Tara is the founder of Conscious Travel Collective, the sustainable travel company specializing in small group and tailored private trips. Tara’s strongly held belief is it’s the human connections and moments of self-discovery that are the most valuable gifts of travel. Her mission in leading Conscious Travel Collective is to utilize the opportunity of travel to illuminate how travelers can not only have a more meaningful experience with the places they visit, but to offer new awareness on issues that harm destinations, and how to better global stewards.
Since its launch in 2022, Tara and her team have worked to champion ethical business practices, and pay equity, with each trip designed for an average of 20 touchpoints, through exclusively direct local partnerships. Tara holds a certificate in Sustainable Tourism Management from George Washington University. Tara also contributes time to RISE Travel Institute, where she’s volunteered since shortly after they launched in 2020. When she is not on the road, she loves coming home to Brooklyn, New York. You can find her working (or sometimes napping) at her local park, never without headphones to take in a podcast or audio book, and being in love with her city!
