It’s February and it’s the month of love and friendship. Its also fitting that February is the shortest month which reminds us that love is fleeting and often short-lived. This week we are focusing on relationships so crappy, they made the news. We are talking about secret lovers and the mess they left in their wake. Nydia shares the story of Pamela Smart. Hers was the first-ever televised trial and some wonder if she got a fair deal. We invite you to be the judge. Dana tells us about Elizabeth Turpin, who together with her lover, Karen Brown, plotted a plan to kill her husband, Michael Turpin. Cindy shares a listener story about a relationship betrayal that will have you questioning love.
For dinner this week, Cindy cooked up some basic spaghetti and meatballs ala Lady and the Tramp. For dessert, she made us chocolate-covered strawberry brownies using a recipe from the Colleen Christensen nutrition website. The meal was paired with a 2019 Fattoria Lucignano Chianti. A medium intensity dry red wine with intense fruity aromas.

Camp Hell: Anneewakee
The Anneewakee Treatment Center for Emotionally Disturbed Youth operated in Douglasville, Georgia for over 25 years. Purportedly, it was a place that parents could send their troubled kids for help. But in reality, it was a breeding ground for abuse. This is the story of Anneewakee, as never told before.
This is what the news should sound like. The biggest stories of our time, told by the best journalists in the world. Hosted by Michael Barbaro. Twenty minutes a day, five days a week, ready by 6 a.m.
