Episode 4 — Webb Space Telescope and the history of Hubble
February 23, 2016•22 min
It’s decades in the making — the James Webb Space Telescope is on time, still somewhat on budget and ready to launch into space late 2018. The discoveries that await us can very well detect alien life in our lifetime. Or the crank that is meant to expand the telescope in space could get too cold and not work. It’s a marvel of modern scientific thinking. We look at the history of the Hubble Telescope and the troubles it faced and what the Webb Telescope can mean for discovery. We also look at the Apollo 10 mysterious alien sounds, massive black holes and a gravitational wave update.
