Speaker 4 (00:12):
I'm okay.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
I think I either sprained my wrist yesterday. I hope
it's not broken, but I had a little incident biking
home from Metro yesterday and the wheel got stuck in
the sidewalk. Anyway, I almost fell off the bike, but
I had my helmet on, but I just kind of
jerked my body real quickly because of what happened.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
And now my wrist hurts. So you didn't have like
intact no, it was more that it was more like whiplash.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
On the Okay, So then I listen to me doctor
amar here, I would say, it's probably not broken, but
you probably jacked up some ligaments or tendons or something
that that is giving you a lot of pain. But
you're you gonna go see somebody for it?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Just oh god, No, you're not that person. It hurts,
but not that bad. But do you think I need
one of those braces that people wear?
Speaker 5 (00:57):
What are you gonna go to CVS and just buy one.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Doesn't know what most people can't? You just like that,
is it one size fits all?
Speaker 5 (01:02):
You're like my husband. You will try to di why
you're injured, absolutely, and then when you're really desperate go
to the doctor and the doctor will be like, dude,
why did you wait six weeks before I could have
healed you?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
You've got a broken wrist you've been working with here?
Speaker 5 (01:17):
What is wrong with you?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
By the way, when I was a kid, I always
thought it was really cool people that got to wear
those risks risks braces, not cast races.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
I was like, I want one of those. All right, Well,
we hope your wishes are coming true.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, we hope your Friday's off to a better start
than mine.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
Not.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
It's great to be here with everybody, and we got
a great show for you today. Chili's working on Top
Stories coming up next.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Yeah, So the big news yesterday was the federal judge
ordering the administration to pay full November snap benefits by today.
So we've got the latest on that and more on
the way on ninety seven point one wash.
Speaker 6 (01:52):
FL Top Stories Top of the Hour.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
A federal judge is ordering the admitted to pay full
November snap benefits by today. The judge said that people
have gone on far too long without it. The first
and only woman to serve as Speaker of the House
is not going to be running for reelection. In case
you missed it, Nancy Pelosi made the announcement yesterday morning
that she will not be running for another term. A
(02:19):
former Justice Department employee who threw a sandwich out of
federal agent during the President's Law Enforcement Surgeon DC has
been found not guilty of assault. Sean Dunn was acquitted
of the misdemeanor charge after prosecutors failed to secure a
felony indictment. A teenager is facing charges after an October
twenty eighth shooting that happened near Greenway shopping Center in
(02:41):
green Belt. Police say one teen open fire near a
bus stop, prompting another teen to return fire. No one
was injured. In honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, thousands
of white flags are being placed on the National Mall
by the nonprofit Lungevity. The display will honor the one
hundred and twenty thousand Americans who die from lung cancer
(03:04):
every year, while also highlighting the diseases lack of federal
funding compared to other cancers and task Rabit says that
winter brings a surge in demand for side gigs like cleaning,
decorating another holiday prep tasks. Now popular jobs include hanging
holiday lights, running errands for people, and even waiting in line,
(03:26):
with some charging over fifty dollars an hour to wait
in line for you goodness, I know right. Forecasts for
today we'll have cloudy skies, rain tonight, highs in the
sixties right now, thirty three and chantilly.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
That's good money for just standing around. I know right,
all right, I'm kiddoshe coming up next. It's our morning mindset.
And on Fridays, Chili picks an eighty song to give
us an inspirational quote from and I can't wait to
hear what she picks this week. We'll share that with you,
coming up next. So glad you're starting.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Your day with us.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
We are Toby and Chile in the morning on ninety
seven point one washet, I'm kidd o'she it's time for
our morning mindset.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
So on Fridays we kick off our best of the
eighties weekend at five pm with Sabrina Kanti, and we
like to choose a lyric from an eighties song, and
I chose a lyric from the song Missing You by John.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Waite love it and in it he says, in.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Your world, I have no meaning though I'm trying hard
to understand. So it's about a moment of awakening, a
point when you realize you don't need to fit into
someone else's world to matter, because at first, I know
it feels painful, very confusing, like you've lost your place,
but really you've just outgrown it. Trying to understand isn't
(04:39):
about chasing someone's approval anymore. It's about learning more about
yourself and what you deserve. So in that sense, the
lyric becomes a turning point, you know, realization that your
worth is not defined by how someone else sees you,
but how you choose to see yourself.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
From Missing You, John Waite says, in your world, I
have no meaning though I'm trying hard to understand. And
you can find that quote by going to our Instagram page.
Just follow us at washfm dot com and then you
can share it with your friends.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I love that, all right, Chili coming up next here.
If you are like me and haven't been in a
gym for a few years or more than that. There's
a new fitness hack going viral on TikTok. Would this
work for you? We'll explain what it is next. Hope
you're tail good. On this Friday morning, we're ninety seven
point one wash FM with Topy and Chili in the morning.
I'm kiddoshe Chili is sharing a new wellness hack with
(05:31):
us this morning.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
So it's going viral on TikTok. It is called the
three by three by twelve. Okay, okay. So there's a
fitness coach who suggests that we do three things before
noon every day. Walk three thousand steps, eat thirty grams
of protein, and drink a third of your daily water intake.
(05:53):
She's saying. The idea is that these small winds in
the morning will create momentum for the rest of your day.
So if you do these things by noon every day,
you're gonna be fitter, healthier, and more energized. I mean
thirty grams of protein, Yeah, binet a lot of protein,
it can be. But if you do like protein powders,
they have like twenty five grams. Some protein bars have
(06:14):
twenty grams of protein. The third of your water intake
that you get the three thousand steps. How are you
doing that if you're potentially sitting at a desk at work?
But it's still If you can do those three things
by noon, you're off to a very good start of
your day.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Most days by about one thirty in the afternoon, Like
have I eaten anything today?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
So true with our schedule.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I'm not sure this would work for me, but I'm
going to give it a try.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
I appreciate you sharing that with me.
Speaker 2 (06:43):

one wash FM, i'm kidd o'she there's a controversy brewing
this morning.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
Yes, it's the Barista cold cup from Starbucks. So Starbucks
released some holiday merchandise and this was yesterday, right, And
this one cup is made of glass. It's in the
shape of a cute little bear and that's what they're
selling their cold beverages in and it's for limited time. Well,
people got up super early, lined up at like four am,
(10:35):
and when the stores opened, it turns out most Starbucks
stores only had one or two or literally a handful
to sell, and so they were mad that there weren't enough.
Then there were other people online saying that the employees
were buying now, you know, before the customers could, and
that's why they didn't have any. Then you hear people
(10:57):
saying that the ones who did buy some are now
trying to sell them on eBay fit. Oh my goodness,
it's hundreds of dollars. It has gotten out of hand.
Starbucks is apologize, Oh, we didn't realize it was gonna
be such a demand, right, And we're gonna have more
holiday merch coming up in the next few days. You
know you'll enjoy those. But this is really turned into
(11:19):
a very bad situation, a.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Very bad situation.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Now, Chili, they did launch their holiday drink menu yesterday
along with all of this, did they not? Do you
think this was all intentional that, hey, we'll only put
a couple of these cute little bears out will create demand.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Do you think that maybe happen?
Speaker 5 (11:38):
And this is I guess they're mo o every year, right,
and so it's is it going to backfire? Is there
any such thing as bad publicity? I guess they're gonna
find out if people stop showing me.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
I got to get my hands on one of these barristas.
Speaker 6 (11:50):

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Story So Rob perez is a guy that lives IN
dc and he's a federal contractor and he decided to
make his mark as a running content. Creator so he's
been a runner his whole life and he runs like
these ultra. Marathons but when the government shut down first,
started he decided to lace up his shoes and he
pledged to run one mile for every day the shutdown. Lasted,
(18:43):
okay so the first day was, easy it was just one,
mile but then the day day started piling up and
the miles started piling, up so by day twenty, six
he was already running full marathon Right and while he was, running,
though he didn't just do, that he was posting videos
that mixed his run with these, short really digestible civics.
(19:05):
Lessons so it was like a. Project every day he
would research on proposed, bills brushing up on how the government,
works and then he would share those little nuggets of
civics information during his runs on social. Media and people
were really enjoying. This, well the mission became pretty. Intense
by day twenty, eight he couldn't keep up with the
pace of doing all, this so he decided to pause
(19:27):
the original. Challenge but he had already logged in four
hundred and fifty six miles at that. Point so he
says he's going to keep up his non partisan political
runs on a weekly, basis to keep delivering, information to
keep running and keep connecting the world of the road
and civic. Engagement SO i think it's really cool that
(19:48):
he turned this into a, thing some content on social
media while bringing attention to how our government.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Works AND i love this. Guy i've seen his videos.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
