Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Mike Jones. WWA has so much going on right now.
NXT has been on fire lately, and one of the
guys making big things happen there is our guest. He's
the NXT North American Champion. All ego, Ethan Page, How
are you, sir?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Very good, Ethan.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I want to get this cleared up right away, right
off the bat. As the NXT North American Champion, you're
saying that you're the greatest North American? Is that currently
or of all time, of all time, of all time,
over every North American that's ever lived.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, I'm Canadian born, American made and fueled by Mexico
because I love tacos.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah, so that's over. Oprah Winfrey, where was she born?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
She born in America, lived in America, only did things
in America. Hm, okay, she might be a great American.
Walt Disney, Well wait, isn't he like was he born
in America?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I believe he was.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Okay, I'm strong, Oh definitely not. That's a that's American hero.
What do you mean We're not talking about American hero sir.
We're talking about North American heroes.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I'm saying they're North Americans. They're all for North America.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, but they represent one country in North I'm talking
about representing an entire continent, but actually like actually representing properly.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
But I'm saying they represent all of North America too,
I'm just naming other North Americans.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
No, I disagree with you, They're not true North Americans.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Okay, Well, then that settles it all. Ego Ethan Page
the greatest North American of all time, even over Ryan Gosling.
Even Ryan Gosling, I.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Mean he's kind of came up around the same area
as me, like maybe like twenty minutes thirty minutes from
where I grew up. Where I grew up was poorer
and harder, so I'm better.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Okay, all right, Well then that settles it. Plus you
got the championship belt too, so all Ego is the
greatest North American. Well, we're gonna to see you, sir.
You have your big championship celebration, which I can only
imagine what that's going to involve Tuesday night on NXT.
It's gonna be a great night coming by from Houston.
Also the NXT Championship in a triple threat match, the

(02:12):
Undertaker's gonna face off with Trick Williams Big Show. Everyone
needs to see it Tuesday night on the CW.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah. Man, Eathan Page is going to be celebrating his
giant victory after the Great American Bash in the heart
of America. I'm so pumped. Like, in what scenario is
a Canadian successfully defend his championship in Atlanta then decides
to celebrate the victory in Houston, Texas. Who like, that's

(02:39):
North America talking about North America. That is North America
right there.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
It's the greatest North American only can be done by you,
Sir Ethan, Well, you said the Great American Batch. I
wanted to ask you about that. You and Ricky Saints
had one hell of a match, man. I think it
was the match of the weekend in Atlanta of everything
that happened, because there were some great events, and I
think you guys really stole the weekend.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I agree in wrestling in general.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
But yes, and Booker t while you guys were having
your match, he said that maybe you and Ricky could
be friends one day. I don't know. I don't think
if you throw a guy off a stage, if you
give him the Ego's edge from twelve feet up, I
don't see you ever paling around with that guy down
the road.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I'll be honest with you, I don't know how a
grown man who got thrown in the air like that
could have any friends at all.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
You know what good points? Their good point? Ethan as
as an NXT mainstay now, I mean, you've been around
for a long time. What do you feel about these
TNA outsiders coming into your company? How do you feel
about this?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I don't know. It's actually kind of refreshing to me
to hang out with wrestlers again.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So okay, interesting, all right, all right on Tuesday, let's
get back to Tuesday. Then we have the big show
NXT coming live from Houston, and the Undertaker's gonna be
there to face off with Trick Williams. What does that
mean to you to have the Undertaker being a part
of NXT like that?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Just that in itself, the fact that he shows up
so often now is kind of surreal. To have someone
of that status on our TV show is fantastic. For
him to confront Trick Williams also great. I'm gonna probably
enjoy watching whatever transpires. They're very happy that I'm not

(04:33):
the one being confronted by the dead Man. So yeah, anyways,
good luck with that one trick. I still don't like
you as a person, so I hope it ends tragically.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
And you know you said to have the Undertaker around
means a lot to you, guys. Ethan, Like, what also
do you see for the people, the guys and girls
on LFG, because as a coach on there, I mean
that's huge for them to get to learn from him
and Booker and some of the best of all time.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I mean there's a part of me that's like
professionally jealous at the fact that I worked my entire
life legitimately to get here. Like I'm a thirty five
year old father of two, I'm married, I'm in a
stage of my life that these children have no clue
what it means or the weight that it holds, or

(05:20):
the stresses that I live to be able to do
this job. No, no, no, they just get to, you know,
frolic around the performance center and cross paths with the
greatest wrestlers of all time that half of them probably
don't even know who they are. So yeah, it's a
little professionally frustrating, but they're very lucky. I don't know
if they even understand how lucky they are. And I

(05:41):
hope that there is two percent of these wrestlers at
least understand the opportunities that they're being given right now
and take advantage of them to make themselves the greatest
stars of the future. Because the option is there, the
pathway is there. They're being set up for success. It's
now up to them to shut their mouths, open their ears,

(06:02):
and actually apply what they're being taught.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
But they'll never measure up to the greatest North American
of all time. Let's be clear about that.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Well, no, because I know how to shut up backstage
and take this advice and listen. And I listen. I've
been around a couple of locker rooms here and there.
I can hold a conversation or two, and if I
want some information, I'm gonna get it. And if we
have some of the smartest minds in wrestling here, why
am I not trying to get that information to get ahead?

(06:32):
And if you're a wrestling fan yourself, I assume you are, Yes,
how would you say that I am the best I've
ever been?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I mean, seeing your career ethan like, how things have
gone and this last year, since it's been just about
a year now since you joined NXT and WWA, it's
totally next level for you.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yes, So, I mean I will credit the performance Center
and the guidance of guys like Sean Michaels and guys
like Tory Taylor and Undertaker backstage and Triple H. And
to me, it's detrimental the fact that people aren't getting
as good as I am, because it's clearly there. So

(07:15):
if they're not wanting to take these teachings and make
themselves better, that's on them. Because Ethan Page is legitimately
the best he's ever been at. I mean what, I'm
eighteen or nineteen years into wrestling now, so if I'm
still learning at this stage, just think sky's the limit
for me.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
And I feel like Ethan, now, you know, we're a
year into you being in NXT, I don't feel like
you're going to be there much longer. Like there's going
to be Ethan Page on Raw on Monday night or
SmackDown on Friday Night very soon. I just feel like
that's only a matter of time at this point.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Possibly, I truly don't care for me right now. The
focus is NXT and if I can make NXT the
number one show in ww I mean, I'll happily make
that a goal right now. It's making the North American
Championship the most prestigious championship across WWE and adding a
lineage to the title that is synonymous every single time

(08:13):
they either see the championship or it gets brought up.
I want to be synonymous with the title. So that's
the goal right now. As the greatest North American and
the North American Champion.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
We're talking to the greatest North American and the North
American Champion, all Ego, Ethan Page. We got another minute
or two here, Ethan outside of the ring. What's been
the coolest thing that's happened to you since coming to WWE,
Because you have you got to do a comic book,
You're in the WWE two K twenty five video game.
You have your action figure that was the number one

(08:43):
selling action figure there for a bit. I got to
figure all of these things for your like, oh wow,
I can't believe this.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
So yes, every single one of those things has checked
off a personal box for me that has been mind blowing.
Both of my children have watched to me win championships.
My son was too young, but when we were in
Toronto and I became the NXT Champion, my daughter was
in the second row, so home country, lots of family there,
but my daughter and wife being there was very special.

(09:12):
And then to win the North American Championship in Orlando.
We now live here, so my son, my wife, and
my daughter drove twenty minutes up the road to watch
me dammage Ricky Saint's Throat and become North American Champion.
So those two moments right there, for me personally, I
have been great. But the most surreal was recently seeing

(09:35):
my children react to a cross promotion with the new
Jurassic Park movie and myself. It just shattered their little
brains that their dad was in a commercial with these dinosaurs.
So I'm like, oh, okay, so I'm just the coolest
dude ever.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Coolest dude and greatest North American. Well, we're going to
see you Ethan Page and Oba Fami, JACJ and all
the NXT superstars Big show in Houston this coming Tuesday.
That's a must watch on the CW with your North
American Championship celebration and everything else that's going on. Plus
we also have NXT's going to Philly heat wave in

(10:13):
Massachusetts heat wave is a big event for you. You had
big success there last year winning the NXT Championship, so
lots ahead for you and NXT. Ethan, thanks so much
for the time today.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, I'm happy to give it to you and very
excited to celebrate with everyone in Houston on Tuesday,
