(00:00):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kellyon demand from KFI AM six forty.
It is now time for the gamewhere you choose your own cinematic adventure.
There are ten movie clips that wehave assembled from various decades in American movie
history, as we do each andevery Friday night, and your job is

(00:21):
to pick one and then name themovie from which it comes. Some days
we play for prizes and some dayswe play for fun. After hearing the
clip, you can ask for helpfrom anyone in the studio or in your
house. You can google, youcan text a friend, you can lie,
cheat, steal, we don't care. But the answer is up to
you. You'll have thirty seconds fromthe end of the clip and one hint

(00:44):
from those of us in the studioto give the right answer. Now,
let's get to it. This isname that movie culte classic, and this
may be your chance to play. For the first time. We have some
i've been phone lines. Believe itor not, Give us a call at
eight hundred five to two zero onefive three four. If you like to

(01:06):
play, name that movie called classic, give us a call at eight hundred
five to two zero one five threefour. In fact, Folk reporter Neil
Sevadra has been working on these verycool shot skis and giveaways for us,
So we're gonna have all sorts ofprizes and we're getting named tonight for those
prizes. I've seen mugs, I'veseen key chains, all of that.

(01:27):
Now let's get to the game itself. Let's talk to Matt in San Juan
Capistrano. Matt, how's your eveningtonight? Yeah? Ill are you today?
Moe? I'm doing just fine.Thank you for calling in. What
were you doing prior to calling in? You know what? I was just
at a stop sign and sitting thereand heard it and I dialed it and

(01:48):
there we go. And I likemovies, and who doesn't want to talk
movies with mokel Hey, I appreciatethat. So have you heard the game
before? Nope? Okay, it'sreal simple. You can choose any number
between one in ten, and thenumber you choose will play the predetermined clip
which corresponds to that number. You'lllisten to it in its entirety, and
then you try to figure out andguess what movie it comes from if it

(02:13):
doesn't, if it doesn't already ringa bell, and then you can ask
for help from anyone in the studio. You can ask for help from me,
you can ask Mark Ronner, youcan ask Elbom's on the board,
but he's real young, so heprobably won't be much help. You can
choose, well, you can.I gotta point I gotta point this out.
When you were talking about the superherostuff and when you guys nailed the

(02:36):
writing, that is the key.And I'll tell you what, no better
example of that was than The Incredibles. Right and right came out with that.
What a great movie because it waswell written. I'm trying to get
Mark Ronner to see it, buthe won't see anything. Oh no,
no, no, I've seen TheIncredible and The Incredibles is so good that
I don't think they should ever makea Fantastic Four movie after it, because

(02:58):
The Incredible says everything you need toabout that. That's the analog for it.
Absolutely yeah, well yeah, yeah, no, it was just so
well done. You guys are absolutelyright. It doesn't matter what the genre
is. It could be superheroes,it could be accent whatever. Yeah,
you know, all these stories havebeen told in one way or another before.
A good story is a good story. Now let's get to this story.

(03:20):
Matt from San Juan Capistrano. Youare first up. You can choose
any number between one and ten.You gotta have number seven, then lucky
seven. Here we go. Youhave something that I just don't have.
Well, I guess there's limits towhat money can buy many. Wow,
some things aren't for sale, suchan ad we we can't buy people,

(03:50):
this naive Dinah. I buy peopleevery day. Oh well, in business
maybe, but not when real emotionsare involved. So what are you saying?
You can't buy love? That's abit of a cliche. Do any
think it's absolutely true? Is it? What do you think? I agree
with Diana? You do? Well, let's test the cliche. I suppose

(04:19):
I were to offer you one milliondollars for one night with your wife.
You're kidding. Let's pretend I'm not. Oh, Matt from San Juan Capistrano,

(04:42):
your first up, your first timeplaying. Do you know that cult
classic movie I do? I Gotta. I'm trying to figure out what the
title is though, would seem tome more money for my wife? You
got help them out? Any anyhints as far as the title sure a

(05:05):
synonym of inappropriate? Or if youwere to run outside with no clothes on.
You might be called this okay, all right, yeah, yeah,
yeah is a two word time.Uh yes, indecent indecent proposal. There

(05:27):
we go. Nice job, See, Matt, was that too difficult?
You handled that wonderfully. Well whatI appreciate your use of the English language
because that that tipped it for me. I recognize the scene about halfway through
and try to remember who was init. From there we go, Well,
fantastic job. We're going to getyour information and make sure you get

(05:48):
a fantastic prize in the future. All right, well, mo, thank
you so much. Great talking toyou on a Friday night. I appreciate
you. Matt, have a wonderfulweekend. Let's go to Eric in Granada
Hills. Eric, thank you forholding. What were you doing prior to
calling in tonight? Oh I've beenI've been indoors all day long because it's
been so hot. I'm finally outsidenow because it's cooled off. Well,

(06:11):
let's have some fun since the sunhas gone down. Have you played with
us before? I haven't. No, I've only heard this for a couple
of weeks, but I want toget on board. Well, make sure
you tell a friend. We dothis most Fridays, just about every Friday.
You have to choose a number betweenone and ten, with the exception
of seven, which has already beenchosen, and then we'll play the corresponding
clip, and you have about thirtyseconds to figure out and tell us the

(06:34):
title of the movie. Let's takenumber one. Here comes number one?
Nice sweater. Where have we geta karata today? Can we just hire
any of them? Relaxed? Now, relaxed. There's so much to do
in a single day. The mostimportant question is where do we I hope

(06:57):
Freddy made a reservation. Freddy Freddy, Freddy Miles, Freddie's organizing the Christian
skiing trip. Oh, here heis Friday, Go die, I die

(07:21):
God. I don't want to pickeveryone. You see just once Tony wants
absolutely once child tom Riley, Imean, hey, if I'm late,
if you think what her husband saying, gorgeous as always, manjoty see I

(07:42):
got the table outside of Preachier's Tommyoutstanding. I tell you, I'm so
cabin crazy with Eric. There weresome clues in that clip. You want
to hazard a guess, I don'tyou know. I've known all of the
other clips before, but this onehave no clue. Okay, in this
scene you have Damon Jude Law andthe late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Ah,

(08:05):
it's a talented mister Ripley. Correct. Well done, sir, and I
thought you would have gotten it fromthey call him Ripley in that clip,
and I guess you didn't catch it, but you figured it out. Well
done, Well done. Well thanksfor the hints. It was a power
packed cast, some heavyweights earlier intheir careers. I wonder what Philip Seymour

(08:30):
Hoffman would be today if you werestill around. Yeah, that's unfortunate.
Well, Eric, thank you forbeing a wonderful sport. Thank you for
listening to us and then deciding tocall in, and please make sure we
can do it again in the futuresometime. I will have a good night,

Oh, I was helping my husbandin the office, so I've been working

(09:13):
all day. Okay, well, let's ease off the work and have some
fun. You can choose any numberexcept one or seven. Number three.
Here comes number three. You neverseen one of these? How many minute

(09:33):
I have got out? The firstone I killed my plane was better.
So now you're a dragon killer evenoriginal using the wheat fields just out of
the coffee Feld, Kansas, lateNovember. It's a month missed. We

(09:56):
call the open summer, said byI miss you know where to run?
Twice it came in on us,and twice it missed the heart of us.
That's when I had an epiphany. You see, they have great vision

(10:18):
in the day, they have evenbetter vision at night, but in the
failing mind they can't focus. Magicowt Mara. Do you need a hint?

(10:39):
Do you recognize those? That choice? Is that Hannibal? That's a
good guess. It's a macp character. The voice you hear is Matthew McConaughey,
and there was a hint about dragonSlayer. He's talking to Christian Bale.

(11:03):
Listen to me. There's a hitabout Dragon Slayer. Christian Bale,
Matthew McConaughey, all right, ifyou were, if you were a king,
and your time on the throne isit's another word for time on the

(11:24):
throne. Help me out mark youknow the movie I Do And and then
your defense. You've chosen a prettydeep cut here. Yeah, it's by
one of the guys who was responsiblefor X Files. If that helps you
at all, Oh, you're makingit more difficult. Yeah, you're probably
right. All right, all right, all right, if let me this

(11:46):
is a homonym, I'll do itthis way when when it's not snowing but
it's coming down, moistures coming down, what would you call that? Okay?
All right, R E I GN and this instance and the up
and and you would use water toput this out? Fire? Okay,

(12:09):
so we have raining fire, rainof fire there it is, Yes,

Yeah, for sure. Okay, you can choose two, four, five,

(13:18):
six, eight nine, ten,two four, five, six,
eight nine or ten. Well,I'm all about that synchronicity, and I'm
gonna go with number nine since it'sthe nineteenth. All right, here we
go, number nine. Oh well, since when are you the quitting kind?

(13:41):
I don't know. I just don'tsee the point anymore. So you
didn't make the dress list. Thereare greater tragedies in the world. I
wanted to run out of that tunnelfor my dad to prove to everything what
that I was. Somebody. Ohyou are so full of crack. You're
five feet knuhing one hundred and enoughand you got hardly a spec of athletic

(14:07):
ability, and you hung in withthe best college football team in the land
for two years. And you're alsogonna walk out of here with a degree
from the University of Notre Dame.In this lifetime, you don't have to
prove nothing to nobody except yourself. And after what you've gone through, if
you haven't done that by now,it ain't gonna never happen. Marcus,

(14:30):
are you familiar with that classic scenefrom that classic movie. Well, I've
never really been one for like sportsmovies. I want to say, like
my first say it again, Rudy, correct. See, I tell people

(14:52):
trust your guts. That's ask thejob. People want to make it more
different cool than it is oftentimes.Listen to the clip. There are clues
within the clip running out on thefield Notre Dame. Start piecing it together,
and you did just that. Welldone, sir. Yeah, well,

(15:13):
thank thank you. I mean thatwas way before Sam Wise and he's
a great action aston. Yeah.Uh huh, well yeah, well,

movie. Yeah. I don't knowif they got it, but I mean
I was rolling through the whole thing. Walt the Knife please. Oh no,
I know that movie top to bottom. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well I wish I could do thisall night with you, Marcus, but

(16:00):
I got to run. Thank youso much and have a great weekending.
Now you're going to make me gohome and watch The Golden Child again?
Right on? I love it.Thank you so much. All right,
talk to you soon. Let's goone more call before the break is up.
Let's talk to Lawrence and Silmar.Lawrence, good evening, He's I'm

(16:21):
doing well. What were you doingprior to calling in? Oh? I
just got off for work. Ohworking on a movie myself. Oh?
Well, I know you can't telltoo much, you know NDA's and everything,
but I know you probably have awonderful, wonderful job. Can you
tell us what capacity? My jobis called video assist, and I set

(16:41):
up all the monitors for actors, directors, I mean directors, producers,
basically all the video villages. AndI record this way. When the director
says, hey, Lawrence, canI get a playback? I play back
all the tape. But you getto be on set every day, every
single day. I have direct contactwith the actors and the director a producer.
See that's good and bad because badbecause you have to be there to

(17:03):
set up beforehand, and bad becauseyou have to break down after everything's done.
So your days are longer than allthe talent. Yep, Well,
let's have some fun. I'm gladthat you still want to talk about movies
after working on a movie. Butyou can choose two, four, five,

(17:23):
six, eight or ten four definitive. He is sure of himself.
We'll see after this clip. It'son three. Let's move on the line.
This day has been real disappointing.I don't mind saying, well,
because you didn't get to kill everyone, they will come a time, boy

(17:45):
for your wish you never met.Mister. I'm already there. You see,
I'm in charge here. I droppedthis stick and they pick your friend
up with a sponge. Are youready to die? Friend? Oh?
In two hundred years. We've comefrom my regret, but I have one
life to give for my country tofuck you go ahead and drop the stick.

(18:10):
Oh we got all the falls inthe world right here. Man,
you know you've got nowhere to go. Shut fast, you say, Harry
you Lawrence from Stilmar. Do yourecognize that scene from one of my personal

(18:38):
favorite movies, Keanu Reeves Dennis Hopperbus. Oh, yes, yes,
oh, fifty five miles an hourwhen I was a kid. One word
actually on the bus, on thebus your bullet, yes, wildcat pop

(19:03):
quiz. I already I know theanswer. I'm just milking right now.
What there we go. You're gettingready run out of time because we had
to go to break. But Lawrence, welcome, fantastic job. Thank you
for what you do. Have agreat weekend, and make sure you call
it in again. Okay, Yeah, and watch Twisters. I worked on

(19:26):
that one. Watch Twisters. It'sgonna be good. I saw it,
I saw, I was, Iwas, I was torn. I enjoyed
it, but I was partial tothe original. Yeah, of course,
gotta run. Laurens, thanks somuch for calling in tonight. Thank you.
It's later with mo Kelly. Moreof your calls for name that movie
called Classic. On the other side, KFI AE six forty Live everywhere on

(19:47):
the iHeartRadio app. You're listening toLater with Moe Kelly on demand from KFI
A M six forty. Let's goback to the phones. Let's talk to
Buster calling in from Anaheim and Orange, CA. Buster, how's your evening
going? I'm good. How areyou, Moe? I'm doing well.
This is having fun. You knowthey call this work, but I just
call it having fun. So,Buster, have you listened to the show

(20:11):
before? Have you played the gamebefore? No? Oh? I love
it. I love it. Doyou understand how we play the game?
Yes? And I'm very excited. All right, I love the enthusiasm.
You can choose. Let me seenumber two, number five, six eight
or ten? Two, five, six eight or ten. I want to

(20:34):
go number five. Here we go. If I serve my country, why
don't you try serving yours? Doyou have anything else? Agent Hubbard?
Yeah? What do you think? This is a writ from the US District
Court ordering the release of all personsbeing held in this stadium. My authority

(20:56):
over rules, of course, yourauthority ends now. General William Devereux,
you are under arrest for the tortureand murder of Tarikuseini, an American citizen.
Just some kind of a joke, you see me laughing? General,

(21:18):
Captain? Or do your men tolower their weapons? Hub? You can't
do that, General, do itnow? The law states, I am
the law right here, right now, I am the law. The right
to remain. You have the rightto a fair trial. Do you have

(21:40):
the right not to be tortured, not to be murdered? Rights that you
took away from Tarikusini? You havethose rights because of the men that came
before you, who wore that uniform, because of the men and women that
are standing here right now waiting foryou to give them the order to fire.
Give them the order. General.Do you think that I would hesitate
to kill you or every other federalagent in this room if I thought it

(22:00):
was in the best interest in mycountry? No, no, no,
no, you wouldn't. As adate, I know that, but they
might buster from Anaheim. Did yourecognize those two voices in that clip?
Damn it. Every time you do, like the eighties or horror movies.
I'm totally on top. I haveno idea what this is. Okay,
I can tell you. The voicesare Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington. And

(22:26):
it tells the story of a rashof terrorist attacks in New York. And
this is pre nine to eleven. It was ahead of its time. And
I can tell you this is anotherdeep cut more. You're really digging on
these. I remember there were protestsand I had to cover them way back
at the time in the It wasa controversial movie. It was a very

(22:47):
controversial. The protests were actually bypeople who hadn't seen the movie either,
which added a whole other dimension tothings. They had a Net Benning in
it, Tony Shaloub, it wasit was a really really good movie.
Lance Reddick, the late Lance Reddick. Uh. Those are all great actors
who I love. And I stillhave no idea. What the hell let's
move yes, okay, Mark, any suggestions here? One word title,

(23:15):
well, actually it's two, butthere's an article in front of it.
Now you're right, you're right.Uh, never mind. It refers to
a kind of attack. Steve Segallhad a variation of this title, You're
gonna play that card? Yes,well, I gotta get him there somehow,
all right, all right, soSteve, okay, give me an

(23:37):
article. Not uh but right, okay, there you're halfway there to to
see something, to take something,to commandeer something. It's twenty five thousand
dollars pyramid. Something is under sedigan. Yes, well done, well done.

(24:12):
That was not an easy you've everheard. Okay, if you're,
if you're a movie, I wantto watch it right now. No,
I is some of the best workthat Denzel has done. Bruce Willis has
an understated but very important role inthe movie. And look at it if
you can through pre nine eleven eyesand imagine how America responded to that movie.

(24:37):
Then if you look at it throughpost nine eleven eyes, it doesn't
have the same impact. But ifyou can remember America before nine to eleven,
you will look at us like, wow, it was pretty prescient.
All right. And just for you, Mo, I want to know that.
I'm calling you from a seven elevenparking lot. Get home safe,

(24:59):
right, I'll go and watch theCDs if I survive the cede. Well,
I wish you saved the to havea great weekend. Thanks love for
bag By. Let's get one morecall it before we go to break mark
in La Mark. What's going on, sir? What's going on, big
boss man. This is an honor. Man. You don't know how many

(25:21):
times I've been trying to call inand get and talk contact with this man.
And I listened to KFI so muchMan, through Gary and Shannon all
the way up to you, andeven a little bit at the late night.
But I feel I know you somewherewhere homeboys are, street racing days
and all the good stuff. Well, I'm all that. I would love

(25:45):
to come and kick politics in thegame. I loved what you said yesterday
about Metro. Was listening to you. I'm still at work right now.
I'm doing a double shift. Iwork at the airport. I'm actually on
the AOA right now, and Igot lucky and got in. Well,
I'm glad. I'm glad, andthank you for the support and yesterday that

(26:07):
Metro rant that was all real, all true, all since. So thank
you to the heart, mode tothe heart, and I love what you
said and how you said it becauseI see politics all the time and this
is just throw down the earth andreal with your your message. Well,

(26:29):
two six eight or ten. Heya man, but my girl is the

right, Mark Ronner. If heneeds help, then you will be the
one to help him. Here wego number ten. Oh, it crossed
the bridge of death. Answered thesequestions? Three? The other side you

Robbin of Camelots. What there's yourrequest to seek the Holy Grail?
What is the capital of city?I don't know that, Mark from Los

(27:55):

of clues. Camel Lot, theHoly Grail. Uh. For a second,
I thought I was going in animation, But man, I wish I
could have had all the earlier pace. I'm pretty good. Okay, aout,
You've got this. It's one ofthe funniest movies all the time.

(28:18):
Made by the British Beatles of Comedy. You got this. There was a
clip in there and listen, It'slike, what were they searching for?
What were they searching for? Yourgrill? The Holy Grill? Okay,
you're halfway home. All you needto now do is figure out who made
the movie blank? And how aboutthis? Do you remember the show?

(28:44):
Let's make a deal, yes,Maria paul linn Okay, no, no,

Fifty thousand men died right here onthis field, fighting the same fight,

(31:56):
and we're still fighting amongst ourselves today. This green field right here, painted
red, bubbling with blood, youngboys, smoke and hot leaden going right

(32:17):
through their bodies. Listen to theirsouls. Man, you killed my brother
with knolice in my heart. Hatreddestroyed my family. You listen, take

And maybe, I don't know, maybe learn to play this game like

I'm sorry, I need a hint. It starred Denzel Washington, Will
Patton, Donald Fazelon, and othersabout a nineteen seventy one Virginia high school

(33:27):
football team. Okay, if theopposite of forget is to remember, Okay,
and let me see Mark help mewith the hint for the last two
words. There's a colorful group ofteen superheroes from DC which are called the

(33:52):
Teen Blank. They're not gods, they're not deities. They are m Okay.
What was the ship that sank innineteen I think it was nineteen twelve,
nineteen twelve. Yeah, they madea movie about it. Okay,
all right, let's shorten. Let'sshorten that to the first two syllables,

(34:19):
