
this is my point, because no one
knows what happened, bro.
This is my point.
I'm like what the fuck was that?
Especially that first fuckingtime that they went tip to tip,
the time that Otani does afucking stroke and a, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
No, I showed him that
one too.
Okay, so the next celebrationOtani gets a second base Is so
the next celebration Otani getsthe second base Is he jerking
off on the base pad.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
That's what he
fucking looked at, dude.
No, but it isn't just a jerkoff, it ain't like you know,
fuck you, he does this and hefucking throws it.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
He like Ray, that's
for you.
He gave it to the crowd.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
I got a 700 million
jizz shot.
All for you, yes, what?
Speaker 3 (35:02):
was that what?
I don't know what that was.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
You know we gotta, we
gotta, you know, pull back here
, people.
We need to reevaluate and how'sno one else celebration thing
needs to kind of, we need.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Come on, guys, we
gotta slow this shit down.
We can't, I agree.
So the compilation that you cansee online.
Some people are saying thedodgers are extra.
Um, what do they call that shit?
Zesty?
I would not use word Gay is themotherfucking word.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
I'd be using dude
Fucking gay, but these
motherfuckers are married so wecan't use that dude or suspect
or sus, I would say they'redefinitely sus.
These sons of bitches arerunning out of a closet like
that.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
This isn't.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
And hey, no offense
to anybody.
I apologize, I'm sure Ioffended somebody.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
I'm fucking sorry,
but we don't do that.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
I mean you know I've
been playing the sport for a
long fucking time.
Yeah, dude, I never celebratedthat way even when you slap
someone on the ass, there's alimit yeah, there's a time limit
if you if you slap someone onthe ass and it's taking three or
four seconds, there's a problem.
It should be a.
You know, it should be like.
It should be like like like, like like testing the tortilla
on the grill, you know that's itthat's too hot it's too hot,
let me just stop.
(36:06):
Yeah, bro, yeah, you know no, ifyou're sitting there like no,
that's a problem, that's afucking problem I agree with you
, brother.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Um, yeah, man.
So those celebrations I justshowed you guys that was just
the two that that stuck out themost to me that are really sus
and, and you know what, and I'ma I'm a huge fan.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
I mean, I'll honest
with you, I was just about to
buy a jersey, yeah.
And the fact that you know Ihappen to be a Hernandez, here's
another question.
Sure, I've been Hernandez mywhole life.
Yeah, since I was born, my dadgave me my name.
Who the fuck hyphenates agoddamn Hernandez dude?
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah, I thought that
was strange.
You saw it, bro.
You tell me, have I?
Speaker 5 (36:45):
been fucking this up
my whole life.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Is that a Spanish
thing?
You tell us, bro, where did?
Speaker 5 (36:50):
the hyphen on it's
over the D right.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Yeah, I believe it's
over the D.
Where did that come from it's?
Speaker 5 (37:00):
like God bless, my
mom passed, so I can't ask her
but I got to ask somebodyWhere's that coming from?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
All right For those
of you that are watching in the
comments.
If you could write that downfor us, let us know.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Is it supposed to be
hyphenated?
I've been fucking up.
Or is it just a new thing thatI want to be cool Hernandez.
What the fuck?
It's been Hernandez all my life.
All of a sudden it's Hernandez.
I don't know where that camefrom.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
They decided to be
cool, I guess, and make some
extra grammar adaptations to theword I guess.
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
It's like all of a
sudden they come in Spanish.
Aquí vamos a hablar con elHernandez.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
What the fuck is that
I?
Speaker 5 (37:36):
don't know man.
Is it cooler for TV orsomething, I guess, so I mean, I
imagine that's probably what itis, bro.
I don't know, I feel stupid,sorry, no you're not stupid, bro
.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Maybe we're the ones
that are off and wrong.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Maybe we're the ones
that are out of.
Maybe it's like no hyphen forthe peasants.
Maybe the peasants will get thehyphen.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
We don't make the
kind of money they fucking make.
That's probably why it'sprobably based like oh, you're
rich and you can afford thehyphen you get the hyphen, no
hyphen.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
You're in a certain
bracket, brother, Get back in
your Nissan.
He's like get back in yourNissan.
Oh shit, what the fuck?
You're not cool enough to youknow.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
This is brutal, nah,
man Fuck all that, anyway, fuck
all that we're cool enough, allright.
If I was young and I was goingto clubs, I'd be telling chicks
my last name has a hyphen in it.
Just like that, bro, and justwinking them, just done panties
wet, soaking.
For those that don't know, serge is also a single.
He's a single man he's notlooking, he's single not looking
but you know he's not sellinghimself well right now, so I'll
(38:39):
do it for him.
He's ready.
He's ready to you know what I'msaying.
So if you want to get the punchdelivered to you, sorry, man
right here, you know, oh shit, nah, man.
But anyway, back to the topic, guys.
All right, so dodgers baseball.
Um, so the year, man, this theseason was was a good season.
It was a rocky one when theinjury started to happen, but
(39:00):
when I saw that our numbers ournumbers weren't dwindling,
dwindling too much, I knew thatwe were still in the race.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
I knew we still had a
chance.
We kind of fell out a littlebit in the beginning okay,
because obviously we didn't takethat first place.
We had a couple other teamsthat were kind of the Yankees.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
Them motherfuckers
were in it.
I was paying a close eye,Actually I made this prediction
I don't want to take full credit, but I said this I would prefer
a Dodger-Yankee World Series.
Speaker 5 (39:23):
I think that any
goddamn World Series with these
guys in.
It would have been amazingPeriod.
So anybody who's a baseball fanshould see these two guys.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
I just didn't want to
see the Houston.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
No, but you know what
the Phillies were in it.
There was a lot of teams nodefinitely that was my second
guess would be the Phillies, butwe held on.
We never really felt back.
We was.
My second guess would be thePhillies, but we held on.
We never really felt back.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
We stayed above 500
the whole goddamn season I was
actually more worried aboutfacing them than the Mets.
I'm actually kind of relievedwe got the Mets.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
I was not too.
You know, the Mets are anamazing team, but I was not like
frightened of them.
No, no, I think honestly—.
I wasn't either, I was a littlemore nail-biting, a little more
concerned about the goddamnPadres Not because I think
they're a better team.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
They give us a lot of
trouble.
They give the Dodgers trouble.
Shit talking comes from all youfucking.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Padre fans, fuck you.
Well, you guys.
In all truthfulness, you know Iwas a little more like ha-ha,
you know, when it finally cameto hand, Of course, you know, I
honestly believe, I think, yeah, definitely, I was a little more
(40:36):
worried, you know, about someof these teams like the Phillies
and more.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
So, yeah, I agree, no
, I teams like the Phillies and
so, yeah, I agree.
No, I agree again for theDodgers.
You know, shout out to theDodgers bullpen.
I'm sorry.
I want to reiterate that justbecause I feel like you guys as
a Dodger fan myself talking here.
You guys definitely showed outman a lot this year and you guys
did it when it counted the most.
I'll go into more depth how Iwas impressed by you guys in the
, in the, in the, in thepostseason, in a second.
But one thing I want to go backto real quick before we continue
(41:06):
on with the season of 2024,back when I was watching you
know it was 08, 09, and so on,going into the future as a
Dodger fan, they impressed me alot in that era.
But what pissed me off is thatthey would always lose and they
wouldn't go to the World Series.
I didn't see the Dodgers playin a World Series until 2017.
Because every time they wouldblow it.
(41:26):
Then we had a drought for awhile, remember that.
So we would make it to the NLCSin 08 and in 09.
Didn't do shit in 2010.
Completely fucking sucked assin that year.
I remember that we had a squad.
We had Manny Ramirez who, bythe way, was ass in the outfield
.
Well, the funny thing is, wedominated.
Speaker 5 (41:42):
We would dominate,
yes and then the Phillies had
our number.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
We lost to the
Phillies two years in a row in
the NLCS the exact same way.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
Well explain to me
how?
Speaker 3 (41:51):
4-1, 4-1 both years
in a row, 08 and 09.
Speaker 5 (41:54):
But how do we sweep
the fucking Padres in the
fucking season and then theycome back and take us out
fucking round one in the fuckingfinals?
That made me sick You'retalking about 20,.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Yeah, explain that to
me.
I will in a second.
I'm going to get to that rightnow.
So the last thing I'm going tosay is it was cool to see Ethier
be able to at least play in aWorld Series in 17.
And then we had Kemp back.
Do you remember that Matt Kempcame back?
Speaker 5 (42:12):
in 2018?
I'm not a Kemp fan.
Really.
He has another bad attitude, Ithink.
Maybe Ultimately good at itGood ball player, though.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Good ball player,
exactly.
So it was kind of cool to seeEthier play in 17.
Unfortunately, he got cheatedout of his ring.
It would have been nice to haveone to retire with.
You know what I mean hedeserved it.
He definitely did.
He was a hardworking, only aDodger his whole career.
And then we got Mookie.
(42:44):
And then it comes 2019.
2019,.
We lose to the fucking.
We lost to the Nationals whoended up going on to win the
World Series that year they wenton to go where they won the
World Series that year and then2020, thank God, we came back.
We won 2021,.
I believe the Braves took itand Freeman was a Brave back
then Freeman was a brave backthen.
Freeman was a brave in 2021.
They won a World Series.
(43:04):
Who the fuck took it in 2022and 2023?
I forgot.
2022 was a team that hadn't wonin a while, wasn't it the
Astros?
It might have been.
You're fucking right.
I think it was a fuckingbitch-ass team.
And in 2023,.
Who won it last year?
I forgot.
I know that the Astros took itin 22, I think In 23,.
(43:26):
Who won?
I forgot?
I can't remember.
It wasn't the Astros.
Oh, it was the fucking Rangers.
They beat the D-backs it was aweird.
World.
Speaker 5 (43:37):
Series.
No one really talked about thatWorld Series, sorry to shade on
you guys, and I'm not a haterman.
I'm not a hater.
No, I'm not Good for them.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
And Seager was a
fucking Ranger and he won as a
yeah Seager.
Seager won a World Series in aRanger uniform in 2023.
Speaker 5 (43:49):
That's another player
I'm sad to.
He was a good player.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
He was a good guy too
.
I think he won World Series MVPin 2020.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
But they say he's got
the glass hip or whatever that
guy's like, you know.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yeah, I think the
Dodgers saw that one coming.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
He's got so many
injuries, Like let's get rid of
him while he's still worthy.
And that's what they did.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
We'll get money of
him.
Yeah, like, yeah, they beat theD-backs, the Diamondbacks so
shocked the world when they beatthe Phillies last year.
They beat the Phillies in theNLCS.
I don't know if you know this.
And they went on to the WorldSeries and that was the first
time Diamondbacks have beenthere since God knows when.
I don't know when the fuckArizona went to the World Series
.
Besides last, no one reallywatched or talked about.
Speaker 5 (44:33):
Well, you know what
Honestly I mean?
I got to admit that East Coastis probably definitely a beer
contender.
No, for sure.
So anytime we get those teamsbeat and get around them, that's
that much more impressive.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
It's always.
Yeah, it is, it is, you'reright.
So kudos to those teams.
And then, obviously, 2024, theDodgers took it, thank God, and
they earned it.
No one can tell the Dodgersshit, and I'm going to get to
that now.
So, transitioning over, do youhave anything else you want to
say about the season besideswhat we covered already?
I mean, 2024 was prettystraightforward, right.
The injuries, obviously, andthen the players that stepped up
the bullpen, obviously.
(45:07):
No, you know what?
Speaker 5 (45:08):
I think that was one
of the things.
Another thing that I noticed asfar as the Dodgers, a gripe,
because every time someone cameup to bat you know, it always
seemed like they wanted to bethe hero and hit it over the
fence.
Like you know, we were leavingpeople on base Um, you know, the
bats were cooling off andeveryone wanted to hit that home
(45:29):
run and they weren't patientenough yeah.
And it just simply weren't.
You know but?
But the offense was notmatching the defense.
Even if we can keep them downto a couple of runs, you know
you need the bats to stay hot,to put points up, or they don't
make a difference.
One run will finish us off, yeah, but the bottom line is
everybody's swinging for thefence and it's like dude, just
get the ball in play dude andkeep the bases moving.
(45:49):
Yep and I feel that we wereable to accomplish that a lot
better this time.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
You know, Accomplish
that a lot better this time
around.
I agree, everybody's on thesame page.
It was more of a team effort.
Everybody understood.
It was less for self and moreso for team.
Speaker 5 (46:01):
Get on base.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
I'm going to talk
about Freeman in a second.
This will impress everybody inthe world.
He didn't do shit the wholepostseason.
Let's be fair.
But then again to be fair hewas getting hurt.
Speaker 5 (46:12):
He got hurt a lot, he
was recovering lot, but he had
a good overall season.
I mean, the dude is still afabulous fucking player.
No, no, I'm on that shit.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
Come on, I wouldn't
have bought the shirt if I
didn't like freeman.
You know what I mean.
I lie, I fuck with him.
You know I mean.
But I said he disappointed me alittle bit in the first two
rounds.
But to be fair, if you'reinjured like he did, you know he
rolled his ankle, fucked uprunning the first base.
He made up for it.
He most definitely made up forthe world series.
We'll get to that in a second.
We'll go over the games in asecond but okay.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
With that said, why
the fuck did he go for third a
couple games later?
What the fuck was he thinking?
Speaker 3 (46:41):
I don't know man, he
was probably riding the fucking
train of this, riding the trainof this right here.
He's in history forever now hehad a.
Speaker 5 (46:51):
You know that he had
a big time hitch in his giddy up
dude trying to round.
You.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
Gotta give it to him,
man, when you have a great
moment like this, like that'swhy I bought the shirt, bro.
I saw it.
I saw that it was a shirt and Iwas like brilliant fucking idea
.
Speaker 5 (47:01):
Well, that's every
fucking kid's dream, every
fucking kid that's ever playedthis sport.
You know whether it was just in.
You know that infamous bottomof the ninth two outs.
Fucking, you're at bat.
Speaker 3 (47:16):
Best loaded.
Your fucking hit counts themost.
You have a chance to walk itoff for your team and for your
city.
Bro, that shit lives on forever.
Bro, Look at this.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
Dude, a walk-off
Grand Slam.
They immortalized it in at-shirt for a reason, and it
should be that picture rightthere.
It's epic as fuck he's standinglike a goddamn pimp dude.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
He walked up with his
bat in the air like that's
right, I know where that's goingInto the fucking seats in right
field.
He knew it, man.
It was one of those beautiful.
I bet you.
Once he made connect, heconnected with that swing man.
Oh, you know, you know, he knewit was gone.
Speaker 5 (47:47):
You know it's gone.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
You know when it hits
.
Perfect soon, as he made thatcontact Everything just worked.
Speaker 5 (47:56):
It's even in the
sound of the connection.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
That's why he didn't
run.
You don't run If you makecontact like that, as solid as
he did.
And he saw the travel where theball was going.
He already knew.
He knew that he could run allyou want, outfielder, you're not
catching that one, you're inthe wall.
Yeah, brother, look man.
And it's supposed to be frownedupon when they see an
outfielder?
(48:17):
Stop running and just watch thetravel of the ball?
I don't think so, because myargument to that is if you have
good depth perception and youcan see that the ball is well
the fuck over your head and it'snot going to be anywhere within
your reach even if you climbthe wall, if you know it's not
and you can see the trajectoryof the ball, I'd stop running
too.
(48:38):
I would take it down to a jog,to a final stop, like well, that
shit's gone, I'm not going tofucking catch that.
If it's middle to top and it'sover your head and it's sailing.
You're not going to get that.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
But with that said,
though, and going back to people
we dislike, one of the things Ican't stand about Machado is
the way he stops.
He stops.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
Yeah, he does.
He doesn't hustle at first base, he does not hustle at first.
Notorious for that.
Speaker 5 (48:59):
He sits there and is
like and he hits the brakes.
How much money are you making, dude?
Speaker 3 (49:03):
Yeah, no, it's kind
of garbage.
To make all that money, youbetter run as if you are safe,
Even if you're going to getthrown out.
At least make it look like youshowed some effort bro Dude,
like fuck, try bitch.
Speaker 5 (49:20):
Dude like try bitch.
What if the guy stumbles theball?
Or look at, look at that, lookat that, that fifth game, when,
when um mookie hits that littlefucking ground at a first base,
and what did he do?
He fucked it up because hewanted to throw it to the
pitcher yeah he wanted to throwit at cole, and then cole was
like you know, wait a minute, you should have just ran that
one out.
Yep, and mookie gets on first.
It's like that shit happens yeahyou know, but if he would have
fucking given up on the thing, they would have got him out yeah
(49:41):
, you know so, if he wouldn'thave given up exactly.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
see, and those
moments like that, as a, as a
ball player, you have to be ableto read that infield, be able
to read that play, to know, atleast have an idea of the
trajectory, right, because I'msure you agree, like as a ball
player, as someone that playedthe sport, you know you have to
have those kinds of judgmentcalls.
You have to kind of understandlike, excuse me, I understand in
some cases you cannot judge thewhere, the path of the ball.
(50:05):
I understand that, that youhave to have enough discernment
to know that, okay, it mightmake, it might take a bad hop,
right, but can I recover from it?
You got to ask yourself thatquestion.
Or, in their case, like, okay,do I know that I can do this, or
that you know I see thishappening right.
Or you can literally see a playusually play out.
You know where it's going toend up.
(50:25):
You see where I'm going withthis.
Yeah, absolutely Right.
So you should know as a player, okay, I it's easier said than
done I know, right, I'm sure youagree, as a baseball player,
especially in the infield, quickthinking is like game one, bro,
number one rule.
You got to be quick on it, man.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
Especially as a
catcher, Especially at that
level.
Balls are moving fast.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
I don't know if you
played the infield much, but me
being a catcher bro, I used totry to envision it before it
happened, sometimes to a degreelike, okay, what I would do is
I'd go over scenarios in my headwhen I played.
I would go over.
Okay, if he grounds it out, Iknow I'm gonna do with this
situation.
Right, I know where I'm gonnago.
I'm supposed to go cover thefirst baseman, right, if he
grounds it up the middle?
whatever but if there's a guy onset first going to second, all
right, get ready for a doubleplay.
Hopefully he doesn't sail itover the first baseman's head,
but if he does, I'm right thereto catch that bitch.
(51:11):
You see what I?
I would think of scenarios likethat.
Or if my best case scenario Istrike this motherfucker out and
this fool at first tries to runand steal Hopefully it's a
pitch and run situation where wecan get this motherfucker to
swing, miss, that's one out, andthen I can react fast enough to
get this fool out a second.
I would think of shit like that.
You know what.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
I mean as a catcher
you had to bro.
Speaker 5 (51:43):
So I would prepare
myself, even if it didn't happen
to do it, you know I'm sayingsee yourself, envision yourself
doing it, and then followthrough with the action.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
But not just that.
You really need to be preparedfor like alternative, you know,
uh, outcomes?
No, of course, if it doesn't gothe way you're predicting, how
would you do that, you know, isit in your?
Speaker 5 (51:49):
glove.
Did you drop it?
Speaker 3 (51:51):
you know the worst
feeling is a catcher's when it
gets past you.
There's a man on base.
Oh, the fear, the fuckingnervousness, the shit that
enters your heart as soon asthat happens.
How quickly that mask comes offyour head.
Find the ball, go, get it, getit to base.
Speaker 5 (52:06):
Oh, that's also huge
Making sure you know where the
ball's at.
Nothing worse than seeing thatcatcher turn around like where
the fuck did it go?
Speaker 3 (52:17):
And do you see that
from the outfield, you're like,
fuck, get to it, get to it, getto it.
You know, and it's out of yourhands really at that point if
you're in the outfield.
But anyway, back to what wewere talking about, man, I think
the overall season, though, wasgreat.
They pulled it together, theymade it happen where it counted
the most, and I don't haveanything else really to add to
the season itself.
Do the postseason I'll forgetthat.
Speaker 5 (52:33):
No, no, you know what
it was a pretty exciting game.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
It really was.
It was an exciting season, exciting season for sure, and it
was one that I'm glad that wewent against the odds.
Speaker 5 (52:41):
No, you know what I'm
excited.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
And being also it
worked out the way I wanted it
to, of course, I'm not going tocomplain about it, but it was
fun, it was good baseball and itshows that the Dodgers were
able to overcome the odds.
Speaker 5 (52:56):
You can go either way
with that, because it just goes
to show that there's a lot ofother teams out there that
deserve it too.
They're good ballparks and goodorganizations and they're not
going to go down without a fight.
So, on top of that, to say thatthe Dodgers actually got
through that and were able to,you know, finish on top of it,
(53:19):
hey, you know what that says alittle something about them too.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
No, it does, I agree,
and it says that they're able
to overcome the odds or what theexpectations are of the
analysts and the ones that areprofessional you know, I don't
say professionals thatunderstanding the game and how
it's supposed to go.
It proves them wrong.
(53:41):
Absolutely it does.
It's like okay, you say thatabout us, we're gonna show you
one better.
We're actually gonna do theopposite.
We'll prove it too.
That's what they did, bro, sothat there's no fuck you better
than that.
Like I remember there was athere's actually a clip of
muncie in in the fucking uh, inthe in the locker room after
they won at yankee stadium, after they won the world series.
He's like a lot of youmotherfuckers thought we weren't
gonna be able to do this shit.
A lot of you.
He let it, let loose, bro, which justifiably so, I feel
like and I'm a very big believerin this once you win a
(54:03):
championship of any, of anycaliber, anything in your life,
whether you're playing a sportor otherwise, right, I think
that the smartest time to gloatis when you win the title, win
the championship, win the trophy, then shit.
What I don't like are theindividuals that run their
fucking mouth before they win achampionship.
I hate that shit.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Don't you, or they'll
talk shit after every win
They'll talk shit.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
That's right,
motherfucker.
I owned, you Did.
You didn't win everything, though why can't you just stay
humble until you get to thechampionship and win that bitch
and then run your mouth?
But that's what Muncie did,he's like man, fuck you guys.
Speaker 5 (54:36):
He's like we're going
to do this.
I got no problem with Munciesaying something, but on all
truthfulness, I mean, isn'twinning, that's enough.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
That is enough.
I agree.
I like that.
Winning is enough for sure.
Why gloat?
Speaker 5 (54:56):
Why stoop yourself to
that level?
And you're sitting there andabout to go in the locker room
and bust out a bunch of yeah.
It's like champagne everywhere.
Speaker 3 (55:02):
Fuck yeah.
What do you want to say now?
What do you can't say shit tothat you just can't.
Speaker 5 (55:07):
You know it's, it's
like like boxing dude, you know
it's like you know what you'renot discussing that.
You know the the refs scoredthe bout this way.
It's like you.
You know what.
You knocked him the fuck out.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Period no effects.
Speaker 5 (55:20):
I don't got a problem
with a little fucking wink and
you know, fuck you.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
That's fine.
Speaker 5 (55:24):
But he got a little
upset, he got a little emotional
.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
He did get a little
emotional.
Yeah, fuck you motherfuckers.
I'm like damn bro, I'm like, was that necessary?
Speaker 5 (55:33):
I mean, I guess to
everybody the guy he fought,
even though, come on, Muncie, you didn't do a whole lot, you
just turned off.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
Love you, bro, I mean
it's true, but at least his
argument was he did contributeto getting there.
He did, but you know what yougot to give him that At least he
did that.
Speaker 5 (55:48):
And they're there and
all the fucking haters are home
upset and guess what?
Locker room popping fuckingcorks facts and you know what?
Speaker 3 (56:00):
there'll be a big fat
, shiny fucking ring on your
finger on top of a giant.
Speaker 5 (56:01):
It's gonna be nice,
yep, and I'm gonna add, I'm
gonna add, you're gonna go hometo a gajillion dollar fucking
house with a gajillion dollarwife.
You know, and so you know whatyour life is good now is it
fucking necessary?
Speaker 3 (56:10):
not really exactly.
You got your championship, bro.
You had your celebration withyour teammates, your loved ones.
That's really what matters.
Like you said, that's enoughshit talk right there in itself
and truthfully you know whatyou're good.
Who hurts?
Speaker 5 (56:21):
loading right there
who hurts more, the players or
the goddamn fucking or the fans?
Because someone made a pointone time that you know there was
a big old fucking championshipmany years ago and the bulls
lost, right, yeah, so jordanfucking lost and they went home
and the fucking, you know the um, the nba, went on to play their
championship.
Well, literally two days later.
Two days later, it was pippenand fuck who was?
(56:46):
Who was with him?
Jordan?
No, it wasn't jordan, it was uhgod, but anyways, pippen was
there, who obviously, you knowfucking stepped down from, you
know losing.
Of course, they were in Alaskaon a deep Fucking sea fishing
trip Having a blast.
You can see booze in thebackground, these giant Fucking
fish.
They're screaming, mouths wideOpen, they're excited.
(57:08):
They didn't look too damnbutthurt they didn't look too
sad.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
They didn't look too
sad.
They had their millions to drytheir eyes, to dry their tears
with.
I was like you know.
There's players out there andfans.
Speaker 5 (57:19):
My team lost.
You know, dude, trust me, dude, their paychecks are coming,
they're doing fine, their livesaren't ending, you know what?
Speaker 1 (57:26):
We'll do better next
year.
Speaker 5 (57:27):
Exactly, and the same
thing in this thing.
So who gets the so-called finallaugh, you know, and if Muncie
got a little, emotional, shallwe say the you know.
And then, if Muncie got alittle emotional, yeah, the
bottom line is, hey, you knowwhat, though?
He went into a locker room andhe popped corks and he drank
booze and, you know, had a blastand you know, drove home to a
happy wife.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
So, yeah, he's good,
there's no issue, I agree.
So that gives it to all thosefans out there.
A lot of you guys you'realready sulking in it.
I'm not gonna fucking put saltin the wind.
Salt in the wind, salt in thewound or anything like that.
It is what it is.
Dodgers won.
It's a great year for theDodger fans and Dodger players
Fantastic.
Hopefully they can repeat nextyear.
I really hope so.
(58:07):
We'll see.
We look good.
They definitely look like theycan.
They're definitely a candidateand we're going to get to a new
signing.
They actually signed someonenew.
I don't know if you know aboutthis.
We'll get to that in a second.
Of course he knows about it.
We'll get to that.
We'll get to that in a minute.
I don't want to get ahead ofmyself.
Well, you know really quick,though.
Speaker 5 (58:24):
Here's a question I
got for you real fast.
Do you think they should keepOtani as a fucking designated
hitter?
Let him pitch.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
I say keep him as a
designated hitter, don't let him
pitch.
Speaker 5 (58:36):
You know, because
they're saying, because I think
he might really fuck up a goodass.
Well, the bottom line is, if hefucking injures that arm again,
he won't be able to bat.
That seems like a pretty bigfucking liability to me man.
Do you keep him?
I mean, this motherfucker canhit 50 home runs.
Yeah, do you keep him, is that?
Speaker 3 (58:55):
50-50 club.
Might I add MVP hitting, justsaying 55, dude.
Jeez, he almost hit 60.
I'm going to fucking hit.
Oh wow, it was like 58 and 50,something, that's some bitch.
That's insane bro.
Speaker 5 (59:06):
He's 50-55 club.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
Fuck it, stop
pitching.
You don't need to pitch, nomore.
Speaker 5 (59:10):
So do you keep him as
a designated?
Speaker 3 (59:12):
hitter.
Speaker 5 (59:13):
And don't even bother
pitching Nope.
You know what I mean.
I get it.
That's why we bought themotherfucker.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
That's not the only
reason why I mean look what he
did this year offensively.
That also was the reason why webought him.
You know what I'm?
Speaker 5 (59:26):
saying yeah, but they
were more inclined.
I mean when you heard him talk.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
At the very beginning
you were talking about his
pitching yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
So I mean, dude, I
can't believe that son of a
bitch is that big.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
He's a big
motherfucker.
Speaker 5 (59:37):
He's tall, the fuck
did they feed him?
That son of a bitch is like sixfucking five.
What is that?
What the fuck are?
Speaker 3 (59:44):
they feeding him,
dude?
Not just rice, not just rice.
Speaker 5 (59:51):
I've never seen one
pass like five-five.
Speaker 3 (59:52):
I'm sorry.
I'm not trying to be racial, but I'm sorry, bro, but come on.
Speaker 5 (59:56):
What are they feeding
that motherfucker?
I don't know bro.
Speaker 3 (59:58):
I saw him on the
mound dude Wheaties for
breakfast.
God damn.
Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
Wheaties mixed with
steroids?
I don't know, bro.
That's some bitch fucking.
Drinking milk, that's somehyper-infused rice.
He's drinking milk dude, that'ssome hyper-infused rice.
That fucking dude from thatRocky show the Russian, the guy
that you know fought Rocky atthe end.
Oh yeah, fucking, I will breakyou.
I will break you If he dies, hedies my name's.
Ivan Drago.
(01:00:24):
Yeah, if he dies, he dies.
If he dies, he dies.
Fucking Ivan Drago, that's whothat son of a bitch looks like.
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Yeah, he's a big
motherfucker, for sure, bro,
that's crazy, they're fuckingsticking all the needles up in
that motherfucker dude.
I'm like you know god damn.
We need him as beefy aspossible, that motherfucker's
huge man.
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
Dude, he looks like a
goddamn stud on the goddamn
beef market, but he has such ababy face.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Have you noticed that
you look at him?
He's like a big bulky woman.
He's the nicest looking dudeever.
You see his face.
He looks like he was saying hi,hi, face is not intimidating at
all.
The body's more intimidatingthan the face, bro.
Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
He's just a big son
of a bitch.
Yeah, he's got a big-ass torsoman.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
He's a big dude, but
all that power I mean it comes
from somewhere right, but youknow what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:01:07):
I've heard that
because look at you know.
Going back to Bueller, you knowwhat I mean B huge future.
Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
And I thought it was
fitting that he was the one to
close out the World Series.
Speaker 5 (01:01:16):
That was a nice touch
and I think that's cool, even
if he doesn't come back.
But you know what I mean it'skind of sad.
The guys he had surgery anddefinitely did not have a great
season.
His comeback was not asanticipated.
Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
It was bittersweet,
yeah, so you gave him that it
was fitting for him, because itwas nice for him personally.
What, what a nice way to endthe season.
Speaker 5 (01:01:34):
That was a great
ninth inning.
Yeah, it was that motherfucker.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
He pitched his heart
out on two days rest.
Yeah, he fucking did On twodays rest, bro.
Speaker 5 (01:01:40):
But I got to say.
Another thing I have to make apoint is you know, the Yankee
spirit was broken.
Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
Oh, for sure.
We'll get into that Save yourthoughts.
I promise we're getting aheadof ourselves first.
All right, okay, all right.
So now we're gonna move into,we're gonna transition over into
from the regular season of 2024to the playoffs of 2024 mlb
season, let's go.
Yeah, it's a tradition here.
(01:02:07):
Let's do this.
Whenever we talk about baseballor beef or whatever, I bust out
this fucking little stereoright here, this little fucking
speaker of mine, this littledodger speaker, in case you
didn't get a chance to see itserge oh, I fucking love it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
it you see that shit
Awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Right Got the fucking
LED lights and everything.
It's a tiny little, fuckingcheap-ass.
Speaker from Ross.
Let's go.
Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
Dude, it looks cool
as fuck.
Makes me want to do drugs.
Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Look at that, son of
a bitch right there Makes you
want to do drugs.
Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
Yeah, fuck, yeah dude
, it's some psychedelic shit.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Psych.
You ought to see what are wetalking about All right.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
So we're talking
about the postseason Before we
get to the World Series.
Right, we're going to breakdown.
So the first series of thePadres I think that goes without
saying.
That series was obviously adetrimental win.
I think it was one of thetoughest series Out of all the
postseason, would you agree?
I think the series with thePadres is probably one of the
hardest.
Well, just, series with thePadres is probably one of the
hardest, just because we playedbad and not because they're a
(01:02:59):
great team, in my opinion.
What are your opinions andthoughts?
We'll move on to the NLCS,obviously, then the World Series
and we'll wrap it up.
But what do you think about theNLDS in a whole?
And why do you think that theDodgers struggled a little bit?
We did end up beating them.
Obviously.
We came back to win the lasttwo must-.
Speaker 5 (01:03:12):
One thing I mean up
until literally a year or two
ago, the Padres were nothingmore than the little brother.
Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Yeah, they were.
Speaker 5 (01:03:19):
So they were always
looked at as nothing more than
the Dodgers little brother andwere never really looked past
that they weren't reallyconsidered in the same league.
I mean, I'm sorry to say that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
No, they weren't.
Don't be sorry, they weren'tit's true, but you know what?
Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
I think things have
changed, change a little bit.
So I don't know if it's fair tosay that anymore the um now
they kind of been the littlebrother that grew up and slaps
back.
You know what I mean.
So, um, I still in not not onlybecause I'm not a dodger fan,
I'm talking about on paper.
Yeah, I still don't think thedodgers compete with the dodgers
but with that said, though, when the fucking padres play
their 100% and we don't show up,or whatever you want to call it
, you know what?
It's just a Padre day.
Yeah, it just stings a littlebit more.
It does, you know?
(01:04:05):
We lose a game to Atlanta.
We lose a game to, you know, chicago.
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
It stings a little
bit more.
It doesn't burn the same, notas much but you lose to the
fucking that cocksucker fuckingMachado dude.
Speaker 5 (01:04:14):
He you lose to the
fucking that cocksucker fucking
Machado dude.
He's a home run on us Anytimeit just you know what it's kind
of like.
You know chlamydia in your eyeor something.
It's just real fucking bad dude.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Exactly why.
It burns extra man, it's likechlamydia in the eye.
Fuck dude.
Who's pussy you rubbing in youreyeball man?
Speaker 5 (01:04:34):
I'm just fucking sick
.
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Tell me I'm lying,
though you're not wrong.
You're not wrong, you're notwrong.
Speaker 5 (01:04:42):
You're not wrong.
Fuck.
It's something about losing tothose bastards and, I think,
even being so that we shouldn'tlose to them I think it makes it
hurt now and then, now thatthey're you know they're they're
not the little little brotheranymore, they're tend to be.
You know, they're definitely alot more ballpark and um, their
organization is definitely abigger contender than they ever
(01:05:02):
have been.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (01:05:03):
Their team is
together.
They got some big fuckingcannons on there.
They got a lot of talent.
They're just the wrong attitude, I think I agree.
I think we still go with theattitude that it's just the
Padres.
Yeah.
So when they come around andthey play their A game and
they're fucking on top of shitsmell and everything else that's
(01:05:25):
going on over there.
They control our fucking batsand they're fielding good and
their bats are hot.
Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
It hurts.
I don't know how I feel aboutthat Hold your thoughts, hold
your thoughts.
We'll get into how I feel aboutthat.
I don't know.
Hold your thoughts, hold yourthoughts.
We'll get into that right now.
We'll get ahead of ourselves.
But anyway, I don't know how Ifeel about Snail.
Snail, it looks like he hasn'tslept in a fucking year.
Speaker 5 (01:05:47):
We'll get into that
in a second All right.
That dude looks like straightout of fucking Walking Dead.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
dude, head dude
you're right, let's get into
that in a second, all right, soso that's I agree with you your
thoughts on on the padres.
Man, I think the nods wassomething that didn't need to
get to that point, but when itdid, it was more satisfying, in
my opinion, that they were atleast able to climb out of that
hole and win.
Those two must win games tomove on to the nlcs.
Yeah, no, better fuck you thanthat, in my opinion absolutely
(01:06:16):
and that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
And going back to the
whole Muncie thing, is there a
bigger fuck you?
No.
There really isn't.
I mean straight out winning, not telling you we can win.
Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
Yeah, so not only did
we come back and beat you,
motherfuckers, we actually wenton to win the whole fucking
thing.
Yeah, they can actually saythat now.
Yes, and this was in a regularfucking season, not shortened,
not handicapped, it's a MickeyMouse championship.
You can't say that shit, nomore.
Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
You know what, though
, but?
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
going back.
Speaker 5 (01:06:41):
The bottom line is
you had the same amount of games
and dude the number of doubleheaders that were played in that
short season.
Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
So you got to give
that credit too I agree, it's
just as worthy.
Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
I agree Just as
warranted.
Speaker 5 (01:06:53):
But them
motherfuckers should should play
two goddamn games and get on afucking plane and play the next
day.
Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
Exactly, exactly.
That was a challenge in itself.
Speaker 5 (01:07:01):
That was a different
type of challenge.
Keep up that pace was in itselfI agree it was an
accomplishment.
Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
Absolutely no for
sure, but yeah, to go off what
you're saying.
Sorry, I mean to talk over youman, sorry, I get a little bad
etiquette and shit, my badpodcast.
Etiquette on my part.
Speaker 5 (01:07:17):
Sorry, no, no, no no.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
We're both guilty and
shit.
Yeah, you're right, you'reright, but um, all right man, so
I don't have anything else toadd to that, do you?
Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
want the NLCS.
Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
So the NLCS I kind of
briefly said this to you guys
earlier said it.
Oh, actually I, you said itfirst and I I coined out for you
.
Um, I'm actually, I wasactually relieved that it was
ended up being the dodgers andthe mets and not the dodgers and
the phillies, right, we kind ofbriefly talked about how we
felt like the phillies wouldhave been a bigger, badder
challenge than the mess.
Now, don't get me wrong, themets put up a good battle though
(01:07:50):
they did.
They.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
It was like it was a
good series in my opinion no,
but you know, if you just lookat the season in itself, I think
we struggled more with thePhillies.
Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
We did, and I think
the Phillies are by all means a
phenomenal organization.
Speaker 5 (01:08:03):
They are, you know, a
great team hands down period.
I was definitely more concerned, I mean you know, I really was
excited and as the season, youknow, ramped up towards the end,
there I you know, I obviouslybecame more um of a possibility
of the yankee dodger worldseries and I was like wow you
(01:08:24):
know I mean, and be awesome itwas I think any any fan of
baseball in general would youknow that's just a great world
series.
You know, because you know whencertain teams kind of come
together and I guess I'm sorrybut I'm not really a fan, so
when they play I'm like you knowwho won the world series, I
don't know who won.
You know it's like I feel badbecause I guess we've got
(01:08:46):
nothing, nothing invested in.
You know who the the teams are,but it was east coast, west
coast one of the biggest goddamnrivalries possible and and um,
it always has.
you know, if you're talkingabout winning the World Series
against, you know, a more worthyteam, by all means to win it
really means something you know.
(01:09:08):
To win against the fuckingYankees, dude, you know, and the
Yankees too, they just had, youknow, a few shortcomings.
They were an awesome team, butI honestly believe, and I'll
never fucking repeat this againso don't ask me to.
Okay, I honestly believe thatthe Yankees didn't give us their
(01:09:28):
110%?
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
I don't think so
either.
You know what?
Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
I don't think so
either, and I think game four
was a fucking like window.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Say those thoughts.
We're going to get there.
We're still talking about theNLCS.
I know, I know you want to jogin there.
We're almost there.
We're going to finish up withthe NLCS and we'll jump right
into the World Series, I promise, okay.
So the last thing I want to sayabout the NLCS is, like they
did give us a little bit of achallenge there.
There was a rumble all the wayyou know it was, and it worked
(01:10:00):
out, obviously, and they had acouple of good games, right, but
it worked out in our favor.
It was a good season.
It was Now the World SeriesDodgers and Yankees Probably the
most expensive fucking WorldSeries to take place in the
league in God knows how long.
Yeah, I didn't even check theprices in the seats, did you?
Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
I didn't look.
They were here at dodgerstadium.
They were fucking starting inthe thousands crazy, insane.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
But I mean, that's
what happens.
You said east, west, east meetswest.
But go ahead, and we're goingto go ahead and jump right into
it.
World series dodgers, yankeeswhat are your thoughts?
Obviously you were in themiddle of saying something, so
I'm cutting you off.
We'll do it now um, I want tomake sure I want to make sure
you got all your thoughts outabout the Dodgers-Mets first,
and now we're into the mainevent here.
Well, talking aboutDodger-Yankees.
Speaker 5 (01:10:39):
I mean they were, I
mean it was what I thought.
It was definitely not an easy.
It was an uphill battle.
Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
Not easy at all,
especially game one that was
established and nobody scoredGame one.
Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
I mean obviously up
until the end there, mr
You're-We T-shirt that statesdifferent.
But it was going in theYankees' favor.
I mean it almost looked like itwas going to be 1-0 them.
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
It almost did, and
then the bases loaded Bottom of
the ninth and then they fellapart a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:11:04):
You know, put some
men on base, and then Mr Freeman
came on and just hit a you knowdamn.
Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
I mean, what do you
say to that?
Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
He hit a.
You know he hit a.
You know a.
Kirk gibson walk off, walk offhome run, and you know the thing
about his, would you agree?
Look, I'm not going to go asfar as to say that that
freeman's home run was betterthan than was better than than,
uh, kirk's gibson's only becausethey both served the same
purpose it was a walk-off winhas the same value.
Now, though, I think the onlything that might, might, might,
maybe, arguably put freeman's alittle higher than his is the
(01:11:41):
fact that it was a Grand Slam, and that's never been done in
World Series history.
Fun fact for those that don'tknow this was the first walk-off
Grand Slam ever done in theWorld Series ever.
Speaker 5 (01:11:53):
But with that said
though, Just saying, I mean
again trust me, I'm not tryingto take away from Freeman.
This is amazing, but Gibson wasbig time hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
No, that's true.
Speaker 5 (01:12:02):
He wasn't even in the
fucking game.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Yeah, because people
were trying to say that all over
the ankle.
Nah, he had time to heal fromthe ankle I saw an interview and
then, okay, it's an ankle shot.
Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
So how does your
ankle really affect your swing?
Not too much.
Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
Not as much, Maybe a
little bit.
It's your balance right?
Speaker 5 (01:12:18):
Yeah, balance too,
but Gibson wasn't even in the
game.
Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
Yeah he didn't play
at all.
Speaker 5 (01:12:23):
They said like three
or four innings before.
Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
He had two bad knees,
not one.
Speaker 5 (01:12:31):
I saw an interview
with Lasorda and Lasorda said
all he could hear coming fromthe locker room was the bat
Gibson was already warming up,because he fucking knew.
And Eddie was already trying tosmack the ball and he came out
and looked at Lasorda and said, fucking, put me in.
Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
Yeah, because he knew
the game was on the line.
Speaker 5 (01:12:47):
And the bottom line
is you know, I don't know if I'm
willing to take anything awayfrom that.
I'm not trying to take it awayfrom Freeman, but that shit was
pretty intense.
Dude limped shit up to thegoddamn batters box.
He actually limped out of thebatter's box and going to first
fucking base when he fouled off,and when he fouled it off, he
was limping shit.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
When he hit the home
run, he was limping so you know
what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:13:07):
You know they were
both.
They were both by all meansimpressive, and you know um to
be able to achieve that.
Is is like, literally you canlike fall dead.
That's like life life is.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
No, I agree and I
will say no, you're right.
Sorry, I'm going to cut you off.
Speaker 5 (01:13:20):
No, no, I'm just
saying at that point to be able
to do that your childhood dreamsare done.
That's what you want more thananything.
You've accomplished it, I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
And to go off and to
build on what you're saying.
I feel like it's crazy to seethat because, let let's be
honest though, it makes anotherthing that kind of backs up what
you're saying about gibson'shome run.
If you remember that at batwhether you saw it in person or
you wouldn't looked it up onlineit was a lot of pitches.
Remember that he fouled off alot of pitches.
The tension, I mean the tensionthat was behind that at bat
(01:13:48):
you're like fuck, he keeps.
He keeps fouling them off or hethought would have been a fly
out was normally a foul out.
Like bro, he would havenormally been a fly out, was a
foul out.
Saved his ass a couple timesthere.
He hit one up the sideline andwent to the base.
Instead of it being a double, hehad a hobble and you can even
hear vince scully saying man, that was even an effort just for
him to walk 30 spaces towardsthe first base so for him to hit
(01:14:09):
it out the way he did with twobad knees not one, but two after
such a vigorous fucking battlewith eckler throwing at right,
and you know what that's amazing.
That's crazy, and Freeman's wasone pitch.
Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
But at the same time,
though no one anticipated, this
I mean all of the big oldcommentators, everybody.
I mean Jeter.
Yeah.
I think so-called Boppy was theonly one that gave us the
fucking win in six.
I think he said it was possibly, but Jeter fucking said it's
not going to happen.
I think he put Yankees in six.
Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
Damn.
Yeah, he did.
They were all voting against us, against the Dodgers, but
that's not a bad bet.
I mean, if you're thinkingabout just betting period, I
mean, come on.
Speaker 5 (01:14:52):
Jeter.
Granted he might be a littlejaded, I mean, this is Jeter.
He's probably one of thebiggest yankees of all time
biased as fuck yeah but you knowa lot of people did not
anticipate.
You know what happened and andthe way it went.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
I mean for us to win
they didn't invest anticipated
that either to us to win one,two three was just
un-fucking-imaginable yeah, noneof us, not even dodgers fans,
expected that.
I didn't.
I know you didn't.
I didn't expect I thought I wasgonna.
Speaker 5 (01:15:15):
I know you didn't, I
didn't expect I thought it was
going to go back and forth, ifI'm being honest with you.
But with that said, as we saida few times now and I started
saying with that shit, thathappened in game four.
Yeah.
The motherfucking Yankees cameto play.
Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
They woke up.
Speaker 5 (01:15:28):
And it was a fucking
little clear window.
It was an eyeglass to what theyankees are capable and they
manhandled us yeah, we did um,now, granted, did the dodgers
hold back?
Because you know we're, we'rewhat we're up three games and
there's still.
You know a lot of baseball togo, I mean possible and you know
truthfully, there was also theum that you know.
(01:15:49):
Roberts kind of held back the um, the bullpen, to keep him
fucking not to wear him outbecause he he'd rather have a
fresh bullpen for the next team.
So he really did not.
For the next game, you mean Huh?
Speaker 3 (01:16:01):
For the next game.
Speaker 5 (01:16:02):
Yeah, yeah, what did
I say?
Next team no for the next day.
Yeah, sorry For the next game.
Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
We're talking about
the World Series now.
Speaker 5 (01:16:08):
So you know what I
mean.
It was what you call it.
He didn't want wear them outand just use all of his options
in this game and just wrote itoff as a loss.
Yeah for sure, and then itreally paid off in game five.
Because when game five goes, wow, and again I'm going to go
on a limb, like I told youearlier, and I'll fess up.
(01:16:29):
But I was thinking it was goingto be another loss and I was
more worried about if theYankees won two in a row, what
would that do to the Dodgersemotionally?
Even though we're coming backto Dodger Stadium, it's going to
give the momentum to theYankees.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
And the.
Speaker 5 (01:16:45):
Yankees would have
had.
I think it would have been gamesix would have been different.
Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
Yeah, it would have.
Speaker 5 (01:16:49):
Game six would have
been different, but I think,
going back again, their biggestace in the whole fucking thing
was Cole dude.
That boy's a fucking, just anincredible pitcher.
Yeah, no, for sure, but theyjust used him, so you wouldn't
have played in game six, and theYankees didn't have a whole lot
after that.
No, they didn't they reallydidn't.
Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
They really didn't.
You're right and that's why Iwas like man.
It's good Because, like whatyou said earlier, right now,
before we got here, we weretalking about the NLCS.
You said that you don't feellike the Yankees gave us 110%.
They didn't.
Speaker 5 (01:17:20):
I agree with you I
really don't know what happened.
Speaker 3 (01:17:21):
No, no, I'll coin off
of that.
You're right, their spiritwasn't there.
I don't know why, I don't knowwhat the issue was or why they
were out of sync, but I thinkyou lost in the World Series.
I'm not saying they would havemanhandled us entirely, no, but
they would have put up a betterfight than what they would have
done.
Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
I originally thought
Dodgers in six.
That was my original prediction, but they did it in five, so
good for them.
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
I would not have been
surprised if it would have gone
seven.
Yeah, it could have gone seven.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
That's what the world
wanted.
Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
It literally damn
near went one, two, three, four
that was a man.
Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
Magnificent comeback,
though, in game five man.
Speaker 5 (01:17:56):
It was disgusting,
dude, that game five was amazing
, dude, that shit was justincredible I mean, like you said
, none of us expected it wasalmost like a goddamn curse dude
.
And it all started with with, you know, with, of all people,
judge dropping that ball on thefield.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
That's like no that
well it was all there allowed us
to come back.
Speaker 5 (01:18:13):
Yeah, it really did
that, you know then the fumble
at third, and then that little.
What the fuck happened at first?
Because, if you would havetaken any one of those little
errors out, it would have beenout three.
Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (01:18:27):
And then that inning
would have been over Yep and it
wouldn't have played ball theway it did.
No, it didn't, it would havedefinitely probably been a game
six.
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
But when momentum did
a switch like that, did a swing
like that, fate took adifferent.
Speaker 5 (01:18:40):
You hit that smack.
Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
Yep, and then fate
took a different field.
They're like oh, let's wrapthis shit up tonight.
That's how I knew.
I guarantee you the energy inthat Dodgers bullpen completely
flipped especially when theyscored that tying run.
It was a brand-new game again, bro, we're in this to take it
tonight?
Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
No, but you know what
, though, that makes such a
difference, and I think that'sone of the main things that's
effective the Dodgers.
The Dodgers have always been anemotional team.
I don't know if it's youngplayers, I don't know if it's
what it is, but you get in theirheads, dude, the game was
fucking over.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
And it just showed,
because I think the same thing
happened to about.
To say that you just answeredmy question.
I was going to say would yousay that's what happened to the
Yankees?
I think so.
Speaker 5 (01:19:17):
Pretty much right, I
think.
The Yankees.
You know they had the one win,but it wasn't enough to turn the
page on them taking themomentum, the Dodgers came off
of a game 1-2-3 that really hadthem going Stumbled, obviously,
in game four.
But you know, to that thatfifth inning put it all back.
Speaker 4 (01:19:36):
It shattered.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
Any guy, damn you
know, hope for the game the
Yankees they had just asked.
Completely gone, right.
Speaker 5 (01:19:44):
It's just, and you
know what Everybody says bring
it back to fucking Dodgerstadium.
The fuck that just win.
Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
I agree, thank you.
And we said we talked about thisoff the record.
We started talking about it.
One.
We need to start talking aboutit.
One thing I'm sure we can allagree is Dodger fans those
watching too and listening.
I'm sure you guys can agreewith us.
What we didn't want to see isthat shit go back to Dodger
Stadium.
Fuck that.
I feel like it's a biggervictory to win in their field.
You can be humble and call it avictory, or you can be fucking
(01:20:13):
cocky and be like it's a biggerfuck you to the other team to
just beat them in their ownhouse.
To the other team to just beatthem in their own house,
celebrate on their field likethe Dodgers did, and hoist that
trophy up with a ceremony ontheir field.
That's a bigger, in my opinion.
That's a bigger.
Fuck you, a better victory, abetter energy to have.
Then you can take it back home.
You got a parade coming.
You got shit to be happy aboutwhen they come home.
Sure, we want to see it at home.
(01:20:34):
Obviously, it would've beennice to see the celebration at
Dodger stadium.
We still got it.
You still got the celebrationof Dodger stadium, and I want to
get into that before we getinto the off season.
Well, while we're getting intothe off season, but it's just
like man that that win was justmore satisfying, in my opinion.
Speaker 5 (01:20:50):
Cause you did it in
their house.
That's almost like the biggestyeah, a series between two teams
.
One team dominates another andthen the next game.
It's complete opposite.
Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
It's a flip of the
switch almost.
You don't let the fucking youdon't let them come up for air.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
You don't let them
come up for air You're not
supposed to.
It's kind of like in a movieSome of them want that shit.
No, no, no.
Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
You finish them off
now.
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
Double tap, put one
in the head, yeah, another one
in the head, or Drupal tap, empty, the damn, freaking you
know, empty the clip.
Empty the clip, dude, don't sitthere and wait for him no.
He's like no, you better havean empty magazine, motherfucker,
Finish that shit off.
Speaker 5 (01:21:21):
I don't care.
The bottom line is to win.
And take it and don't sit there, and eh, we'll get him in
Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
That's when you start
saying shit like that If you
have to, yes, not ahead of time, not early.
Speaker 5 (01:21:38):
Let's sacrifice a
game and give them, because it's
where it boils down to Now.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
You're giving them
hope.
You're giving them hope.
You're giving them hope.
Speaker 5 (01:21:43):
You're also giving
them energy they would have had
a lot different attitude if theywould have won two in a row to
come back.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
Even with the
disadvantage of being home,
field advantage you know, yeah,I agree.
Well, those are my thoughts, man, aside from what we already
covered.
As far as the World Series goes, I mean, I don't have much to
add to that, unless you haveanything you want to add to the
World Series.
I think that's in a nutshell.
That's what it was.
We pretty much covered it all,in my opinion.
Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
I'm sure you do,
unless you have more.
No, I and again, like I said, please, it wasn't easy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:15):
It wasn't easy, even
at 110%.
They weren't at that, but ifthey, were it most definitely
wouldn't have been sevenno-transcript they were hungry.
Speaker 5 (01:22:24):
They played baseball.
They did, they stayed focusedand fundamentally they were
better than the Yankees too.
Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
I will say that I
don't care how biased that makes
me sound, that is the truth.
Fundamental baseball Dodgersare better, period.
One of you motherfuckers arguewith me.
I don't care.
That's the fucking truth.
We're the better fundamentalteam, period.
Speaker 5 (01:22:41):
You don't think so
this World Series.
But I'm not trying again.
I'm not saying that the Yankeesaren't capable of it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
No, I'm not saying
that they're trash.
I'm not saying that no, but I'msaying they are capable.
They got a lot of fuckingplayers on their vet.
They got there for a reason.
Speaker 5 (01:22:53):
But you know what
they just didn't?
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
honestly, they're
about to lose.
Speaker 5 (01:22:56):
Soto.
They didn't show up.
They're about to lose.
Soto's calling too much money.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
Yeah, we're getting
to that right now.
He wants the tiny money, nothaving it, and that's how we're
going to transition over to theoffseason, sir.
So, with that being said, mythoughts are finished.
Are yours on the World Series, sir?
Okay, congratulations, dodgers.
Again, you know what I'm saying.
You guys won 2024.
(01:23:28):
But now we're moving on to 2025.
And right now, we're currentlyin the offseason, right?
I think, they have a chance torepeat.
I'm sure you agree.
We already discussed that.
Speaker 5 (01:23:37):
It's in the cards.
Offseason signings.
Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
I already made a big
splash right here before
Thanksgiving.
Guys.
This obviously episode is goingto come out after Thanksgiving,
but Thanksgiving week wereceived the news that the
Dodgers have signed Mr BlakeSnell to a five-year $185
million deal.
I believe it was.
Let me double check my facts.
Speaker 5 (01:24:02):
I don't think it was
that much.
Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
Five-year deal with
the Dodgers $182 million.
He agreed to a five-year MOBcom,so I would imagine this is a
pretty credible source from theleague itself.
The league also announced thatBlake Snell, a two-time Cy Young
Award winner and one of the topfree agents this season
pitchers on the market Excuse me, Let me do it again.
(01:24:25):
He fucking wants a ring.
And one of the top free agentpitchers on the market.
This is our.
Excuse me, Let me read it again.
He fucking wants a ring.
And one of the top free agentpitchers on the market this
offseason has agreed to afive-year $182 million deal with
the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (01:24:37):
Everybody in their
mother wants to play the Dodgers
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
Okay, you just
whispered it into the mic, so I
think you already said it.
Speaker 5 (01:24:42):
He wants a ring.
He wants a ring.
He does, of course.
Of course he does.
Anyone comes to the Dodgersright now.
He wants a ring.
They want a ring period.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
And this is the same
asshole that gave us trouble in
2020.
Remember that we almost lostbecause of him man Snell.
He's a good pitcher Bottom line.
He's a phenomenal pitcher whenhe's healthy, absolutely.
Speaker 5 (01:24:57):
When that boy, he's
on top of pitches and he's good
period, yeah, and you knowbatters have a hard time fucking
, you know, getting on base, hedefinitely has the upper hand.
I don't like him because ofsome bitch who's always playing
against us.
How do I feel about him comingon board?
(01:25:20):
Truthfully, I think he can onlyimprove our bullpen and along
with that, you know, along withthe fact that he's coming on
board, there's also the fear ofpotentially we're losing Buehler
.
Yeah, so that's another big gunthat we may, potentially Buehler
, because you little Mr Buehlerwants more money and if we lose
(01:25:42):
him, obviously Kershaw ain'twhat he used to be and he ain't
coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Facts you know and
with that said, I know a lot of
you haters talk about Kershawbelongs in the bullpen if he
comes back.
Well, you know what Kershaw's?
He's not a starter anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
Whether you like
Kershaw or not, Kershaw's
definitely one of the best topthree player pitchers of all
time.
Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
That man.
Speaker 5 (01:26:03):
But he's done, I get
it, he is done.
Everybody finishes and he is nolonger.
I mean I saw him throwingcurveballs in the 70s.
I mean even as much curve as hecan throw and as much English
he puts on that ball, anybody, who's anybody is going to smack
that shit over the goddamn fence70s nothing for a fucking pro
ball player.
Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
Of course the
velocity is not there anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:26:24):
Yeah, dude, you're
under the 90s, bro, stop, yeah,
stop Exactly bro and.
I think I even saw a 69erfucking go across that plate.
Dude, it looked like T-Bone.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
So you know it didn't
look like a curve.
Speaker 4 (01:26:37):
I know you're not
telling a shit on a legend.
Speaker 5 (01:26:38):
But and I'm not You-
know Kershaw like I said, you're
one of bro yes, you know, staywith the thing.
Become a commentator dude.
You still have a lot to say.
You know what you still, Ithink you still have a lot to
teach other pitchers um, sitthere and be like a fucking
pitching coach for the dodgers.
Why the fuck not?
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
you know, yeah, you
still get a ring um exactly, but
I get it.
Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
Ain't.
No one ever wanted, no onewants to do it.
He wants to earn it.
Speaker 5 (01:27:02):
I get it so we do
need, I think, a little bit we.
I think we're good in thebullpen, but I think that Snell
would be.
He's definitely an alpha and Ithink he's definitely going to
fucking.
He goes deep into a game.
He does.
Six, seven innings is notunheard of.
I think that, hey, I'll behappy to watch him play, and
(01:27:27):
he's not pitching against us, sothat in itself is going to be
fucking huge.
He's someone else's problem now.
Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
Yes, exactly Because
he was a problem for the Dodgers
.
Speaker 5 (01:27:36):
So we'll see, we'll
see, we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Okay, good, I'm glad
those are good thoughts on it,
sir, but you know, to coin offwhat you're saying, I think that
, yeah, what you're saying.
I think that, yeah, him signingagain, not our problem,
somebody else's problem, perfectway to put it.
I love how you put that.
And he was an issue for theDodgers For those of you that
are fans and followed, like meand Serge know, because we're
big fans and we know he was abig issue in 2020.
(01:28:00):
Right, that World Series thatthey took him out of a chance
and they might have forced agame seven.
There was a chance of that.
You know what I mean, but theydidn't keep him in and I know
the Dodgers in that situationwould have kept him in.
He was pitching that fuckinggood, but you know it is what it
is.
He was an issue back then forus and he was again.
He won the Cy Young, I thinklast year or the year before.
He won it recently.
(01:28:28):
He's by for a good contract andhe wants to win a series.
Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
He got a good
contract and he wants a series.
He wants a few of them.
He wasn't going to get a ring.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
He knew that he
wasn't going to get one in a
Padre uniform and he knew hewasn't going to get one If he
didn't go to the Yankees, thePhillies, the Dodgers?
You're not, those are your topthree chances for a ring.
Let's be honest.
The Dodgers, yankees and thePhillies.
Let's be honest.
Speaker 5 (01:28:46):
Right now yes.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
Right now and the
Padres are going to try.
He was already a Padre.
He tried that.
Didn't like it, probably didn'tfuck with the team uniform.
I mean, who could blame him?
That shit's ugly as fuck.
Mustard yellow with brown shit, diarrhea color.
I'm sorry, padres, you guysneed to.
(01:29:08):
Really what one?
Yeah, that's fucking weird Inthe bright, yellow and pink.
Speaker 5 (01:29:10):
You saw that shit
Like what is the flamboyant shit
that's going on in that lockerroom, bro.
I had to look it up, I googledit and it said something about
San Diego wants you tounderstand their beautiful
flowers, floral arrangementsalong the fucking coastline.
So we're going to put a bunchof pretty colors on the uniform.
Dude, I'd quit the team.
Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
I'm done, it's acabo,
it's over.
Speaker 1 (01:29:27):
That's fucking caca
dude.
That's caca for sure, bro.
That's caca color dude, yeahdude.
Speaker 5 (01:29:34):
I'm going to do
another one for that.
Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
Who would wear that
proudly?
Speaker 5 (01:29:40):
I'm sitting there and
I would have looked at
whoever's in charge of theuniform and I would have just
bitch lapped them Just get out, just fucking get out, just at
that point, because you'recooked already.
Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
You're done, bro.
I feel like you're better off,just you're done.
You're done, you wear that shit.
You're sending the wrongmessages to people, bro.
You know what I mean it's like.
Come on, man.
I don't know, bro, Situationswith them.
I can go on all day.
Shit on that.
Speaker 4 (01:30:07):
But, yeah, but I'm
sorry, let's move past that None
of us do.
Speaker 5 (01:30:10):
Can you tell so,
whatever you would think we?
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
have this kind of
passion about the San Francisco
Giants, but we don't.
It's crazy, all right, butanyway.
Moving on, though, with theoffseason, teoscar Hernandez
turning down the qualifying deal, I kind of understand that.
Speaker 5 (01:30:24):
It sucks.
He wants more money.
The bottom line is he's old.
He is old.
The bottom line is he's old.
So they're not going to getmore money.
It's true.
Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
You're already up
there.
Look bro, you yourself evensaid it in the championship
congratulatory fucking speech atDodger Stadium after the parade
.
You even said it.
You were thankful for theopportunity to even play with
these guys to win a World Series.
Speaker 5 (01:30:42):
Look at him I mean,
hey, dude, he did great.
He did great.
I'm not taking that from him.
He did great.
I think you know what.
He definitely is one of theballplayers that contributed,
you know, big time.
To the championship win yeah Tothis fucking outcome.
But looking at him now.
If you've got to talk to him, what are your options?
Speaker 1 (01:30:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:30:59):
Where are you going
to go, Potentially win another,
and you know how much more moneyyou expect.
Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
I know exactly From
who else who's going to give it
to you as a contender, otherthan the three we named that are
probably not going to pay you?
No, they're not, I don't see it.
Speaker 5 (01:31:15):
It's not Otani money,
you know, by no means.
Speaker 3 (01:31:17):
but yeah, but.
Speaker 5 (01:31:19):
What are you going to
do?
Work at Home Depot, bro.
I mean you're going to.
It's still Home Depot.
It's still a pack of money, bro.
Teasca, teasca, I need onebarbacoa right there on the
fucking aisle.
Seven girl.
Speaker 3 (01:31:36):
They're going to ask
you for your paint advice and
your paint.
Bring down the palette.
Bring down the palette, dude.
No disrespect to you, bro.
You did contribute, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (01:31:43):
No, and I think it's
awesome they're looking about in
the future too man they.
Speaker 3 (01:31:46):
no doubt no, but
they're looking about in the
future too, man they cannot giveyou a crazy deal.
Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
There's still six
zeros behind that paycheck bitch
when you fucked exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:31:52):
Open your fucking
eyes, bro dude, like if they're
giving you a hundred thousanddollar deal.
I would feel offended too, butthat's not what they were doing.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:31:59):
that was your case
playing baseball yeah the
fucking sport you love factsgetting Yep, and there's still
six zeros behind your paycheckand you're complaining.
Yep, would you like seven zeros?
Who the fuck wouldn't?
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
Who the fuck wouldn't
, who the fuck wouldn't want
that right?
Speaker 5 (01:32:17):
But at the same time,
you know what bro Six, god six
ought to cover it bro.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Yeah, six ought to
cover it, bro, you're also ain't
20 years old.
Speaker 5 (01:32:24):
no more, bro, you're
also, you know what.
Speaker 3 (01:32:26):
You're not going
behind the ears.
Speaker 5 (01:32:29):
The only other
options, bro, is you know.
Speaker 3 (01:32:32):
Come work with us.
Yes, honestly, be smart.
Speaker 4 (01:32:36):
Come back with a team
that's probably going to repeat
Go back.
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
You want two rings
instead of one.
Stay a Dodger.
Take the qualifying offer, orat least take a little bit more.
Speaker 5 (01:32:43):
If they even give you
that, take it if they offer you
a little bit more, because Iwork with us.
Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
Facts, because I work
exactly to work with us,
because I think you're right, Ithink they actually still
negotiating his contract well, you know, they haven't, they
haven't, you know yeah look, heis what he is.
Speaker 5 (01:32:57):
I mean he's still,
like I said, he's still a ball
player and and very, I mean he'sa lot of clutch hits.
No, I agree, the guy's bat ison.
Look at when he threw outhomeboy at home blade, got an
arm still Fucking still has acannon.
Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
Still has a cannon.
Speaker 5 (01:33:10):
Yeah, man, still good
, he's worth money.
I'm not saying he's not, buthe's also fucking.
I mean, for baseball he's 200.
Yeah, I mean everybody wants afucking 20-year-old, they don't
want a 40-year-old, they're notgoing to give a 40-year-old, a
big-ass deal, no a 40-year-oldmight be young in the fucking
work world out here, but not inbaseball.
(01:33:31):
But not in baseball.
It's a young man's sport, right?
Not in most sports Period.
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
No sport's going to
give you a crazy, young, spry
contract for someone that'solder.
Speaking of that, though, totransition to the last topic of
the evening, speaking of a youngplayer like you, conor, what do
you think of?
Not 30, yet mid-20s, over 20,fucking Juan Soto, free agent
(01:33:56):
wants a lot of money.
Speaker 5 (01:34:00):
The Dodgers are
supposedly one of the favorites
to possibly sign him, or theother big two.
They're one of the fuckers thatcan afford him Exactly.
I don't know if it's one of the.
What do you think of Juan Sotoman?
Speaker 3 (01:34:07):
You saw the look on
his face.
I mean, right after the WorldSeries, this man did not
hesitate to say that any teamand I promise you, sir, not to
cut you off, sorry you shouldhave you will laugh if you watch
it.
I did I laughed.
No, I saw option.
Like these reporters are liketrying to beg this fool, almost
(01:34:28):
low key, to be like I'm comingback to New York.
You know what I mean.
But he kept saying no, everyteam has a chance.
He kept deflecting.
Like no, no, every, every teamwe're going to meet my agent are
going to listen to everybody.
Everybody has to say I careabout these guys, thanks for the
opportunity, but they are notthe only ones in the race here.
Speaker 5 (01:34:46):
But you know what I
was like damn.
You know what I also heard whenhe in that interview was did he
have?
That conversation but did hehave a conversation already with
the Yankees?
Maybe Did he have thatconversation and he looked at
him and went he might be right.
Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
Okay, cause,
basically with his words yeah,
the son of a bitch wants Otanimoney.
Yeah, he does.
Speaker 5 (01:35:07):
He's casting a crazy
number he wants half a billion
dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:35:10):
Yeah, he's nuts.
He's not going to get that.
Speaker 5 (01:35:12):
And you know what I
heard someone and I apologize
because I don't know his name.
It's not coming from me, butthe individual said straight out
Otani came on board and by allmeans let me just is, and as
amazing as it is to watch himplay, I wasn't a fan of him
coming to the Dodgers.
And it wasn't only because notbecause, dude, it's wow period,
(01:35:34):
I mean, that's all I can say towatch him play.
But I can't take my kids towatch a Dodger game anymore.
For me to go to damn Dodger Imean it's a $600, $700 fucking
day yeah, it's expensive as fuck.
It's $20, some odd dollars forit's, $50 to park, $20 for a
beer.
You're not wrong, I drink a lotof these.
(01:35:55):
Okay, so my ass got to take asecond out in the fucking house
and go see a fucking game andfuck you if it's a game like the
Yankees or someone.
Fucking Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
They're dicks.
The fucking Dodgers are goingto kick it up.
Speaker 5 (01:36:06):
You always say, yeah,
these will guess what the
ticket is.
Even the parking went up Out ofzero.
Speaker 3 (01:36:09):
You got to park
outside the stadium now to make
it work.
Yeah, fuck Fox.
Speaker 5 (01:36:12):
Fuck you, fuck you,
fuck the captain team okay.
Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
It's true, he's
charging us because that's all
Fox.
Speaker 5 (01:36:22):
Okay that I hope you
get married again and she takes
another half.
You, son of a bitch, yeah.
But with that said, though,Tony brought a fucking country
with him.
Yeah.
That son of a bitch they'retalking about.
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
And that's why they
made their 700 mil In the first
year, already in one year, justhaving him there, just having
him there.
Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
What did we say he
was making he's making $2
million a year.
Speaker 3 (01:36:46):
He's making fuck.
You know why, though?
Because I got, like I told you,off the record.
He's making about 50 to 60million in endorsements from new
balance nike, as he should.
He's straight bro.
So that alone his fucking wearour shit.
Here we go.
We're gonna pay you on top ofthat.
So not only does he probablyget free gear from them, but he
he's getting paid by them andhe's going to get like $680
(01:37:08):
million and that's outside ofhis MLB contract.
That's set for life, so hedon't give a fuck?
Speaker 5 (01:37:13):
Of course not.
Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
That's why he was
like I want to win championships
.
I came from a team because hewas already getting that
endorsement while he was inAnaheim, so he's like I want to
win championships now.
It's not about the money for me.
He'll take the money later inlife.
Speaker 5 (01:37:25):
But with that said,
though, Otani is not the only
thing you need to win a ring.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (01:37:32):
If that was the
situation the.
Angels would have fucking hadhow many rings.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
That's true.
Okay, but Otani wasn't in theWorld Series.
Look, I'll give Otani this.
He showed up during thepostseason when it came up to
the NLCS and onward, but thenwhen it came to up to the NLCS
and onward, but then when itcame to the World Series, let's
be honest, he didn't really domuch.
Speaker 5 (01:37:51):
He didn't do a whole
lot, a couple of doubles here
and there, but I don't know ifwe would have been there without
him.
That part, no, no, no, that'swhat I said.
Same thing goes for Muncie,right?
Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
I mean obviously
Muncie Fucking Muncie, Muncy to
Otani.
Speaker 4 (01:38:03):
Don't confuse my
words, but what I'm saying I
agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
You're basically
going off of what I said, which
is true, I agree.
They didn't get there withoutthem either, though, let's be
honest, they didn't get to theWorld Series without Otani.
Speaker 5 (01:38:19):
They got there with
Otani.
You can't just base theirentire career on one game.
Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
They have a cold
series, or even a cold series.
Yeah, it happens.
Speaker 5 (01:38:26):
Okay, fine, but you
know what You've also got
150-some-odd games that you'vegot to fucking count in there I
mean no, you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
Who the fuck else hit
50-50 or 50-58 fucking season?
No one had a 50-58 season otherthan him this year Nobody.
Speaker 5 (01:38:43):
There's no such thing
as a seven-foot Asian cat that
can fucking smack the ball overthe fence, steal second base and
then throw your ass out at home.
Speaker 4 (01:38:50):
Nope.
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
It doesn't exist it
doesn't exist, bro, best son of
a bitch was made in a goddamnfucking.
That's why it's funny you saythat, serge, because I don't
know if you knew this.
His nickname is actually theycall him the unicorn.
Are you fucking A?
He's every fucking day.
He's a fucking unicorn.
Speaker 5 (01:39:05):
Let's call him
bigfoot I mean, many have said
he exists, but no one has seenhim there.
He is, yep, he's there.
We have him on the dodgers wehave on dodgers.
He's la dodger but soto, nowgoing back to where we're
initially talking about goodsoto's not a tiny.
Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
He's not okay, he's
not worth no 700 million like I
said, I was listening to a he'sgood a podcast and someone
always said you what Otani islike the full fucking thing.
Speaker 5 (01:39:30):
He brought a whole
fucking country with him, dude.
You know his ability to youknow as far as to make money or
make money off of him.
Yeah, his revenue, his worth isdeep beyond.
I mean they've alreadysupposedly.
I have no idea, I'm not thefucking accountant for the
Dodgers, but they've alreadymade their $700 million on him.
Speaker 3 (01:39:48):
Oh, I believe it.
So paying him is going to benothing to them.
Speaker 5 (01:39:50):
And then that same
commentator turns around and
looks and he goes Soto's, notOtani.
Yeah.
Soto's a great ball player, butthat's all he is.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
Yeah, he's a $300
million.
He's a $300 million guy.
Speaker 5 (01:40:09):
If even that I mean,
but not not an old, fucking 700,
crazy 700 million.
He wants five plus.
And I mean, if you tell mehonestly, if I had a choice
between um soto and judge, I'dpick judge oh, I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
And what?
Did judge get 320, something, Ithink so he did not, and he
took that number, he did now.
Speaker 5 (01:40:22):
Granted, I honestly
believe that that's some bitches
involved with the mafia, because I think that's some
bitch.
Even consider leaving thefucking Yankees.
I can't even talk to him.
Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
Really, I agree, I
believe it.
I never heard this.
Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
I'm staying with the
Yankees.
Speaker 5 (01:40:33):
No, that sumbitch.
I mean how many times heentertained the Dodgers, he
entertained the Padres.
Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
He entertained the.
Speaker 5 (01:40:38):
Giants, the Giants
venue around there.
Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
Yeah, I heard that
they had the biggest leg on him.
He was about to sign in SanFrancisco bro, and then dude
someone in fucking New.
Speaker 1 (01:40:49):
York said no you're
not, no, you're not.
Speaker 5 (01:40:51):
No, you're not dude.
Not only are you coming back, you're taking a fucking pay cut.
Explain to me why he went backto the Yankees for like $200
million less.
Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
He probably wanted it
exactly because he could have
got a fatter paycheck, bro, hemight have been threatened.
Speaker 5 (01:41:07):
That's a good fucking
I'm wondering that sumbitch
belongs to somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
Yeah, dude you make a
very good point there.
Speaker 5 (01:41:12):
I didn't know, I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
But you know what.
Speaker 5 (01:41:16):
But even then, what
do you think his chances are?
Speaker 3 (01:41:18):
I would take his ass
over Soto, I agree, but
obviously he's not on theplaying field, right?
Speaker 5 (01:41:24):
now.
Well, no, some bitch is signed.
What are you signing Exactly?
Like fucking 10 years orwhatever the fuck it is, I think
so he's locked up the rest ofhis career.
He's done by the time hiscontract's over he's no good,
exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
So what do you think
the likelihood of the Dodgers
signing Soto is?
Speaker 5 (01:41:37):
I don't think so.
Soto's commanding too muchmoney.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
Maybe, I think he
should If he values.
I think he should too.
If you value winningchampionships now because we're
a win-now team the Dodgers are awin-now team it would be wise
to go be a Dodger.
Speaker 5 (01:41:53):
Just because.
But is Soto a fit in theDodgers?
Speaker 3 (01:41:56):
I don't know that
part is true, Because you know
what.
Speaker 5 (01:41:59):
Look at Puig, for
example.
Speaker 3 (01:42:01):
Yeah, Incredible
player, just player, just
terrible in the locker room.
Speaker 5 (01:42:05):
Terrible, terrible
player off field that some bitch
apparently was like what didyou do?
Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
now, yeah, he's one
of those all right, it was bad,
and I even heard he had weirdways of coming in.
This is off topic, but I heardthat he got smuggled from cuba,
owed the cartel some money orsome shit for it.
I wouldn't doubt it tried toavoid them, they tried to have
them killed and shit.
At one point it got ugly.
Bro, I don't know theories, itmight be wrong.
Take it with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't want to get
involved with that.
(01:42:29):
That's insane, bro.
It's scary too, yeah, butanyway, um, anyway, enough
enough with that, though, but um, I don't really have much else
to add, brother, I think it'spretty much push touch base here
I think so, completely, man.
Speaker 5 (01:42:38):
I think so, yeah,
angry enough I think we did get
angry enough.
