What's up, guys, Welcome to another episode of Funky the Champ.
I'm Daniel Cormier. Dad's been astered, Funky Ben and Funky
Ben Uh now much.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I had a couple of practices I was at and
back home and I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna go
to sleep.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Hey, I gotta be honest, man, that kid that you had,
I mean, what a thug, just a thug that bullies.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
I don't know what neighborhood put that kid out of
that is a thug. He probably has a two points
something GPA what a.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
He comes in and he just tells me wild stuff.
And you know, I told you, like, uh, every every day,
every time it's Tamaya, it's whatever, pereira, he gosrera. You know,
he asks like, you can't choke me out. So one
day I just choked him out real quick, you know,
and then every day he keeps coming in acting like
that never happened. It's awesome. It just didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
You know what's crazy about not happening. So sometimes you
like might black out write and do something that you
don't remember.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
You know, who did that again?
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh my god? Oh yeah, I should have known that.
I walked right into that one. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I don't know who thought what you walked into that one?
Speaker 1 (03:14):
I was I was just totally I knew it was
on the list of topics of talking about and I
totally like, I just blanked. It's like I should have
known the answer. I don't know why I didn't know.
I feel good, dummy, But I don't know whether there's
a good answer to just just give him some weed
and give him some alcohol and just let him go.
I guess, hey.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Do people can't do people even like I gotta ask this,
like and I mean, look, I don't want him to
come after us.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
But but here's the deal.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Do people care about him?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
They keep putting him in those situations when he's in
that state because it seems like he always has a
camera in front of him whenever he's in that like
messed up state.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I believe as a company that he has an ownership
stake in it's called duel bits.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah, so what do they do? How are they doing that? Like?
You gotta know, right, Ben? I know?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
If so?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
We have a friend named Jared, right, yeah, you and
I have a friend named Jared. Okay, Jared's a wrestling coach.
I will not say his last name. When Jared has fun,
we don't put Jared on camera or bring him around
with people because he's having a good time. Bn L coaches,
we tend to get together and we have fun. We
shield him, right, Why aren't they shielding Connor McGregor.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I don't think that Connor wants to be shielded. And
I think I literally said this on our last show,
is that you know he's wealthy enough and he is
funny enough. And he's not really hurting anyone that he
just goes out here and acts freaking wild all the time,
and no one seems to mind all that much.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Some of the stuff was just so out out there though.
I was like, man, and then.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I feel like this was the most gone he's ever
been like on camera live. Yes, he was just all
over the place.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
It felt watching that that it was the most It's
hard to explain right that he was able to because
because here's the thing, right, Ben, you can do things
like you and I will do this. If we say
something that isn't appropriate or that isn't great.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
We'll take some time and then in our group message
we might go.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Hey to Luis, we don't know if we want to
put that part out. I don't like the way it
came out. Luis will then edit that out of the conversation.
How in the world does Connor McGregor do that? And
it goes from start to finish, it actually reaches air like.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
How was the whole time?
Speaker 4 (05:44):
I can't do live television?
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Man? Why was he doing that?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Okay, So when he gets fired up and he's like, hey,
I want to do a live you just gotta be like, hey, man,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
If that's the best idea, like I just.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
As well as things. Where does anyone even really take
him seriously anymore? Who? Who takes him serious?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
He called him out, he called it when Blow When
he said Blow's name, Law immediately made a video.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
He was like cooking in the chicken.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Crocs cooking.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I don't believe Ball took that as a serious call.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
He's like this, he took it serious, and he's praying
that it's real so that he hopes that he gets
the money.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Fight.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Do you do you think?
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Do you think Red Penny Knight is not really?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
No, it's not. Listen, Challenge chased it for two years.
It ain't really.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
You're crazy, it ain't real.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Show up.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
If you can fight him, he is not going to
show up. If you can fight him, it's real.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, if you can fight If I can find a
unicorn and be real, like what, yeah, find the tooth,
theaory'd be real, be real.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
So many people now are just done. They're just like, yeah,
it sounds like you're just done, like you don't believe it.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
I don't believe I will listen. I was one of
the first unbelievers. I did not believe long time ago,
I said they ain't fight in twenty twenty three, I
actually thought at some point Connor would feel like a
little less of a man for saying I'm gonna fight.
I'm gonna find him a fight and then never showing up.
But he would actually do it like I like obligation, guilt,
some type of emotion like that. But now I'm to
(07:32):
the point this dude, he's never showing up. It's not
gonna be he said.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
He still said that it's Chandler when he comes back.
It hain't shown back, he said, Chandler.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Okay, listen, that is not the tooth fairy that puts
money under your pillow is not. I promise. It's like
your your mom sneaks in there and slips a five
dollars bill.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Wait, what how much?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
What? What do you give it? What do you give
your kids?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Wait? You give five dollars for a tooth?
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I something?
Speaker 4 (08:05):
What do I want my wall?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Kid?
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Kid, if you were a kid getting five dollars, you
grew up rich. Now I know why, Well, you're rich.
You're a rich kid.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I mean, I don't think I got five dollars, but
my kids do sometimes like like don't you ever go
through your wall. I'm like, damn it, I got the ones.
What am we gonna do. I'm not gonna give him
the twenty. I'll give him five.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Yeah, I give him five. I might actually give him twenty.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I might actually give him twenty. Whatever I have, they
get like whatever. I'm really like. I'm really like my
kids are kind of spoiled. I gotta admit it, Chill,
I said chill.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
Man.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
So listen, you guys gotta look alike. And Chill also
is super rich growing up as a kid. But Ben, listen,
Connor McGregor, to your part, point is not coming back.
It seems like he just continuously goes down this path
where the work.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
He went to a boxing match the other day. Did
you see that dude walking down arena?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Bro? It doesn't matter you can'fc right because he's like
an owner of that too.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
But he did that, and also he went to I
think he might have went and watched Anthony Joshua getting
knocked out right right right, yes, yeah, And he walked
in there and he was the biggest celebrity of the
entire night. So honestly, while we sit up here judging
him and make fun of him and all that. I
don't know that it even matters, because he still ultimately
makes a boatload of money. And when he does decide
(09:28):
that he wants to if it happens, everybody's gonna be
waiting for him.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I wish we could make a bed of like, is
he gonna fight by stay of the year.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
I'll bet you're some bitcoin.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
You bet me something when I, let's say, by the
end of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
How much is your bitcoin worth to Like, if I
said ten grand cash, how much is bitcoin would you
have to give me?
Speaker 1 (09:49):
That's point one six or so something like that. So
that's all you get.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Point one six. I have no idea what that means.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
But it's the decimal point.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
So the bitcoin is worth zero point one percent of
the dollar.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
No, ten thousand dollars is not worth a bitcoin. A
bitcoin is like.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
It's not worth one bitcoin. No, God, damn dude. I
need to get some big cools.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I know. I tried to get you some bitcoin the
last time around.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
I want that much biitcoin kind of McGregor you would
you would.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Have sold it when it went down though you would
know how.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Much bigcoin you think got McGregor.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
You got he's got no bitcoin bullshit.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
He's a good Hey.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
One thing he got is he got a smart business
mind and some good people around him.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
That Da McGregor.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Who's he got to use his people, his business people,
Audio Tard, those guys, bro. He's made all that money,
he didn't do that alone. Clearly he doesn't make great decisions.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
He continues to do lives.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
I don't really believe that that damn alcohol company is
popular as they think.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I think I don't think it tastes that good. But
I know what he sold it for. Boatload of money. Okay,
guy's are walking cash in terms of marketing. Ben So
it's laav Today it was revealed that he's fighting in January,
or at least he's been offered a fight and he's accepted.
Kabib said this. Kabib doesn't lie. Is that the timeline
(11:15):
you expected? And do you believe that it's Saru County?
It has to be Sirukan.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
I feel like it has to be him. I feel
like it's a fight that makes sense and it's the
fight that everyone wants to see. Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
So I believe that it'll be January. But What that
tells me is what's happening in December?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Who's fighting that? Chandler Olivera, Chandler Lavera is.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
In November, John Jones is in November. There aren't many
title fights like scheduled right right now? You got uh
Perrero this weekend, you got Raquel Pennington this weekend, and
in November, because this is October, there's another title fight
in October.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
At the end, Max Holloway.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Was that you see three h eight in.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Abu Dhabi, So that's the title fight. That's three.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Then you have h Jones and Mediocic in New York City.
But there's no other title fights on that, so that
leaves a whole bunch of champions.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Yeah, left to be scheduled.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
You have Balal who doesn't have a fight. Islam now
is said to be in in in January.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Was the backup fighter.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Thirty five pounder belt was just one umar and number
lay twenty five. Maybe that guy maybe uh maybe U
Pantosia fights in December. Jehan Way Lee could potentially fight
in December. It has to be Belo Mohammed. But who's
Blohmahammed fighting? Is Blalo Mohammed gonna fight Kmorrow, who's one.
(12:48):
I'll get to islam in the second. I heard that
they got into an actual fight.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Oh, I would be okay with that. I would prefer
shot Cut, but didn't. Aren't Shavcot and Ian Gary both
in aren't they like U? Kind of hinting that they're
fighting each other?
Speaker 4 (13:05):
I never saw that.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
If I was shot cut, I'm not fighting nobody but
the title fight, right like.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
I feel like in Gary putting some stuff out saying
that he's gonna fight soon, and I want to say
Shopcutt has as well.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Eighteen and oh eighteen finishes been. I mean, that's insane
for gutting shot Cut rock model.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Let's see. Sorry, I'm trying. I'm trying to see this track.
He said. Uh, oh man, he bought a house. Congratulations
in Geary. I'm trying to see this man sign a
fight contract. I'm giving it. Damn just got a house fight. Somebody.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Louise said that you're right, Ben, He said, those guys
are saying that they're fighting each other.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, we thought so I finally got some good information
off Twitter.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
I don't think that's true. I don't think that's true.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Bro, So I left you Marty versus Ballall that's fine,
let's do it that.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Hey, so, so this is my story, all right.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I heard from multiple swords that the Pomp podcast, which
is what Tomorrow usmana heris whuto do, they did a
whole bunch of episodes when we were in Vegas.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Luis was there with me when I taped my episode.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Hey, I asked you for Henry's I lost it.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I forgot about that. I will get it to you.
I was running practice.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Umar was on there.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Another guest that was on there, very surprising to me
was Balmahammad. I heard that on that episode, Balomahammed and
Kamorrow Usman went back and forth because you know, Blah
has been giving them the business online, to the point
that they got into each other's face.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Punches were throwing. A guys got in person, but.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
I didn't realize it was in person, but it.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Was in person.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
In person, fist were thrown between Balmahammed and tomorrow Usman.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Somewhere bit there.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Is footage of this that in itself is enough to schedule.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
I saw this, it said Ball said. I broke him spiritually,
mentally and emotionally. Uh. I guess I just thought he
was antagonizing him on you know, on the show or so.
I didn't realize this was a face to face interview.
I totally missed that.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, would you would you actually allow someone to get
you so mad that you'd fight him in person?
Speaker 1 (15:29):
I would, I would attempt not to.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Henry and Marty they both do this. They both bring
on podcasts you.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Know much that man don't like you called him Marty, dude, I.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Know you got That's kind of why I keep it
up anyway, usman, all right, fine, I will, I will
keep the piece because I know you like him whatever, Usman.
They bring on guests which are antagonistic to them, like
they bring on guests like Sean when Sean came on
and hung up on him. Like I feel like they
(16:01):
bring on guess where they almost like set themselves up
for something. I don't know why they do that, Like
why they bring on a guess who they have a
really good idea is gonna be very antagonistic to them.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I think I'm I think I'm interviewing Joaquin Buckley on
the Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Ah, yeah, but he didn't squishes a.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Seriously, dude, that's what I do.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
I said, Listen, if someone bottles tart that crazy, I said, listen,
I'm a little older, I'm retired. You're still a little guy.
I'm still gonna squish you if I want to, Like,
don't get crazy.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
You're so crazy real, but you're But you're right. Though,
those guys got into a fistfight.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Okay, Well at some.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Point they got to release the footage, man Like, release
the footage. Let us all see what happened. Because I
believe that that's enough to schedule a fight. If you don't, though,
I believe that the title fight will go to rock Mono.
That's my thought. I believe that he deserves it, and
I believe that with balal Mohammet, you have to put
him in the right matchup someone that it feels could
(17:02):
be dangerous to him, or people just won't tap into it.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
All right, guys, So it's October and the weather.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Is starting to cool, and nothing's better than grabbing your
favorite date and going to do something fun. You put
your little jacket on, your whole hands, you walk, maybe
drink a coffee. And when you're going to do those things,

the best time of the year to go and do
something fun. Why not save money while doing it?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
We have to get back to Islam because that is
where the conversation started. Islamo fight Seru Kion. So many
people believe that the first fight between him and Serokion
was very close, but Islam one thirty twenty seven on
two fight cards in twenty nine to twenty eight on
one fight card because he's so dominant, though, is it
getting a bit boring when they become that dominant, right,
(18:42):
because it almost would you say that Suukian would beat him.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Uh no, I'm picking I'm not picking Surokin.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Right, So does that get a little boring to you
or a note? M?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah? I mean I said I went through this a
little bit because unfortunately, for a while in my career
I just flought guys who weren't quite as good as me.
And when the outcome is already kind of predetermined or
it's already known because they're just not as good as you, yes,
it makes you less likely to want to watch the match.
You want to watch a match where you don't know
what the outcome is gonna be. That's what you really
(19:15):
want to see. And so yes, some of these kind
of like squash matches.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
I don't know, what do You can't consider this a
squash match?
Speaker 1 (19:21):
No? No, I actually think it's gonna be really good fight.
But you know, to your point, though, is when someone
is that good and it's been on top for a while,
you know, I felt like this with Kabib for a
little bit when certain histories.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
He was just I thought, because he was finishing guys, just.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Like even against Poorier. You know, Pooria had a couple
of good moments, But I don't feel like Pooria ever
had him like on the ropes or at the risk
of losing, you know, like you know, even your buddy
John Jones, you know, he's had these moments where like
even yeah, the gust Ofsen fight, where you thought, all
this dude's gonna lose, Like he's gonna lose right now,
you know. I mean, but that's and that's that's what sports.
(20:00):
And you want to see her Your football teams down
and they come back at the end and they win
the fight or I win the fight when when the
win the game, that's kind of what you want to see.
You you want to see a back and forth contest.
You don't know who the winner is going to be home,
you get surprised by something at the end.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Islam actually fought Dustin Fourier and it was fun and
so many people loved it. But bro, he won four
of the five rounds on all the judges scorecards.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah. But but Pourier did have some moments where.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
You feel like he was gonna win.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
To you, it felt like it felt like I don't
know if i'd say win, but it felt like, okay,
this is competitive. If he can keep more of you know,
more of this going what he's doing, than it could
kind of slide his way. You know, you always feel
like that momentum with the fight where you know someone
might even get a big lead. I think of a
who Ode Osborne fought someone, you know, he almost put
(20:53):
him out and then he almost choked.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
That was the sphere.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
The sphere. It was like very back and forth, you know,
and then the other guy going out and you're like,
oh man, that was a crazy fight. So those are
the kind of ones that are fun. And so I
wasn't that far whereas like he has the momentum. But
it was like he was, you know, getting some really
good shots in and I thought, okay, if he keeps
it up, he can get it done. He just couldn't
stop quite enough takedowns.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, yeah, Hey, so Islam is fighting. At least that's
my thought. And Michael Chandler has completely moved off from
Conor McGregor's like he got the mimmo. He said, not
only is he gonna fight Charles Olivera in November. He said,
in twenty twenty five, he's fighting and he is beating
Islam Mahachev.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Michael said that.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Michael said, by the end of twenty twenty five, he's
not only fighting Mahatchev, he's beating they give.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
If they give all him, him and Olivera will likely
get a title shot.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yo.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
I don't know who else they would give a tail
shot to. There after Sharrukin's got the next one, and
after that it's probably probably Olivera or Chandler uhrket this weekend, Hey, listen,
you know I love good trash talk. Did you hear
what moconno said about uh the first President. No, well
that was great too, because that guy, that guy's garbage.
(22:14):
Did you hear what he said about Dan Hooker? It
was it was the best tracks. It was great, picture
perfect trash talk. He said. He said, I'm looking at
the rank I think he said something like I'm gonna paraphrase,
I'm looking at the rankings, and it's kind of like
we the e turt opened tree. You know, he didn't
get there himself. Someone put him up there. That's what
I think when I see Hooker at five.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
He did. Yes, wait, Hooker's number five in the world though.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yes, that's what I'm saying. So that that was such
a great trash talk by run out to McConnell. I
mean it was really.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Dan Hooker did beat uh the game Rock he did
be gambrock Yep.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah, he's got some good ways. He's tough, but so
moy Kano essentially said he He also said, I want
the easy fight, so give me Dan Hooker.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Isn't Rod beat Serukian.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
I had to look that one up.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
That's crazy how such a division, a division can be
son closely contested around the middle, and then there'd be
just this massive gap at the very top. Because now
it feels like Serukian and Islam are the two bests.
But for a while, all these great guys were in
the division, but Tony Ferguson kuld Be just seemed better.
(23:26):
It's like weird, how like Max Holloway and Ila right
and in Bulk would seem to be so much further
ahead of everybody else that won forty five. Then it's
a weird. It's so weird how top heavy some of
these weight classes can be. But that's why you get
guys fighting each other over and over again because nobody
else can really beat him.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yeah, for sure, Bro, he didn't like that turn up
in the tree one. You didn't, I didn't.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
I didn't hear. I didn't understand what that means.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Tell me what it means to me, the turnle light
climbing the damn tree. Someone put him up there. Someone
point the damn third in the tree. But it would
put him up at number five in the ring. Dad,
I know insult. I'm not saying he didn't. I'm not
saying I'm saying I love some good trash talk. And
that was a great line. O.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I love I love Mokano. I love that moy Kano
attack the French president. I love that he brought up
some random book and is not first language, so it's
hard to understand what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yeah, he's speaking in third person.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
He attacked hard money. He loves bitcoin.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
He loves money, he loves bitcoin, he loves democracy.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
He says he's gonna have a kid because his dad's
sixty and just had a baby.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Like he's awesome.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Mkan's the man, But I think that he'll probably fight
someone like Patty Pimlin next, and I'm all in on that.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
I think that's fun. I think it'll be a good time. Man.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Right now, Patty Pimlin is ranked, but he's ranked down
around the bottom of the top fifteen. I don't think
he's in the top ten twelve Moyknoll now should be
in the top ten.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Uh, and I think that I don't know if he'll.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Fight back, going uh, going uh down to number twelve
and thirteen. Ben, you have C three er sevens this weekend,
kalol wrong, So you got a shot with Perer.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Well, I was gonna use that for Funky's Corner because.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
I yes, I was gonna say I was gonna say that.
I was going to say, we start our segment. You ready, Well,
you're you're gonna love.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
I think you're gonna love what I have to say here.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
All right, let me introduce it, guys.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Ben and I spoke about this a little bit ago.
We want to give him a moment in the show
for his own time where I shut the fuck up
and let him go, and we call that Funky's Corner. So, guys,
welcome to Funky's Corner. While been asking as it's time,
go ahead, Ben.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
We'll get your Extreme Balance on Amazon, give me a
damn review, Daniel. You know what I was gonna say,
was back in boxing, I used to Actually I got
a Muhammad Ali shirt on right now. I loved reading
about Mohammad Ali. And one of the things is, uh,
he was the A side. People would come to watch
him in boxing they didn't have and they still don't,
(26:04):
and it seems like it was even better. It was
better back then now today's but they would just match
up against the English champion or whomever. Right, He'd go
round and beat these people up and he was the show.
He was the A side. It feels like now that's
what they're doing with Pereira. And obviously in boxing, one
of the things you always saw was you have to
kind of I said this earlier. You have to make
(26:26):
both parties have at least some chance at a victory.
Otherwise is not fun. If we already know what's going
to happen, it's not fun. So you've seen the media
purposely try to build Khalil roundtree up big time over
the course of the last week and a half. They
get us really, really excited, and I think they're trying
to get things. He's really tough and it's really competitive,
and I think Alex Prayer is going to put him
(26:46):
out pretty fast, and the star of Alex Peyra continues
to rise. How do you feel about that?
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Why? Why do you think he's gonna put him out
there fast?
Speaker 1 (26:55):
I think round Tree's going to strike with them. And
what we've seen with people that try to pass and
Alec Pereira, he just he puts him down. I mean,
think about who's been the UFC champion. He is really
powerful and he puts people out well.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
I mean, that's that's a big fight. But to play
the Devil's advocate in uh Utah, we have what we
have now seen Kamara Usman dominating Leon Edwards getting knocked
out at the very end for him to become champ.
We have also seen Dustin Pourier, who had beaten Justin
Gaichee get knocked out and Justin Gage became.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
The BMF champion.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
So, if there's anything to be said about Salt Lake City,
upsets happened, and it would seem that a guy who's
ranked number six seven in the world taken on the
champion is a blueprint for an upset because in those moments,
the Champ.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
May overlook him.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
I don't know that Perera will do that. But don't
are the times they call them trap games in football.
This feels like a trap game for Alex Perira, and
if he ain't ready, seems like a little roundtree with
his power can knock him out.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, what do you think buy my boxing analogy?
Speaker 4 (28:16):
I thought it was good. I like this corner. I
like when you go.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
I thought you want to go a little longer, though,
I really kind of expect you to go more than
one minute.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
I did. Oh, all right, well.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Next time I'll bring I'll bring more material next time.
You know. Honestly, sometimes it feels like because sometimes I do,
you know, Facebook lives and stuff by myself, and I
can go for your ten, twelve, whatever minutes. But it
feels like if I'm sitting here across with Daniel Cormier,
I should be talking to Daniel Cormier. I should not
be monologuing for a really, really long time.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
No, you're smart man, you got a lot of gin information.
That's why we're doing that. I respect you in that way.
That's why I wanted to give you that segment. All right, Ben,
Well it's bedtime. I'm off to Salt Lake City, Bro.
Thanks for doing another episode of Funking Chip guys, thank
you so much for always supporting us. We appreciate it
and we will never take your viewership for granted. Until
next time, I'm Daniel Cormier that has been askering peace
