we didn't go anywhere, did We did the hurt on
Monday and we were just hanging out and talking shop
and we might have gotten in a little bit of trouble,
but we'll discuss all of that. We're also going to
try and get to the bottom as to who took
Sanford and Son out of the open and put it

(00:21):
someplace else. Plus we're going to talk about JJ Reddick
cursing at his introductory press conference. Oh, and we cannot
forget the Stanley Cup Final is over and begrudgingly we
celebrate Brady Quinn's Florida Panthers and the journey they went on.
Plus we got the very latest on the Brandon Ayuk situation.
And apparently board shorts is a thing, especially at this

(00:42):
time of the morning in radio. We'll get into that
for you all. Coming up next here, Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe on a Tuesday, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:53):

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Jonas.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
No, definitely not. This song sucks, Mac.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
I'm what is that?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
It's? Hey, Coop, this ain't me, man.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Yeah, look, what a horrible switch up.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I didn't expect it.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I don't know what this is. I mean, we are back. Hey,
I swear to god, Coop, would you grab the mic please?
You think I'm lying about it? I swear to god,
I have nothing to do with this song. You have
the biggest smile on your face. I think you're so
because no, because I was not expecting the switch up.

(01:58):
I thought we were going to get the same and
son and instead this is what we got. And if
I was going to pick something, I would have picked
something different than this. So I don't know who was
behind it, but oh my.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Gosh, just disgusting, horrible switch up.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Sorry, Lamar Well, you don't have to.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Say sorry to me.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
You have to say sorry to Coop and all the
other fans out there. But you gave my voice a
rest this morning, So thank you. Wow, thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
That's unfortunate. Well, listen, it is two pros and a
cup of Joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. Yes, we are back
and we are all live from the tire rack dot

the way tire buying should be. Yep, you go ahead,

(02:47):
Brady Quinn, There you go. Panthers won the Stanley Cup
game Cat Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Get.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
That was an awesome game. Come on, had anyone who
watched that it was? It was a great game. You
kind of felt like edmontonn at some point was going
to get a goal in the in the third period
until I thought the last two to three minutes and
you heard Sean McDonough say it, they looked gassed. There
was just times when they so many of their stars,

(03:15):
in particular Con McDavid, they just stayed out on the ice,
you know, almost play the entire game.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
And it's everything you love about sport.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
It's everything you love about you know, a game seven
like that where guys are putting it all out there,
They're leaving everything out there for the sake of competition,
trying to win a championship and It's unfortunate for Conor McDavid,
who's the best hockey player in the world, and yet
he the Stanley Cup still eludes him. But for the
Florida Panthers and an organization that if you look at

(03:48):
what Vincent.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Viola has done their new owner.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
And I can speak to this firsthand because he should
be a beacon of life for every poor franchise out
there that's.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
That's been awful. This is what good ownership can do.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
It can literally transform a team that was an afterthought
that when you'd go to games there was a lot
of fans dressed up like seats. That's when they shoot
out the T shirt cannon, there was a greater likelihood
it would have hit an empty seat.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
As opposed to a fan.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
And he's completely transformed that South Florida market back to
kind of some of their earlier days. I think if
you go back in the nineties, there's folks when they
used to play down in Miami who would have said, like, hey,
this was a fun franchise, one that you know, had
had some had some runs of success, but nothing like
these in the last few years.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
And so credit to him, credit to.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Barry Zito, Matt Caldwell, all the all the people who
are involved. Because they've built up this roster, they've built
up this team, They've built in a fan base where
I mean, you felt that place was absolutely electrical last night.
It really was. And they've got a tremendous team. So
happy for man. I mean, I've watched I'm telling you,
I've watched that team go from the depths of the

(05:05):
NHL now obviously to the pinnacle, and it's been incredible
to watch them to really transform into it.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
M hmm. Were you waiting on me?

Speaker 1 (05:15):
You know you were waiting on I mean, I'm just
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
If I feel like this was one of those those
topics where Q covered it so well. I mean, what
else am I going to? What else am I going
to bring to? We did have a side that last
night lavars As Jonas and I were watching. We had
a side belt We're like, is LeVar watching? Is he
actually gonna watch this?

Speaker 4 (05:35):
I did watch. Uh, you know, I'll say this.

Speaker 6 (05:37):
I moved my daughter into into her college dorm yesterday.
It was very uh it was a very very busy day.
But I did watch. But what exactly am I supposed
to bring to the conversation. I think you've covered it all.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
So when the game starts in Florida scores pretty early,
I'm like, oh, here we go. Is it's gonna turn it?
And then Edmonton responds right back. I'm like, all right,
this is a game seven. Yes, serious, this is what
we needed. This is the game seven. Now is their
outrage for the fact that Connor McDavid did win the
con smythe and he was on the losing team, which,

(06:16):
as Eddie pointed out, only the second non goalie to
have that happen in the history of the NHL, and
it's been a long time since that's happened.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
So was it, Groove I would I would be curious
to ask Eddie because I personally didn't have a problem
with it. The only thing I'd say was, but Conor
McDavid has that impact because he's just the best player
and everyone knows. We talked about it, my brother in
law was here, we were talking about it last night.
But he didn't have the impact, at least in the

(06:44):
box score, that you would have hoped for from it.
I mean, Forded it such an amazing job defensively against
him to not even allow him even get a shot
on goal, and there's somebody to be said for that.
So even though I think you'd say, oh, what about Barbrovski, Well,
there was some times where he really struggled in this series.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
So I can see.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Why Connor McDavid gets it, because even schematically, it changed
everything Florida could do.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I mean, Barkov, who's a really.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Good defensive or good defenseman offensively speaking, though, like he
could go and score. I mean he kind of just
focused defensive and trying to eliminate Connor mcdaviden there on
the ice together. But he's a guy that typically can
can play more of a role offensively, which is something
you see now from today's defenseman in hockey. You know,
back in the old days, you would just be, you know,

(07:31):
you try and take guys out and play defense and
make sure you know guys ahead.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Of you go score. That's not the case anymore.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
But with Barkov, I think he literally kind of changed up,
you know, is the entire game plan around that when
McDavid's on the ice, because he's just that special of
a player. So I didn't have an issue with it.
I'd be more curious because Eddie's more of a NHL purist,
you know.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Did he bombed that too?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Like was there more of a thought of like, hey,
he didn't have as big of an impact in the box,
and that's one of the reasons why people might have
had an.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Issue with it.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Edmund, your thoughts on Connor McDavid. A fine award for
a fine irishman who took it home last night.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Although losing any.

Speaker 7 (08:13):
Games, well, it's a little weird because he didn't do
anything in the last two games, so that, you know,
kind of leaves an interesting taste in your mouth. He
did have an amazing entire postseason and it is a
it's supposed to.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
Be the MVP of the entire playoffs.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
Now if somebody for Florida would have kind of really
stepped up, you know, because it was a I mean,
they were the better team. That's why I picked them,
you know at the beginning of the of the series
to win the Cup. Get but you know, Bbrovsky after
the first three games, they were ready to put his
name on it.

Speaker 8 (08:46):
But then they had the next three games and that
took his name.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
I mean, he had he had a he had the
great game when it counted most.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
But there wasn't really anybody for Florida who really stood out,
and you're like, well that's the guy if they win.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Yeah to the other the what the most assists?

Speaker 5 (09:04):
This uh the Stanley Cup.

Speaker 7 (09:07):
It was fourth most points ever in the postseason, right yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
I still can't get over the fact that they had
literally had more goals on the pedally kill than.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
If they allowed power play goals. I was like, how
is that possible?

Speaker 5 (09:23):
I mean, it's supposed to be your your special teams,
your advantage, right, and they literally flipped the script like
that was you. You could talk about the series for
a while. There were certain things that stood out. That
was the first thing to me. How amazing Edmonton was.
The entire Stanley Cup and in particular series on the
power Play kill.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
It was unbelievable how many of you guys view this.
If Atmington were to have actually pulled it out with
the comeback that they made, and it's.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
Huge for Canada, right, it would have been great, I
mean would have been great. We saw one Oilers fan
how excited she was. That'd have been the entire country.

Speaker 7 (09:59):
I mean, and you know, all of a sudden years
ninety three was the last time a Canadian team was
with that head.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, Patrick Waugh, Eddie's La Kings.

Speaker 8 (10:09):
Didn't You didn't need to include that.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I'm just simply stated, I'm still upset with you that
you I swear to God, I didn't change a song
like I will take a lie detector test. I swear
to God, I had nothing to.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Do with Can you get the light detector out please?
We're going to him up in between break.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
I've actually already sent the message to Veto asking why
he would do such a thing. I don't want to
reveal what I know until later on the show, but
Jonas can you didn't tease it, but I do have
some inside infull on this.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Oh wow, what is this? What's going on behind the
scenes here?

Speaker 3 (10:43):
I can't.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
I would tell you to a later portion of the
show and I'll explain what I believe or who I
believe is the culprit.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Okay, fair enough, all right? That makes all the sense
in the world.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
It's a very corny opening song.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
It is.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
It's a song it was a little what's so is it?

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Because it's it was just a corny It's a corn
I mean, it's a cool song, but it's a corny song.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
I mean, what were you doing when that song came out?
Because I'm trying to think how old I was.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
When I came out. I don't remember.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Oh, you had to have been like in college. Is
that like from the nineties, like early nineties.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
I don't, hold on, I'm gonna look it up, but
I don't. I don't.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
I don't remember one hundred percent what I was doing
when that song came out.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
I see, when did it come to ninety six? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (11:34):
I was in high school. I was, I was, I
was in high school. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I mean, now,
ninety six was a good year. It was a good year,
but I don't remember. I don't recall what I was
doing when that song.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Case.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Wait a second, the guy, the singer of that song
was born in Germany.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah, you couldn't tell by his accent.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Now I couldn't. I'm sorry. I couldn't return of the max.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Return exactly where you're from. But I know he wasn't from.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Here yet I didn't. I didn't know Ramstein did a
cover of that, so no, I couldn't tell that he
was German. Yeah, apparently I needs Uh, you say it,
say what you want to say. I'm not going to.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
I didn't know blacks lived in the Germany.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
That's what you wanted to say. That's what you wanted
to say. Black people do live in the UK.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Hey, no, listen, all good, you know, dang bro all good.
I just you know, I wasn't expecting that. But nonetheless,
we'll we'll maybe get to the bottom of that throughout
the course of the show. As to who was responsible
for switching up and ripping Sandford and Son from the
airway going, it's two pros.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
And a couple of out here yesterday.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, you did get dumped yesterday.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
I would have got dumped for that. Well, that just
did like the goalpost moved from show to show. Q
you know, all with out of doubt. Yeah, we were
good on our show, but I don't know.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
You talked about a comeback and it was very well placed.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I thought it was.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
I mean, it was superpriate placed. I thought it was
appropriate for the conversation. And that's what I'll leave it at.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
About a double on Tandra, it's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Well, I know this. We are going to have the

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I don't know. I think everyone's still a little shook
from from what happened at the start of the show.

Speaker 5 (15:03):
This is like that new Instagram song that everyone uses now,
is it?

Speaker 1 (15:07):
It's like, yeah, yeah, I thought that was the Hawkta
thing or whatever it's called.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
I don't know what you're talking about. Jonas Brady is
correct and what he's saying. Yeah, I literally any video
click on you like, hear this virtue?

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Not in any of my video.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
It's kind of funky, you know, kind of like lead
a lapang.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Is he funky?

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Lee? Lee?

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Would you describe yourself as funky? Super funky?

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Oh wow?

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Okay, especially today?

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Tang Tang?

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Why do you say that?

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Right now?

Speaker 1 (15:58):
That right is here? I love that he's over there,
like wafting his nose.

Speaker 10 (16:05):
I'm talking about Oh wow, last night, Lee, a lot
of cheese.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
I could smell it on myself.

Speaker 11 (16:13):
Say Eddie's covering his ears just his nose.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Lee, Are you were in board shorts by the way,
I am.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
He's a surfer dude, man, Is.

Speaker 11 (16:30):
I mean I've been I've been surfing in a way,
couch CouchSurfing.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Lee, were you able to get J J.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Redick for us this morning?

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Like we had asked?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Yeah's locked and loaded. He's okay, We got him all right. So, uh,
it is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up in
we'll call it a little over twenty minutes from now.
Somebody on this show might be responsible for some good
luck that was brought to an entire program. We will
get into that for you again a little over twenty
minutes from now, but it was introduced yesterday the hiring

(17:04):
of JJ Reddick by the Los Angeles Lakers. We do
have a little bit from JJ Reddick talking with the
media yesterday that gathered to ask him a bunch of questions,
and here was a Listen.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
What misconceptions or concerns about you that you've heard in
the last few weeks are you most like looking forward
to dispelling.

Speaker 12 (17:26):
It's a valid question, and I've certainly heard everything you know,
it's it's been a really interesting six weeks or so
just in terms of, you know, being part of the
engagement farming industry.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
You know, it's been really interesting.

Speaker 12 (17:47):
However, I don't really have a great answer for your
question because I really don't give up. Like, honestly, I
want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team.
I don't want to dispell anything.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
I don't.

Speaker 12 (18:02):
I want to become a great coach in the NBA,
and I want to win championships and I want my
players to maximize their careers. That's all I care about.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Fiery, I love that.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Great.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
That's the typical kiss ass media that covers the Lakers.
It's just.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Erdis said Johnson.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
That's my that's my kind of coach.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
There, Um, that's our coach.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Oh gosh, he's one of us.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Like what geez?

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Fanboys?

Speaker 6 (18:47):
All right, Well, how did you guys feel about it?
I mean, now, what was what was your takeaway from that?

Speaker 5 (18:51):
Didn't we have a chance leader to bring JJ Redick
on today?

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:55):
We did. I believe I believe Lee, we are going
to bring JJ Redick on today. Correct? Is that our three?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Our three, our our four.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
No, no, no, our three.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Really I thought we had it that we know. I'm lost.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
I think Lee is too.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Do you remember talking last night?

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Oh my god, of course. Okay.

Speaker 6 (19:27):
It's like the moments where I just know, like it's
it's Lee. It's moments like these where I just really realized.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Hold on, I am not wearing this one.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
What am I doing right now?

Speaker 1 (19:43):
We had something that we were going to try and
pull off. Keep it up with JJ reddick that I
don't know that it's that it's ready to go. Maybe
maybe to be ready to go at our three, But I.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Don't know have Lee's responses, I have zero confidence.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I don't know what gave you that indication? Was the
board shorts law?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
That could have been the first indicreator you know, could
have been in.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Now would you like to hear the way?

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Just on that note, is there any more of an
indicator if someone weres board shorts like a meeting, like
let's say, is your attorney or your accountant, You're like, oh,
I can tell you my taxes are not done.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I mean, this dude just walked with board shorts.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
Clearly, his priority is not anything that I'm asking him
to do as a professional man, like that's is that not
the most telling thing that someone could wear into a
meeting where you're like, oh, this isn't this isn't gonna go.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
I'm not a big fan of board shorts, to be.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Honest with you, like that we need to go down
that path.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Well, there's no pockets. I'm just saying, where do you
put your stuff?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
I'm saying, tell me I'm wrong, Like, tell me something.
You're board shorts. You're looking at going, oh no, they're
gonna get this.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Done you undred percent right, undred percent right? So you know,
not not an effective way.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
It wasn't a super big, big, tall task either, you know,
it really was it right, We're.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
All right now. Would you like to hear us as
we are efforting getting JJ redickon to ask him a
bunch of questions throughout the course of the show, Would
you guys like to hear Rob Polenka, the GM of
the Lakers, lie to the media. This is fun I
hear he was, Yeah, of course here he was trying
to pretend that Lebron James had no real influence on

(21:27):
the hiring or anything that goes on there.

Speaker 13 (21:29):
He was very supportive of our organization in this process,
and that's a different word, and I want to be
mindful of the word, so I would say say it again.
Lebron was very supportive of us in our process, but
chose not to be heavily involved and we respected that.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yeah, that's that's his mo. He's never involved in any disease.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
He chose not to be heavily involved, and we respect that.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, you got it?

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Should we not that sect that a little bit?

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yeah, it's a lie, Like it's pretty it's it's pretty simple.
It's a lie. He's been involved in every move that's
ever been made for any organization he's ever played for,
and wanted influence and wanted say in all of it.
And that's fine, But all of a sudden in year
twenty eight or whatever it is now he doesn't want
to say it's just like, what are we doing here?

Speaker 6 (22:17):
Well, Well, if the statement were true, what does that
say about Rob Polinka and just the decision makers of
the team, Like, what does heavily involve consist of? He
didn't want to be heavily involved? What does that consist of?

Speaker 4 (22:39):
You know?

Speaker 6 (22:39):
Because I mean, wasn't he at the meetings that they
have photos of them?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
You know?

Speaker 6 (22:43):
Having you know, lunches and stuff like that with the
coaches and different things like that.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
I mean, how many players do that?

Speaker 6 (22:50):
How many active roster players are part of the coaching searching,
you know, search committee.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
That's a good question.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
I mean, I know there's typically players who will go
try to recruit other players, right Like wasn't or in
some of the Golden State Warriors with Steve Kerr when
they went after Kevin Durant. Yeah, wasn't that a thing
that Gail flew and kind of made their pitch? Like
typically you see it that way, It's not very often
you see players do it. However, this is Lebron James.

(23:20):
I mean, if there was a player to do it,
he would be that player to do it. At this
point in time in his career. I think he's he's
earned that. And there's other players and other sports that
have you know, chimed in on that. You know, I
think you know, you talk about Aaron Rodgerson and some
of the difficulties I think he had in Green Bay
with some of the coaching hires and so forth, like

(23:41):
that was something that I think he you don't want
to be more involved.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
In, wouldn't we think that's a slippery slope.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
Like I would, I would, I would be curious because
and listening to all of this play out as as
it took place, everybody just talked about what the conditions
would be based off of.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Who Lebron wanted hired.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
I mean, and now, while I don't necessarily look at
it and feel as though it's as egregious as maybe
it's been reported, or as JJ reddick the click what
do you say to clickbait farmers or to click farmers
or whatever, I just really find myself thinking, isn't a
coach in a compromised position? Like, yes, Lebron has done

(24:28):
enough and has earned the respect and the clout to
kind of call his shot if the organization feels that
strongly about him and his services. But doesn't that put
the coach in a compromising position? And doesn't that to me?
The first thing I think about when I hear a
statement like that is it makes the Hurley, you know,

(24:53):
kind of passing up on the job have a little
bit more relevancy to it, because even if Lebron wasn't
very much involved, what if that was the narrative? What
what what if that was the kind of overarching feeling
that Lebron's influence has everything to do with what this

(25:14):
hiring is going to be and what it's going to
look like. If that's the case, you got to believe
that in some ways some form, even if Lebron James
has a good approach to what what's he's thinking or
what he wants out of the scenario with his contribution,
that that's that's kind of you're putting your your coach

(25:36):
in possibly a compromising position, right.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Yeah, but that's probably the position that coach is in regardless.
I mean, I feel like if you sign up to
be the head coach of a team with a absolute legend,
one of the all time greats, it goes hand in hand.
I just I feel like that's what you're ultimately dealing with,

(26:00):
is you're dealing with someone who's, you know, going to
want to have a say in some of this, or
someone who believes that they've reached a point where you
should listen to them. And I don't think they're necessarily wrong.
And I'll put it this way. I know a head
coach who interviewed for you know a former head coach
who interviewed for another head coaching job. In the NFL,

(26:21):
and the ownership group was surprised that he had contacted
the quarterback before the interview, and one of the reasons
he did it is because he knew how important it
was to have a relationship with that player walking in
the door, understanding how he feels about things, how he

(26:41):
sees things from an offensive standpoint, and that was incredibly important,
not only to him from his prior experience in coaching
and seeing another superstar he you know, had coached and
been with, you know, hand in hand, but also moving
forward knowing what that was going to be like. So
I'm not going to say who it was or who

(27:02):
it is, but I'll put it this way. He was
dead on and the organization decided to go in a
different direction. So and looked and honestly, like the way
that whole situation worked out, you look back on it
and go, yeah, that was probably the better approach of it.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
So I look at it this way.

Speaker 5 (27:24):
I think what's going to be fascinating is and this
is what happens in our society is if we see
someone who takes a prominent job, and this is one
of the most ballyhooed jobs, you know, positions in sport.
It just is being the Lakers head coach. It's that

(27:45):
legendary of a franchise. To me, what's going to stand
out is if JJ Reddick hits and he's able to
make this team into a championship team. And I'm not
talking about the bubble boys, all right back in twenty twenty,
all right, terrible move.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
I'm not talking about that.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
I am talking about a legit full NBA season, actually
getting into the playoffs, not happen to be in the
play in. I don't care about the end season term.
I'm talking about winning an NBA finals. You are then
gonna look at them differently and say, all right, like
players can do this. Guys, guys can have zero experience
and can come from broadcasting and do this. And I

(28:23):
think it's a good thing for a lot of other
former athletes because it opens the door for them to
realize the influence of it. But I also think, you know,
there's a lot of naysayers, because there's gonna be a
lot of people who want to look at them say
it's not that easy, and at first off.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
It's not.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
I mean, you have to be an exceptionally intelligent high
IQ EQ all that stuff. Understand the team building schematics
and everything else, and maybe JJ redixack gout.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
We don't know.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
I mean, it's gonna be fascinating to watch. I think
that's the biggest thing for me. I said this to
Jonas last week. LeVar, that's I'm more fascinated and curious
than I am as far as like having an opinion
on them.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
I just want to watch. I want to see how
it plays out because.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
I'm curious because this is this storyline has played out
once before in a different sport.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Have we gotten JJ Honor?

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Are we still waiting?

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I don't believe so. I think I'm still still working
on that.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
The dude does not abide I mean he said he
didn't give en f so I mean it makes sense
for me.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Conor McGregor now now JJ Reddick.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Seriously, I mean, shouldn't there be some type of feeling
like I don't know that I've seen a storyline come
out or anything like that. But to your point, Q,
when you look at what happened with Jeff Saturday, I
mean I felt that I kind of feel like I
said the same a lot of the same things you're
saying right now. You know, it could have such a

(29:50):
profound impact on.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
A bit of a difference. I mean, he's not taking
over in the middle of the season and all that. Well,
that well, that is fit to that is fair. He
was set up to fail besides their their initial game,
which looked great.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Yeah, his first game, that's all you needed.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
I thought it was because you were going to get
a position of the staff. Like now that that thing
didn't work out, can we talk about that for a second.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Sure, did you have something lined up?

Speaker 6 (30:15):
No? Okay, no, I'm not. I'm not in the I'm
not in there, you know, the coaching world anymore.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
I'm not. It's done. I love radio, I.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Know, but I still like seeing you on the sidelines
like that.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
I don't know. I mean I was out there at that.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
You could do both. We do someone else who's doing
both right now?

Speaker 4 (30:36):
I know.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
I thought about it, you know, when I heard that
announcement and saw that the show was still going to
continue on and now that's a part of the opening.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
I thought about it. I'm not going to precedent setting.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
That's what happens is once one person does it, then
everyone else like either.

Speaker 6 (30:52):
Once I knew I would be supported and what it
is that I was doing. But I knew I had
to be the hate coach and that's not going to
be an easy thing much.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Oh really do you think.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Do you think part of the issue also was just
your violent past with other coaches that you've been in around.
I mean, yeah, after hearing how walking corpse that was
assaulted during a like.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
After hearing how aggressive JJ Reddick was with how he
answers questions, I mean, that's that's what That's what the
people want.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
You heard of people what they want? You can't do that.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
You heard him in the background. Yeah, they were there.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Oh my gosh, I love that answer. Loved Johnson.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Uh in your defense, the guy with the auction tank
kind of you.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Know, I tried to.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
For why would I call from the video?

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Why is this.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Happening right now?

Speaker 6 (31:46):
My man rolled up right up on me. He picked
me up. I'm not even a head coach. All the
coaches is on the field. He want to run up
on me.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
He thought he was in a safe space, speaking of
bubble boys like he thought he was like in a
very clean, hygienic aar of environment that he could operate
and not face the consequences of forty says, unlike Loreno.

I don't know why you said that.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
His impression of you is actually even worse though, is really.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, I don't do impressions.

Speaker 10 (33:52):
He's like, hey, Lee, oh my god, okay, there sometimes
do like the the la.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
That's terrible again, just misinformation. That is uh, how did
how that one's out?

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Yeah, he goes, Uh, it's a weird impression because it
sounds like you're like a skater dude.

Speaker 4 (34:20):
It's like this that's sounds that's awful. How redes that
of mine? It's awful?

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Fox Sports Radio Radio Alrightley, what do we got? All right, guys,
we had champions.

Speaker 11 (34:44):
Obviously we talked about the Panthers beating the Oilers, but
of course we had other champions yesterday, that of course
being Tennessee beating Texas A and M in A. Sixty five, yeah,
sixty five about yesterday in the U World Championship.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Actually, if you want to hear some sound, I have
some sound.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Of sound of that.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
World Series Championship. Yes, I have sound. I have tons
of sound, Brady, you want to hear some sound? I
have the World.

Speaker 11 (35:13):
Series Championship finals on Westwood NCAA Radio network.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Take a list end hit high in the air, that's
deep center field.

Speaker 8 (35:21):
Going back on it, Lava Lant look.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
It up at the wall, it's off the wall, and
in play he fires it back in.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
We're gonna try to score the runner the play at
the plate.

Speaker 12 (35:30):
He is safe at home, play, Safe.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
At home played.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
Ansley avoided the tag of Jackson.

Speaker 11 (35:36):
Apel amazing play if you didn't catch it cause he
missed it.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
By the way, it should be pointed out that Tennessee,
you know, ever since you know the Arrington's visited now
they won a World Series championship. You know, should be
should be pointed out there.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
Did you see Peyton afterwards? He was and just gonna
be baseball. He's like, we're coming from all sports. He
was there talking afterwards.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Tony Batello too, jumped into the crowd. Was actually awesome.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
I thought it was a player for a second, in
part because that dude's shredded, but also because the way
he like sprinted over and jumped in.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
I was like, oh, this has to be like one
of the players that was.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Tony's got a little bit of a red ass too.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah, but that's perfect for a baseball coach.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
I feel like baseball coaches have to have a little
bit of red ass all the time.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
By the way, the sound of a of a home
run off an aluminum bat is so cool, Oh.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
So cool, and you know it's gone.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
I should allowed major League baseball? Why not?

Speaker 4 (36:38):
That's what sounded like because people would die.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
Those balls would be hit so hard back at players
In the end, I mean, you'd have to change the
dimensions of the diet pictures literally, pictures would have to
wear like catcher's gear and try to pitch it.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
At the exit velocity if they like two hundred miles
an hour.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Hit the ball.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
That was the sound that my parent teacher conferences.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Oh yeah, you get you get aluminum.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
Bat for me. Get it again.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Let the parent teacher met.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
Say, indeed, bad memories? Is that what you were a
kid or what you're talking about your kids?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
No, when I was a kid, what they give you
like an Easton? Get it right on the backside, you
got a line or what was the head?

Speaker 4 (37:37):
Sometimes too, you know you get it?

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Yeah, yeah, North Hill's so embarrassed.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Oh my gosh.
