We are honored to have a liveband. It is not the first time
this band has played for our show, and it is not the first time
this band has played for our showin this building. But it's gonna be

(09:28):
a lot of fun, even thoughwe have a lot of giveaways during the
break. Yes, they were herelast year, so every single commercial break
you'll be treated a live music inthe back. It is the PBJ trio.
The P stands for Presston, theB for Emmy Sucks, and the
James for Jack's Cunningham. So theywill rock us during the commercial breaks and
well some other times as well. We're very excited to have them here at

(09:52):
a heck of a job last year, did a heck of a job at
the Rock and Bruise in Buena Parkthe year before, and so we're excited
and happy that they are donating theirtime and doing it again today. Oh
okay it, who wants to talkabout El Segundo? You're all I need
attention now. This is important. It's not like we're talking about sports.

(10:13):
This is important stuff. Give mea rock and roll bed before we have
to talk to Gene Simmons tongue. What a time to be alive, everybody,
because here we are in the shadowof the refinery in beautiful El Segundo,
California. Great town, an originalvenue, an original great sports talk
radio show. Isn't this great?Great sports talk, great sports talk,

(10:39):
and the community of great sports talkin this very significant center of oil and
aerospace, the two industries that holdEl Segundo together. Standard Oil nineteen seven.

(11:01):
The company renamed in nineteen eighty fourto what Chevron is right, Thank
you, sir. It's a manwho knows his oil and refineries. Did
you know can you turn that downa little in my ear, Katie?
Did you know that the oil refinerytakes up over a quarter of the city
of El Segundo's space? What don'tboo? They only tell the only reason

(11:26):
that the whole city's here. Wow, we fell in love with this venue
a couple of years ago, andhere we are again, a great community
with our community. And did youknow did any of you know that Bill
Shakins dying La Times and the newspaperindustry is headquartered here in El Segundo's right

(11:48):
since twenty eighteen They left the citydowntown with their tail between their legs.
And I would I would just liketo reiterate for sure, there was like
a huge, huge crash today computersand planes fell out of the sky and
everybody's flight got canceled. I don'tthink any fell out of the sky.
Well, I don't know. Idon't think anything. I don't think they

(12:09):
ever got off the ground. Andthere's the opposite of if you were in
the sky and it happened like Ytwo K injected into space and then you
know, people went to the bankand it was like nineteen twenty and their
money was gone. Why did thathappen today? Because of the digital world.
We are the last bastion of hopein the world of radio AM radio.

(12:31):
When the world ends, Matt andI will be here complaining about Brownie
James. That's exactly right, shoutout seeing the people appreciate that. Thank
you, and you know, lettoday you know it's frightening when there's a
cyber attack, but today all youpeople figure out where your bread is buttered.
Forget about Twitter, forget about Facebook. Send us a handwritten note and

(12:56):
we'll announce it over the AM band. Exactly. That's the way we operate
here. We will be the onesto save society in the post apocalyptic world.
And let today's thing be a lessonto you. And speaking of the
La times for shame where it's shakenanyway, the mass. We got two

(13:18):
publications here in El Segundo, andI would like to know if they're represented
here at the show, because thisshould be a pretty big community event.
I'd like to think so nobody honorsthe local media rags like Matt and I.
It's not close. You've got theEl Segundo Herald, community newspaper established

(13:41):
in nineteen eleven. Looking for thestaff photographer. I don't see him anybody.
Six years before the city was incorporated, the El Segundo Herald was in
circulation. Anybody know, No,Okay, missed on that one. There's
a monthly arts and culture publication calledthe El Segundo Scene Cultured. And this
is our is the El Segundo Scenein the house, only been around six

(14:05):
years. Not seeing ah, notseeing an easoul or anybody painting a little
uh portrait of us up here.So I'm gonna say now they're not here
either, like a court reporter.Exactly right. If you were inspired by
this talk show here in El Segundo, know that the El Segundo Historical Committee
Museum is right here too, inthe old og tank house for Standard Oil.

(14:30):
Is anybody anybody? No? AnybodyElsegundo Museum? Anybody? And does
anybody know what Elseegundo means? Yes? Yes, but why it was the
second refinery site on the West coastfor standard oil. But this is not
the second show we've done here. It's actually the fourth and perhaps the most

(14:52):
highly anticipated and I believe our favoriteEl Segundo fun fact is what El Segundo
is in the Guinness Book of WorldRecords. It's for effect for having the
most roads with a hill or greatmaybe not the steepest great, but a

(15:13):
great. This is the hilliest cityin the world. That doesn't get applause.
So when you're screwed today that doesn'tget applause, I don't know what
the hell's gonna get applause around here. When you're rolling around walking in Elsegunda
here, you're walking around in ElSegunda, you think everything's cool, somebody
could be hiding at the bottom ofthe hill waiting to swoop you in the
cut. We've never talked to themayor here or city council. We have

(15:37):
not. We come here and theyact like we don't exist, but we
always have the nice people to comeout and support us. We'd rather talk
to the lay people, and they'vecome as far as Hawthorne and even the
city that no one says they livein North Redondo. You asked way now
it's true. You ask somebody ifthey live in North Redondo, they'll tell

(16:02):
you they live in Manhattan. Beach. Or they'll tell you they live in
Redondo and you say, no,you live in North Redondo, and they
get very resentful. Those people onthe other side of Aviation Boulevard are very
resentful. There's nothing wrong with NorthRedondo, but they don't want to say
that. Who here came from NorthRedondo. Reveal yourself and be honest.
Thank you sir too, thank you, thank you in the back, thank

(16:27):
you. North Redondo is a greattown. Paul Westfall went to Aviation High.
It's something we can all be proudof. And yet oh I live
in Manhattan Beach. No, youdon't, you act like it. It's
true, Matt. Anyway, keepyour head on a swivel. Also,
when you leave town, the ElSegunda police are notorious for not liking non

(16:52):
locals. I'm serious, and I'mtalking North Redondo everything. So don't let
your freak flag fly, don't lightup your due be or anything until you
get out of El Segundo. Onceyou hit Supulvida, you're good to go.
I think we're good. I thinkwe're all caught up. Okay,
no, no, no, weneed to have a great day. We've
got a live band, we havea ton of stuff to give away.

(17:15):
Tim Kates is gonna do Marongo CasinoDodgers on debt from here. An extra
hour coming your way. We're notWe used to put baby in the corner.
We used to sweep Kates to theside, and he crouched down and
did the show like he was callingin the airstrike in Vietnam. And Kate's,
you know, Kate's that was notcool. It's not a good way

(17:36):
to No, that's not a goodway to treat The host of Marongo Casino
Dodgers on Deck came off vacation,so we're early. We're gonna get a
big thrown up here and he's gonnasit here and he's gonna do the pregame
show because baseball is back tonight, exactly right. And as we said,
we got a bunch of tickets togive away. We got the Otani jersey
to give away. We have liveguests that will join us beginning this hour.

(17:56):
As a matter of fact, JeeneSimmons on the telephone next, very
excited to uh get this thing kickedoff that way, and then Brendan Rice,
who has arrived. As a matterof fact, we'll join us at
three forty five to talk, followedby Eric Musselman, followed by Steve Sach's
gonna be a great afternoon. Thankyou everybody for coming here. We certainly
appreciate it. Stick around and holdon to your tickets because every single commercial

(18:18):
break we're given something away. Whenwe return, Gene Simmons will join us
on the telephone. On the telephone, petro sayd Money Live on location hel
Segundo. We will be here untilsix pm. Tim Kates will be here

(18:45):
until seven pm doing pregame for theDodgers. Brendan Rice is here and join
some rock and Bruce Fair he willjoin us in the very next segment,
but joining us right now. That'sright on your Southern California Toyota Dealers Celebrity
online, joining us right now.One of the great rock stars in the

(19:06):
history of rock and room, aninnovator, a man of great character,
yeah and wit, information, heart, soul, talent, and of course
we're here in the very first everRock and Bruise from the great Gene Simmons

(19:27):
of Kiss, a hero to thepeople, joining us on the Petrosen Money
Show. And this is not thefirst time. It is not that we've
talked to Gene Simmons. What's cracking? Gene? How are you? I've
got two questions, one of whichis how long have you tube been a
couple? Him and I we've beenaround about twenty years. Twenty years,

(19:47):
no, but you know that otherway, And then the other onteen what
do you want? I have nocomments though that's a jail talk w I
come from. But speaking of potatochips and the other the question I thought
was, Gene, I wonder ifthey're gonna introduce me as Richard Simmons,
And so that was a concern. No, rough week for him, good
week for you. That's right,Gee, much better to be Gene this

(20:11):
week. Yeah, you know you'reright, and I'm glad you asked me.
Uh the song you played just nowfor the introduction, I was Made
for Love and you just hit abillion strings. It's one of the few
songs that has that distinction. It'sa it's interesting, Gene. Know we'll
start there. I guess because youyou write songs. Paul write songs.

(20:32):
Ace you know wrote col Jin PeterChris sang on on hard Luck Woman wrote
a song. I can't remember whathe wrote, but it's how do you
decide like I would assume you allshow up to uh, you know,
when you guys are gonna put analbum together, how do you decide whose
songs get on? Did it everget personal if if your song wasn't where
you wanted it to be? No, no, never did. Ace actually
wrote most of cole Jen. Icontributed the bridge and something like that.

(20:56):
But he turned and said, Gene, you should saying this because I don't
have the right voice, although hislifestyle did on one side with you know
what he was writing about. Best. Peter got songwriting credits, but Peter
was never a songwriter. He didn'tplay a musical instrument. It was written
by a god named Well, itdoesn't matter. Peter's our songwriting credit,

(21:18):
but he wound up singing it.But you know, generally speaking, the
songs I wrote, I sang, the songs Paul wrote, he sang.
Except when we had producers in.Paul actually wrote God of Thunder and it
was Bob Ezron, our producer atthat time. They said, Paul,
you can't sing that. You don'thave the right boys Jeans should sing that.
Yeah, the Great Gene Simmons iswith us. We are at the

(21:42):
Great Gene Simmons Rock and Bruise inEl Segunda. You're still playing Gene Simmons
band. You're headed to Europe, you got festivals, you got a ton
of shows over there. You wereplaying over here as well. You know,
the road can be wonderful and itcan also be a real pain in
the ass. So, with allyour success and you probably you don't have
to work another day for the restof your life, why are you still

(22:02):
playing? Why do you want tokeep doing it? Well? What are
you going to do? Sit onyour thumb and wait? The time?
I thought life was about. Ifyou can get up in the morning and
okay, you've got a roof overyour head, you've got food in your
belly. So what do you do? Watch three runs of isleve Lucy yet
again. You got to get outthere and you have the heart pumping and

(22:23):
speaking of rock and booze, forthose of you who are first timers,
go to Rock and Bruce brws dotcom. You'll be able to see what
our beautiful menu is. It's reallydelicious stuff. You should come out find
out. We've got twenty five locationsacross California, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin,

(22:44):
Washington, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, all over the place, and
we recently opened another casino, Hugeone, and Carter, Wisconsin for the
Potawatami tribe, and just lots ofon stuff. Every day above nowns a
good day, my mother used toYeah, without a doubt. The Great
Gene Simmons joining us on the telephone. We're at his restaurant, Rock and

(23:07):
Bruce El Segundo Pettersen Money Show onM five seventy LA sports a couple since
two thousand and seven. Exactly right, Gene, are you surprised at the
success of these restaurants. I mean, you've had a lot of success in
life, but being a restaurant touris not easy. Did you think it
would grow like it has? Well, firstly, it always takes a team.

(23:30):
I'm not the only guy, youknow. Somebody talks to me about
Kiss and they say, you knowyou're you're you did such a great thing.
Well, it's like, you know, I'm part of it. They
are always team members. Paul becamea partner, and it takes division of
labor. You don't want to cook, I certainly don't want to cook because

(23:52):
I can't, and you want toget the right people it's always about a
team. You cannot do it allyourself because you're not clus by to do
all that stuff. So Rock andBooze has a philosophy that the experience of
going to Rock and Booze begins withthat very first person who greets you at
the door. I mean, youcan go to a good eatery have some

(24:15):
good food over there, but ifan asshole greets you at the front door,
the whole experience is not good. That's right, So you want to
get the right people because it isultimately not people. You can eat at
home, you don't have to gooutside. So it's a privilege and an
honor when somebody takes the time andspends the money to come out and,
you know, eat at one ofour rock and booths. The least we

(24:37):
could do is treat them the wayyou would treat somebody who comes over to
your house to dinner. You're notgoing to cook a leftovers. You want
it to be fresh and good. You want to be friendly, and you
know, because it's your home. That's how we think of Rock and Booze.
You come to our Rock and Booze, you're coming to our home.
Well, we are looking at Jennaand Katie right now, and they certainly

(24:59):
make us off Belder great hospitality. They're doing a bang up job here.
Gene Simmons is with us. Itdoesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt that they're
honked exactly right. Well, comeon, g I mean, come on,
that's the body. You know whatwe're in. Gene, been a
couple since seven. Nowadays you can't. You can't compliment or flatter or anything.
So no comment, No you can. You can do it on the

(25:22):
telephone. Though. You wrapped itup, Gene. I mean you have
been the kisses in the conversation asthe greatest touring band in the history of
music. You wrapped it up atMSG your backyard. You're a New Yorker
where you grew up. It's everybasketball player's favorite spot. It's the arena
every rock band dreams of playing. Is it the best? Is it or

(25:44):
is it just the location New YorkCity? Is it the reputation? Is
it your favorite? Well, it'sEverything you do in life is emotional.
Everything Every song you sing or areconnected to is really a soundtrack of life.
And that's what makes songs stand out. People get married to the songs

(26:04):
they grew up with people ask voiceto songs. Funerals have songs. We
marched the songs, the military havesongs. Everything's about songs, because without
music, life would be a doubleplace. Madison Square We've played all over
the world, but when we playMadison Square Garden, it's only ten blocks

(26:26):
up from where we rehearsed and wherewe started on East twenty third Street.
Madison Square Garden is on West thirtythird Street, literally ten blocks up.
So for us, you know,it's the beginning. It's just like fish,
you know, they go back towhere they spawned. For us,
it was very emotional, but atsome point you have to leave home.

(26:47):
You know, you can't live atmom's basement forever. Geene, we love
talking to you. You know. There's some of the songs that you wrote
are fifty years old and they stillresonate today, and people that are are
were born thirty years later know himevery single word, every every note.
People don't make music like that anymore. It feels like, what's wrong with

(27:08):
modern music, Gene? Why whydon't they Why don't they make good music?
They are the anthems? What thehell? There's nothing wrong with it.
It's just a different generation. Everygeneration's got it, you know,
its own thing. There's lots ofgood bands out there. The only problem
is that new bands don't have achance that we did because record companies are
in the toilet because people download andfile share for almost nothing, so new

(27:33):
bands can't survive. That's the unfortunatething. So there's a lot of really
talented people out there. Taylor Swiftdoes not suck. He's great. You
should go see one of the shows. It's literally the largest tour of all
time. And by the way,if you're near a computer, look up
Taylor Swift, where's kids Makeup? You'll be shocked. The entire band came

(27:56):
out and surprised Keith Urban in twelvekiss makeup and did a song. Well
that's pretty cool. Who was she? I would assume, Jean, right,
she wear your makeup? No?No, actually she was a Oh
how about that? Yes, wellthat was That was a poor choice,
boy heart. But hey, it'sall it's all good. There's plenty to

(28:18):
go around for everybody. Last thingfor me, Gene, you were always
adding something to the show. Youknow, here's fire, here's pyro,
now here's blood, here's a biglight up sign. The stairs with the
hot chicks coming down them? Wasthat fun? Were you guys excited to
kind of just start spitballing her?Was it a burden? Did you feel
like you always had to one upyourself every concurrent tour that followed the one

(28:40):
you just finished, No, yougot it right. It was always a
thing of, hey, we didthat, and now let at the more
I do this, do that.I guess we've done that before. You
know, when we first started, nobody had lifts signs on stage or uh
you know, people thought it wasthe um cool. It was more like
a lost Vegas. We didn't care. We wanted to break the rules and

(29:03):
give people a show because they wereartists who were sitting cross legged, barefoot
on persian rugs with an acoustic guitarand charging the same amount of price that
we did. And we always wantedto give bang for the buck. And
despite what your girlfriend kept telling yousize does matter, we always wanted to
bigger damn it. You know that'stough to hear, you know, especially

(29:29):
here punching the gun and two anda half hours to go, sitting with
my boyfriend here. You know,I love I love barefoot performance on a
Persian rock and she's got the bigleather boot just right in my face.
You're the greatest, Jean. You'rea wonderful man and a great person to
come on and share your story andtalk about your restaurants and all the things
that inspire you. Thank you somuch for doing it, and have a

(29:53):
wonderful day in afternoon. All thebest, Thank you, Pretty good,
fantastic. I think the tour startsin like a few days, so he
may be across the pond. Hencethe connection that was a little bit international
side. Sounded like Gene Simmons andme. Heck yeah, now years we've

(30:15):
been together. That was either GeneSimmons, Ralph Garman, or Psychobiace.
But you know he owns the restaurant, so I figured it was probably Jim.
He called us gay. Whatever, that's not. It's fine. Whatever,
we've been together for twenty fine,we're comfortable with it. Here's what
I'm gonna do. I'm gonna callthese guys gay straight and he's gonna couple

(30:37):
the Richard Simmons over the top.It was awesome. Brendan Rice is yeah,
I look at him, he's comingup and joining us. Next.
This is gonna be fantastic more pricesto give away. Hang on to your

gay, a real one. You'regame? You are get at the game.
No, you are there? Whyare you gay? Why are you

(30:59):

(31:44):
just on the telephone from all theway on the telephone in Europe, could
tell that Matt and I smoke poll. It's really, really disheartening. Do
you think you stay together for twentyyears on the radio, coul smoking,
it's lonely on the am band. We're sorry, Brent all right treading us
right now on your Welcome to theshow, Southern California Toyota Dealers Celebrity Hotline.

(32:08):
In fact, it's a headset righthere, straight out of Chandler.
I thought he was from the BayArea, but he cut his teeth in
Arizona. That's why he's so tough. Brendan Rice a great college football career,
starting in Colorado, ending up atUSC and now a Charger. He

(32:29):
just came down. He went intoseventh round, which was too low,
way too low, way too low, and it made Jerry Rice pissed off.
And you don't want him upset.Jerry Rice. He's a nice guy,
but he can get upset. That'sright, Go ahead. Brendan Rice
is a hero to the people, and he's a Charger and he's come down
here to LA for college football andnow pro football, and it's great to

(32:51):
have him here. And he justgave away a football to somebody, not
yet what end. He gave awaya truck to Vegas. Oh, he's
going to give way to autograph footballand a VIP tour the brand new Bolt.
At the end of his conversation, well, tell us, what's it
like being a pro? I mean, you've grown up around pro football players
your whole life. Obviously your nameis synonymous with football greatness. And you

(33:15):
really what I love about you isyou grew as a player. You know
in Colorado, you grew, grewand an sc you got better and better
every year and put yourself in aposition to get drafted. What's it been
like for you doing that? Andhow's LA treating you? Man? La
is treating me better than ever.Let mean, this would be a part

(33:37):
of the Chargers organization, it's amazing. But really going ahead and grasping what
it means to be a pro islike it's a different level now. I've
been taking under the wing of QuentinJohnson as well as Josh Palmer, as
well as Justin Herbert and Derwin James, and I'm just talking to these guys
trying to go ahead and pick picktheir minds and just know what it really

(34:00):
takes to go to that next level. And just talking to these guys each
and every day it was like, hey, make sure you go ahead and
focus on the details, because thedetails are gonna makes you great at this
level. You Petro said it,you got better every single year from your
first year of Colorade of the second, your third year at SC or fourth
year really broke out last year twelvetouchdowns. What was the key to that?

(34:20):
You know what? What was itwith your growth that you were able
to build year after year and andnow you're sitting in the NFL. Consistency
within just everything I do, everythingis I would have to say that I
would have to go ahead and talkto my coaches on a regular basis and
see what they wanted from me asa human being, as a leader within
the locker room and as a player, and I just took what they told

(34:45):
me and trying just went ahead andshowed what I could do on the field
as well as in the locker room, and just going ahead and being that
brother to my teammates. You youmentioned the players you got, Josh Palmer.
It's it's an interesting room. Youcould have come into a room with
Keenan Allen and Mike William's guide that'sbeen around the game for a long time.
Instead, it's a very young roomwith Josh palmeran spots and then you

(35:08):
got a head, you got awide receiver coach in Sanjay Law that a
lot of people are very excited aboutbeing here in l A. And now
you've got you know, coach Harbaughas well. So kind of take us
through what that room's like, whatyour position coach is like, and what
it's been like so far, youknow, dealing with coach Arbaugh. Man.
Before I go ahead and do that, can I just tell y'all one

(35:28):
of my dumbest rookie moments, lovefailure. So looks so look, so
look we were we were in practiceone day in the ref. I don't
know if you guys remember what happenedwith the Kansas City game where I think
it was Nicole Harmon onside. Ohyeah. But the thing is he was
just on the ball, like exactly. So I did that in practice and

(35:52):
the ref's telling me, hey, scoop back a little bit, right,
and I'm like, well, I'mtrying to be clearly on the ball here,
and he said to scoop back.I scooped back. Whatever, It's
okay. We go into film thenext day and Coach Harmall just Brennan,
why are you not on the ballin front of everybody like a dummy?
Instead of just saying yes, sir, I decided to put my hand on

(36:15):
it. I put my hand up. He was like, what could you
possibly ask? And I'm like, coach the ref told me. He was
like, if I'm telling you something, then you go ahead and do it.
And I'm like, oh my god. Everybody just did goes dead silent
looking at me. I'm like, man, Next the next time I went
out on the field, I justI knew, like, man, I

(36:37):
have to go off today. Ihad. And then after practice he was
like, Brendan, I was,I was a little questionable about you,
but you could play a little bityourself. You gotta be. You can
get set up on your own assistantcoach too, and they get real quiet.
Exactly happen. That's the biggest thingI had to learn. Sometimes you

(37:00):
just gotta shut up. And ifyou do that, what a feeling.
So what's that room like other thanthat? Other than that, I would
have to say, the room isa static man. There's a whole bunch
of guys that are ready to goahead and just take this wide receiver room
to it. At the next level. You know where O're here. There's
a lot of people doubting us thisyear, but nobody sees the work we

(37:22):
put in each day in the dayout, especially under coach and Josh Hammon
and then Coach carp These guys areamazing man. Coach is a receiver coach
that I've never really been accustomed to. He's already transcended my game to the
next level. He helped me inso many ways. I mean, shoot,

(37:42):
a lot of guys were talking abouthow hard I run pre draft and
stuff like that. He fixed itwithin a quick kid, you not within
like the first couple of weeks Iwas there. And just how much that
he really is a player's coach. And I could really call up it,
call him up at any point inthe time, in the night, and
he'll really have a conversation with me. That's the type of coach you want
to be coached by. You know, it's interesting we're talking about high school

(38:05):
football a little bit, and youknow what it's like when you're being recruited
as a high school player. Youkind of you know you're insecure, right
these guys are grown men, andyou kind of have your chest out and
you want to act cool? Right? Is it that way in the NFL
with the young players some of themthe young players, you know, like
you know, you don't know whatit's like until you know what it's like.

(38:27):
How nervous do you get? Doyou feel like you have to chest
out around those guys? Oh,keep your chest high because always keep you
You can't show fear, man,you can't show fear. This is a
grown man's game and that's just whatit is. At the same time,
though, there's a certain type ofrespect you have to have for the vets
around and these guys have been doingit for years. So just make sure
that you go ahead and just justpick them one man. Just you don't

(38:52):
got to be the big guy oncampus all the time. There's always a
time and place for that. Justtake a step back and just watch and
hopefully you can go ahead and transcendlike the what a great conversation with Brendan
Right's not now? I just gotone one question because he's got a lot
of style and he's got his chainout, And how your chain looks good
once you cross aviation in the northridondo top that chain to that chain,

(39:17):
but you have I don't know ifit was a COVID thing or if you
but you kept it going. Youplayed with the batta clava, you know,
just you know, didn't you kindof like have the head thing for
a while. You know, youdon't like that the whole head thing on
your handche man, Yeah like that? No, no, why okay,

(39:42):
okay, tell us about that.See, see, there's a there's a
different type of Brendan. So like, okay, some games there were those
romantics, like the Colorado game. That Colorado game, I nah, I
wasn't just Brendan. That was Thatwas a different persona of Brendan. Right,
you feel me? Okay, thatwas b there's Brendan this b right.
So you hear me. Okay, there we go. And so I

(40:04):
messed up that game because you know, I'm going back to my alma mater,
and it was just it was justa different type of hunger. Like
not only that, but I'm goingagainst the Sanders and Dion had said something
crazy in the media that week. No, come on, man, it
wasn't I know, I know itwasn't like that. But at the same

(40:27):
time, I was like, man, you could have shown me a little
bit of love like dang. SoI was like, all right, I'm
coming with it. So that weekended up having two touchdowns. I was
hoping Travis Hunter was gonna play.I studied him for like six months prior
to that game. But hey,or at the NFL, he'll be here
soon. You will, Yeah, you will. Why why do you can't
you breathe? I can breathe? So I got my breathe right stript acept

(40:53):
that as an answer, so thatI vet's have agreements in place. They
can only be at the facility Xnumber and that way with the rookies.
Rookies you can work, get hereat five am, you're not leaving till
two am, and then be backhere. What's how often are you there?
What's it been like? How muchwork have you been putting in?
Because everybody, I think just assumeyou just showed up this past Wednesday or

(41:14):
whatever, and no, you guyshave been there the full time. Oh
no, So the work I've beenputting in, I would have to say,
man, you get what you putin and every single day and my
dad's over here calling me like, man, are you his favorite quote of
all time? Today? I willdo what others canceled tomorrow, I can
do what others want. And therewe go. I think I'll spend that

(41:36):
No, I had to spend thataround. Spend that around, if you
guys hear me right. That soundedgood though. But yeah, basically,
I just go ahead and make sureI I take pride in every moment,
because how you do the little thingsis how you do all things. After
practice, I try to stay aslate as I can. If Santa's up
there, I'll try to go aheadand do you know, just go ahead

(41:59):
and chop it up him for acouple of seconds. Try to go ahead
and pick up a pick with JustinHerbert for a couple of seconds. And
Justin is a man of very shortwords. But hey, I promise you,
if you just listen, he willget the point across in the fewest
amount of wars possible. There wego. He's a doer. He's a
doer. Last thing, you mentionedyour two touchdowns against Colorado. Highlight game

(42:22):
for you and we, of courseyou know know your father to be in
the conversation is the greatest football playerin the history of the sport when you
were younger even now, would youguys go back and watch certain games with
their games that he would put onand be like, hey, check out
super Bowl twenty four. Here, look at look what I did to the
Broncos in this gay where there's certaingames that you remember watching, you know,
from his past that really stood out. See. I don't think he

(42:45):
has all that tape. I thinkit's too old. Honestly, you don't
want to see stuff that's not anHD. We're too old. No,
no, we can't go back toeighty four. Karrel Owens isn't even at
HD. Man right nineteen ninety fivebeating up on the chart. I thought
maybe he dust that one off fromthe whatever super Bowl thirty nine ers.
Hey, I say that's twenty twentyfour. Man, that's fair coo.

(43:08):
But thankfully I'm a coach within myorganization right now that actually coached. My
dad was the offensive coordinator of himat the Raiders, and he has all
his game tape. So I watchedthe Raiders games and I watched him run
a couple of routes, and I'mlike, man, if I go ahead
and take that and put that inmy game, oh boy, I'm gonna

(43:30):
be nasty coming soon. Man.When when I was playing football, we
had guys that had coached. PaulHackett was our coach, and he coached
your dad at in West Coast offenseguy, And all we did was get
yelled at. You know, youguys don't work hard. You don't run
the hills like Jerry Rice and RogerCraig. They run the hill. Do
they make you run the hills?Does your dad make you run the hills?
Are their hills to run? Man? He doesn't make me run the

(43:52):
hills? But you know I wantto do it myself? What you do?
Sandale over here? Listen, DonHill, man Hattan Beach, sand
Hill, Sam run on the beachby Sam Dune Park. It's calling your
name? How about you? Ican no longer run. I'm legally crippled.

(44:13):
You want a guy, Oh,you don't want to root for this
guy. You don't want to rootfor anything, exactly right. Brandon Rice
a great young man. Hit Yeah, here, Jimmy the bucket. Let's
get away, the let's give awaythe fucking away. The you go take
