be ten thousand, one more time, ten thousand, one mulgan
(01:37):
ten grand wow, which is about ten grand more than
the amount of goals that were scored in the US
women's soccer game a short time ago.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Or the amount of money people lost. Not over a
what a bag of craft that was.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
But congratulations to the US women's soccer team.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
There they're running around, hold minutes.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Point, you run around for one hundred minutes and you
don't score.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Sounds like my personal life. But the point is.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
That point is the US women's national team is on
their way to the knockout stage.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
They kick balls, don't.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
They kind of did, and you know, not the most
impressive performance in the world score because because of the aggregate,
the uh, the US women's team is on their way
to the next round.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
So a nothing nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Or nil nil if you prefer the blowhard terminology when
it comes to scoring, uh, and the US is onto
the knockout stage sore, you go.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
At least there's that.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
But hey, Fox's coverage was phenomenal, absolutely fantastic.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I just want to for you, Jonah. I just want
to beating there that you're not They're not coming for you.
What a you're talking about? I was asked to fill
in on a day roll, were you huh circle it back?
You gotta just rub that one and uh just let
everybody know.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
By the way, I saw mister shampoo Man was on
on FS one, TJ Houshman, Zada Flex and TJ R One.
By the way, you wouldn't know for those is it
miss panteene Man or mister Shampo Man.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, panteene Man and stretch Armstrong. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
For those of you that listen to up on Game
Saturdays nine to eleven Pacific noon to two. Yeah, yeah,
Eastern time. Yeah, you would know what these superhero names
are for Labar TJ and Plexx.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah. Yeah, we do a show.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Well up on game Yeah so lebar Arrington, Uh huh?
Can we have a talk about something here? Why you
want to discuss? I just want to know what happened
when Aaron Rodgers grabbed a post hole digger and decided,
you know what, I want to hang out underground for
a few days. Because he was explained to Peter King
(04:02):
of NBC Sports the decision to the Peter King yes
to take a pay cut, and Aaron Rodgers had the
following to say, quote, what it comes down to is
it was the right thing that made me feel best.
I thought it was important they knew how committed I was,
And in my conversations with GM Joe Douglas, he has
(04:22):
made it very clear the vision for the football team.
You probably agree with this this year compared to like
two thousand and five, the amount of transactions that happened
now with guys getting cut and the amount of trades
way more than before. Big names move at the trade
deadline now. I wanted to make sure that if somebody
valuable came available, that we'd be able to get him
I'm very happy with the contract. I feel great about it.
(04:45):
So he went underground thinking he was going to retire.
He came out, had one sort of a back and
forth either through his agent with GM Brian Gudokunst the
Green Bay Packers, and now not only is he back,
he's elsewhere. He's got a seven year deal and he
(05:08):
is doing all of this just to make sure that
the New York Jets have the ability to add pieces
if the New York Jets want to add pieces. What
the hell happened underground that Aaron Rodgers has done this
sort of and about face?
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Can I get some conspiracy music to be on right,
I would hope. So there we go. I'm gonna tell
you what I solve mysteries here. We know whichever one
that we could pull up is as quickly as possible,
because I do have a theory on what happened.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I'm Robert stack back from Las Vegas. LeVar Arrington has
got himself a conspiracy theory. It's one that involves Aaron Rodgers,
and it may or not involve weed underground.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
While he was there for four or five days, well,
he was underground in the tree and it was a
hot Bit home. What people fail to mention is, well,
there are Hobbits that are in inhabitants to the place
that he went. He was seeking the wise counsel of
the old wise Hobbit in the Hobbit Friends of the
(06:16):
Hobbit Council. And while sitting down there in the darkness
which wasn't darkness, there were candles that were lit. They
sat and they reasoned, They reasoned and they sat, and
after that time that was spent so well, so productive,
(06:41):
so enlightening. Aaron Rodgers came from that place, that deep
dark place, with a plan, and the blueprint of that
plan was to take a pay cut so that the
world would see that Aaron Rodgers isn't selfish, to let
(07:03):
the world know that getting a good player meant more
than getting the thirty five million. Once he realized that
this was the plan that he was going to execute,
he also realized that it painted a further not so
(07:26):
flattering picture of the Gunta Kuntz and the other guy
by what his name is? What? Mark Murphy, Yeah, we
get it, Murphy's baby. So now you say, Aaron Rodgers,
the selfish wanting MVPs playing for Aaron Rodgers that was
(07:47):
no one comes to Green Bay except for Aaron. Aaron Rodgers.
That Aaron Rodgers has now endeared himself not only to
the Jets faithful and to the front office. But then
it leaves the people who love him the most, the
Hall of Fame part of his career, scratching their heads, bewildered, confused, rithargic,
(08:16):
trying to understand why, why would you leave and be
a different person than the person that we were painted
to think that you were. Is it good? Is it bad?
I don't know that we will ever know the truth
of this, but yet instill the faithful of Green Bay
(08:41):
sit there in fear, knowing, uh oh no more music.
Oh well, there you go. I'm done. Music is done,
So I'm done. Fine. They are concerned about what their
future holds for their team. Look, Jordan Love has thrown
some really really good balls and in practice, but is
(09:03):
he good enough to take the mantle that has been
so heavy to hold because of the last two quarterbacks
that have held it. I think people want to understand
why he would be willing to be so cooperative in
New York but not come across as that person in
Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
So I'm looking at this whole situation, and first of all,
I think it's great that Rogers is doing it.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Good for him and for all the you know, a
lot of people don't think it's a great thing. Well,
I think there's a lot of negative Former players don't
think it's a great thing. Oh, they think its a
bad precedent. Well, they think that it's it's fake. Some
some guys think that it's fake because it shouldn't come
down to finances to prove and show that you want
(09:49):
to win a championship. That's up to the organization to
figure that out.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I think that this also shows that no amount of darkness,
no ayahuasca, no sort of you know mental you know,
the concoction you can take that'll get your mind to
go to a different place for a few minutes so
that you can all of a sudden reevaluate yourself. None
of that, Yeah, none of it. None of that has
(10:16):
the same effect as the good old fashioned chip on
the shoulder.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
The chip on the shoulder is undefeated. Well, Aaron Rodgers
chip on the shoulder is pretty Oh, it's it's got
a great resume.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Because whatever he whatever interaction he had with the Packers
when he came out of there. He then said to himself, Oh,
so so you're getting rid of me like you guys
went out on this.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Okay, we'll see how this works.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
And he has now done everything the opposite of what
he was painted as. And he talked about it, you know,
I think it was with Pat McAfee starring aj Hawk
on the Pat matter, Like he talked about it and saying,
you know, there was this narrative that was built that
I would you know, I wasn't available all the time,
and I wasn't totally invested into the team the final
(11:02):
year in Green Bay. And I think all of that
stuff has led him to this to where he said, Okay,
I'm going to show you how invested I am. Here's
a bunch of money I'm going to give back. Here's
what I'm willing to do. I'm going to go above
and beyond. And that's the portrayal that I'm going to
give you since you wanted to portray me as something
else elsewhere like that. That's what it feels like to me.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
But that's disingenuous, hey, I mean, And so now it
just comes down to, honestly, what it really comes down
to is what the results will be right if they
win in New York. If he wins the Super Bowl,
he arguably becomes one of the biggest names ever in
the history of the game. Yeah, just because of what
(11:43):
that would mean to that market and to that team
in particular, if he were to deliver that type of result.
I think it just ultimately comes down to what their
success level is. He's building a great case in terms
of being endearing in and being loved by the fans.
It's a very difficult market. I mean, I played in
(12:05):
that market. It's not they're not the nicest people. They
they want a winner, and they have a New York
state of mind, as we've heard in songs that that
that's a real thing.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
So let me ask you a question here though, and
in regard to that, do the Jets feel like like
you played for the Giants? Which do have and I'm
not trying to insult Jets fans here, what the Giants
have have history? Yeah, they have sort of this prestige
to them. Yeah, and the Jets kind of feel like them,
like the hood. Yeah, they kind of feel like the Mets.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
It's kind of like around the way. Yeah, by Jenny
from the Blocks, right, you know, it just there's a
there does feel like it does seem like second rate
citizens to me, if you asked me when I was there,
When I was there, when I was there, they were
not treated like the Giants were. It was like the
Giants were the divas, the Jets were the thugs. That's
that's what it's.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
It felt like it is funny how in cities with
two teams that there is one or the other like that,
it seems to happen all It's like the Lakers and
the Clippers. You know, I mean Mark is wearing a
white Sox hat. He's our technical producer, Mark knows. I
mean if that's a Cubs down the White Sox are
just kinda they're just kind of there, and the Jets
(13:14):
feel like they're just kind of there. So do you
do you feel like that it's as difficult being in
New York as a Jet as opposed to being a Giant.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Is it as difficult, Like as far as the expectation level,
The expectations are high because they have a very large
fan base and a very loyal, passionate fan base. Now
that doesn't change because it's like you're talking about like
the long Islands, you know that like that Strong Island.
Like there's like there's different parts of New York. And
(13:45):
so if you understand like guys like get real caught
up into the Burrows and all those different things and
how that's set up. You know, you got guys claiming
different parts. You know, you got bk you got Yonkers,
you got Queens, you got you know, Brooklyn, you know
you got then you got like suburban like white planes
and all that stuff. Like you you just and then
(14:07):
there's Jersey on top of that, right, and then you got
North Jerseys, different parts of Jerseys. But then like heading
out towards Coney and all those different places, like it's
just a different place. It's big as hell. So there's
no there's no drop off really in terms of size
of fan base. The New York Jets have a significant
(14:28):
following and then significant fan base, and there's some very
very notable fans of like uh my boy, what what
Gary Gary Vee is a big time Jets fan. There's
a lot of big v Yeah, there's a lot of
famous people that are Jets fans, and and so I'm
pretty certain with all of the things at stake for
(14:54):
Aaron Rodgers and his reputation and his career and his legacy,
all those things being at at plate to bat, so
to speak. I really believe that he's he's going all in,
cards all in, and you know, chips all in the
center of the table, because it's it's like this, this
is the final chapters of my career as a football player,
(15:17):
and how will I finish out and how will I
be remembered? And I think it's super critical and important
to him to have that type of career and to
set the stage for it to play out the way
that you know, a hero would have it play out
if he's actually able to deliver success to this organization.
(15:40):
And I think that's what the setup is. You know,
it's it's it's one thing when you go out and
you win and you didn't say anything. But we always
remember the people that called their shots. Right you look
at the Mighty What Mighty Casey in the movie the
Book where he pointed out over the wall and pointed
to where he was going to hit the ball and
(16:01):
then he did it. You know, you get guys calling
his shot. Muhammad Ali used to call his shots and
do it in poetic, poetic fashion. You know Broadway Joe,
who is still the most beloved, most popular, most recognizable
New York Jet to ever play for the organization. It's
(16:22):
known for him, you know, delivering the guarantee. This is
what sports really, really truly thrives on, are the narratives
and the storylines that that kind of circulate and develop
when you have an amazing player say things like you
(16:43):
know they're going to do X, Y and Z. Now
Aaron Rodgers hasn't said that, but when you're talking about
giving up thirty five million dollars, I think his action
says that he wants to deliver a championship to New York.
And I think people are aware of that. And if
they weren't, think that this gesture and this deed, if
that's what we want to call it, certainly drives home
(17:05):
the point that to Aaron Rodgers right now, it means
more to him to win than it even does to
continue to pad his bank account. Yeah well listen, red
Ass Rogers, Puffy Bottom Rogers, I'm into it. Let's go,
let's let's make this happen. It is two pros and
a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports. Get a
red ass. Huh can I get a red ass. Yeah,
(17:26):
probably I can. Yeah, I think so. It's just curious. Yeah,
I was wondering if that, like, if that's a New
York Jet thing or a New York Giant thing. What
did you mean by that? You know what I meant?
I mean, Mark, when you have two places with two
teams or one place with two teams, I mean, I'm
just wondering, can can you get the same thing? Yeah,
(17:46):
geez like that's true. Yeah, it was complexion driven. I
ain't gonna lie, so I'm Jonas Knocks. You can hang
out with us. There was pigmentation driven. I ain't even
gonna lie to you.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
For the next couple hours here, we are going to
take you all the way up again until nine am
Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. We do have the usuals.
We've got another edition of in case you missed it.
We've also got some would you rather some you in
and you out to finish up shop here. John Paul
Morosi's gonna stop by. We've got the MLB trade deadline
coming up, so all of it is yours here on
Fox Sports Radio. But we do have ourselves a situation
(18:23):
in the NFL that went from bad to even worse
in the matter of hours.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
We'll tell you what that is right here on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
That's that poll music right here. What do you mean
by that pol as acid?
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Is that like a Nascar term? Mean like I mean
it could be won, could be, it could be.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
It's two pros driving so fast I could fly away.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
It's two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Here Fox
Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Gionas Knox with you coming up
in about twenty minutes from now, and another edition of
In case you missed it, We've got ourselves a story
about you know, one player who might have missed a
couple of steps in his off season, might have missed
a couple of those steps in his off season to
(19:29):
get ready for the football season, and he was letting
it was letting known to him. Yeah, we're gonna go
ahead and have to go home and think about this.
So we'll get into that for you again coming out
twenty minutes from now here Fox Sports Radio. So the
Denver Broncos all of a sudden, in what appears to
be a proven year to try and get back and
you know, let everybody get the taste out of their
(19:51):
mouth of whatever last year was. And that disaster that
played out to open up the year on National TV
against the Seattle Seahawks, and then all the other stuff
that went on, the firing of Nathaniel Hackett, Russell Wilson's meltdowns,
his subway commercial that was so bad they pulled it
almost immediately because he was playing so poorly. All of
that stuff that was going on, I mean, had nothing
(20:11):
to do with how corny the commercial was. Well yeah,
that too, but I feel like if you were playing
better football, they probably would have been like, you know,
the danger Witch.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Can you imagine that? What the danger Witch? Lee? Can
you double check to.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
See whether or not the danger Witch is still on
the menu at subway? I'd love to find out whether
or not that is still something on the menu. What
are we looking at?
Speaker 2 (20:41):
No, that was removed almost immediately. You imagine that danger Witch? Like,
what's going on here? I don't know. I used to
be a really big Russell Wilson fan. I don't know
why things have like kind of turnt me, like turned
me off a little bit. I look, I would rather
I don't like having an opinion really towards players, you
(21:03):
know what I mean, Like why not because I just
I bang with players. You know, I'm a former player,
So I don't really have like you know, like one
way or the other. I don't try to create any
type of feelings towards them. I just like respect their games,
do you have.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
That's one of one of the great things about not
being famous and being like, you know, the third rung
on the show, like way down the ladder of importance
on this show in comparison to you and Brady, is
that I could say whatever I want.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Nobody knows who the hell I am, doesn't matter. Well,
I could say what I want. I mean, if you
know my resume and my record, I mean, I do
say what I want to say. Yeah, I just told y'all,
like I just said it. I guess I don't know.
All this other stuff that has been connected to Russell
Wilson has like been like kind of turned into like
a turnoff. Yeah, I'm gonna tell you don't I'm gonna
(21:52):
tell on God, like if you really want to know
the honesty, like, hear me, no cat right, here's me
right now, hear me, hear me with no cap, they're
gonna be trouble, trouble, smoke. No, seriously, it was the
it was the run run past pass s oh as
a defender, it just it it. It was a turnoff,
(22:15):
and it irritated me to no end because I immediately started
thinking to myself, if I ever had a quarterback in
a position where he's almost basically belitting me on the sideline,
how would I handle that? Like that was the mental
(22:36):
gymnastics I was sending myself through when I saw that
report and I heard that that's what he was doing,
like getting up off of the bench telling guy, tell
him run, run, holler out past past passed.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Well, it's like getting your car worked on and looking
over the mechanics shoulder and going no, no, no, no,
no no no.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
It's right there.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Excuse you, hold on a second, buddy, Hey, take a walk.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
In my mind, in my mind, I thought about like
what I would do if I was an active player
and a quarterback or like a receiver did that, And
in my mind I was like, you remember the Dave
Chappelle skit with with Charlie Murphy and Dave as Rick
James when he kicked Rick James in the chest and
(23:19):
he kicked him all the way to the wall and
he hit onto the Chester drawer or whatever. In my mind,
I would have kicked the player in his chest like
you know, arms going back, kicked him boom and kicked
him onto the bench and told him worry about your
side of the ball, you know what I mean, Like,
(23:41):
I can't even imagine the mental the mental gymnastics that
the players that are on the defensive. Hell, if I'm
on the offensive side of the ball, I can't even
imagine the mental gymnastics you start to go through when
your leader air quotes and your starting quarterback is telling
(24:05):
guys on the sideline what to do for the defense. Well,
it's just that's a like, that's an unspoken no.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
No.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
I mean, I gotta blame Richard Sherman for this, because
it was Richard Sherman, who I believe it was a
Monday night game, might have been a Thursday night game,
but I know it was a primetime game. Who was
still so upset over their decision to throw the ball
from the one yard line in that Super.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Bowl as he should. Yes, but anybody else that was
watching the game, he.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Ran down on the sideline like the next year of
the year after, and he was yelling at Darryl Bevill,
the offensive coordinator, I make sure you run it here,
make sure you run so. I wonder if Russell Wilson
saw that was like, oh, we're allowed to do that.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Sweet. That's still very different. That's still that's still a
very different approach than going up to the other guys
on the sideline. Hey guys, hey, hey, run run, run,
run past past past Like hey, bruh, you scored a
couple more touchdowns, you know what I mean? Like we
(25:05):
ain't got to worry about all this. Run run, run
past past pass Like it's just funny. Man. You do
your cot darn job, like you worry about yourself.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
And nobody likes having somebody over their shoulder telling them
what to do while while they put you on.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
The other side of the ball. And you stink, yeah,
like why you got Sean Payton out here risking it
all for you? Like for what he won? Hang out
what she was? What is the real motivation? Behind him said,
dirt people's hands is dirty, and it ain't it ain't
just Russ Like, why is he coming out sticking up
for you?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Russ?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Well, what's the motivation here? What are you getting there?
I'm just saying what he just saying? Man, Like, what
do you? I don't know, but I'm just trying to
work it on out. I'm trying to make it make
sense to me because that was bad last year.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
What are you trying to take a swing out there?
I'm just saying, I'm not swinging. We got anything hammers.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
It's just saying, man, what you're talking all this dirt
on people's hands for it? Do you all walk it back?
While you all walk it back?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Well, there's some bad news and it's it goes even
further out to the yeah too. So that was one
of the kJ Hamler we are wide receiver announced he
was stepping away for a bit.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
He's dealing with a heart issue, a heart irritation.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
They don't believe it's anything too serious, but when it's
the heart involved, you got to make sure that you've
got everything buttoned up when it comes to that, and
so he's looking to take care of that. But then
also Tim Patrick, the wide receiver, tore his achilles in
practice on Monday. He ruptured it. So one day, two
wide receivers gone for the foreseeable future. And it just
(26:54):
it just goes to not only I would say with
just the Broncos, but you've seen it else were in
the NFL. Man, you can't even get to the first
preseason game and people start rolling up with injuries, whether
it's Jalen Ramsey or Joe Burrow or some.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Of these other guys.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
I no, like, have you ever one time gone into
just a season where you guys were one healthy? No,
that is a why that thing to think about? Well, yeah,
that's that's a pipe dream. There's no such thing as
one hundred percent healthy. But that's that's part of understanding
(27:34):
the beauty of a sport like football, is that the
one hundred percent healthy means that you guys know how
to practice, you know how to take care of your bodies,
you know how to be able to perform, and and
that's that's the key. Being able to manage your your
aches and your pains. What does that look like for
(27:59):
the entirety of the team, Because one one injury is
a tremendous setback. But there's a difference between being hurt
and being injured. And that's one of the things, Like
they did it in the program, like, yeah, it's Darnelle
Jefferson like are you hurt?
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Are you injured? You're like, well, what's the difference. If
you're hurt, you know, you can get up, you go.
If you're injured, then we need to you know, we
need to take care of you and make sure you
get the proper treatment and care that you need have it.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Hally Berry in that movie, Yeah, yeah, she broke up
that running back room.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
I mean, she made it competitive. She actually made them better.
Some things are worth fighting for, I mean, and she
was yeah, I'm sure she still is. Huh how miss Barry. Yeah,
So I really think that when you're looking at what's
going on in terms of your question, has that ever
(28:56):
have you ever seen a team go in one hundred
percent healthy? Like, no, there's never a such thing as
one hundred percent healthy. And so now the stakes just
continue to go up for the Denver Broncos, and it
continues to go up, more specifically for Sean Payton, who
made it worse. Sean Payton made it well. Not only
did he make it worse for himself and for Denver,
(29:20):
but he's ultimately made it way worse for us. There's
way more pressure on Russ because he basically came out
and publicly condemned and shamed the coaching staff for efing
it all up. We're going to do everything the opposite
of what they did before. I got here and basically
said it wasn't Russ. And it may have vary. I mean,
(29:42):
I don't know about you, Jonas, but the games I
was watching it was Russ. He didn't play well, it
was Russ. So you could say it was the play calling,
you could say it was the coaching, whatever you want
to say, But to me, it was Russ. So now
the question becomes, what are you going to do to
make sure that Rust doesn't have the same type of
showing that he has that he had last year. I mean,
(30:06):
we look at his body of work. Is his body
of work a is that a product of a dope
ass defense and a dope ass running game with two
Hall of Fame well one Hall of Fame lineman two
two Hall of Fame linemen. Did he have Walter Jones?
I want to say he had Walter Jones. Maybe he
didn't have Walter Jones, maybe the tail end, but he
(30:28):
at least had one. I believe he had Hutchinson. Didn't
he have hutch I'm not sure. I want to say
he had hutch but maybe that's a little outdated too.
The bottom line is he had a hell of a
run game, but he had to have had hutch He
had a hell of a running game, and he had
a hell of a defense. And for what it's worth,
I mean you would you could say he's had a
(30:49):
hell of a coach. And ever since that defense has
has been dismantled and your run game went away. You
notice that maybe he still has decent stat line, but
they're not they're not competitive, they're not a winner.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
So Hutchinson and Walter Jones was done in eight. Hutchinson
was done there in Seattle and five.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Okay, so yeah, he didn't have them then well at
the end, no, not at all.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
No, But he had a good offense, had a good line,
he had a great running game, he had a great
coaching staff.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
I mean he had the o'coon era. Yeah. There there's
the bottom line is they had a hell of a
running game and and and they were able to play
like stone cold defense. That's that's ultimately what it comes
down to. You got a Hall of Famer, you have
two or three possible Hall of Famers on the defensive
(31:43):
side of that ball. You got you got the middle backer.
Come on, why am I blanking out Bobby Wagner. Yeah,
you got, you got Richard Sherman, You had Cam Chancellor,
you had Earl Thomas. Like that was that defen fence
was They were brutal and you had dan Quinn who
(32:04):
was running it. And Quinn was running and we've seen what.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Dan Quinn does to teams when he's the decordinator.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
It was brutal to have to deal with them, man.
So I just I don't know that that Russ is
any different than what we saw. If he doesn't have
all the other pieces working in favor for him, if
they don't have a healthy run game, if they don't
have a defense, And that's probably why he was standing
up saying run, run past pass, like y'all need y'all
(32:32):
really need to shield me from this.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
So well, listen, things are, you know, getting hot, and
they could probably freshen up a little bit there in Denver,
just trying and get their minds refocus, and if you're
gonna do it, you gotta do it with Irish Spring,
the fresh set of Irish Spring and those sensational Irish.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Spray hold on, Jonas, hold on, hold on. That was
way too smooth, man. I need I need more like energy,
like I need like because Irish Spring like wakes you up.
So when you smell, it's like, so I need you
to like hit me with like like more energy. Dog
all that. Yeah, yeah, there you go. There you go.
Speaker 1 (33:08):

Speaker 6 (35:33):
Matt Ruhl, now coaching at Nebraska, had his press conference
on Monday, said that he had to send home six
year senior wide receiver Joshua Fleeks after he came into
camp quote significant significantly over his weight.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
About that six year, I mean he getting old, he's
on he's on the brink of grandfatherhood. I mean he,
I mean, what.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Are they getting after in Nebraska that you show up significantly?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
There's like a dude that that's like going playing his
tenth year of college football this year? Oh yo, oh god?
Is he the tight end for Orgon? Yeah, he's like
a tight end God what's his name? But he hit COVID.
He had two injury years. He got the replacement COVID year.
It's like his tenth year. McCormick. Yeah, yeah, he's and
(36:20):
he's still at Oregon correct, yes, yes, well everybody's got hope.
So this six year senior that decided not to come
in in shape, just go hit a juco up and
you know, try to get your life back together.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
And then did you ever show up? Did you ever
show up my rookie year to a training camp and
my rookie year and you knew when you got there?
We like this, No, I knew before I got there.
I wasn't in the best of shape and I was
disappointed in myself. Dion was looking at me like what's
wrong with you?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Dog? Like are you serious? And he started like working
out with me after like post practice. We would work
out until I got in shape. That's why I bang
with Dion d On. A lot of people don't realize
Dion is one of the most proactive leaders, Like he
gets it out of you. And I never went back
to not being in shape. I saw the look in
(37:11):
his eyes, like the players like Bruce and them, Bruce
Smith was like just stayed the hell out of my
way type stuff. I had to endure a lot. Brian Mitchell,
before he got released, said, I looked like I was pregnant,
Like how many how many months in? Are you? I
(37:32):
was crushing. The problem I had was I was crushing
Popeyes chicken and look and red sodas I was drinking.
I was drinking red sodas and pop and I was
eating Popeyes chicken. That was my only That was my kryptonite.
Was it big red whatever the reds? I think it
(37:54):
was like strawberry something from from there, from Popeyes Fanta?
Speaker 1 (38:01):
You know, you know, I still haven't had Popeyes. It's
kind of weird. I don't know what to tell you
on I really have never had it ever once. I
don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
I don't know. It's a little strange. No think about it,
you go. Popeye is over KFC, right, hell yeah, I
don't know. Their beans and rice is fired like everything.
Popeyes is like more authentic than KFC. Yeah, not a
sponsor and get away from the chicken real quick. A
crazy story here, uh.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
Former Auburn offensive lineman Robert Scheiver his wife was arrested
in the Bahamas along with two other men and a
plot to kill her a strange husband, all discovered by
investigators through the What's App messages.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
That Yeah, people think people think love is dead in advance,
