When we are born of the Spirit, we receive new life in Christ. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we receive power — the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and ignited the early church. Jesus never presented the Holy Spirit as something that simply happens to us. He called Him a gift from the Father, meant to be asked for, waited for, and received.
