Wakem He gets my day going andmakes me laugh. I of it.
Mac and Schmidty in the morning onStar one oh five point seven, Good
Morning's ready, good morning, Welcomein to your Holy cow. Is it
is it Thursday? Yeah? Idon't know what day of the week it
is. It's a Thursday. Letme let me tell you. It's a
Thursday. And man, was tonightor last night like one of the most
(00:27):
gorgeous of the entire summer season.Everybody we met up with a bunch of
friends, went downtown Rockford, haddinner, ice cream, ran around the
damn for two hours. It wasstunning last night, movies, music and
all the gossip in one place. It's the celebritiescoop. On Star one oh
five point seven, golfer Tiger Woodssays he was so affected by the Donald
(00:51):
Trump assassination attempt he literally lost sleepover it and admitted it definitely affected a
lot of his preparation for this week'sMassive Open Championship over in the UK.
The golfing legend talked to BBC Sports, saying he learned of the shooting while
on a plane ride from the USto Scotland Saturday, saying he stayed up
all night on his overseas flight, glued to the coverage of the attempt on
(01:15):
the former president's life, and itbothered him so much. It definitely impacted
his practice round at the Royal trunon Sunday. Quote. I didn't accomplish
a lot because I wasn't in theright frame of mind. It was a
long night and that's all. Wewatched the entire time on the way over
here. I didn't sleep at allin the flight. Then we just got
on the golf course, still inthe championship though as play continues today.
(01:38):
Yeah, you know, as asmuch as people love to talk about golf
being a mental game, when you'reon the level of a Tiger Woods that
high, I can't imagine having totry and go into it directly from an
airplane where you just swatched and hivingthe former president the air good friends.
He was very, very affected bythis. Tom Sandoval is now pointing the
finger at Ariana Maddox regarding Rachel Levis'srevenge porn allegations and is suing his former
(02:05):
girlfriend turned nemesis. Oh yes, that's right. Further vander Pump Rules drama.
New court documents say Sandoval is accusingAriana of illegally accessing his phone and
invading his privacy back in March oflast year. That's when all of this
came about. I regret every momentthat I stood up for you, defended
(02:25):
you, supported you. You're wortheTom is saying that resulted in Ariana uncovering
explicit videos of Levis, which dideventually go public. Sandval is alleging that
Ariana made copies of the footage sentit to Rachel and other unnamed parties without
(02:46):
his permission, and Tom says she'sopened herself up to financial liability, including
violating California's criminal code, but noword on whether he intends to report this
matter to police. It sounds like, right now, this is kind of
a civil lawsuits. Just when youthought the Vanderpump rule stuff could not be
dug back up, I gat letwe thought that we thought that I knew
(03:09):
that we were nowhere near the endof this. Is Rachel gonna wind up
coming back? Are they gonna windIs she gonna wind up being like,
you know why I got to justdo this show. I've got a lot
of mental health that she is workingon. Finally, the Emmy nominations came
out yesterday and a big big dayfor FX two of their series Leading the
Way. Showgun is a newer one. It takes place in sixteen hundreds Japan.
(03:34):
I haven't had a chance to watchthis yet, but twenty five nominations,
followed by The Bear, which isa very big fan favorite once again
twenty three nominations, including Jamie LeeCurtis grabbing one Nald think I can do
this by myself anymore? R notby yourself? Right? I'm right here.
Oh my dear Obia there gives aboutme. It's not true. That's
not true. We all love youso much. I had to beg you
(03:58):
to come. We're happy to behereat great all day for them. I
have not seen the show yet,but our coworker is a huge band and
said this is quite possibly the mostincredible role Jamie Lee Curtis has ever played.
Is this show saying something right?Yeah, only murders in the building.
(04:19):
In third a big one for HBO, True Detective Night Country, and
some Netflix nominations for Baby Reindeer andRipley. Honestly, I've only seen Baby
Reindeer out of any of the shows. You just related right there. I
think I got a whole list.I really want to see showgun. I've
heard from multiple people you have watchedmurders in the building, absolutely phenomenal.
(04:40):
Got the full list for you withyour scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Sometimes because I get a good feeling, well, it is a beautiful
morning across West Michigan. Thank youso much for sharing it with us.
Mack and schmide on startling five pointseem we're feeling good right now and this
is just so cool to see whatpeople step up for friends and for our
(05:00):
nation's heroes too. But about twodecades ago, Marine veteran Kyle Anderson,
Well, he suffered a severe headboundwhile he was serving his country in a
rock and that injury changed his life. As you know brain injuries, it
can often obviously have a major impact. That left him with limited use of
his right arm, and it evenimpacted his speech too. But one thing
(05:21):
that it didn't change about Anderson washis attitude, his positive outlook on life,
of his sense of humor, whichcontinued for the last two decades.
At his town there in Grove Heights, Minnesota, he works at Walgreens,
and his interactions with customers, alwaysleave people with a big smile on their
face. His friends and family justtalk about how his unwavering positivity is such
(05:42):
an inspiration to all of them.So recently, in recognition of not only
his sacrifice to our country, butthis attitude that he carries with him,
his friends and local contractors came totogether and created him his very own custom
man cave Schmidty. This is credible. The project was actually led by one
of his high school wrestling buddies,Nate bill Jehan and his brother kiss Chris
(06:05):
bill John, who owned Great NorthernBuilders. They turned this thing into an
incredible man game we're talking, ofcourse, complete with bar, massive TV,
and my favorite part, this marinethemed pool table that Kyle absolutely loves.
You can see the emotion on hisface when he walks in. I've
got the video I'll put up foryour West Michigan Star dot com. But
(06:27):
Nate bill John, one of thepeople who made this happen, talking to
his local news, just said, when somebody has that kind of attitude,
you just want to help. Ifa guy can go through all of that
and be that positive, that kindof all look on life, why not
do something like this for it justreally cool to see. I'll put the
video again, West Michigan Star dotCom. Well ninety four year old Bill
Sigma is very happy to still begoing in life thanks to a new procedure
(06:51):
at Corwell Health. It's called TAVER. It stands for trans caather aortic valve
replacement. Very very scientific and howperfect for Bill that his granddaughter Jenny Brower,
just happens to be a nurse atthe Corwell department. He found himself
in for this life saving procedure.Doctor Mary has done the procedures thousands of
(07:13):
times and says this is something newand so revolutionary because lots of times patients
didn't have options in the past.It was either a heart replacement or the
other way of leaving this earth. And it's really incredible see these patients doing
so well. Afterwards, Bill sayshe maybe ninety four going on ninety five,
but he's got some good years left. His granddaughter agrees. Grandpa Bill,
(07:36):
he he always keeps us on ourtoes. You go through life just
trying to do the right things thebest of cam. He's on a typical
ninety four year old like, hedoesn't look his age, he doesn't act
his age, which is always acompliment. Mill tells Fox seventeen. His
mom lived to be one hundred andtwo. His older brother lived well into
his one hundred, so he's prettyconfident this procedure is going to help him
(07:58):
reach those triple digits as well. You go, Bill, and right here
in West Michigan, Absolutely Feeling Goodcomes at you a couple times a day
to tell you about something that's greatgoing on on in ther world. It's
all around you when you're looking forit. But we'll do the looking for
you all right. Coming up againnine to twenty Here on Staminal five points
seven, Movies, music and allthe gossip in one place. It's the
Celebrity Scoop on Star one oh fivepoint seven. Ooh. Ozzie Osbourne does
(08:22):
not seem to be a big fanof Britney Spears's dancing videos. How about
this? The family just dropped theirrecent episode of the podcast The Osbourne's Ozzie's
talking with his wife Sharon and theirkids Jack and Kelly. Answering a listener
tweet wondering if Kelly will ever startdoing the viral TikTok dances, She says,
no, I wouldn't even know howto do that. And that's when
(08:43):
Ozzie chimed in with this, I'mfurfacing pearl, Brittish spiz you shauncing every
shoo save Britney. You know it'spoor little, very very yeah, he
said, I'm just so fed upseeing poor old Brittany dancing every bleeping day.
(09:05):
He is just not a fan ofthat. And you can hear the
kids too, or like it justfeels very sad, like it is a
cry for help. Britney is responding, and I'll have that coming up for
you in your eight o'clock scoop.Interesting, I mean, does Ozzie though,
I can't believe that guy's doing apodcast. I've never heard a human
sound more like a burning candle,a melting candle. I remember how successful
that was for MTV. I knowthe podcast is a big listened to one.
(09:28):
Johnny DApp taking the stage with AndreaButcelli last night in Italy. I
had that in scoop the other daybecause it's a weird headline I never thought
i'd be doing. Here is abit of it. It's a very very
cool sound. Johnny's on stage withhis guitar right next to Andrea. I
(09:54):
mean it's really pretty, but it'salso like Andrea Butchelly. This was a
really cifix song, though. Johnnyand Andrea are performing a song that originally
played together back in twenty twenty, when Johnny and Andrea actually visited Johnny's good
friend Jeff Beck, who of coursepassed away, and they did this in
honor of him. That's the onlysurprise though. Will Smith popped on stage
(10:18):
like I Told You and Ed Sheeran, Russell Crowe one of the A listers
in the crowd. It was apacked house in Italy last night. That
sounds pretty good. I mean,so if you can have Johnny Depp up
there, Ed Seron, I feellike can jam out with anybody I would
have liked. Did Ed come upand do it with Andre too? Yep?
Got all the videos at West MichiganStar dot com. Finally, Adele
(10:39):
has left some of her fans alittle upset after announcing a big break from
music. The singer says she haszero intention of making any new material anytime
soon and wants nothing but a big, long break after her Vegus residency wraps
up. But that's not stopping herfrom one more big project. She's got
(11:01):
a bunch of dates starting in earlyAugust where she's going to be performing in
Munich, Germany, and she iscurrently building a replica of an East London
bar right near the Munich site whereshe'll be performing. This British pub will
serve traditional English pints and include astage for cover bands. It's going to
be part of a special pop upAdell World area. It's going to be
(11:24):
an eighty thousand seat outdoor venue.A special press conference in the city is
also going to be held before thegig start next month. Bosses also say
it's going to feature the largest outdoorscreen ever made for a show. Wow,
it's going to be massive, theysaid. There's even more surprises than
that, but they're keeping quiet becausethey want to give fans the ultimate experience.
(11:48):
I'll be honest, though, Iget you know, Adele, you're
English, so you're bringing the Englishpub over. But nobody should be telling
the Germans how to drink sh middiaa right that's been to the UK.
I don't know. They might dojust fine there as well. Well.
All of your scoop at West Michigan'sStar dot Com, good morning to you.
It's Mac and Schmidty and I feellike it's my favorite pastime these days.
Schmitty waxing nostalgic. Well, itfeels so good, right, And
(12:11):
this is all because I'm so excited. I'm either going later this afternoon or
tomorrow for the new Twisters movie becauseit officially opens today. And I had
friends go last night. They saidit's so good, really, And I'm
talking to a coworker of ours andI said, yeah, I'm so excited
for Twisters and he goes, oh, Hollywood, I never do anything original.
And I thought, is it thatthey can't do anything original or they
(12:33):
have finally figured out that the realpaying customer is a millennial that hurts so
bad from everything that's happened in theworld since we've come out of the womb
that we will pay any amount ofmoney for something nostalgic to make us feel
better. Lake, You're not wrong, But I don't think it's just your
generation. It's every generation, whichis why we have how many Star Wars
(12:54):
films at this point in time.Yeah, but look at the break the
Star Wars films took until they cameback for millennials. And I was wondering
that is this just a millennial thing. I think gen Z probably feels it
a bit too. But it's like, think of all the once in a
generation things we've gone through in ourlittle blip of life. I graduated during
a housing recession and in economic recession. I tried to find a job when
(13:20):
the world was just at its worstCOVID September eleventh, Like so many of
these things that sometimes I want tosound negative here, you just want to
go back to things that made youfeel like a kid. For example,
I don't really go to a lotof movies. It's just not my thing.
I tend to wait until they're streamingat home. I will absolutely take
my kids to see The Sandlot remasteredon the big screen. Little Rascals just
(13:45):
started streaming on Netflix. Watched thatwith my kids. I'm gonna go and
see Twisters because Twister was one ofmy most favorite movies from the nineties.
When I feel like I peaked asa person, like love childhood in the
nineties. So when I'm having thistalk with my coworker, I'm like,
you know, I just really thinkthey realized that we'll pay any amount of
(14:05):
money to live in the past whenwe felt our best pretty much. I
mean, in all honesty, it'sbecause even if it wasn't all sunshine and
roses at that moment in time, like in your head, it was absolutely
so the past is always so muchbrighter than it was when it was the
present, right, I didn't knowwhat was happening when I was a kid,
I'm sure thing I don't know.Everything I've heard is that the nineties
were pretty fantastic and it was likean economic bustling time. So don't come
(14:26):
at me, but like it's justyou felt safe, you felt loved.
Everything was perfect and fun. Soyeah, I'm probably occasionally gonna go back
to how that felt. And ifit's two hours in a movie watching a
tornado ravage, people sign me up. And I don't know, do you
have that nostalgic thing? Ah?For me? You know you talk about
(14:50):
movies, but for me, it'smusic, Like what kind of music?
Because I have music too, Soboys to men? Is you know who's
actually coming to the Frederick Meyer Gardenshere this summer. Immediately, anytime one
of those Ela songs from two comeson, I'm in my zone. I
am twelve years old again, beltingout the lyrics to I'll make love to
you, making my parents deeply uncomfortableschmitty, But for me, oh so
(15:11):
good. I'm his third eye blindAnd I went and saw them at the
intersection when I was pregnant with willoh, and I'm like, those things
right six one six, four five, eight, one oh five seven?
What is your nostalgic things? Amusic, a movie, something that reminds
you of it? Honestly, Iwas waiting for food. Somebody's gonna like
I immediately think of like astronaut icecream and those old fake candy cigarettes you
(15:35):
could buy like that stuff that Isee it now, that's a little behind
mine, that's a little before mytime. I actually just saw those in
a Big Candy story just the otherday, and I'm like, that doesn't
seem like twenty twenty four. You'reat the corner bar last night they cut
up hot dogs in the mac andcheeks. Tell me that wasn't homesick from
school? What year was it?Right now in Stallmino fom point seven and
your chance to get to an awesomesold out show. Yeah. The Frederick
(15:56):

(16:30):

give it away for you. Schmitty, I knew it before it even started.
And smell spice girls, all right, six, one six, four,
five, eight, one oh fiveseven? What year was a caller?
Seven? First chance? And you'vegot Charlie Crockett tickets to the Frederick

our independence Dale say, okay,I'll do a damn luck count. Sure
(17:22):

Gardens all summer long. We listeneach Thursday. What year was it?
Here? On Star Movies, Musicand all the gossip in one place.
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one ohfive point seven. Well, Britney Spears
is clapping back after comments from OzzyOsbourne on a new episode of his podcast
that he was bleeping fed up withwatching Britney dance. She started in an
(18:33):
Instagram post talking about Kate Beckinsale, who has recently been facing a lot of
trolls over what she does at herage. Brittany giving her a ton of
credit, saying listen, I danceso much for people like Kate who don't
care about age, just want todo things that make them feel good.
Then takes a direct swipe at Ozzyand the fam, writing I'm going to
(18:56):
do a photo shoot with Kate Beckinsaleuntil the Osbourne family, who's the most
boring family known to mankind to kindlyf off. I just find this whole
thing so ridiculous in so many levels. Smitty, I mean, Internet,
internet stuff. It's just weird thatwe are currently witnessing a feud between Britney
Spears and Ozzy Osbourne. I can'tget that, man. Internet. Actor
(19:19):
Justin Long is getting very open abouthis love life, saying that having an
accident in bed actually brought him andwife actress Kate Bosworth closer than ever.
The actor is on the new episodeof Pie with Kurt Sutter and Katie Segal's
podcast, recalling how we had aterrible bout with food poisoning during a trip
(19:44):
to Mexico City, and this happened, and then at one point that night
I woke up and I was there'sno other way to say, there's not
I can't be, I can't dancearound it. I just I had I
had a bed and she was inthe bed though, and I had to
just face all of these fears, and I thought and by the end I
(20:06):
was like, not even thinking aboutit. I was just she was next
like two feet away from me withthis ivy bag and and in in a
weird way, you know, inthe weirdest way. I looked. I
looked at her, and she washolding it so patiently, and she was
like, everything's fine, you know, and she was and I thought it
was there's something really really I thoughtabout how much I loved her. I
was like, I just love thisperson. I'm so grateful to this part.
And she was not judging, notmaking me feel weird or bad or
(20:29):
like and I just felt so luckyand tell you a similar experience, and
it brought my husband and I closerthan ever. Hey, that's a flash
forward look into your future. Asyou know, as an elderly person,
you don't think that at the time. You really don't think that at the
time. Finally, Travis Kelsey islooking to once again expand his business dealings.
So obviously NFL, he's about tobe on a huge television series,
(20:55):
game show host and now luxury resortowner. It's interesting. Sources close to
the Chiefs Star say he's looking toinvest in the tourism business and has been
in serious talks even in the processof becoming an ambassador for high profile resorts.
This is pretty much due to allthe traveling he's done to watch girlfriend
(21:15):
Taylor Swift on her arastore. He'sgotten to look at a lot of inside
workings in business dealings within resorts andthinks it would be a great next move
for him. Sources, Travis isa dynamic guy that wants to invest in
things that he loves and where hethinks that will be very good business is
travel. I don't know now,I think you're gonna see like a Kansas
City Chiefs themed Caribbean island or something. Yeah. I mean, everybody just
(21:38):
seems like they're just trying to handthis guy cash right now. That's a
free idea. By the way, trev If you do that, ten percent
of the profits all of yours.Celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
I'm not good, Schmitty. You'reread into Battle Battle of the Sex
is right now and it is yourchance to go see a show that could
be described I'm sure as radical asGnarly Schmitty or maybe just Twobla. You
(22:00):
know, we were talking about nostalgiaearlier in the show gen X. This
is your nostalgic show. Thomas DolbyTom Bailey from The Thompson Twins Modern English.
It's all going down at the TotallyTubular Festival at Meadowbrook Amphitheater. Today's
Battle of the Sex's question gets youthose tickets? One hundred women surveyed Name
a reason you put up signs inyour neighborhood. You know what I'm seeing
(22:22):
a ton of now is like, you know, so and so just graduated
fifth grade. I saw one thatI had never seen before. The other
day though, that was really impressive. It was my student scored a five
on a push and I couldn't figureout what that was ap us history.
The student had gotten on a sign. It was on a sign, and
that was like, that's very specific. We have a ton in our neighborhood.
(22:45):
That's say, class of twenty thirtyone. Those are gonna be up
for a while. Yes, it'slike if you go to if you had
to middle school, you get those. I don't know, I'm new to
Rockford. You guys tell me sixone, six, four, five,
eight, five seven, collar sevenfirst shot at the number one answer.
One hundred women surveyed, Name areason you put up signs in your neighborhood,
you could be headed to the TotallyTubular Festival with Star Win. Oh
(23:07):
five point seven, Good morning, star. Who's this? Hey? This
is Marlon. How are you doing? Good? Marla? Where you calling
for this morning? Oh? Allright, Marla, let's see we can
get you into the totally Tubular Festival. You gotta tell me. One hundred
women were asked to name a reasonwhy you might put signs around your neighborhood.
(23:30):
What do you think? Their topanswer was there, Marla, they're
having a yard sale, having ayard sale. When's the last time you
hosted a yard sale? Last summer? Oh? Last summer. I was
thinking you were gonna tell me,Oh, I don't even remember it.
I was gonna say, that's timeto clear out your junk. But you're
probably nice and organized right now,Marla. And you've also gone concert plans
yard sales. The top answer congratulation. Heck, yes, it was yard
(23:55):
sale followup. I lost Pats. That's a sad but good answer. There.
You see people put signs up election, Yeah, we're seeing a few
of those right now and missing personhopefully. Yeah, your neighbors are coming
together for something like that, roundingout those answers. But Marlow, you
were going to the Totally Tubular Festivallater this month over at Meadowbrook with like
a dozen awesome eighties artists. Congratulations, I thank you, You're very welcome,
(24:18):
and we'll battle again tomorrow another chancefor you to win eight fifteen here
on starting on five and so goodone and two. It's Mack and Schmitty
and I want to talk to youabout borrowing, Schmitty risky game. It
is a risky game. Do youdo you find yourself borrowing from friends and
family random items. I'm not talkingabout money at all. Let's let's keep
money out of there. We're actuallyreally bad, Like we'll just buy the
stuff. Yeah, especially when itcomes to like lawn and yard tools.
(24:41):
Oh it's funny that you say that, Switty, because that's where I should
be. Apparently, I just gotneighbor shamed and I deserved it so bad
because I, as you know,I just came back and I had COVID.
So what did I do when Ihad COVID? Well, I stayed
outside and did yard work all weekendlong. You know, I was staying
away from my family and I wasin the basement for the moment, and
(25:02):
I was like, I'm going powerwash. I'm gonna power wash everything. It's
like my favorite thing to do there. And I'm like, I've got the
power washer or the guitar in thegarage. You know what I need.
I need that circular one that's greaton like floorine and driveways and things that
spins around. I'm like, myneighbor, my neighbor, Kirk, he's
got one of those. I usedit before and that's exactly what it'll be
(25:23):
perfect for, you know, medoing this this weekend. So I go
ahead to I text him and I'mlike, hey, man, I'm just
about to do some power washing thisweekend. Do you think I could borrow
your circular powerwash extender. He's like, yeah, no problem. He goes,
I know right where it is.He goes, Okay, I'll walk
over and get it. He goes, won't have to go too far.
You kept it. He goes, row into your garage. He goes,
(25:48):
go look over in the corner rightover by carpet and there's some paddles and
stuff like that. He goes, and I like, as he's telling me
this, like my gut is fallingout and he knows exactly where it is,
which means he's been like me,mugging you for months. Like,
bro, it's in your garage.I borrowed it from him over a year
ago, last scream, last spring. The only reason he knew where it
(26:11):
was. He starts laughing. He'slike, when you had a silver for
beers a couple of months ago.I saw it in your garage and he
goes, I had completely forgotten aboutit. Clearly you did too, but
yes, my thing is in yourgarage. I felt hair, Yeah,
somebody else's stuff you don't return,especially neighbor that's such a little over a
year. That's a bad one.It was I've heard months. I felt
(26:33):
terrible about it, but I mean, what are you gonna do there?
Like, and that's what I mean. Have you ever held on to something
that you borrowed for way too long? No? But I think it's because
Chris has had experiences like that,so he'll wait for sales on stuff and
be like, Yep, never haveto ask for a powerwasher again, Yep,
don't need to do a weight whip. I heard a crazy story just
the other day about a neighbor thatlent someone a chainsaw gone for months,
(26:55):
and when they finally confronted the wife, she admitted they took it back to
the store for a cash rape.No kidding, they like effectively pawn it.
Oh, It's like, that's nothow borrowing work. I was like,
that's just theft, Shmidia. I'mpretty sure in the definition. Mere
me rid there. Yeah, whatis the thing that you held on to
(27:15):
for just way too long. We'vegot this going on our Facebook page right
now. There's more than one personthat says my ex boyfriends my ex.
There's a lot of those on there. Schmidty, happily return that for cash
refunds. Yeah, go ahead, join this conversation at West Michigan Star sometime.
Dose. I get a good feelingalready, an absolutely perfect day.
(27:36):
It looks like cross West Manchig getlots of Sunshine's gonna be in the mid
seventies. Only can make a bettera couple of feel good stories right now,
spinning what you got and feeling good? All right. So this is
a bittersweet story, and it's abouta group of West Michigan volunteers that are
helping grieving parents. They call themselvesAbigail's Attic and They are a local group
of expert sewers that are helping hospitalsspread where it's needed the most, and
(28:00):
that's the nicke you. Judy Fieldsfounded Abigail's Attic back in twenty fifteen.
See she had the idea even beforethat when her sister lost her daughter Abigail
at thirty weeks back in two thousand. After holding Abigail in her arms,
Judy new she needed to do somethingto help out, and that is now
the aim of Abigail's Attic. Itleads the team into turning things like donated
(28:22):
wedding dresses into burial gowns, whilealso making kimonos, wraps, blankets,
baby bracelets, angels, and teddybears for keepsake bags that they then give
completely free of charge to grieving families. Judy even talked about one specific volunteer,
Paula. One of the volunteers madetwo hundred raps in a month.
(28:45):
Two hundred raps in a month. It goes far beyond the families as well,
even giving to current care. StephenGalthin is the regional medical director of
Trinity Health's Newborn Services and discovered thatthey were in need of custom covers for
ink baters, not something you caneasily buy offline. His wife actually started
this mission and then discovered Abigail's Attic. They turned out to be the perfect
(29:08):
team. My wife actually went outand bought a bunch of fabric and was
starting this process on her own,and she realized how big of a job
it was. And they have proventime and time again for us that if
there's a need, they're willing torespond to that, and they've been doing
that since twenty fifteen. Steven tellsFox seventeen, Abigail's Attic will have sixteen
custom covers ready by the end ofthe month. Wow. Pretty cool.
(29:30):
Then, I'm sure if you wereinterested in volunteering for this, they would
love to have your help as well. So if you want to check out
Abigail's Attic, one beautiful group ofpeople right there. I chbiddy. This
is just a feat of engineering thatI found fascinating and super cool, and
so do people who were downtown Moskeganyesterday by Third Street as they watched a
house being moved. And the crazything about this house, there's several crazy
(29:52):
things. It was not the firsttime this home was moved. I'm talking
about the famous Nelson House in downtownMuskegan that it over one hundred and fifty
years old. Built in eighteen sixtynine, so it's one hundred and fifty
five years old. The home originallysat on what is now Hackley Park over
there, but checked this out eighteenninety Schmidty. They made plans to build
(30:12):
the park and everything, and insteadof tearing down the house, they moved
it on logs. It's probably historical. They lifted it up and moved it
on logs. It's very historical. It actually got moved to its current location
next to the Saint Jean Baptiste CatholicChurch there on Jefferson Street, and it
remained there for one hundred and thirtythree years. Was about to be torn
down, and the city stepped inand said, look, this is one
(30:34):
of the original homes of downtown Muskegon. It's been moved, it's got huge
history, let's keep it. Sothis city's spent about two hundred thousand dollars
to actually have this house moved. It is now going to be over moving
to the Historic District where it's goingto be put up for sale. But
all sorts of residents long time thereyesterday watching this happen at WZZM talked to
(30:55):
James Higtower, who said, thisis just an amazing thing to see.
It's interesting when something this amazing doeshappen so close to home, as you
can see. It's uh. Onceagain, it's just uh, it's something
that it is very great and amazingand uh you see the level of technology
and things that we put together andI'm just sitting here and joining it like
the rest of the people are.Man be amazing to see it moved in
(31:18):
eighteen ninety, but it's still prettycool to see it move today again.
You can check it out three eightytwo West Moskeig can happenue in the historic
district here in Mysquige. Yeah, feeling good coming at you a couple times
a day. I always here totell you about something neat going on out
there. Let's do it tomorrow sixforty five and nine twenty on Star Mack
and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six am on Star one oh
