La Dodgers in Think and down the Green.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Petrosin money, tros in money, ros in money, Rosy.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Do we do a quote for this? Do we do
that a while? I feel like you have. Yeah, you
could just have the quote of.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
No, I'm not doing that. I got that already, little
host Mish, Why can't you do it? Why can't you
set your monkey free? Always getting into it? Do you
love the monkey or do you love me? Hull Fitch?
There I see line three blinking. Look. I got a

(01:06):
couple of texts, Matt. I was look at this, look
at I got this here that says, please tell me
we're at least gonna launch after that poop on a
stick we just had to digest by the loser Dodgers.
And then I got one if we aren't getting easy,
the grizzy after that poor display of baseball, I just

(01:26):
might go full Baltimore Bridge and collapse.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Izzy and I communicate via Instagram DM, but she's been
on top of it. She's she's itching to launch. She
sent me a number of very angry messages.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Angry faces, mad faces.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
If you guys want to do the launch pad Thursday,
we can do it. I need to talk, and I
wrote back, I don't know if we'll be doing it.
I think we may be three to seven straight. I
told her, finish up.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I told her I booked, Did you not book Isabelle.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Mile back to back? She then sent it back, we're
doing it. I talked to p Yeah, and Tim, don't
you try to book the pad listen? I said, Hey,
if we started three, there's no launch pad. If we're
straight out the gate three to seven, there's no. But
if it's three zero two, that's what I mean. I
thought that Tim Gates was going to be I had
assumed the Dodgers remembered how to play fundamental baseball. Oh

(02:20):
now the old Dodger's fault. Oh completely their fault field
the ball.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
I feel like Tim went a little longer than even
he thought he was going to do because of angry Dodgers.
I think the anger. Am I wrong? Tim? Was there
great anger in the ranks? I mean, it's Kate's week,
It's the week of the wall, another brick in the wall.
We don't need no education. We want the Dodgers to
win every game. I apologize when a few minutes longer
than I told. That's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
But while you're asking, were people that fired up? We
had full phones, had all Yeah, a full phone. Yeah,
it's panic moment right now. The bullpen is struggling their gas.
They're tired, they're old, and it's August fifteen.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
What was your correspondence with Isabelle if Any regarding the
launch pad?

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Sheet sent me a tweet saying I'm ready for the
launch pad.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
But that was it.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
She called We lost her. She hung up and calling
freaked out and was able to get back. Get her
back on.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
You called her back, You called her back. She called
me just non stop bang bang bang.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I don't think she did a non stop I think
she'd just like any guest on the radio. Isabelle deserves herspective.
I mean she drops they called back drops and tries
to call back. How many times did it take her
to get through. We made room for her. She has
extra lines that she can call and unlike Vic, like
military Mondays, unlike Vic, we've given her the third COMERX
line that no one else has. VIC does not have it.

(03:39):
She hit the truck her Tuesday. So let's launch it
out with Vic and Isabelle. Victor Brick Jacobs of course,
and Isabelle from the group pulm at Anaheim joining us
now on your at the group home. Her day program
might be at the day program and the her cell
cout to I Yota Dealers Celebrity Hotline. It is Isabelle

(04:00):
and Victor Brick for the launch pad. A lot of
angry Dodger fans. What's cracking, guys?

Speaker 5 (04:07):
I love you. No, I'm not in my gage. I
get after when let you know I'm using.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Okay, so you are at the group so, Matt, Matt
just he just wants to correct me, like I'm a.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Well, calculately you say she's at the group home and
then she's like, no, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Either she corrects me or tell you I can't. I
bounced back between groups of authorities.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
So long, Matt, You're wrong, that's what she said.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Stop correcting me, she's underwater. What's going on here? Are you?

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Is he?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Your connection sounds terrible?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
No, I don't know. I got my ear clugs.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Do and take the ear off, take the earbuds out.
They sound terrible and talking to the phar No, you won't,
I won't hang on. Won't you just take them out?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Turn off.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
We'll call you back if they if it drives. This
is not professional, this is perfect. Don't have a lot
of time.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
You're a lot You're pretty upset to vic, aren't you?

Speaker 7 (05:16):
Dodger fans feeling you?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Listen? Are you really?

Speaker 7 (05:19):
I was feeling so good. You know, we're down three runs.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
You know we battled back? Is he?

Speaker 7 (05:25):
We battled back? We're down three nothing? You know? Flowerty
had nothing in the first inning.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
He got lit gave up a couple of homers.

Speaker 7 (05:31):
Three runs.

Speaker 8 (05:32):
Okay, so we're down three. We battled back, puts us
in front with the with.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
The su did a freaking were looking for opinion. We're
not looking for recap magic, all right, we're looking for opinion. Yeah,
everybody on the yachts not cheering this.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
Listen. I want Copeck to go with more precious at Why.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Did be going the sixth, vic, what the hell is that?

Speaker 7 (05:51):
I want Copeck in the eighth and the ninth.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
It was the liner for Milwaukee, So what who cares? Mitchell?

Speaker 8 (06:00):
If you can't beat Contreras, you don't deserve to win
the national legu West. What is it you got to
get Contreras's out? You know, Colepeck gets him out. Colepecker
is pitching great ball. I'm not going with the burnt
out Daniel Hudson right now, is here off the earbuds?

Speaker 7 (06:14):
You know, Honey is tired, is he? You know this tire?
Honey is exhausted.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Vac is fresh and he wants to go, and we can't.
We got Ryan Dempster coming up at three thirty, Like
we got a break.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
If it was a pizza, he'd be fresh. Brother, he
took it too long. You are so fa.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
We go to three forty guys, won't have to break
till then. We're good about Dempsol calling like five mentals.
Think about it the line, Oh.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
I see what you're saying. So when Dempster calls, we
cut it off.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yeah, vicers Phil and milk right now. We got to
make sure we milk these things, Okay, let's go.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I don't believe.

Speaker 8 (06:44):
Colepeck has been used enough. He's been sensational, he hasn't
given up a What do you have to prove that
I can pitch in a high urgency situation.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Well, that's what Kate's is saying. Kates is saying that
was a high leverage situation, that it was the heart
of the order. They had a one run lead.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
The sex one run lead. You got Mitchell contreres domis.
But you know, Kates, they're gonna come up since she
took off her.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
I agree with tim One with the huble they had order.
I agree with Tim One. I'm sorry, guy, did would
know way you had had col back in that in me?
I'm sorry.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
I'm a Copex fan. I think we all are.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
I mean, this guy has been lights out and so
the dog has gone from the White Sox. I don't
want to see uh Daniel Hudson.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
When if Hanson comes in the sixth, then gives up
the run immediate and then Copex never even in I
means giving up three. Joe Kelly, he's been terrible.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
You can't put Joe Kelly has been very erratic. But
who hasn't been Peck this year worked out of the
seventh inning. Jam I got the first two guys on
you know then VESSI I got out of it with
with with no damage. But listen, Daniel Hudson's giving up
runs in this in three straight appearances.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, but those are those are all brown balls. That
was just that was the unlucky victory. Hit his foot
and all that.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
I understand that that's part of that's part of.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Trying to get.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Yes. And you guys, why are we surprised away? They
have all played problem with this year? Is the bullpen
a play may place? So why are we always surprised
about this guy?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Why are we surprised that the bullpen sucks?

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Because every year this happens the bullpen? Why are we surprised?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Vic? What is the surprise here?

Speaker 7 (08:53):
This is no surprise when.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
I've been talking about this year, those guys like you know,
we have I have been five years old. I mean,
you know it's you guys, I am I'm so mad they.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Is this the baddest you've been all year? Is he
you seem pretty fired up?

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (09:17):
I did asked him. I've been doing with him since June.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Sorry, yeah, maybe maybe it's maybe it's an opportunity for
the Dodgers to uh to take a look in the
mirror and say, you know what, maybe our bullpen sucks
because we pull our starters after four or five innings
every time they go out. Why do we have the
most gassed bully Maybe because let me start to the
freaking seventh inning.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Ever, and where's Otani's leadership? Vic, I don't see much
of that? Yeah, same of the series.

Speaker 7 (09:56):
I want to on the positive side, Luxy Luxy has
founded man. Luxy's hit is hitting beautifully. I want to
give a Gavin.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Fabulous yeah to move it forward.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Guys, Dodgers don't have a starter for tomorrow. Bobby Miller
may get called up. Justin Robleski could get called up.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Dodgers Dodger expert, got issues, got experts on Kate can't
throw five four days?

Speaker 5 (10:24):
They have webbed Not Bob Milly please, not Bob and
Milly please.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
No.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Basically yeah, me, but but what we were saying, Yeah,
I mean, it's just you know, she issic guys, is
he yeah?

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Unbelievable?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Yeah, guys, what I'm thinking by Chubby do you hear about?
I was really bum.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
It's a very simple move is very simple move. Insert
Copeck into the eighth or ninth ending. That's all, and
give Hudson some rest.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Let's let what are you throwing the sixth? Yeah, Kopek,
never tell you because he can't close because the Dodgers
are down.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
If you don't put him in, it's a rhetorical question, Flairty,
that's who send him back out there?

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Christ yeah, Jack?

Speaker 5 (11:16):
But then he went over there. How many pissies did
he have overady?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Thirty five ninety three? I know every way, it's not
out there. This guy's going to twenty.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
Absolutely I agree with that.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
I that what about pigs? And and then's the problem.
My god, we're pitchy. Why did they have to pick
one e three miles an hour? That way you get injuries?
I see you now, I like it, Tommy, Tommy, John Sisley,
Oh it just irritates me. But that we still got you.

(11:55):
Let Joe Shoepie, I hate you prechange it.

Speaker 7 (11:57):
Yeah, but on the side ball, on the sidebar, on
the sidebar, ratual.

Speaker 8 (12:03):
I hate the pitch clock. Okay, I'm on record. I
hate the freaking pitch clock.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Just the way it is.

Speaker 7 (12:09):
I think it's causing the injuries. Is he you're with.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Evidence that that's the case. Yeah, Matt, just he's a
big word. What do you think about that? Vic's yeah,
guys that get hurt.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, I hate the pitch clock.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Is the way it is? Well, why did they get hurt?

Speaker 3 (12:29):
They get hurt every year travel ball pitchers get hurt.
It's travel ball, travel ball. Long time coming.

Speaker 7 (12:40):
Everyone's everyone's banged up. Everyone's banged up. We're going to
Saint Louis. I'm not sure who's going to pitch it,
Tim Kates, I'm not sure what the options are?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Uh, Tim Belcher tomorrow t b A.

Speaker 7 (12:52):
I like Belchi Okay, it's gonna be a rough servy problem.
Just to be honest with you, VI, I like pitch.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I got a text that says, this man, this launch
pad is like a blue shoe for me. I'm out
on the Dodger season, but I'm in on is he
and coked out? Vic?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Man?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
He has cast up to.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
But but you guys, hey, Tim will help me with this.
Where are we ever gonna get rid of the ghost Runner?

Speaker 2 (13:20):
I you aren't gonna get rid of the ghost Runner?
When are we gonna get rid of.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
The ghost I am not a big.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Extras or something. I know I didn't. None of them
went into extras. No, no, but brings up the pitch
clock because.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
He's like, all right, since we're bringing up the pitch clock,
let's bring up the ghost runner.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
See, I know you're upset. Yeah, what are these new
fangled rules? Is he? I know you're upset, but I
want you to feel better because you're doing right by
the people. That's texts of people that love the launch pad.
Here's another one. I've had a terrible week, but this
launch just got me from six to midnight so fast.
What the hell is going on?

Speaker 5 (14:03):
An occupant the off season? I keep it.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
After like a clipper.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Well, yeah, I think we could do that.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Milk.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Those jokes, I just want them to begin. They always
a pause, they shall always to parade. The dodge is
really if.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
You wanted to, Hey, Vic, why do you hate the
pitch clock? Assuming that there has been no increase just
I think you know, if you follow the the numbers,
there has been zero increase in injury since.

Speaker 7 (14:40):
The pitch that the River Ryan when I saw.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Were going to talk to him again, I mean Walker
Buelers had to Tommy John surgeries, right, you know that's
pre pitch clock show. Hail Tony's first Tommy John came.
Pre pitch clock. Guys blow out their arms. They're throwing
two hard, that's three out. So I'll side of that
because River Ryan happened to blow his arm out and said, yeah,
I don't like the pitch clock.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
The pitch clock take might not be great, but I
believe it's an improvement on Vick's Serena Williams Reservation in
Paris tape. I'll get it. I believe in River Ryan.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
That's to me was such a traumatic injury. He was
pitching so well. I feel I feel for River.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Sure we all do.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
That doesn't mean we want to go back to the
picture of Baia's era of baseball.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Now that is some written Now, I mean you're really
jumping to the forest conclusion. The slowest pitcher shape have
been cut by thirty minutes. It's been glorious. Yeah, you
don't hear a lot of people complaining about the pitchlock
clock anymore. I am very bitter about the pitch clock.
The ghost Runner people don't like. No, except for Ves.

Speaker 7 (15:50):
I hate I hate the ghost Runner and I hate
the pitch clock. You know these uh, these no fangled options.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Well, what are you gonna tell those ghosts at the
fist or hotel that they just can't work anymore? If
it goes to astra ins, they just can't work anymore.
No ghost runners.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
Oh you guys, can I ask you one question? The
Genie but supposed to be the next Diday.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
She is, she's supposed to be, But we can't insult
the Lakers enough to her. She won't show on.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
I mean, it's incredible, we love her. She's definitely commentates Genie.
Genie's in, So we'll be there. Yeah, at the you
gonna come.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Somehow get me over there. I got to. I'm sorry
that you guys got too software her.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I'm sorry, but he's got to comm and Pepper. She's
with us.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
But come on, guys, I mean, why you laked guys.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
It's like a fox at the snow when we talk
to her. We don't know what to do.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Yeah, that one saying you guys are so stop all right, Well,
what you want.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
To ask her is he if you got all the
good questions, what's the question that you want to ask
you should just put her one?

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Really like the YouTube and we liked the dad exactly.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yeah, it better, that's what I say. That seems like
that be a little insulting. Yeah, well, why aren't you
as good as your dad? That makes you cry every
time you bring it up.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
That seems like that might be thanks for coming out
to so much your father five years ago.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
Yeah, I will ask you, well, why did you guys
now Jerry Jamie we.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Do Jerry was so dirty? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (17:39):
Yeah, why did why did? Why did the clipping have?

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Ca?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
That might get her on her heels a little bit,
there is he But those are good questions. Really doing
us dirty, isn't he? Ca Dempster is really doing us dirty?

Speaker 2 (17:56):
What happened to Dempster? I don't know. I'm trying to
reach orbit at the planet five times. God, the launch
pads come back down there for seven minutes. It's a
beautiful it's a beautiful launch.

Speaker 7 (18:13):
Yeah, listen. Bottom line that goes I'm circling back? Is
he circle back with me? What we got to do
is understand, you know, the the end of the bullpen
is tired right now. It's you know, it's no excuse,
but that's their starters.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Pitch vic let Jack.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Mag Yeah, I got to agree with that. Yeah, I mean,
oh the duty. I mean really it's I'm not going
to get any sleep.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Please, no sleep is important for our health. That was
the launch pad, ladies and gentlemen, one of the most
meaningful and greatest launch pads that we've ever launched here
on The Patterson Money Show.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
We love it.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
A big thank you to Victor brick Jacobs. I'm feeling

Speaker 2 (20:40):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Great intro? Thanks very much for that.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Oh you're welcome and you deserve it. You know we're
out here in LA on your Dodger station. So we
throw big offseason parties. And then around September October, everybody
looks in the mirror and goes, what happened? What happened.
That's kind of how we've lived here in southern California.
But are you surprised that the Dodgers aren't in better shape?
I mean, they have the best record in the n

(21:05):
L and all that, but they're in a tough division
with Race and and they just split again with the Brewers.
People here freaking out, Dempster, what can we do?

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Well?

Speaker 6 (21:15):
There were a couple of plays away from being up,
you know, three games to one in that series. But
uh yeah, there man. You guys got a good team
out in LA. They can play some baseball, and I
think it's you know, sometimes there's different ways you can.
You can bust it all year long and then slow
down the end and hutter out, and maybe over time

(21:36):
you learn that it's best to hear the show horse
just run hard, but you got to stee on it
and then turn it on when it's time. And they'll
there'll come a time and they'll either be good enough
to do it or they won't. But the Brewers are
a really good baseball team too. People are finding that out.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Ryan I'm looking at the back of your baseball card here,
and I'm seeing a number a number of seasons where
you threw over two hundred innings. You got a couple
where you threw over two hundred and twenty and that's
before the pitch clock. Matt he could take his time
up there. Hey, Dodger has got zero chance of throwing
two hundred innings in the last half decade and likely

(22:12):
for the foreseeable future. How much of that is playing
into their bullpen routinely being gassed by the end of
the year. Do you feel like this is a team
that's got a premature hook on their starters.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
Oh, I don't know about that. I think it's an
industry driven thing where it's just a little bit that's
not that used to always be the number one concern,
Like I think forgetting a starting pitcher was signing a
guy who you knew would throw two hundred plus innings
and like it was a horse. So guys, right, guys

(22:48):
like were put you were made that way, like you
were made that way in high school, and then that
was the goal. Be Nolan Ryan, run the polls, you know,
do the conditioning fills your legs up? Big and strong,
Steve Carlton, all these guys good on the list, you know,
and then go out there and throw two hundred and
something innings and do it again the next year and

(23:09):
the next year and be good enough to go through
a lineup three times, you know, right, sometimes not good
enough to go through the lineup once, Like I think
there was there's a few of those like but you know,
I think it's just something that was valued.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
A lot more.

Speaker 6 (23:22):
It's just changed industry wide for whatever reason.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
Yeah, it's just not as big a focus it's But
I think it's in there. I think we're taking like superhumans,
the guys throwing ninety to five to one hundred. Want
to get more out of them, set less out of them.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Yeah, I think that's because it feels like it's the
same theme, you know, and in these last you know,
in this game today, right Flaherty gives up three early,
is throwing great now, he's completely settled down, hasn't given
up a single run over the next four innings, and
then he's at ninety three pitches and he's out of
the game. And you find yourself strong out.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
The kind of stuff I'm talking about, You're now talking
that that's that's eyes right, that's steel. That's like, oh shoot,
he's just getting I remember lou Panella one time I
went in the seventh thing. We're facing the Cardinals, and
I wish I could I'll look it up so I
remember this when I tell the story. But I finished
the seventh inning with like one hundred and nine pitches
or something like that. And he came up and this

(24:19):
is the seventh and I went three four five, and
he goes, Son, you're good, right, you want to keep going?
And I was like, yeah, one hundred percent like and
he's like, yeah, I thought, so I three four five,
six seven eight, no problem, down the butt and I
went out six seven eight one two three right in
the eighth inning. And I finished with one hundred and
eighteen pitches or something like one hundred and seventeen pitches.

(24:41):
Made my next start, and made my next start, and
but it was it was a feel. My My tough
part was the first time through the lineup. It wasn't
the second or third. I was just getting going. And
I think sometimes moments like that, like have him throw
another thing? Why not? And another one? If he has
a quick inning. He finished one hundred through six, like,
go for another one.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Why not?

Speaker 6 (25:00):
He's cruising right now.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
It doesn't seem like anybody gets injured any less than
it seems like they get inured a lot more.

Speaker 6 (25:08):
It's not even like that. I always said, like we
were trying this other way, and I don't know, is
it more successful.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Like is it I don't know, doesn't feel like it
runs or.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Our strikers for I mean, I'm more strikeouts, I guess,
But like as far as like way to put a
pitch clock in place, because it's so many changes, you know,
for the same result, take longer time to get to
the same result. Scores are still three to two, still
eight to one. It didn't matter. You either can locate
a fastball and you see in the game or you can't.
You get then you go to get somebody the.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
To shift to the the the batters in the everyday players,
do you think because they they tried to put the
kebash on it. You know, look, we do a show
every day. We're doing four hours today, and it felt
like it was a big deal when Mookie dropped that
quote of you know, it's shoe a Otani whatever he says,
we do and then everybody else falls in line about
him coming back and not hitting lead off anymore, but

(25:57):
he was doing before the injury, and you experience all
those years you played. Is is that a big deal
for guys like, hey man, I want to add leadoff
and this is bs that I got hurt and I
didn't lead off anymore. Now it seems like everybody's fine
with it. But do you think that's something that that
maybe there is an issue there and they're just kind
of playing nice for the public.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
I think that I can't speak for how like Mookie
feels or they feel. I don't know that, but like
I think, like anything in life, like you you know,
you're working as a anybody would feel a certain way,
right Like you have a huge dynamic of players on

(26:40):
both sides, who are you know, one person is really
enjoying where they're at, and this person the goal is
to win. Everybody wants that and you know you just
have to work your way through that. But they're also
like Mookie's an emotionally intelligent human beings, so such a
great teammate that that's not an issue with their team.
I wouldn't believe like that's to get through that. He

(27:01):
just Rake, you know, whereas maybe if you had a
little bit more volatile relationship with somebody, but like no,
guys who are just trying to win, and Mookie Bets
can hit first, second, third. That dude his baller man,
he is awesome and show heo Tani Rakes And you know,
I don't think that's an issue at all, all right,
but I'm not in that locker room. I just know

(27:21):
Moki is a human like that dude. That's a great teammate,
the great Ryan Dempster.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
He would know World Series Champ with those Red Sox.
And of course he's great on the MLB Network and
intentional talk and speaking of that national perspective, because you
know what it's like, especially Boston, it's hard to see
the forest for the trees when you're in a market
and you're around the team all the time. Do you
guys cover show Hao Tani differently in the MLB network

(27:48):
now that he's a Dodger as opposed to the Angels,
it's so weird in LA He's such an attraction on
Bobblehead Night and all this there's like twenty O Tani
Bobbleheads with the Angels and nobody cares, it's a trip.
How do you guys cover it? Is it different?

Speaker 6 (28:06):
No, I think it's the same. I mean maybe there's
a little bit more because you know, when teams are better,
they no matter what market you're in. I think they
just get more run, you know, more eyes. So maybe
it seems like you talk about him more, but I
always I feel like we've always talked about him, like
the unicorn that he is, you know, right, and and
and the ability to do on a baseball field with

(28:28):
a lot of people, man, like what guys did in
like in pony Baseball, like you know, oh yeah, Tom,
he raked any pitch really hard, like nobody did that
in big leagues, you know, in this in this era
anyways now for one hundred, you know whatever, eighty years,
So it's like it's interesting. So yeah, I think we've
always just covered him. It's been pretty pretty incredible what he's.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Able to do.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
I mean, he's gonna what's forty forty. I think he
could be fifty to fifty if you if he just wasn't.
The problem is he has too many homers. You can't
steal enough to the.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Homers and doubles, you know, more singles, Huh, let's get
and like.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
He's got players clogging up the bases in front of him.
He's got too good to a team to go fifty fifty.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
The was listening to the broadcast today the Dodger Radio broadcast,
and Rick Monday brought up that Michael Kopek mentioned that
he once uh performed an unassisted triple play in T ball.
He said, when he was in t ball, that was
a nugget that he shared with him. Do you remember

(29:31):
as as an exceptional athlete, a guy that was good
enough to play sixteen years in the Major? Do you
remember any of your incredible because you said it right,
the horses and Pony and all that. Do you remember
like your your greatest game in either Pony or American
Legion or te baw whatever you were playing. Can you
remember like, oh yeah, this particular game, I freaking destroyed everything.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Uh yeah, I think probably it was a couple of
weeks before the GIRAFT. I think it was more of
like the way I felt about it. We were playing
a tournament in port Albernie on the Island, and the
teams from all over the Lower Mainland in Vancouver over there,
and then there's some team. A team came up from Bellingham,
I believe it was, you're just outside of Seattle, Washington.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Oh yeah, got a beautiful la and they ran.

Speaker 6 (30:19):
They ran a figure eight, you know, routine like the
Harlem Globetrotters for their infield. I mean, they were crisp
and they had a lot of das from the team
from the States come with these Canadian kids, you know.
And I was watching them do this infield and was
flawless and they were just hooting and hollering, perfectly clean uniforms,
you know. I washed mine with a bar of dirt,
you know, like it was just and so so we're

(30:42):
sitting there and I'm like, oh man, you know, and
I kind of was just like getting fired up inside,
like my core was like and I looked at my coach, Dave,
and I was like, hey, don't put I want to
change the games I pitched. I want to pitch up
for them. And I shoved for seven innings, shut out innings.
I think I struck out fourteen or fifty.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Where America was awesome.

Speaker 6 (31:03):
It was it was awesome, and it was just like
and I never like I just like quietly went about
it too. I wasn't like it was just great.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
It was just a good an understated way exactly nice.

Speaker 6 (31:14):
Yeah, way better than when our yard filed the butt
back to me with the perfect game in the seventh.

Speaker 7 (31:19):
That was that one.

Speaker 6 (31:21):
I'll never live down. But that.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Time again we wouldn't bring it up.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
Bellevue.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Yeah, those Bellevue kids. I don't remember that, but thank you.
I appreciate it. Ryan thing running what was he doing?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Kate's where Where did we catch him on the playground
or something like he was at Cedar Point? I think
I heard like, Ohio, Yeah, I think like the Colossus
was in the background running or something, you know, the demon?

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Did you find him? Kate? He's out and about.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
He's working to an intentional talk about I love a
good yard sale reference.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
That's always That was actually i'd have been picking up
the kids. Although it's late, it's almost seven a get
out there.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
That might be the first time, maybe in a long
time or ever, that somebody hasted as ejected, like hit
the button. That never happened before.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
And we had said we were we had already signaled
it happened to me when I was on the air
in Miami with Mark Willard, that barking dog and we
were talking to Cocher, the Miami head coach, that old
nosparatus like we don't here men like shirt coach. Yeah,
one question that wasn't with you. I mean I've never

(32:30):
I feel like we've had someone get.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Just roll out.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Kenny g never even sat down, punk ass bitch that
he is. Oh, remember the the PR people would hit
the buttons on the phone.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
But that's different than the guy gotta go.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
Well, you guys did it to guests all the time
when you're on the network, right into the hard lots.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Well, yeah, we don't have time to talk about I've
done it once as we don't like it, how you
were molested. Have you ever done it?

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Not?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Who me? I've done it once? No, I don't do it.
That's not true. Petro's i've heard you yere.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yeah, when when I don't remember what an interview did,
I don't know a couple of years ago and you're like,
all right, guys, and like basically like bill hand, all right, guys,
all right, guys.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yeah, but I didn't say all right, guys, not nice
talking to you. I was doing a I didn't do
I don't that. Kate says, no, prood I.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Was doing a Dodger or Dodger a Charger preview. I
can't remember what market. You know, Green Bay minis something
like that, and let's call it play by play guy.
They always do because DJ won't do a g damn thing,
So I end up getting all the calls. I have
no chance. I'm their first choice, so flip them. Sing
was going like eighteen minutes and finally, hey, guys, apologize,

(33:46):
but I got to talk to coach right now. I
got to get out of here, all right, all right,
no problem, which of course I made up. But I
was like, dude, it's been eighteen minutes enough, I gotta go.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
That's all you had for that market? All I had
eighteen but couldn't do nineteen. Good all right, man? We
finished here. Well, no, I was in the middle of
a question Colker Ahi, guys, all right, demps.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
It definitely sounded like he was at an outdoor activity
maybe kids sports field day.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Hey, we appreciate him coming on, we do.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
You know?

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Maybe he was at a baseball game. Can we look.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Can we look up the Ryan Dempster wiki, what's the
what's the personal life kids? Young kids of of uh
little league age? Perhaps because It definitely sound sounded like,
here we go. I don't see anything.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Personal life. Widely known for his laid back attitude, joking
with fans and teammates.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
But if you keep him too long, yeah, I gotta go,
he'll pull the ripcord. Well, we appreciate it. He was
great and sorted out our problem and he allowed us
to launch for a little bit longer.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Yeah, we got a bit big announcement coming up. We
did this huge announcement. Okay, huge frum Mister van dorn Oh,
Steve van derbil Jennis when we return with the big announcement.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
He has a daughter, all right,
