(01:02):
little break, little respite, little three hour snooze and then
back ready to go. This is from ESPN. NBA Commissioner
Adam Silver said he hasn't given any thought to inquiries
by NFL owners about his willingness to switch leagues and
become commissioner of the NFL. While Silver did not explicitly
confirmed that he had been approached by NFL owners, sources
close to the situation told ESPN and several NFL owners
(01:22):
have tried to persuade Silver to run their league. Over
the course of his five years of the NBA's commissioner,
Silver has also been approached by a number of Fortune
five companies, according to sources, I'm not gonna call BS
on this because I believe that there are probably a
couple of unhappy owners. Remember what's happened in the NBA
(01:45):
has been a spike in their evalue, in their value. Um.
One of the things is when you look under the hood,
the spike and the value is because the new TV deal.
That new TV deal was bloated because you had multiple suitors,
including the company I work for, Fox Sports, bidding up ESPN,
who instead of paying two x of what they were
(02:06):
previously paying, they paid three x. The deal is so
bad for ESPN. They have so massively overpaid for this
deal to protect their half of the rights that it's
led to firings right, like, it's actually a terrible deal
for ESPN, but a good deal for the NBA, and
(02:27):
it's helped the valuation of NBA teams. I can tell
you that I've spoken to three different front offices in
the NFL and they have all said Adam Silver offers
very little in the terms in terms of of actual leadership,
and that many of the things he's done to not
(02:47):
be able to control, the tanking and the soap opera
element to it hurts the product, which is why football's
product remains incredibly, incredibly strong. But here's what I think
of with Adam Silver. I think of Adam Silver just
like I think of Hillary Clinton. I do Hillary Calton
(03:10):
won the popular vote. Do you know what that's good for?
Saying you won the popular vote? It's not the way
people are elected. You have to win the electoral college.
In order to win, you have to win Wisconsin and
Pennsylvania and Ohio and Florida, the swing states, remember the
(03:31):
states that she didn't visit. That this does not come
from somebody bitter. This thing is not comman somebody who's
dancing on her grave. This is just the This is
just me stating facts and That's what Adam Silver is.
Adam Silver wins on Twitter, Adam Silver wins in all
forms of social media. Adam Silver seems immensely likable, immensely likable.
(03:52):
A few times I've interviewed him, I liked him. That
doesn't mean that he's gonna be running the Nation Football League,
all right. It's do you want a guy with a
strong backbone and a massive ego or do you want
a guy who is a nice guy, a little bit
of a pushover. And I'm sure there are owners that
(04:15):
are like, you know, like a Jerry Jones who feels
like he's lost recently and wants to win, wants to
have a guy where he can manipulate the league or
other owners. Adam Silver is popular. Roger Goodell's better. The
NFL continues. Now they're getting into China. They've been there
(04:36):
in London, there in Mexico City. Their numbers are ridiculous.
They expanded to l a twofold. They've got there. The
first ones of the major sports in Vegas, Noki me NHL.
NHL worked for a year and a half until two
years until the NFL gets there. They're a head on Vegas.
They're a head on Los Angeles. They paid off there,
(04:58):
they're paying off their debt on the concussion lawsuit. They've
got Thursday Night Football, which is the expansion they're having,
Gonna have a new window with these games in London
and the game in China. And guess what, they're gonna
make more money because of it. That's it. Thursday Night
Football ratings were Remember Thursday Football did not exist, And
(05:23):
you go back four years ago and they had Thursday
Night Football first on CBS, and he made them carry
it on the NFL network in some games only on
the NFL network because that's what allows that network to survive,
that's owned by the owners, owned by the league. Then
he got a second suitor, NBC, to split the freight
(05:45):
with CBS for more Thursday Night football. And oh yeah,
by the way, simulcast in the NFL. Those ratings were
down from year one to year two and year three.
So what they do in year four They got it
back on the open market and they got Fox to
pay even more money for the exact same games that
(06:07):
had lower ratings. Yeah, CBS NBC lost money on them,
and Fox bid more money and only did Fox win,
But then they've won in the ratings ever since. Like, look,
this stuff might not be popular with you. You may
think it's about the personal conduct policy. Okay, Like think
(06:32):
about think about the NBA's ratings. They are massively down
across the board, and they're down in the Eastern Eastern
Conference big time. And while that may not matter to you,
did you know that six of sports television viewers are
in the Eastern time zone. Lebron James leaving the East
(06:53):
and moving to the West is an abject disaster for
the league. And what if they don't make the playoffs?
No Lebron in the playoffs would be post Jordan's NBA
type ratings drop. You don't have to think Lebron is
the greatest player ever to know that people tune in
to see Lebron. They already got the Warriors, who everyone
(07:17):
has already given the championship two. Regardless of the fact
that I actually think it's gonna be a battle whoever
they face coming out of the East. I think the
East is a better conference at the top of the
top four teams in the East are better than the
top four teams in the West. But that's not public perception.
And with the public not turning on their TV to
(07:38):
watch the NBA because the best player in the league
over the last fifteen years has been most most times
Lebron James, and he's playing on the Lakers, who played
too late at night at over half the year hurts
the league. And who's the blame for that? Why? At
the top the player movement that may ultimately help the league.
(08:03):
If you can get guys in New York, they already
got it in Boston, in l A and maybe in
Chicago someday you can get those, then they can kill
in the ratings. Meanwhile, the NFL does in many ways
restrict player movement. It builds up fan bases and regardless
of the size of the market, like Green Bay is
not a big market, but it has a big national presence.
(08:23):
Pittsburgh Steel is not a big market, but a huge
national presence. The NFL continues to win. I like it.
I'm Silver, I really like Saddam Silver seems like a
great dude. But the NFL is a better run business.
It's making more money even in these trying times for
(08:46):
the sport, a sport which may it could go away
at the high school level. Obviously, there's a little a
rule past this week where in New Jersey they can
only hit for fifteen minutes at practice, Like there's a
chance in the next ten years there is no high
school football. I would say state of California likely to
be the first state. All you need is a couple
(09:07):
of parents to go to a couple of doctors where
your kids have some post football brain issues and say
it was brought on by playing high school football, class
action lawsuit and can the can the California Interscholastic Federation
c IF can they support the sport? And the second
that becomes a no, you already have problems with pack
(09:28):
twelve schools that less people play football, less good line play,
still have skill position play, everybody playing flag football. High
school football could go away in the state of California
within the next decade. Wouldn't stunt me at all. In
spite of that trying economic future, the NFL is still
very viable. Matter of fact, the best business to get
(09:50):
into for anybody in TV. Ask anyone Adam Silver is
winning the popular vote. That is great for Twitter, that
is great to write books, but winning the electoral college
is what actually wins you the election. NBA champion Eddie
House joins the show up coming next? What does he
(10:12):
think about Adam Silver Plus the Lakers apparently are sticking
with Luke Walton for the rest of the season. Is
that the right move? And will they make the playoffs?
And we'll get in on the Boston Celtics, whose win
loss record is actually better without Kyrie than it is
with Kyrie. Why is that? Is it simply a product
(10:33):
of the schedule or is how good they are? Find
out next? But first, you know, in spring, in in
in sports, a trade can make or break your team.
I mean, think about all the discussions about the trade deadline.
Think about how the Celtics were put together that trade
to get Kyrie Irving, plus the signings of Al Horford
is a free agent, the signing of Gordon Hayward, who's
(10:54):
playing better. But the trade to get Kyrie Irving, as
well as all the trades Danny Angels made, is really
secured their future as a franchise. A good one give
me a championship. Bad one can sect you back for years.
You need to make good choices of a true car.

seen a thing or two. We are farmers. Under written

on Fox Sports Radio. Car shopping can be confusing with
(12:44):
terms like dealer price, list price, and invoice price. True
Car shows what other people paid for the car you want.
You can recognize a good price when you're ready to
buy a new or used car. Visit True Car and
they enjoy more confident car buying experience. Doug olives show
here on Fox Sports Radio. He won an NBA championship.
He's a bucket getter from back in the day. He's
(13:05):
the one and only Eddie House. He joins us on
the Got Leave Show on Fox Sports Radio. Um, Eddie,
let me get to what was the news of yesterday?
And now a sudden becoming clear it's probably coming down
from the top that Luke Walton's remain as head coach
of the Lakers. Is that the right call of the
wrong call, that's the right call has to be the
right call. I mean, at this point, they're there in
(13:27):
the middle of trying to make the playoffs. Right, what
they got twenty five games left when they get back
from the All Star Game, four games out of the
seven spot. If you bring in a new coach, I mean,
it just shakes up everything. Um, I think that you
have to just ride this out now. Moving forward next year,
is he going to be the right guy? Me? I
think that he is not going to be there next year,
(13:49):
just the way that I just don't think that that
he commands the the locker room the way the head
coach would like. He doesn't. He doesn't demand the attention
of the guys. Um. I just think because they look
at him as a peer and not as a coach. Um.
You know, a lot of the guys played against some
of them guys played against Lebron was drafted in the
(14:09):
same class as as him. So I think when you
look at it in that way, moving forward, they might not. Uh.
I don't think he'll be there in the long term,
but it's definitely the right movie keeping right now. I
agree with you. On on well, on both aspects. I
can't say on the pier just because I wouldn't tell
you that. You know, if you go back before injury,
they were tops. They were top seven across the board
(14:32):
in defensive metrics. And you know, the only way to
know if a if a team respects you is if
they'll play hard for you. I did think they played hard,
either for him or for Lebron. Obviously that's been called
the question recently. Okay, so with that mind, like, look, man,
we'll have a real conversation. Can it be a white
dude or does it have to be a black dude
in order to coach that team? I don't, I don't.
(14:53):
I think it just has to be that dude. It
has to be the right dude. I don't think uh,
I don't think race. I don't think that has to
create what ever. I don't think that that has religion
anything to do with it. I think it has to
be the right guy. Is this gonna be the right
guy that's able to deal with all of the outside
noise that comes with coaching Lebron James. Everybody's not cut
out for it for that job because it it's first off,
(15:16):
it's gonna bring a lot of attention to you. Anything
that goes down is gonna instantly go They're gonna say
Lebron and it's gonna be the coach or is it
a riff between Lebron and the coach? We all know
that the history of Lebron and his coaches. The only
one that I think that really didn't have too much
of a a spectacle there was Eric spols Foster, and
I think that was because that was being puppeteered, not
(15:38):
Eric Folster being puppeteer, but the whole dynamic of everything
by pat Riley. And I think that was a man
that Lebron definitely respected. So, um, it's gonna have to
be somebody that that that that's gonna be able to
to to command the the show that he is the
leader of the team. Number one, number two that Lebron
respects me and I think and that's the most important thing.
(16:01):
If your superstar, the main guy respects the head coach,
and everybody else falls in line, no question about it.
Who is that guy? I mean, I I don't know
what We're gonna recycle guy. So that's usually what happens, right,
So you know, I'm saying like if if somebody comes
to you and go, Eddie, you played the league. You
know how this works? You know how Lebron works. Who's
(16:21):
the guy like you're hearing Chasing Kidd and Mark Jackson,
but they're they're not that well regarded in terms of
their head coaching a comman. You got Tyler who's sitting
out there. But even Tyler and him seem to have
a little bit of beef uh late in that run
maybe maybe not maybe not so much. Um you know,
then there there's older coaches that you could kind of
(16:42):
try and recycle back or or reach out and maybe
try and get a coach k Like if if I
was to ask any house, say hey, a price is
no option. We gotta fix this thing. We gotta get
it done this offseason. Who do you think works? I
don't think coach. You know what? The Mark Jackson's the Jason.
These are guys is gonna command respect from Lebron instantly.
(17:03):
He's gonna respect them because they played the game number
one at the highest level. They played it at one
at the high like how he's been All Star Superstars,
They've been the same thing. So they will he will
respect that and um so those are two good names,
but again, what is that team gonna look like? You know,
what is that team gonna look like? In a song?
I think that's also a big part of it, like
(17:26):
because some guy's philosophies don't fit with certain players. So
I think it's a lot to go into this. But
I wouldn't see Mark Jackson's is a viable name out
there as far as older guys. Who were you thinking about?
I don't know. I don't know what solves it. I
really don't. I don't know if there's a guy who
you can go you know, like I mean Brian you know,
(17:48):
Brian Shaw is the guy who's been a Laker forever,
but he was always a triangle guy in a Phil
Jackson guy. I don't think that works. I don't know
if I don't know if the perfect solution is out
there really, I mean, like, look, Jeff and Gunny to
me would be the guy I would I would move
mountains for. But I don't know if he works with
the Lebron thing. Especially, you know, I don't know how
that that that that happens. I believe that I believe
(18:09):
that Lebron does respect Jeff. I know that for a fact,
I know that he that he will uh definitely listen
to what he has to say. Now, if he starts
seeing that there's some chinks and Jeff Armor that I'm
just hypothetically saying that, say the game, he's seeing that
the game has maybe passing because he's been in the
booth too long, and then that could cause problems because
(18:30):
the one thing about Lebron Lebron is is not only
wanted to be challenged and wanting to be coached, but
he's constantly challenging the coaches as well, um and challenging
players as well. So it takes a certain type of
coach and take certain type of players to play with him.
That's another reason why a lot of guys don't want
to go there, because you have, first off, your help
is such a high standard number one and number two.
Some of these other guys want to make their own way,
(18:52):
and you can't make your own way if you're playing
second fiddle to Lebron. Doug Olive show Fox Sports Treader,
that's the voice of Eddie House. Do you think they
make can run and make the playoffs? It's tough, man,
It's super tough. They got the next march they got.
I want to say they have the Raptors. They have, Uh,
they have they have a bunch of top team, they
(19:13):
have the Thunder and then they close out. They close
out with five tough teams as well. In April, they're
gonna have to go on. Uh, it's gonna be extremely
hard for him. Man. They're gonna have to string together
a seven game win streak and then like a four
game win streak, and and and then or win some here,
maybe lose a couple there. But if anybody can do it,
I think the Lakers can that Lebron could do it.
(19:33):
If there if there's anybody can do it, do we
trust Sacramento to stay up there? I don't know. You know,
they're out right now at the tenth spot. Do you
trust the Clippers to stay where they're at? I don't know.
They look like they're going the other way. So they
have an opportunity. It's their for him now. I mean,
it would be unfortunate for the NBA if Lebron James
is not in the playoffs. So I think that they'll
(19:54):
make it. Yeah, I think somehow magically. I'm like, look,
they got the rockets at home, then they have pe
Kins Grizzlies, Pelicans. If they don't win those three in
a row, and you know, you get you get Sons
and the Clippers. I mean, those are the teams you
absolutely have to beat. But if you're not beating the
Hawks before the break, you know, I mean, what what
what leads? But there are a bunch of teams that
(20:16):
you know, Wizards late in the year. We'll see what
happens there. They got They have several games with the Pelicans,
which I think really really helps him considering the Pelicans
are trying to lose games and aren't gonna play Anthony
Davis late in the games. Doug otlub Show here on
Fox Sports Radio, um Eddie houses our guests. What do
you think of the Celtics. They've had kind of a
weird first half of the year. There's been moments when
(20:37):
Kyrie has been the best player by my estimation maybe
in the league, but there have been moments where they
kind of standing around watching him, and there's times which
they don't look as good with him as they do
without him. This is the thing I think that what
happened to success they had last year without Kyrie, they
looked at it like, hey man, we can do this.
But the reason why they didn't get over to Hump
(20:58):
is because they didn't have Kyrie. And that's what everybody
was talking about last year. Oh, if they had Kyrie
and they had uh Gordon Hayward, they they could have
beat them. Well that's all. Remember that we were saying
that Kyrie is super important. He is their closer. Who's
the closer? If Kyrie is not on the court, they
don't know. They're looking around, they're trying to figure it out.
As great as Jason Tatum is for a second player,
(21:20):
I don't think he's ready for that job of being
the closer. I don't think Terry Rozier is ready for
that job. Our orfor is not ready that Jalen Brown
is not ready. So you need Kyrie on your team
because he is that guy in the fourth for that
you could go to, that you can trust, that has experienced,
that's hit all the big shots, that see every situation
that there can be, and is not afraid of the moment.
(21:40):
Now do they look better when he's not on the court.
For those guys, it looks like the ball moves around
a little bit. It looks like they're having more fun
playing and they play a different brand of basketball, but
looks could be to Steve And I think if you
look at what um what what Kyrie had been doing
before he went down, he was he was averaging close
to tennises that game, and the ball was movement. So
(22:01):
now I flipped the switch and say, you gotta put
some of the oners on these young players when he
is not and when he when he's on the court,
you have to be better. When he's not on the court,
you have to be better. Everybody just has to elevate
the game and stop making excuses about well, when he's
on the court, we just can't know if that's not it.
Brad Stevens brand of basketball isn't one guy do everything.
(22:22):
Everybody go out there and play. I was listening to
Brian Scalabrini talking about there is no defined roles on
the Boston Celtics team, and usually that's what happens. Everybody
has a role that's defined on teams. You know this, Doug, you,
this is your role. Your role is rebounded, setting screen,
your role is catching shoot, your role is manipulating the
pick a role, whatever it is, your role is. Well,
Boston doesn't have that role they have a wide open
(22:43):
offensive where he just basically explains to them, play your game,
be the best, you be aggressive. So if you have that,
then you just have to be better. He's giving you
the freedom. So he's not saying, hey, we're rolling the
ball out. Kyrie is the guy we all are standing
around at watching. You know, he's saying, hey, go out
there and play the best basketball that you played together.
And I think they have to get better. The young
players have to get it better. And we have to
(23:04):
remember that they are young. They are young, and they
have a chance to steal grow, so you know, and
they're growing right now, you know, as as we speak
in front our eyes. So they're gonna have to continue that.
And regardless of there's no way that the Boston Celtics
is a better team without Kyrie. Everry Doug gotlib show
here on Fox Sports Radio that that's the voice of
Eddie House Eddie. The seventies sixers are clearly going for it. Um,
(23:28):
it didn't feel like the Jimmy Butler thing was perfect.
And then they go out and add to Bias Harris, which, look,
they got five good players in their starting lineup, but
now they have no bench. What do you think about, uh,
the idea of going at it with no bench and
five really good starters all you know, maybe maybe the
(23:49):
best starting lineup remaining, but the weakest bench remaining. Well,
we we all know in the playoffs, is the rotation
shrinks anyway, You're only gonna go about seven deep, uh
eight at the most, you know, nine if some people
are at Boudro. But is the rotation shrinks up? So
those guys are gonna be getting the bulk of the minute.
I just don't think that they're ready to take a
(24:10):
step forward. Um they if they were Superman. They do
have a cryptonite and it is the color of the
Celtic green. Um. They are constantly losing to the Celtics.
They can't get over the hump against the Celtics. I
don't think they could beat Toronto. Um now Milwaukee. I
think that that would be a different type of game
for him. I think both of those teams are still
learning how to win playoff theories. So that will be
(24:32):
a really good match up for those two teams. But
as far as like if they massed up against Toronto
or Boston, I don't think they stand a chance against
either one of either one of those teams. I just
think they're those those two teams that I named Boston
in Toronto or just overall better teams and have more experience. Uh,
Kevin Rent was great last night. Steph Curry has been
much better of late after a shooting slum. Uh, they've
(24:55):
they've been uneven kind of outside of that. I know
they lost, but they've been playing really well. But you know,
they're just they're different with DeMarcus Cousins. They've always closed
with the smaller lineup, but now DeMarcus is like a
toy that they got to kind of find a way
to use. What do you think of the Warriors in
terms of hey going for their fourth title as of now?
(25:16):
Are they still the overwhelming favorite in your mind? Yeah,
no doubt, no doubt. When you got all stars at
every position on the court. You can start the game
and close the game with five all stars out there.
You got the two best, the two best shooters, the
best backcourt shooting duo that ever happened, and then you
have one of the best closers at seven foot can
do it all. I mean, they're gonna be extranding. You've
(25:38):
got the handyman to do it. All the Swiss Army
knife Man's Raymond. I just think that they they can't
be beat unless they get hurt. Um, God forbid any
any injury. Uh And even if one guy was to
go down, I still think that they will be overwhelming
favorites because they have that much firepower. It would take
something catastrophic to happen two guys going down, God forbid
(26:01):
and uh for I think anybody to have a chance
to beat them, because I just think that they're they're
they're that good. Um, when they struggled, they win. When
they struggled, they win by eight. When they feel like
they're not playing good basketball, they're still stream together eight
out of nine and stuff like that. So, um, that's tough.
That's real, real tough. Eddie House, Eddie, great stuff man,
(26:21):
Thanks so much for joining us. Appreciate you being our
guest here. All right, that's my man, Edie House joining
us on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Yeah, Sean Davis said,
did gotlip show really asked the next coach of the
Lakers has to be white or black? Ya? I think
you if it's a fair question, Like looking in the NBA,
it's it's a legit discussion that people have, Like some teams,
(26:45):
if some guys feel like they want to they want
to listen to a black coach. I mean, um, I
don't think it's an unreasonable If you think that's an
unreasonable question to ask, then you you haven't heard the
reality of sport. Because Luke Walton was a really good player.
Luke Walton comes obviously from basketball family. Luke Walton showing
(27:05):
the ability to coach. But if the truth is that
he's not breaking through, not cutting through, does that to
be a star player? Does that have to be somebody
who's like Tyler wasn't a star player? Tyler won a championship.
I would say that that Luke Walton had a better
career than Tyler did. Why would Tyler cut through whereas
(27:27):
Luke Walton didn't. Tyler was a longer time assistant. But
there's a lot of similarities there. So you're allowed to
think the question is strange. But that's what guys talk
about in real discussions in the NBA. Let's get to
Dan buy or find out what else is going on
the world sports Dan when he got Dougson news in
the NFL, it's the NFL network is reporting that free
age quarterback Nick Foles in the Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly have
(27:50):
a mutual interest in each other. Now, the Jaguars would
have to make some moves to fit Folds under the
salary cap. Remember, he had a two million dollar buyout
of his contract with Philadelphia Eagles when he opted out
a week ago. The Mets have named Jacob degram Is
their opening day starter, while Angels pitcher Matt Harvey is
expected to be out about ten days after straining his
gluts and drills. On Wednesday, the Minnesota Twins sign out
(28:13):
fielder Max Kepler to a five year extension. We're thirty
five million dollars. Because of heavy rains in l a
early first round play at the Genesis Open at Riviera
was wiped out by tournament officials. They got about ten
groups on the course today but then decided to halt
play and instead of keeping those scores, they decided to
wipe the slate clean. They hope by the top of
(28:34):
the hour they'll have an update on if they're even
gonna be able to resume play. In Los Angeles today,

Show in ten seconds, But first, a word from farmers.
From a dog accidentally flooding a living room to a
dog taking a joy ride, we've covered it. Talk to farmers,
we know a thing or two because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers under written my farmers
(29:21):
to fire insurance exchange and affiliates. A park's unavailable in
every state. Thanks Dan. Doug Gotlib show rolls on Fox
Sports Trader to take a Listen to Kyla Murray's agent,
Eric Burkhard, who also happens to be the agent UH
for Arizona Cardinals head coach Cliff Kingsbury, talked about some
stereotypes about Murray in his height, Feller is not some
(29:42):
little shrimp they're making out. This could raise two oh
five yesterday. These days and age of these old NFL
dinah scores and scout to sit back and talk about
what players can't do. Oh, he can't do that. He's
not this, He's not that. Those are the loser. You
want all your requirements and all of that. That's not
what the NFL game is today. Eric Burke hard is
(30:03):
he's he's doing what's called feeling himself right, because it
doesn't mean that he won't. But uh, these losers, how
old is old Bill Belichick? I wouldn't say Bill Belichick
say a loser. I wouldn't say that, and he reads
(30:25):
a loser the older coach. Look Sean McVeigh, I don't
know if he would draft Cayler Murray. I don't know.
I don't know how he would feel. The Funny thing
about Sean McVeigh, who's the youngest head coach in the NFL,
here's about thirty one years old, is that Sean McVeigh
actually is very conservative offensively, like they're not going five
wide and you know and doing any oop dupe they
(30:49):
give you the same look every time and run a
million different variations of the same look. So there's this
there's this belief. Um, there's this belief that somehow, somehow,
because you're younger, you see the world differently. When I
(31:10):
just look historically in the National Football League, Drew Brees,
who's a good three inches taller than Kyler Murray, um
is the one guy, and now Russell Westbrook because the
rest of us, Russell Wilson is the other guy. And
you have to play and and manage yourself differently. So
(31:32):
you know it's gonna change in terms of your ability
to see over the middle. You're gonna have to throw
outside the numbers. If you throw outside the numbers, you've
gotta have wide receivers. That we we talked with t
Jban's out of yesterday and he said, like, look, you're
gonna have to have guys with great eyes as wide
receivers because it's gonna come through windows. You're not gonna
you're not gonna be able to see the quarterback before
(31:54):
he throws the football. You'll see the ball coming through
a window. That's the way it works. It doesn't mean
he won't work, but there's a percentage of times in
which it hasn't worked because, among other things, the guy
small now Kyler does even though Kyle is a great athlete,
he does stay in the pocket. It also should be
pointed out he only started for a year and a
(32:14):
half in college football. He got he got to start
as a freshman at an em where's dad played, and
then he went to Oklahoma and he only started for
a year after red shirting and then backing up Baker Mayfield.
So there's a bunch of things that work against Kyler Murray.
One of the things that works against Kyler Murray is
he's small. One of the things that works against Kyler
(32:36):
Murray is he likes to run. One of the things
that works against Kyler Murray is he hadn't started a
lot of football games at the collegiate level. In terms
of reading a defense. Now, there are things that help him.
He's only been a quarterback. He does have a better
arm than a and see the see the field somewhat better,
(32:57):
uh than a Lamar Jackson. He's more accurate than Lamar
Jackson today. Um, And yeah, he's small, but he's always
kind of been small. It's not like it's not like
that somehow that's somehow changes in the the dynamic, and the
league is sort of coming around to it. I just
think that, like, look, his value is becoming ridiculously overinflated
(33:18):
because Baker in the same system succeeded, and he's a smaller, better,
more athletic version of Baker. The Big twelve defenses are horrendous, horrendous.
Oklahoma's defense was horrendous. What does that mean? That mean
that he got that meant that he got way more
opportunities to make plays, more snaps, more plays, more great offense,
(33:40):
and they had good skill position guys. And he's really good,
really talented, but it's really hard to evaluate what he
looks like against the real defense until you saw him
against Alabama and it wasn't He wasn't great, it wasn't great.
But this, well, they're old guys with old No, they're
not like that's just again just like this is what
(34:05):
I keep playing from me with that one more time
is Eric Burkhardt is his agent? Is not some little
shrimp they're making out this kild weighe two oh five yesterday.
These days and age of these old NFL dinas scores
and scouts to sit back and talk about what players
can't do. Oh, he can't do that. He's not this,
he's not that. Those are the losers. You want all
your requirements and all of that. That's not what the
(34:25):
NFL game is today. I love the idea that he
stereotypes older coaches with older ideas as losers, which are
all stereotypes, and then criticizes them for having stereotypes about
his size and weight. We all we all heard what
(34:45):
was done there, and Eric's really good. He does some
he does some media as well. We'll see. I'm fascinated
to see, if you know. And look. One of the
things that people haven't mentioned yet they will eventually is
that Kyler Murray's dad has a little bit of our
ball to him. And the fact that Kyler Murray picked
(35:08):
Eric Burkhardt as his agent. That's completely to put pressure
on on Cliff Kingsbury, who they have a longtime relationship together,
to pressure him to take in the number one pick
into trading away Josh Rosen, this is all a great
manipulation of a coach who I personally no Cliff and
Lightcliff and hope he succeeds. But tell me, there's a
(35:29):
blueprint for a cliff being successful. Like, Hey, I don't
care who you pick as quarterback. You might want to
get an offensive line Arizona because they don't have one.
That team has so many holes. And you're gonna get
a college coach who hasn't been proven as a winner
in college. And again, I'm the guy who said it's
two different jobs. It's just coaching ball cliffs playing in
(35:52):
the NFL. There's no reason they can't work. But the
the likelihood of success during your first job coming in
when you have Lara Fitzgerald a little bit over the hill.
You have other star players, but you don't have a
good offensive line. You're gonna spend your first round pick
on uh over, first overall pick on a quarterback who's
five ft nine and a half. Call me crazy, but
(36:16):
there's a there's a lot of numbers working against you.
Even if you think you got the right coach and
the right guy. I guess who's the star in Major
League Baseball and might be getting a big pay day
soon you'll find out. Next. From a hotble loon landing

we like to get you caught up in as many
stories as possible. We do so by playing a game.
This is Game Time Side on the Doug Gottlieb Show,
Dan Buyer, what's the game today? The game today? Doug
is alright. Guess who was interested in hosting another Super
(37:46):
Bowl the next time one becomes available in Minnesota? No? One?
Another guests? Sure? Um Atlanta? Yes. The Alanta Gjournal Constitution
reports the Alot of Sports Council has let the NFL
(38:07):
know they'd be interested in hosting Super Bowl fifty nine,
sixty or sixty one. Weird to even say that, but
we're kind of not that far away. Those would be
six or seven no longer bids competing against each other.
You kind of let the NFL know you're interested in
the NFL is interested in you. They'll get back to you.
So did you like the set up in Atlanta? Guess
(38:33):
who is it? That was just gonna leave it at that.
I like how everything was centrally located. Just I just people,
I don't think we're excited for the game, you know, like, well,
I mean that that's a product. I think of the
two teams that writ it more than anything. But you look,
I I just I just don't think it's like, it's
not a destination city. It was. It was a little
(38:55):
chilly for a couple of days there. I guess who
was interested in hosting another Olympic expossibly these Summer Games
in two or No, that's a really good guess. Actually
this on Russia. Russia wants back in despite being in
the midst of that doping scandal surrounding the Winter Games
that they hosted in last time Russia hosted the Summer
(39:19):
Games was in Moscow. That guests who dug in baseball
is not putting any sort of deadline on contract extension
talks with this current team, despite having his contract expire
after the twenty nineteen season. Making these comments today at
spring training, I'm gonna say, Aaron Judge, Nolan Erinado, and
(39:43):
this is gonna be soon to be Angel or Dodger.
This is this is in line with Chris Sale. You know,
Chris Sale is saying yesterday, I'd love you know, I'd
love to stay in Boston, would love to continue to
be a Red Sox, but a Red Sox. But I
think these guys also would take Hey, if you could
get a tract now, maybe better than to wait until,
you know, instead of waiting to the off season and
(40:05):
ending up like Manny Machadowar Bryce Harper. I guess who,
did you have something to add to that? Or do
you want to move on? No? I mean the old
hometown discount might not actually be a discount, is what
you're saying. Yeah, yeah, Well, I think that the fact
is maybe these guys who just take something that's satisfactory
instead of being like Bryce Harper and living three hundred
million dollars on the table because you think you can
(40:25):
do better and then you don't so I guess who
Indians picture, Trevor Bauer says, assassinated his character. Uh, kind
of a trick question. Hold on, hold on, assassinated his character? Broadcaster?
Is it a broadcaster? No? No, um at least are
(40:48):
tough today. Sorry, I'm gonna go with Tito Francona. Well,
it kind of close. It's actually the Cleveland Indians, because
Bober told USA Today the Indians basically called him a
terrible human being during his arbitration case. He won his
arbitration case, but cited that he made a donation to
a charity, uh, and that the Indians actually said that
(41:10):
it was very immature because he donated six million, four
hundred and twenty thousand, nine hundred and sixty nine dollars
and sixty nine cents, so a lot of sixty nines
and four twenties in that amount. And he also donated
to the sixty nine Days of Caring, which the Indians
called immature. They also seted his social media activity and
getting in arguments with people on Twitter. But Trevor Bauer
(41:31):
telling USA Today, the Indians assassinated his character. I felt
like he shot himself in the foot with some of
that stuff, like he really donated six million dollars, Yeah,
six six million, four hundred and twenty thousand. Yeah, that's
a lot of money to donate a couple of sixty nines.
At the end of that, I understand, I understand the
sixty nines and the four twenties, and it's it's kind
(41:52):
of cute and clever or whatever and the but but
if he donate six six six million dollars, like did,
I'm good with? How are you my of donated? This
is game time on the Duck Gotlieb Show. Valentine's Day
is today? What gift are you getting for the one
you love? Say? Four hundred dollars on the half carrot total?
Wait diamond Hard Pennant now only to show cubids Boss
(42:16):
this Valentine's Day at Hellsburg Diamonds. The Celtics are not
better with Kyrie Irving. Please stop excuse me without Kyrie Irving. Please,
I beg you stop saying it. I'll prove it to
you next. What Updug got Leave Show, Fox Sports Radio.
(42:38):
Mm hmmmm mm hmmm. Colin Cowherd said it. I've heard
Jason McIntyre say it. I've I've read this statu about
the Celtics being what is a ten and two without
(43:01):
Kyrie Irving? So therefore they must be better without Kyrie Irving?
Can I just provide you some No one actually believes that,
do they? Right? Like, nobody actually believes that. I mean,
the Calves with Kyrie Irving had a legit chance before
(43:23):
he got hurt the first time they matched up against
the Calves did against the Warriors, did come back and
beat the Warriors, and then um, you know, before he
was traded, had another chance to beat the Warriors. Without him,
they had zero chance. And it's and it's funny, It's like, Okay,
(43:44):
I guess technically they take a loss having played with
them against the Clippers. And they did beat the Philadelphia
seventy without him last night or yeah, without it. And
then he beat the Detroit Pistons, but they were up
twenty three points when he got hurt against the Clippers.
(44:07):
Like has anyone researched to go like, oh hey, you
know a couple of the teams he didn't play against
were the Atlanta Hawks, were the Brooklyn Nets, were the
Orlando Magic. Like he sat out of games that they
were supposed to win. That's because they didn't need him.
Is it fair to calm injury prone? Yeah, you can
(44:27):
go calm injury prone. But the idea that he's it's
always funny to me Lebron James ms is seventeen games.
He's miss games every year he's played, with exception of
last season, no one calls Ron James injury prone. Kyrie
obviously did have a devastating knee injury, and last year,
if you remember, he had to have his knee fixed
(44:49):
because he basically had some metal that was designed to
keep the kneecap together after he suffered a broken kneecap
and traditionally you don't have to take it out. It
was bothering him. They took it out and one of
the screws was slightly infected. So there's a lot of
concern there. And obviously when you spraying your knee, you're like, oh,
(45:09):
here we go again. But I do think it's amazing
the Hey, we're not better without him, Like, yeah, you are,
You're a lot better without him. The East is a
lot better this year than it was last year. They
were about two games over five hundred without him. Last year,
coming down the stretch of the season, they weren't great
and they nearly lost to the Bucks. And yeah, they
(45:29):
beat the Philadelphia seventies Sixers, And if you actually watched
those games, a lot of that was about the Sixers
choking and not being able to make enough shots. Sixers
were about a year ahead to ahead of it. Like this,
This is just if if people in the NBA really
believed you they were better without Kyrie or the set
the Celtics really believed they were better without Kyrie than
(45:52):
with Kyrie. Why they want to hold on to him
so badly. Of course they want to hold on them
because they know they're better. Just it's massive silliness. The
Doug Gotland Shows brought to you by Farmers and Farmers.
We've seen almost everything, so we need to cover almost anything.
When it's game time, I have an experienced player help
(46:12):
you stay ahead of the game, put their experience into
play at Farmers dot com. Farmers here's the Danny Ane
said to the Sports Hub in Boston. It's completely logical.
It makes no sense if you look at the date.
Over the past two years, our team has been so
much better. It wasn't by a month ago. We were
trying to figure out how in the world we were
going to score. Without Kyrie on the court, everybody was
struggling and going through challenges. I mean, now we've got
(46:34):
a lot of good good play on a lot of
good guys last couple of nights, Jayson Tatum and Gordon
Hayward now Horford, they're playing great basketball. And Jalen Brown
has really stepped up his game with the past couple
of months and really brought his role off the bench.
So I feel like, all we need to play well,
but Kyrie is far more by far and away, our
most efficient player without question, and our team when Kyrie
(46:55):
is on the court over the past two years is
far more efficient. Kyrie playing, far more efficient Kyrie playing
than when he's not. So no, I think it's ridiculous.
I think it's ridiculous to think like like you, I'm sorry,
but you're not paying attention to the right things. Colin,
I'm sorry all of you, And Colin's not idiot, but
(47:16):
there's a lot of idiots out there that go like, wow,
wins and losses, who are you playing against? He sat
out of games because they were games they knew they
could win if he didn't play. Yet dopes pay attention.
Just look at the Clipper game. They're dominating the game
(47:38):
against the Clippers, dominating. He sprains his knee. They lose, Like, wow,
they lost a game that that colin, that that that
Kyrie played in. He didn't play at the end of
the game. That's why they lost. Like what am I missing?
He hasn't just played well the last month or so.
(48:00):
He's played exceedingly well in some of their biggest games.
And yeah they lost to the Lakers. They also had
an eight teen point lead and their bench and then
Terry Rosiers of the world were the ones that cost
them the lead. And even then they kind of lost
in the flukey play. Let's just be honest, like gen
Rondo catching and shooting an eighteen foot or with a
(48:22):
hand his face as a buzzer expires, Like it's not
like you not like you lost to a team by
thirty points and he wasn't great that day. But if
if the Celtics really believe that Kyrie wasn't far and
away their best player and they weren't better with him,
(48:42):
then why are they so willing to recruit him, pursue
him and want to build around him. Just it's just
it's just wants. I can't see it for you. If
you can't see it, I can't see it for you.
I can't see it for you. Don't believe me, believe
(49:04):
the league. If the league thought kyr Iran's overrated because
he dribbles too much and he does seeing too much
stuff or whatever, then he wouldn't be the most sought
after free agent guard this offseason. It's really amazing to
me how he's got caught up in this anti Lebron wash.
He never got any of the credit that he deserved.
(49:24):
It's so funny, Like they were bad. I remember You've
heard people go like, well they were bad before Lebron
got there. Well, yeah, by design, duh. They were trying
to lose game. First of all, he was like nineteen
twenty years old. He had been oft injured his first
couple of years, his last year before Lebron came. David Griffin,
(49:48):
who was the GM of the team at the time,
joined us earlier this uh late last year, and he's like,
does anybody realize that we were We wanted to lose
games and it worked. We got the number one overall
pick and that's we traded for Kevin Love, Like does
anybody remember that? Like what are we doing here? And
he wasn't perfect in playing with Lebron, but he was
(50:12):
just as much a part of the comeback from three
one as Lebron was, and he hit the game winning
shot when Lebron had forty one, he had forty one.
Like what am I missing? I don't. In the first
year they lost, they were going to overtime in Game
(50:33):
one on the road. They were going to overtown the
road because he was awesome. They were non competitive last year.
What was the difference? They didn't have Kyrie Irving. So
you can sit here and tell me all you want
either better without Kyrie Irving. Yeah, no, they're not one.
(50:54):
Their general manager doesn't think so too. There's no metric
that actually supports it outside of wins and losses. And
the only reason they have such a win lost record
was they didn't play Kyrie against the bad teams to
rest him because they knew they could win without him.
This is this is like the Tom Brady is only
good because they have Bill Belichick. Like I've heard the
(51:15):
the Tom Brady. Listen, Listen. They won eleven games the
year he was hurt. They won sixteen in the regular
season the year before. They set every record that had
ever been set by an offensive football team. The year before,
when Tom Brady won sixteen games, they outscored opponents by
three hundred and fifteen points. That's far and away the
(51:37):
greatest point differential in the history of the Nation Football League.
Matt Castle the next year one eleven games and didn't
make the playoffs. It's five less wins on what must
have been an easy schedule. But Tom Brady is just
a product of the system. Anybody could have quarterbacked them
to all the Super Bowls, nine Super Bowls and to
(51:58):
the six Super buwins. Form a round fell scout. John
Minelcoff joins the show. Coming next, What does he think
about Joe Flacco to the Broncos? Plus should the Giants
trade Odell Beckham Jr? And Can Calinary be an NFL
quarterback at five nine and a half? Find out next.

What do you think it? Yeah? That was excellent. I
forgot that this was his song as well as the
I thought it was just David Bowie. I don't realize
there's both of them. They have many good huh. Written
by John deacons By written by my My daughter plays
the bass very she's learned to play the bass. Yeah,
she plays violin and piano and uh and now she
(53:35):
plays the bass like bassed, massive underrated instrument. Right that
the bass is in many ways the power forward of
of of music. Right like the bass. That's it's so
important to have a really good bass player bass player,
and yet nobody grows up wanting to be a bass player.
(53:55):
Let's get to John Middlekoff. Middlecoff is our bass player.
He's a former NFL scout. You can hear is three
Now podcast, part of the Herd podcast network. Uh, what
is the football position that is akin to the bass
player blocking time? That's a good question. Maybe uh like
a guard, you know, like probably not a tackle, maybe
(54:17):
a tackle, maybe a right tackle. I was, I was,
I was thinking, like the magic Everyone is always awed
by Gronk and his ability to get open. What people
miss is the fact that he can um he can
block where some of these other guys cannot block at
all in the run game for sure. I mean, he
would have been, you know, struggling to play this year
(54:38):
if he wasn't a good blocker, because it's receiving. You know,
he was kind of a shell of himself until those
last couple of games. Can I pitch you on the
Joe Flacco trade and let me pitch you on it.
I'll hear it. Okay, So look, I don't I think
Joe is just like his name, average quarterback at average
starting quarterback. I think he's clearly a step up on
case Keenum, who's really a backup because of size, because
(55:01):
of arm strength. And they know it, and they looked around,
they go, all right, what are our options? Right, there's
fools who we don't love we're probably gonna have to
draft one in the meantime. Like, look with his with
his current contract, we can renegotiate this thing and get him,
I don't know, in the fourteen fifteen million dollar range,
and he'll be fine and we can fix our offensive
line and fix some other other stuff while we try
(55:23):
and draft a guy that will be on a rookie deal.
Is that a legitimate way to look at this, Yeah,
because if you are going to defend l way, I
think you'd say, free agency in the NFL, unlike basketball,
comes before the draft, so you when you're not picking one,
you don't control it. So you have to be aggressive
over this next month, right the film needs because you
don't know what's going to happen in the draft, and
(55:44):
it's it feels pretty clear that he's going to draft
a quarterback. We'll see my issue And I respect this
about John and I've always kind of defended John when
he's drafted at the later rounds like most GMC struggled.
But we saw what he did last year with good picks.
He nailed the draft. Now he struggled to find a
quarterback beside Peyton Manning. I think he really struggles with
(56:06):
not tanking necessarily, but he desperately wants to be competitive, right.
He doesn't want to have like a four win team
and kind of step back and then to take a
step forward. That's not really the Bronco way. And when
you get the Joe Flaccos and the case Keenum's, Joe
Flacco is coming to a team that's basically the poor
man's version of the team he's been on the last
three or four years and they haven't been able to
(56:26):
make the playoffs with him and the division, the Chiefs
are clearly really good. The Chargers are obviously really good.
So you've got two teams in division that are really hard.
I think the move might have been just roller case Keenum,
It's okay taking a step back this year and then
go all in next year. But that's you know, hopefully
you've got a top pick with all these other quarterbacks
coming out. But that's not the way he thinks. And
(56:46):
that's why if I was a betting man right now,
that they feel like they got six or seven wins
written all over them, well, we've also we've we've seen
other quarterbacks like this. Then you drafted, you know, Mike,
Mike Glenn right, they went and made a draft h
trade and they got Mitts, Robinsky and Glennon lasted a
couple of games like we have seen this move be
made before. Yeah, Um, Jake Glazier doesn't see he he
(57:10):
breaks the who's playing not playing information more than than
big stories. Um. But he in his mail bag he
made a bold prediction that Odell Beckham Jr. Will be traded.
It just feels a little bit out of character for
j and that makes me think that he knows something
we don't know. Do you see that as a possibility. Well,
(57:33):
I think they wanted to trade him last year, and
it was hard because he was so important. They weren't
going to be good and he was their super rock star, right,
he was the guy that's sold tickets and just made
them somewhat relevant. Well, this year they have another guy
that also does that. It's actually much more normal in
Sae Kwon Barkley. So I think they were definitely entertaining
it last year. It was just difficult because his contract
(57:56):
and what they needed to get and they again free
agency comes before the draft as so no one felt
comfortable doing it, you know, before the draft shaped out,
and once they got sa Kwan. They're like, let's just
roll with it. Now, he's got a pretty tradeable contract.
I actually I've been saying over and over like for
the forty Niners, I would be much more aggressive in
to get Odell Beckham than I would Antonio Brown. And
(58:17):
I think Antonio Brown is a better player. I mean,
the numbers speak for themselves, but Odell is much younger. Uh,
the injuries are a question, but I do think they
could kind of get a haul for Odell. Like if
I was the Niners, I'd give you pick thirty six
in my two thousand nineteen first rounder for Odell Beckham.
I would no way on God's green Earth do that
for Antonio Brown. So I I think they're gonna if
(58:39):
they are willing to put him out there, and they
definitely did last year, so I think they think about
it this year. They could probably get a lot back. Yeah,
as opposed to the Steelers, where not only will they
not get a lot back, but then they take that
cap hit. How do they how do they navigate that?
I don't know. They're kind of screwed. They got in
bed with these two guys, and Levian and Antonio because
they were so good and The way this is played
(59:01):
out is not ideal, you know, because clearly Antonio is
not gonna probably be on the team last year, but
he keeps tweeting like I'm out and he was hanging
out with Clutch a couple of weeks ago. It's like,
that doesn't really work in the NFL. You know, I
get it works in the NBA. But the Steelers, We're
not just gonna give you away. We're definitely not gonna
cut you. But all the teams know now that their
(59:21):
relationship is not good, so they're not gonna give you
that much. I think they're in a tough situation because
I don't think they're gonna get offers relative to how
good he is. Did even you know, it's like people
call y'all, give you a fourth rounder, Frantonio, Brownie, you
hang up the phone. But I don't think people are
calling him offering him first in high second round picks.
(59:41):
Doug gotlip show here on Fox Sports Radio. UM, kind
kind of fascinating that the Folds thing. It feels like
Jacksonville is ultimately the destination, but but and there there's
kind of mutual mutual respect there. How do you think
that works out? Yeah, I mean it makes sense right
with John D. Philippo, he was a quarter back coach
and Philly when they went on the run with Folds,
(01:00:03):
he's been around him. They can't come back with Blake Bortles,
even though they're kind of financially tied to him. Uh,
it'd be a little shocking, right if they don't end
up with Nick Foles. Now, what is the compensation on Foals?
That that one's gonna be a little tricky because he
does mean a lot to Philly. They love him, he
likes them, Uh that they have a stark, young quarterback.
(01:00:25):
But he's proven that he gets hurt every other game.
So you do need a contingency plan there. But you're
not gonna give him away. But how do you turn
down I mean, it probably doesn't get much better value
wise and Foals right now? Maybe last year after you
won the Super Bowl. So you settle like a third
round pick or something. Because I know the Eagles, they
they usually like to sell high, and that's you know
(01:00:46):
that they're gonna hold out as long as possible and
try to drum up a little bit of a market.
But they are going to try to do right by him.
He did mean a lot to there. I mean, he
won the first Super Bowl and franchise history. So if
he does want to go there, like part of it
is gonna be where does Foals want to go. I
think they're kind of gonna work together, but that also
the price has to be right. He does just make
(01:01:06):
sense because you can't come back with Bordles and Flip
needs a guy. He's an offensive coordinator, you know, kind
of resurrect his career. He just got fired in the
middle of the season, the guy that he can trust.
When I say, when I say kyl of Murray, what
comes to your mind? Uh, that's a tough question. I
mean just special player, just from a in a vacuum collegiately,
(01:01:28):
just awesome. I mean one of the more fun, entertaining
players I remember since like Reggie Bush. I mean, he
was electrifying. I think when you get to the NFL
conversation called me a little old school. I just not
that I'm anti drafting him, but taking him one overall
when you're we'll see what he measures in at I
was texting with the buddy in the league. As long
(01:01:49):
as he weighs around two h pounds to the big
things are gonna be just what does he look like
when you're standing next to him, which we've talked about
it before, is not that big? And what is his
hand size? Because everyone the league knows he's short, So
it's like whether he measures in at five nine and
three quarters, like they all know he's gonna be short
what I've been told, So okay, it's five quarters. If
(01:02:11):
he has big hands, which does not have I shook
his hand at the Super Bowl, does not have big hands,
I think that's that would be a problem and Twitter
will freak out and it will be a problem because
Russell Wilson at his pro day was to fifteen and
it's clearly just thick and have big hands. So if
you are going to take a short guy, which is
an outlier, not many of them have succeeded, you're gonna
(01:02:34):
have to hit some benchmarks at the other stuff in
the hands that are a big thing, especially if you're
a franchise that you know plays in colder weather. Now
you'd say, well, Jacksonville, Miami could draft quarterbacks. They playt
good weather. You know, most of the Northeast teams in
the a f C North have quarterbacks, so they probably
wouldn't go there, so maybe it just kind of works out.
(01:02:55):
I'd be the number one overall talk. I'd still be
a little shocked. But if he goes to the combine
and like we'll see what his hand size is, that
that's that's a huge thing. It's crazy that sounds. I
don't think it's crazy. I mean, like, look, it's one
of the things you know what no one I know,
no one had, but no one has brought this up.
Like when Kaepernick was starting to fade. One of the
reasons that Kaepernick people have been figured out was he
(01:03:17):
had small hands, so he couldn't change the arm angle
of how he threw a football, and people thought he
also can't he would struggle in bad weather if unless
he played with gloves, and he didn't play with gloves
because of his lack of hand size, right, Like there,
that's a legit. It's a legit conversation. And then when
you're smaller, not having a big hands makes means you
don't have his longer reach means you don't have his
(01:03:39):
higher release. Like I'm with you, I I think that. Okay,
how about this one. If Kyler Murray, with all his
success this year, was up against last year's quarterback class,
where you had Bradford go I mean Bradford Mayfield go one,
you had Donald go to, you had Rose, Rosen wasn't there.
(01:03:59):
Josh Allen was the third quarterback take and Rosen was four.
Would he break the top four? I think he'd probably
go ahead of Rose and I don't know about the
other three. You know, Buffalo that the weather component. They
needed a big, physical guy, so that that I think
they like uh Alan from the jump. The Jets clearly
(01:04:19):
loved Donald and Dorsey was smitten over Mayfield. So you
know he probably goes maybe the Cardinals at ten. That's
that's probably. I don't know if he does. I don't
know if he does. Like look, I am I know
all the flaws to Rosen, but like one thing Murray
has Doug though is unlike like Kaepernick wasn't accurate, Lamar
Jackson not accurate, this guy is really accurate. He's he's
(01:04:41):
a pretty natural thrower of the football, really good quarterback instincts.
How much how much has it hurt him that he's
only really started for a year and a half in
college football probably doesn't help. But we've seen recently, I
think we kind of looked past that they did with Rubisky,
you know, a couple of years ago. This is a
bad quarterback class. So that helps too. Like if he
(01:05:03):
was in last year, the thing that would have gone
against him is the quarterback class was deep and it
was really good this year, you know, Dwayne Haskins Also
if one year starter. Now, if you to ask the
people at the Ohio State program, they I'll tell you
he should have been starting two years ago. But Urban
treated J. T. Barrett like his son, so he was
killing it in practice. So that will like that didn't
the the U n C s at the opposite about Robiscuit,
(01:05:25):
like he just wasn't good enough, he wasn't ready. That
was not the case with Haskins. That's why I think
at the end of the day, Haskins is gonna go one.
He's six four through forty eight touchdowns from Ohio State.
He looks like a blue chipper when he walks in.
I've heard his characters great, so I he's just a
better prospect than Murray. But Murray the combine is gonna
be the first time every head coach meets him in person,
(01:05:47):
and most of the general managers meet him in person
that that's gonna be pretty tellent because on tape, everyone
that I know in the league just is blown away.
They think he's incredible, but they haven't seen him in person,
which you know, I know means a lot because you
can eyeball what a gay. They're around NFL players every day. Um,
we haven't heard anything on Todd Gurley getting operated on.
(01:06:08):
So do we do we just take this to believe
he fell out of favor. It's kind of weird, just
I mean, the guy was having a borderline m VP
season and then it just fell apart. The one thing
I don't think the reason, I would say, I don't
know that. I don't know anyone with the RAMS, but
I've always heard he's a high character guy. They clearly
to pay him that much money at at the running back,
(01:06:29):
they loved him. I've never heard that he's ever been
a problem or anything. Uh. Now, at the end of
the day, we've heard that about a lot of NFL players,
and they've been a problem, So I'm not discounting that.
But I really think at the end of the day,
he was just injured and he just, for whatever reason,
he could kind of heat up and then it would
start feeling weird. You know, some players just can't play it.
(01:06:51):
Not is skilled guys, you know they gotta be. You
see that a lot in basketball. They don't know how
to play. Now the great players do. So that if
that is truly the case that he was, he was
banged up, and he was and he just couldn't quite
figure it out for him to be an all time
great and where he should be with his talent, He's
gonna have to learn that because right now that that
(01:07:12):
was a problem. I mean, if they had a healthy
Todd Gurley in that game, because a couple of runs
he did have in the Super Bowl, like damn, it
doesn't look bad, and then he would just disappear. It's
one it's one of the most bizarre things, you know,
we've seen since Malcolm Butler a year ago. If if
the if the Cardinals were to want Kyler Murray and
take him number one overall, where is that what makes
(01:07:33):
the most sense to trade Josh rosen Brady's backup because
are they gonna they wouldn't get a first don't think
for him? Well, I think they might get the Patriots first,
which is thirty two, So then they would get Kyler
Murray number one. You have picked thirty two and pick
thirty three, like if you were submitten with Kyler Murray.
(01:07:54):
And I think they like Rosen, but you know he didn't.
You did a game. I mean, he didn't have a
great year, even in the lines. And I like to no, no,
but some and I look, look, there's there's a lot
to Josh. And you talk to Josh and just a lot.
There's a lot to unpack there. But his offense, his
offensive line, his offensive line was a joke. Their play
calling was a joke. Um, it was just a weird year.
(01:08:18):
But wouldn't you argue if you have an awful offensive
line and they have the worst offensive line in the
NFL the way to make it look serviceable as with
an athletic quarterback. And that is not Josh Rosen's deal.
He's like a twenty four year old elite manning. That's
kind of his style. He's a dinosaur inside the part.
He's not gonna be able to move so and it's
hard to just improve your offensive line overnight. They're not
(01:08:38):
gonna be that much better this year. But trade, you
trade out of that number one pick and you load
up with draft I mean, like, look, the culture able
to do it, We're able to rebuild their offense. Yeah,
they could, But I I think you could go both ways.
You could go, well, we could trade this guy, go
with Kyler Murray basically start from scratch. Also get another
first round pick. Then you've got ambo kind of the
(01:08:59):
same thing, and you can have a guy that your
head coach truly wants and you can build around. Now.
I know they've said all the right things, but we've
seen coaches for a million years say one thing and
do another. Now again, it just gets back to are
they really gonna take a five ft nine guy number
one overall? But I said the same thing last year,
are they're really going to take a six ft guy
number one overall? And then it ended up going number
one overall? So the league is just dramatically changed. Um,
(01:09:24):
you're here, you're you. You love to talk. Raiders obviously
live in northern California. Nobody knows where they're gonna play.
What do you think they do in this draft? I
think it's probably gonna work out pretty well for him,
with a quarterback probably going one or two, maybe maybe
both quarterbacks go ahead of them, and a really good
defensive player falls right to him. So whether that's who knows,
(01:09:46):
we haven't seen boss medical. He's gonna go to the
combine the sports turning a surgery. I don't think it's
crazy that he falls there. But even if he doesn't,
maybe the kid from Alabama, the kid from Kentucky. And
then to me, you gotta go weapons offensive, big weapons,
So nikkil Harry from Arizona State, one of the kids
from Old Miss. You know, with those mid twenty picks,
you need a big receiver, and then there's a couple
(01:10:08):
of sweet tight ends that they need to get a
big tight end. Because when Derrick has had success in college,
it was with Davante Adams, who was a jump ball
type guy. In the NFL, it was with Crabtree, who
crushed it for the first two years in with the Raiders,
because Derek throws it up a lot. And if you
get a guy with a big catching radius, which they've
never really had a good catching tight end. I mean,
they had Jared Cook, but he's like a basically receiver,
(01:10:31):
like a Gronk type. I'm not saying one of these
guys from Iowa's gronk, but everyone I talked to in
the league said both of them are studs. They're better,
much better prospects than like George Kittle was coming out.
Now George has become a good player, so I was hurt.
And he doesn't block, but but he's a freak freak athlete,
big time. So I think they go they go the
(01:10:52):
best defensive lineman whoever falls to them at number four,
which there. They had thirteen sacks last year, Doug the
next team had thirty. I mean, They're offensive line is atrocious,
so you gotta go d line, and then you gotta
go offense because I mean, Gruden is an offensive guy.
You have. You're paying your quarterback score points in this
league to win. Great stuff. John Middlecoff Three Out is
(01:11:12):
the podcast. You can check it out in the Heard
podcast network. I'm trying to think there's the Oh, the
last thing I want to ask you. Dak Prescott. He
came out and he's like, look, I don't have Gazelle.
I'm not I'm the primary breadwinner. Clearly position himself. I
want to get paid. The Cowboys don't have to give
him a new contract, but Jerry has said he will
(01:11:32):
be taking care of this offseason. Anyone in negotiations, gonna
ask for top Tyler. Any corporation is gonna try and
low ball him. What's reasonable to think they settle on.
It's a good question to me. He just doesn't take
priority because you do have the other in the next year,
and then you can franchise him. After that year, you
have a Marie Cooper that's fifth year options kicking in.
(01:11:53):
You always want to get that number down a little
bit and extend. You have DeMarcus Lawrence to star Pass Rusher,
the EB is coming up. They just have a lot
of guys that they got to figure out to pay that.
To me, just take priority. Given that he's not a
free agent, and he's been good and I like Dac
probably more than social media does or whatever. There is
(01:12:14):
some just kind of intangible stuff to his game. He
always plays better latent games. But he is not some
elite guy and he's never gonna be. If he right
now would sign a five year basically average twenty million
dollars a year, I do that in a heartbeat. But
the way he talked and just the way these guys
think and the way the agents think, I don't think
they would ever do that, So I would have no
(01:12:34):
problem playing it another year. It's not like the fan
base would be mad. I don't think the fan base is,
you know, beating down the drum to get him signed
long term for thirty million dollars year. He hasn't earned that.
He's just not that good and we've seen what happens
when you do do that and the guy isn't good enough.
Like Stafford, who at a younger age was much better
than back now he's just kind of lost. But you know,
(01:12:55):
he just got thirty million dollars a year and he's
look what that does with your franchise. So if you
are gonna go huge, huge money, he better be Rogers
or Brady or a guy like that, or else you're
just kind of screwed. Awesome stuff. John mindlicof Three Out

That's where you get the really good stuff. Midlico, thanks
for joining us, dude, Thanks dogger, I have a good one.
All right, let's get to Dan Buyer. Dan when he
(01:13:17):
got well on this Valentine's date, they weren't loving the
rain in l A. But the sun is trying to
break out and we're gonna have golf in them. Yeah,
just a matter of minutes Genesis open. About ten groups
got out of the course earlier today, including Phil Michelson,
who had a heck of a par on the par
four tenth or the par four tenth pull that is,
however that score washed out. Is the PGA Tour decided
(01:13:37):
to clean the entire scoreboard of the scores from this
morning and started new His plays about to get underway
from l A tonight today started over. Yeah, they're going
to start over. Yeah. So they had ten groups on
the course playing in heavy rains. Instead of counting those
scores today because the conditions were so poor, they're gonna
it's a break for the people who were out earlier
(01:13:58):
and playing in the awful rain. They're just gonna start
a new coming up in a few minutes four forty
Eastern time. And it's about four thirty eight Eastern time
right now, and the sun is trying to peek out
because we're not far from Riviera just a few miles
down the road or our Fox Sports radio studios, the
Gander RV duels at Daytona or tonight on Fox Sports One.
I'll start at seven o'clock Eastern time. Is the rest

(01:14:40):
have named Jacob Degram as their opening day starter. Matt
Harvey out ten days for the Angels is the picture
has a glute strain suffered in workouts yesterday and free
to quarterback Nick Foles. The Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly have a
mutual interest in each other. This, according to the NFL Network,
will be back to the Doug Gottlib Show in ten seconds.
But first a word from farmers. From a dog accidentally
flooding a living room to a dog taking a joy ride,
(01:15:01):
we've covered it. Talked to farmers. We know a thing
or two because we've seen a thing or two. We
are farmers. Under written my Farmers truck fire insurance exchanges
and affiliates products not available in every state. Did you
get buyer? Did you read this story about Matt Kutscher
who won in ply Dol Karmen. Yes, yeah, it's been
going on for a little while and now it's kind
(01:15:22):
of hit the mainstream. But it was a Twitter golf
story a couple of weeks ago, and now it was
kind of jumped to the mainstream. Okay, so let me
let me see if we get this straight. Okay, So
there's a golf dream and I've actually played that course
at my coba and um uh in ply Dol Karmen,
and so I believe his regular caddy didn't make the trip, right,
(01:15:44):
John Woods is regular caddy. So he hires a local
guy uh name garal Ortiz, and he agreed to pay
him four thousand dollars for the week. Like that, that's
the deal they agreed upon. Ye three, I think was
the Yeah, three or four? Could your end up winning
the tournament? Which is one point to nine million dollar payout?
(01:16:06):
One point made our payout? So could Cher ends up
paying the Ortiz the caddy five thousand dollars gives a
little here's a thousand dollars bonus, he wins one point
to nine, and uh, that's when he reached out to
Mark Steinberg Steiny who's also Tigers agent, and asked for
(01:16:27):
fifty thou dollars. Correct, that's my my getting my getting
the timeline events correct. Yes, but there was a lot
of yeah, there, that's that's that's correct. You know what
are you gonna say? Go ahead? No, there was there
was a lot that kind of went on behind the
scenes and how what actually went down, and then Mark Steinberg,
uh you know, responded in his way, but there seemed
to this be went out a couple of weeks. But yeah,
(01:16:49):
I felt that fifty thou dollars should have been the uh,
the the amount that he got. And by the way,
normally in the States, the caddy gets five percent of
the winnings, which would been a hundred and thirty thousand
dollars correct, And so Kultcher then end up going like,
all right, I'll give you an extra fifteen grand, and
the cat he's like, now you can keep your money.
(01:17:12):
The Yeah, the hundred thirty would have been about ten
percent of the winnings, but but the five percent would
have been, yeah, around fifty grand. Okay, so he wanted fifty,
which was five would have been a hundred and thirty.
I think Coutcher looks awful here. Yeah, I agree. I
just think it looks super cheap. I totally understand how
it works when your four in a country and you're like,
(01:17:34):
what are you kidding me? But dude, you pocketed one
point to nine million dollars. Just give the guy the
fifty grand and look but now and now looks terrible. Yeah.
And as part of the story, the money that he
got was in an envelope and Doug it was it
was made up of hundreds in twenties and like down
to five, so like so like a lot of thought
(01:17:54):
went into it of like, okay, we're gonna just give
them five thousand dollars. As as they said, part of
their agreement could have been life changing money for this guy.
But instead it's not I think you look really cheap.
I think you look really bad. That's just that's just
a bad look, dude. And I'm not I'm not trying
to get into anybody's pockets. And I understand you gotta
pay taxes and there's other things, and hey, we agreed
(01:18:16):
upon a deal, but come on Man. The problem I
have is all the justifying of it. If we had
a deal, we had a deal, Yeah, this is this
is good money for for that, you know for it's
a very It sounds incredibly, incredibly arrogant. It just it
just misses the market wildly. So. Chris Bizarre thinks Russell
(01:18:37):
Westbrook has some similarities to Michael Jordan. I give you
my thoughts next. From a hotter balloon landing on a
car to a load of concrete falling on one, We've
covered it. Talk to farmers. We know a thing or
two Because we've seen a thing or two. We are
farmers under written my Farmers truck fire insurance, exchanges and
affiliates products unavailable in every state. Did you know the
(01:19:00):
tax Layer has been in the industry for over fifty
years and their number one in the tax prep software
category on trust Pilot. That's two big reasons why you
should be using tax Layer to slay your taxes this
year maximize your refund at tax layer dot com every day.
(01:19:23):
This time, we'd like to play for you a portion
of a previous show Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports one.
And we had to search because all the other shows
I've been on earlier today. Uh, let's let's get you
to what the fox says. Valentine's Day is today? What
gift are you getting for the one you love? Say
four and a half carrot total weight diamond heart pendant. Now,
(01:19:46):
just to cub whose boss this Valentine's Day? At Hellsburg Diamonds,
Russell Westbrook told reporters he was blessed with the ability
to not give a bleep about what people say about him.
Here's what Chris Brussard said on his sputed I thought
the way he said it, blessed with the talent. That
is something that you're just blessed with, like you don't
(01:20:08):
care whatsoever what people think. Now, maybe you can get
better at it or maybe acquired to a certain degree,
but actually just not caring, going through life not caring
what anybody says or thinks about you is a blessing.
And I do think Westbrook has it. I think Michael
(01:20:28):
Jordan had it. I think Kobe Bryant had it. I
think Alan Iverson had it. So there are many positives,
of course, and that's what allows you to average a
triple double, which nobody ever thought that could be done
in today's NBA. I don't think it has to do
with averaging and triple double. I think it's more uh
not listening to the narrative about his shooting or shooting
(01:20:50):
too much. I mean, look at the triple double thing.
I'm trying to talk to people. It actually is more
obtainable now because there's so many more possessions and there's
so much more ball dominance. They just is um but whatever. Uh.
The ability to to tune things out and to focus
and not be engaged in Twitter spats or not care
(01:21:13):
about what people you don't? Now? Can you balance that
with also being coachable? That's the big question. Can you
not give a you know what but care about what
the important people say? There is a balance there. There
are plenty of guys who don't give a rip and
are really good players. There are plenty of guys who
don't give a rip and are really talented players, but
(01:21:35):
don't ever kind of breakthrough. Can you give a bleep
about what the right people think? Or do you simply
not care what anybody thinks? I know what he's talking about,
I understand what he's saying, and I do I do. Actually,
there's something to not caring about, uh, what daily shows say,
(01:21:57):
not caring about what local media national media say like
that that there is something to that. Um, But it's
also like, look, we're not we see it, you know,
we absolutely see it. We see the padding of the
stats with the rebounds, calling guys off, we see it.
(01:22:17):
We see we see the James Harden going for thirty points.
So these streaks stays live, even in blowout winds or
in blowout losses where normally he should be off like
these were not. We see all these things now, and
we're supposed to pretend like we don't see him and
not call you out for them. So I I get it,
(01:22:37):
I understand it, But I also think that he's in
denial if he thinks that we're just dopes for pointing
out the fact that point guards don't have to rebound,
and yet he does. He pads his stats some and
he's helped out by his uh his usage rating. That's
what the Fox said. Uh, you know, there's This does
(01:23:00):
relate to the Kobe Bryant, This does relate to Brussell Westbrook,
It even relates to Kevin Durant. Adam Silver seems to
be really popular, but Roger delle Swarts doing better, I'll
tell you what it means. Next to the Doug Gotlip Show?
What Up? Doug Gotlib Show? Fox Sports Radio, brought to

Are Farmers? Happy Valentine's Day to you? Happy Valentine's Day
to you all? Um, ramos? Was there a big bouquet
(01:23:42):
of flowers for your pregnant wife? What did you do
this morning when your wife woke up? I gave her
a kiss? And you know, today's Tomorrow's her birthday, so
I kind of have to put everything together. So I
got her a dependant with her birth stone in it,
which is amethyst for February. So yeah, And also what
what color is? It's like a purple, which is her
(01:24:04):
favorite color by the way, all right, purple, which is
a favorite color? Um, what you're gonna say? Also what
else is? Oh? I got her she's always been wanting
a the phone charger in the car that kind of
puts on your car, You put on your like you're
mounted up. So it's in front of you. You You don't
have to look down all the time. Yeah. So I
got her that as well. Okay like it? She loves it? Yeah,
(01:24:27):
oh yeah, no, I I totally got it. Um, practical stuff,
practical stuff. What about your music would you do for
the fiance? Well, as you know, Doug, we were up
at quite an hour this morning, so she was fast
asleep when I left. Leave something behind that was actually
(01:24:49):
my name. No. Um, we are going up to Wine
Country on Saturday to handle some wedding stuff, so we'll
be kind of doing everything over the weekend. So you
didn't even do a card. I did not leave her
a card. No, but I have a card I will
give her. You mean you have a card you're still
gonna get No, I already have it. I just didn't
(01:25:10):
leave it. I haven't signed it or anything. Okay, all right,
well the pre purchased card. Look, here's my here's my thing.
It's never too late. That's a good thing for guys, right,
it's never too late. It is never too late to
go and get after and get after it and and
give her something. Um, and for ladies like, does it
(01:25:32):
really matter if he's Sue Evie super planner guy. You know,
I guess what are you doing the other three sixty
four days? That that's that's the argument against super Planner.
Valentine's Day, Valentine's Dad, What about you? Buyer? Buyer has
been married? What almost two years now, right or almost
almost two years? What? What? Um? What? What? What have
(01:25:53):
you done so far? It all goes down tonight. Nobody texts,
Nobody texts Dan, dance phones going off. Dan's not paying
attention because it all goes down tonight. That that means
Lisa's listening and where he's not not not not give
(01:26:13):
it up, you know, to to to spice things up.
We had the electrician come over at eight am. No,
not what you think, not, but you were gone at
eight am. It's funny how the electrician came over. Geez, guys, Doug.
We had to take it down a dirty dark alley.
Come on, I don't know, I mean, I don't know
how you guys roll up you know it gets her
(01:26:34):
up there in Santa Clarina. I don't know you guys
roll up there. Yes, No, we'll celebrate tonight. We kind
of decided that yesterday. Yeah. It takes it like in
the rain. It takes you two hours to get the
work anyway, so you know, there wasn't much happening this morning.
I'm cautious about complaining about the rain, just because we're
on all over the country and you know, and other
parts of the country they have ridiculously bad weather, cold weather,
(01:26:58):
and we have had a we we have had a
really bad winter. But it's just a lot of rain,
Like we're gonna get two or three inches of rain,
I guess in this twenty four hour, which is of
the rainstorm, supposedly the worst of all. I wasn't complaining.
I was just saying because I watched he was. I
was complaining without complaining. That's what I was doing. You know,
let's do that kind of magical thing where you complain
(01:27:19):
without complaining. All right, we'll happy Valentine's Day to you,
you and your significant others out there. Hopefully you've got
something done if you didn't just stop and running the
CBS and you know, look, what's what's amazing about women
is there always like no, really, it's the thought that counts.
Did you do something thoughtful? Maybe at the last second
you're like, well, you could have put more thought into it,
like I thought the thought was all accounted anyway. I'm
(01:27:42):
not speaking from from personal uh, I'm talking about guys
in kind of in general, in general. Uh. NBA Commissioner
Adam Silver said he hasn't even any thought to inquiries
by NFL owners about his willingness to switch leagues and
become the commissioner of the NFL. While Silver did not
explicitly confirmed that you've been approached by NFL owners, sources
close to the situation told ESPN that several UNFL owners
(01:28:04):
have tried to persuade Silver to run their league over
the course of the five years as NBA commissioner. Silver
has been also approached by number fortune five companies, according
to sources. You know this strikes me as music when
you hear this, What do you think? Uh sounds like
Adam Silver is a really popular guy. Yeah, yeah, he
(01:28:25):
just he has he's winning the popular vote, not to
uh not the electoral college. I look at this and
I say his he wants a contract bump, That's what
I hear. Because what year is its two nine? Correct?
(01:28:46):
Roger Goodell signed a contract extension through two thousand twenty three.
It could pay him up to forty million dollars per year.
Guess who's not going anywhere anytime soon, right, Like I
love my media brethren, I really really do, and I
think that Adam Silver. I know I have friends that
(01:29:08):
know Adam Silver really well, and they all say, like,
great guy. I've had him on UM, I've had him
on the radio, and uh, he's always been a phenomenal guy.
And his contract runs through two thousand thousand four. But
the idea that that all of a sudden, this kind
of leaks out, like, Hey, a couple of guys have
(01:29:30):
approached him, why don't you come over and run our league?
When a year ago Roger Goodell renegotiated his own deal,
which does mirror that of Adam Silver's, strikes me as
Adam Silver's probably making less than ten million dollars a year,
Rogerdale is making in the thirty to forty million dollars
a year, and they're both they're both working at the
(01:29:52):
behest of their respective owners. And you know, you're making
four times as much for the for what's perceived as
the same job. I don't buy this as reality. I
buy this as he's Twitter popular, which is popular vote,
which is not electoral college vote. It's better to be
(01:30:12):
respected and maybe a little bit this is, this is
and this is big for music. I don't know if
ram ram Moss family just strikes me as the nicest family,
so maybe he's one two gloss over on this one.
But there has to be a little bit of an
element of fear. Of fear, you know, wait till your
dad gets home. I'll you till I tell your dad
or your mom which you said to your teacher, right,
(01:30:34):
Goodell has some of that to him. There's a little
bit of fear. There is there a lack of trust.
Sure are some missteps he's had, okay, but he's running
a business better. There is a little bit of fear.
There's a lot more healthy respect, even if there's not
a like. Everybody likes Adam Silver. He's immensely likable. He
seems imminently reasonable. But you don't have to be reasonable
(01:30:57):
to run a league. You just have to be working
in the best interest of the owners so that their
league and more importantly, their franchises can make more and
more money while being valued at more and more money,
so that they can continue to just take loans on
the value of what they're doing and not lose money
on a yearly basis, and Goodell's teams do that. I
(01:31:20):
look at this, as you know, there's some in the
media that are anti Goodell. There's probably some NFL owners
that are anti Goodell. Everybody's pro Adam Silver. Adam Silver
is making a fraction of what Goodell is making, and
this is a way to negotiate while he's still under contract.
(01:31:40):
That's all it is. That's all that's taking place here
Doug Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. So you know,
I look at it, and that's how I see it.
He's winning the popular vote, not the electoral college. Kobe
Bryant was the same way, right, Kobe Bryant was Excuse me,
(01:32:01):
it was the opposite way. He would win the electoral college,
he wouldn't win the popular vote. There's a certain amount
of nastiness, of grit of to nasty, like you didn't
gotta be beloved, You don't have to be a benevolent dictator.
You just gotta get the job done. And remember Goodell. Financially,
(01:32:22):
what is Goodell's job. It's to keep those owners financially
in great shape. His job is not to officiate games.
His job is not even the correct officials. He has
people for that. His his his his challenge is to
continue to grow the game even though the participation in
(01:32:42):
his game is shrinking, and so far it's working. We'll
see if it works long term. NBA champion kran Butler
Tough Juice joins the show. Up coming next, we'll ask
him about the state of the Lakers, can they in
fact turn around? We'll ask him about the state of
the Celtics. What does he think about uh, this narrative
that with Kyrie they're not as good as without Kyrie?
(01:33:06):
And um, what about the Warriors halfway through the season
or up until the All Star break to the number
one see in the West. But are they actually better
or as good with the Marcus Cousins as people thought
they would be. We'll get to that next. In the
dug Otlip show for a car landing on a roof
to a car landing in the pool, we've covered it.
Talk to farmers. We know a thing or two because
(01:33:26):
we've seen a thing or two. We are farmers under

Cash offer not available in all areas. Doug Olive Show,
(01:34:14):
Fox Sports Radio. Antonio Daniels had joined us momentarily. We
get his thoughts on the Thunder, a team that that
he covers for a living and boy that you know,
look to to start to start the season, I told
people I thought the Rockets had gotten worse. You know,
(01:34:35):
I don't. I'm a I'm as big a Chris Paul
fan as anybody, but he has clearly hit a spot
in his career where he's not what he used to
be when he's healthy, and a guy who struggled with
injury isn't going to be healthy or as the season
goes on, whereas as the years climb up. Plus they
you know, they lost the reason. They had to make
(01:34:55):
some other changes in order to account for those salaries. Now.
I know they're playing a clap, but I thought the
Thunder of the second best team. If Paul George improved
in year two, who knew that Paul George be an
MVP candidate. That's what he's playing. Like. Then you look
around the league and the Lakers have struggled with injuries
and with consistency of outside shooting. Like who else is
there in the West? Spurs no, Mavericks, No, and look
(01:35:20):
at the look at the playoff picture, and uh, you're
looking for another viable team to compete with the Warriors.
It might be the Thunder who I thought were the
second best team coming in Antonio. Daniez covers the Thunder
for a living. He joins us in the Doug Otlips
Show on Fox Sports. Rade, of course the NBA champion
during his days with the San Antonio Spurs. When when
(01:35:42):
this team first took the floor this year, how good
did you think they could be? Um? I thought that
could be really good. Um because of uh, free agency
not being an issue. If you go back and you
look at Billy Donovan's tenure in Oklahoma City, every year,
one of his top two players who's been a free agent.
(01:36:03):
So Kevin Durant was a free agent, and then Russell
Westbrook was a free agent, and then Paul George is
a free agent. And this is the first year that
Billy Donovan has had an opportunity to coach without one
of those top guys being free agent. And if you
know anything about this league, it is tough to coach
guys during free agency because of the constant distraction. Last
year it was different because Paul George wasn't comfortable because
(01:36:26):
he wasn't sure what he was gonna do as far
as free agency was concerned. But it wasn't just about
Paul George. Now you have Jeremy Grant and I'm not
discrediting what Carmelo Anthony has done in his resume, but
now you have somebody in that fourth spot that is
more conducive to today's NBA that once that role, that
is not worried about his shot attempts. You bring in
(01:36:47):
Dennis Shrewder, a starting point guard, as your backup point guard.
So okay, see has improved in a lot of areas athleticism, speed,
their ability to defend. But more than anything else, it's
just a comfortability now that you know this is your
team moving forward. I agree with you all accounts. Shrewder
(01:37:09):
is one of those guys that is he a top
ten starting the league, No even if his bottom five start,
you put him in the bench, and that energize and
he can take Russell off the ball some um and
like look like you said, like Mello was a mid
rain shooter trying to be a three point shooter and
you couldn't hide him enough defensively. And now you have
a guy who's a freak athlete who's totally bought into
(01:37:29):
his role. I see it. Uh, when did Paul George
start to play at this level? Um? Well, I think
the mindset, in the mentality was when the year started.
When I interviewed him before the year started, one of
the things he talked about was just how much more
comfortable he felt without free agency hanging over his head.
(01:37:50):
And it just it was just a matter of this
team understanding and the breaking their roles. Because you gotta
remember that they started out all four. This team start
it out owing four to start the season, Russell Westbrook
was in and out the lineup. He was injured, and
he was back and he was injured again. So it's
a lot that have gone on for this team to
(01:38:10):
actually find their stride. But once they find their stride,
and this is one of the things Russell doesn't give
credit for It's not about the triple doubles. It's about
his ability to sacrifice what he's always done, his usage rate,
which is the lowest and almost a decade, to allow
Paul George to help leave this team to victories. Understanding,
(01:38:30):
you know what, Yes, some Russell Westbrook, Yes, the average
and triple double for the last two years, but I
don't have to be Superman every night, Doug. I've covered
games this year where Russell was taking three shots in
the second half and four shots in the second half
to allow Paul George to do Paul George things and
Dennis Shrewder to take over in the fourth quarter. So
we can talk about Russell Westbrook's triple doubles, but the
most impressive thing for me are the things that he
(01:38:53):
is doing that don't show up on the statute. Why
can't you shoot anymore? When he's just struggling with a shot,
He's just struggling the shot. And I'm gonna be honest,
I'm not tripping on it right now. I'm not because
if if this was a conversation that we were having
and the thunder were losing basketball games, I get it.
I completely understand it. But this is a team that
(01:39:14):
is thirty seven and fifteen after the last four games.
After the first four games of the year, they've gone
thirty seven and fifty after starting off oh and four.
So if Russell westbrook lack of ability or inefficiency has
led to the else, you know what, this is the
conversation we can have. But yeah, he's struggled and shooting
the basketball, but this team is still winning because he
(01:39:37):
doesn't have to be that guy every single night. No, no,
I understand that, But why can't I mean, at this
point in his career, usually that's when guys really start
to shoot the ball. Well he's not. I'm just wondering
why that is. I don't know. I don't know. I
mean right now, he's just I can't call it. You know.
I wish I could tell you, and I'm sure he
(01:39:59):
wish either. But you know, just to a third of
the season left and if Russell or should I say
win Russell find that shot, then that makes this team
to a completely different level moving forward. Doug Olive Show
here on Fox Sports Radio. Do they have the shooting?
I mean, that's that's the big question for the playoffs.
(01:40:20):
Do they have the shooting to win big in the playoffs.
You know, at one point I questioned it. But if
you look at the last five games, with the way
Paul Georgia shooting, the way Dennis Shrewder is shooting, you know,
the way that some of these guys are really stretching
the floor, you know, like man, at one point I
questioned that, and I think that maybe the biggest weakness
(01:40:42):
of this team moving forward. But they are really knocking
this shot down. Now. The question is can that carry
over to the playoffs? And if that carries over to
the playoffs, you're talking about a team when the roster
built to push. I'm not thinking beat, but push the
Golden State Warriors. What about the Warriors? What's your when
(01:41:03):
when you see them play now? Are they as good
as they've been, better than they've been, worse than they
used to be. What's your assessment of the curtain state
of the Golden Warrior Golden State Warriors. I think they're
still the front runner, but they have some issues. Um,
Draymond Green, it's not the same Draymond Green he's been
(01:41:26):
in the past. There are many teams that are completely
disrespecting him by dropping off of him. And like I
said with Paul George. There's an uncomfortability that's presence because
the future is unknown. You don't know what Kevin Durant doing,
you don't know what Clay Thompson is doing, and it's
tough to be at your best with free agency hanging
over your head. Yes, I think they're the front runners.
(01:41:48):
And I think excuse me, Billy Boogie Cousins coming back,
he ignited from life into into that team. But this
is not the same Golden State Warriors as as past.
I don't think they they instill as much fear in
some of these other teams as they did in the
past as they you know, so I don't know. They
(01:42:09):
still got some things they got to figure out. But
if I was a betting man and they hadn't laid
my money down today, I would put it on Golden States.
What about Houston? I you know, look, I feel like
that the Chris Paul contracts gonna be an albatross. I
know they don't have Capella, they haven't been fully healthy, um,
but I don't think they're as good as they were
(01:42:30):
last year? Am I crazy? Oh? No? I definitely think
you're you're You're right on with that, And for me,
I like to give credit to guys that aren't there anymore.
Trevor Reason, Luke bay Mute. You have two guys that
you allowed to walk out. They had a defensive mindset,
and now you're basically asking James Hardy to do it all.
(01:42:51):
And Kobe Bryant said it bad. That's fantastic to watch.
What he's doing is historic anytime you're in the same
conversations what chamberly, But when you start coming to the
playoffs and the referees kind of swallow that whistle a
little bit, that is not championship basketball. And I think
we all know that, and I think James Harden knows that.
With a healthy Chris Paul and a healthy Clint Capella,
(01:43:14):
maybe that changes things a little bit. But I do
agree with you. I don't think that there is dangerous
as they were a year ago, mainly because their defensive
identity is not the same as it was a year
ago when you allowed Trevor Or Reza and Luke Bamute
to walk out the door. Antonio Daniels joining us in
the Doug Gotlip Show on Fox Sports Radio, do you
think the Lakers team of beat Oklahoma City in Oklahoma
(01:43:35):
City can turn this thing around man that you know what, man,
I think it's hard because when during the trade that
line there were two locker rooms that were severely splittered,
and it's tough to recover from that. One was New
Orleans and one was the Lakers. And the tough that say, well,
(01:43:57):
you know what, man, you gotta put that behind you
and move forwards, because now, if the trade didn't happen now,
in the back of your mind, you're probably thinking, if
it didn't happen now, it's probably gonna happen in the summertime.
So how confident are you moving forward with this Laker roster?
I mean, the fact of the matter, if they got
the best player on the planet, Lebron James, and that helps.
(01:44:20):
But you're also in the Western Conference where teams are
competing for playoffs about almost every night. So Dallas and
some of these other teams that currently aren't in the
playoffs are still fighting to make the playoffs. So there
are no nights off anymore. So you can't get away
with some of the things that you may have got
away with him in Cleveland when you're playing against teams
that are making vacation plans already in the West it's talented,
(01:44:45):
it's deep, and guys are trying to make a run
for the playoffs. So if Lebron James can put his
cable on like he's done in the past, then yeah,
I would have to say I would side with Lebron
James over the Sacramento Kings. But I think it's gonna
easier said done, I tend to agree with you. What
do you think of the Celtics, Um, there are some
(01:45:05):
that believe they're better without Kyrie Irving. Danny Ainge disputed that.
He's like, look, look at every metrics that I would
point out. You know the reason he didn't play in
some of those games was because they knew they could
win those games without him. Um And I actually think
he's been playing some of the best basketball of his
career before he end up getting getting hurt. But but
(01:45:26):
there there are something like, look, they're tending to without him.
They're better without him. The ball moves better without him.
What's your thoughts as a guy who played the position
at the highest level, you need star power to win.
You need star power wins. And in the beginning of
the year, um Well, NBA Radio we discussed the Celtics.
My take on the Celtics were they got some things
(01:45:46):
to figure out because that team that they were a
year ago is not the same team they are returning.
Gordon Hayward wasn't there, Kybe Irving wasn't there. So basically,
what you're asking of Danlen Brown and Terry rose here,
who we're basically riding in first class last year, you're
asking those guys to go back to coach and that's
(01:46:07):
very difficult for guys to do that are playing for
a contract. It's hard to ask guys like that to sacrifice.
And Kyrie Irving is a free agent. So you're basically
if you're Brad Stevens, now you gotta put you gotta
work ego management into your coaching. When last year you
can just go out and play, ask guys to be
who they were. Now guys aren't allowed to be who
(01:46:29):
they were because now you're adding different guys to the equation,
not just regular guys. Gordon Haywards an All star, Kyrie
Irving is an All star. So when you add those
guys into the equations, now Terry Rosier has to take
a back seat. Now Dayla Brown has to take a
back seat. So to figure that out, especially when guys
are coming up on big time deals when they get
to get paid. Man, that's easier said than done. I
(01:46:53):
agree with you, it's really really hard to get the
complete buy in. But that's kind of the nature. That's
kind of the nature nature of the business, all right.
So if you had to pick one team out of
the East, who would it be? I picked Toronto when
the year started. That was my That was my best
team in the East because they were the best team
in the East last year and they got better. So
(01:47:15):
you add a top five player in the league, you
add a really really good three and D guy in
Danny Green, and now with the addition of Martin Gassoul,
you add a more skilled valanciotists out there. Their issue
has never been chemistry. It was Lebron James. Now you
have Lebron James in the West. It'll be interesting to
(01:47:36):
see what they do like because now you're not just
playing for just for the second plane. If you are
michi Ujeri and that organization, you're playing Detroy and keep
Kawaid Leonard in Toronto Long Current. So you understand that
a first round exit or a second round exit is
not enough to get it done, and they were the
(01:47:59):
best team in the last year record why and they
got better over the summertime, and they got better during
the Tramy deadline. So if I had to pick a
team right now, because of their experience, because of their chemistry,
and because they have so many versatile guys you know
O G and these guys that have been proved every
single year, I gotta go with Toronto. Awesome stuff. Antonio Daniels,
(01:48:23):
he covers the Thunder for a Living Fox Sports Southwest. Antonio,
thanks so much for joining us for sure, Doug anytime,
pleasures all mine. Tonya Daniels, great basketball player, probably even
better uh NBA analysts joining us on the Doug Gottlip
Show on Fox Sports Radio. Let's get you to Dan
buy or find out what's going on at Soggy Riviera.
(01:48:44):
Not not not much. But the players are back out
on the course first round about fifty minutes in. They
did try to play earlier today ten groups got out
on the course, but rain then came so they ended
up wiping out those ten groups scores from earlier and
are starting a new and one of the reasons to
Doug some green issues. They actually moved three of the
(01:49:05):
pins on the course as well that we're set from
this morning. Put them in different pin locations this afternoon
at Riviera. There is no way they're going to get
the first round completed today. In fact, the Guy's team
off later like Tiger Woods, may not even hit the
course today, but the first round play is underway as
the first groups are just going off in Phil Mickelson
early on his rounde. Some news just in from San Diego.
(01:49:26):
The San Diego Union Tribune reports that Padres general manager A. J.
Prelor flew to Miami this week to meet with Manny
Machado and his wife, as the twenty six year old
shortstop still trying to find a home as he remains
a free agent. Matt's have named Jacob Degram is their
opening day starter. Will Angels pitcher Matt Harvey is expected
to be out ten days after straining his glutes in
(01:49:47):
drills On Wednesday, The Athletics says Markief Morris is going
to sign a free agent contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Gander RV duels at Tatona tonight on Fox Sports One,
starting at seven o'clock Eastern tom That's where the rest
of the field for the Daytona five hundred will be set.
Of course, you can see the Great American Race coming
up on Sunday on Fox with covert starting at one
o'clock Eastern time on Sunday. We'll be back to the
(01:50:10):
Doug Gottlieb Show in ten seconds, but first to work
from farmers. From a dog accidentally flooding a living room
to a dog taking a joy ride, we've covered it.
Talk to farmers. We know a thing or two because
we've seen a thing or two. We are farmers under
written my Farmers truck fire Insurance Exchange. Then affiliates for
parksun available in every state. Doug Gotlim show here on
(01:50:36):
Fox Sports Radio. Man, do we still have a good
portion to get to? I'll only say this, um yeah.
I mean like, look, if you're made in Machado, the
idea of going to the Padres, it just it feels
like a money It doesn't feel like a strong negotiating play, doesn't.
(01:50:59):
And I get the whole like what the Padres have
done and building up their farm system to where you
feel like they're a year away from being really talented
with young players and maybe two years away from competing.
And you know, Arizona's blown their thing up. People thought
that San Francisco would make a make a big splash
(01:51:19):
and go and get Bryce Harper. They haven't. They had
a terrible season. Colorado. You know, Nolan Arnado is a
free agent at the end of this season. Thoughts are
he'll come back to Southern California, but we'll see, maybe
he takes hometown discount. But there's a lot of questions
whereas padres to put themselves in a position in the
(01:51:40):
years to come to compete, have a bunch of guys
in a player control and they'll have all that money
to spread around. But like, didn't we see this with
Jihn Carlos Stanton in Miami? And I just don't know
if that becomes a strong nick like Machado. One of
the things in order to drive up your value is
to get somebody to give you a real offer with
a two or a three next to it. You know,
(01:52:02):
are two or two d fifty million dollars. But I mean, like, look,
if you're the White Sox, so you're gonna say like
or maybe the Phillies. Like when these guys aren't looking
at legit competitors, do you think all right. I mean
they're just and I get it, like I get you're
out for the money, like this is generational wealth. But
(01:52:27):
one of the things that happens here and Machado has
been in Baltimore where for the most part, they didn't
have a great shot to win. He obviously had a
great shot to win with the Dodgers. That didn't go
so well, although there were times in which he did.
He was super productive at times, but it just he
didn't seem like he fit with their culture and and
he didn't come across well, came across super rogantly. But
(01:52:48):
I think it's it's fascinating, like, all right, you become
a free agent. There's all this talk of the Yankees
who or the Dodgers who need a short stop, and
the Phillies who aren't far away, but they got a
bunch of money and they said they were going to
spend stupid money. And you look around and the Angels,
(01:53:10):
do they want to get somebody to go along with
Mike Trout Now that our pool Hols is finally looking
like he's close to hanging him up, and maybe eventually
they get out of try and just pay pay him
to walk away. I don't know you can signed with
the Padres. Huge for the Padres, because side with the
Padres B would be weird. Would be a lot like
(01:53:32):
John Carlos Stanton when they had when he signed with Miami.
And remember the Miami deal was very much backloaded and
was very much his option. But we'll see as they
try and drive those those values way up, a super
owl m v P might have a new home. No,
not Joe Flacco. That was yesterday, someone else. Find out
who next. From a heartble loon landing on a car
(01:53:54):
to a load of concrete falling on one, we've covered it.
Talk to farmers. We know a thing or two because
we've need a thing or two. We are farmers under
written my Farmers truck fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products
not available in every state. Did you know that tax
Layer has been in the industry for over fifty years
and their number one in the tax prep software category
(01:54:16):
on trust Pilot. That's two big reasons why you should
be using tax Layer to slay your taxes this year.

weekend long next week will be live in New York
on First Things First, busiest man in show business. Meanwhile, family,
family do tonight. Got to figure out a way to
make good uh for the wife and for the for
the girlies as well as my little dude. Lu dude's
got a Valentine by the way, I just want to
point that out, um, and and not like super shy
(01:55:02):
and embarrassed about it. Well, yeah, she's She's my Valentine.
She's just kind of into me. Just plays it off
with a stud right. Man. If I was if I
looked like him, I would have several Valentines. I just
remember wiping my tears away when I was in fourth grade. Actually,
when I was in fourth grade. It's a true story. Um,
(01:55:23):
when I was in fourth grade is when the Challenger exploded.
I'm sorry for the all time bummer, but that was
Wasn't that February that the Challenger exploded? I think it
was it was January? Oh man, in my bad January twenty.
Where Where were you when the when the Challenger blew up?
I was in uh six, I would be tenth grade.
(01:55:46):
Tenth grade? What were you doing? Were watching it? We
were watching it. We were watching it in fourth grade.
It was like the all time backfire, Like Christie McCullough,
she's a teacher, She's going up into space, let's watch Oops.
That was really sad. That was like, wait was that
supposed to happen? And all of a sudden, the teacher
turned off the TV, wrapped it up and just started
(01:56:07):
going about her lesson and we're like, wait, what happened?
What happened? Was that supposed to? Is that how it
usually works? And then and then I remember we had
skate parties and people donated money. It was just incredibly sad.
But like the moments of joy and teacher in space
into that that was me fourth grade. So I remember
having a skate party. Were you guys? Were you guys?
(01:56:29):
Weren't watching it? Ramos No, I think we were at
break that time. We were like in a brunch break
or something like that, and we did not have class
quite yet, but we definitely watched it as soon as
we found out. Yes, um, alright, stuck gotlip show here
on Fox. Sport Trader. Let's let's get you to the press.
The press. Now is a fantastic time to buy a
(01:56:50):
new Honda visit chop Honda dot com. Visit your local
Honda dealer today, buyer, Dan, buyer what you got. I'm
glad the l A School system could provide brunch to John.
Uh to be they had a they had a brunch
and a lunch. Apparently back in the day. Um, it
was probably earlier in the morning for John when it happened,
because I just remember it was we came back from
(01:57:13):
our our gym class and it was like right before
recess and lunchtime that we found out. So didn't see
it as it happened, but we did start off talking
about Valentine's stay. Do you guys see what Kanye West
did for Kim Kardashian West? I did. So there's uh
what looked like a thousand individual roses on the floor.
And then and then Kenny um Kenny G Kenny G
(01:57:35):
playing in his living room forever in Love. Yes, John
Ramos will have Kenny T playing tonight for Suzanne Kenny
Townsend who lives down the streets. Okay, so again, like
how do you when you when you see it, like,
how do you how do you feel about it? Well,
(01:57:57):
I mean it's it's yes, it's something that I would
never be able to do what I mean, Yeah, I'm
just wondering, like, yes, does he go to trek to
no no skip that track? Kenny? We don't like that one.
We don't like that by the way, like Kenny does
Kenny G have a significant other? Like does he? And
(01:58:19):
does Kenny G play for his wife or whatever? How
much does that cost? How much? What is the amount
which Kenny G goes, Okay, I'll come play a couple
of songs for you? What how much that cost? I
would say I would say six figures, but not five
or seven hundred thou dollars. You think he does it?
(01:58:42):
He probably was just down the street. Plus all the
social media hype that you're gonna get from just her
tweeting that it's gonna also be valuable to you. But now, now, now,
how's anybody else supposed to like, you can't hire Kenny G.
You've gotta top that. Kenny G. By the way, play
tomorrow night and I might have to do that. This
(01:59:02):
might be a great way to to make it. And
you know, I don't make it up to my wife whatever.
We you go to Kenny G tomor night. I fell
asleep on the beach once listening to Songbird by Kenny G.
I've actually seen Kenny G and con he's quite good. Yeah, No,
I like Kenny G. I do. I saw Kenny G
and Tony Braxton at the Pond. Tony Braxton opened for
(01:59:24):
Kenny G. That's how big Kenny G is. He is
a g. Not only did I have sunburned quickly to
finish my story? Good story, Yes I did. I did
that thing. Like the number of times played like was
four times all the other ones because it was just
like on repeats over and over and over. But Songbird's
a real good song. That's pretty cool. All rum Yeah,
(01:59:45):
it's okay. So how much music? How much do you
think that costs? Uh? Like seventy dollars? He lives in Malibu?
Where does where? Where do the Kardashians live? Where's Calabasas? Right, Calabasa,
So it's like a it's like a minute drive. But
it was raining a bunch today and there's mud slides
and stuff like that. I'm gonna go with the Hunter
(02:00:06):
grand But here's the thing, like if somebody goes like, uh,
if he goes like Kenny, this is Kanye Once you
come work, what would you charge me to play two
songs for my wife. I mean, like you sit there
and go like five hundred grand, right, and if he
goes like I'll pay you a fifty and you're like,
(02:00:26):
it's a twenty minute drive. It's two songs. It's a
twenty minute drive, Like you know what I mean? And
and do you and do you report that to the government?
Like that fascinate me. These are things that fascinating, Like
you in small bills as you do get wired, I'm
sure you got the money before you show it, Like
do you make sure you get the money before you
(02:00:47):
show up? Like you don't want to be that guy
who's like, yeah, hey, hey Kenny g is like hey, Kanye,
stiff me for playing those two songs for Kim Matt
offered five grand for Kenny you to play um. In
a follow up story from earlier that we had in
game time Indians picture Trevor Bauer now clarifying who he
(02:01:08):
meant assassinated his character during salary arbitration. Bauers says that
Major League Baseball's labor department was the one who do
the sabotaging, and not the Cleveland Indians, which were the
comments he originally told to USA today. Wait, what do
you say it? He says, Now, it's not the Indians.
He was the Major League Baseball labor departments that did it. Yeah,
(02:01:34):
he started changing your story and you started getting mad, like, look,
he was the one who was the jack you know
what doing the I'm gonna donate sixty nine nine? Nah? Nine? Yes?
How great would it be if Peeble Bryson came out
from another room and that you know, Kim Kardashian video
(02:01:56):
And by the time this naughtiser the free agent quarterback
Nick Foles at the Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly have a mutual
interest to go into A report from the NFL Network
Folds and the Jags possibility. It makes sense, right, it
makes sense. You hired d Filippo, who's his guy? They
badly need a quarterback? Like what do they do with
(02:02:17):
Blake Borrows? They own like seventeen eighty million dollars? Like,
did he sit there as the highest paid backup in
the league. That's a weird I'd that'd be a weird
quarterback room. The weird quarterback room. The forty Niners aren't
picking up the option ont of the contract on wide
receiver Pierre Garson, who played just eight games in each
of the last two seasons. Eight games last year, eight
games the year before. Yeah, Pierre Garson's washed, right, Yeah,
(02:02:39):
I just can't stay healthy. But he's also old. Ben
Ben d armand the club Prole, making his Web dot
Com Tour debut today, shot a seventeen on the power
four second hole at the sun Coast Classic in Florida,
put six in the drink. In fact, his dad was
outside the rope, starting calling, starting to call him roy
(02:02:59):
as an Yes today on the web dot Com Tour.
Can you imagine that scorecard? Like it just wasn't for
that seventeen, I would be leading this tournament. Like, yeah,
but you had a seventeen, dude, that's more than double
a snowman when out in fifty four came in at
one over part thirty seven. What's the most what's the
(02:03:22):
what's the most balls you've ever you've ever played on
one hole? If if I put three in the water,
I'm going up past the water and not hitting anymore.
Not just that you're in your bag and you're muttering
to yourself and you're throwing your club and you're like,
you guys, just play the whole. I'll meet you the
next team get out there. Of course that doesn't happen
(02:03:42):
to us. That's because we're champions of the Farmers Insurance
Open Pro Am, right, That's that's what you get. Play
in the South Course. Now is a fantastic time to
