Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
Joe with Lamar Arrington rating win and Jonas Knox on
Fox Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
How the hell we feel in here after a long weekend?
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Wo what a weekend?
Speaker 4 (00:18):
Huh yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Great?
Speaker 5 (00:19):
What a weekend of college football? Now we've got the
NFL adding to the mix this week. It's it's just
been awesome. I'm so happy football is back.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Can I make a proclamation? I would like to guarantee
you something here on the care Beau. This is the
business of guarantees. I will guarantee you Florida State will
not be in the top ten when the new rankings
come out.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
Sure, I'm going to how about that's all guarantee you
they won't to be the top twenty five after the
college football rankings come out. And just remind people the
college football playoff rankings won't be out for a while,
so that we know for sure the AP and coaches
pull will be out I think today, and yet it
will not be a part of the.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Top twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Dang, I mean kind of.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I mean they've been pretty impressive if you ask.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Me, you think so.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
Yes, it takes an impressive group to come out and
start owing too. I mean, it just does. And and
to travel as far as they did to do it.
I mean, man, they've given these teams life. Shouts out
to Bill O'Brien and then to the start of his
career at Boston College, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I mean, they had a good show.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
It was a fun weekend and you got a little
bit of everything, little mixture of everything. You know, a
lot of a lot of underdogs performing well against the spread.
Mother nature kicks some people in the nuts, as Brady
witnessed on Morgantown over the world.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I mean, do we really want to do a recap?
Is this how they want to do it?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Or do it?
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Maybe place some some music underneath. It spiced this thing
up a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
I mean, here we go.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Let's just start off with the number one Georgia Bulldogs
taking Clemson to the matt I think a lot of
people question, right now, where is this Clemson program?
Speaker 4 (02:04):
What happened to Dabo Sweeney?
Speaker 5 (02:06):
The Buckeyes got started off slow with Akron ended up
pulling away. The addition of Will Howard as the transfer
quarterback was seen. However, it was Jeremiah Smith that stole
the show with a couple of touchdown catches the freshman phenom.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
We need to keep an eye on him.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Oregon played another tight game as well versus Idaho.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
It took him to the end to really pull away.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Dylan Gabriel put up some impressive stats, but maybe not
quite as advertised so far. But we'll see what they
look like in Week two of college football as we.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Go on down the list.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
Texas took care of business versus Colorado State.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Quinn Ewers was on fire.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Any questions of whether or non Texas is back, you know,
I think they answered those to some degree. Arch Manic
even got some burn time. Looked good as well as
he jumped in.
Speaker 7 (02:51):
There.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
We go through the list, we've got.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Oklahoma State was able to poundce South Dakota State.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
They looked like they could be a contender in the
Big Twelve.
Speaker 7 (02:59):
No.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Notre Dame took advantage.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Of Texas AAEM on the road with a salty defense
and a running game led by Jeremiah Love, the running
back who's pretty high on I mean myself. Let's talk
about Penn State var for a chime in here on
your Nitney Lions taking care of business in Morgantown was a.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Little sloppy like the weather.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
You know, a little bit of bad ball handling here
and there, but after you know, they shored up and
got their sea legs under them. It looked as though
they were able to establish to run play fast defense,
and on offense, they pushed the ball downfield, and I
mean they looked like they could have some guys and
(03:43):
Wallace and.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
What's the other fella's name, Amari Banks. There we go, mister, yeah,
I got you, I got you. Moving on.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Tennessee took advantage of Chattanooga sixty nine to three. Nico Maleava,
their quarterback there, showed out in a big way.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
He looks to be the real deal.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Remember he was the guy who supposed to had that
nil deal worth what about eight million dollars or so.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Whatever it was.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
I don't know what they're paying on, but it looks
like it's pan off. Iowa forty points forty points from.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Well, it's not all the Iowa offense, but the defense
was stout.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Kade macnamer was able to throw three tudies never twohundred
and fifty yards.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
It seemed like an offensive explosion.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Lsuit number thirteen LSU and USC battled on Sunday night.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
It was a great game. Southern Cal, though, was able
to win this thing out.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Miller mosslok fantastic, as did the wide receivers and an
improved defense from Southern Cal.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
When I was all said and done, y'all about the
you U might be back?
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Baby cam wore the number one transfer quarterback this offseason
helped the Miami Hurricanes go into the swamp and pound
the Florida Gators. Billy Navier could be in trouble with
the schedule that they've got this season. Old Miss and
Jackson Dart no big deal, just five touchdowns over four
yards passing in the first half versus Furman. They cruised
to win seventy six to nothing. Kansas State led by
(05:00):
Avery Johnson who threw for over one hundred and fifty
yards a couple of tunnies, but they took care of
ut Martin forty one to six.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Michigan, a tight one ross Fresido State till the second half.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
They pull away in the fourth quarter. That's Davis warning
gets to start. However, again still a salty defense. Will
Johnson with a pick six on that one. Bama's Bama
sixty threet enough versus Western Kentucky Jalen Milrose showed out
in a small sample size and another wide receiver keeping
on Ryan Williams. There are a couple of receptions for
one hundred and thirty nine yards and two touchdowns. Oklahoma
(05:30):
cruised to beat Temple fifty one to three, Arizona sixty
one to thirty nine over in New Mexico, maybe a
more competitive game than they thought a team at their
wide receiver. There are ten receptions, three hundred yards and
four touchdowns, a school record. Kansas cruises to beat Lindenwood
forty eight to three, Missoo fifty one to nothing over
Missouri State. Excuse me, Murray State and NC State beats
(05:53):
Western Carolina in second half, pulling away there to beat
them thirty eight to twenty one. In Utah, Cam risen
for a seventh year over turn and fifty yards passing
five touchdowns forty nine to nothing over Southern Utah.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
And we already know what happened in Ireland.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Don't into recap that there it is, that's how it's done.
Put that in your recap pipe and smoke it everybody.
That's how it's done. That's a week one recap that
is a.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Recap now hell yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Oh yeah, now I do, because you had some boots
on the ground in Morgantown. What the hell was that?
Seem like we.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
That was one of the coolest college atmospheres I have
ever been a part of. I mean, the people there
in Morgantown said this. There wasn't as much hype around this,
you know season, and really this team since going back
to the Geno Smith Tevon Austin, Bruce Irving Tavon and
Bruce and you know, both were able to come onto
(06:53):
the set. Gino's too busy getting ready for the season.
But you know, you got a sense for the excitement
that they had because of how they finished the season.
And it was a surprising season. Last year, I think
West Virginia was slated to you I don't know if
it was finished last but you know, everyone thought that
they would played poor last year, Neil Brown would get fired,
(07:14):
and they turn around have a nine one season. They
really surprised a lot of folks and build up this optimism.
I got to be honest though, when I was watching
the tape towards the end of the year, when I
turned on the videotape, I was like, they're kind of
planning some poor opponents. I really wasn't high on this team.
Was more curious to see what they'd look like. They
lost some pieces, in particular Zach Frazier, who moved on
(07:35):
to the NFL level. I just wasn't sure what to expect,
and going based off last year's game versus Penn State,
you know, they they weren't able to stop Drew Aller,
and same thing showed out this year. All the are
a few big, you know, big TD passes that the
storyline was more of the offense of Penn State and
what it would look like, which we can get into
that at some point, but that atmosphere was incredible and
(07:59):
they showed out for their team, and you know, as
LeVar touched on, it was sloppy for both teams I
think to start off, but then it, you know, slowly
Penn State started to pull away and just with some
big plays, which was something that you know, you didn't
see a lot from Penn State. I think they had
what two plays over fifty yards in this game, which
was they had like six all last year.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
It was just like in the first half.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
So it was pretty remarkable to see how a coach
can kind of transform your perception of a team and
help out a player who's got a lot of ability
but maybe hasn't showed it quite as much. That was
on display. But Morgantown was incredible. I mean the MGK
concert and everything else that we had kind of going
on there was unlike any venue we've ever been to
(08:41):
to date. It was that crazy, and there's people everywhere
everywhere around the stadium, in the parking lot, tail and
just everything. The set it was absolutely nuts. What was
the delay like, Well, that was there was a lot
to it, so i'll tell you behind the scenes. So
(09:01):
our set that's down in the stadium, it's small, and
it actually collapses and then rolls. So once we get done,
we jump off as fast as possible. They collapse it
and roll it away, so none of the players potentially
get hurt since you're usually in one of the end zones. Well,
right before we come on, a half liner was standing
(09:23):
under it to get in the shade.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Because it was so hot and he was sweating profusely.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
So I stand more closer to the field, realizing at
some point they're gonna, you know, pump this thing and
it's gonna expand up and then and they're gonna roll
it back into.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Place closer to the field. Well, Liner doesn't see it.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
I guess they didn't have any pocket presence here, and
the top of the set actually hit him in the
forehead and so he dashes his forehead.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
So he's bleeding. We're trying to find.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
A cutman on the sideline and meanwhile he's like, I'm
not gonna come on arias I'm bleeding, and they're like, yeah,
I probably probably shouldn't. So as we jump on set,
they go, hey, we're probably gonna either stay here. But
after we're done, we got to run to the outside set.
There's lightning, which when you when you're like, all right,
there's a storm rolling and why would we go to
the outside set.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Everyone keeps reassuring.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Us that it's grounded and that we will not get
struck by lightning or anything else for that matter. The
problem was, as this storm rolled in when we were outside,
is the wind. I mean, we had all sorts of
stuff that was being like pulled up off the ground,
Like I honestly thought I was gonna getting pailed by
a pop up tent.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
It was.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
It was that crazy it was that wild and at
one point, like you could kind of see from the
clip that went viral, like we I looked over at
Urban and I looked at the weather, and I was like, man,
I said, Herbs, that looks like it's like a tornado,
you know, cloud, like a funnel cloud.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
And he just looks at me and shook his head
and finally summoned at LA.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
He's probably sitting back on a nice, warm, sunny day
and just perfect weather. It's like, huh, that looks pretty bad.
Maybe we should have the guys go inside. So that
eventual took place, but it was a good like thirty
minutes of trying to figure out how the hell we're
gonna have to broadcast something through that. But the house lioner, now, yeah,
(11:10):
they actually were like thedn't stitch them up. I don't
know if he ended up having his stitches or not,
because it was a pretty decent little gash, but they
ended up taping him up and like had to like
put make him stuff over.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
It was still bleeding through though.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Dang, that's crazy, that's crazy. I wish they would have
had y'all on though.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
I'll tell you that I was trying to stick in there,
but I had to switch up, man, I.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Had to go. That was the case. My wife might
have been collecting insurance policy at this point.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
So well, I'm glad you're safe, bro, But for the
sake of us sports fans, it would have been nice
to hear y'all during the delay.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
I mean, you saw what it looked like behind us that.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I was getting to play by play the whole time too.
I was I would leave.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
I was at least two of my former teammates wing
man by FaceTime, if you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
So yeah, I was interesting. I texted Brady because I
saw it. I'm a weather nerd to begin with, and
I saw the clouds in the sky. I was like,
that is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. Like,
I wish I was there. I'm glad you thought that
was I am.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
They go, oh, they'll be corpusized, hail coming down what
And then usually they've they've got these curtains almost that
they'd pull if there's rain, so you're not getting everything
not gonna be dumped on.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
And I looked over and the guys like trying to
put it on. They're like, no, no, you can't go.
There's there's lightning as like.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
So then that was an issue because at some point
if it did rain, we probably would have gotten the
cameras and everything absolutely soaked.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
So it was which it did. Fortunately we were inside
right before it started.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
And then this week you're Ann Arbor correct.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Michigan Texas a huge game, huge game in college football.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yeah, that's a fun one.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
And there may be a another performing act.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
I won't disclose anything. That's still finalizing some things, but
maybe another performer.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Oh sweet, Yeah, maybe John Paul Morosio swing by, Ann Arburn.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
He should, Yeah, he should cruise on by to say hello.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific

Speaker 3 (13:15):
He's Mike Krmen, I'm Dan Bayern.
Speaker 8 (13:16):
We have a fantasy football podcast called I Want Your Flex.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
That's right, Dan.
Speaker 9 (13:21):
Every week we're gonna scour the waiver wire to find
the pickups to turbo boost your fantasy lineup, sit starts,
fantasy football players rankings to get you ready to dominate
the competition.
Speaker 8 (13:33):
Listen to I Want Your Flex with Mike Carmon and
meet Dan Byer on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts and
wherever you get your podcasts so too.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
By the way, I don't know if you guys were
aware of this, but the NFL season kicks off this
week coming up in a couple of days. When are
we doing our season picks? You want to do it tomorrow?
You want a Thursday because to you, you can get
this smoke.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
I'm ready to go Thursday. I'd like every moment I
can get injury information, roster is all set.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
All that stuff. I'm ready to go.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
As I said to you before, Jonas, everyone thinks that
final cutdown is the final cutdown.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
It's not.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
There's still some moving and shaking and stuff going on
right now. Think about San Francisco, for example, Trent Williams,
who may very well be missing games this season. As
Jonas is prayed for someone to actually hold out.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
There's such a clown.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
I know, I don't know why.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
But the truth of the matter is that's a player
that currently you got to keep on the roster. But
you've got to have some offensive line depth in the
event that he does hold out and he does miss games,
because if he does, he's ting me out there, right,
you gotta have someone, you have a backup for that
person too. So because of that, rosters are set like
(14:45):
ninety eight percent ninety nine percent, there's still that one
or two percent that that that could change, and that
still happens up to week one, literally day of the
game for each team. So I'd like all that all
the time I can get.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Do you want to know why I'm hoping one of
these holdouts bleeds into the season. Why, let me tell
you why. Why I'm doing it for us? Okay, that
hope is for us, and it's hoped for everybody else
in our industry who had to discuss these stories during
the off season. And if they all just get resolved
at the end, what was the point? So I want
(15:21):
to look back and realized, Also, we didn't waste a
bunch of time talking about Trent Williams. He actually stuck
to his guns and he actually held out into the season. Also,
we didn't waste all that time talking about Jamar Chase.
He actually told Gold Coast or gold Star whatever it is,
the Chili company there, keep your tip jar, I don't
need these discount TVs being sold to try and pay
(15:42):
my checks. I'm out until you guys offer up the
kind of money I'm looking for and we can look
back and go. It wasn't a waste of time, Like
I'm doing this for us, all right. So I think
a little bit more respect and credit should be throwing
my way for standing up for the industry and letting
everybody know that we're doing God's work work here trying
to discuss topics that actually mean something with these guys
(16:03):
hold out in the season. Damn on the teleprom on
the teleprompter, man, look at that. You just called me whitlock.
Who Damn.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
That's your guy.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Now that being said, uh, we do have a couple
of games coming up here in the NFL, one being
the Thursday night game Ravens Chiefs, which we can get into.
The other one being the Friday game Eagles Packers. I mean, look,
it's a great game, could be potentially an NFC championship preview.
(16:42):
The best part is it's gonna be all the way
over in Brazil.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Is that the best part? Well, and it don't sound
like it.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
It seemed like it was until you heard some Eagles
players be very vocal about the fact that they're not
happy about having to go there, one of those being
Darius Slay, who was on the Big play Shape podcast, which,
by the way, at some point somebody's gonna run out
of names for podcasts, like we got to figure this
thing out. But he was on the Big play Shape
podcast and he discussed his concerns with going to Brazil.
Speaker 10 (17:13):
We were not looking forward to it. I can't wait,
but man, I do not want to go to Brazil.
And you want to know why. I'm here to tell
you why. They already told us not to lead a hotel.
They told us we can't do too much going on
because it's the crowd.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
Rate is crazy. You know what I'm saying. I'm like, NFL,
why do't y'all want to send us somewhere with the
crowdweight this high?
Speaker 10 (17:31):
And like we got the country, so you know, the
first thing people think is like something terbor can possibly happen.
I told my family, do not come down there because
I'm not gonna be nowhere to be found.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
That would be in the hotel, chilling mount of my.
Speaker 10 (17:41):
Business, playing my game at the Loan nine and a
half hour flight, So I don't have no intentions on
doing nothing. I'm gonna eat hotel food, I'm doing everything.
But they said, yeah, man, it gonna be pretty crazy
down there, you know. Uh, the police said they gonna
be you know, try to be the best they could
possibly be, the top flight security of the world create
you know what I'm saying. So we hope for that, man,
(18:02):
But I'll do go down there to come down there
with a win.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
It does feel like, you know, we were discussing this
a little bit yesterday, but it does feel like, you know,
maybe this would have been a better idea for a
preseason game.
Speaker 6 (18:14):
You know, I think that makes a ton of sense.
Preseason makes sense, regular season. I'm just not sure why
they would do that, you know. And if you're going
to take them down there to be a show spectacle
for the National Football League, the least you could do
is make sure that they're able to experience the place
(18:38):
that they're going. And if that place isn't safe enough
for them to go do those things, then I don't
understand why you take your employees and send them there
for the show. It just it seems counterproductive. You're going
to fly there, you're going to keep them in the hotels, Like,
(19:00):
what is this? Is this like a regular game? Is
this like a regular game schedule? So are they going
down on Saturday? Because if they're going down on Saturday,
if if they leave to go there for a Saturday
and they played the game on Sunday and they come back,
then I guess it's not that big of a deal.
But if it's one of those like more extended stays,
(19:22):
like they're there for for more than three or four days,
then that doesn't make sense to me that you would
take them to a place where they're they can only
be in the hotel at the safest place.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
They're leaving tomorrow, So the Eagles are leaving Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Wednesday, so Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Yeah, so three three days, three.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
Days in your hotel in a different place.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
I mean, I just you know, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
But but security with football is different than other sports.
They monitor you differently than other sports. From what I
can gather, Basketball, they get a ton of free time.
They're not very you know, they're not on you know,
curfew or anything like that. It's like we're here, show
(20:11):
up to shoot around and then be there for the game.
Type stuff. It's not like that. In football. It's just
super structured. They have you structured out from breakfast, through walkthroughs,
through meetings, through a lunch, through more walkthroughs, through more meetings.
Maybe it's a practice, I don't know, but it's it's
(20:32):
much more regimented. It's much more structured than what you
would probably assume.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
So I don't know.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
Maybe it's not that big of a deal, but I
just don't know why you would take them to a
place where if they're saying that the safety of it
and the crime rate of it, we're going to do
our best to keep you guys safe, I don't know
why you take them there.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I mean it's a little late in the game. But
you know, Ricky Piersoll just got show like maybe this
is and that.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Wasn't in Brazil, but no, yeah that was That was in.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
San Francisco, which you know that the whole story is wild.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
I mean, obviously thoughts and prayers are with him, but
it sounded like it all came via a a card signing,
remember Bilia signing, and then some guy saw his watch
and then followed him.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Back to his place to try to get it.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Uh, he went to his car three Calardy in the afternoon.
I guess he was going shopping after the signing, and
then some guy rolled up seventeen year old with a
gun and wrestled. He got shot. I think the seventeen
year old got shot as well too. But I mean, hey,
you know what, at least you know San Francisco's in
the rotation for the Super Bowl, you know, so that's good. Yeah,
(21:44):
that'll be fun, fun for everybody. But yeah, I just
I look at the Brazil stuff and I go, I know,
like the growing of the game, but I feel like
you could have done a preseason game that would have
not had as much of an impact maybe on the
regular See in traveling back, like I was saying, I
wonder what Week two is going to look like for
these teams, because Philly's got a Monday night game but
(22:06):
Green Bay doesn't, and yeah they're both at home. But
I wonder if there's going to be any dragging ass
in week two. You know, who the hell knows whether
or not those guys are going to have any sort
of fun when they go out to Brazil. You know,
if they are, they just getting on the flight right
at the season with a little bit more time with
guys going to training camp, you know, maybe needing a
(22:28):
little bit of a break like a right you did
the trip to Japan. Wasn't that like a welcomed break
from training camp when you were like, oh damn, we're
going to get to go overseas And it's kind of
like almost like a field trip in the middle of
training camp in the preseason, and may be a little
bit more excited about it than having to interrupt your
season in your year by throwing a bunch of guys
(22:50):
on a plane, sending them over ten hours and trying
to figure out a regular season game in another country.
It feels problematic and we've got to all right, so
we are. We've got technical difficulties here. So if you're
wondering whether or not that was a poor question to
ask LeVar, probably, But the better story is the fact
that they both dropped. We have just Jonas knocks and
(23:12):
let me be honest with you, probably the bestest show's
ever sounded, if we're going to be really upfront about
the whole thing. All right, So riverside to those guys
and we were off and running here on a Tuesday morning.
How about that, Eddie? They ain't here to fight back
this time. That's how it works, that's the way this goes.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
Technology is usually a wonderful thing.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
I mean, it's fun, you know that stuff, it happens.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Now, the good thing about going over to Brazil though,
if you want to cover the game, if you're an
NFL reporter for the Packers or for the Eagles, yeah
you're not allowed. Yeah, that's been banned. So it's like
a nine thousand dollars fine if you use like a
different VPN to try and access X to go on there.
So if you really like tweeting, if you're a big
(24:09):
fan of it, I hope it's worth the nine g's
that it's going to cost you if you decide to
go down that road. When it comes to the NFL
going to Brazil.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Yeah, I just I just found out about this that
it's not it's nothing you know, specific to the NFL.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
It's uh, the country country of Brazil is at war
with Elon Musk.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah, as a whole because because they don't like the
fact that Elon Musk is promoting free speech. That's like
one of the backbones of this platform. Like he's very
serious about it. It's why he spent forty four billion
dollars to buy Twitter back in the day and exposed,
you know, all the all the craft that was going
on there behind the scenes with people that work at Twitter.
(24:48):
And so now you've got some places in some other
countries that are like, no, we don't like that, and
so Brazil is one of them. And now if you're
a reporter and you go over there, it's not going
to affect the game broadcast. But yeah, you just if
you're going to report on that, you cannot go on
X and fire that off. Otherwise you're gonna get popped
nine thousand dollars.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
So is it is that? Are we confirmed? And it's
it's nine thousand.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
I saw that eighty nine hundred dollars if you use
American I mean, is.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
What do you try to say?
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Nine grand goes a lot farther in Brazil?
Speaker 4 (25:20):
I'm possibly, yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Well, I mean, plus, if you're over in Brazil, I'd
rather have that nine grand for other things to be,
to be honest with you, so that could be sure.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
The people that live there would like your ninety half
as well.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
I'm sure they would.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
I'm sure they would, and they would probably take it.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
They'll get that in so much more for sure.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Right now. Pete Prisco is in CBS Sports analyst for
CBS Sports HQ senior NFL columnists. You can get them
on x at Prisco CBS. Pete, I'm sorry to inform you,
but no Brady Quinn at this moment because of an
Internet crashing on the show and therefore it knocked Brady
(26:07):
and LeVar out. So the Internet is gone here in
the studio.
Speaker 7 (26:12):
You know, Jonas, I'm gonna give you a lot of credit.
It one week in and those guys are already hiding
from me and here you are ready to go. I
love it.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Listen. Then, I mean they don't want the smoke from
the mayor of Jacksonville, all right. I have been told
that you kind of run the show down there, so
they don't want any of that, any of those problems
here this early in the morning. And it makes sense.
Speaker 7 (26:32):
Yeah, Well, I'm at Fort Lauderale now, but I'm still
the mayor of Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
But that's okay.
Speaker 7 (26:35):
Yeah, yeah. I used to live around the block from
Brady and so I'd be riding my bike and I
see Brady pushing forty two of his kids around and
his wife are walkin.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Yeah, that is true. You know, everyone's talking about Tyreek
Hill and the work he's done in South Florida when
Brady Quinn's like, you know, making a run for it,
you know, and now now in Ohio. So I do
want to ask you this. So the Trent Williams of
reporting is he's shown up and they're gonna, you know,
get this deal done and all that. Like there was
no shot that they weren't going to figure out a
(27:06):
way to get this deal done with Trent Williams right Like,
you know, it felt like just hearing John Lynch talk
about it that they I don't want to say they
valued him more than they did Brandon Ayuk, But this
always felt like this was going to get done one
way or another.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
It was. And nor was Trent Williams going to sit
out any games either. And he's done that before. But
everybody said, well he did it back in the day,
and but back in the day he wasn't older and
there's only so many earning years and games in your body.
He wasn't going to sit out anyways. But they came
to a good resolution, it sounds like, and that's that's
the way it should be. You want to reward a
veteran player is a big part of your offense. You know,
(27:43):
you look at their offensive line and he's not on
that offensive line. That's not a great offensive line. So
I think they had to get him done. He's smart
to get it done, and he's not going to miss
any games and off they go. So yeah, I agreed
with you. I always thought it was going to get done.
Guys don't sit out anymore. You know. The Redikan situation
with the Jets, this is interesting. I'll be curious to
see how that gets resolved, if it gets resolved at all.
(28:04):
But I mean, I can't imagine when you're that guy,
you're leading that money on the table.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
You know, it's weird because you mentioned the Hassan Reddick stuff,
and this is the part that kind of blows my
mind about the Jets, so like they're hung up on this. Well,
we don't want to set a precedent that, you know,
if we're going to reward players that don't show up
with new contracts, because what does that say to other
players in the building. Well, if you're Joe Douglas and
you're Robert Salah and Aaron, like, what do you care
(28:28):
what it does for next year? Because if you don't
win this year, you're gone anyways, So like, why not
fit Like I know it goes against unless Woody Johnson's
the guy handing them out, handing out the you know
the rules there that we don't operate this way. Why
not do whatever you can to get the best player
in the building or the best players in the building
a son reddick helps your team and then worry about
(28:49):
what this does to the organization down the road. If
this means you're gonna win games and people are going
to keep their jobs, I don't know why they're so
hung up on wanting to do things this way.
Speaker 7 (28:59):
Right, if you're Joe Douglas and Robert Fola, you got it.
You have to make this deal done because you're you're
right if they don't, if they do not win this year,
they're gone and they know that, and that's why it's
probably is coming from the top. But again, you'd make
the deal with the idea you're going to give him
a new contract, and then he doesn't get a new contract,
and all of a sudden you're sitting there just bad,
bad bit football business. So I agree with you, if
(29:22):
you're the coach and the general matter of that team,
you have to get that deal done as quickly as
you can to get him into the into the room
and get him, you know, acclimated to playing football again.
I don't understand the whole concept of it. They boxed
it and it ultimately could cost them.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
He is Pete Prisco, senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports,
CBS Sports HQ analyst joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
Get him on x at Prisco, CBS. So, the Jamar
Chase situation, this is the other one. You know, we thought, okay,
ceedee lamb, it got done, Brandon Aiyuka got done. It
appears Trent Williams is going to get done. He's in
San Francisco apparently putting pen to paper there with the
(29:59):
four twenty nine ers. Jamar Chase, now, I have said
that their season doesn't really start until next weekend because
they've got the Patriots this week, and they could beat
the Patriots with Chevy Chase at wide receiver. It doesn't matter.
But I look at it and I go, is he
really going to sit out? I guess this is another
(30:21):
one of these Do you do you buy that he'll
miss time or he'll miss games if he doesn't get
the contract he wants, or do you expect that this
gets done regardless? And this is all just smoke and
we're just going through the last final stages of getting
a contract done.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
I think you'll get a contract done. I really believe that.
The difference he's got two years left on this deal,
you know, that's that's the difference. He's got twenty four
and twenty five. So you know, now you're talking about
presidents there. But has he earned it? Of course he has.
The Bengals been considered tristy through the years. Yes, I
think the organization has changed that perception though they've done
(30:57):
a much better job of that. You know, to be
very limited in how many scouts they had and what
their scouting budget was like, but that that's changed, and
so I think ultimately they'll get this deal done. He's
not gonna miss game. This guy loves the compete. I
would be astounded if he didn't it didn't play in
this week's game. I really would. I think he'll be there,
He'll play, and then they'll get the deal done if
(31:20):
they don't get it done this week, because he's such
a big part of what they do, they have that
month field.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I was telling Brady this because he was giving me
a hard time because we talked about the Brandon n
Ayuk stuff as much as we did, and I'm like, dude,
like I'm rooting for one of these guys to miss games,
so it doesn't make us look like we wasted time
talking about these stories all off season. It's like, you know,
people were busting my balls because we're talking about Brandon
Ayuk every day. It's like, what do you want to
talk about that weirdo breakdancer from the Olympics. Like, I mean, listen,
(31:46):
this is football, NFL's king, and if Jamar Chase holds out,
I think it's better conversation for us. Although it feels
like those that just doesn't happen nowadays in the.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
NFL, like they all show up.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
They always show up. I say it all the time.
That's why I don't get so caught up at all
these these you know, when he's not there, Brandon, I
you didn't show up, like you said. It's all they
talk about all summer. Trent Williams is not there. They
all show up because they know they have to get
that money. They have to get this earning. Again, the
life expectancy of an NFL player is not very long,
(32:18):
So get it when you can get it, and you're
not going to leave that money on the table. So
I wouldn't be astounded if if all of them show up, including.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Reddick Pte Prisco with us here on Fox Sports Radio.
So let me ask you about the planning behind this
Brazil trip, because now you've got Eagles players that are saying,
you know, we don't want to go. Darius Lay saying
I don't want to go. It's so restricted. We obviously saw,
you know, they're talking about the crime rates out there.
We obviously saw what happened with Ricky Pearsall in San Francisco.
(32:48):
And so they're flying out tomorrow, the games on Friday,
and then they've just got to come back on a
ten hour flight and just continue on with the season.
I mean, the Eagles get, you know, a little bit
of a break because they play on Monday night and
Week two but the Packers are playing the very next Sunday.
It's just and we're kind of thrown out, like how
(33:09):
could you have made this better? If they're trying to
grow the game, like why not do this in the preseason.
It does feel like now that it's here, it doesn't
seem like the most ideal spot for those teams to
be in. From a logistical standpoint, well.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
I mean, it's probably no different than what you do
in the you know, when you go to the overseas
games in Europe, I mean they're very similar. You know this,
at least you get that extra day because it's on
a Friday. I mean, you do get a little extra time.
So sometimes teams, you know, nowadays they have the choice
of taking to buy after you play in overseas, and
a lot of teams have passed on that and play
(33:42):
the next week. So I'm with you though, but that
this is all the big picture to grow the game.
I mean, players be damned, teams be damned. The NFL
wants to grow the game internationally and that's why they
do this. Is it fair to the players? Probably not.
Is it tough on the players, you bet? But I
mean as far as once you get on the field
to go play the game. Now the other stuff, those
(34:03):
guys not wanting to, you know, be a part of
what's going on because of the crime in the city.
I mean, hey, some of our cities are filled with crime.
Look what happened. And like you mentioned with having a
Ricky Piersol in San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Yeah, it's that's a terrible situation. I mean, afternoon, three
thirty in the afternoon, guys leaving a signing, goes to
go shopping and somebody pulls a handcannon on him, like
trying to get his role X, Like what do we do?
Speaker 7 (34:27):
Terrible? Yeah, terrible, But here's a message, Ricky, give it
to him.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Right, that is true?
Speaker 4 (34:36):
I mean you did.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah, somebody comes.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Up to me.
Speaker 7 (34:39):
If somebody comes up to me with a with a
gun and says, I want your watch, here, you go
anything else you need?
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Wait, isn't bad.
Speaker 7 (34:48):
I mean it really is. It's a terrible situation. Then,
thank god, Ricky Piersol's fine. Thank god.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
All right, So we got to know because the NFL
season is here, do you got a Super Bowl pick?
Do you have a surprise pick? Like, what's the one
that took the most balls? To make that. Brady's gonna
be harping on the entire year if it goes poorly
for you, which is the.
Speaker 7 (35:09):
One, well, it's the game itself, because they'll probably rip
apart both of them. I picked the Packers the Pizza Bills.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
In the Super Bowl. Yes, oh okay, all right, Look,
I could have.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
Gone Chalky with the Chiefs, and I just think three peatings.
There's a reason it hasn't happened in the Super Bowl era.
I mean, it really is. It's hard to do, and
it might be a better team than they were a
year ago because their offense is going to be better
than it was most of the last season, but it's
so tough Jose to get that make it happen. Everybody's
gunning for you, and I think the a SE's loaded somebody.
(35:44):
You know, the Chiefs will probably end up with the
number one t but somebody go in there and beat them,
and that's what I think ultimately happens. And I have
it playing out. I've actually played it out where the
Jets get in the postseason, beat them at Arrowhead, Aaron
Rodgers has a big day, and then they go to
Buffalo and lose to the Bills. That's how I play
that out. And the Packers I think are the most
slept on team of everybody. You know, it's all the Lions,
(36:05):
it's all the Bears, it's the Eagles and the Cowboys
and the Niners. But the Packers showed last season that
they were a bunch of young kids that really didn't
know what they were doing until the end, and at
the end they probably should have beat the forty nine ers.
And I think that experience will let those young players grow.
But more than that, you get Jeff Hafley on that
defense to change the way they play, and they're going
(36:27):
to be a four to three team, much more aggressive,
much more bump and run. They've added some players like McKinney.
I think the defense is going to be the biggest
difference with the Packs.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
So you've got the Bills getting in the way of
an Aaron Rodgers and Jets versus Packers. Super Bowl.
Speaker 7 (36:41):
Yeah, by the way, can you imagine can you imagine
New Orleans if it's Buffalo and Green Bay in the
Super Bowl? Could you imagine what that town was?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Oh my god, Yeah that it's going to be. Yeah,
Bill's mafia. We'll make their presence felt for sure.
Speaker 7 (36:58):
The horrible thing about that is I got them losing
to the Packers. Can you imagine those going to the
Super Bowl again and losing.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Oh that's terrible. Yeah, I mean, but I see I'm
torn on the Bills because I look at it and
I go, well, yeah, they've lost a lot. You know,
Stefan Diggs has gone, and you kind of made the
point like that's audition by subtraction, and I'm I'm kind
of wondering if while everyone's looking the other way and
they're talking Rogers and Jets and they're talking Dolphins and
(37:25):
it's feel good for Tua and he got paid and
everybody got paid, and McDaniel got an extension, and the
Bills are just kind of sitting there as being the
most consistent team in that division over the past several years.
And I wonder if maybe this is the year with
all the Josh Allen is overrated talk, that the Bills
come back and remind everybody why they are who they are.
Speaker 7 (37:43):
Feel Yeah, and that doctor Allen talk is stupid. I mean,
it's just dumb. But everybody talks about what they lost.
They lost so many guys last year that by the
time the end of the year came around, the defense
was decimated. Day Kwon, Jones' best run stuffer not there.
Matt Milana, he's hurt again, but he wasn't there. The
Tredavious White went down earlier season. Poyer and Hyde were
(38:05):
banged up all year and so they Von Miller were even.
He even told me he's a show of himself, and
so they're going to be that much better on defense.
And then offensively. Okay, they don't have stuff on Diggs,
but he didn't do anything in the last ten games
of the season, and they've changed the way they play
offensive balls. Getting out quicker and not having him is
(38:25):
not going to be a problem. So yeah, this is
Anybody who thinks the window is shut on the Buffalo
Bills is crazy.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Get him on x at Prisco, CBS Pte Prisco, senior
NFL columnists for CBS Sports, ACBS Sports HQ analyst. Pete
always fun. We appreciate it. We'll do it again next week.
Speaker 7 (38:43):
All right, Brady and LeVar, you can come out of
the bucker now.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Josh so gone into hiding, fearful of the great. Pete
Prisco always a fun conversation with Pete here from the
ti Raq dot Com studios
