Richmond demands his Earldom but flees when Richard brushes him off. Ratcliffe brings news that the Bishop of Ely has joined Richmond. When Elizabeth and the Duchess confront him, Richard uses the opportunity to convince Elizabeth to give him her daughter in marriage in order to preserve her line. He celebrates his triumph until Stanley informs him that Richmond is on his way to England, sending him into a rage.
