There's been plenty of speculation ahead of the upcoming 2024 Budget, to be released May 30.

The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister have promised surprises and 'bold moves' on top of the proposed tax cuts and reduced spending.

NZ Herald political editor Claire Trevett says the Government has proved every new spending measure will be counteracted with a cut somewhere else.
