我们夜话中南海专栏的上篇文章《王忍之顶着榆木脑袋陪伴邓力群去了》介绍了中共政权的前中宣部长王忍之自在一九九二年十月召开的中共十四大上落选中央委员之后落魄和郁闷到了何种程度，一篇刊登于左网《昆仑策》上的纪念文章《他在春光中归去——深切缅怀王忍之同志》有所披露。文章作者胡澄夸赞王忍之“不以个人的进退荣辱为怀”。说“忍之同志在中宣部部长的任上，对于历史虚无主义者、新自由主义者和资产阶级自由化分子们进行了英勇的斗争。后来形格势禁，忍之同志为党为国隐忍多年……。’
去年8月，可能是因为听说王忍之来日无多而悲从中来，这个胡澄就已经在同一左刊上发表过一篇歌颂王忍之的文章《王忍之同志谈反对资产阶级自由化》。文中说：“大家知道王忍之同志曾任中共中央宣传部部长，在当年反对资产阶级自由化的斗争中，他挺立阵头，以身作则。后来虽然屈子见谗，行吟泽畔，但是一片精忠，耿耿于世！……我曾拜见过王忍之同志多次，但从来没有见过他放声大笑过，为国隐忍沉郁之情令人钦敬。”
