Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Let's go around the room. What's on your mind today?
I want to get deep into your head. We're starting
jingle ball season is officially here. It's December, Like it's
a whole new frame of mind, especially you know, Thanksgiving
kicks it off. And even though she says Halloween's her
favorite time of year, I don't know. I think you're
kind of like Christmas too.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Right, I just love the time day season mix.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, here she goes, Yeah, we'll start with you. What's
on your mind today?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
So?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I did something this weekend that I haven't done in
a while. I took a forty eight hour break from
social media. So I how they go, It was amazing.
I didn't check it, I didn't post. I did other things.
I had more time to bake, I had more time
to prepare my breakfast for this morning, more family time.

(00:51):
I felt like I was more in the moment with things,
and I didn't reach for my phone every time I there.
There was like a boring moment, like I did something
else to fill the time and it was so fantastic.
And then I looked at my screen time like after
and I'm like, wow, this is amazing. So I am
definitely gonna do this more often, and I think on

(01:12):
a daily basis, I'm going to put it down more
often and not be on it as much, even if
it's just not a full cleanse, just kind of like,
you know what, put it aside. If I don't look
at it, I'm not gonna grab it. And I loved it.
It was awesome. Everybody needs to do this for themselves.
You gonna love it.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I read an article over the weekend. I'm going to
try to find it so we can I can try
to sound somewhat intelligently about the topic. The topic was
how our brains are being rewired because of our locked
in mode with social media. It rewires the way you
look at things, where you sit in the world, and
it's bigger. The impact is bigger than we ever ever

(01:50):
would have guessed. I'm gonna get into that in a minute.
So hearing someone say they took a forty eight hour
break from social media, it's even though scary missed you.
He wondered where you were. I told something. She's always
monitoring way something, something devastating must be going. Daniels not
on social media. Hey, what's up with you today? Frog?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
So I thought I had found a way to save
some money during the holiday season, but they got caught.
I was making the trek to the mailbox before Lisa
could get there every day and taking the coupons that
are coming, so therefore she couldn't then go and be
encouraged to do shopping.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
That she figured me out.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
She went to throw something in the garbage in the
garage and saw all these Wait a second, where did
all these go?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
So kind of backfired.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
But it is a good plan if you, if your
significant other likes the shop, just make it to the
mailbox first and throw out all those by ken percent
get this kid back?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
What if she pays full price anyway? And because she
doesn't have a coupon.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I heard the worst girl math of I've ever heard.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Lisa said to me, you miss one hundred percent of
the sales you don't take part in.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
No, there you go, No, no, and no, that's the numbers.
The numbers don't lie.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I'm with her, I agree, I.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Mean, of course you do. I found it over the weekend.
I've found out over the weekend that Alex throws things
away behind my back all the time. And someone told me,
he said, they said, you know, he throws these things away.
I'm like what, So I couldn't said I confronted him,
what are you throwing away? The list is long, and
the thing is no offense to me or him or whatever.

(03:20):
I don't miss whatever he threw away.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
So I just you know what I'm saying, I don't
know who was there in the first place.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
You kind of like, you know, it's not just the
thing you accept once you're married, that your significant other
is going to throw away your stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
No, you should never. You should never throw something away
that doesn't belong to you really, except to them. But
what was it? Look producer, Sam, are you throwing some
of will stuff away?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
You know what?

Speaker 6 (03:42):
If it's there for a month and a half and
I tell him it's not the spot, it might disappear
around month two or three, it happens.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
It just happened. Wow, Wow, all right, what's up your
mind today? What's on your mind? Sneaky? Sneaky throwing stuff away?
Think you really shouldn't throw stuff away.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
I hope he's not listening right now. All right, all right,
so I've been accused of being a little hippity dippity
in mind. And that's kind of hard to contest today
because it is the first of the month, which means
I encourage all of you to put a little ground
cinnamon on your palm. Don't worry, Gandhi. It's not for eating,
and you blow it into your doorway, and it's supposed
to be something for it.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
It's a ritual.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
It's for prosperity, abundance manifestation, and you're supposed to give
yourself a wish for the month, and it's really supposed
to help out. And if you look it up, people
swear by it. So do it and then you just,
you know, dust up some cinnamon tomorrow morning. It's not
a big deal. But good luck to you, and I
hope you have ground cinnamon ready for good wishes.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
All right?

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Nice?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
You know, Gandhi loves cinnamon.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Just picturing the wind just attacking me with all this
cinnamon flying.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Why do you hate cinnamon? Did something happen as a child?
You just don't like the flavor.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
I don't like the flavor, but more so than the flavor,
I really hate the smell.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I love smells like cinnamon at the holiday yeah, I
know a lot of people love it.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Yeah, what's on your mind today other than your hatred?
For all right?

Speaker 5 (04:55):
I found one of my favorite quotes again over the
weekend and I wanted to share it with you all.
To fall asleep, you must first pretend to be asleep,
and that's how everything else works.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
And I think say that again, to.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Fall asleep, you must first pretend to be asleep, and
that is how everything else works. And I love that
because there are so many things in life that that
applies to, where sometimes you really do just have to
fake it till you make it. Act confident. You will
find the confidence if you go into a job maybe
you aren't so sure. Be confident in yourself, act like
you've been there, and you will learn along the way.
So keep that in mind.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Okay, I use that, Bake it to you, make it
a couple of times this past weekend with people.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Yeah, I think it works. Unless you're like a surgeon.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Don't do that.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
But you know, don't you please don't do that, Nate,
what's on your mind today?

Speaker 3 (05:41):
If you play the New York Times games, I'm talking
about that word and connections every day?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Do you have hips? No? I haven't done pips.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I've been doing pips for months now, and it has
gotten insanely hard. I did the hard level they have easy, medium,
and hard. It took me twenty seven minutes and forty
eight second Yesterday I spent a half hour of my
time trying to line up dominoes to be in the
proper place my problem.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
It's just the problem at all. So that's not much more.
That's great, that's that's good for your brain. It's good.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
It's fantastic for your brain. I agree with that, But
I think the person behind it is making them purposefully
extra hardly.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Of course they are, Yeah, you figure it out right away.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
It was impossible yesterday. I just I almost a half hour,
so I know the text day. If you think level,
what was the level of satisfaction when you finished?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I mean she was so pissed off. I was so
pissed off. I used to be proud. Wait, you should
be happy. I should be, But I just because it
tip took me so much less time. Prior weeks ago,
I could get the difficult one done in two minutes.
Now it's taken me a half hour.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I think they're doing something behind the scenes there all.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Right, Well, they're supposed to. I'm in I'm gonna I'm
gonna start pips this week. Hey, how scary? What's up
with you today? You know, just like everybody in this room.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
I also waved the flag of radio anywhere any chance
I get. However, I have to call it like I
see it. Parades don't play well on the radio. Our
local news radio station was like promoting, make sure you
tune in to listen to our coverage of the Thanksgiving
Day parade.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
But how do you do that? You have to use
words to paint pictures of the floats. It's all descriptions.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
And you do the same thing on the fourth of
July with the fireworks. It's like tune in for the fireworks.
So I guess you can hear the crackles, but at least, but.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
You can't see the float. Do you see the SpongeBob?

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Like?

Speaker 1 (07:33):
How do they just got the SpongeBob float? Here comes
the big yellow SpongeBob.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
I think radio should stay out of the business of
broadcasting parades.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
No, there's money there. They will go where there's money.
I loved watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Loved it, and
it was in bed with the dogs, fireplace roaring, and
it was just it was as great to watch it,
and it was great to see Ajda on on NBC again.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
It was so cool to see her.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I love that, and of course the whole thing. I
just I loved the musicians and you're right, Gandhi, a
lot of the people in that parade have been to
our show recently.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
It felt like the parade of Elvis Durant guests. I
was like, oh, they were just here, they were just here.
We had e J from K Pop, Demon Hunters, we
had Matteo Bcele, we had Callum Scott, Little John Shaggy.
I mean, it was like everyone.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
It was the Elvis duran Morning Show parade. I loved it.
We'll take we'll take ownership, bust the rockets. Look at that.
