don't want you Doug Gotlie Show, Fox Sports Radio. I
hope you're having a great day of Doug Gotlip Show,
broadcast live every day from sunny southern California. Welcome, Welcome,
Welcome in. Uh Marcus Smart you may have heard from
Dan buy are not gonna play tonight? Thigh contusion? Do
you guys call that a Charlie horse? Some people know
there's different different definitions of Charlie horse, but um, you know,

(00:50):
a deep thigh bruise and need of the thigh. Some
people call it at Charlie horse. You guys okay calling
it Charlie horse. I'm fine with that. I like that terminology.
It's not used as much as it was when I
was a kid. Maybe you were younger. We're not that
you're not that much older than you know what I
didn't mean, like were there was a spatial difference of
like thirty years when we were younger. I think that

(01:12):
term was used more. I don't think it's like Donnie Brooke,
It's not that's not it's not that old. Um. I
don't feel like it is Charlie horson a dated expression. Um.
I was trying to think if it's been canceled for
whatever reason's Charlie huff but I don't know. Well, listen,
it's it's degrading to Charlie's and the horses. Uh, yes,

(01:33):
I don't think it's been canceled. What do you think, Buyer,
do you think Charlie horse the dated term? Um? I
don't think it's used as much. Okay, that's what John said.
What's not always maybe linked to kind of uh like
a bullying like I remember guys in our elementary school
used to give the nerds like Charlie horses. And maybe
your big brother did too, Doug, You're he did? He did?

(01:56):
The spit thing? Was there a name for the spit thing?
When they pin you down and they the the spit
would drip down almost a touch, and then and then
you do it again. There was the and I believe
this term has been canceled, the the uh, the Indian
typewriter torture that was also the same position knees on
shoulders and the like you're doing, you know, and then

(02:16):
everyone's when you want to push the typewriter back and
you but it made you laugh, made you laugh more
than anything else. Typewriter torture, Indian typewriter torture. Now Atomic
set up as they no, I'm not gonna do that.
One that's atomy says that that is that is over
any line of what's acceptable in in in behavior between

(02:36):
between boys. Um, okay, so Marcus Smart is out. I
don't know if you guys understand this. I was listening
to cow Herd Ruler day and he was talking about
how he would rather have Draymond's career than Carmelo's career,
Draymond's career in Russell Westbrook's career, and I think, I mean, like, look,
he's won a bunch of titles, he's gonna be on TV. Uh,

(02:57):
it doesn't hurt that Draymond has a podcast with Collins Network.
It's like, h like I got it. Like, I think
it's an interesting argument to be made there. But this
is one you might want to recuse yourself because like, hey,
he's got a podcast, right, yeah, it's on the volume,
right yeah, who owns the volume? Cowher does? Got it? Okay?

(03:20):
But there is something. There's a talent that Marcus Smart has,
a talent that Draymond has that I'm not sure you
got that that we all truly understand and we can
uh that. There's a way in which you can evaluate
it statistically, and it's it was the I it's the
I hate him guy. I hate him. Here's what I mean.

(03:42):
I believe this in basketball that you have to have
one if you want to be really, really good. And
you look back at any historically great team, they all
have it. There's a guy who pretty much every game
he's ever played in his life, somebody on the other
team wants to fight. And it's oftentimes it could be
a mild mannered guy, but it's a guy who for

(04:03):
whatever reason, and like we can go through the is
he dirty, is cheap as the things he says or whatever?
But for whatever reason, there's that just that they may
not even cross the line of being dirty. But there's
the man. They're really close, they're really really close, you know.

(04:23):
I mean Kurt Rambis with the Lakers back in the day,
Danny Angel with the Celtics, right like heat heat, Danny Age.
I hate Kurt Rambis, hate him. Michael Thompson was that
guy with the Lakers, all right, Michael Thompson. Yeah, Michael Thomas,
like the nicest guy ever, like that dude was brutally physical, brutal.

(04:46):
Bill Lambier obviously with the with the with the Pistons.
I think everybody wanted to fight Bill mber rightfully so
like he was dirty. But it it worked. It worked.
You have to have one of those guys go one. Look,
give me, give me a team, give me a historically
significant team. They all have him. They all have a

(05:07):
guy who, you know, sometimes the backup point guard, you know,
Delhi when he was with Cleveland, even though he got this,
he had to start because Kyrie Irving got hurt the
first time they played him. But Matthew Dell of Advil
was that guy for the for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and
I mean Draymond's that guy clearly for the Warriors. And

(05:28):
Marcus Smart not playing tonight. That's Curtains. He's part of
the fabric of what makes them good. One, he's actually
a very very good defender, but too there's just that
thought of he's just a little bit over aggressive, a
little bit dirty. He throws his body into you, he he,
He runs in and and he'll box you out while

(05:49):
you're still up in the air where you gotta worry
about your feet, Like things that aren't illegal, but they're
kind of frowned upon, and he finds a way to
do them. And then those guys are almost always they
like they love it. They feed off the negative energy
of others. You know that guy, Right, that's who they are.
And it's interesting like in a pack of guys when
you go out you ever go out with buddies on

(06:10):
a weekend, right, there's always the guy who's unlucky in love.
There's always the guy who thinks he can pull all
the chicks. There's always the guy who's the uncomfortable drunk.
And there's always that one guy who either wants to
or gets into a fight. Right, we all know that guy,
Like what's his deal? You know, Like it's a birth

(06:31):
announcement party and yet he's getting into it with the dad,
Like what's the deal? Was like, ah, you know it's Jim.
He always wants to fight Somebody. Give him a couple
of pops and somebody wants to fight him. Like, you
can go play cards and somebody wants to fight him.
You can go out to a bar and somebody bumps
in shoulders with him. What what what? What? What? What? What? What? What?

(06:53):
What what? That's Marcus Smart. That's Draymond Green. All right,
that's p J. Tucker as p J Tucker. Like all
these teams, they all have one guy. You're like, I
hate take a Heat Tachoy, I hate him, I het him,
but he's on your team. You're like, yeah, I don't

(07:13):
really like him, but it's kind of cool. Everybody wants
to fight him. I love that. I'm glad he's on
our team. If you know what's on our team, I
would hate him. He's on our team, so I love him,
you know. And then if you chat one of your friends,
like I hate Mark Smart, he's he's a floppery story, Like, dude,
you're just soft. You're just soft. Markut Smarts on soft.
He's tough. But if he wasn't on your team, you're like,

(07:35):
I hate that guy. He's dirty, he's cheap. Go and
look historically at go thirty five years and you're gonna
find him on any NBA team, on any any championship
level one. You're gonna find that one guy. You know,
Steven Adams was kind of like that in No Clomas City.

(07:57):
But nobody want to fight Steven Adams like that would
not end well. Steve Adams has like seventeen brothers and
sisters and he's not the biggest, like I'm I'm guessing
Steven Adams. He's just like the strongest, the strongest human
being you've ever seen in your life. Like, yeah, I
feel like you could haul off and just punch him
and be like a Bond movie where he goes like
he just wipes it off and then smacks you and

(08:17):
you wake up and it's like Wednesday, Like wait, what
day is it? Every team has to have a Marcus Smart,
Every team has to have a Draymond Green. I call
it the Jrre Gutierrez. You guys ever heard that name?
Horri Gutiers, my brother was an assistant at Santego State
for eight years. This is when they first started being
good with Steve Fisher. They went from like the worst

(08:37):
team in California to the best team in California's over
eight years. So he leaves, he takes the Cow job,
and when you go for the Mountain West to the
Pact twelve, the idea was like, you can recruit a
higher Cowberth players. So he goes to a place called
Finley Prep. Finley Prep used to be the biggest prep
school in the Western United States Henderson, Nevada. Tristan Thompson
played there as well as as as others. So actually
I think Tristan was on this team. And it's like

(08:59):
his first day on the job at Cow and he
goes um and he sees the coaches and he's like, hey,
who should be recruiting. They're like, see the kid with
the ponytail. He's like the Mexican kid. Yeah, that one.
It's like he's terrible looking, like no real cut to
his body, kind of has a funky kind of shoots
the two hands, you know. He's like, I don't know why.
He's like wins every game and somebody wants to find

(09:21):
him on the other team. It's like really, so he's
there for like two hours one every game and somebody
want to find him every game. And then he played
at Cal four years, same thing, like, go look, they
won his senior year, he's packed All Player of the
Year and every game he played somebody want to fight him.
And he played in the NBA for like six different teams.

(09:42):
I think he plays down in Mexico. He's like a
legend Jory Gutiers. It's just that that that thing, I
don't know what it is, just I hate him thing. Yeah,
you gotta be able to play, and you gotta be
able to play with in your role. That's always been
Marcus Smarts. Thing is he shoots way too much for
a guy who doesn't shoot that well. But there's such
an incredible and an immense amount of value in being

(10:04):
that guy who everybody on the other team wants to
punch in the face. I just I just want to
just give me. I just want to punch up in
the face. I just want to punch up in the face.
That's Marcus Smart. All right, Oh this is good. Coming
up next, this is our first We are gonna day

(10:25):
day butt something. Oh debut. My pronunciation was bad, Sorry
about that kidding. We're gonna debut something. We're gonna debut
hockey night. You're like, what, Yeah, I've been told that
we don't pay at enough attention to the great sport
that is Chucky. So we will stand side by each

(10:46):
and we will, in very short order have Hockey Night.
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
gott Leap Show week days at three p m. Easter
noon Pacific. H Doug got Live Show, Fox Sports Radio.
You know I won't be accused of being the ultimate

(11:08):
sports guy. Last night I was. I had a beverage
with some buddies at a bar, and in walked up
a man, Stan Johnson for Stanley Johns from the Lakers,
and uh, I thought I had really really good um
uh etiquette. Etiquette Like my boys are like, why don't
you go to Stanley? Well, he's with a girlfriend, and

(11:29):
you know, I don't want to be that guy. Since
Stanley calls me, He's like, why am I sitting here
at a bar and you're not coming over and saying hi?
I was like, I walked over, was like, sorry, dude,
I just didn't know if you know, like you want
to night with your lady. You know. Anyway, I couldn't
have been couldn't have been nicer. But I was looking
up at the screen at this bar and I noticed

(11:50):
that the hockey was on, and I'm just you know what,
I'm I'm mystified that people think we don't pay attention
to hockey here at the Duck Atli Show. So with
that we get to a new segment of The Doug
Alling Show called Two Lies, One Cup. Great title. That's

(12:19):
a great title, really good title. Well you came up
with it, so no, no, you have to give all
this to Dawn. Buyer's great with names and stuff. He's
good at that. It was basically from the uh, you know,
from the works of a different game that's out there
something yeah, something like that, Yeah, something like that, you know,

(12:40):
the Stanley Cup playoffs why not which some may have
thoughts started on Friday. We're not gonna name any names,
but actually actually got underwear. We're talking about La Store. Hey, listen,
this is the This is the deal with the hockey fans.
Hockey fans are mad because nobody talks about hockey. Nobody

(13:01):
talks about the hockey. And then and then when you do,
when you do, you don't know what you're talking about.
You're talking about it, you have no idea. So this
is our way of wedding the appetite two lines, one cup. Essentially,
John Ramos is going to have to decipher which of
the three scenarios actually happened last night in the Stanley
Cup playoffs? Are the two lies? Which is the one cup?

(13:23):
You got that? Ramos? Oh? I understand? Yeah, ain't gonna
John Ramos? All right? Else? Can I start? Yeah, You'll
give yours, then Jason will give his. I'll give mine,
and then John you have to work shop it out. Alright,
all right, Ramos, Carolina, that's the hurricane. Uh scored three

(13:50):
second period goals to top Atlanta, Okay, five to one
in Game one of the Eastern Conference first round series. Alright, Jason,
your scenario, Okay, We're not going to give answers yet.
I got I gotta go. Two lies in one one
one cup, hey. John Austin Matthews scored twice and assisted

(14:15):
on another goal as Toronto routed Tampa Bay five to nil.
Soccer soccer little soccer Nils love it. John Max Struce
had five points in the Blues shout out victory over
the Minnesottle while enjoy a good Max Trusa hockey. Wow,

(14:36):
those are all good. Two of them did not happen.
One of them did I think Dougs did happen? Carolina? Yeah,
I think Carolin Um, I think yours happened. I think
Jason's did not. Okay, well there are two lies, and
there's that hence the name of the show. Okay one, Okay,

(14:59):
So dud was true, Dougs was the cup and you
and Jason were the lies. Okay, now I've got some
sound effects here. Okay, John, your assessment of Dougs being
true was did not happen last night? Did not happen?
Carolina beat the Boston Bruins. Atlanta is not in the

(15:21):
league anymore. Thrashes, They're god, they were thrashed, Yes, much
like nobody cares? Yes, where did they move? Who cares?
Atlantic moved to Winnipeg? Okay, the Jets, and the Jets
moved to Phoenix and there right the Coyotes, although they

(15:42):
bounced around and now they didn't pay the rent in
the Coyotes thing, right, and they nobody even knows where
they're gonna end up, kind of like the coyotes in
our backyard. Yes. Also, Mel nourished dras yourself a little chiuahwa.
So I missed that, John, John lost? If you would
have been right, you would have heard this, Yes, that

(16:04):
would have been That would have been the case now,
just just like they do on family feud or on
you know, deal or no deal. Would you like to
take a guess out if Jason or Mind which one
was the correct one. I would think Jason's was correct
because I don't know Max s truth That sounds like
a breakfast cereal. Max Truths is a professional athlete. He

(16:24):
plays for the Miami Heat. Yes not, and he had
five points last but it was against the seventies, so
that I got right. Yes, yes, except he was not
a breakfast hits truthful. I thought, maybe that's truthful. Austin
Matthews scoring twice is the lightning or the least to
go one nothing lead on the lightning and that go

(16:44):
down good. I like that hockey. Yeah, I love two
lies one cup. John's like the one lie. But that
part of that is John's personality could only be one line,
could be two possible lies. Said. If you guys to
like DJ, I like DJ. We all like DJ. Everybody
likes d J, you guys and the other teams that

(17:06):
he's played for, and well analytics and anyways, ran and
out of bounce playing the score. Nobody's talking about that.
Nobody's talking about the fact that we have three games
in one and we totally had the Seriously, we had
home court advantage, and we had issues with a bubble
gum in the locker room. Okay, a bubble gum issue
my voice. All of a sudden, I got my voice back,

(17:28):
and it screwed us up. That's what happened, and it
was in the bubble. How about Doc giving medical information today?
Joel and Beide feels a lot better according to Doc
Rivers m D. But one go as far as to
say that Embid would play tomorrow against the heat. Of course,
the Sixers center dealing with that orbital fracture and concussion.
Kyle Lowry not gonna play for Miami because of a

(17:49):
hamstring injury. US government has changed their stance teaming w
NBA star Brittany Grinder is being wrongfully detained in Russia.
Grinder has been detained for seventy five days. Espn with
the story refers that the government will not negotiate her return.
What would that be like like if all the places
to be detained, I'm gonna go Russia bottom five, right

(18:10):
like Britney Grinder is a superstar athlete. This is one
of those just so people understand. W NBA players make
a ton of money playing in Russia. Um during the
during the season, the NBA w NBA season is kind
of their off season. They play in the States. So
I just wonder if anybody's gonna go back there and play.
Why would you have Britney Grinder because you got a

(18:30):
little she had little uh medicinal hash ends up like
seventy five days in the Gulag. But that's illegal, right,
That's illegal to have drugs in Russia? And why is
she being illegally detained if if that's against the law,
she should serve time until she's proven. If she was
in like the Bain prison and she had to climb

(18:51):
out the top, nobody else made it, we should have
put that in rank them dou al. Russia definitely bottom
five Middle East in countries you would think in the conversation,
although yes, you know me, but you don't know like
the Saudis, they have so much money. I'm I don't know.
If they don't execute you, you think it might be

(19:12):
actually nice. I wish Switzerland would detain me. I gotta
be honest. I just want to just go to Switzerland
and retire. And that's. Uh. The problem with Switzerland is
all of their court system is like are they guilty?
Are they innocent? I'm kind of neutral towards it, you know,
UH love Switzerland. Major League Baseball right now, Mets leading

(19:35):
the Braves five for top of the seventh ending. It's
game one of a double header. Angels design ended out
field of Joe Adele for assignment, while Shohyotani back in
the lineup. Tonight he'll play in Boston against the Red
I thought that was there there there, superstar in the making.
They struggling, so they set him down. They set him down.
I mean like he's also got a residency in Las

(19:56):
Vegas when he was young. He sings his song when
he was young. How long am I in Triple A?
Liverpool top? The uh name is Joel? Sorry, I got
the joke. Ramos is a little he was. They thought

(20:16):
it was funny and then now he's going to give
a courtesy laugh. Anybody I don't get it is somebody
I don't get anxiety. Liverpool top to Villa Reale three
two in the second leg, winning five two on aggregate.
Now onto the Champions League. Yes, so it was it

(20:37):
was too nothing at one Liverpool scored three. Unanswered the
floodgates open? Or is that? Can I not allow to
say floodgates because that is somehow um disrespectful to people
who have suffered flooding. Floodgates open is an expression. No,
I know right, I'm just saying like we have to
guard all of our words. Now. Hi, uh, this is Joanne. Yeah,

(21:01):
my my not my farm and not my family's farm.
But I knew somebody who once lived on a farm
and it was flooded out. And when you say floodgates opened,
it brings back not memories for me, but possibly for them.
So could you please avoid that? Thanks? No, I have
in my inbox my heart has that new top microphone. Right,

(21:24):
you could push it and it goes right to the people.
We got any guests. The segment has gone completely out
there want to go, Jay st This is your John
to keep us in line. Did you see we're getting
guests a segment you got bucks in Boston seven o'clock
Eastern time. Falcons signed Gritty Jarrett to a three year extension.

(21:46):
Check out My way to slats of the world of
sports at Bett River Sports Book. Bette Rivers is the trust,
the name and online sports betting must be twenty one,
must be present in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, and Pennsylvania to
play gambling problem Call one eight hundred gambler Stuck Olive.
She you're on Fox Sports trait. You know what's interesting?
This is just a little game here, Okay, I want
everybody to bring up your NFL just NFL teams, NFL teams.

(22:08):
I was thinking about this because we were making fun
of Desmond Ritter who said he's not going to leave
Atlanta until he wins the Super Bowl. Right that was
wins the Super Bowl? And I was in desn't was
the third round pick? Yum and uh Malik Willis is
the third round pick as well. And so in no
way am I trying to diminish, like look I was.
I like to say it was the third round pick
in the NBA draft. There's only two rounds, I know anyway,

(22:30):
they were draft in the NFL. And but when you're
a third round pick, the likelihood that you're a long
term starter, he's not great. And I mean, the the
easy case study is we have thirty two NFL teams right,
how many of those teams have their starting quarterback going
into the season that are a third round draft pick

(22:53):
or later? Like I know of two obviously, I know
of Russell Wilson in Denver, and I know of Tom
Brady in it in UH Tampa. But outside of that,
how many others? Dak was a fourth round pick? Correct?
That was four? So a third or later, you're correct?
That's three? And all those are you know, you have
to one first ballot Hall of Famer and greatest of

(23:13):
all time, the other one likely to be a Hall
of Famer and Russell Wilson, and the other one um
business hall of fame not yet in the Hall of
Fame variety, but a really good football players. So those
those are three? Those are three? Okay, we have thirty two.
The Patriots they're gonna have a first round trafficks quarterback, right,
Mac mac Jones starting quarterback last year, Josh Allen to

(23:34):
a tug of vooa um. And who's the other team?
The Jets are what's his name, Zack Wilson, who is
the second pick overall. Okay, so they're they're box. That
doesn't mean that Zack Wilson is better than what Desis.
It could be. I'm just telling you in terms of
the odds generally being stacked against you. Right, Okay, So
then we go to the a f C North. Right,
Lamar Jackson was a first round pick. No matter how

(23:56):
maligned you'd like to thank Lamar Jackson was, he was
still a first round pick. Okay, Mark Jackson's first round
pick Cincinnati. There was number one pick in the draft Cleveland. Uh,
Shaun Watson was that same draft as Lamar Jackson Wasn't
he was he earlier? Anyway? He was? No, he's earlier,
but he was a first round traffic highly regarded one
A national championship. That's okay. So all of them were
first round traft picks. Right, Baltimore, Oh, Pittsburgh, So PITTSBURGHI

(24:19):
probably Kenny Pickett I think was the first Trump pick. Right,
either one of those first Trump picks. Um, the a
f C South. You have who's in my Why am
I blanking? Matt Ryan? Indeed? Okay? Right? A high first
round pick Tannehill and Tennis. Tan Hill was the top
first round pick with Miami, Trevor Lawrence and Jackson. Trevor

(24:40):
Lawrence and Jackson. And then you have Houston, which is
the one outlier, and he was third. Okay, so there
we have. Now we have a fourth. But now we
haven't quote me, but I think that was okay. He
definitely wasn't round one or two. Well, I think we
all agree he wasn't round one or two. Right, So
if you go through the league, now, okay, So then
we go at A see South, a f C West.

(25:01):
Those are all first round picks except for Russell. Wilson
was the third round pick. Right. The rest him were
all high for shrump picks. Okay, then we go NFC.
Let's start NFC West and work our way back. Kyler
Murray's number one pick overall in the draft. Matt Stafford
number one overall pick in the draft. Um, who's that?
We don't know what. Trey Lance was the third pick
in the draft? Um? And then Seattle we don't know

(25:22):
TBD Right. Smith and Drew lock were both second round picks,
second round picks, so they do not qualify for I
said third or later. Um, NFC North, you have Aaron
Rodgers was a late first round pick. You have uh,
Detroit was the first pick of the draft. Minnesota. Now
there's a he was a fourth round pick, Whinny kirk Cousins. Okay,
so now we have five five in the league. It's good.

(25:44):
Five Um Chicago first round pick obviously, did I miss anybody? Chicargo? Okay,
so we got that. Uh NFC South Tampa we already
covered with Tom Brady. Um Jamis was the first pick
in the draft. Carolina Sam Donald was the third pick
in the draft, I want to say, and then who
am I missing? And then Marcus Mariotta who was who

(26:07):
was the first pick of the of the draft? Going
back to second pick of the draft, second pick the draft,
I'm mistaken. Uh NFC East Cowboys. We mentioned dak Danny
Dimes was a first round pick, even if he flames
out this year. Um Jalen Hurts was a second round pick, right,
second round pick? Okay. And then there's the other team,

(26:29):
the Washington who's starting for Washington now? So what's his name?
Sarson Wentz who was like the third pick of the draft, right,
So I don't know. We kind of went around the
league there rather quickly, and I think we have do
we have five five that were third round picks? Five
lays Now, listen, that doesn't mean that it's impossible and
I think Ritters probably in the best situation. I would think,

(26:51):
I don't know. I don't think Malik Wills is in
a bad situation because we all know that we all
feel like Tannehill has a ceiling. But tan Hill has
been pretty darned good and pretty darn productive for the
most part, and once they changed systems, he turned that
thing around in Tennessee. I just it's one of those

(27:11):
things where you like, fellas, you haven't played a snap yet,
you haven't been an O T A yet, And it's
great to say and feel, but the reality is that
we just mentioned five first round picks. That's over the
last fifteen years. There's probably fifteen that have been starters
for more than just a year. That's a really hard
thing to do. So instead of hey, I'm here, I'm

(27:34):
here to win a super Bowl, Like, you gotta win
the job first, then you gotta win some games, then
you gotta get a team built. The mind too much
Debbie Downer, too much, Debbie Downer, too much, Debbie Downer.
Um Are we done with? Are we all set with? Um? Um?

(27:55):
You know, like, look, I love his talent and I
love him as a player. Are we good with John
Rand's dad and the showing down RAN's dad all the time.
Uh by er missed this yesterday? What about the comparison
that's been made between John Rand's dad and LaVar Ball.
I don't think we talked about that an air. I
thought that was an off air though, Like you think

(28:17):
you just just missed it on the air pretty quick. Look,
I love the fact that the dad is there and
he's cheering for his kid. How could you? How can
you not love that? But I'm just not. It's not
like it just always becomes a little bit too much,
Like get it, I'm a little little too much. He's thirsty,
he likes the attention. Do you think sit in the

(28:39):
front row courtside mugging for the camera. He loves the attention,
so that that always brings a bit of resentment onto itself, right.
I don't want to take his dad's actions and hold
it against the Grizzlies. But when he talks with Steph
Curry for a minute after Game one and Clay Thompson
comes over, I just got this sense that it's, Hey,
we're happy to be here Western Conference semifinals. You know,

(29:01):
even though we were the second seed, we have home
Court were a higher seed than this team. It seemed
that they it to me, made the sense that they
were happy to be there and happy to be considered, um,
you know, as one of the teams playing against the Warriors,
not like this is their enemy. I'm not saying the

(29:22):
other eight team thousand FedEx Forum felt the same way.
But the old, the old fat girl of the prom
thing just happy to be here. Yes, got it. That's
a that's an interesting one. That's an interesting one. I
just think it's just a little too much like it's
I did you see Clay? Clay kind of blew him off.
Clay was like, hey, Hi, Hi, yeah, okay, did the

(29:46):
hey man, you guys do we can't remember some of
his name. Oh, hey man, you know Emory. Of course
I remember you. I hate when people did that. You
don't remember me? Of course I do. What am I
supos to say? No, I have no memory of you.
I meet thousands upon thousands of people. I try and
hi to everybody. I have really really good recall. You're
one that slipped through. Should I do that next time?

(30:07):
I'm gonna do that next time. People say they want honestly,
but they really don't do do you remember me. Nope,
Now come on, we had we had a drink at
the Super Bowl Minnesota Like, Nope, nothing, I got nothing. Literally,
I gat nothing. You could hold your name up on
a license and I would be like, Okay, good to
meet you. It's gonna get old really quick, especially if

(30:29):
John Morant is going to be the star that we
think he is in the next decade or so. It
will get old very very quick. How great is it
that he was a zero star recruit? Though? There's the
there's the part that it goes counter to what I
just said about quarterback in the NFL, which is like,
go through the starting lamps tonight, Uh Memphis, okay, and

(30:52):
um Golden State. Do you want to who the most
heavily recruited player on the floor is starting line ups?
You wanna take Yess Wiggins. Wiggins would probably be number one,
and number two would be Jaren Jackson. Like those are
the two biggest, biggest recruits. Remember Staph wasn't offered by
everybody points out Virginia Tech and and his mom went

(31:15):
there and played volleyball there or whatever, but no one
else in the a CEC offered him either, right, So
I mean it wasn't. Wasn't like Seth Greenberg was the
only one who missed. There's a bunch of teams the
a SEC. They all missed. Clay. My dad had to
call Tony Bennett. It's like, you need to take Clay
Thompson's like, I don't know, kind of soft, kind of
aloof you know, did your dad throw on a Jane

(31:35):
Found exercise? He did not. He did not. Had he
grown in that sweatsuit. He got my mom from some
place in Palm Springs and a plant and a plant.
It might have done that. It might have done the deal.
What are you guys gonna get your mom's that's a
good that's actually a good thing. By the way, a plant.
To me, it is like I'm gonna give you something
and then you're gonna do all the work. It's like

(31:55):
giving someone like look in fairness, in fairness. Um, my
mom is really like her backyard. It's she's like a
wold recording. Now. It's like you know some people hoard
um things inside their house. Like she's like, um, what
are the kind of plants called that you don't need
a lot of water and they're really popular sucks. She's

(32:16):
like a succulent hoard, hoard hodd. It's close my mom. No.
She goes back there and she's like, well, I gotta
pot this one and I gotta find a pop for
that one. I'm like, oh my god, this is what
she doesn't like. My question was what does she do?
That's what she does, and she loves it, So she
does actually like plants. I don't know if she ever

(32:38):
liked the sweatsuit like that was one that you could
have bought a second one and said, I'm both on
fire and nobody want to complained. The Jane found a
workout tape though, was was an all timer al timer.
See what are you geting for your mom? Uh? My
mother passed? Sorry I stepped into that one, but I
would say this, um, I think for at least their

(33:00):
pretty straight years. I got her like the newest Stephen
King book. She was a Stephen King fan, and that
was like the easiest laziest gift that I can get,
and she loved it. So she made it easy on me. Okay,
I apologize. I didn't know, of course, don't worry about
ramas well. Are you two for two? Doug? My mom
passed away coming up on a year becoming the biggest

(33:21):
a hole. No, you don't know, but but I we
used to get her the same thing we used to
buy her. She loved to read, so we'd buy her
the latest book or whatever she liked. Um books about
people like you buy her like the Phil Jackson book
or shock sports books about players not no, no magic.
She's a big Lakers fans. So yeah, but DN, please

(33:44):
tell me your mom's alive. Yeah. I just kicked her
out of town today, took extra this morning. She gave
her the booth was good. I was, really I was,
I was, you know, thank goodness, she's still she's still here. Okay,
what do you get your mom? Um? She already got
the gift, so yeah, yeah, your grandson, Yeah she had time.
Oh that's cool. He spit up on her like, oh

(34:06):
there you go. There's a gift. Yeah, you get her
baby stuff, you know, clothes, no, like just like you know,
I'm kidding and stuff like that. Yeah. I mean generally
all the moms really want. It's just calling hey, thanks,
you know, like the mom's brunch. We went to a
mom's brunch last time, and I was like, the remember
last year, this time, there wasn't a ton of places open.

(34:28):
We went to a place and was vegan, and we're
like this. I went there because it's called Gracious Madre.
I thought, like the name Mother's Day makes sense. Other
people like it's great. So we sit down, like, you know,
it's vegan. Okay, well maybe we'll have a vegan pizza
or something like. They didn't say it was not unseasoned,

(34:49):
not tasty, not tasty, and too early to start. And
she's not really a drinker, so it wasn't like we
were doing mimosas. All right, well, I'm I apologize rest
in peace to your mom's obvious. I know what that
feels like, losing my dad. Let's uh, let's get to
the transfer portal. It's heating up in college football and
basketball how much? So we'll tell you next. Fox Sports

a greatly the left hand shooter score or whatever. Craton's
gonna be really good on offense. I don't know if
they stop anybody, but they'll be fun to watch that

coaching change. We don't know how it looks with Kyle
Neptune is our coach. Baylor Shireman moves on Jordan Addison
maybe moving on the pit wide receiver officially did enter
the transfer portal, but still we don't know where he's
gonna go, even though I think all signs point to
Los Angeles. Phil Jackson is assisting the Lakers in their

(37:27):
head coaching search. According to ESPN, do you think he
goes I'm the best guy for the job. I appoint me.
Let me look around. Does anybody else have eleven rings
in this building. He's not coaching. He's not coaching. We
just don't know what percentage of influence he has. That's
the big question, asking his opinion. Absolutely is he making
the call? That's a different question. How high would the

We're doing the same drills. I don't think it's my
job to mentor him. But you know, if you learn
learns from me along the way, then then that's a
great thing. Yeah. I just I don't understand that. I
don't understand. I can't go like have it am a board,
can't wait to work with them, period. Stop what's the win?

(38:54):
What's the win? Backing out there and pressed, that was
the press, mere quickly to pick on both. It's night's games.
Heart says the bucks um Warriors go up to Oh
I like Bucks and Warriors as well. Remember Marcus Smart
not playing tonight. That's a dramatic change. Dramatic change. Do
they go with a big lineup right that? That? That

(39:16):
part is gonna be interesting to me exactly what adjustments made.
Sometimes you get a little bump even when you don't
have that guy. I just think they lose too much
without Marcus Smart. This is Dug got Lip Show, Fox
