Speaker 4 (01:14):
So we were.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Talking earlier in the show about the NFL. There's been
a move made by the NFL. They're now going to
show a playoff game coming up exclusively on the Peacock app.
So if you were getting a little bit fed up
with having to go on your iPhone to try and
watch a game, or go on your cell phone to
watch a game, or having to go to all these
(01:35):
different places on your TV and go to this app
and that app and be redirected here to watch, Yeah,
it's just happening.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
It's how this is going to work.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Reportedly, according to the Wall Street Journal, the NFL is
going to make one hundred and ten million dollars roughly
on that one game. So things are changing when it
comes to the NFL and how they're going to be
showcasing these playoff games. Now it comes to the Dallas Cowboys.
Your guy Michah Parsons, he is somebody who I guess
(02:05):
has apparently tried to want to make a move. He's
wanted to try and become more of a defensive end.
He's wanted to try and improve and make a switch
over there and make that his full time position with
the Dallas Cowboys. Micah Parsons has been wanting to be
a pass rushing defensive end. He's been wanting to be
(02:26):
a guy that Dallas could rely on when it comes
to that side of the football, even more so than
he has. And he's been fantastic over the past couple
of years, and so there's been some speculation, all right,
so what is this new Micah Parson's going to look like?
He's worked with Andrew Whitworth this offseason to try and
figure out, you know, how do you how do you
(02:46):
guys as an offensive lineman handle a pass rusher like
myself like, he's really tried to take his game to
the next level. And so one of the things that's
been brought up is could this be a full time
switch for him no longer being alive being considered a
defensive end. And his defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn spoke about
the potential of this position change, and here's how it sounded.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
He is a pass rushing linebacker. Okay, So if you
ever need position changes, come to me. Okay, not through
any of the guys, and we can just that. I
think what he was probably trying to say is I'm
really emphasizing some pass rush into my off season.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
So that sounds like a hard no for the position change.
So yeah, it doesn't sound like this was a debate
for a position position change though. Yeah, any intel on this,
you guy, Michael Paul, I don't listen if you paid
attention to the things that I've said. Since he's come
in to the National Football League. They they figured out
(03:51):
that Micah Parsons could pass rush the quarterback better than
what they had probably originally had anticipate paid it.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Why And I'm sorry to interrupt, but I want to
ask you because you saw him from because he's part
of Styck City. You saw him from high school embryotic
stages of his football career all the way up to
where he's at now. Was he ever like this in
Penn State? Or was he used wrong?
Speaker 6 (04:17):
Like?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
What was his like? Why was there such a using?
You can't use him wrong, That's the thing about it.
He's so versatile you can't use him incorrectly. So this
was always they choose to use him as they ended
up having injuries. If you recall in Dallas, they put
him at defensive end because guys were hurt, and then
(04:41):
they figured out he could he could pass rush. He
was a defensive end in high school. He was a
running back and a defensive end in high school. They
moved him to linebacker in college, so he played middle
linebacker outside backer in college. He was not an natural linebacker,
(05:01):
so then they figure out that he's a he can
pass rush when he gets to the NFL. I've been
saying it from day one. He's they're playing him like
a stand up defensive end. And my whole thing is,
you can classify him a pass rushing linebacker if you want,
but when it comes down to giving him his second
(05:25):
contract and you pay him, I hope they plan on
compensating him as a pass rushing linebacker that has the
impact on the game that an adge rusher does and
pay him the equivalent of a salary that's comparable to
a premiere pass rusher in the NFL. To me, that's
(05:47):
the reason why I would want to change my position
distinction to defensive end, hitting into way he's hitting into
his fourth year, right, So if you're heading into your
fourth year this could be an extension year, third year,
third year, third year, third year, third year, third year. Yeah,
so I mean this, this could be an extension year.
(06:09):
And and so to me, if you want to call
him pass rushing linebacker, that's fine, but do not devalue
his impact on the game, because he's more impactful as
a pass rushing player than he is as a pure
linebacking responsibilities player. He's not he's not standing off of
(06:35):
the ball playing the run. They're using him as a
pass rusher. It almost looks to be over ninety percent
of the time. I mean, his success, his success in
his his stardom has come from them using him as
a pass rusher. Yeah, so they they they should. There's
(06:55):
nothing wrong with defining him, giving him the distinction of
being a defensive end. But if you want to call
him a pass rushing linebacker, just be clear, don't take
his numbers down. Don't drive his numbers down by calling
him a linebacker when you're rushing him all the time. Like,
(07:16):
don't do that.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Well, it was kind of so because he's a little
bit of a I don't want to say tweener, but
he's listed as something, yet his skill set is he's
a pass rusher, so his skill set is something that
a down lineman would possess. Yet he's a linebacker and
so that can you're aligning him as a defensive end.
You're aligning him as an edge and you're bringing him
(07:38):
off of the edge. Now, you may use him in
different situations like a rover or an X backer where
you move him around. He may end up being in coverage.
But if anything, that just makes him more valuable that
you can take a guy that can pass rush and
if need be, you can match him up and put
him on somebody man de man to cover them downfield.
Michael Parsons is athletic enough to cover the most athletic
(08:01):
tight end.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
He could cover. He could probably even cover a slot receiver.
He's probably faster than them. He's fast. So I just
think it's one of those things. He's getting to the
point and somebody probably got in his air and he's
probably he's one hundred percent within his rights to fill
this way. You guys should define me as an edge rusher,
(08:23):
a defensive end, because that's where they play you. That's
where they play him. He is constantly coming off of
the edge of the defense. Constantly and so why would
you not define him as a defensive end. Why not
just call him a d.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
N That's how he most impacts the game is rushing
the court one and so yeah, it is, it is.
I just wonder does dan Quinn because dan quinnin seemed.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
I don't know if it was a little annoyed.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
I don't know dan Quinn enough to know what his
tone is like, but it was almost like no, no, no,
I'm calling the shots like he's he's not going to
be this, And you know, maybe Micah Parsons and him
have had a conversation. He said, listen, you're better as
a linebacker. We think we can use you better that way.
I do wonder how much does this impact what sort
of a deal he gets, because does Dallas look at
(09:14):
him and say, in these negotiations, listen, you can call
yourself whatever you want. You're listed as a linebacker. We're
not paying you like a defensive end.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
No, remember that that was happening with tight ends.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Jimmy Graham wanted to be looked at as a wide
receiver because he thought, I'm not on the line. I'm
more you know, standing up and in the slot. Why
am I not being paid like a wide receiver, and
that was the big gaggling point.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah, so this is one of those moments where you'll
say a guy like von Miller, a guy like de
Marcus Ware, those type of players who can do both.
It's interesting because you look at the Marcus where he's
a d N, right, because he's not. He's not nearly
(10:08):
as as athletic as Michael Parsons. But you shouldn't be
You shouldn't be penalized for having tremendous athletic ability so
much so where it translates to other positions where you're
called a linebacker but you're being used as as a
(10:30):
rushing d N. Which I find to be interesting that
dan Quinn is at least smart enough to make sure
he keeps the verbiage in a way where he can't
be held accountable for for anything else calling him a
pass rushing linebacker because in the end, if you don't
want to pay him like an ad rusher, then stop
putting him on the adge and rushing him, simple, right,
(10:54):
And then you're going to use him as a linebacker,
then use him as a linebacker. Don't don't don't pass
rushing you're using him as he is as effective a
pass rusher is any defender in the National person League.
And if that's what you're getting out of Michael Parsons,
(11:14):
then you need to be prepared to pay him like
a premier pass rusher in the National football He's.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Two years in, he's got twenty six and a half
sacks like you know, as a linebacker, a d n
or whatever you want to call it. And he's been,
you know, one of the real stars and great fines
for the Dallas Cowboys. He's going to get a monster contract.
He's going to get paid.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
You know.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
And I just wonder, I mean, like, who's this representative?
Who's his Michael Parsons age your people? Yeah, my people?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
But you you're in Brady's People's who that is yours?
And Brady's hashtag team Will Lagetta? What is what I'm hearing?
So I hate on that man so bad. I just
want to fairly bang with him all like that. But
I'm not. I ain't into him, Like I just want
to picture with him, that's all. I just want to
picture with him, that's all.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
But Michael Parsons, according to Dan Quinn, going to be
staying a linebacker, so the pass rusher extraordinary. Michael Parsons, Listen,
I don't know if this means there's going to be
a rift or there's gonna be an issue there in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
There's gonna be any sort of problem. They're gonna mess
that one up. No, no, you can't screw that out one.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
And by the way, if you're Michael Parsons and wondering
whether or not you're gonna get the contract you feel
your owed, just take a look at who you're going
to be negotiating with. Because Jerry Jones's last two negotiations
where Zeke and Dak, and he lost both of those.
In fact, some people would say Jerry Jones lost his
ass on both of those because the Zeke contract he
got everything he wanted and then some and it was
(12:46):
never quite the same. And Dak Prescott, coming off an injury,
got everything he wanted and then some. So if you're
Michael Parsons on the fact, yeah, that's that's what you're
gonna be dealing with here, and you're probably gonna get
a decent contract you It is two pros and a
cup of Joe.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Here.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you. Coming
up next, we are going to take a closer look
at these tire rack dot Com studios at a matchup
coming up in the world of sports. That's got throwback
written all over it, throwback written all over it, and
it's yours here on FSR.
Speaker 7 (13:17):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Come on, take a guess why Why Here Go? Here Comes?
Where goes? Jane's addiction? I know the song? Oh yeah,
(13:59):
I know. I know all these songs because they're on
my brother's high school highlight tape. Wait, your brother had
Jane's addiction on his high school he was on his
high school highlight tape. Why would he have Jane's addictionhit?
I mean, why wouldn't he ben Cott stealing? It was balling?
Was he a baseball player? Is football doc like football?
(14:20):
So why would why would Ben Cott stealing? But on
his highlight video? What you mean it was the team highlights?
What do you have on your highlight video? Bob Marley.
I had Bob Marley music online fire just sit back,
light one up and enjoy. They sold that joint to
(14:40):
raise money for special Olympics. Nice. Make a wish, Excuse
me make a wish? Yeah, Bob Marley on the Bob
Marley on that Bad Boys. You still have your high
school highlights somewhere? Yeah, somewhere. I'm sure my parents have
have the VHS cassette somewhere. Yeah. Well yeah, man, pretty
good highlight film too. It's probably like about forty five
(15:04):
fifty minutes long. It's like a real movie. Yeah, short movie.
I don't think there's anything in my life that if
you put it together, it would be worthy of forty
five or fifty minutes. And I mean anything. Take that
for what you will. I don't know. Yeah, my nighttime
performances would warrant a much longer video than that. They
will lead that, Yeah, it will lead that. Yeah, everybody's imagination. Yeah,
(15:30):
it's up to that.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah, two pros and a cup of Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox of the air. All right, So
coming up later on this hour, about twenty minutes from now,
from the tyrack dot Com studios, we are going to
put a bow on this bad boy with another edition
of you In or You Out as we close up
shop here.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
So we'll get into that for you.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
But the big conversation that'll be taking place later on
tonight and our friends listening on the blowtorch am five
to seventy LA Sports, You've got a late playoff game.
Game one of the Western Conference Finals is coming up
later on tonight. It's the Lakers at the Denver Nuggets.
It'll be mile high in Denver ad versus the Joker,
(16:13):
like we talked about classic matchup. Lebron James is there.
You've got everybody coming out. Everybody wants to be a
part of the momentum that is the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now that Rob Polinka finally said, you know what, Lebron,
your roster building is awful. Let me take it from
here and here the Lakers are in the Western Conference
Finals and they're playing at altitude. So of course Lebron
(16:34):
James was asked about any of the effects of playing
at altitude coming up later on tonight. Take a listen
to King James.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Is the altitude real? Do you feel it? And how
does the impact you and others?
Speaker 6 (16:49):
If we get tired a lot faster, and then you
would if he wasn't in it.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
In the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Is it throughout the game?
Speaker 6 (16:55):
It's pretty much in the first quarter, a little bit
in a second that they about the playoffs series. You're
here for a few days, so it's just like when
you go from East coast to West coast at the
time differences just sleep for a couple of days, but
then you get just.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
To it all right.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
So you being somebody who's played my you played in denever, correct,
I had a hell of a game, yeah, any effects.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
I don't recall it, but I do not. Like Rian
Clark is one of my homies. I know he was
dang near died playing up in there, you know, because
of the whole like you know, sickle cell trade or whatever.
But I know guys have felt it or complained about it.
(17:38):
I don't recall it. I don't recall dealing with it.
But I mean, you know, I'm always critical when we
have Lebron James topics. Probably generally critical of Lebron, But
I mean, this is like this one right here, I mean,
it is what it is. He's probably right, you probably
got to adjust to the altitude change during the first
(17:59):
quarter of the game or whatever. And you know, like
you said, like a time change or anything, your body
has to, you know, acclimate itself to what it's dealing
with so that it can protect you and what it
is that you're doing. You're out there exerting all of
that energy and running around and jumping around. Your body
(18:19):
has to be able to support what it is that
you're doing. And if that given environment is changed and
the altitude is making it harder for you to get
oxygen for you to breathe, it's going to be a
little bit more difficult. Why are you more critical of
Lebron James. I don't. I'm I'm I'm super critical of
Like I generally go towards the side of like, why
(18:41):
is Lebron James complaining about altitude? Like that's generally what
I would probably do, But you know, I don't know.
I always have that My son Keino is and shouts
out to my my twins. By the way, h LeVar,
and happy birthday to you guys, sweet sixteen's. You know,
(19:07):
he's a big Lebron James fan. Kino is and he
fights me tooth and nail about Lebron's greatness, like literally
every day. And so I think I get Lebron fatigue
based off of how much my son likes him. So
I generally take a very very critical approach to how
(19:28):
I talk about Lebron, sometimes purely based upon how my
son feels. Yeah, you carry it with you.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
It happens, you know, like sometimes people grow up around
something and you just you can't stand or you get
tired of that that person or that team or that topic,
just because you have to deal with it all the time.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
And that's got to be a testament and a compliment
to Lebron. James.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Oh, listen, he's I mean, whether you want to argue
who's the goat him Er or Jordan, And that's one
of the most tired discussions in sports radio history, Like
whatever you want to call, he's top two all time.
I mean he's top two. Some would say, if you
want to throw in Kareem or whoever else, he's at
least top three. And if your top three all time,
(20:09):
the discussion ends there. In my mind, like you're behind
the game. I feel like if you're top five of
all time, yeah, discussion is over. Yeah, It's like you
are where you are and he's been fantastic.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
I think one is by itself, and then two, three, four,
and five are what they are.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
I mean, look, and Laker fans get upset about this
because if you're ever critical of the Lakers, especially in
Los Angeles where we're at, you're considered a hater.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Like you're just one of these haters.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
But I don't think that people look at the Bubble
Championship the same way they look at the regular chap.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
I did. I thought it was more challenging for them
to get it because there was no fans, the the
circumstances were very, very extreme, and I knew as an athlete,
a former athlete, you were going to have to have
superior mind and emotional control and stability, toughness to be
(21:12):
able to get through that period of time and concentrate
enough on playing at a high enough level to win.
I thought that was probably the most challenging of championships
that year. Now, I don't think there should be an
asterisk like, oh, it was not a real year. I
(21:32):
think it should be looked at as it was going
to be more challenging to have success in that type
of season. Just a half ring.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
And again, I mean and these are very easy to do.
You just take like so the first top of the ring,
like if you're staring down at your ring finger. For
anybody listening here, especially on a five seventy l A sports,
I'll explain it to you. So that so if you
stare down at your finger, the top portion of your
finger would have the actual ring, but the underside it
(22:01):
would be just a little band, like you know what
would be on like the old n ninety five masks
we wore at the time. It would be like a
band that would attach one side of the ring to
the other underneath, so it wouldn't be solid gold all
the way around.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
So you would have your ring.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Your championship decal it would say twenty twenty NBA champions
and it would be a picture of Mickey Mouse and
like the Tea Cup rides. And then underneath it would
be what was your mask at the time that would
attach the bottom portion of the ring underneath the fingers.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
So, because they were at Disney and correct, you had
to wear masks.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
And it looks some people like I refer to it
as the Captain Eo Cup, But if you want to
call it the NBA Finals, that's fine. But you can
were splitting the hairs here like Listeny Lebron. You know,
they did some good things and now here they are
when everybody thought, you know that they were going to
be nothing this year and it was going to be
another disappointment, and we're going to get Anthony Davis versus
(22:56):
the Joker. And this is what's interesting about this series.
It's one of the rare times where a series involving
Lebron James is relevant. Also not the matchup that I
give a rip about. I'm all about a d versus Joker.
He's almost like Lebron's really taken a step back because
(23:16):
everybody wants to see Jokers first Anthony Davis.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
I mean, why not. It's going to be fantastic, man.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
And if Anthony Davis does what he did the last
series and plays the type of defense that he played,
which will be really tough to do against Joker Man,
the Lakers are going to be going to the NBA Finals.
Like this team's going to be in the NBA Finals,
and the NBA will be thrilled because that's going to be.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
A ratings bonanza.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
So it'll be a lot of fun coming up later
on tonight and by the way, for those of you
degenerate gamblers out there, and you know who you are,
the Denver Nuggets are a six point favorite in this
game coming up later on tonight. So there's there's all
that good stuff. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe. Here Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington Jonas Knocks
of the Year and as always you can hang out
with this.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Yeah, like on time, kind of sort of clock guys,
like you're three minutes off.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
But listen, you know we're clock guys. We're all about
the We're all about the clock here on this show. So
I'm always on time to updates on the weekend.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
Yeah, me too, Yeah, always never late, yeah, Jay, I
mean it's what we do. We get to our breaks
on time. Everything.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
By the way, for those of you that are missing out,
there's a four hour block of sports radio. It really
is just dynamite stuff like and and by the way,
if you are not a fan of this show, I
would highly encourage you to check out Fox Sports Radio
from noon to four Eastern time because you're really gonna
(24:43):
like what you hear there. If you're not a fan
of this show, you're gonna love what you hear Eastern
time on Saturday. Love it Johnson, look at it. He
loves it all right? So uh for all the latest
though from around the world of sports, Let's please go
over to the one and only Eddie Garcia. U please Okay, Well,
I'm just looking at these be attacks on the TV.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
You're seeing this stuff. This like Eddie Eddie Killer b Garci.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
This this volunteer police officer got attacked by mash in Encino,
which is the neighboring city to Sherman Oaks where our
studios at, like knocked him on the ground.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
The guy could like we couldn't protect himself.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
He's got a gun on his hip and he's just
rendered useless because these bees are attacked.
Speaker 8 (25:30):
Like stop, drop and roll.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Well what's the move there? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
I'm allergic to be so i'd be terrified. But I'm
just watching this guy go. Come on, man, you're volunteering.
Come on, like, find something else to do.
Speaker 8 (25:44):
Oh that's that's not good. Also, maybe not good for fans,
but probably good for the NFL. The league announcing that
wild Card Weekend Saturday night game will only be available
by streaming the game through the Peacock app It's the
first exclusive live stream playoff game. It'll take place on
January thirteenth, twenty twenty four. College football quarterback Dylan Reola,
(26:07):
number one prospect in the class of twenty twenty four
original commit to Ohio State, has now committed to attending
Georgia NBA Playoffs. You guys are talking about off on Monday,
but coming up tonight, as you said, it is Anthony
Davis versus the Joker Nuggets host in the Lakers Game
one of the Western Conference Finals. We had a Game
seven in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs last night with
(26:27):
the Stars getting by the crack in two to one.
Rookie Wyatt Johnston gets the game winning goal and Jay
cottingrew twenty two saves. Then for Dallas they advance to
the Western Conference Final. They'll face the Vegas Golden Knights.
In baseball games, I know we had the Dodgers walking
off with a nine to eight win over the Twins
in twelve as they win it on a bases loaded
walk in that twelve inning. Max Months he had a
(26:47):
couple of homers during the game for LA. He has
fourteen on the season, tops in the major leagues. The
Dodgers have won six in a row. Show hey Otani
gets to win on the mound and he had four hits.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
By the way, Eddie, I was going to.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Ask you this, and maybe I'm crazy in asking this question,
but I was going to ask Eddie Garcia this. Have
there been more blowouts in the NHL Playoffs this year than.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
In year's past?
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Not that I've noticed, okay, because it felt like there
was a lot more like wider margin of victories, Like
last night was a good game. Obviously two to one
was the final, but it felt like in other games
there's been a lot of wipeouts, more so than in
previous years.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Passed m No I don't think.
Speaker 8 (28:56):
I don't think so, not that I've noticed anyway.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Yeah, because LaVar and I we grew up on Penguins hockey.
We needed like we were outstanding goaltending, whether it be
Tom Barrasso or Ken reggittt. You know, if you want
to go to the Johann Hebburg days, I mean, whatever
you want to talk about here, LaVar and I are
all about goaltending coming from the Berg.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yeah, yeah, that's true. Definitely Barrasso. Yeah, yeah, old Tommy
b Yeah, I still have a.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
What about flower, come on your boy?
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Well, yeah, Marc Andre Fleury, but he got screwed. He
got screwed over. They went Matt Murray and I think
they probably regretted it afterwards, only after he won the
two Cups.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
After that.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yeah, I still have a Tom Barrasso co host Street
Revolution hockey stick at my mom's house. And I have
a Mario Lemia wan too, still with the black tape
on it.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
And uh unused because you didn't play street hockey. I
tried to. It looked good. I tried to. Yeah, I
just I realized I wasn't. I wasn't great on skates.
Speaker 8 (29:58):
You guys have to like yell car and then move
the net out of the street, that kind of thing
when the car came to.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, but like the park down the street from us,
there wasn't a lot of traffic over there, so it
was easy to do. And then if you couldn't find
anybody to play goldie, you would take the plastic net
and you would turn it on its sides so it'd
make the what you were shooting into a little a
little bit more difficult. But man, that was back in
the day. Street hockey was fun. Did you play street hockey?
Speaker 4 (30:21):
LeVar? Of course? Yeah? We rollerblade rollerblade street hockey then
and ran did both? Did you play? We? We were
so into hockey in Pittsburgh. We actually used to organize
games at There was a basketball court called San Greek
Sangree Field that was walking distance from our house, and
(30:43):
the kids from up top where we lived would play
kids from down on the bottom and we would all
meet up at at this hoop court and played like
a full court game of hockey, like for real, would
you guys play the ball or a puck?
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Because there was that orange ball, remember that hard orange
plastic did We actually did use an orange puck too,
at some point we used a puck too.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
At one point, here's the problem with the orange pucks.
When it got too hot out, they would expand a
little bit and they would almost become round.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
It was a little bit hard to pass the puck.
From time to time, we was playing games. They had
they had our goalies had real equipment. Everything was real.
We had the gloves, we had our sticks. It's pretty cool. Yeah,
I was a lefty. Stick was a lefty. I played.
I played hockey lefty. Yeah, they called him Levarmar Yagur. Well,
(31:40):
I mean I was. I was. I was running. I
was running around everybody. You know Leavarmar Yagur back then, though,
you know, that wasn't going to be what I chose
as my career path. But I certainly was good at
it in my in my casual time, damn right, and
my extracurriculars time I'm talking about I wasn't. They were like, man,
(32:01):
look at him go that they sounded. Look at the
way he's going up and down the court. He's so
much quicker and faster than everyone. Just watch them.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
LeVar Mariyager at the puck, LeVar Mariager hey.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Show tease scars.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
Who said that? Who was that voice? No more? Oh God?
Why am I blanking? No more? Hey shout sand Hey Scott?
Why am I? Why am I blanking?
Speaker 8 (32:28):
Scratch my back?
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Where the hecks? Aw?
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Oh God? Why am I blanking? On the name Eddie
helped me out. Yes, Mike Lang. Jesus, there was a
bar in Pittsburgh. It was Mike Lang's Bar where you
would go to watch the games, and they would have
his call synced up with the TV call, so when
he went to watch any Penguins games, Mike Lang's.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Call would be going on there.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
So uh oh, just one of the great voices of hockey,
Mike Lang.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
So good stuff.
Speaker 3 (32:55):

Speaker 11 (35:03):
Easy one to start it off. Penn State announce its
wide Out Game will occur September twenty third versus Iowa.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Possibly out No, no, y, Chad's in the hell, I'm out,
I'm all the way in. It's Penn State and Iowa.
That's what I'm seeing. Jeez, I mean, so the stripe
Bout game must be Michigan.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
I'll say this, who's the is Manny Diaz still the
DC in Penn State. He's got to have this one
circled on his calendar because Iowa's offense is so bad.
They're so bad that the coach's son has a stipulation
in his contract in order to get paid. They've actually
got a score this year. That's how bad their offense is.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
You know, I'm in.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
I'm a big Penn State guy through and through. I've
been trying to tell LeVar about the greatness of Penn
State forever.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
Now.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
I will most likely be at that game. Are you
gonna be there? Most likely you're gonna be having a
LeVar Island. I will probably have already had LeVar Islands.
I will probably make a visit to LaVar Island and
be on the island by the time the game starts.
(36:16):
And what day does that lead?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
September twenty third.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
All right, let's get it going.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Man.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
What else we got made you miss this?
Speaker 11 (36:25):
We might we missed this yesterday, but you can still
stream it. TMZ investigates Britney Spears The Price of Freedom,
a one hour documentary on her life after her release
from her conservatorship.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
You guys enter out.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
About based on all the other stuff coming out with
Britney Spears.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
I'm in. Why not? Because you never know what's gonna
happen next.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
I mean, she could she could shave her head again,
and that's entertaining to you. I just all of a sudden,
somebody pops up and they look like Sinead O'Connor.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Kind of, she's already done it. Okay, what if she
does it again? Why you want to keep up with
her crazy?
Speaker 3 (37:04):
It's just well, she's a she's a local, and she
mingles amongst regular folk.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
From time to time. It's true, Like, but I'm out.
You know, you never know when you're gonna bump into
old Jonas. Jonas is out. I think I'm in. Kevin
Featherline was involved and it went a little bit more
in depth to all of that. Maybe I might be
in because there's some parts that may have some sanity
(37:33):
connected to it, But otherwise I'm out. What else we got?
Jonas is out to you're.
Speaker 11 (37:40):
Out, fellas. It's National Mimosa Day. Mimosa is usually a
weekend thing, but it's a you know, it's Tuesdays for
tacos and Margarita's. Really but are you guys er out
on mimosas?
Speaker 4 (37:52):
I can see somebody's in on mimosas.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Mimosa MANSI over there, Yeah, of course she's in where there's.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
A stunner mimosa mons. Yeah, okay, all right, Uh she
got too excited for me to say I'm out, so
I'll say I'm in. I'm in on on Mimosa month Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
The problem is they used cheap champagne and you end
up with a headache.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Not me, whaty years, I specialize in cheap No I can.
I can drink cheap cheap stuff and I get ahead ache. Really,
what you think long islands are? That's not top shelf No,
you thought I was doing top shelf long islands. I'd
do the same exact long Island I did when I
couldn't afford to get anything more than a long island.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
By the way, if you did top shelve long Island,
they'd probably be like three thousand dollars a piece. There's
a lot of booze in there, so if you went
top shelf on every every booze that was.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
In Long Islands, that would cost you quite.
Speaker 11 (38:49):
Me and Todd we're gonna get Long Islands on our
before our flight and think, God, the waitress was kind
enough to say, you know, that's like a thirty dollars drink.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Wow for a long Island at the airport. At the
airport bar Jesus, why I never even paid attention to that.
What are they normally? Probably like eighteen twenty. Okay, so
now it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
When I worked at TGI Fridays when people would come
in for a happy hour, they were all about because
once it hit seven o'clock the happy hour price has
changed and Long Islands were the big sellar during happy
and now it makes sense because they're expensive.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
I didn't know that Long Islands were expensive. Long Islands
are supposed to be cheap. It's the cheap way to
get drunk fast, that's correct. But they've turned into a
thing now. So it's like because of people like me,
they want to tack to you for Long Islands. Yeah,
shouts out to the Long Island drinkers out there. There
you go, put off Long Islands. I'm in. I'm in
(39:46):
on Long Islands.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
