Speaker 1 (03:40):
If you can watch something and not be able to
hear it, you know that joint is interesting. It's so weird, man,
it's very weird.
Speaker 6 (03:48):
But by the way, good news for Billy Napier maybe
not good news for Florida fans. So Florida's athletic director
Scott Strick announce on Thursday that they are sticking with
Billy Napier as head coach and apparently some of the
stuff that's come out.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Pete Thamill was one of the people.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
That reported this, but that you know, the buyout would
be significant, but also that there's a ton of money
nil money tied to freshmen and sophomores as the reasoning,
and they're pretty optimistic about that those two classes, and
so they don't want to have to lose on. I
think it's like, you know, seventy percent tied to those
freshmen and sophomore. They don't want to have to feel
(04:30):
like they're going to have to replace all that if
they move on from Billy Napier because of those relationships.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
How does that work in nil if a kid leaves
because their coach leaves, but yet they have nil money
that has been paid to them, how does that work
do to the deliverable?
Speaker 5 (04:50):
There's two parts of this conversation.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
So the first is, yes, there's always a concern if
a coach gets fired, it opens up that window.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
For the transfer portal.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Now, well, if you're going to do it, you'd want
to do it towards the end of the season where
that window is going to open up anyway. But you'd
hopefully then have that next head coach whoever it is,
almost ready and waiting. It's just a very very hard process,
So that's that's always a concern.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Though the timing of.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
This has more to do with the payouts that are
coming in twenty twenty five that the school is now
going to be on the hook for along with what
would be a buyout as well. That's more of the issue.
It's not necessarily just losing a freshman and sophomore class
that looks promising. That's a concern, but again it's more
about the fact that you've now got to pay over
(05:38):
twenty million dollars two student athletes from this house NCAA settlement,
and so you're coming up with the funds for that
along with trying to run an athletic department.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
So there's obviously a budget that goes along with that.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
And then you've got to have a donor who's going
to want to write it. I guess I don't want
to say a blank check, but he's to have to
write a check for whatever the buyot is. And those
three stressors could set you back in a major way
as opposed to sticking with Billy Napier, who let's say
what you want. I understand. You know they're loss to
(06:13):
Miami to start the season. It left a lot of
Gators fans like, you know, is this.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
What's this team even capable of?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
But literally look through their schedule, no one's played a
more difficult schedule. People who are like Southern Califounds are like, oh,
our schedule has been sold.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
You know it hasn't.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Your schedule is nowhere close to Florida. Okay, they're playing
a team that's gonna be playing for the ACC to
start the year in Miami. They lost forty one to
seventeen to them. They beat the doors off Sanford, and
then they play Texas A and M, who's a team
that's now ranked, and they get.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Beat thirty three twenty to them.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
They beat Mississippi State, they beat UCF, two teams they
should beat and they did. Then they go to Tennessee.
They lose an overtime. Okay, it's a tight game to
a team that's also ranked top ten. Then you go
to Kentucky. You beat Kentucky as you should. Okay, now
you're playing one of the top teams number three overall
in Georgia.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
They lose to them.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
But it was a tight game for a while, in
particular in the first half. Here's the difficult part for
Strickling coming out and saying this is they still have
to play at Texas this week. Then they play LSU
the following week, then they play Old Miss the next week,
then a rivalry game versus Florida State.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
So, if we're being realistic, this team's.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Not going to be Bowl eligible, they're probably going to
win one more game the rest of the season. Now,
if they do win a couple of games and they
get to a bowl game with this schedule at this
point in time in Billy Napier's tenure, given that they
you know, Mertz ended up moving on from him. DJ
Lagway got hurt last game, but he looks very promising
(07:42):
for them at the quarterback spot for the future. If
they're just able to win two games the rest of
the way, that is a monumental victory for Gators fans.
And I know they don't want to hear it, but
that is the truth. Given the daunting schedule that they
have played. What is that one, two, three, four, five, six,
seven teams that have been ranked. It's ridiculous the schedule
(08:04):
they've had to play this year.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
And I would have thought that it would have been
ridiculous if they had lost to like Georgia Tech first
in Ireland or something to that effect, or then ended
up losing to uh, you know, Miami at some point
during the season.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Their November schedule might be the most difficult I've ever
I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, okay, yeah, following me, like there, who play? Who
played Georgia Tech for the first game of the season
this year? Florida State? Okay, because I thought that Florida
State was sticking with Billy Napier White. But who's the
head coach of Florida State then, Mike Norvale.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I don't know. I was just looking at my rundown
and I was like, college Football Home, We're going to
lead off the show with f SU sticking with Billy Napier.
Big games, baby, big game, big games.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I was. I was just I was well for the
first time ever.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Like you, you showed that you were tired, like you
do know we're talking about Florida State, right, you know?
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Hey, I took a break. I took a break off
all of that.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
After yesterday's Debaca Betree and Lee and Jonas and Jonas
getting defensive on the air, I was like, nope, you
can have it.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
How did I get defensive? I don't understand what happened.
I still don't understand what happened yesterday.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Your sensitive and you don't like what people call you
out on.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I don't know, dude.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
We're moving on.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Okay, No, No, you can't make an accusation and then just
walk away from it. You don't start a fire without
putting it out. Okay, there was no sensitive. I don't
still don't know what happened.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
You're still talking about it.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Yes, you brought it up. I don't know what happened.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
We're talking about what's on the rundown. And that's what
I told you. I was giving up on trying to
make that thing work at this.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Well, clearly Billy Napier doesn't coach at FSU SO and
you can't sticking with Billy Napier.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
It does bring up the point though, as far as
Florida State, stick with Mike Norvell. Yes, it's not about
the younger classes and whatever Jonah said, right, it has
them do more with this payout that's looming for every
school in twenty twenty five, and what they're worried about
is having to pay out those monies, having to come
up with the funds also not only just to pay
(10:20):
the student athletes and have for they're configuring that, but
all the other resources that you need to put in your.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Athletic department at this point.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
So there's a financial strain on all these athletic departments,
and I think early on right now they're trying to
be patient about what they're trying to take on.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
It's like being on a ship.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
And having multiple holes and waters filling. You get to
figure out which ones to plug and which ones you
can get by to try to find.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
A way of getting the shore to get the safety
for a.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Little bit so you can pass this thing up and
have more stable ride moving forward.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
A man, Well, there you go.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I would have loved have been all in on queues commentary.
I just could not get past the hit line and
how it was typed out, I know, And the response
was to be please world party time.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
It was more than two. Can you admit that?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I wish I could, I really do. Yeah, don't bring
up don't bring up a sore spot please.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
You know he's down.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
It was a bad day yesterday. Yeah, that was a
bad day. Well because I only had two.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
There's that. And you guys didn't sell your place yet.
Have you thought about dropping the price? It's okay. Have
you thought about dropping the price after one day?
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I mean I've thought about it.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
I thought about it before today, but yeah, yeah, something
to talk about.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It's a nice spot.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Do you have to get clearance on dropping the price
before you tell the realder?
Speaker 5 (11:54):
No?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
I could do it whenever I want, can you? Yeah?
I'm the boss, are you though? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (12:05):
By the way, Lee, we did find this. You've mentioned
this before in the show several times. Prestige Liquors. Oh yeah,
all right. It got one point eight stars on yelp.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, that is unfortunate.
Speaker 7 (12:18):
Yeah, and I read the reviews and it's mostly because
of the uh uh good friend of mine Eric.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
All right, Well, when you see him today, would you
tell him at least?
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
I will let Eric know. Why are you being so
dismissive about it.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
I just feel like, at least give him the heads up, like, hey, man,
like your your behavior is a little out of line.
Speaker 7 (12:39):
He's a little unprofessional. But that's what I love about them.
It keeps it real.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Is that what it is? How would you describe unprofessional
in a liquor store?
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (12:52):
The stories he would bring up is u his personal
views on any particular topic of the day, and no,
who was in line? Like you couldn't get away from him?
There'd be a line of people behind you, and he
would stop. He would stop and try and talk to you.
I'd be walking out the state.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
Lee, He's got to talk to someone people.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
He's not here anymore. Cute, so you got to use
it in past tense. From what I gather, he's not
even hair anymore.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Wait did he pass? Yeah? Eric?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
God bless Eric. When did this happen unexpectedly?
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Damn? Was he sick?
Speaker 1 (13:28):
It's impacted leaves life, man, it has you know, major Lee.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Maybe he was trying to talk to you to give
out his like last life lessons and things.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
I'll take those. I'll take those, then I'll pass those.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
Al I'm saying, I.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Mean, you're you're just trying to get your tall boys
to get the hell out of him.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
He's trying to pour himself into you.
Speaker 7 (13:48):
Oh, I think everybody got a good taste of what
Eric was putting out.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Can you give me an idea? Can you give me
an example of what you're talking about? Though?
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Like, what did he read their YELP reviews sending I'm
not going to read the yell I could care less.
What did he say to you that where you were like,
all right, this is a little too much.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
It was an who was he so abrasive?
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Who's the woman who.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Attacked her husband and threw something out the window?
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Low rain, Bob, Yes, you're a situation, he would say. Yeah,
he would cares, he would tell stories about it. But
like in front of my mom, who gets a damn
if you said her?
Speaker 5 (14:25):
Right?
Speaker 1 (14:25):
So you just remember so he was a he was
a raunchy guy.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
He was a raunchy comic in front of a younger audience, will.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Say, older, mom, with you at the liquor store happens
all the time.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Happens all the time. Yeah, you freak with the liquor
stores your mom?
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Wyt you not judge how they spend Christmas together? Okay,
enough's enough.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Leise Rabbin hole gets deeper and deeper every flipping day.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Bro Hey smokes cigarettes?
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yeah? Do y'all?
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Do? Y'all?
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Do you smoke cats together? Why not you go to
the liquor store together?
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Yeah? But I don't smoke.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
You've smoked cigarettes. I have smoked cigarettes. I usually smoked
cigarettes with a.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Uh, with a beer drink with the outside.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Yeah, with the person outside should not be your mom.
I'm not smoking with my mom. Yeah, Okay, so you're
very cheesy. No, you are very choosy, Lee, I see
with how you do things, very very choosy. All right, Hey,
(15:37):
I don't smoke unless I see somebody that's interesting to me. Yes,
and my mom does not fall into that category.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
About this guy dying.
Speaker 7 (15:48):
I was, I'm close enough that it was the day
of and we were all looking for him. He didn't
show up to work and that wasn't like Eric.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
So you were the catalyst of finding out that he
was no longer here.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
Yeah, what do you mean we were all looking for him?
Like what you do? You walked around the back alley
like he was part of a cult.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
He was in his fantasy league. I didn't set his roster.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
He's part of a cult. I mean, how did you
look for Eric?
Speaker 7 (16:14):
I wasn't part of the search party. But you said
we looked for him his friend. His friends did find him?
You said he was your friend. Yeah, he's a friend,
So you did or you didn't look for him? Did
you not for him or not?
Speaker 5 (16:28):
No? I did not.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
I was late to the party. You just I was
late to the search party. So when they said they
informed you that they were looking for him, because yeah,
I hadn't seen him.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Based on you being a part of the search party,
I would imagine everyone's buzz is trying to look for someone.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Probably the most effective way of finding.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Eric actually didn't drink.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
The search party started at six fifteen Happy hour ago.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Seven.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
All right, you got pot party.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
I know it doesn't matter if Eric drank or not.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
It's the fact that apparently everyone else Eric talked to drank,
so all his friends might have been drinking.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
It was actually a little bit of a video game
nerd didn't smoke or didn't drink.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
All he did was smoke.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
He smoked cigarettes, That's all he did, not we cigarettes.
I think he smoked we too. But all right, God
bless you Eric forty two, he's smoking the Lord's lettuce now.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Advicely you'd like to share that Eric told you about anything.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
No, I wouldn't share anything that Eric had to say.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
My parlor Maera.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Oh my gosh, I'm telling you the lat We used
to joke about him being the most interesting.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Dude man like.
Speaker 7 (17:40):
He's I'm actually sending you guys some reviews right now?
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Lee, is is you a different dude?
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Can we do a live remote from Christie's liquor please.
That would be fantastic right next to the pop off aisle.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
We could do that.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
I tend to disagree, but all right.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
All right, coming up next here from the tire rack
dot Com Studios. I'll be honest with you here there's
somebody on this show. I'm not real big on their
attitude today. I'll tell you this right now.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
This is how you're doing. We want to start.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
We need to start clearing some things up here on
this show.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
You want me to call in a is that what
you want me to do? You can just tell the
truth of one. You don't need to call in bro.
Enjoy he always he always wants to do the gag.
It's not enjoying. I gotta get on a flight.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, and we'll enjoy your travels like take that.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
I can.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
I can try calling you guys when I'm in the
airports and all the chaos.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Sweet no, no for us who know your struggles. Enjoy
your flight, bro, Bro. We got yesterday, quick story.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
So I ended up having like the hardest time. There's
more rush hour traffic than I anticipated. Had a hard
time finding a parking spot. So I'm one of the
last ones onto the plane and there's obviously no room
to put my bag anywhere, but you know, I have status,
so they upgrade me and all that. So they went
to gate check it. Well, the dude who came down
(19:09):
didn't want to gate check it. So I'm sitting there
listening to the flight attendant. He was like arguing on
my behalf. She was extremely sweet, awesome, awesome lady, but
this guy was basically too lazy to want to have
to take it down to gate check it. So you
just wanted to kind of normally check it to go
to the baggage clan. And this flight attendant was like
fighting on my behalf for it, and she's like talking
(19:30):
to the pilots and they're like, yeah, we're not leaving
for fifteen minutes. We're fine, we have time for this,
and they were having it out right in front of us.
And so I'm sitting there like slowly backing into the
hedges like that meme, like I want no part of this.
I don't want people to think I'm delaying the flight.
But I couldn't even get like a word in, so
I just kind of slowly backed up and like let
(19:51):
those two argue. But it was the most ridiculous conversation
because then there was another guy who got involved and said,
well he thought he was told the bag was too big,
but it's like a small carry on, so that wasn't
the case. And then she started ripping into that guy.
It was just didn't everything blew up besides the plane?
Obviously I was taking off, but but obviously it was
(20:12):
like way more complicated than it needed to be.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
And at that point I.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Was just like I should just go home, Like I'm
not even gonna take this flight. I'm gonna wait till
tomorrow reset try to do this whole thing again.
Speaker 6 (20:21):
That's one of the perks would be in a celebrity
man like you know people.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
That has nothing to do with it. You did nothing
to do.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
You didn't say do you know who I am? Because
I heard people there at the airport that that's what happened.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
You know what, though there was you know what it
would Here's here's the tough part.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
There was a guy across the aisle who's like, oh,
he just goes, that's what he said. He goes he's
just mad because he didn't go to Ohio State. And
I kind of I kind of turned over and looked
at the guy and I go, yeah, well I could
have went to Michigan too.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
I was like, how the last three years been.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
The guy kind of looked at me and he just
put his head down like turned.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
I was like, yeah. I was like, you can shut up,
all right. This has nothing to do with it that.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
In the flight attendant's defense, it appeared as if the
gentleman who didn't want to go get the bag was
rather out of shape. It seemed as if he just
didn't really want to have.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
To make the walk. Take that walk. Yes, yeah, yes,
every step matters when you're big.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Man.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I'm telling you I'd live that that struggle every day.
Every step matter.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Jesus Christ, are you doing this again to the whole beast?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Every every step matters, man, I'm telling you are not obese.
Every once in a while, I be counting out, like
the steps I gotta take, like dang, I gotta leave
big noon stage, I gotta go here. Then I gotta
go fill your obese. I mean, I'm overweight, man, I
just saw you the zero truth of that. I'd be
working on it, man, I work on myself.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
Man.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, you look great, Thank you. I appreciate y'all. Giving
me like the moral support, you know, but i'd be working.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
I mean, I'm being honest like I tell you. I
mean like I mean all to see like Lee, we
gotta get you working out.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Jesus.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Dang lead back to you.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Great, thanks guys, I mean, Lee, I love you.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
You got twinkle toes. We got to see you move.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Definitely has the twinkle toes.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Yeah, I love running around a track just to see
what that would look like.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
That would be interesting to see him run four hundred
meters or maw, that would be interesting at least, sneaky
good athlete.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
He's gotta come.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
He's got to stop running on his toes like that, right,
Like there's a breaking point where you can't no longer
run like that?
Speaker 5 (22:31):
Right? Yeah? I don't.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
Yes, that is correct. I don't always run. I don't
always run like that. Yeah, big calf muscles, I do
must be nice. Hey, you saw Jonas was like sneaky
like supporting you though, did you did you peep that?
Are you'll going to talk about that later? Sneaky athletes?
Sneaky great? Listen did you hear him?
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Hear him showing you something?
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Show everybody supporting them? You do you definitely are supportive, dude,
appreciate it. Why people not support you.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
Back then, I don't know. It's it's it's strange, but
that's all right. You know, I get enough support on Hey. Hey, man,
you're a good looking dude. I appreciate it. Man, you're
a good looking dude.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Thanks man.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Best looking vampire I've ever seen in all the movies
and that counts. In radio.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here

You know what, We're gonna need you to think about
some things, So go ahead and sit this one out.

The attitude here.

All right, So coming yeah, yeah, coming up next here
from the tire rack.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
Yeah, get to that tea, get to the We're going to.
Speaker 6 (23:35):
Tell you how somebody is going to be a little
picky in the NFL apparently coming up this next season.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
It's good tease.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
That'll be yours here on FSR.
Speaker 8 (23:44):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six a m. Eastern three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
We're talking yesterday about potential coaching candidates in Dallas, and
there's more stuff to come out with Dallas that we'll
get to do later in the show. But Adam Schefter
reported this yesterday on ESPN that apparently Ben Johnson, who
is the as far as coordinators go, he's like the
hot commodity right now of the Detroit Lions. He was
(24:19):
the guy who probably could have had the Washington commander's
job and decided he was going to pass on it
and go back to Detroit. And the report that came
out was I felt like there was too many basketball
people running the show there or whatever it was. But apparently,
according to Adam Schefter, Ben Johnson is going to be
very selective when he decides to leave the Lions this offseason,
(24:40):
and he will only interview with the intent of taking
the job. So all these openings that are going to
be taking place, the teams that he interviews with are
the teams that he intends on taking the job with.
He's going to be very very picky about the whole thing,
which probably is what everybody should do, but maybe everybody
doesn't have that luxury to where look Detroit and what
(25:03):
they're building there.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
He could probably stick around there another year or two
and be fine. I mean, why not when you look
at the landscape of coaching at the pro level, if
you have a stable situation, and I think the tale
of caution here ultimately kind of is connected to how
(25:25):
things went down with erb enemy as well.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
And listen, he didn't leave to take a head coaching job.
He left to take a lateral move to be an
offensive coordinator, just not with Andy Reid because of the
things that were being stated about his involvement and how
much of it was based off of him. If you
look at Ben Johnson in his situation, you're you know,
no one is going to sit here and dispute that
(25:50):
Ben Johnson is the one that is calling the plays
and pulling the trigger on the success that Jared Goff
is having as well as this Detroit offense. And so
if I'm in that scenario and this is a team
that is playing at as high level as it is,
if you look at the teams that there, there could
(26:11):
be the possibility of them playing right him or them
them wanting and needing a coach. Does this make sense.
Does it make sense for him to make a move
on a team like the Jets? Possibly? Possibly, But I
(26:32):
would say that's really you have. You have personnel, but
you have a front office that that and and a
track record that would say if you go there, you
may not have the type of success that you know
you could possibly have in a much more stable environment.
If I don't think Cleveland would be one that that
(26:54):
comes up, So I won't put that one up. But
even if Cleveland were to come up, just say, for
the sake of saying Cleveland did happen to come up?
They finish out bad, they want to part way with Stefanski?
Would you want to go there? I think as long
as Deshaun Watson is a part of the conversation, I
think that that is not going to be an attractive
job for a head coach to want to hang their
hat on and try to go get their career started.
(27:16):
So I would say that's a that's probably an out.
If that were an option, let's keep going. Could I
throw on at you?
Speaker 5 (27:23):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Tell me what you think Chicago? I think Chicago is intriguing,
maybe the most intriguing of the ones that if it
were to come available, it would be a that would
be possibly, it would have to be an intriguing opportunity
(27:48):
just because of the youth of Caleb Williams.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
Right, And it feels like like if you went to
the Jets, like, this is my thing with the Jets,
and I just don't know who wants to tie themselves
to Rogers because that's what that's.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
What's gonna happen. Mean, think about that another year. I mean,
do you So here's what's interesting. So I mentioned the Browns.
Do you want to tie yourself to Watson? He probably
want to tie himself to you Bill, all right, So
that's a no. Jacksonville. Would you want to tie yourself
(28:24):
to Trevor Lawrence? That's all right? I mean, I'm I'm
I'm at this point. I'm like no, because if we're
at this point and Trevor Lawrence's career and he hasn't
taken that next step where I sit there and I
can definitively see a pathway forward with success with with him,
then ultimately I'm going to be tasked with coming into
(28:45):
a scenario where I either have to make it work
with him, but if it doesn't work, I gotta go
in a different direction. How is that? How is that
productive for me as a head coach coming into the
scenario of coaching a team. I don't want that drama.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
If you found out that Benji passed on the opportunity
to take the Jags job, that's kind of an indictment
on what he and other people feel about the Trevor.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Well, I mean, why would it not be the truth?
Why would it be an indictment on on Trevor Lawrence.
I think at some point you just got to be
honest about it. Trevor Lawrence has not transitioned into being
a top tier, elite franchise quarterback. That's not what you
would say. Even though it was forced Fat to look
(29:28):
at him that way. He has not lived up to
that potential. And this team has certainly not played up
to the level of being a competitive team. So that's
not an attractive job if you already have a stable
situation like.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Ben Johnson has.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Let's keep going, Uh, Las Vegas may come available available.
Maybe if that were to come available, do you want
that job?
Speaker 5 (29:55):
Yeah? Hell know?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Oh yeah, that's hell no, because it's still back to
what the constant theme has been. What on the first
two teams, I said the quarterback. Yeah, so every single
one you're gonna run into, it's going to be a problem.
Las Vegas. Quarterback, that's a problem, Dallas. I hate to
say it, but quarterback that's a problem. That's a problem.
(30:18):
Not because Dak Prescott isn't good, but now Dak Prescott
is nursing an injury that may keep him out for
who knows how long, maybe the rest of the course
of the season. But at the same time, he has
still not shown that he's that guy that can take
them to the next level. I mean, he just hasn't
for a while now, and he just got paid. So
you got to deal with that New York Giants same
(30:41):
thing quarterback situation. If the Eagles job came available, it
would probably be because Jalen Hurts didn't live up to
what he needed to live up to, right and Nick
Sirianni would have to be the fall guy for it,
and everybody's got to have a fall guy. But that
still would be totally connected to the fact that the
quarterback play wasn't what it needed to be in Philadelphia. Okay,
(31:05):
that would probably be a more attractive one to go
to the Chicago Bears. That's the only one maybe out
of all of them that I would say in terms
of potentially well outside of you know, yeah, Chicago, and
they would have a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (31:21):
And he's gonna see him twice this year, one of
which will be on Thanksgiving and again same with the Jaguars.
If Ben Johnson has an opportunity to take that job
and he passes on the opportunity to take the Bears
job after seeing them twice with Caleb Williams and everything
else they got going on, there kind of an indictment.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
On what's happened. Carolina Panthers rounding out the bottom and
would be the last team that you put on the list,
and what's their issue the quarterback's position. Yeah, every single
one of these teams that are probably facing having to
get another coach. I mean, I think you could kind
of you can make it a push with Dak Prescott
(32:01):
if you really wanted to. But I just think that
the reputation and everything that's connected to the Dallas Cowboys
makes it a very very difficult job to be attractive
to an aspiring head coach. I just think that's a
bad situation to walk into. And so if I'm Ben Johnson,
I'm staying my ass put until one of these jobs
(32:22):
come available. That has the best case scenario. I think
if you're in a type of situation like him, where
it's not volatile and you're not on one of these
teams that we're actually discussing where you might have to
be forced to look for a new job, if you're
not forced into looking for another place to go to
and you can wait it out until it's the proper opportunity,
(32:44):
I think that's what you gotta do.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
It's two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next here, we are going
to have our picks against the spread in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
For Week ten, and they're yours right here on FSR.
Speaker 8 (32:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady quinnl var Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you here coming off top
of next hour. Apparently we are being gas lit in
the NFL. We've got the proof of that for you
potentially here a little over ten minutes from now a reminder,
shortly after the show, the podcast will be going up,
So just search two pros if you've missed any of
this show, and you can find that wherever you get
(33:29):
your podcast, and you'll see today's show posted right after
we get off the air.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
For five lines, not those kind of lines. Five picks,
five spreads. Time for picks against the spread?
Speaker 6 (33:46):
All right, Lee, what are we looking at this week?
This will be doing overall?
Speaker 7 (33:49):
Overall, you guys are neck and neck. Jonas you're twenty
seven to sixteen, and two LaVar you're twenty seven and eighteen,
So just two pushes behind.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
All that.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
How did we do last weekly? You guys both killed
it four and one. Hell yeah? All right, so we're
on a roll here and this week we started a Q.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Did Q give you his picks? No?
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Not yet? All right, come on, go ahead, Yeah, but
we'll get him before before Sunday. And Sunday kicks off
in Munich. Early game.
Speaker 7 (34:21):
Giants are six and a half point favorites versus the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Yeah, they'll cover that. I'm taking the Giants. I'll take Carolina.
Speaker 6 (34:32):
The Giants shouldn't be a six and a half point
favorite against anybody. I'll take Carolina except Carolina. Niners at Bucks.
Niners six and a half point favorites on the road.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
No way, no part will win. But they won't. They
won't cover that. No, take Tampa on this one. Is
that what you say called laying the points? Is that
what it is?
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Oh no, that's uh what is this getting six and
a half? Yeah, they're not gonna win by six and
a half. So what's the lingo for that? That's a
lot you're getting. I'll take the six and a half.
That's what I'm supposed to say. I'm taking the six
and a half. I'll take the six, which means you're
taking Tampa, right, Yeah, yeah, there you go. All right, guys.
Speaker 7 (35:14):
Uh, Steelers at Commanders Commander's three point favorites at home.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
You're gonna be there, bar. I mean, I feel good
about this Commander's team, but it's the Steelers and that's
like a short trip down the road. I'll take the Steelers. Yeah,
I would money line that one. I'm sick of hearing
about Washington. This is a real test for my money line,
the Steelers and money lining it. Yeah, all right, you
(35:42):
got it?
Speaker 5 (35:42):
All right?
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Well, how about this.
Speaker 7 (35:43):
Eagles at Cowboys Divisional game, Eagles seven and a half
point favorites.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
On the road, Eagles seven and a half favorites. I'm
gonna take the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yeah, I'll take Philly cover. It's just Nick Sirianni smells
blood in the water. He's already run his mouth against
Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys before.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Their starting quarterback is out. They already were struggling offensively.
There's no reason to think that.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Rush is pretty decent. I just don't see that happening,
and Mike is back.
Speaker 7 (36:17):
Lions at Texans Sunday night football lines are three and
a half point favorites.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
They just had a heartbreaker Texans. Did I just feel
like this is a bounce back game for them.
Speaker 5 (36:31):
I might.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
I'm money lining them. I'll take Detroit. I'm money lining.
I don't feel great about anything the Texans. All right,
tough week, man. Last week was easy. This is tough.
