NFL that's back kind of Deshaun Watson. Oh yeah, Deshaun Watson,
(01:55):
who's got himself a little bit of a fetish show.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
It's done.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, it's interesting. There was these two cases, these two pending,
you know, the cases from a couple of women who
have still have not been settled with. They want to
go to civil trial and they want to have their
voices be heard. And you know, it should be pointed
out that before we get into the statement from Tony Busby,
which is something to look at. Yeah, Tony Busby's back,
(02:21):
it should be pointed out that regardless of what happens
in this case that popped up yesterday, according to Tony Busby,
Watson's not going to face further sanctions by the NFL
because he's been punished for the accusations that came in
the same timeframe in twenty twenty in twenty twenty one
when he played for the Houston Texans, so that according
to it's just civil.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
These are civils, yes, So you know, I would assume
that if they were criminal, these are criminal trials, then
you know, the NFL has to approach it differently.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
If the guy comes back guilty.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
But civil suits, I mean, that's that's you know, you'd
have to assume it they had his numbers.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
That That's a great question though, or a great point
only because I don't know that that's necessarily true. Jonas
just kind of touched on it. I think the NFL
has said they're not going to punish him again for
anything that came up during that period of time.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
And there are these.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Two no this period, right, this is.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
From that period.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
This is just there's two individuals who decided not to
settle their case and they feel like they've got a
better shot of receiving some.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Sort of more compensation.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Well compensation, but but even I mean, ultimately you're just
trying to it's not always about money, it's about trying
to in this case for two because Jonas can get
into details. But Lauren Baxley is the woman's name, and
she she wants him to admit guilt, you know at
this point, like that's if there was a settlement that
would want to be. One of the conditions is he
(03:51):
has to put out an omission of guilt, which I
don't think he ever.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Has, right.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
No, yeah, he's always maintained, right. We never heard come
out and say, yeah, I'm sorry, you know that I
did this. I mean, I think he's apologized, but I
don't think he's ever apologized in an admission of I
did it, like right as people said.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
And she's looking if she was going to settle, and
this could just be attacked by Tony Busby to try
to get them to essentially settle for whatever monetary amount,
but also you know, admit to her that he did
he did something wrong, you know, apolishing admission of wrongdoings,
and also you know, to make sure there's a promise
of rehabilitation, which is interesting that you know Buzzby and
(04:34):
her would say this in her as in Lauren Backson
only because you know, I was under the assumption that
he had to go through rehab during his you know,
time being suspended by the NFL.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That is what the NFL said. Part of stipulation was
he had to do something like that.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
And it was almost like that was the NFL's way
of justifying, well, yeah, it's it's eleven games, but he
is going to have to see, you know, do rehab
and go see it as specialist and a therapist and
all that stuff. And the fact that this is even
being brought up makes me wonder whether or not that
stuff is happening. I would assume that it would be.
I can't imagine that he would want to mess around
(05:10):
with any of that stuff. But Tony Busby said the
following when it comes to this civil case that is
still pending there amongst those many cases, I believe twenty
three or twenty four. You lose track at after about
five or ten, so we're up to about twenty four.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
It'll be cheerful, don't be too harsh. You know who
represents Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Who's that again? Oh gosh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
He might send them. He might assume the gains out
for Yeah, he might. My lawyer, I certain my rights
under the Fifth Amendment. You he'd say his agent, he said,
his lawyer, thank you. Well, you don't hire David look
at it for legal work and may come home. I
thought he could do it all. Not enough.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
So this is from Tony Busby. Quote. Today we filed
emotion to put Lorne Baxley's case on the trial docket
in the Houston court where it was originally filed, Busby
said in a statement provided to Cleveland dot Com. And
it was Mary Kaycabin who reported on this and did
a great job. So quote. All other victims in the
Deshaun Watson litigation that this firm represented have settled their claims.
(06:13):
Missus Baxley, to her credit, has refused and wants a
public trial. I intend to help her give her that
she's entitled to have a trial on her claims. I
will proudly present her case. Miss Baxley has a strong case,
and I encourage the internet trolls to take note as
we proceed. So Tony Busby's not letting up a foot
on the gas full throttle, and Tony Busby is going
(06:36):
after Deshaun Watson here again. So right when you thought,
if you're the Cleveland Browns. All right, at least we
got the tough stuff out of the way. Let's just
focus on this season where jobs could be on the line,
most notably for Kevin Stefanski. Here we go during the
off season for the Cleveland Browns that have to deal
with more of a more drama surrounding Deshaun Watson and
his two yet thirty.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Minute And this thing goes one or two ways.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Either gets dismissed or there could be a settlement where
it doesn't go to trial, which I believe a jury
decides on this once they hear the evidence of whether
or not it should. But the other key point to
this is it's in a court in Houston, So you know,
I would assume that if this does go to trial,
it will impact DeShawn Watson in the sense that he'll
(07:20):
have to continue to travel back and forth to Houston
if it doesn't get dismissed.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Two hundred and thirty million guaranteed, and he's going to
see every cent and.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
This is going on, He's not going to see every cent,
you know. Well, you know what I mean, He's had
to pay out settlements.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, I mean, there's some settlements.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
There's going to be I know it isn't always about money,
but it is always about money.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
But I think about too though, Like as much as
you point the finger to Sean Watson, Jimmy Haslm sign
him to that.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeap, Yeah, Like what does that say about Jimmy Haslm.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, it says that Jimmy has you know, I saw
and you know, shouts out to Fox Fox's shnnon Sharp.
He did an interview with with Steve Harvey not too
long ago, recently, and Steve Harvey is like, I'm a
Deshaun Watson fan and basically went on further to say
(08:17):
his advice to Deshaun was, you know, just don't turn
over when you're getting your massage, like just stay faced down,
you know. And my whole thing is right, yeah, I mean,
and he is a comedian, so you know, if you
know the root of it, I mean, maybe he is
just being funny. But to me, there are a lot
of people out here that don't think he did anything wrong.
(08:39):
And maybe someone like Jimmy Haslin clearly, I mean, with
the type of investment that they put into him, they
don't feel like he did They they believed this story.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
They believe he didn't do anything wrong.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
And I just find it interesting because there is the
truth is there somewhere what it is, you know, and
it could be truth by interpretation too, you know, don't
I don't know. It's like that's one of those complicated,
you know, conversations to have the closer you are to
this situation.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
But I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
There's a contingency that doesn't think that Deshaun Watson is wrong.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
If there's nothing wrong.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Happen, if the truth is somewhere in the middle, then
the middle is well, maybe not all twenty four weren't
willing participants in what happened, but maybe it's like ten
or eleven, which is still ridiculous to think about long term.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
To use, I would go back to the initial When
there is thirty that came out as accusers and then
thirty that came out in defense, you're still going, Okay,
this dude's got a problem, right, You're sick in the head.
If you number many different saucee therapists, the number itself,
you've played for one team, and even if you travel
a lot, okay, But there's something off there that's it's
(09:53):
predatory in nature, and I think anyone who looks at
that you know from the prism or or from the
perspective that has daughters. Imagine if that was your daughter,
she's a she's a massage therapist. She goes in assuming
that you know, this is going to be a professional,
you know deal, where she's gonna do what she's been
trained to do, and instead it turns into something sexual
(10:16):
or a decent exposure, exposure or something else. I mean,
imagine how you then feel as a father, Imagine how
you then feel as a mother or sister, et cetera.
If you're getting that story coming back to you, I mean,
you be beside yourself.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And so again it would be besides de Shaun Watson,
if it was my daughters, I'd be right beside him,
and we probably be in the more work or in
lock up, because that's that's how it's going to go down.
And that's what I'm saying is I lived an amazing life,
like I've I've lived enough life for for three four people.
So let somebody come, Let let let one of my
(10:56):
daughters come home and tell me that somebody did something
like that, And y'all have my admission right here, because
I would I would plead guilty.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I would.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
I would tell the courts, I'd tell everyone I am
guilty of the law that I broke.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yes, do you want too? I took it into my own.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Do you want us to represent you so we can
at least get somebody?
Speaker 2 (11:14):
No, I don't. I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I don't, you know, because I'm not even joking right now,
like on on everything I love. Let one of my
daughters come home and tell me somebody did something like
that to them.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
And that's so we mounted up.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
The point is like, that's what that's what I look
at it through is you know, I do think there's
some truth in some of these, and like Jonah said,
maybe it's not all of them. I mean, you'd like
to believe all of them, but you know, you know
that there's certain people who have different intentions and that
that's a possibility too. But there's too much smoke for
there not to be fire. Yeah, I mean, come on,
(11:48):
that's the general issue with all this. It seems predatory.
It seems like something crazy was going on, and so
I continue to go back to but then you have
an ownership group that and by the way, like when
people say, well Jimmy has on those guys, you must
have been okay with it.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
They didn't do that much digging around.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Because they didn't get involved in the process of even
looking at Deshaun Watson until very late into that offseason.
I mean, he was going to Atlanta, it was a
done deal. And then they turn around and give him
a deal that he can't refuse. That quarterbacks are still
trying to get in this league that no one else.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Will give while all this stuff is out there. Yeah,
why all of it's still going on.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
They got into a bidding war over a guy who's
got close to thirty pending lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct,
and they grossly overpaid what Atlanta was offering. And it
was so much so to where Deshaun Watson already had
a Falcons jersey and he didn't even think about it,
but it was sitting on like a foosball table when
(12:48):
he posted a picture of his Browns jersey. So the
Browns willingly outbid Atlanta because they had to have Deshaun Watson.
How bad must things have been with Baker Mayfield or
how desperate must they have been? Jimmy has them said,
forget all that stuff, We'll give him two hundred and
thirty million dollars guaranteed. How can you say, no, it's crazy?
Speaker 5 (13:05):
But this though, like, like, how does that make you
view him as an owner for being able to contribute
to that agreed? Like, I don't what's his that's and
that's why I feel like every every owner, Yeah, every
every owner looks at him though and goes, not only
did you put us in a tough situation, whether Steve
Bushatti with Baltimore and Lamar Jackson or whoever else put.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
What a questionable dude? Well, not only does it?
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Does it frustrate them from a business standpoint, but I
think there's also a lot of other owners.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
That are like, are you serious? Like this is the
guy you want to give that deal to? Like this
is this is the guy? Like this?
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Like it really put every single owner then, not only
as a player that has done more on the field,
like a Laura Jackson or whoever else you want to
throw that conversation that's next up Joe Burrow already, et cetera,
but every single other quarterback that has done that on
the field already and has also been better off the
field doesn't have thirty pending lawsuits.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
I mean, the whole thing is. It's absolutely real.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
It still blows my mind to this day and we're
talking about something that's already over a year old. Like
that decision has already been made. It's still hard to
understand how Jimmy Hasl would make that decision.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Let me ask you a question, because I know you
still are close with people in Cleveland obviously and in Ohio.
But in the city of Cleveland, people that are connected
to the Browns or cover the Browns, how is this
landed with them?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I mean, honestly, it's mixed.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
I mean you get some people who are like, I
don't know enough about it, and I just want the
Browns to win.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
I mean that's the thing. Like this was born out
of desperation. They went to.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Quarterback, apparently Baker, they drafted number one overall, who wins
them a playoff game.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
That wasn't good enough.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
No, you know, he plays to an injury his final
year there, it's not good enough. Whatever happens happens. And
then they moved on to Sean Watson. And the sad
thing is like Jacoby Brissett actually played some good football
for him last year, but not many people highlight that.
They they want to see what they have in Watson
considering the investment they made, But you get this kind
of mixed reaction to yeah, you know, it stinks, but
(15:09):
we just really want to win like that.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
That's that's how it that's how it comes off, is they.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Realized that, like you know, at this point, yeah, he's
our quarterback, so we got to support him, you know.
But the second things go wrong, I think they're all
going to be like, all right, good, thank god, can
we just get someone else in here.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
It's crazy because because they did a whole They created
a whole campaign around when all that stuff happened with
ray Rice, a whole campaign, and only because they were
able people were able to see it, right, I mean
you think about no one was able to see what
could you imagine if some way, somehow, with all these
(15:47):
people that have come out and sit with Deshaun Watson
has done, if someone actually captured that s on camera
and we were able to see what that man did?
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Me?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Did you a man?
Speaker 1 (16:00):
The I mean, but the idea of what the representation
of the league and what that means, like the conduct
policies and all the codes that have been put in
place to govern the players. Can you imagine the s
show that would be if there was actually footage that
(16:22):
confirmed and showed the lewdness of the situation that took place.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
I forget where it was who came out with it,
but there was. They released the testimony of the women
and there was a common theme in how he had
his preferences, and it's so revolting and so disgusting the
way it was described. If there was video of that,
I would love to hear the NFLPA try and justify
(16:50):
why he didn't deserve at least a full year suspension.
I would have loved to have heard their justifications.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
It's why I think what Lauren Baxley is doing is important,
because if she does get this thing to trial, we
will be able to see some of this stuff come
to light. And so there's part of me that that
hopes that, like, we get at least that per perspective
and everything that happened from the trial, and maybe even
Deshaun Watsons too, because he hasn't really spoke on any
(17:16):
of this now. Listening to that would have to further
the conversation of the NFL, even though they sit they've
already levied the obviously the the disciplinary actions against Deshaun Watson.
Then we won't go any further if it gets bad
with the exposing of information. If it gets bad, what
(17:39):
is the NFL going to do? Oh we already we
said We're not going to further punish him.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
I don't think they can do anything. They already. I
think that was part of the part of that gram
is wow.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
And there still is one other pending lawsuit that's early
in the discovery process, so that is also out there.
It's not as far along as this one is, so
there's still, you know, more information we gathered.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Got what a disaster it is. Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you here. All right, So coming up
next from the tire rack dot Com Studios, we have
got optimism for one of the worst situations in the NFL.
We'll tell you who that is next.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming
up in a little over twenty minutes from now, we
are gonna have our MIDWEK Awards. It's a Wednesday tradition,
the good, the bad, and the ugly. We'll get into
that for you again, coming up twenty minutes from now
from the tire rack dot Com studios. Now, can you
guys guess which team we'll just go back to last year?
(18:57):
We'll do something a little recent here, which team last
year had the lowest attendance in the National Football League.
Can you guys guess if you had one guess each,
who would you say it is?
Speaker 2 (19:06):
It s It's Washington the Commandos with.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
I say, Jacksonville, Brady Quinn, you are correct, it is
the Washington Commandos, who were the lowest attended team as
far as home games. Crazy, Yeah, it's that's that's your.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Is So that is Do you understand how sad that is? Man? Well?
Like that is. That is extremely sad.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
But there is some good news because according to team
president Jason Wright, who I believe I have this correct,
he got a touchdown pass from Brady Quinn back in
the day. I believe I have that correct, Jason right,
Jason Wright. Oh yeah, right yeah, Jay Wright kind of
touchdown from Brady Quinn back in the day. What are
you talking about, Jason Wright. He's a good man, trying
(19:56):
to Northwestern. Yeah, trying trying to steer smart dude that
you know he has seen.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Tight ass pants on a media row. Whoa hold on? Now,
that's the European cut. That's how it's done, all right, man,
Them pants was painted on that. That's how you am not.
I am not against tight pants because I've gone skinny
because I got skinny legs. So I'm in the skinny
skinny jeans conversation. But got dang, bro THEILM Joints was
(20:23):
with you know, he was definitely was Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
All that that was tight.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Okay, that's right, okay, all right, skin tight?
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Well he did.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
He was on Shammy Rigg.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
He was on CNBC's Last Call Old tight Pants. Jason Wright.
He once got a touchdown from Brady Quinn and he
said that once the sale process of the Commandos was
announced last November, that it triggered a spike in sweet sales,
selling in a week what they would normally sell in
a year, So there's some optimism there, LeVar. So you
(20:55):
can't be sad for that much longer if this thing
goes through and dance finally out. Apparently they're already building
momentum to try and get from the bottom of the
league as far as attendance goes and sweet sales go,
that the Washington Commandos could be back.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
I mean, that's that's kind of okay. That's still more
of a gimmickry. That's kind of a gimmick for me.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Trying to find some optimism here like this is that's.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Kind of a gimmick for sales, Like oh, the surprising
announcement of the selle of the team has triggered sweets.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Why it's the same team. It's the same team. Like
my whole thing is I chair for the Washington football team.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
I really do. I pull for the Commanders. I pay
attention to the players and who they are. Obviously, Johan
Dotson is my favorite player on the team for obvious reasons.
I like mcglaurin, I like the team. I've always pulled
for the team through the years. I never up cheering
(22:01):
for the well, I guess I'm about to make the
point I guess maybe it isn't a gimmick because.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I would honestly come back.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Somebody asked me, would I come back once Dan sales
the team. I said, hell, yeah, I come back. I
can't I go to games, I get tickets. What's that?
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Why?
Speaker 5 (22:16):
Why is John dottson your favorite? Here's Troy Apkey as well.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
I like Troy Apke, but Johan is I like to
I just love his game, Like I'm a fan of
his game, you know, like Troy Apke, I do like
play fast fast as white boy, that boy fast.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
I love the way.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I mean, he's fast, fast as white boy clip.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yeah at the cowboy. That's what he got out there
in the forty whoa, whoa, didn't see that coming. I
was like, well, if anyone, if anyone actually fall.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
College football, you do his backer and had a track
back around.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
He was super fast. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
So yeah, so I did Penn Stater, but Johan, and
Johan could be like a pro bowler. He can be
like he can be a guy, like he can be
a guy in the league. So anyway, I'm just a
fan of him, just regardless. But yeah, I would go back.
So I guess I'll take it back. Maybe it isn't.
Maybe it isn't a gimmick. Maybe the people that wanted
(23:18):
to support the team from closer that have supported the
team from afar because I can't support the team close up,
because that comes across as I'm either okay with Dan
Snyder or I don't. It doesn't matter to me. The
team means more. Whatever it is, it's still connected to
(23:40):
helping that team, and I'm not doing it. I'm not
doing anything to help that team as long as that
man owns it.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
What about when Dan Sneyder leaves and they still suck?
Is it still Dan Snyder's fault?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (23:52):
But and I think that the idea of it is
that support that would be there for them during their
their slim years of not playing well or looking well.
There still would be optimism that the team can improve.
There would be optimism that it's an organization that's trying
to take this team into the right direction. Whereas I
(24:15):
don't think anyone would mistake the fact that Dan Snyder
has proven that he is incapable of being that type
of person to the community and to that organization. So
I think that it would totally change how the fan base,
how they support and how they approach the team just
based off of the feeling of relief and the feeling
(24:37):
of we can move on and we can move forward.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Now.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I mean, you gotta keep in mind he took he
jacked up six flags for us two.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
What do you mean? What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (24:48):
So it had jacked up? You know, they had to
kick him off of like you know, he owned six
flags or whatever. They had to remove him from the
board and all this because he was running six flags
into the ground too. So it's god like he just
runs everything into the ground and everybody be looking at
it like he'd be jacking everything up for everybody.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
How do you run six flags into the ground? How
do you run six flags into the ground? Not tighten
the bolts and colossus? And people look it up off,
look it up and just look it up. I don't
even remember the details of it.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I know they kicked him off of that he was
on like the executive board or whatever. They kicked his
ass right on off, like you can no longer be
a part of this board. How do you like you said,
I'm sure somebody's sitting there on that team, like, how
are you messing up six flags?
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Sir?
Speaker 1 (25:33):
It's six flags sell some cotton candy, some funnel cakes.
People buy tickets to ride, they want to go to
the water park, leave them alone.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
And what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (25:43):
And amusement parks. Seems like it wouldn't be that difficult
to run, like, I don't know, it's kind of kind
of right.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
It seems like, you know, you get the process. Yeah, right,
the process is going run to run the dang place.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
I don't know, but he has messed up in the
community on multiple levels. I mean, he messed up with
Red Red Lion, Red Zebra too, like he jacked up
everything he's ever like anything that we've seen him have.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
He's jacked it up.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
With the Flying V was it or no, that was
Jimmy has I'm.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Sorry, that's the Red Zebra.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
I was joking around and I said Red Line, but
it's Red Zebra like that, and that's the media company,
you know, which he since has gotten rid of that
as well, I believe.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I don't know if it didn't sell for what it
sells for.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
I don't know that the man has any assets like
anything that he's done that has appreciated since he's had it,
Like I don't even know. Like when you see the
way his businesses have crumbled in front of our faces,
like and like right there, it makes you wonder how
did the man get wealthy enough to be able to
purchase the team to begin with? You gotta start like
(26:47):
dissecting that because to me, he's not a successful business
guy and he doesn't know how to treat people. And
it's and it showed, and it's continued to show. Now
we're here where we are now?
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Oh man, Well, optimism though, because now today.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Maybe so.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
And the circulation for Jason Wright's legs, there's optimism.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
When when is this thing to get done? By the way,
when does the sale going to get quiet and finalized?
Speaker 5 (27:16):
They just got conditional approval, They just actually i think
announced that at some point yesterday.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Okay, well, good for them.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
It's it's all still moving in the right direction. So
so here's the hard part about when when there's these
ownership groups who are bidding on professional sports teams, it
could be ones that are already in existence, which can
a lot of times be difficult because to LaVar's point,
you're you're combing through the actual business operations, the financials,
(27:44):
your profit and loss all the all the financial statements
you want to see, which a lot of it you
sit there and say, well, you know, some of this
public will will know, and that's what makes it kind
of interesting. And for you know, if you're not a
publicly traded company, all right, there's there's less of a
window into the operations and how things function or work.
(28:05):
And so for people out there who have ever, you know,
bought a small business, especially when you're talking about like
really small businesses where it's it's it's a business, but
really it's just you know, one person doing the work
and they're kind of funneling some of the funds in
and out through you know, their their work as part
of their living expenses and kind of living off of
that even though it's you know, it's it's it's an
(28:27):
LLC or it's it's a company. And the reason why
I bring this up is it takes a while to
really sort through the bid that has been placed by
the Josh Harris Group and then what the perceived value
of this franchise actually is to Lvar's point, as you
cone through it all, and how much Dan Snyder was
using for his own personal use or how much is actually.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Legitimate versus you know what's on paper.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
There's there's a lot of due diligence that goes into this,
and there's a lot of times where things can fall apart,
or the actual price paid for that business could it
could up being altered or different. So it's a long
process for buying any business, let alone one that's going
to cost you what six billion at least reportedly. Yeah,
so that's all part of it a lot of times too,
(29:13):
you know. You know, as when when you've got an
ownership group, they're looking at the ownership group and and
you know there's committed capital, but there's not necessarily all
the capital yet.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Right. They have a group of people who say, I'm
willing to commit this much to it.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
I'm willing to commit this much to it, right, And
you know, once it's finalized where you are selected as
the group that's going to buy that team, well, guess
what all those people now what's called a capital call,
and it's time for you to pay up. And so
you've got to send in all the funds and they've
got to raise all those funds to be able to
then be ready for the closing. Once everything's done with
(29:47):
all the due diligence to make sure the business is
exactly what Dan Snyder.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Says it is. So it's a long, complicated process.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
It looks like everything's still moving forward, but these things
are become difficul They're always like a open shut, you know,
you know case in regards to how things are, especially
when it comes to Dan Snyder and given his track record.
You know, when you look at the sale of the
Carolina Panthers, I think that was a little quicker process
because you weren't looking at an ownership group where you were,
(30:16):
you know, had these accusations of how the business was run.
You know that that wasn't the issue of why they
moved on from Jerry Richardson. So because of that, it
was a little different situation as compared to now where
it seems like this is much more convoluted. And so
David Tepper, could you know, swept right in, made his bid,
took over ownership started moving forward. For the josh aroscroup,
(30:39):
there's probably a lot of stuff they've got to you know,
dig through and uncover to really figure out the worth
of this franchise.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
I will say this FedEx field is a natural surface.
It is an artificial turf. And you know what, that's
what causes thirty two percent more non contact knee injuries.
Is that artificial turf that I'm talking about?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (30:58):
And my people at America Grass Sea Company Pennington, they're
on a mission, man, They're on a mission to ban
turf fields with their hashtag flip the Turf movement. So
go to Pennington dot com slash flip the turf. That's
Pennington dot com slash flip the Turf now to learn
more and sign the petition for teams to get rid
(31:21):
of Dance Night. I mean, I mean hashtag flip the
turf to real grass.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
My bad, My bad. It is two three and off
of a different script. My bad. That was the give
rid the Dance Nighter script.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
That's all right, yeah, that's uh.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
You know I made mistakes here and there.
Speaker 4 (31:33):

Strand blasting clock her down.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Brooks Trand gets his own rebound, puts it back toward the.
Speaker 7 (32:58):
Goal and never got through us.
Speaker 5 (32:59):
Ye stars Stars on the far side.
Speaker 7 (33:04):
It's hammered it off the rebound.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
That's what I'm talking about. That is ninety three point

get into that right now, though. It's time for this.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
There are some good things that happen, and there's some bad,
and then there's some downright ugly things. It's time for
good bad and ugly.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
All right, lead to laugh. Who's got what this week?
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Will?
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Guys?
Speaker 7 (33:58):
As we do each and every Wednesday, we start with
the little good news, and LeVar, you have the privilege
of giving us the good this week.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yes, it's kind of simple to me, even though I
started to show off telling you guys why I was
so upset and felt so bad because I said the
Lakers was a non factor. But I tell you what,
they went once seventeen over the one twelve of the
Golden State Warriors, and the good of that was.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
We talk about Anthony Davis so much.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
Some people call him street closed Davis, some people call
him mister Glass. But you know what, he kicked some
ass and you saw that was a bar right there.
Thirty points twenty three rebounds. That was an amazing That was,
needless to say, an MVP performance by Anthony Davis. So
you know what, people give him all the trash, and
(34:46):
they give him my man shouts out to my man,
Bubba Dove trash. People give him a lot of bad
feelings and give him a hard way to go and
a hard time. But you know what, I'm gonna give
him as proppers. That's my good of the week, Davis
his performance in a game one went for the Lakers
over Golden State.
Speaker 7 (35:04):
That was good, but you can't have good without the bad.
Jonas what was bad this week?
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Uh? Me?
Speaker 4 (35:09):
And it happened not too long ago, and this show
is all about accountability. I came on the air and
I said that Jason Wright got a touchdown pass from
Brady Quinn while teammates with the Cleveland Brown.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
It was actually in a preseason game.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Yeah, but my problem was I confused it with Jerome Harrison.
Jerome Harrison got a couple of touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Their pants were tight in the game, So I don't know,
Jerome for you to to kind of confuse it.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Brady, did Jerome Harrison wear tight pants? Do you recall?
Is that that I don't.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
I don't think you did. Okay, not in the game
he didn't wear pants?
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Did but I want to I would like to apologize.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Dump pants was his pants at that media row was
as tight as his game pants in the game.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
Speaking of speaking of the Great State of Washington, I
would like to apologize to Jerome Harrison of Washington State fame.
I want to apologie, guys, to a cougar, My my
sincere apologies to you for confusing you with Jason Wright
and catching a touchdown pass from Brady Quinn. That's my
bad for the week. I own it. This show is
(36:11):
all about accountability. That's exhibit A right there.
Speaker 7 (36:13):
Lead to lap right on. Well, what's worse than bad?
That's ugly? Brady? What was ugly this week?
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Man?
Speaker 5 (36:21):
I I hate to pick on him, but Dylan Brooks
talked a lot of talk. It didn't work out in
the end, Lakers Lebron move, moved on, and then he
didn't face the music to even talk to the media afterwards.
And now it appears that the Memphis Grizzlies aren't looking
at signing him back. So just kind of kind of
(36:43):
ugly all the way around, and it's unfortunate. I actually
feel like, you know, he's he's good for the league.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
You say what you want.
Speaker 5 (36:52):
I think the league's got to have guys who are
perceived to be good guys and you know, you know,
villains or bad guys, and and maybe he kind of
comes off as more of a bad boy or how
everyone describe him. I remember kind of going through the
dan Age of Dennis Rodman, some of the antics and
things he would do as a defender to getting guys
heads and just the way you mess with him. A
lot of people have tried to mess with Lebron and
(37:14):
it's not worked out. So not surprised by the outcome,
but just just overall, not a great week for Dylan
Brooks with the closed out of the series, you know,
not facing the media, and now the Memphis Grizzlies are
saying it's okay, we're.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Gonna let you walk by the way. They were pretty
quick to an now say we're going to be bringing
him back.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yeah, that didn't He didn't flash a gun or show
himself in a strip club with all the ones on
the floor with a stripper on it.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Yeah, he must have been the problem. Now I'm just.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Saying, you know, I digress. I mean, be a bad
guy on the court, but lose your job. You a
bad guy in the strip club? You're the star?
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Are you saying? Chris Carter would call him the fall guy?
Speaker 1 (37:54):
I guess he was the fall guy. Every team's got
to have one, you know what I mean, got a.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Crew go, you gotta have a fall guy.
Speaker 7 (38:03):
Dylon Brooks a US Marshall.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Yeah, Nah, he ain't US Marshall. He had the US Marshall.
They don't fall, No, they don't fall.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
