Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, Welcome to the After Show podcast Justin and Winnie.
(00:04):
It is Tuesday. It is October fifteenth. Back after a
long weekend. We took yesterday off. It was pretty good.
Nice to sleep in, Whinnie. I slept till five thirty am,
which is sleeping in for me. My body naturally wakes
up now when I sleep on Saturday and Sunday, Friday
night and Saturday night, I usually sleep till about six
(00:26):
six thirty. But I feel like I did wake up
earlier yesterday that my body knows that it's a Monday.
The clock, yeah, because I think I woke up at
around four four thirty.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, I did you Yeah, And.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Then I'm like, oh, I go back to sleep and
I get up at five thirty. But yeah, getting up
this early, it's like, you know, it messes up your clock.
You know. I remember the days when I was younger,
I would sleep for twelve hours.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
There was a time in my life, in the dark days.
I don't know how long, maybe months, months, months, maybe
a year. I went a stretch of every single day
I did not see daylight. I was a vampire. I
would stay out all night long, and then when the
sun was rising, I would go to sleep and I
would not wake up until the sun went down. So
(01:13):
obviously it was probably through the winter. Yeah, but it
was probably a couple of months. But yeah, I would
I would not see sunshine. Imagine what I looked like.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Probably not good because you were on heavy drugs.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I know, but also not getting any sunlight. Vitamin D
isn't important?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Is important.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I had that thing with Maria Stefanos that I takeed,
and so I had to send her pictures.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
You have pictures of you in your drug addict. That
couple you never showed me them. I want to see.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, a couple. They're very out, they're very old. I
didn't take a lot of pictures, but I sent her
a couple of them. I don't know if she'll use them.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Where'd you find them?
Speaker 1 (01:46):
A couple of them were actual pictures that I took
a picture of. Yeah, you know, because obviously there wasn't
there was cell phones back then.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
No, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
I'm just saying I didn't like, were they on Facebook
or something?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I think I might say on Facebook? Yeah, but you know,
she she I remember she texted me like the next
day and she goes, I need some context on these pictures. Yeah,
because it's not just me, it's there's other people in it. Yeah,
just looking like a complete hooligan. Yeah, you know that
you are, Yeah that I was. There's one in particular.
(02:16):
I don't know if she'll use it. This was at
the very end I was. I'm looking up at the
camera and Bobby surprised my friend was the one that
took it. I was at his house. Now I had
I was clean for about six months. I did a
halfway house and then I transferred to another facility and
I relapsed. Okay, so he might Now this whole time,
Bobby had not been clean. He was already using. Okay,
(02:39):
so I relapsed and I call him and I said
to him, now is my best friend. I go, Dude,
I relapsed, and and he goes, why would you do that?
And I go, I need you to get me some
hooked me up, you know, get me something. And he goes,
I'm not doing it, dude, I'm not doing it. You
need to go back into treatment. You were doing so
good yet six months. And I go, listen, either you're
(03:02):
gonna get it for me and I'm gonna get you high,
or I'm gonna go down to downtown crossing and find
a random person and have them get it for me
and get them high. And he goes, when can you
be here? Billy and Lisa in the Morning present a
behind the scenes look into Boston's.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Favorite morning show. That's a little too much information, Guys
the after show podcast? Who justin and try so hard
to be a good friend. He tried.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
We talk about it all the time. It's like, you know,
but that's addiction. He's been for god fifteen nineteen, nineteen years.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
How is he, Oh, because you have relapsed.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I relapsed?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
He yeah, he he got clean after your last relap.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, because this is like two thousand and five.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I first tried to he got clean.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, but this picture, I'm in his house and I'm
so fucked up, but I'm holding my hand up. And
the reason he's the picture was because I don't want
to get too graphic here. But I didn't tell. Marie
Stefano says either, you know, I had been injecting drugs, cocaine,
especially into my veins. And what happens is when you
shoot drugs, especially cocaine, when you missed the vein, yeah,
(04:15):
you your hand it blows up. Yeah. So it's swollen.
So I had been trying to do it and it
wasn't working, and so my hand felt like it was
on fire and it was completely swollen, and I was like,
I was like panicking, and then he goes, let me
see that hand, and I kind of held it up
and he took a picture, and so then he had
that picture forever until I, you know, took a picture
(04:36):
of it. But anyway, thank god, it doesn't go to
that anymore. God. I think about back to it, and
I'm like, what the hell was I thinking?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah, I don't know. You weren't you were.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Not I wasn't thinking anyway. I hope you had a
great weekend. I yeah, I didn't do much. I went
to a wedding. I know that you went to Billie Eilish.
I heard. I heard. I read the reviews on the
show and everyone says mcavee told me it was the
that show of the year.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
It was an amazing show.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yeah, And I said, McKay, I go. You know what's
really cool about her is just watching obviously super talented,
but just watching the evolution. If you look at her
earlier shows, she didn't really move much. She would just
sit down with her brother and sing. Now she's got
the lights and she's dancing and moving.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
It was so good. It was so good.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
So when she did the song guess you know that
song women's underwear, that's a that's a girl on girl song.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah you know, well a girl girl.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Oh that's true, but that one's real blatant, right, And
I guess the color of your underwear?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Very sexual?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
And then she has a line when she says, you know,
Charlie likes boys, but she knows how. Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Where'd you go to? Dinner?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Went to and something really cool happened.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
So we get out of the car and you know, Dave,
our friend Dave comes out.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
And talks to us the server.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yes, he's a socialite really though.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
So it was beautiful night, so the windows were all open,
so the people that were eating near the window basically
half you know, on the street.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
And I look and I see Jason Veratech.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Now, growing up here, Jason Veritec was like Teddy Bruski
if you're into football, you know, he was that guy.
Everyone loved him growing up. And so I saw him,
I'm like, oh my god, that's Jason Veratech. And he
goes oh yeah, I'll introduce you. Before he even did that,
Jason Vertec's wife calls me over and she's.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Like, oh my god, I love the show. I love you,
blah blah blah.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
And I'm like, Jason Veritek's wife knows who I am.
He had no clue, no idea, so she was my husband, Jason,
and I'm like she gets Hand'm like, oh, hi, nice
to meet you.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Like it was so cool though, because I'm like, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Were you was a small part of you thinking when
that in that moment, all right, motherfucking Jason Veritek, He's
a celebrity now, motherfucker.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I think that. I just thought it was He's like
such a husband, just like eating his food, like I'm assuming,
and his wife's.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Like, this is my husband, Jason. She was sweet. They
were really nice.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
That's one of the things, the funniest thing about people
that listen to the show. When you meet them, it's
always women. Yeah, and a lot of times they're with
their husbands, and the husbands are like standing, oh yeah,
the hell is this? And it's especially degrading for me
because I'm a guy.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Yeah, you know, and oh my god, did he have
a nice Porsche, very nice four door four door.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
It was really nice.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Really was he eating Astraga too? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:23):
They're eating so kJ and I we sat like away
from them. So when they left, she came over to
say bye, and I got our number because I think
she's going to try to come to the book club
for Billy and Lisa.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Who's this his wife?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Oh yeah, that's nice yea yeah, so it's good.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
And then we.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Actually get verattech on I can I can text his wife,
well the document the Red Sox documentary.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
To talk about it.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I'm sure he would. When does that come out?
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Let me end of October? And so it's coming up right,
I think it's like October twenty something.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Okay, here we go, twenty third. The trailer just came out,
so it comes out on.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I feel like it's October twenty third for some reason.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
October twenty third. Oh yeah, we gotta get him on.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
You want me to hit her up?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
You let me talk to Billy first.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Okay, do you think you'd want to do it?
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Why wouldn't I don't know. He probably did the documentary
and you know what, we have an end because his
wife's going to be like, you need to do the show. Yeah,
that's what's gonna happen. That's that's happened many times to me.
You know, where the wife or the is into the
show and she gets her husband to do whatever. I
don't know, I just remember times like that. Yeah, you're
gonna use that to your advantage. Yes, so that's cool
(08:29):
an howlse.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
You do this weekend just lesbian stuff?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Had some edibles I.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Saw, Oh wait, how'd you see?
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Oh yeah, I posted when I got so high yesterday?
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Like I was hot. I was just hot high all day.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Well you have that right, it's legal.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I know.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
I was just oh my god, it was like I
was just high. I was just high, like I was.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Are you still high?
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Myself? High?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Probably by yourself?
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah, that's no what do you Who did I get
high with?
Speaker 1 (08:58):
That's no fun?
Speaker 3 (08:58):
KG was working like my friends are all like moms
and shit. Yeah, Josie was busy. I don't know what
I was I getting high with.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, I guess. Well's you do edibles?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Right?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
That's different than smoking, right? Or did you smoke?
Speaker 3 (09:12):
No?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah, choke on. I never did edibles, but from what
you know people describe it, it's more of a body.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
High body high.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
My issue with smoking marijuana is I would get paranoid. Yeah,
I think it does that.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
No, I'm chilling. I'm chilling. I just yeah, I just
be chilling. Yeah, But that was good. That was basically
it went to We went to brunch on Sunday, I
mean Saturday.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
That was good.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Which also I met when I was at brunch a
teacher person that is a survey that came up to me.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
She's a big fan of the show.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
She's a teacher, which reminded me that we had the
local legends because we have so many teaches that were
nominated and all that stuff. So we'll we will be
doing that coming up soon.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yep. We waiting for Bill to get back from Africa.
But we have so many submissions. We went through today
and picked a couple, so oh, those will start rolling
out and we'll have them on the show and everything,
and there'll be a good social video to go along
with us surprising them as best as we can, because
you know they're gonna be at work or whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
One of them that we picked is going to be
such a good surprise and I want to sneak attack them.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Okay, well, that'll be cool. That's why we're doing it,
you know. It was kind of the timing on it
was weird because you know, we had planned this for
a couple of months and none of us thought about
Billy going to Africa. So we launched it literally the
week before, and we need Bill to like go out
and meet the people, surprise them, and to pick the
winners too. It's the Billy and Lisa Show, so it's
(10:36):
a group effort, you know what I mean. And he
wasn't here, so that's gonna get rolling as well. I
did not do much. I went to a wedding Saturday night.
Congratulations to my wife's cousin Jillian and Connor. It was
a beautiful wedding. It was in Danver's Whinnie.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
It was at this place called Magna Carter No Magnus Farm.
It was beautiful. It was outside wedding. They had a
tent heated. I had a great time. It kind of stinks.
So when you go to wedding you don't know anybody.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Well, you don't know your wife and our family.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
No I know, I know, I know that. But like
all the people all that were there, like ninety percent,
I don't know who they are. They were super nice.
But you know, weddings are really fun when you're like,
no everybody, yeah, you know. But they were all from
stone Hill College. They met at stone Hill and so
all their friends were from stone Hill and so they
talked a lot about that during the wedding. And then
when the dancing pot happened, they hung a stone Hill
(11:27):
College banner on the DJ booth. Oh wow, I send
a picture to Mikey Mikey V because he went. And
then he goes, he texted me back and he goes, oh,
what year did they graduate? I go, buddy, they're much
younger than right was out of early twenties. And no,
they did not party with Mikey V.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
No.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
I mean, honestly they could have. Though Mikey's college of
girls like last year.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
That's true, that's true. And he goes, they really missed out.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yeah, the girls get Mikey gets older, the girls get younger.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, he's like a Leo DiCaprio.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yeah, that's funny. God. And then yeah, Sunday was a rainout. Man,
it sucked. We were gonna go to the fan yeah,
but it didn't happen. And then yesterday I didn't didn't
do much. I hung out. I'm getting a sauna, are you.
I'm really excited about it. Okay, yeah, you know I
have I have an ice tub, and I have a
hot tub I talk about all the time. But the ideal,
(12:17):
what what you want to have is a sauna in
anice in an ice bath. The hot tub is good,
but you know, so they came and looked at it
about wiring it, and so that'll be cool. Right in
my garage, Winnie can't use ituna. You can come over
and use it anytime.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Well, I really won't come over and use it.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
You can, but but I have a rule. I'm gonna
I'm gonna put a rule in place.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
You can't be naked.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
No, you can be naked all you want, but if
you use the sauna, you have to use the ice bath.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Oh you know my trainer Sam it his Jimmy is
a little sauna. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
It's perfect, one person sauna.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I love it. I love the sauna.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
This is going to be a small one.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
You know what They call it lazy man cardio because
you burn a lot.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
It's funny. My friend Chris was texting me yesterday about,
you know, working out and everything. I go dude, you
got to start doing cardio and he goes, well, I know,
but I do this song yeah, and I sweated out. Yeah,
but I'm really excited about that.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I'm excited for you.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
You're you're really transforming your little place up there.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
It's like your own spa. Oh yeah, that's it.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I just have Jen walk around and with like, did
you like some tea?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Sir? It really is. It really is just me living, uh,
you know, my dream from.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
The streets of downtown cross and trying to get a high.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
You know. I was sitting I was talking to Billy's wife,
Michelle the last time I saw her at the Sale
and Waterfront event, and she said to we were talking
about the ice bath and she goes, you know what
it is with you? And I never thought about this.
She goes, Obviously, the ice bass are great, they're great
for your health and all that. People do it for
specific reasons, but the reason why you love it so
much is because you're a drug act.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yeah, it's because you chase that feeling. And I go,
oh my god, she's one hundred percent right.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Because I started doing cold plunge for the inflammation I
work out, it help my body, my joints. But that's
not why I do it. I do it because I
literally get high from it. Yeah, it sucks doing it,
but then when I'm done, I feel I feel so
So when I get out, I do the hotsup in
the cold, and then I like chill, go in the shower.
When I got out of the shower, sit on the couch,
twenty I feel I started saying.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
I have more, I have a more re question.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Oh here we go.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Okay, we'll end with this because we have our meeting.
So say you live along? Was we hope in long
nice life? Right?
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Hopefully?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Okay, you get to like ninety eighty five, ninety that
much time left? Maybe you have like an illness that's
like something that's you're not gonna have.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
You're it's your you're ninety and you got like pneumonia
something like that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Okay, you don't got much time left.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Probably you know you're on the way down, right, Okay,
would you get high again?
Speaker 1 (14:51):
No? Really, I would not, but I can't say I can't.
I would say no right now. Yeah, but I don't know.
That's why it's a one day at a time.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
You know, I'm just saying, like, you know, if you're
going to die anyway, if you know you got like
five days or something, or.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
To go along with that question, because this is what
you think about sometimes. Say I get older and I
get really sick, something happens, like, you know, an accident. Yeah,
and I have to take pain medication. You know that's
gonna My body doesn't know the difference between a pill
prescribed by a doctor and a pill bought in the
street or heroin. Doesn't know the difference. So that's why
you say, one day at a time, I can't worry
(15:26):
about what's going to happen.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Then okay, I'll check back with you in you're ninety.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Yeah, you can check back when I'm all old and wrinkly,
and I'll be like, oh hi, shit hopefully anyway, have
a good day.
