Speaker 2 (00:10):
It. Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one
O five point.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Seven morning, thrilled. It's Friday, Thank goodness. T G I
f right, I mean, uh, going into this weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Just yesterday, Smitty, my wife says, She goes, oh, are
you excited for our fall preview?
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
I am well, and I go, I go, I am
jacked for this, and she goes, really, I'm a little bummed.
She was like, I was kind of hoping it'd be
you know, nicer, maybe we'd go up north or go
to Lakeshort And I'm like, oh, you're talking about the weather.
I thoughtually was talking about the Lions game.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
Bring it up.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
It's a preseason game. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
So many years hang on, so many years of being
the preseason world champs as a Lions fan, you just
can't care about wins and lost preseason hurry.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
We went forward on fourth down inside of the town.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
Here any trash about my bears this early on, but
no talking about the fall.
Speaker 5 (01:05):
Y'all.
Speaker 6 (01:06):
Get that hoodie and short combo ready. It's gonna be
a beautiful weekend. The humidity is gone low, seventies, especially
if you're one of those parents that realizes this is it.
You've got like one solid week left before it is
back to school for the kids.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
It's going to be a great one to get out
and make some memories.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
It's the celebrities gup on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
We've gotten further updates from Austrian authorities in Vienna following
the cancelation of three aristour stops for Taylor Swift in
the city, boiling a terror attack that was even further
along than authorities had originally realized. One suspect actually employed
by the venue days before Taylor was set to come
(01:59):
to town. A seventeen year old suspect behind the near
disaster barely got a job just a few days ago
at Ernstaples Stadium, seemingly trying to better position himself and
his accomplice for their alleged terror attack. He was arrested
outside the venue. More details have emerged about the alleged actions,
(02:20):
CNN reporting the nineteen year old suspect quit his job
back in July even changed his full appearance, telling people
around him he had something very big planned. Cops say
they found twenty one thousand euros of counterfeit cash, as
well as a blue police light for his car to
get better access to the arena's periphery.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
CNN says the seventeen.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Year old had broken up with his girlfriend recently, possibly
a trigger that sent him to join this group, and
a fifteen year old who was detained may have only
known about the plot, was not an active part in
the planning. This is really wild. They also gave further
clarification on chemicals found in the nineteen year old's home,
(03:02):
barrels of hydrogen peroxide used in makeshift explosives. He had
also allegedly downloaded bomb making instructions. Authority say the whole
of Europe remains on high alert with serious concern that
ISIS is now using Austria as an operational area.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I mean, that's just terrifying knowing that this group was
out there and had gone that far.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
With their plants close seconds.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Goodness, they were also that stupid to be out well,
thank goodness.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
They were caught.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
You see the thousands of people that still showed up yesterday,
like trading out friendship bracelets, singing Taylor Swift songs.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
I mean, the swifty.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
Fans were really disappointed by this, but hopefully they have
caught everyone involved because the investigation is ongoing with this.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
Guardi B is speaking out after recently suffering what she
calls a freak accident, sharing with fans it almost cost
her baby number three. Remember it's just a few weeks
ago she announced her pregnant see and she is talking
on X about what happened.
Speaker 7 (04:04):
I had a freak accident and that little thing almost
cost me for my little one to come.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
She went into tetail, saying she slipped while going down
the stairs and she heard a pop after the incident,
which left her unable to move. She was actually screaming
out for help at one point, trying to sleep off
the pain. She said the situation became so bad she
went to the hospital, where she learned she tore a
ligament in her pelvis and was dilated. She claims she
(04:32):
began having contractions every two minutes for almost an entire
twenty four hours. She was finally released from the hospital
after getting the green light. She was sent home on
bedreth and is now doing a very strict routine of
physical therapy.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, your pelvist pretty integral to the whole birthing thing.
I'm pretty sure share there you go, okay.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Lauren Hill breaking her silence on the surprise cancelation of
the North American leg of the Boujie's Reunion tour. People
were so excited about this, the singer pointing out to
skewed clickbait press headlines about an injury that forced her
to reschedule her tour last year, claiming that because the
(05:15):
media created this negative narrative, it turned people off from
buying tickets and ultimately low ticket sales cost them the tour.
She said, Unfortunately, the trust and faith I have in
my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to
have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal. But audiences in
(05:35):
the UK and Europe will still get to see the tour.
She promises North American fans that they look forward to
figuring out how to resolve these unforeseen circumstances and when
they're ready, they'll be back in full force.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Lauren Hill takes things differently than most people. Let's speak real.
Lauren Hill's a sensitive, sensitive person, it seems like, and
that's okay. It's just that it's a bummer for her
because I feel like those sensitivities have cost multiple tours
for the Fujis.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
Like she's just too personal about low ticket sales.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I mean, but I think that blaming it on other
things get creative. You're the Fujies. People love you. I
am shocked, honestly though the ticket sales were bad, just
because I would have thought it'd be through the roof.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Sometimes because I get a good feeling, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Hight Schmitty, of course, uh Fridays, it's just easier to
get feeling good. But we bring the stories all the same.
Feeling good right now in starving on five points seven
of the smack and Schmitty.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
And you know the sound of it.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Pickleball schmitty, And of course neighbors of pickleball courts also
know the sound of it. Unfortunately, because it's extremely loud
and it can be very upsetting to people who happen
to live by courts that are constantly hearing that noise
over and over again. It's led to lawsuits and different
neighbor hood's banning the playing of pickle ball, including over
(07:03):
in Walker, which is ironic because it's also where a
solution may have been born too, and Excel Digital Solutions
founded by Tyler Marvin as well as Brandon Teats of
Walker though just here in twenty twenty four and in
just a few months they've got their first products out
the door ready to come to a pickleball court near you,
(07:24):
and that is a silent three D printed pickleball. This
is so cool. They have basically come up with just
the perfect materials to come together to form a three
D printed ball right there at their shop and Walker
that is not only the same weight, the same feel,
the same bounce as a normal pickleball, but best of all,
(07:47):
it has no loud sound when people strike it. This
is a game changer for pickleball courts that have obviously
come under fire for just being way too long. Talking
to Fox seventeen said, you know, they came through a
lot of different choices, but hopefully this is something that's
finally going to help the game continue to grow.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Probably done roughly twenty iterations and designs of this product
to get it where it needs to be so it
could be approved into the sport which it is now,
and this is one way we think that it can
continue to grow and not get stalled out by the
nuisance and noise.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, so you could actually check this out now. This
has been approved by USA Pickleball, So this is an
official pickleball that you could pick up now. Again, it
is Excel Digital Solutions right here in Walker, Michigan.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
We'll love to do that with my kids toys. Hey,
give me a call Walker, all right.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Colin Walton and his twin brother Brennan both dominated in
baseball and basketball over the past four years at Okamus
High School. But consider this graduating and not really having
plans to continue with sports. That's when you get a
call from MSU head basketball coach Tom Izzo. So impressed
(08:59):
with the twins when they played East Lancing this past year,
he invited them to be walk on players at Michigan State.
This is pretty incredible, coaches Hotels wiox but caught his eye.
Speaker 8 (09:12):
I saw him play against east Land Scene last year
and I thought they're pretty good. And my guy Andre Hudson,
Andre says, man, you know those guys are pretty good,
you know, And I kind of said should get him
over here and at least talk to him. You know
what I'm hoping is that they're going to play sometimes.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
Somewhere and they're gonna hopefully be playing for Michigan State
as the preferred walk Ons. Originally, Brennan was considering entering
the Marines and Colin was looking to continue school at Central,
but the brothers could not pass up this opportunity.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
I couldn't think of a better opportunity, even just being
walck Ons.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
I think it should be a really special opportunity, especially
for both of us.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
But for both of us to play here would.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Be pretty sweet, pretty sweet.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Indeed, the brothers said that they could not be happier
to be playing for the coach and the team they
grew up rooting for.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
I mean, your opportunity to go and learn from one
of the Grady's coaches of all time.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Yeah, super excited as a spartan, very.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Cool, feeling good comes down to a couple of times
to day. I always here to perk you up a
little bet and we'll do it again coming up at
nine and twenty on Star one five point seven.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
Seven, While Austrian authorities continue to investigate that foiled terror
plot that was supposed to go down during Taylor's aristour
stop in Vienna, Taylor's team is confirming the London shows.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
Will go on as planned.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
Videos surfaced yesterday of tons of Swifties in Austria still
showing up to the stadium and singing together outside. Still
a ton of sadness there as all three of those
(10:56):
shows were canceled. These still exchanged friendship bracelets. A lot
of TikTok's showed fans so showing up in their planned
Taylor Swift Era's outfits. But Taylor's team says the London shows,
set for August fifteenth to the twentieth at the famed
Wembley Stadium, our full steam ahead. Taylor's camp has been
(11:16):
teaming up with tour promoter AEG as well as Wembley
to beef up security and there are reasons that even
go beyond the Vienna plots. Sources are saying that they've
been conversing about this and planning it far before what
happened in Vienna. We talked about it yesterday following that
terror attack back in twenty seventeen at the Manchester Arena
(11:36):
where Ariana Grande was performing. They have made very very
certain that swifties will be safe. Who plan to go
to those London shows next week?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
I will say pretty awesome and inspiring of those fans
to show up on the grounds of the canceled concert
and sing together and exchange those friendship bracelets.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Help a little bit, Yeah, well, just.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Letting music do its thing and bring people together and
be a sign of love instead of you know what
those guys were trying to represent.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
All right. Selena Gomez has fans thinking she is in gaged.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
Whether this is true or not, it's actually all on
her this time. The rumors have been swirling for months now.
But it's the Instagram post that Selena dropped yesterday. It's
a mere selfie of her in this gorgeous white dress,
but she has two heart emojis right over her ring finger.
(12:28):
Fans immediately flooding the comments with congratulations, saying there's no
way this was accidental. She is purposefully hiding that ring finger.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I mean, it would be weird to be accidental, Like,
you know, people are already talking about it.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
So a pretty big troll booth.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
She also had a big collage of different pictures from
over the summer between her and Benny Blanco.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Whether or not they're actually engaged.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
You know this couple, They're probably not going to be
coming out with the public comment anytime soon. Finally, Katie
Perry the latest star to spill her favorite products for
British vogues in the Bag series. The thirty nine year
old singer showed up with her large black Hermes bag
for a six minute clip, showing fans all of the
(13:13):
things she regularly carries around. But it's her lint roller
and what she admits she does with it that kind
of have people weirded out today.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I will lint roll the bottom of my feet before
I get into bed. Is that weird? Do we all
have weird things like that? I think we do.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
I just shared mine with the world.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
She didn't really explain why, but she says yep, she
has to go everywhere with a fresh lint roller and
refuses to go to sleep without lint rolling the bottom of.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Her feet before bed.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
The only way that would make any sense at all
is if she wears socks to bed, which I feel
like would have been been explained there, because otherwise that
makes absolutely.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
Do it though, if you just lint rolled and then
put linty.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Socks back on, well, I would have assumed that you
do them with the socks already on your feet.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
In the I've got the interview for you, she's got
some great secrets that she shares West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
With all your skills, it's almost here for all of us,
and hopefully you're going to make the most of it.
And you know, make some of those as you put
them to Mady nostalgic memory. So you're hoping to bring
a little nostalgia to your summertime.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Yeah, I feel bad because I posted about this on
Facebook yesterday at West Michigan Star and I think I
stressed a lot of people out, which was not my intention.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
Because it's hard, especially as a parent. You feel like and.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
You're told you only have so many summers with your kids.
So now it's August ninth for a lot of school
districts in West Michigan. You're back a week from monday. Yeah,
you have just what nine days of summer left and
it is the first day of school, so you try
to make the most of it and create these memories.
(14:49):
And I'm really excited because I'm kind of throwing it
back tonight and I've been wanting to do this for years,
but my kids just weren't old enough, and so we're
finally doing it tonight. I'm gonna take Will, who's six,
to the drive in. We're gonna go to the Getty
drive in in Miskegan and see Twisters. Dude, that is
(15:10):
so I'm so exciting. I've never been to a movie
at the drive in. I've worked probably eight to ten
events with Getty, but like, I've never stayed for the movie.
I've always hosted things and started the movies and this
and that, and then I end up like having to
go home to take care of the kids or whatever.
So this will be the first time I've actually gone
(15:32):
and sat through an entire drive in movie.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
And I'm so excited. We're going with a bunch of friends.
Speaker 6 (15:36):
We're gonna take the truck and put an air mattress
in the flatbed with a bunch of pillows and blankets.
And he's really excited. He saw Twister for the first
time a couple months ago, and I was really surprised
he loved it. He wasn't scared at all. I've seen Twisters,
and I think it's appropriate for him. I don't think
there's gonna be any problem. So we're going out to
(15:56):
do that, and I'm just I'm putting way too much
pressure on it. I know that, Like I'm thinking this
is going to be perfection and something will probably go wrong,
but I just I hope it's going to be one
of those things. We're not going with Sophia, right, so
it's just me and him, which I think he's also
really excited about to just sometimes do things without little Sis.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
One hundred percent, and I'm excited.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
I think this is hopefully just going to be one
of those core things where he's like, man, my favorite
part of the summer was going to the drive.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
In with my mom.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
I thought this was such a rat idea when you
told me this yesterday. I think he will feel that
way because the drive in is just one of those
larger than life, magical experiences that you only truly appreciate,
I feel like when you're a kid.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
Because he's never even been to a movie.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Well, so on top of that strangeness, but being outdoors,
seeing everybody else out of their vehicles, just watching something
in a completely different way yea, in your head, you
know what I mean, you imagine what this looks like.
But he's probably The funny part is is the best
example of a drive in movie theater you've given your
son up until this point in his life is in
the movie Twister, when the tornado rips through the whole
(16:59):
thing attack people.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
Maybe maybe there's no better movie to take your impressionable
child too and to see outside than Twisters.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
He's gotta be scar just pulling up. He's like, are
we sure this is the movie we should watch here?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Mom of all places?
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Buckle up, dude.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
But I was asking if there was a favorite summer
memory you've had, and, like I said, I felt bad.
It's like Lisa wrote, I don't have any good ones yet.
I've got two weeks left to make some before school starts.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
And it's like, oh, I didn't mean to stress you out.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
Because what's really weird is if you ask your kids
what their favorite part of summer was, guaranteed it was
probably the smallest thing you didn't even think about, Like, oh,
remember when we were sitting out on the deck that
one random night catching lightning bugs. Yep, So I think
you're all doing it right. I'm just I just want
to go see Twisters for a second time.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Let's let's just be real.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
I'm gonna say it's the nostalgic summer core memory thing,
but I just really want to go see Twisters again.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
I was gonna say, there's no nostalgia for your son
that's coming from this. Everything's a brand new experience. Let's
be real about who this is for.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Join it together.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Like I'm just I'm explaining that, uh six pot six
four five eight, one oh five seven. If you had
something really cool that happened for you or your kids
this summer, maybe you're listening on our iHeartRadio app. You
can drop a talk back comment. I don't really love
to hear it. And if you haven't done anything yet,
you're totally fine. We've still got like a couple.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Of weeks, two weeks back in Schmidty in the Morning
on Star one oh five point seven times.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Let's go and see take time, spill the two sweetheart.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
All right, let's do it tea time on Fridays where
we take your dirt, your gossip, the things going on
in your world. Just last week, Smitty, somebody on Facebook said, man,
you and Schmitty sure do have a load of drum
on your loves. This isn't our lives people, you.
Speaker 6 (18:39):
Guys said, no, man, trust me, I'm usually napping.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
There's no way.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Uh No.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
We invite you to either email us, send us a
DM on social we'll keep you anonymous. But this is
stuff we've gotten from other people. It's just most times
they don't want their names shared. Yeah, like today, who
this is a good one? Got a message that said, guys,
is this awesome or dangerous? Which is my new favorite
way a message starts. My co worker accidentally got added
(19:09):
to an email thread that's only for our managers. She
was going to say something, but they started discussing promotions, layoffs,
and other big moves at work.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
I'm the only other person.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
That knows, and we've found out about a lot of stuff.
But this also feels fireble can you even bring it
up at this point?
Speaker 2 (19:30):
So this is hilarious to me. One, it is awesome
assuming they're not talking about you know you in the layoffs, right.
Speaker 6 (19:39):
And I'm assuming they have it right, like, if you're
sending this message, they're not being like, oh, this person
doesn't pull their away.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
But what I love about this is that this message
came from a friend who was told about these things
from the person that was accidentally put on the email.
Because what I would have told you is, of course,
this is not a fireable offense. It was somebody else's fault,
nothing to do with you. You shared it with your
friend is the fireable offense. You have made a fireable offense.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
I tell you.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
Tanya popped in and she she's gotta be the pro
on this because she said, hr here, oh great. Is
there a privacy disclaimer at the bottom of the email?
No matter if they send an email to original sender only,
maybe they won't look to see how far back they've
been sending. I would respond back to the one original
sender and say please remove me from any future emails,
(20:26):
as I feel I should not be a part of them.
I was thinking this might have been any one time error. However,
just in case, emails have been deleted, Thank you so
much signature Tanya, I respect that.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Keep going, Kate. I would not absolutely not.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
I want to know exactly what's going on, and also
how many people are on the chain, because they might
never realize that you're a part of this. There's twenty
thirty names on this thing.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Who could know?
Speaker 6 (20:51):
And it's on them that reply all button should only
be used in certain situations. But now the conspiracy part
of me is nervous because both Debbie and.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
Kate said this is a test.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:04):
Oh, they realized that they put you on at some point,
and now they are wondering if you're going to bring
it up to that.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
If that sounds far fetched to you, you don't work
for our company, because our company sends out fake emails
to try and get us to fall for phishing scams
all the time, and you get in trouble if you
fall for I.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Don't know, man, what do you guys think? Would you?
Would you say something? Can you?
Speaker 6 (21:28):
At this point, I get the vibe from this message
that there's been weeks of emails going on. Here join
our comments on Facebook. Posted up the message at West
Michigan Star.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Well, not surprising.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
Taylor is just heartbroken over having to cancel those three
Aris tour shows in Vienna following that terrorist plot, and
she's turned to Travis Kelsey. A source says, Travis contacted
Taylor immediately when he heard the news on Wednesday and
talked with her for hours to see how she was
doing with the tense situation. The Sura says he has
(22:13):
one of his phones always next to him when he
goes to sleep, especially in case she needs to talk
to him, and they did spend long hours on the
phone because it's just not a common situation to deal with.
He always wants to be Taylor's rock and biggest fan,
number one support no matter what happens. They add that
Travis was feeling very relieved that the concerts got canceled.
(22:33):
He believes as well, it's the best decision to be
taken in this kind of context. He even suggested flying
to Austria to be with Taylor, even if it was
just for a day or two, because of course he's
deep in NFL camp right now. But Taylor said she's
gonna be fine and is just working and focusing on
the next big London dates, which will obviously wrap up
(22:53):
that European leg of the Arastour.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
You know what a strange and surreal thing to have
to worry about your girlfriend for right, like all of
a sudden, you have to think like I am in
this insane relationship where not only is it you know,
I'm dating the biggest celebrity on the planet, but I
have to worry about things that just other people never
even have to think about.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
Well, and not just her physical safety, but I'm sure
he's concerned.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
About her mental well being.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
She is so close with her fans to have to
close down three shows because of this, no doubt takes
a toll on someone like Taylor Swift. Ariana Grande is
laying out how dehumanizing the impact of hackers leaking her
music has become, admitting to Hot one's host Sean Evans,
(23:41):
she's also a little bit torn about things, giving an
update on the season finale of the hit YouTube series
how much work she's put into figuring out who's been
linking her music.
Speaker 9 (23:52):
It's really hard for me because it's really disheartening and
it's like disappointing, and it sucks, and I am constantly
trying to get to the bottom of like how people
get stuff, whether it's like videos or pictures or audio songs.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
And then also like.
Speaker 9 (24:11):
Commented on, criticized, blah blah blah. So it's conflicting because
that is very frustrating and feels very dehumanizing. And then
the other side is like, but I'm so grateful to
be an artist that people care about, and my fans
want more of me, so they're going to these extremes
to steal and break in.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
It's so lovely to be loved.
Speaker 9 (24:31):
No, but yeah, I sit somewhere in between like being
grateful to be here at all and being like, but really, come.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
On, it's definitely a weird feel.
Speaker 6 (24:42):
I'm sure she has not minced words in the past,
calling hackers, thieves, pirates, and crooks.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Even tweeting you up point I will literally see you
in jail if I have it my way.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Well, and you know she's talking about her music and
some things there. But let's not forget Ariana Grande. A
whole bunch of other people had hackers steal their personal photos.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
Finally, big news that was I think attempted to be
kept under the radar. But Russell Brand has been axed
from the Despicable Me film series after being hit with
those allegations of rape and sexual assault. He has voiced
scientist doctor Nefario in every other movie of the hit series.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Question what's on these.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Robots? Cookie robots.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
I said, cookie robots, what why are you? Why are
you so old?
Speaker 6 (25:45):
A source tells The Sun it's a shock that Russell
is no longer involved in the Despicable Me films because
he's been a fixture fixture since the first plus. There
was very little fanfare when comedian Romesh Randganathan took over
the role. Universal didn't really make an announcement, nobody did
anything in press. Feels like the bosses just wanted to
(26:07):
make a quick change without anyone really noticing.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Honestly, I never even knew that it was Russell Brand.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
Who did go that's up with that Despicable Me for
out It's and he's really great too. Romeshren Ganathan is hilarious.
But he will be the new Doctor Nafario. All of
your celebscoop at West Michigan star Doc.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Black and Smidty and in at his time for a
Battle of the Sexes and getting you out for what

Speaker 2 (26:47):
I mean, honestly, I can't believe it's not on this
list of the top answers. But how is the the
combo lotion slash candle store not on here?
Speaker 7 (26:56):
Like?
Speaker 2 (26:56):
I mean, I feel like I have to have some
sort of out of that bath and body work style
store at every single mall I've ever been to.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
Trying to think of all the kiosks six one, six, four, one,
five seven.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
One hundred men surveyed.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Besides closed, name a store you always see at the mall.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
Collar seven.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
You'll get the first chance at the number one answer,
and you could be headed.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
To the Greatest Show on Earth with Star one oh
five point seven.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Good morning Star. Who's this?
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Hey, Chelsea?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
You said, Chelsea, Hey, Chelsea, Let's get you over to
the Greatest show on Earth. You gotta tell me, Chelsea.
When one hundred guys were asked, other than a clothing store,
tell me a type of store you always see at
the mall. I'm gonna say a sporting good You're going
sporting goods store. Yeah, you know, we got a Dix
(27:47):
over there at Woodland. However that's not on the list.
Speaker 7 (27:50):
I'm sorry, all right, we'll have a great weekend.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
You too, Chelsea. See yu, yep fight Hi star. Who's this?
Speaker 2 (28:00):
I just got a great guest from Chelsea. When a
Hunter guys were asked other than a clothing store, name
of type of store you always seem to see at
the mall, she went with the sporting goods store, which
was not on the list. So, Tim, you got a
shot here. What do you think it is?
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Well, you know, honestly, I was thinking the sporting good
store too, So God, that's a tough fun. It can't
be clothing.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
I'm gonna go with the jewelry store.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Going with the jewelry store, you know what. I feel
like every mall's got at least three of them, and
then they have all the like little Chinsey jewelry places too,
like the like the Claire's and the Charlotte's and all
that kind of stuff, jewelry stores all over the place.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Top answer, Tim, Well.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Done, sir, awesome, Thank you very much. Yeah, you got
four tickets to go check out the Ringling Brothers and
Barnum and Bailey the Greatest Show on Earth when it
rolls over to Vanael Arena this November. Congrats. Oh yeah,
it's gonna be an absolute blast. Congratulations, Tim. More tickets
on the way as well. We'll hook you up all
next week with your chance to win Battle of the
(29:03):
Sexes eight fifteen here on Star Win five point seven.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Thanks for hanging with us, Mack and Schmitty.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
And of course mosquitos all summer long, especially living in Michigan.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
It's just part of what you deal with.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
You hope you're one of those people that has whatever
blood they don't like because it seems like it's hit
or miss. Right, you're one of the people they love
or not so much.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
I'm not a.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Big I don't feel like I get feasted on too much,
but I do feel like there are certain spots where
you get a mosquito bite and it's just so much
worse than the typical one that winds up on your
arm or your leg or something.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
It's so bad, it's so bad.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
And like, so I put this up on Facebook and
all the usual suspects are there, right, Schmitty, we know
the bad spots.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Your knuckles, oh, knuckles are bad.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
On the ankle bone right there on the ankle bone between.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
Your fingers is worse than knuckles.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Between the fingers is a bad one. You know what
a lot of people put on here that I don't.
I can't think of a time that I experienced it
under the foot, on the bottom of your foot.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Yeah, I've had one in the arch right now.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
So I submit to you one of my maybe the
worst place to get it that I think I have
ever had. I've had all of those. The knuckles on
the ankle, those are all terrible. I got bit two
days ago and have been living a nightmare ever since.
You ever got bit on your ear lobe before?
Speaker 5 (30:22):
Oh, I don't know if my ear lobe has.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
So on my left ear lobe right now is a
big old jump mosquito bite that like has me swatting
my face in the middle of the night because it
just starts itching so bad. The like the like histamine
has like broken on it a little bit on the top,
so it just keeps on, Yeah, burning, itching constantly, and
(30:45):
you don't realize how much you are already touching your
face like anytime, like imagine there's something like a hair
in your nose. How often you're like pinching your nose
to it. It's on my ear and I can't stop
flicking it. I can't stop itching it in the middle
of the night. It's the worst. Like I have I
been thinking about this. You know, Vincent van go We
famously took off his own ear. It wasn't for his lover.
(31:06):
It was because he got bit by a mosquito.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
I gotta tell you, I think I can beat it.
My daughter got bit on her eyelids.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
How does that happen?
Speaker 6 (31:14):
I think it's a dumb mosquito. Oh you were first
of all. I don't think there's blood you can draw
out of an eyelid.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
But you just went straight.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
She got it while we were camping over the weekend.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
You want to see somebody swatting their face for no reason.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
God, and she's a toddler too, so she's got no
idea why this mosquito has chosen to wreck her life
and weird.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
Looking eye in her arms and legs are all bloody
from scratching the bikes. She's like a walking John Clompender horror.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Film The ear RDS. But Sophia, you win, buddy, You win.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Sometime because I get a good feeling.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Well, playing feel good music and sharing feel good stories
while we're at It's not on a five point seven macka.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Smitty with you.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
I've talked a lot about the married couples and those
dating that are actually competing in the Paris Olympics together,
which has to be really cool. But if I could
single out, I think my most favorite couple, it is
easily Tara Davis Woodhall and her husband Hunter. And yesterday
(32:16):
all that hard work came to fruition, Tara grabbing the
gold metal in the long jump. And before this, her
husband Hunter put the sweetest Instagram post up saying, I'm
so humbled by you. You've battled through so much just
to give yourself a chance. You've inspired so many with
your authenticity. This is your moment. Enjoy every bit of it.
(32:36):
I know you are ready. But then, watching the live
coverage of the long jump, hearing him cheer for her
at one point, she goes back to the stands to
talk with him during the competition, Joe, good jump, baby, what.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Ap for one jump? I just want you to think about
everything's been through.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
I mean, how supportive is that? Well?
Speaker 6 (32:59):
It gets even better because when she finally grabs that
gold medal. He is sobbing and listen to this emotion.
Oh my god, baby, My most favorite part is I
(33:23):
watched this live. At one point, Tara's friend gives her
a gold crown and she's kind of just holding on
to it. When she runs up to her husband, he
literally took it out of her hand and put it
on her head.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
I mean, the Internet is just like, this is marriage.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
This is a husband not afraid to celebrate his wife's achievements.
This is the best kind of teamwork you could imagine.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
This is love. It is so good.
Speaker 6 (33:48):
I put up like a whole reel of reactions he's
had over his wife's competition.
Speaker 5 (33:53):
West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Very cool.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
And you know what, let's keep it in Paris and
go from a husband's love of his wife competing to
that of a mother watching her son and the story
of them getting there. I'm talking about long distance swimmer
Ivan Puskovich and his mom Robin. Ivan was there yesterday
competing at the twenty twenty four Olympics there in Paris
in marathon swimming SCHMDDI, the ten kilometer race that is
(34:21):
a long distance of swim on case you're unawear, that's
six point two miles that you are swimming. But the
story of them getting there was incredible because it included
a lot of adversity along the way. Ivan was a
pretty talented swimmer from a young age, and he broke
national records swound up by excelling in his sport despite
(34:42):
his family's ever present financial struggles. His mom was his
coach until he was thirteen. She was sacrificing a lot
in her life to make his dreams come true, even
sending them, his brother and he to a private school.
But in twenty seventeen, she lost a vision in a
right eye, woke up one morning. Next thing she knew
she had to undergo ten separate surgeries, which left the
(35:05):
family in absolutely dire financial straits and left them homeless
for an extended period of time. Well, despite that time,
Ivan watched his mom continue to persevere and fight through
and it was something that he said gave him a
ton of inspiration to continue to follow his own dreams.
He wound up getting a scholarship to the University of
(35:27):
Southern cal and then this February he qualified for those
Olympic Games, and when people found out his story. Well,
they made sure that Robin was going to be there
to watch her son at the Olympics. Did a crowdfunding
effort that raised twenty nine thousand dollars. So yesterday at
the Olympics, Robin got to be there to watch her
(35:49):
son compete in the most important event of his life.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
And so cool to see this.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Robin talking together with Ivan to Good Morning America about
just what this meant.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
I'm straining and then the dogs start barking, and I'm thinking, like,
oh my god, my kids just made the Olympics. And
I bet the neighbors hate me right now for being
so loud if I'm fucking the morning, but I don't care.
So to see him touch his dream and grab it,
(36:20):
I can't even like, I have you spokes right now.
I's like, you can't even explain what that's like.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
I mean, it's just gonna feel right.
Speaker 9 (36:28):
I mean, she is definitely a sacrifice, the most is
the most deserving of being able to live.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
You know, see the culmination of all sacrifice, you know.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
I mean, this is like, this is it's very much
my moment, but it's also like a moment in her
own life too.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
A moment they shared together yesterday, from homeless to Paris.
Really cool. Feeling good comes out a couple of times today.
I always want to share something great with you. We'll
do it again on Monday, six forty five and nine
twenty on Start one oh five point seven. Mac and
Schmidy in the morning weekdays starting at six am on
Star one oh five point seven
