Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's that time time, time, time, Luck and load.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
The Michael Verie.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Show is on the air. The more we know, the

(00:39):
worse it gives. Here is a story a whistleblower talking
to Josh Hawley about illegals getting long term disability so
they get Social Security for life. It's a whistleblower testifying

(01:04):
before the Senate and he says that they were incentivized
to get these people on government programs that they would
stay on for the rest of their lives. It's so
much worse than you imagine, folks.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
They wanted us to try to identify them in such
a way that they would qualify for long term sub
security disability now yeah, and long term security disabilities for life.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
So if they get identified and qualify for long term
sub security disability, they are as good as set up
for life for medical treatment.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
That doesn't sound like a refugee to me, just being honest.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
That sounds like somebody who's planning on staying here, just
stays until the problem's over and.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Then goes, oh, well, that's right. And so.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
They instructed us to try to identify to try to
get the client because once they arrive here where they're
now called clients.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
They're called clients.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Imagine that. Imagine that we're gonna like like we're a
business and they're our customer, but instead there are people
who are breaking in here and taking what you're paying for,
which you're entitled to.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Sure, and so so.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
They told us that we needed to talk to the
client and ask them if they had any uh, headaches,
recurring headaches, or any lower back problems, excuse me, anything
that would qualify them for so Security long term disability.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Wait wait ho wait wait wait, so let me get
this straight.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Part of the screening is supposed to be are you sick, maimed, injured, whatever?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Right, Okay, good, you can come in, you get on
the airplane.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Are you sick, maimed, injured, whatever, Yes, good, so we
can give you disability correct what, Yes, this is insanity.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yes, it is insaney.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
But in order to get Social Security disability benefits, don't
you need a Social Security number?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Well we are.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
We were instructed in the meeting that one of the
first things we were supposed to do was sign them
up for Social Security.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Okay, hold on, hold on, remo, want you to listen
very carefully. They are telling these people this is what
we want you to do. This isn't a rogue employee.
This is a whistleblower saying we were instructed to do this.
This is the great replacement theory. This is bringing in
people from third world countries to put them on the

(03:32):
government role, to get them to vote for the government
that you would never be able to defeat. After this,
you'd be out there. You're stuck.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah, wait, this is unbelievable. So they come over here
and they get a soci Security number, right, they become.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Legal, correct, Paul.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
My leg No I'm not.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
And then after we process them for Social Security cards,
then we were to process them for a US passport.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
No, you're not.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
So that's about the time I kind of decided, Okay,
I was done. I've heard everything I want to know.
I was so angry about this that they would receive
a US passport.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
It just, you know, I just couldn't believe it.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I couldn't believe that we were giving these people so
Security cards and US passports and free medical, free housing,
free food, free everything.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
But this is the thing that bothers because the food
we can recoup from and the money irritates me, but
we can earn it back and we can stop the
program or whatever it is. But once you give somebody
a Social Security number and you give them what considered
globally the Golden Ticket, which is a US passport, right.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
That is beyond comprehension that we're doing this. That's right.
Do bureaucrats know this is happening?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Well, interestingly enough know they don't. A lot of governors
are unaware of how many refugees have come into their state,
where they're located, under what conditions they've arrived. And I
believe this is intentional. I believe this is intentional. Now
we do know that the governor of Texas and the
governor of Tennessee have both stopped this and they're refusing

(05:21):
to take any more refugees. In fact, federal government has
filed a lawsuit against both of those states because they're
refusing to take any.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
More refuge How dare you keep your people safe?

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Right?

Speaker 4 (05:33):
But okay, so let's just say all the states are
saying we want to pull out of this refugee resettlement
program from the federal government, then they're fine, right, there's
no other way the refugees are getting in.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Well, no, hold on, you realize that before those The
only way we could ever find anything was from a whistleblower,
and people were scared to death to speak out. What
those you're showing is the dollars and cents she's telling
you the story of is how it actually went down.

(06:04):
The dollars and cents can't account for this. Those can
only give you the numbers, and they're staggering, but she's
telling you. Yeah, they told us, Hey, here's what you do.
When the person comes in, you do this. We were
instructed to do this. You know why they called you
conspiracy theorists and racists because they couldn't argue that what

(06:26):
you said wasn't true, and they couldn't argue with you
that you should allow your country, You shouldn't allow yourself
to be replaced by people from third world countries who
they brought here and put on government programs that were
not intended for foreigners who were coming here illegally, and
by giving them a Social Security number, you're enabling them
to work, you're enabling them to benefit from government programs,

(06:51):
and by the way, you're putting them on long term
social security. And you're making very clear all the while
this is the government that Democrats are the government. I'll
play you a clip coming up of the fact that
government employees are so left leaning as our university professors.
By the way, but government employees are left leaning, and

(07:14):
so anything the government does, they want to make sure
that the Democrats stay in power, because the Democrats are
the one that want to take from individuals, whether at
their home or in their business, get it for the government,
and redistribute it amongst themselves. It's not only a simplistic

(07:38):
and diabolical plan, it's genius. It's how you take this
country and destroy it. What our people still struggle with
is but why would they do that that would destroy
the country that they live in. You realize they don't
want this country to succeed. They don't view that as success.

(08:00):
These are people who think that Trump is failing. These
are people who hate to see the doze, They hate
to see the waste uncovered. These are the runts of
the litter. These are not people who work hard and
want success. These are angry, bitter, resentful, evil, awful thieves
and names. Please clap. We can never forget what happened

(08:30):
under COVID and with cash PTEL at FBI, We're going
to learn some things that. I think a lot of
people thought some of us were crazy conspiracy theorists because
the government wouldn't intentionally tell us to take a shot
that might kill us, or that they knew might kill us.

(08:50):
And I think people are frankly shocked now, and they're
going to be more shocked when they find out that
decision makers knew what was happening and chose to hide
it from us, that the experts and the science were
working against us and our naivete This is why I
refer to the biggest problem in America being the nice neighbor,

(09:14):
the naive neighbor who thinks, well, they told us, the
experts told us to take a shot. Yeah, but the
shots are killing people. Well, I just don't believe that
because you don't want to believe it. You don't want
to believe it because confronting that reality would force you
to think independently and not trust, like a wayward oath
of a child. And that's not what you are. You're

(09:35):
not a little waif. You're not a leaf blowing in
the wind hoping for someone to place you safely. Doctor
Deborah Burks, you know this woman was the expert. At
one point, she was part of the White House Coronavirus
Task Force. From February of twenty to January of twenty one,
she was on TV every afternoon. Remember this, This is

(09:57):
clip six twenty four ramon. She told Peers Morgan, the
government botched the COVID response by overlooking early treatments. Do
you know what overlooking early treatment means? Refusing to acknowledge reality.
That's not science, folks, Do you understand this was never

(10:19):
about science.

Speaker 6 (10:22):
I got to travel a country for many months during COVID,
working at the state level and the community level, and
what I witnessed was a lot of undiagnosed disease that
could have been treated early that then resulted in COVID deaths.
And I saw a health system that had cletely deteriorated

(10:43):
in our rural areas. Our rural areas really don't have
access to healthcare anymore. And the hubbn spoke model that
we had set up to get really sick people into
the regional medical centers, they were overwhelmed themselves. So COVID
pointed out a lot of our issues with chronic disease,
like with early HIV. When we started, we were only

(11:05):
treating those with symptoms.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Well, that was the tip of the iceberg.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
When we finally started working and finding asymptomatic individuals and
getting them on treatment early before they had evidence of disease,
they could thrive.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
There was a doctor in Houston named Stella Emmanuel. She
was from Nigeria and she ran a little clinic, probably
still does. Heavy set black woman. She has a diastema
which is a gap in her teeth, which is nothing
wrong with it. My son Crockett was born with one.
He didn't want it, so we got embraces. I thought
it looked cool. But whatever, Yannick Noah had one, I

(11:41):
always thought that was cool. Anyway, Just describing the woman,
she was from Nigeria and she was treating poor patients
at her clinic and having been trained and experience in
Africa where they didn't have the high dollar health system
we have here. They have to and this is true

(12:02):
in India and Ethiopia and a lot of other places.
They have to find ways to treat illness short of
expensive pharmaceutical products that people cannot afford, and you got
the masses that are poor. My wife's mother was a doctor.
She passed when my wife was nine. She was a doctor,
and she ran a medical clinic out of their house,

(12:24):
and so one half of the house was the medical clinic.
The other half was where my wife and her sister
and her dad would be while mom was treating patients,
and she had to find ways to treat people with
homeopathic products, with things that were cheap. And hydroxychloroquin has

(12:45):
been a drug that has been used for a very
long time. It's won all sorts of awards, and in
poor people nations, it's like rice, it goes a long way.
It's a superfood. It's something called Injera in Ethiopia, So
you got a place that is incredibly poor and they
have the most protein rich bread products called a tef

(13:09):
and they make it into what looks like a samosa
or like a pancake, and they use it with their
hands to grab the meat, whatever meat you have. If not,
you just eat sauce. But at least you get protein
out of this grain. And we don't eat it here,
but thank god they have it because it's a life sustainer.
Hydroxy Chloroquine is a life sustainer. And stell Emmanuel was

(13:33):
treating patients who were coming in and scared to death
with COVID with hydroxychloroquin. They made her out to be crazy.
They said she was a witch doctor, and they dug
up this or that that, you know, and when she
was in Nigeria she said this or But she was
saving people's lives. She was part of a group called
Frontline Doctors. And there were these doctors that were out there,

(13:55):
and you know, plenty of them. Mary Tally Boden was one,
Stella Emmanuel was one. There were these doctors Malone McCullough
who were saying, hey, this is what we're experiencing with
our patients. Well, they didn't want them using hydroxychlorical because
it was cheap and Pfizer wouldn't make money off of it.
So here's doctor Simon Gold telling Jordan Peterson why drugs

(14:18):
like hydroxychloroquin were disregarded and vilified. They were made out
to be remember remember ivermectin. They were made out to
be dangerous to human beings. And these were super drugs.
They're cheap, they're plentiful, they're effective with little to no
side effects.

Speaker 7 (14:35):
I'm down against hydroxychloroquin.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Why was that.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Let's lay that oat just briefly, right.

Speaker 7 (14:40):
In real time? It was bizarre people coming out against it.
It's seventy years approved by the FTA, it's completely nine
across the world. It's over the counter.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So those are the reasons.

Speaker 7 (14:48):
It turns out in America, to release the vaccine on
an EUA, the Emergency Use Authorization Schedule, the prerequisite is
that there's no or the other treatment available damning clause.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
If anything else worked it had been preapproved.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
By law, you would not able to release the flat shops.
So starting the middle of March twenty twenty, it was
like poison. You know, people were scared. The chain pharmaceuticals
were instructing their pharmacists not to prescribe it. If a
patient came in, the pharmacists would get a red box
on their screen. So pharmacists at the drug store were
being empowered to interfere with the practice of medicine, which

(15:25):
in America is illegal. They're specifically, by law not allowed
to interfere with the doctor's decision. All day long, that's
all they did. So if you found yourself a doctor
who would prescribe it, the pharmacists blocked it.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
And we saw this in case after case after case.
All the while, what was the President of the United States.
But surely the president wouldn't lie to you, right, Surely
the president wouldn't lie to you. Right. The various shots
that people are getting now cover that you're okay going
to You're not going to get COVID if you have

(15:57):
these vaccinations. I mean, who gets better information than the president.
You're not going to get COVID if you've had these vaccinations,
not even a vaccine. By the way, it was never
approved here as a vaccine. What was approved here was
not delivered here, was not being administered here, and it
never stopped you from getting COVID, and it never stopped
you from passing COVID. And you weren't going to die

(16:18):
from COVID unless you were morbidly obese or very elderly
on the and the cold would have taken the Michael
Verry Show on the subject of what was done. My
brother died during COVID, and I believe it was because
the shot which he had just taken, he was required

(16:39):
to was active duty law enforcement. They were requiring them
all across the country, and a lot of law enforcement.
In fact, there's a whole lawsuit that law enforcement are
assuing over the number of officers who were seriously injured
or killed by that injection. There's a fellow named doctor
Roger Hodkinson. Heard of him before, and he was being

(17:03):
interviewed on something called just Right Media. And the only
reason I play this is the sentiment he expresses is
how I feel. I am not in the mood to
forgive and forget over what happened. You know, Jews don't
just forgive and forget over the Holocaust. They chased those
bastards down and punish them. I am not a forgive

(17:26):
or forget, forgive and forget guy over people who abused
their authority in this country and lied and the lives
that were lost as a result of it. I want vengeance.
I want punishment. I am. I mean, it's old Testament here, folks.
I'm not turning the other cheek on this one. But
listen his sentiment. If you wonder where my head is,
this is how I feel. Shall we forgive and forget?

Speaker 8 (17:49):
Absolutely not. I'm full of vengeance, so I am vengeful.
It's not a time to say I'm sorry, So time
to put these bastards in jail. I'm calling it the
big kill We've seen, the biggest kill ever in medicine's
history directly because of the intervention of these idiots into healthcare.

(18:15):
And it's the physicians. It's not just the politicians, it's
the physicians themselves who are principally culpable because they have
allowed government's jack boots to influence how they manage their patients,
which has never ever happened before. First, do no harm
and informed consent. The physicians have looked in how can

(18:38):
you do this? How can you look into the eyes
of a pregnant woman and tell her that this experimental
product is safe? How can you do that as a physician? No, anyone,
any physician that has done that should be in jail.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
That's exactly right, not an exaggeration. This is why RFK Jr.
Made the statement that nothing is going to be off limits.
We're going to find out what happened, and then from
there we're going to punish LUs.

Speaker 9 (19:15):
Thursday, President Trump signed an executive order to establish the
MAJA Commission to study what has caused the precipitous decline
in American health over the past two generations. So we
will convene representatives of all viewpoints to study the causes
for the drastic rise in chronic disease. Some of the

(19:39):
possible factors we will investigate were formerly taboom or insufficiently
scrutinize a childhood vaccine schedule, electromagnetic radiation, gliphosate, other pesticides,
ultra processed foods, artificial food analysis, and other psychiatric drugs, bfas, pfoas, microplastics.

(20:07):
Nothing is going to be off limits. Whatever belief her
suspicion I have expressed in the past, I'm willing to
subject them all to the scrutiny of unbiased science.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
That is going to be our template. Unbiased science.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
That's something that will make us all proud of this
agency and of our role in restoring American health. Let's
commission research that will satisfy all the stakeholders once and
for all. Let's use protocols that we all agree on
in advance and not alter the outcomes of studies and

(20:47):
they're halfway through and that they look inconvenient. Let's all
depoliticize these issues and re establish a common ground or
action and renew the search for existential truth with no
political impediments and no preconceptions.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
The older I get, the more I have come to learn,
I guess this is what they mean by wisdom. I'm
not saying I'm wise, but as you get older, you
learn things, You see things that you didn't believe. You know,
if I tell my kids to drive carefully it's wet outside,
they're like, oh, Dad, it's well. I had a buddy
it was wet outside and he slammed into a deer
and it killed him.

Speaker 7 (21:26):
Nah.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
You always got somebody who died that you knew. Well, yeah,
and after that you think about things a little differently
because I'm not I'm not sixteen, seventeen eighteen anymore. I
know that people do die over dumb stuff, and I
don't want you to die over dumb stuff. Well, the
older I get, the more I come to the conclusion
that the only people who make a difference are not

(21:47):
going to be popular. They're not going to be padded
on the back. The whistleblower is going to be threatened
in any case, they're going to be defeated. To do
the right thing is going to bear across, going to
make you suffer, but you do it because it's the
right thing. And that's why I've come to appreciate and

(22:09):
admire people who are fearless. When people tell me, hey,
thanks for what you do. You say what I can't
bring myself to say. Why why can't you say it?
Also here was RFK Junior at his confirmation hearing. He
was asked a question by Senator Tom Tillis of North Carolina.

(22:30):
And this is what they do. They try to marginalize you, folks.
They try to marginalize you, that you're some conspiracy theorist.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
I got a real quick question for you. Are you
a conspiracy theorist? That is a pejorative senator that's applied
to me mainly to keep me from asking difficult questions
a powerful interest. I was told that I was a
conspiracy theorist. That label is applied to me because I

(23:00):
said that the vaccines, the COVID vaccine didn't prevent transmission
and it wouldn't prevent infection when the government was telling
people Americans that it would. I was saying that because
I was looking at the monkey studies. In May of
twenty twenty, I was called a conspiray. Now everybody admits it.

Speaker 9 (23:20):
I was called a conspiracy theorist because I said red
dye caused cancer, and now FDA has acknowledged that and
banned it. I was called a conspiracy theorist because I
said floor I lowered IQ. Last week, AMA published a
matter of view of eighty seven studies saying that there's
a direct inverse correlation between IQ loss.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
All Right, so I'm going to assume I can go
on for about a week. Is there any one of
them that you can say you got me that really
was a conspiracy theory?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Or are you in a possession?

Speaker 1 (23:52):
You know, folks, it's kind of like the old Winston
Churchill line you have enemies. Good. It means that at
some point you stood up for something. If you're not
ruffling any feathers, if nobody resents what you say, then
you're not in any way threatening the establishment. You're not

(24:15):
in any way threatening the powers that be. Now why
is that? Because you see what's wrong in this country?
This is okay for people to be mad at you.
That's validation that you're over the target.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Some don't want to hear it. You'll just go ahead
and say it.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Sorry, Michael Barry show, let me cut in, because there's
two bits of audio I want to get to. Journalist
and University of Austin professor Michael Schellenberger told Senator Josh
Hawley that a whistleblower claims that CIA agents were paid
to change their assessment of the origins of COVID.

Speaker 10 (24:57):
This is criminal, this is scary intelligence, dangerously compromised. Warrant
CIA and FBI whistleblowers. You're not the only one to
report this, of course, but I was reading your report
on it this morning. This is something that you have
been warning about for quite some time, and the allegations
stem from a whistleblower who has come forward to the House,

(25:18):
a whistleblower from the Central Intelligence Agency. I have the letter,
the relevant letter here from the House Oversight Committee. The
whistleblower alleges that a CIA team was paid to change
its assessment of the origins of COVID nineteen. Do I
have that broadly correct set your understanding of the report.

(25:39):
This is obviously a bombshell report, deeply, deeply troubling. I'm
glad that the House is going to look into it.
We should look into it. What caught my attention is
you point out in your article on this that the
government has deliberately violated the COVID Origins Act, which this
body passed unanimously, the House pass the President signed into law,

(26:02):
and maybe he wasn't so happy about.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Signing it into law that he did.

Speaker 10 (26:05):
It is the law of the land, and which required
that all of the government's intelligence on the origins of
COVID being made public. Instead, what the administration did was
offer up a summary, which they then in turn heavily redacted.
And you point out that, in addition, the government refused
to the administration refused to report the names of scientists

(26:27):
who fell ill at the Wuvon Institution Institute of Virology
in twenty nineteen, despite the fact they know the names.
The intelligence community knows the names. Now, you're absolutely right
to say this is a violation of the COVID Origins Act,
and I would know because I wrote it.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
So I'm not very happy.

Speaker 10 (26:41):
About the fact that this administration continues to flaunt, flout,
completely ignore public law passed again unanimously by the United
States Senate. For what end, I can't tell. I can't
figure out why in the world. I don't know what
partisan gain there is to it. Why in the world
they want to lie to the American people. You conclude
your article by saying the government has become extremely comfortable

(27:02):
with lying to us. Just explain what you mean by that.
And tell us why you think this is so significant.

Speaker 11 (27:07):
Well, sure, and just on the very specific point, if
we were the first to identify the three people that
contracted the coronavirus in China, they were the people working
on gain and function research in the Muhaian student virology.
The Wall Street Journal confirmed our reporting two weeks later,
and then I think it was one week after that
or a few days after that, the ODE and I

(27:28):
report came out and it did not reveal this information.
And we had multiple sources the Wall Street Journal. We
have no idea if the Wall Street Journal sources were
the same. But I think we're clearly seeing a lot
of abuses of power occurring in multiple executive agencies. So
we've seen it with the FBI. One of the things
that we noted yesterday was that we saw perverse incentives

(27:49):
in the FBI to go after so called domestic violent extremism,
pulling an agent off of things like child exploitation onto
really hyping a set of cases that particularly appeared to
be aimed at spreading disinformation around the idea that there
is a significant increase of domestic extremism when we don't
think that the evidence shows that. And now we see

(28:11):
this report that came out that suggested there's an FBI
whistleblower who says that six of the cent An analysts
had said it was a laboratory origin and then they
had reversed their position in some exchange for some sort
of a salary bone. It's just some sort of a
financial incentive. So and we've been done, you know, so
we keep documenting it. We just keep finding agencies and
agencies DHS involved in trying to create a disinformation governance board.

(28:36):
I keep you know, the censorship industrial complex. We just
keep finding new parts of it. So in the research
for this testimony, we discovered this deep trust alliance that had,
you know, what appears to be ties to the security
and intelligence agencies of the United States government. Appears to
be trying to set itself up, although it's now kind
of ghosted after twenty twenty one, but appeared in trying
to set up self up to decide what is reality

(28:59):
and what are fakes for people. And I think it
should have a chilling effect. And that's not how we
do free speech in America. We don't have government agencies,
we don't have cutouts or front groups that appear to
have support from those agencies telling the American people what's true,
what's false, or telling social media companies behind the scenes
what they should be censoring.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
And then the follow up where Michael Schellenberger, who's done
amazing job, he's still talking to Senator Josh Hawley from
Republican from Missouri. He says that the Biden administration had
been meeting with social media companies for years and compelling
them to comply with what the Biden administration said. So

(29:40):
that Facebook and before that Twitter, before Elon. What they're
doing here is they're controlling our ability to share our
stories by silencing us. That is the ultimate power grab.

Speaker 10 (29:54):
We now know thanks to the case Missouri versus Biden,
that that's exactly what this administra from the White House
to the FBI, to the State Department, to the CDC
to SISA, have all been meeting with the social media
companies for years now, giving them direct commands about what

(30:15):
to censor and take down, naming specific accounts and specific
speech they want suppressed, threatening the social media platforms if
they don't do it. And remarkably, I'm quoting the court here,
the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and there's a huge
evidentiary record. Everybody, go, don't take my word for it,
go read the record. It's all on the record from

(30:35):
the District Court. What the Fifth Circuit seid is remarkably,
the social media platforms all complied, all of them. They
all agreed to be tools of the United States government
and to censor what they were ordered to censor, to
suppress the speech they were ordered to suppress. You're a journalist,
tell us about the threat to the First Amendment. And
by the way, just for the record, I think it's
important to establish the Federal Court of Appeals said directly,

(30:58):
in no uncertain terms, this was a clear violation of
the United States Constitution. The First Amendment does not allow
the federal government to use private companies to censor what
they wouldn't be able to do it themselves. And that's
exactly what this administration has done. Tell us, as a journalist,
the threat to free speech, to freedom of the press

(31:18):
from this kind of collusion between a very powerful government
trying to hijack every media company it can get its
hands on.

Speaker 11 (31:25):
Well, sure, I mean, if you just start on the
issue of the COVID vaccine, for example, public interest advocates
spent a very long time trying to get the pharmaceutic
requiring the pharmaceutical companies to list the side effects of
their drugs in their advertisements. Here we saw a situation
where people were sharing information about the side effects of
the vaccine on Facebook and other social media platforms, and

(31:48):
the White House demanding that it'd be taken down. Facebook complying,
acknowledging that it was often true information. We also saw
that Facebook's own internal research showed that actually increases vaccine
hesitancy when you censor those stories that people are if
they want to be comfortable with a new drug, they
need to.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Be able to talk it out a bit.

Speaker 11 (32:09):
So Facebook told the White House that actually would backfire.
The White House insisted Facebook caved in because, according to
the Facebook executive Nick Klegg, he said, well, We've got
this other business that we need to do with the
White House, which is the data flows, meaning we need
the White House to help us negotiate with the Europeans
to bring our data back to the United States. So

(32:30):
I think the Fitth Circuit Court did a great job
in identifying the clearly coercive measures, but I don't think
it went far enough to because the First Amendment it
prevents the government from abridging or infringing on free speech,
offering an incentive to social media platforms, such as helping
them with their dispute with Europe in exchange for censoring
often true content, though of course the First Amendment also

(32:51):
protects false content.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
I think it's a very chilling effect. I think it's
very disturbing.

Speaker 11 (32:56):
Anybody that cares about holding powerful entity to account should
be disturbed by what we saw take place on Facebook,
on Twitter, and you know, I think we just have
to remind ourselves. And what disturbs me when I hear
sort of the conversation around AI coming into it sort
of with the beginner of mind, I hear a lot

(33:18):
of talk about how to protect the public from harm.
We have to protect the public from harm. What people
are saying is that we need to censor speech, sensor
certain voices, censor disfavorite voices because.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Of this idea that will cause real ball of harm.
Censorship is control, it's silencing your opposition.
