Today’s episode is building on our recent chat about being truthful with ourselves - we’re talking about bringing that self awareness and truth into our relationships.
Most of us have developed codependent and people pleasing tendencies as a means of safety and survival in a world that rewards compliance with a sense of belonging.
Even if this means denying the truth of our own needs and desires, and suppressing our most potent selves.
Belonging trumps authenticity in most cases as it’s more closely tied in with our survival.
In codependency, both people are sourcing something of value from the relationship, however this is often “at the expense of our own needs, sense of self and overall wellbeing” (Liberated Love).
We all deserve to live deliciously rich lives as the most potent versions of ourselves without having to abandon parts of who we are.
In this episode we explore how can we start to move towards this level of truthfulness in a way that feels safe for us.
