that mean? He said, clearance my ass. Now we don't
need to.

Speaker 7 (02:18):

Of the Yeah speak.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Okay, I was going to say this.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
I would love to not have Jonas go first and
send me awful just sandwich in the middle.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
We're like a four by one hundred anchor.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
All right, I feel pretty good about in the middle.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Let LeVar be the anchor, anchor, the crappiest one in
the middle. I could try to start it off to
get us an opportunity.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
I'll bring it out Jonas somewhere in the middle.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I'll bring it home. You you said it straight to Vito,

Speaker 6 (03:07):
But trust me, I am I'm not really concerned at
all about your judgment of my songs.

Speaker 8 (03:34):
All right. The college football playoff a set.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
Oh, no, here we go, there we go. Hey, you
know what, get him in?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Yeah, look me and Q have been on the same
page the entire show, and I know this is where
we're going to go.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Right here, we go.

Speaker 7 (03:49):
Get him in why you can because this is the
last year we're really going to be able to have
a serious, serious debate about a team that can legitimately
make the case that they should be one of the
four best not getting in and at Florida State.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Can I give you.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
Just some firsts, right, because like maybe it's not very
well known. So here's the tough part for the committee.
They were going to have to do things that were unprecedented,
and they did things that were unprecedented in the ten
year span we've had.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
The college Football Playoff.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
They had to choose between either not having an SEC
champ as a part of the college Football Playoff They've
they've always had one, or not having an undefeated conference champs.
They've always had an undefeated Power five conference champ. All right,
They were going to have to move a couple of
teams in the final rankings up further than they've ever

(04:46):
moved them, and in this case Alabama to four, in
Texas to three, that's further than they ever moved them
in one single spot. And in fact, they've never dropped
a team that was number one outside the top four
when they had the penultimate rankings to the final ranking.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
So there was a lot.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Of things that occurred where I feel like there's a
ton of pressure on the College Football Playoff Committee to
make this work.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
So in the end, it wasn't an easy decision.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
And we can debate about it all we want, but
I'll generally just start off by saying this, all right,
if you tell every single team of every Power five conference.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Look, boys, here's the goal.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
We go undefeated, We're going to be in at to
play for a national championship?

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Is that currently true? Knowledge football? Clearly? And why is that?

Speaker 6 (05:38):
Well, obviously it's an easier answer than maybe where you're
about to go, how many how many Power five conferences
were they're coming into this, this college.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
Fall playoff coming in?

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah? Four? No, five, it's power but only four? No.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
And that's the point is, even if you had undefeated
Power five champions from all five conferences, correct, someone gets
left out.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Now, that's true.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
And so the reason why I bring that up is
because this has never been fair. I've said this since
day one when they created a four team playoff, and
you have five Power five conferences. Is there was an
illusion this whole thing concocted by ESPN and this college
full playoff could be it was all for TV folks,

(06:26):
like any of you who are gonna take this ridiculous
stance of how upset you are. And I work with
Danny Canal. He's a huge Florida State obviously a lum
and supporter, and he was all emotional about it, like,
I get it. I feel awful for those players. I
feel off, I said yesterday when I was working, I said, look,
the worst part about this is at some point Jordan

(06:47):
Travis is probably gonna is gonna feel awful like his
injury impacted this, which it did, but like it's out
of his control. And yet like he puts out a
tweet where you're doing no man, like you shouldn't feel
that way. So it's awful for Mike Norvel, it's awful
for Florida State. But there's there's also this like illusion

(07:09):
that it was ever going to be fair and equitable.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
In the first place to teams. It never has been.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
I mean, hell, the very first year because the Big
Twelve Conference couldn't figure out who their one true champion
was because they had co champions between DCU and Baylor.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Guess what happened.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Neither got in and instead Ohio State, who had a
backup quarterback named Cardale Jones who wiped the floor with
Wisconsin fifty.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Nine to nothing, ended up getting put in. And what
happened that year they went on to win a national championship.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
To me, the biggest difference was you did not see
that from Florida State since Jordan Travis's injury. This, I know,
we want to look at their body of work, but
if we're being honest, you can't because they're just not
the same team. And the College Football Playoff Committee has
put that. It's on their website. If you don't believe me, go.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Look it up there.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
It's best four teams and it says if key players
are unavailable, and there's no one more key than a quarterback,
and if he was playing, they probably would be in.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
But the way they've.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Looked, who's out him, If he's in, who's out?

Speaker 4 (08:27):
If he's in, who's out Texas? It probably would have
been Bama.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
Actually you think so? Yeah, oh yeah, because they eat
him had to.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Head because Texas it would have been Florida State at
three and Texas at at four, which, by the way,
as soon as they revealed Texas at three, it was done.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Yeah, they didn't need they didn't need to go through
the you know.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
The antics of five and four, because once they put
Texas there, I was like.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Oh, you knew Alabama had to be in.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
They had to be behind you.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
And if you were going to put Florida State in,
you would have put them at three, and you would
have put then a one lost Guy Roberts champion, Texas
at four, and BAM at five, so that it was
already a wrap. But I will say this the comments
from bou Corgan, who when he gave you the tea
leave of what ultimately decided it. He said, we do
factor in what a coach thinks as far as who

(09:18):
would't want to play, who I wouldn't want to play,
And I would say this if you saw the Michigan
clip that went viral, they were not excited about having
to play Alabama in the semi final round, and that
tells you everything you needed to know.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
They tried to make this a made for TV show.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
They tried to put together the best four teams they
thought could playoff based on their criterion. However, they want
to justify it to playoff for a national championship.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
It's not fair.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
I understand that the sadness and everything from Florida State,
but if we're being honest with ourselves, it'll be more
competitive games now with these four teams.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
I don't buy it.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I know you took the eleven of the twelve to
explain it, but in one minute, I'll say I don't
buy it. If a team is going to have the
ability to recruit and the opportunity to bring in elite
players to their program, you should be able to bring
them in under the premise that if you do everything

(10:15):
we tell you to do, and you do it how
you're supposed to, they will, and you do it the
right way and you go undefeated, you should have the opportunity,
whether you had a significant injury take place or not.
All those guys put in that hard work, All those
guys put in that sacrifice, and they did what they
were supposed to do. They took down everybody that was

(10:36):
lined up in front of them. And that's not the
case for two of the teams that are in the playoff.
Whether we want to call them two to have one
loss two of the teams that are in the playoff.
Hold on, I'm I'm just giving my reasoning. You you
had your time. I just want to take two minutes.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
To say the Master.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Texas well, because they have a loss.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
They have a loss, and I'm looking at the fact
that you have it.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
So we're gonna put it. It's all in haul Hall.
You're gonna put in Florida State. I get that. Yes,
who put it outside of Florida State? Liberty?

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Well, no, no, no, I'm not. Liberty is what what
conference is Liberty in?

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Exactly? Yeah, I don't, I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'm not worried about I'm not worried about Liberty getting
and that that doesn't bother me one bit that they're
not on the level of.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
If then who is your fourth team?

Speaker 1 (11:21):
So if Florida State, Florida State would need to go
in and and whoever lost that the fact that you
had two teams that played head to head and one
loss to the other one than the other one should
be out.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
I think there's more of a symptom.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Of we heard we heard Saban say last year, tell
me one team that's in the playoff that we're not
better than and he made a real big stink about it.
I think stuff like that exists. They they won in
the championship round. God bless you won the SEC. But
if you're asking me, is it is Alabama better than Georgia?

(11:56):
They were better than them in that game? Are they
better than them overall? I'm I don't think too many
people gave Alabama a shot. I beaten Georgia.

Speaker 6 (12:03):
To your point, Georgia will probably be favored versus everyone
who's in the playoffs exactly.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah, So how are we saying we got the four
best teams in there? Because Georgia is probably better than
ben Texas.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I think that's where you're missing. What I'm saying is, no,
I got you.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I totally understand what you're saying. I'm just saying for
me from the humanistic side of it, that's wild as
hell to be at Florida State, Florida State. That's like saying, Q,
you're at Notre Dame and y'all went undefeated, and because
of X, Y, and Z factors, you don't get to

(12:40):
play for a national title because you're not considered here
to be the best team.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Yeah, And here's what I'd say, to that is we
don't play a conference championship game. So Notre Dame understands
that there's no guarantee in this format that they would
get a shot, even as undefeated as playing for a championship,
because they don't have that thirteenth game indicator. It's in
the christ it's not there. And in the years that
they've had one loss, you always feel like it's huge

(13:05):
behind the eight ball because you don't have that undefeated
season that gives you that shot.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
So I understand the point you're making. What what I'm
trying to.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Hammer home to people is this has never been about
absolutely getting the best force.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yes, that's correct, and I've.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Always been about justifying with a made for TV event,
how they get these four teams.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
So again, maybe I should should have worded it differently.
I buy what you're saying based off of the premise
of what the information is that's given. I just don't
subscribe to the fact that you bring a four team
a four team playoff. And I always thought it was
like when we first did the Championship series where you

(13:49):
took the top two top two teams and they played
for the national titles, Like what if? What if more
than two teams go undefeed. It Like when I was
in school, we used to have those conversations like I
wonder how that will work if more than two teams
go undefeated, like in Alabama goes undefeated, if we were
able to go undefeated, if if a you know, a

(14:10):
Florida State goes undefeated because they were like the top
team won the top teams, if a Big East team
went undefeated, like we ended up having Virginia Tech played
Florida State in the national title my last year in school.
We had those debates back then, but now it just
seemed more egregious to me. It seemed more egregious than listen,
it's the last year that this is going to happen
because they're expanding the field.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
So the debate is Nolan void anyway.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
But no, we'll still.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Debate about who what's twelve teams get in and which
ones don't.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I just I just think this year for Florida State,
that sucks really bad. That sucks really bad.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
I looked at it like this, if Florida State wanted
to get in, there was a process and they had.

Speaker 6 (14:49):
To beat the crap out of Louisville. Yea and they
looked awful. And once they looked.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
Awful, once Alabama beat Georgia, it was over because you
can't an SEC champ was getting in. Greg Sankie was
a blowhard on game day talking about, well, it's not
the real world thinking an SEC team wasn't going to
get into the college football Playoff. They were always going
to get in. And once Alabama beat Georgia, you couldn't
put Alabama in and leave Texas out because they beat
him head to head and that was it.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
If I'm an ACC team, better start looking at the
Big Ten and the SEC. If you're anybody else, you
better start looking around.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Well, let me put it this way for you.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
If you look into the future, which teams currently are
represented by?

Speaker 4 (15:29):
What conference? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Big the SEC? In the Big Ten, that's right.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
Yeah, Like you literally have current conference Washington is going
and future conference members from each absolutely.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Look, I'm not saying that that necessarily played a role
in all.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
That, but that's what it needs to be. Like, let's
just stop playing around with it. Like, if you're not
in one of those, if you're not in the SEC
or the Big Ten, forget about it. We get to
create your own playoff.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Maybe they do maybe this, you know, maybe this, like
frustration actually leads to whatever it leads to.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Yeah, playoff realignment Delaware.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Delaware just got their asses handed to them by Montana
in a playoff game at the major Division one level.
He didn't play much. Shouts out to the decordinator. He
could have did a little better than what they were doing.
But they got their adds as drug and a playoff game.
That's that's all I'm saying. There's playoffs in the college

(16:25):
rankings and the ranks well, and here's the thing different.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Look at comparative analysis of well, the ACC this year,
that conference or the SEC versus other conferences, Like, we
can do all that, Like I get it. The ACC
was what six and four I think, versus of their
power of five conference versus the SEC in particular, and
you know the SEC or yeah, the SEC was like seven.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
And nine this year and they're nonc It's like, I
get it.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
We can do all of that, Like we can and
and we can continue to moan and complain and say
it's unfair. But at the end of the day, Florida
State still had an opportunity. Their defense played great, their
offense didn't, and By the way, I don't even know
that their defense played over Louisville honestly played. It looked
so bad in that game offensively, like they're there. In particular,

(17:13):
Jack Plumber did not play well. I feel bad Santas,
he's a college quarterback. But there were so many plays
that were there to be made that weren't that while
I'm watching it with our crew and I looked at
everyone and said, this is gonna hurt the perception of
the acc like Louisville and their offensive play, and you
could say, all it's shared verus and the pressure of it.

(17:35):
There was still there was a fourth and one easy
dump off to the tight end. Just get it over
the defend the Mission State defender or excuse me with
Florida State defender, and it would have been a first down,
big game and barely clears the dudes like arm gets
knocked down, right, there's a few the interception after the
block punt just like inexcusable, Like just kick the field
going first down. The way that game was going, I

(17:56):
mean there was time and time again there's opportunities where
Louisville probably could have done more if they actually just
could execute a little bit and it wasn't like guys
weren't open and stumbling over their feet or I mean,
it was unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
It was an ugly, ugly game.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
It hurts. It hurt the perception. It hurt the perception
of I think Florida State and the ACC as a whole.

Speaker 7 (18:22):
I would have been curious to see had Georgia beat
Bama and it came down to basically Texas and Florida State.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Had Florida State to.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Brady, Florida State would have got in.

Speaker 7 (18:32):
You think they're straight up being what they were. I
still think think so, because they would have had to
have looked impressive.

Speaker 8 (18:38):
And they would have had to have looked dominant.

Speaker 7 (18:40):
And that game was a rough watch man like the
look the Big Ten Championship game wasn't that either.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
Well, that was another thing everyone wants to compare. Look
at Michigan's offense first Island'm like, well, first off, it's
a better defense. Like if you really want to compare.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Louisville Gangsters, Yeah, they'd be trying to hold up for that,
that whack ass offense they'd be having. They'd be old
enough for Collie. They gave people the blueprint. If I'm Alabama.
That first half. They gave them the blueprint as how
you beat Michigan.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Sonny, right now, it's Alabama's odds to win plus two ten.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
I think, ah, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
It's gonna be Alabama in sexist and a rematch for
the national Championship.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
They might smoke Michigan because if they you got better
players on Alabama than you do on on Iowa, and
they just they show it. And I was saying it
when I was watching them play all year, why like
why are people not playing it the way that Iowa
was playing it when I was watching that game, Like
all you gotta do is set the point against Michigan,

(19:44):
Like why are people allowing themselves to get out flanked
and losing the running backs on the inside and then
they pop out on the outside like your backers has
got a slide? And let me tell you something. Iowa
played that that mess to a t.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
It did to a t.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
It was so beautiful, the way that they were filling
in their gaps and being where they were supposed to.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Be, but just not enough offense.

Speaker 6 (20:09):
Man, You think about the two touchdowns that were scored
against them, One was off a punt return. The other
one was off a arguable you could make the case
it should have been in complete pass. And then even
the way they stopped the play and on the sack,
I guess you'd say fumble or the forced fumble.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
And Michigan recovering. I mean that's how they got fourteen
to this point.

Speaker 8 (20:28):
By the way, that Househoill play by number.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Four number four five was incredible.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Jesus man.

Speaker 7 (20:34):
It literally was the first guy down and the guy
to make the tackle too on a long punt return
and saved a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Show your kids that one man.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
By the way, let me say this, if we clip
this this stuff off this conversation and we don't put
the whole thing in for Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
I'm throwing this stuff because I know Lee and all
the people behind the scenes are going to.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Try to clip off the most controversial part instead of
incorporating the whole thing. I can corporate the whole conversation.
The leader whoever clips this crap off, I got it.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Brady, it is good.

Speaker 7 (21:08):

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Making sure. I don't want to act like I'm being
arrogant about it, and I got it incorrect. You know,
we don't need any of that modern crap. Just the classics.
That went away quick too, boy, and that was in
and out. Really, we ain't even make it to dressed
up like Eskimos. No, what's with that hard hit the

(23:01):
Mark hit the.

Speaker 7 (23:03):
Because I don't think you're allowed to say that, oh,
dressed up like when they changed Edmonton's CFL.

Speaker 5 (23:09):
Team, they change the team saying for Christmas anymore.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Huh.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
You gotta be careful, man, Geez, I didn't know that
to look up Edmonton's CFL team.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
No, you're right now, I'm thinking about it. You're right.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
The on of the day.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
Let's go live to our I have an update on
Edmonton CFL team inside our Eddie Garcia for the latest Eddie.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
Now the Edmondson Elks.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Oh that's a badass mascot.

Speaker 6 (23:36):
Though you've seen the elk up close, I have pretty
big They're big, dude, pretty big.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
They're big. Man.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
You see an elk, you see a moose something like
that up front?

Speaker 4 (23:46):
You up close, You're like, oh damn.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
Yeah, moose.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Moose were like, uh one of the main wild animals
that were taking out civilians right like it was hippos
and and moose.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
I believe, yeah, yeah, they'll they'll, they'll and I mean
they are.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
I've seen a moose one time where and this is
if it puts it in proper context. I was standing
there and I think they weigh by the way I
came up to the moose's belly. He's under belly.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
Oh they're huge, isn't bow Winkle is not the cartoon Yeah,
bow Winkles.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Here's what we need to stop doing.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
We need to stop making these cartoon animals for kids
to think like these animals are nice, Like I think
I think it creates a problem.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
They're like, oh, it's a moose. It looks friendly. It's like, no,
you're gonna get mulled by that.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Oh okay, big time, yeah, big time, Like he knocked
down trees and stuff when they fight.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
Have a four year old hanging off his antlers.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
You know.

Speaker 9 (24:45):
But by the way, the the beloved Eskimo pie, uh
changed to the Eddie Pie.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
That how does that translate? What's the translation to Eddie?

Speaker 9 (24:56):
The guy who created it, his last name's Eddie.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Okay, what is an Eddie pie? What's an Eskimo pie? Yeah,
it's like like budget and vanilla put together.

Speaker 9 (25:08):
It's vanilla covered with chocolate.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
It's right now.

Speaker 8 (25:13):
Oh e ed y.

Speaker 7 (25:14):
So it's not a double D on the I'll take
a double D well you know what I mean, just
I'll do wrong show.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Sorry, No, it's the right show.

Speaker 9 (25:28):
We are.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
We are holding up our art of the bargain here
this morning. It is two pros and a cup of
Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up,
we are going to have an FSR i R in
about well less than twenty minutes from now, hopefully because
that would be the end of the hour if not,
but less than twenty minutes from now, we are going
to have an FSR I R here on the show
we report and the injuries, issues, ailments, all that fun stuff.

(25:50):
So Tyreek Hill is on pace to get to just
under twenty one hundred yards receiving. He's having an unbelievable season.
Maybe a lot of people thought it was a one
off week one against the LA.

Speaker 8 (26:03):
Chargers and J. C. Jack, but that is not the case.
He is still nuts.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
Yeah, yeah, they'd be after it.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Bro By the way, they were just like rolled past
a relatively big what would be someone's Christmas tree, and.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
It was like they dwarfed it. Yeah, that's a big
moosar man that.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Like knock a car over. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
How much do they weigh? I don't know, thousand they're
up there, per certain Yeah they're big.

Speaker 8 (26:34):
Well, who weighs about fifteen hundred pounds there?

Speaker 7 (26:37):
Jesus God, full grown elk about seven was about half
that size.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Yeah. That'll still mess you up though, man.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Yeah, I mean like like you head on with a car.
Oh yeah, like that car is not now get up
and walk away. Yeah yeah yeah, they'll get up and
walk away like Rock when he got hit over the middle.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Just get right up.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
You don't want to deal with that, man. Don't be
playing around and they can run fast. Yeah they are
all right, go back to your well.

Speaker 7 (27:06):
No, I was just gonna say, how do we feel
about the potential of Tyreek Kill is the MVP.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
You know, Chris Sims jumped out there and said that's
his MVP last last night.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
I have two and neither are quarterbacks right now? Oh
is that fair?

Speaker 8 (27:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Sure, Tyree killing Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
I'm game, Like, I think we'd.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Be all cool with that, right, Like both of those
guys are ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Yeah, well, I mean what quarterback would you say has
really I mean Dak Prescott probably has da rested himself.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
There, Yeah, I mean Party, if he's healthy and put
some numbers, the rest of the way would be up there.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Those are the two.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
CJ. Stroud's. CJ Stroud's got to be up there.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
So the two favorites on DraftKings Rock Party and Dak
Prescott are at three to one, followed by Jalen Hurts
at plus three point fifty twos at seven to one,
Lamar Jackson at nine to one with Patrick Mahomes, and
then you've got Tyreek Hill and Christian McCaffrey are sitting
at sixteen to one. Like, my case for Tyreek Kill
would be this, if he does something we've never seen

(28:08):
before in a year like this year, where you can
find if you really wanted to nitpick flaws with these
quarterbacks in the NFL, why couldn't it happen? Like I mean,
if he gets over two thousand yards, I don't see
why he wouldn't get legitimate, serious consideration for the MVP award.

(28:30):
And I know it's considered well it's a quarterback ward,
but man, I don't know. I think this is the
year where you can look at it and go you
could find a way out of the conversation or argument
for all these quarterbacks. I think that this feels like
the year if there was going to be any year
that we would see a non quarterback win that award.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
This is good a year as any, I'll say. I'll
tell you that because no one has really ran away
with it. There's not a quarterback that's doing things that
just you're saying, there's no there's no debating it. Like
when we watched Aaron Rodgers go on that that two
year run. You knew Aaron Rodgers was the MVP of
this league, and it could have gone to if you

(29:11):
were really going to go for a close second or
one A, it would have been Tom Brady. You don't
you don't have a head to head quarterback situation that
has played out this year where you're saying, Yep, that
dude is a dominant dude.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
He is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
I mean, for a moment there it seemed like it
could have been Hurts, but kind of it cooled off
a little bit. Patrick Mahomes, It's kind of it's weird
like you you want it to be, but it just
kind of hasn't been in terms of dominance. It hasn't
been a dominant year for him and and Dak Prescott,

(29:49):
I would say, just got hot, what like the last
three games or so.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Here here's the problem is, I think if you're looking
at quarterbacks, you can't make as big of a statistical
arguments more about what their team's accomplish. Two has got
to be in the conversation next to CJ. Stroud, Like
those two to me should be the top two quarterbacks
talked about. And then we talk about Tyreek Hill and
Christian McCaffrey, like those are your four in my opinion,

(30:16):
Like Stroud's leading the league in yards at this point
in the season as a rookie, and by the way,
like no Tank Dells he got you know, knocked out yesterday,
Nico Collins goes in for almost two bills, Like he's
been as impressive as we've ever seen first year as
a rookie, and he's up there for touchdown passes and
any of the other metric you want to talk about.

(30:38):
You know, Dax obviously also in that conversation. But I
just like, I don't think two. I don't think C J.
Stroud get enough love for what they've been doing. I
mean two was throwing for more yards. He doesn't have
quite as many touchdowns and obviously some more picks, and
I know he's throwing at Tyreek Hill, so people kind
of take that away, but it's it's.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Not like CD Lamb's not special.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
I just I think it's a really interesting juncture the
sea to look at, like who's who's in the conversation,
because you essentially have five guys that, based on how
they played so far, that should be And I don't
think any of those five are.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Like college football guys. They're like a college football team,
They're like a Florida State. They're left out.

Speaker 8 (31:17):
Tyreek Hills averaging one hundred and twenty three yards a
game to.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
His body of work doesn't call to his body of
work doesn't call for him to get it, probably because
of the market that he's.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
In for one and for two patrol Miami.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Yeah, I don't think the market is favorable for him
to get it over a market like say Dallas, unless
he's like, really really amazing with what he's doing.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
I don't. I don't.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
I almost feel like twoa's kind of obscure and and
the type of year that he's having. No, I think
he would have to have a year like what he's
having this year. Be in the conversation for MVP before
he gets that opportunity, saying with Strout, Now, that's a great,
great market that he's in in Houston, but he's a rookie,

(32:07):
and I think.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
It would be very difficult to award that to a rookie.

Speaker 7 (32:12):
Yeah, but you know they use it as a bailout.
You know what's gonna end up happening. The MVP is
going to go to somebody else. Stroud's going to get
Rookie of the Year, Tyreek's going to get Offensive Player
of the Year. Like it just feels like they kind
of mix and match these deal Well, here's your consolation prize,
Like that's how the NFL.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
I think the thing that.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
Works against too more so than market size and all
that is probably if he store the Tyreek kill and
Tyreek kills right, it's going to have like a ridiculous
you know year, Hill's got five hundred and thirty three
yards after the catch like that leads the league.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
So every time you watch like a to a throw,
he don't see as much as the throw. You see
like the run after the catch for the touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
So his yard after catch is over a thousand for
the season. It's over.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
He's almost going to be.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
But you know what I'm saying, Like when you watch
the highlight sick Pools, you don't even see he's throwing it.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
You just see the catch, you see the run afterwards.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
You're like out there, yeah, like speedy. And then we
can't say.

Speaker 6 (33:13):
Like if you see Dak, you see like a bomb
and you say, oh this Dak drops back throws oh
ceedee lamb like Tyreek Hill. It's like the balls like
in the air, catches it and then he's like runner
all around the field and they're like, yep, that was
from two obviously.

Speaker 5 (33:26):
Oh man, she's fun to watch.

Speaker 7 (33:27):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio and coming up next to a
Monday tradition, the f SR I R and it's yours
here on Fox Sports Radio. Two pros and a cup
of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with the here coming off top of next hour
a little over ten minutes from now from the tirerac

(33:48):
dot com studios, We're going to take a big picture
look at the entire NFL because there could be some
surprises that are coming up here very very shortly, and
that will be yours again a little over ten minutes
from now. Before we get to an f s R
I R though, I want to let you know we
are brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling

Speaker 2 (34:16):
After your sports weekend happens, so it's time to get
the FSR IR report.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
All right, fire away, who's got it? You guys are
traveling a travel nightmare story. I know mark Ingram probably
has a h an f SRI r this morning after
that Saint Elmo's shrimp cocktail.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Yeah, that was one of the funniest things I have
ever seen. He was really hard with me. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
So we went to Saint Elmo's Friday night, the night
before the Big Ten Championship game, and I guess there's
so many people there because it's your your last dinner
as a crew, both for the game crew that doesn't
that our pregame show crew, and so everyone's together. You're
kind of laughing, you have your drinks and kind of
just showing your gratitude and appreciation for everything.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
You just assume that most people.

Speaker 6 (35:12):
Try the cocktail sauce because it's all sitting on the
table and everything else. So we obviously wanted to pay
or or you know, give a big thanks to San
Elmos for hosting us. And it's you know, it's when
you go to Indianapolis, like if you can have shrimp
and you're into shrimp cocktail, like you have to go.
You have to try it. That's like their thing. So

(35:33):
we get on the set and obviously Matc wanted to
do it because he likes it. He's you know, he's
done it, and Mark has typically like tried or tasted
some of the food almost every week this year, so
I just had assumed he had tried it the night
before so he understood what he was getting himself in.

Speaker 9 (35:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Man, they loaded it with horse radish, so.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
It like he takes it and it hits him, and
I'm watching him thinking, oh man, he might like choke
like this might be like is that what happened to
missus dollfire?

Speaker 4 (36:03):
When the guy chokes.

Speaker 7 (36:07):
On it?

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Yeah, the high bug.

Speaker 6 (36:08):
I was sitting there thinking, like, dude, I have to
do the high bug at some point on him. But uh,
he was able to get it down, but man, he
was hurting. We went to break he was. He was
getting some water. I thought maybe like milk would have
been a better choice.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
But yeah, man, fresh horse radish will knock you down. Bro,
clear you up real good.

Speaker 7 (36:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
I enjoy that too myself with oysters. That's that's that's
my deal.

Speaker 8 (36:35):
Horse radish.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
Yeah, and cocktail sauce.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Oh yeah, that that's that's kind of popular, right, that's
something that's I.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Mean, I was showing it. I can't say I like
I came up with it. It's super good, I'll tell
you that makes it. Yeah, super good.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
I'll give you mine. Yeah, that's on mine.

Speaker 7 (36:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:54):
It wasn't me though, But you know, I was hanging
out at Tao with a couple of friends. Shouts out
on that now big big Melvin at uh one part
of the Dream crew, and I was in Vegas, Vegas, Vegas.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
So I went out to eat with with my old
teammates Jesse Armstead and and the head coach of your
Las Vegas Raiders and Antonio Pierce. We were hanging out
and we moved up to the lounge area to talk
and and have some cosamigos and lo and behold, I
look at a p and and an amazing fan. I'm

(37:34):
I'm certain of the Raiders team got a little bit
too excited and and a whole bunch of everything came
up out of them hit hit the area where we
were sitting, and he just went ahead and went face
first into it and just was laying it. Oh God, Yeah,

(37:55):
took took a took a vomit nap right there and
tiwe how cold uh it was? It was hard to
tell by the way the lighting was, but it was.
It was an interesting spectacle, I'd say the least. I
hope you're Okay, if you're out there, I hope that

(38:18):
it worked out well for you. They did scoop and
score though. Like they scooped him up. They put whatever
that that chemical powder was, it heartened it up. They
swept it up, they wiped it up, and it was
just kept on moving like he was never even there,
you know, but he definitely hit the I R that night.

(38:40):
Anytime you it's one thing when you have to like
get rid of your poison, right, It's another thing when
you're so poisoned that you just go ahead and fall in.
It just fell face first into I don't think I've
ever I don't think I've ever not leave you ever
done that? No stone cold man, that is nasty, stone cold?

Speaker 5 (39:04):
What what aw.

Speaker 9 (39:08):
I mean?

Speaker 5 (39:09):
They needed a towel
