the greatest executive producer in all the land, Chatticoni Nakanishi,

(06:32):
to our manhood. If you got some boy talking about
wanting to transition to be a girl, and you can't
figure out because you know, just read them an article
about blowing stuff up. And if that doesn't get them
all fired up, say you know what, you might be
a girl. Go ahead and chomp that thing off. There's
probably no hope for you at this point.

Speaker 8 (06:52):

Speaker 7 (07:20):
Keep your eye on the jailhouse camera because I suspect
mister Ryan Roathe may not make it. He knows too
many things. This is not what they would like you
to believe.

Speaker 9 (07:46):

Speaker 7 (07:46):
We know now in Syria as well. Imagine the discipline
you have to have in your organization to be able
to carry out if we can't, diversity is our strength.
Bull We couldn't pull that off. The United States Intelligence
Services could not pull that off. Chances hemorrhoids twenty five
years Ramona's worked for the company. Never taken a sick

We named it mi gross. What do you mean that's gross?

Speaker 12 (08:14):

Speaker 12 (09:20):
I saw a story they made the world's the strongest
suction cup.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
I'm not sure how they pulled that off. I don't
know if I told your mom, but I saw a
young sheep in a swimsuit driving a sports car. It
was a Lamborghini. To the person who stole my glasses,

(09:51):
I will find you. I have contacts, Adam. You are
on the Michael Berry Show. Welcome, sir.

Speaker 15 (10:02):
Go ahead, mister Barry. How are you doing, sir? I'm
calling you from pong Tech, Korea.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
What in the world are you doing there?

Speaker 10 (10:14):
Oh, it's a job.

Speaker 15 (10:15):
I'm a contractor. I'm over here doing my thing. That's
about it, sir. I'm a big fan of your shelf.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Sir, Well, thank you so your first time, first time
call it. You're in where Korea?

Speaker 10 (10:29):
Peng Tech Korea, next to Camp Country.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
Okay, I know of peong Yang. I don't spell this
for me p y o n G. But what's the
second part?

Speaker 10 (10:44):
Uh tech peong Tech? I can't But where are we here?

Speaker 7 (10:49):
I'm called t A E C T A E C Adam.
Where where do you live?

Speaker 10 (10:55):
Normally san Antonio Tech?

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Have you called the show?

Speaker 10 (11:01):
Be fourth with me.

Speaker 7 (11:05):
I'm going to read to you about that place. I'm
going to read to you about this place, Adam. Peong
Tech is a city in Gyeongi Province, South Korea, located
in the southwestern part of the province. Peong Tech was
founded as a union of two districts in nineteen forty
during the Goryeo dynasty. It was elevated to city status

(11:28):
in nineteen eighty six and is home to a South
Korean naval base and a large concentration of United States troops.
The South Korean government plans to transform peng Tech City
to an international economic hub to coincide with the move
of the US Forces Korea to peong Tech. During the
Korean War, it was the site of an early battle

(11:49):
between US and North Korean forces, the Battle of peong Tech.
It is the location of peong Tech University, all right,
So what do you do there?

Speaker 10 (12:03):
I work for a group. But we just do a
maintenance that's about it.

Speaker 7 (12:07):
So cee, I A.

Speaker 10 (12:11):
Nothing like that. Just we just do maintenance work. That's
about it.

Speaker 7 (12:15):
Do y'all make beepers that get sent to eleven?

Speaker 10 (12:22):
And no we don't. I heard I saw that in news.
No we don't know.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
We I gotta let me see if I can find
this story the.

Speaker 10 (12:37):
I heard about that. That's pretty wild. I was like,
oh my god.

Speaker 7 (12:41):
Yeah, the the uh, the details they went to to
do this. Let's see if I can find it. Uh,
let's see. They're calling it Operation grim Beeper. One of
the most astonishing intelligence operations in history, a reworking of
the story of the Trojan Horse for the digital age,

(13:02):
and it deserves to become nearly as legendary as its
iconic predecessor. If we're not utterly astounded, it is because
we have seen too many James Bond and Black Mirror
movies for our own good. In real life, operations like
this just don't happen. It is at least four operations
in one. First, the Israelis thoroughly mapped Hesbela's supply chain. Second,

(13:24):
they invented a special explosive charge, small enough to be
inserted inside a handheld device, sophisticated enough to be remotely activated,
big enough to do real harm, and yet not so
prominent physically or electronically to call attention to itself. Third,
the Israelis turned themselves into a big enough link in

(13:45):
Hesbela's procurement network to take physical control of the devices
and rig them. Fourth, they activated the charges simultaneously and
across a very wide geographic area. If any one of
these the sub operations had been botched, the operation as
a whole would have fizzled. Who else in the world
could pull off such an imaginative, technological, technically sophisticated, an

(14:09):
audacious plot. It is the first mass targeted killing in history.
Every one of the thousands of persons killed or maimed
was selected individually, yet they were hit at the same moment.
The great genius of the operation is that the Israelis
relied on Hesbela itself to select their targets for them. Because,
if you think about it, they handed Hesbela a box

(14:32):
of pagers, right, and Hesbela said, okay, let's give it
to Let's give it to our guys. They didn't have
to go. They probably didn't know who some of these
people were. It's incredible.

Speaker 10 (14:50):
Wow, Adam there close to your.

Speaker 7 (14:55):
Yeah, it's it's incredible. It it truly is incredible. What
was pulled off? How long are you in South Korea?

Speaker 15 (15:09):
For a few months and then I'll travel off. I've
been traveling around.

Speaker 10 (15:13):
The world for a while.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
How's the food.

Speaker 10 (15:21):
Good? Actually, Korean food is pretty good. It's really good.
Me we leave the States from Korean food and come
to career case.

Speaker 15 (15:28):
The actual food, it's pretty good, pretty pretty good, been
pretty pretty good.

Speaker 10 (15:36):
I mean, bud, I don't think.

Speaker 7 (15:37):
You'll find What time is it there?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
It is.

Speaker 10 (15:46):
Ten twenty six pm.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
Oh, well, fascinating. What does he have the lot of numbers?
Why would he have a lot of numbers? Oh, because
they already announced its numbers. Oh that's brilliant.

Speaker 14 (16:01):
Ramon, that's some time traveling. That's some hoodit leveled thoughts. Wow,
that's incredible, that's really something. Let's go to Sean Sean.
You're on Michael Berry Show.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
Go ahead, sir, mister Barry.

Speaker 16 (16:19):
I am just concerned that.

Speaker 17 (16:23):
Trump, although he should win and normally would win.

Speaker 16 (16:30):
In America years gone past. The Democrats are going to
install just enough illegals in specific states, and I'm thinking
of Pennsylvania, maybe Michigan, Wisconsin, maybe even Georgia. I'm not

(16:51):
so worried about Texas because we have a great attorney
general and Ken Paxton's actually doing his job. And I'm
also telling all my friends and family, I always go
to early voting.

Speaker 10 (17:05):
I don't wait for election day.

Speaker 16 (17:07):
I normally vote at the end of October and get.

Speaker 7 (17:13):
That out of the way.

Speaker 16 (17:14):
But you know, my parents immigrated from another country.

Speaker 10 (17:19):
And we had to wait twelve and a half years
to get to this great nation.

Speaker 17 (17:23):
That so yeah, that's that's all I want to say
is I won't be shocked. I mean true, clearly one
is fine, but Biden and I think the sing.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Is going to happen like Marcoberry shock.

Speaker 7 (17:45):
Well, the corn Road Colemandante has three top aids under indictment.
She's left the county on at least one occasion allegations
of more to go to the been without telling anybody.
She had a public health director who has been caught

(18:12):
in a kickback scheme. Same public health director that oversaw
the kickback scheme that has the cornro Comandante's three top
aids under indictment right now with the Attorney General. Her
public same public health director, Barbie Robinson, was involved in
a kickback scheme with California where she would give them

(18:33):
the contract and they would hire her the next day.
What are the chances? And they told her, you just
tell us how much you want to get paid. How
many of you have ever walked into a job where
somebody said, hey, do us this favor with the job
you're at right now without anybody knowing, okay, and then
we'll pay you whatever you think you're owed. Then she
made great money here. And at the same time, once

(18:57):
this whole thing broke, some people.

Speaker 12 (18:59):
In Phoenix said, oh, and I was reading the news
and there's a Barbie Robinson who's the public health director
in Harris County.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
That's where Houston is.

Speaker 12 (19:11):
And it looks just like our Barbie Robinson that we're
paying over two hundred thousand dollars to be assistant public.

Speaker 7 (19:17):
Health director here. Did y'all know that she actually has
a job there, Which makes you wonder which job is
she not showing up to. This is your local government,
It's not just in Harris County. This is what's going on.
You can literally have two high profile, powerful, high paying

(19:37):
jobs in two different cities and neither one of them
know about it. That raises so many questions. Well, in
the middle of all that, the Cornroll coman Dante lead
A hind Aalgo has increased your taxes, and I mean
a massive tax increase.

Speaker 13 (19:57):
Yesterday, Well, Texas is suing Harrison County over its revamped
Guaranteed Income program. It would send five hundred dollars to
selected low income households for eighteen months.

Speaker 11 (20:08):
We thought the program, and we knew the program was
legal when we first created it. They were extremely late
and inconsistent in fighting against it. We then created a
new program to make sure that they no longer had
the claim they were purporting to make. And then they're
saying it's illegal again.

Speaker 13 (20:28):
Well, the controversy commes as judge A dollar Go and
some other commissioners voted to increase property rates. Tax increases
by eight percent on all Harris County residents and ABC
thirteen's rows you in is in downtown Houston with how
much it will cost.

Speaker 7 (20:41):
You and how long it will last? That story all
new at.

Speaker 18 (20:45):
Six the property tax rate will increase from three point
five to eight percent. And just to put this into perspective,
if you are a homeowner with a four hundred thousand
dollars house, it would add about one hundred and sixty
extra dollars in taxes per year. But this would only
be a temporary hike. It would revert back to the

(21:05):
old rate for fiscal year twenty twenty six.

Speaker 9 (21:08):
Now, state law requires that.

Speaker 18 (21:10):
Voters approve a property tax height if a county wants
to raise.

Speaker 9 (21:15):
It by more than three point five percent.

Speaker 18 (21:17):
However, Harris County is allowed an exception this year to
increase the rate to eight percent due to the multiple
natural disasters we've experienced this year. The extra funding will
help pay for damages already sustain and allow the county
the funds to prepare for the next one.

Speaker 9 (21:34):
Today, we heard from residents.

Speaker 18 (21:36):
During public comment who already express opposition to this.

Speaker 19 (21:40):
I am here concerned about the huge tax increase. The
people of Harris County are already struggling with housing costs.
We likely will have more homelessness and crime. I'm asking
you to reconsider this tax increase.

Speaker 20 (21:54):
What we saw, especially during Barrel again, the directo that
there's such a big knee for the county. We're growing
county that has a lot of natural disasters, and so
we needed to do this not only to be able
to recover from the existing storm, but also to prepare.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
For the next one.

Speaker 9 (22:11):
Another thing to know on your November ballot.

Speaker 18 (22:14):
The budget also calls for voters to consider a seventy
one percent flood controlled tax increase. It would cost the
average household and extra sixty dollars per year. If passed,
The measure would add an additional one hundred and thirteen
million dollars to help fund the county's flood mitigation infrastructure.
Reporting from downtown Houston, Rosie Win, ABC thirteen Eyewitness News, that.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
Story from ABC thirteen, and that's exactly what they're going
to use the money for, you know, to prepare for
the next big flood. That's that's that's why they need
all this money. They're going to prepare for the next
big flood. Do you know how many Barbie Robinson's there
are out there? How many Clifford Tatums there are out there?

(22:59):
Rodney Ellis has a net work of these people. This
is what they do. The grifters move from town to
town when they take these positions and when they come
to town, the Houston Chronicle.

Speaker 14 (23:13):
Or write a story about, Oh, look at that, we
got a strong black woman as a public health director.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
And then she uses all the right buzzwords. We're going
to explore diversity and accessibility and new horizons, and she's
going to do things that have never been done. Public
health in this town is going to be better than
it's ever been. And we're going to address the climate change. Oh,

(23:42):
and we're going to have abortions on every corner own.
We're going to empower people, and we're going to collaborate
and have consensus. Oh, all the words that are so important,
we're going to do it. And then a couple of
years later they move on and usually you don't take

(24:04):
them down and send them to prison, but some of
their staffers, because you can sacrifice a staffer to kind
of get to the point here, it's this Silvester Turner's administration.
You bring these grifters in. You remember chas Bono Longoria
that ran the election. It was so bad that even

(24:25):
Lena had allgo had to admit how bad it was.
And that was because she did it in a Democrat
primary and the Democrats were the Democrats who got screwed
were complaining, well, they got screwed because Rodney Ellis was
kicking them out. He wanted his own Democrats in there.
The Democrats weren't doing what he wanted them to do.
He wanted an election commission, he wanted this. He wanted
these judges that would let all the murderers free. And

(24:46):
that's what they're doing now, that's what they're doing all day.
Kim Ogg, who he also targeted and kicked out of office,
her budget has been cut because we don't want prosecutors
to be able to prosecute murderers. And you know duncan.

Speaker 12 (25:02):
Two best uses of the term broke in Robert ro'keane
in this song.

Speaker 7 (25:09):
And remember.

Speaker 12 (25:13):
Jerry Klower. Remember Big John. He peeled off the Brogans
and dug.

Speaker 7 (25:21):
His toenails into that tree and headed out, and he said,
shoot up here amongst somebody's got to have some relief.
You remember Brenda Grimsly, They live out in college station.
She they she and her husband come on the on
our trips and wonderful couple. She says. My son has

(25:42):
been stationed in peong Tech, South Korea for two years
at Camp Humphreys in Peong Tech. He is the marine
liaison to the Korean Marines. We're going to there. We're
going there to see him in a couple of months, sorry,
a couple of weeks, Simper five Brenda, Well, how nice
is that? So I don't know, three four weeks ago

(26:06):
or so I told you, you know what it was
during the storm because we had to reschedule the canine program.
The Houston Police Foundation administers the canine program, and you
can sponsor a dog. It's usually a German Shepherd or

(26:27):
the two they use, or German Shepherd and Belgium malnwaw.
And so I said, Matt Brice told me about the event,
and I said, well, how much is it? Thirty five
hundred bucks, I'll sponsor a dog. And he said, good,
I'm sponsoring a dog too. So we were supposed to.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
That.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
They were I can't remember how many dogs. It was
going to be twenty five dogs something like that, twenty
twenty something dogs. So they sent the email and you
picked your dog. So I sent it to my kids
and my wife and I said, pick dog you want,
and that's the dog that we have officially sponsored. We
doesn't you know not like the dog is coming to

(27:06):
the house to fight with George. But so everybody got
busy and I forgot to pick our dog. So I
get an email from the nice people at the Houston
Police Foundation, Kelly Wallace. See, if your name is Kelly,

(27:28):
you need to put in there whether you're a man
or woman, because this happens all the time. Now I
go to respond and do I say, sweetheart, you are
too kind or do I not? Because if I don't,
then I feel bad because I call women's sweetheart. But

(27:48):
if I do, and he's like, I'm not a sweetheart
till after five you know what I mean? And then
you know whoa Hey, it's not that kind of party.
So you don't know what you're up against here. So
I got my email. You want to hear it. This
is from Kelly, But I don't know if Kelly's a
man or a woman, and that's kind of bugging me
right now. Good morning. We are so excited that you're

(28:11):
sponsoring an HPD canine. We had a very successful event
at Federal American Grill and we only have one dog left.
I'm attaching a photo of Boxy and his handler, Jeffrey
Michael Jeffrey Michael. What You're not gonna give me his
last name? Jeffrey Michael. What I think that's the dude's

(28:33):
whole name. How are you going to be named Jeffrey Michael?

Speaker 12 (28:38):
Anyway, it looks like a badass, looks like a guy
that probably served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Anyway, she said,
I'm attaching a photo of Boxy and his handler, Jeffrey Michael.
Boxy is a beautiful and very friendly Belgian mountwall Well, okay.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
That's a problem. I don't want a very friendly dog.

Speaker 12 (28:57):
I want a dog that would some bad dude is
causing a problem and.

Speaker 7 (29:01):
You let Boxy go that Boxy is a very mean dog,
a nice dog. We gotta go up and lick them.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
You know.

Speaker 12 (29:10):
People think that George when they come to the house,
like let me put Georgia away, and no, they think
they're gonna walk up and George is just gonna.

Speaker 7 (29:17):
Start licking them. Boxy will be eight years old on
September thirtieth. Officer Michael is the lead trainer for the
Canine Unit. He's a huge fan of your show and
he's looking forward to meeting you. Huh, how about that?
How nice is that ramon Jeffrey Michael. You know people

(29:37):
are waiting on his last name. That's gonna be your
huh Hi, I'm Jeffrey Michael. Okay, I'm Michael Christian. We
just we're on a first and middle name basis only anyway,
so we don't get to choose our dog. We get
the dog that's left. But if he's the head of
the canine Union, I'm figuring he's probably got he probably

(29:59):
got extra stroke, right, like we could occasionally sick our
dog on people that didn't do something too bad, you
know what I mean. Hey, Jeffrey Michael, Shit, I got
jay Walking over Look at that dude, jay Walking. Let
him go, and then we'll train boxing where I get
to control Boxy too, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,

(30:19):
that'll be cool. Box He's got like a bulletproof vest
on him, a greenish, you know, military style bulletproof vest
like like the catch dogs and the bay dogs and
the strikers out on uh out on the if you
if you go hog hunting with the with the knives

(30:39):
of the bay dogs and all that he's got. He's
wearing that whole outfit. So don't even try to stab
boxy because he's already covered up. Let me tell you something,
this this is a good looking dog. I'm gonna send
you a picture of this dog. This is a good
looking dog. He's got very piercing brown eyes. I gotta

(30:59):
find out if I can post this picture because I
don't want to post a cops picture without his approval.
That's that's not right. I think me and him's gonna
be good buddes. I'm gonna come up with a new
last name for him, Jeffrey Michael Johnson Murphy. Oh, speaking
of which, it's our good friend Paul Murphy's birthday today. Yeah,

(31:20):
Paul Murphy. Banking legend in this town started out at
what made you think Murphy, that's funny you said that
started out at what was the Southwest Bank of Texas
before when Walter Johnson started that from Allied Bank Allied Banka,
I think was Allied Bank. So Paul started as a

(31:40):
little kid from Mississippi at Allied Bank. Then they formed
Southwest Bank of Texas where he rose to probably president
there maybe, and then that became AMAGY and then he
left and started with Mark Shapiro and a couple other guys.

(32:02):
Cadence Bank, which is still going strong today. He has
since left there, but he's a dear friend of mine
and anyone who is a Paul Murphy friend, there are
many reasons to be Paul Murphy's friend. He's a good friend,
He's there when you need him. He's an interesting cat.
But the highlight of being his friend is that every

(32:23):
year because he's a graduate of I believe it's Old
miss not Mississippi State, but it's one of the two
in Mississippi. I get them mixed up. Is you get
this big cheeseball and people that went to a lot
of people that went to that university will send you,
like is their annual gift. The university's famous for his
big cheeseball. You know those little bitty cheeses that have
the kind of the red casing on them, and they're

(32:44):
in the mesh the little Yeah, Like the mesh is
the lingerie for that little cheese? What that is? Anyway?
I'm to ask him if I could post a picture

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
