Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas Knox and Brady Quinn are fed up with the pity party for Lamar Jackson who simply lost at the negotiation table with the Ravens. The fact the Jets brass returned to New York without a deal done for Rodgers may have something to do with Brett Favre. Plus, nostalgia for CD’s and Shawn Kemp.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in the Here. Coming up on
this Thursday edition, We've got more news and notes from
around the NFL, including the crying and complaining about Lamar Jackson.
What's actually going on there. We're going to catch up
with Albert Brier for all that. We're also going to
get the very latest on Aaron Rodgers. Could we be
on the verge of a deal with the New York Jets.

(00:22):
That's the latest reporting on that story. We're also going
to talk about some regret possibly in the NFL when
it comes to one other deal that got done. We're
gonna look at the career of Jim Beheim even better
than you realized. We've got another edition of In case
you missed it and the usual Shenanigans. It's yours coming
up next here, Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
on a Thursday, Fox Sports Radio. You're listening to Fox

(00:46):
Sports Radio. Good Morning, Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
Fox Sports Radio. No LeVar Arrington, It's just Brady Quinn
and I here all the way up until night am
Easter time, six o'clock Pacific, I am Jonas Knox. He

(01:30):
I've been waiting for this. Lock Yeah and loading. LaVar
earned a very much deserved time off, little break celebrating
the anniversary with the misses and doing this thing and
having a few days to kind of relax and get
after it a little bit, and we're just gonna take
you up and just talk football and a bunch of
other fun stuff here on this show. This is what

(01:50):
we do on a Thursday. Would you mind if I
just did something real quick though, because I would like
to point this out because there have been things that
have been called into questions on this show and I
feel like this is appropriate for this first topic. So
sometimes people will call into question my musical talents on

(02:11):
this show. That has been known to happen from time
to time. So I want to prove to people here
that I know what I'm doing when it comes to
the musical format on this show, and I know what
I'm doing when it comes to an instrument in my hands,
and leave that joke alone. I have brought myself in
studio here a violin for this first topic, and I

(02:31):
would like to play this violin on the air because
I feel it's appropriate here. So let me go ahead
and tune this thing up. Get my chin ready? How
does that go? Mm? Okay, get my chin ready. That
sounds weird, and away we go, little beautiful like that.

(02:51):
We got Lee playing the piano in the background too. Yeah, Now,
how are you able to talk while you're playing the violin?
I don't hear many people talk while they're playing. Well,
just skilled, you know. I mean, there's a special mic
we have in studio here. I mean, you know, just
a you know, suspension of disbelief here. That's what we're
doing on this show and we're just kind of playing

(03:11):
it because I feel this is appropriate. And now we've
got it feels like an orchestral kind of sensation going
through the speakers here. Then I feel like this is
totally appropriate because every time I go on and I
see somebody else bitch and moan about the Lemar Jackson situation,
all I want to do about is break this bad
boy out and just kind of play along because I

(03:34):
am so tired of it. For Christ's sake, he got
into a negotiation, he lost the negotiation. They weren't willing
to give him what he wanted. They gave him the
non exclusive tag, and now he's gonna go out there
and he's gonna see what other teams want to offer him,
and everybody throwing this collusion crap out. There's a real

(03:56):
chance here, believe it or not, that some teams in
the NFL don't want to tip their hands and early
and also or some teams in the NFL look at
Lamar Jackson and say, we don't know if we want
to give him that type of guaranteed money for a
guy who hasn't finished the season the past two years.
I love Lamar Jackson. We've done nothing but ballwashed Lamar
Jackson on this show. But if you're going to compare

(04:16):
him to the ridiculous deal that weirdo Deshaun Watson got
from the Cleveland Browns. It's an unfair comp that's the exception,
not the rule, and everybody can't stop crying about it.
I'm tired of it. Here's what I don't get about
the people who are having a hard time digesting this,
and there's a lot of players that are having a
hard time digesting this. How many guys signed a fully

(04:39):
guaranteed deal after Kirk Cousins did it with the Minnesota Vikings. Nobody, right,
No one, Yeah, no one unless they signed a one
year franchise tag that's fully guaranteed exclusive, by the way,
or they signed just a one year deal that was
essentially a fully guaranteed deal. That's it. Kirk Cousins did it,

(05:02):
and he got to free agency. He found a team
that was in desperation in the Minnesota Vikings that needed
a starting quarterback, and by the way, the Jets were
a part of that one, and they unfortunately ended up
helping to bid up the price a bit to allow
then Minnesota to come back with a fully guaranteed deal.
Are you saying there's a theme there with the Jets
that happening well, we can get it to that at
litter point. But the point is that no one else

(05:24):
falls suit. People at the time go, that's not a
good deal. Owners, you know most likely didn't like it.
We didn't see anything after that, but no one was
yelling or screaming about collusion. And I know people are
still going to sit there and say, well, okay, but
you know he's a former league MVP. That's what four
years ago, back in twenty nineteen. Yeah, as you pointed out,

(05:46):
since then, he hasn't finished the season the last two years.
He is an entirely different player when you look at
what they need to do in order for him to
be successful. Initially it was Marty morning Wayne who was
his OC. Right, you go back to do what Joe
Flacco transition to Lamar and Jackson. It was Marty morning
who was the OC. And they said, hey, look, this

(06:07):
isn't Marty morning Wiggs deal. All right, you're like Marty
morning Wig back from the days of Joe Montana with
the San Francisco forty minors. Marty morning Wig right, been
around the league of a long time West Coast, old
school West Coast guy. This is not his deal. Let's
bring in Greg Roman, right, Greg Roman has more success
running these types of offenses, especially with a quarterback who's mobile,

(06:28):
and they had a degree of success for a while.
And in the regular season, no one's going to dispute that.
No one's going to dispute Lamar Jackson the ball to
Raven's ability to be able to win games and get
the playoffs. But in the playoffs it hasn't been pretty.
Teams have adjusted, teams have knocked them out. He hasn't
played well, and now it's got to the point where
he's having a hard time staying healthy. So let's just

(06:51):
on the table, take away all emotion, everything else out
of it, Jonas, and let's just look at it objectively.
If you're a team who's to be a bidder for
Lamar Jackson, as talented as he is, you're gonna have
to change over your style of offense, and that includes
possibly your offensive line, the way that group plays and moves,

(07:12):
how they block. You're gonna incorporate. You know, there's gonna
be some zone schemes, but some gap schemes as well,
different things you're gonna ask them to do. You're you're
gonna look at your tight end group and have to
really hammer down if those guys are capable of being
as big a pass catchers and run blockers as what
this offense would demand a stable of running backs to
be a part of it as well, because the reality is,

(07:35):
you know, playing the drop back passing game with Lamar
Jackson has not worked out. We've seen it for five years.
He's had outlier years like his MVP season, but a
lot of that came from some of the things that
came off of it. It wasn't straight drop back. So
you would have to make a huge transition as an
offense in order to even satisfy what he's capable of
doing and how he could help your team. So, besides

(07:58):
a fully guaranteed contract that apparently is going to be
more than Deshaun Watson, you've got to turn over your
roster and now, because it's the non exclusive franchise tag,
you have to give up two first round picks. That
is a hefty, hefty price for Lamar Jackson. And I'm
not saying that he's not going to equate to success

(08:18):
and winning football games. But for people to sit there
and go, We'll wait a second, you know, why wouldn't
these teams at least be in the mix. I personally,
if I was a general manager, head coach, I wouldn't
have come out that the second that there's a non
exclusive franchise tag put on Lamar Jackson say yeah, we're
not interested. Yeah, I'd explore. I'd give him a call,

(08:39):
and I'd sit there and say, okay, you know what
are you looking for? And I at least asked what
the number was. But two of the teams in Atlanta
and Carolina both draft in the top ten. They can
go find their next quarterback in the draft for way
cheaper and guys who aren't going to require the type
of transition on the roster like Lamar Jackson would want,

(09:01):
or at least transition an offensive philosophy. So it's an
entirely different conversation that people just don't want to acknowledge
because they look at the Shaun Watson and they're like, oh,
it's collusion. I've even heard some people go, what it's racist.
They won't you give him all that? It's like, well,
how does that work? Deshaun Watson got the most guarantee

(09:23):
deal in NFL history. What are you talking about? Right?
With all sorts of extras that came along with it,
like the baggage in the eleven game suspension and all
the other stuff that happened there. I just and the
other part of that too is that, well, the Ravens
did him dirty, which part by not giving him everything
he wanted, which was a ridiculous contract, or the fact
that they moved up in the draft to trade him

(09:44):
when you had other people out there who were talking
about him, and we're talking respected talent evaluators who said, well,
he should consider being a wide receiver. The Ravens made
the move. They're the ones that drafted him, They're the
ones that built around him and said, no, this is
going to be our guy, and they've been nothing but
supportive of him publicly. They've been nothing. But it's not

(10:06):
like the Ravens don't want him back. They just don't
want him back for two hundred and thirty plus million
dollars fully guaranteed, Like, what's wrong with that? I agree,
there's you know, a lot of players in the NFL
deserve guarantee contracts. I think it sucks the franchise tag
a lot of the way this stuff is structured, and
I've learned a lot of that just from talking to you,
because a lot of the fluff that's thrown out there

(10:26):
from agents who report, well, it's a four year, one
hundred and sixty million dollars deal, Well not really, they
can get out of it after one year. You know,
there's certain things that you see with some of these contracts.
I totally agree, But the fact of the matter is,
this is what it is like. This is the way
these contracts are done and the way the NFL has
done and I think there should be more outrage and

(10:47):
more questioning of still, why the hell did Jimmy Haslim
give to Shaun Watson with all the stuff in his background.
Two hundred and thirty million fully guaranteed. That should be
more of the folk the conversation. Not Lamar Jackson deserves
that because he was an MVP and he doesn't have
any off field issues. Totally agree, but that just showcases

(11:09):
what a ridiculous contract that was that Jimmy has them
handed out to Deshaun Watson a last off season, and
we why, we talked about it and we got crushed then.
So you get buried then for criticizing that contract, and
then you get buried here for not wanting, not understanding
why people can't figure out why Lamar Jackson's not getting
everything he wants. I just I don't get it, man,
you can't win with this crap. Well here's the other

(11:31):
thing too that makes things more complicated. Obviously he doesn't
have an agent right now, and it's using the NFLPA
to help consult. But it's almost like this. Have you
ever liked, whether it's like a cell phone company or
a cable company where you had to deal with like
their customer service, which, for anyone who's had to do

(11:52):
it before, like how awful is that? Yeah? Listen, I
mean it's just like it's a it's a non winning
battle and it doesn't help for the person that dealing
with either. But sometimes the customer service isn't great because
they're just getting it all day. But the reality is this.
By a quick story, I talked to a customer service
rep from I don't want to I don't want to
air out the company, but in talking with them, I

(12:14):
could hear dogs barking in the background, and I'm thinking myself,
hold on, you're gonna fix my issue from a kitchen
somewhere in the middle of the country with dogs barking
in the background when I clearly need to talk with
one of the higher ups. It just so Yeah, it's
a pain in the as throwing through. But I digress.
The interesting thing about that scenario is when you know, usual,

(12:38):
when people are are like just they're gonna move on
from the cable company or maybe it's seeing the cell
phone company and they're not coming back, their tone is
going to be a lot different, right, because you know,
you never have to talk to this person or anyone
like this person in this company ever again, right, like
this is it, this is the last straw based on precedent,
whatever it else you want it to be. Yeah, you
never have to deal with them ever. Again. You don't

(13:01):
want to know. It's good to have an agent because
they have other players. And so if a team is
working with a player like Lamar Jackson who's been a
former MVP, has been extremely successful, that agent one is
gonna be pounding the pavement to earn anything from that
you know for him. But also you know what, the
team has to deal with that agent again if you

(13:23):
do if you try to do that agent dirty, you
try to do a bad deal, that agent's gonna remember
and it's gonna be hell and sometimes it for actions
relationships to the point where players even have to go
get different agents to represent them, like we saw with
Daniel Jones switching from CIA to Athletes first. CIA couldn't
get the deal done. Guess who did Athletes first? So
if Lamar Jackson had an agent in this case too,

(13:44):
one of the things that people are overlooking is the
fact that that team they have to deal with them again,
They're gonna have to deal with that agent or any
other team that would bring on Lamar Jackson like, they
have to be a constant contact with his agent, whether
it's for his own player, for Lamar or for other players.
And so those are little things that really add up

(14:05):
when they complicate a very complex situation like this, where
you've got a player who thinks his worth or a
market value is greater than what it is. You know,
if he was Joe Flacco, who was at one point
in time the highest played player in the NFL, by
the way, but he was coming off a Super Bowl win,
he gambled on himself and he went out. And that's

(14:26):
what Lamar Jackson's done. The hard part is he doesn't
have the Super Bowl win, and he doesn't have two
seasons of remaining healthy and being an MVP. That was
four years ago. It seems like it's trending in a
different direction now, and for him not to be able
to understand why a team might be hesitant, I get it,
But you can't look at the Deshaun Watson deal and go, oh,

(14:48):
this is what I should get. Shouldn't Patrick Mahomes restructure
his contract and get that? He should? Josh Allen totally agree.
Should Joe Burrow get that? Then? Do you think Joe
Burrow's gonna get that? He's not gonna get that contract.
I mean, that's the reality of where we're at is.
If it was Patrick Mahomes who wanted this contract and
didn't get it, I'd be understanding of the frustration. But

(15:08):
it's not. It's Lamar Jackson, And I'm not saying that
he doesn't deserve a ton of money, but he's just
not gonna get the total guarantees that he's looking for.
That's just the reality of the type of player he is.
You know what I wonder too, Baltimore has never They've
always been one of the most well run organizations in
the NFL. You never hear a lot of bad stuff
come out when it comes to the Baltimore Ravens, and

(15:29):
I wonder if it would if he went out and
found that a some of these contracts or are low
ball offers. It wouldn't surprise me if Baltimore kind of
did him as solid and said, hey, we're still willing
to offer you what we had before. It's more than
what you've been offered from other teams, but we love
you like. This is not this is not a case

(15:50):
of we're trying to get one up on you and
trying to save some money here or there. Like we're
willing to go ahead and give you the contract that
was still on the table, even though that contract is
what twenty thirty thirty million dollars more over the life
of the contract. It wouldn't surprise me if they still
It's not like Baltimore saying no, not a believer. No,

(16:11):
they just just not into this, Lamar, just go do
your thing. They've tried, they've tried to get this done
for a long ass time. They've been consistent with we
want him back. He's our guy, we want Lamar back.
The idea that they're doing him dirty, I just don't
understand where that comes from. I really don't know, especially
considering when you laid out initially, like they're the ones

(16:32):
that traded up in the draft. Ozzie Newsom's laugh draft
to take him and Eric to Costa was a part
of that too. In that room, who's now their general manager,
and so they've had his back. They've built this thing
completely around him, and I think all they're doing now
is exercising the fact that, like, hey, look, if you
find a team that gives you a better offer than
what we gave you after the market, so be it.

(16:53):
But the other hard part about that is no other
teams want to do the negotiating in the deal making
for the Baltimore Ravens. That's part of this too, like
no one wants to do the Ravens work the Ravens
if we're gonna front two years. And as it worked out,
and so it's gotten to a point where Steve A.
Shoddy and Eric Decasa say, Okay, go find an offer

(17:14):
that's better than what we've offered you, and if you
find that, we'll match it. And that's the position that
they're in right now. It's two pros and a cup
of Joe here. Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks
with you here. You can hang out with us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. So coming up later on,
we're gonna have another edition of in case you missed it.
We're gonna have all sorts of fun stuff the same
three hours Shenanigans, no LaVar Arrington, but it is Brady

(17:35):
and Ives. We take you all the way up again
until nine am Eastern times, six o'clock Pacific. We are
brought to you by Dollar Shave Club, though are you
still over paying for a razor? In this economy? Gross?
With Dollars Shave Club you can get a top shelf
shave at a regular shelf price to other Shave Club
is available to a store near you and the men's
razor Aisle. That's it. That's the ad. So did things
not go as well as a lot of people expected

(17:57):
them too? We'll get into that NFL fell story involving
one star player. That's next. Be sure to catch live
editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with
Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and Jonas Knox weekdays at six
am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio ap OH man oh Man back in the

(18:21):
day Thousand Oaks High School, tell you something five fifty
on the rack man once Jonas Knox with some knee
wraps on. I gotta tell you, big old Wight Bell.
I still remember the day that I graduated from twenty
fives on the bar for bench press up to thirty fives,

(18:43):
and I thought, you know what, there's no way I'll
ever get to forty fives. And you know what, they
were correct because all the gyms got shut down because
of COVID. So that is absolutely correct. So shout out
to gavinue Something for making that happen and squashing a dream. Unbelievable.
I don't believe that for a second. But well, you

(19:04):
know it's the other thing too. If you've got shorter arms,
you do have an advantage. And I've got like weird
long arms. You don't have to worry about that because
you were drinking chopper shakes growing up. You know, you know,
two ribbys, a t bone, half pound of chicken jar,
peanut butter, a couple of greens, little creatine. Now they're

(19:28):
any greens in their buddy. Yeah, tell just straight protein. Yeah,
telling you you got to make that happen again. You
got to dust that one off and drink. Wanted to
just see what your body does. You'll immediately start picking
up cars in the neighborhood, just pack them up. It
would be the same as basically cutting up a brick
and just eating that. Yeah, he's the same thing. Yeah,

(19:48):
that's that is how it's done. And at Dublin Coffin
High back in the day. But it is two pros
and a cup of joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio
it is Brady Quinn Jonas knocks for the year, by
the way, coming up in we'll call it about twenty
minutes from now from the tire rack dot Com studios.
You talk about just a bad story when it comes
to one of the most exciting players that you watched

(20:11):
growing up. We're gonna get into that for you again
a little over twenty minutes from now here on FSR
before we get to this other story in the NFL,
which apparently maybe things didn't go as well as some
people thought they were. We are brought to you by
dollar shave clubs. Still over paying for a razor. In
this economy grows, a dollar shave club can get a
top shelf shave at a regular shelf price. Dollar Shave
Club is available to a store near you, and the
men's razor aisle. That's it. That's the ad. So what

(20:35):
DF man? The Jets just left Aaron Rodgers in California,
you know, probably in some TP somewhere, and then they
fly back to New York. And I mean, what was this?
Just like you know, poking the bear, knocking on some doors,
seeing what if, whether or not he was interested, and
now they just fly back and now we got to
play the waiting game again. I mean, I know you

(20:55):
got intel on this, what's going on here? I really
don't have much to intel on this, least not at
this point. So I think the initial reaction to that
news is typically when you're going out to visit a
player you want, You're not that you're gonna be able
to bring him back with you, but you better have
a deal done otherwise once you leave, it leaves it

(21:19):
open to so many other things. And based on our
first segment, it does make me wonder if the Jets
are negotiating for a trade to try to get Rogers.
He's their number one choice obviously, Nathaniel Hacketts there his
former OC. It makes all the sense in the world
as far as system fit. But I wonder if the
demands are too high or some of the things that

(21:40):
maybe Aaron's talking about with them at this point, and
they're like, well, wait a second, we could just give
up two first round picks to get Lamar Jackson, and yes,
we'd have to financially sign on to a big deal,
but we'd have to do the same thing for Aaron Rodgers.
And we don't even know how long Aaron Rodgers wants
to play. Like that could be part of the hang
up too. The Jets might be saying, if we're gonna

(22:01):
make this move, we need to know you're gonna play
for the next two or three years, Whereas you know,
I don't think there's any doubt that Lamar Jackson's gonna
be able to play for the next five or six. Now,
his health might be in question, but as far as
his desire to go play and all that, I mean,
he's gonna be out there. He's gonna be trying to
win a Super Bowl. So I wonder how the Lamar

(22:21):
Jackson news has factored in, if at all, to the
New York Jets thinking of what they're looking at doing
this offseason because there's no doubt they're gonna go get
a quarterback. Now, in some places, Lamar Jackson if he
doesn't go back to Baltimore, the Jets are the favorite
to land him. So that is part of the discussion
in certain places. But this ought to tell you why

(22:42):
nobody has any idea what actually is going to happen.
And this is all just everybody throwing something out there.
Because if you go to various betting sites or sports
books on the Internet or places like that that offer
up these sort of bets, this action on Rogers or
Lamar Jackson, it's all over the board. Yesterday, the Atlanta

(23:03):
Falcons were the favorite to land Lamar Jackson if he
doesn't go back to the Baltimore Ravens, and now they're
way down the list behind teams like Detroit, Chicago, Carolina.
The Raiders are still in there the Aaron Rodgers odds.
The Jets are, you know, atop the list, but you

(23:23):
still got the Raiders that are mixed into the conversation.
That's the one that I find most interesting because the
one thing that's a stayed consistent when it comes to
Aaron Rodgers is if he doesn't go back to the
Green Bay Packers. The Raiders have been lurking this entire time,
and we were told a week ago, well, they would
have no interest in Aaron Rodgers. The Raiders are out

(23:45):
on Aaron Rodgers. They have too many holes to fill
yet in Vegas, in their own backyard, They've been consistently
either the favorite or near the top of the list
this entire time at minus money telling you. So that's
why I'm trying to figure out, like where do the
Raiders fall in this? Is this a situation where they're
trying to get a gauge on how many moves are

(24:06):
how many teams jump ahead of them to want to
draft a quarterback. They're sitting at seven in the draft.
I just wonder how real of a possibility the Raiders
are for Aaron Rodgers or if this is just DeVante
Adams in their relationship and people think it makes a
lot of sense. I feel like you're hoping they're real
it's a real possibility. It would be fun. I mean,
it would be fun. And now I know that there's
another team in your neck of the woods that has

(24:28):
also been kind of speculated that maybe Rogers would have
some interest in I don't know, it's called speculation. But
you did have Kurt Ben Kurt, who was at one
time a backup in that quarterback room, and look, I
guess this is his time to shine, but he's thrown
out there. He thinks Miami's one of them. They're like, well, okay,
I get the connection there. They've got talented wide receivers,

(24:50):
Mike McDaniel runs a system that I think Aaron Rodgers
would be familiar with. I'm I'm not sure that's the
direction that they want to go. Right the entire off
season so far, we've heard if they're going to after
a veteran quarterback, it's Tom Brady. Yeah, you know, that's
the guy they're trying to lure. So but you I mean,
you get wild speculation at this point about all sorts
of different places. But to the best of our knowledge,

(25:11):
we haven't heard that the Dolphins are even interested, especially
considering what the trade compensation would need to be. And
they don't have a first round pick for this year
if I'm not mistaken, So the Packers might be looking
at the Dolphins even if they were a potential suitor
and saying they probably don't have the draft capital we're
looking for so in exchange, we want some players on

(25:33):
that roster, And I just don't know how you could
be Chris Greer, their general manager, build up this roster
that is obviously capable of winning a lot of football games,
and then say, oh, we're gonna give away some of
those players now just to get a quarterback for a
year or two. It seems like a lot. Yeah, it's
it's unfortunate that Tua's concussion issues have popped up, because
if those weren't there, this isn't even a talking point.

(25:56):
They're talking, all right, what sort of long term deal
do we do? We get done for two and they
haven't even picked up the fifth year option, which, based
on how things worked out, we can get into this
later on with Daniel Jones. Maybe that's something Miami would
want to consider at some point. Otherwise it might cost
them a little more than they thought it would. But look,
Aaron Rodgers and Mike McDaniel together, could you imagine the

(26:16):
cloud of vape that would come out of those meeting
rooms if they were talking about game plans together. That's
fun for everybody. I mean, who doesn't want to see
Aaron Rodgers and Mike McDaniel team up together, because those
would be some wild conversations. I think it guess one
of two ways though, Like it either goes where it's
a way too mellow and you're like, all right, this
isn't even entertaining any way they're not, or we start

(26:40):
having conversations about lord knows what and like wild conspiracy
theories are being thrown out there, and yeah, I mean
it could. It could go one of two ways, depending
on maybe how much we they actually so based on
everything that we've seen reported, the meeting that we know
happened with the jet, all of the you know, the

(27:02):
inner Circle stuff that he's talking about, all the other
things that have come along with it. Based on all
of that, when it comes to Aaron Rodgers, if you
were at a sports book somewhere in the country and
they said, is Aaron Rodgers going to be a Green
Bay Packer week one of next season? Where's your money going? Oh?
Probably No. I think the Packers are ready to move on.

(27:24):
I think it's it feels like Aaron's maybe ready to
move on. I think he's trying to get a sense
of what it's going to feel to go to the
Jets and I'll all throw this question to you because
I was thinking about this too. If Farv hadn't gone
from the Packers to the Jets, do you think this
would be an easier move for Aaron Rodgers or a

(27:45):
more difficult move easier. Yeah, he can say he doesn't
listen to any of the other stuff out there. He
absolutely does the optics conversation, all that, like everything that
comes along with it. I think a lot of this
is about his exit from Green Bay. He wants to
be in control of it. It's why he wants to

(28:05):
be in control of the conversations about him, the discussion
points about him. There's a lot of mistrust he has
with the media, and rightfully so. I mean they were
they were reporting on his family dynamic for years, and
it's what does that have to do with anything? It's
not our business. Who cares what his relationship is with
his parents or his brother's that's not an indicator of anything.

(28:26):
That's not our business. He doesn't have a lot of
trust there. I think he would love nothing more than
to be able to control how he walks away from
Green Bay. I think he loves the fan base. I
think he's loved his time there, he wants to make
sure things are good on that front, but also with
an eye on man. This really seems really familiar, like
something I had to deal with years and years ago

(28:47):
when Brett Farr finally went to the Jets. I think
no doubt about it. If if if Arvid never gone
to New York and done what he did in New York,
which you know, we can leave that for another time
and another day. I don't think Aaron Rodgers even thinks
twice are well just you know, I mean, got a
little got a little frisky with his phone, you know,
I mean got a little got a little loose. Yeah,

(29:07):
just hey, you know, I mean, let's put it this way.
I don't I don't foresee Saturday Live coming out with
a Wrangler Open Fly Gene campaign and commercial for Aaron
Rodgers if probably not, probably not, yeah, definitely, and I
would I would think that's that's probably not the key
one of the all time greats. By the way, although listen,

(29:28):
Aaron Rodgers did get a shot taken at him from
Jimmy Kimmel, who I don't know if you know this,
and that has a Bowl game named after him for
some random reason. But Jimmy Kimmel said Aaron Rodgers might
want to investigate, you know, CTE because he brought up
Epstein Island and all the other names that could be
on that list, and Jimmy Kimmel for some reason was

(29:50):
not a big fan of that. So that was also
Jimmy Kimmel on thet I've been listening. I don't know,
I haven't seen the list. I don't know anything about that.
But there's some people that have, you know, speculated there
might be some names close to his on that list,
or maybe even his. I mean, I'm again, I don't know.
These are just this is all speculatory, but you know,
apparently Aaron Rodgers brings up certain subjects and people get

(30:11):
very triggered by that in mainstream I mean, talk about
things I did not think we're going to venture into.
I just meet Kimmel and Jeffrey Epstein. Yeah, private Island,
this is one of them. I'm just saying, like that
is one of the stories that was out there. He
took a shot at Aaron Rodgers last week on national television.
So if Saturday Night Live went, you know, open fly
Jeans on Brett Farve, It's it's not outside the realm

(30:34):
of possibility that somebody might go at Aaron Rodgers depending
on where he wants to go. But I think there's
some Do you think there's some hesitation to go into
the Jets based on some of his personal beliefs, because
I mean that's one of the things too, where when
you're drafted to green Bay, you went a Super Bowl
for green Bay, you went four MVPs during your time
playing for green Bay. People there are pretty accepting of

(30:58):
of who you are as a player and as a
person and even your flaws. When you go to another
organization where you haven't done anything yet, and especially a
New York market that all they're clamoring for is super Bowls,
I mean, they'll get behind you even if you're not
a good quarterback. They will get behind you. You know,
even if you like to, you know, hook up with
guys moms like, they will get behind you and root

(31:20):
for you and push for you. Even when people tell
you it's not going to work out, they will. They
will bastardize those people. They'll talk trash to them, they'll
say everything, I mean, send all sorts of threats, and
even when someone's trying to tell you the truth that
player is not going to work out. That's how loyal
that Jets fan base is. Now you spend time in
New York with the Jets, how how different was the

(31:42):
media coverage of the Jets and the Browns farm. I mean,
obviously it's heightened because it's New York, and you know,
there's different there's different people angling for different stories. But
you know, even even with Cleveland though, like there's a
certain sense of you know where I think they were

(32:03):
just kind of and I learned this my first year
I got there, because the first year when we went
ten and six, you know, it was like a shock
to people, and there was like a lot of people
in the media who was like almost waiting for that
moment for things to go wrong, like they're like, we've
seen this story before. It's the Browns. There was a
little bit of that sense of things. And of course

(32:23):
you go ten and six somehow you don't make the
playoffs because you don't win the right ten games. But
it felt like a good building block and so there's
almost optimism going in the next season. And then once
everyone started getting hurt, I was like, oh, this is
this is where you know, all that optimism is sucked
right away. We're back to the old Browns. So it wasn't.
Cleveland's not the easiest like media market in that regard.
There are a lot of people who've been there forever,

(32:44):
who are great people, but they've been through a lot,
and so I think they you know, they're looking at
what happened and transpired last year. Bringing him to Shaun
Watson going here we go again. We just paid the
biggest contract in NFL history, and we and then the
guy doesn't look like he's anything close to what we have,
at least not Baker when he was playing his best
for Cleveland. Yeah, so it's just that's a tough comparison.

(33:07):
I would say the Jets to like Denver or Seattle
from the other places, that's a star contrast. You know
where you've got even Kansas City, you've got you know,
b reporters of people who are are they've seen success,
they want to see success, and it's just a different
feel to a lot of those interviews. It's two pros

(34:37):
think they do do that. I don't think berto they
make iPods. Well, they make Walkman still though, did it really?
Oh man? I tell you if they made a Walkman,
I'd get one. I think I still have like some
cassettes somewhere. I think I have White Zombies first album. God,
that's how old we are. I remember being I want
to say, in college, and I used to have like

(35:00):
the CD that people would burn for you, and the
CD like Player I had was like impact proof you
remember those ones, like you drop it, it wouldn't skip
everything else. Yeah, Like that was like a selling point,
like like oh you could drop this thing. Yeah, it's
got shocks in it, it'll absorb the contact. Yeah that
was great. Well I used to think that. I'm like,
if you're dropping this thing or if it's hitting stuff,

(35:23):
it's probably your headphone is probably on arm at that point. Yeah,
it doesn't. I don't I don't understand how that would
how that would work. Also, I don't know I bought
one though I thought it was cool. And then when
you would get the burn CDs somebody like nobody even
put effort into like actually making them look decent. They
would just write with a sharpie like oh here's eminem
blah blah blah. It's like, come on, dude, like, can

(35:45):
you at least dices something shown us? This party mix? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
damn right. I had one of those. Still got it,
Still listen to it. I still have a CD player
in my truck. Still listen to CDs. I do too, Yeah, car,
because I think most people actually still have a CD player.
They still do. It's not that uncommon. My daughter found
the CD the other day. She's like, Mommy, what is this?
And it's like to play music and here is You're

(36:08):
pointing out the stereo and she's like, what do you mean?
Like you just put like you like pretended to tap
the tap to was like, man thought she was center
drink on. I think it was a coaster. Yeah, hey, Lee,
how do you play all Jimmy Buffett's vinyls? I mean
he hasn't come out with the new song Forever. Cassette

(36:31):
player Actually, yeah, we have a whole bunch of cassettes.
When we uh Me and Todd did a road trip,
we literally played like a bunch of Jimmy Buffet cassettes
up and down the coast. Yeah, of course that was
a separate trip. Lee and Todd flew this pastime to
go to Vegas even though his girlfriend he may drive
back during during COVID. Yeah, we drove up to US Seattle,

(36:51):
Washington and back Jimmy Buffett time. What's wrong with you
making your girlfriend drive back? You should have driven her
car and and like getting her a ticket to fly back.
She I don't know, I'm gonna drive. I'm not I'm
gonna fly. I'm not going four and a half hours
back and forth between Vegas. Silver is dead man for

(37:15):
class Actlee, dam right. Yeah. By the way, Less I
was came out in twenty nineteen. No, okay, well listen,
not that far back? I mean? Was it was that?

to you in just a minute. Um. Hey. Sean Kemp,
former six time NBA All Star, was arrested on a
felony drive by shooting case in Tacoma in an incident

(38:23):
with a person outside of a Tacoma mall. In a video,
you can see him holding up what looks like possibly
a firearm. A firearm was look you know, picked up
at the scene and he was arrested in charge. This
is disappointing. I mean, I don't know if you guys
know this. For some reason, I was a huge Sean
Kemp family. I mean it was back to the days

(38:44):
when he was with the SuperSonics obviously not Cleveland. He
got pretty big when he got to Cleveland, but popular
or when the lockout. Yeah, yeah, I just I loved
them back then. I loved his game, Baseline Jays like
he just Yeah. Remember Xavier McDaniel. I loved x man
in in Seattle. Xavier. That was beforehand, wasn't it was
it performed? I thought they played together. They played together. No,

(39:07):
was that the end of McDaniel's career. Yeah, I don't know.
We might have. Yeah, but man Sean Kemp one of
my favorite dunkers of all time. Yeah, violent, especially when
he got to like three hundred and forty pounds. Great,
like he got big in Cleveland. Watch out below. He'd
be breaking backboards, like breaking the floor inderneath the who
be careful you shop with him too. Fox Sports Radio
