我们本专栏的上篇文章在介绍了2022年中共二十大召开前夜被宣布撤消党内职务、终止十九大代表资格的前山西省政协主席李佳之后，又介绍了李佳落马之前的2021年，全国范围内也是只有一个省政协主席落马，即当年2月21日被中纪委第十二监察调查室主任指挥到场警员直接从贵州省委慰问老干部的会场上当众抓捕押送北京的王富玉。此时的王富玉已经从贵州省政协主席位置上退休三年了。
2018年1月贵州省政协换届时，已经年过65岁的王富玉把省政协主席职务交棒给了时任贵州省委常委兼组织部长刘晓凯。3年之后的2021年02月21日，中纪委网站发布王富玉因涉嫌严重违纪违法正在接受审查调查的消息。当年8月16日，中纪委国家监委网站发布开除王富玉党籍和将其涉嫌犯罪问题移送检察机关依法审查起诉的消息。
中纪委通报中说他王富玉严重违反党的政治纪律、组织纪律、廉洁纪律和生活纪律，构成严重职务违法并涉嫌犯罪，且在党的十八大后不收敛不收手，甚至党的十九大后仍不知止，性质严重，影响恶劣。其违纪违法的罪行主要有：违规收受礼品礼金，多次接受私营企业主安排打高尔夫球、乘坐私人飞机；在组织人事方面违规为他人谋利，通过民间借贷获取大额回报；生活奢靡腐化，道德沦丧，家风败坏；利用职务便利和影响力在工程承揽、土地开发、企业经营等方面为他人谋利，并非法收受巨额财物，直至退休后仍大肆收钱敛财。
