Writing this for a personal sense of closure. I had an allergic reaction to medication in a hospital which caused a seizure that closed my windpipe. This happened late at night in a rural hospital and some protocols were not followed. So it took the nursing staff a few minutes to respond to what was happening. Luckily I survived and left this experience with a much different perspective on life. Here is an account of my experience....

Didn't matter if we beat it to the room we figured out it was moving towards, screamed at it, wore crucifixes and prayed it away, it would arrive nonetheless. Pressure, cold, lights out. I was adopted. I never knew my real mother; rather, I knew her at one time but I left her side when I was too little to be able to remember. I loved my adopted family though. They were so kind to me.
