Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going and makes me laugh.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
It Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one
oh five point seven. Good morning Smitty.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Happy Friday, y'all, big.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Time, Happy Friday to you. Thursday night, though, of course,
kicked off the NFL season last night, and pretty great game,
pretty great ending. Although I would I will never see it.
And that's what I had to be reminded of last night.
So I was like, oh, cool, the NFL is back.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I watched the TV and then I got to about
nine fifteen last night remembered this is.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
There's no way we're ever seeing Thursday or Monday night game. No,
not Sunday night.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
That's what I was working.

Speaker 5 (00:42):
I'm going to see the Lions kick the ball, and
then I'm going to be like, you know what, the
internet is going to provide me every highlight at three
o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I'm just gonna be juice in that coffee on Monday morning,
I guess. But uh, it is big football weekend and
that is not just the NFL or just the Lions,
although we are very excited for that, but we got
a lot to get into. There's Friday night lights. Both
of our kids have football games this weekend. Let's not
bury the lead here.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Smick, Calvin University is kicking off and when you join
us for feeling good coming up at six forty five.
Something really cool happened yesterday. Some of the biggest names
speaking of the NFL given some local love. Shout out
because I know a ton of people are talking about
that big opener this.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
Weekend, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Well, let's start with that girl right there. Of course,
the kickoff to the NFL season last night with a
nice win for the Kansas City Cheaps over the Baltimore Ravens.
But for most of us, we were waiting for the
highly anticipated return of Taylor Swift. We knew she'd be
there by yesterday afternoon. When her private jet touched down
in Kansas City. She was seen wearing an absolutely stunnin outfit,

(01:54):
a figure hugging Versachi corset, tiny denim pans and thigh
and naughty boots with a Louis Baton handbag. Put in
a lot of those split rumors to rest. It's what
she was wearing on her wrist that a lot of
Swifties pointed out that diamond and gold plated bracelet that

(02:14):
Travis had gotten her valued around six grand spells out
tea and Tea thought to mean Travis and Taylor. So
they're still going strong and I think you could see
that throughout the entire game last night.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Those boots were killer, sorry out tire outfit.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Don't even get me started. I want that to be
my Halloween costume. She looked absolutely incredible. Sad news out
of the hip hop world, Rich Homie Kwan has passed
away at only thirty four. You may have seen this
all over your social media yesterday afternoon, his family saying
that they have been shattered and heartbroken by his sudden

(02:50):
death and are searching for answers. Late yesterday, the nine
one one call was released from his girlfriend, who discovered
him after taking her son to school in an ambulance.
Tell me exactly what happened my boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
He's been sleep on the couch since this morning. Well,
he never came to bed last night, sleep on the couch.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I left them on the couch before I took my
son and school this morning and put a.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Blanket over him.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And now I just checked on him again because he
never got up.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
I don't feel a heartbeat. I don't see him breathing.
It's really sad. That's his girlfriend, Amber Williams. This happened
at the Atlanta Rappers home, apparently foaming at the mouth
as well. This investigation is ongoing. The cause of death
remains unclear. But just really sad. The rapper has been
getting a ton of tributes pouring in way too young. Yeah,

(03:45):
finally some own Biles is a cool good she hears, Yes,
she knows, no more Packers care. She is all set
for the Bears. Of course, husband Jonathan Owens officially leaving
the Packers for the Bears. And you remember a couple
of weeks weeks ago the amount of hate Simone got
online which he showed up at his preseason game wearing

(04:05):
a personalized Packer coat as a Bears fan. I can
tell you real, real tough stuff to do that at Soldierfield.
She was caught up with photogs yesterday.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I have plenty now, I have plenty now. Don't even worry, guys.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
She will be all set for this weekend's official kickoff
head to toe Bears Gears.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I wasn't sure, I was gonna have a lot of
respect for Simone if she just held onto Packer's fan
hood even after the Bear's trade. I thought that would
be interesting, Like that's what would you.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Do if a cheesehead came into the Lions game.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Jared Goff's wife wears head to toe Rams gear as.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
A Lion's like when he was on the I mean
he did get drafted number one by the Rams. All
I'm saying is I have respect for people who don't choose.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
So okay, yeah, yeah, I highly doubt.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
You said you couldn't become a Lions fan, your celeb.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
Scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I'm down because I get a good feeling shimiddy. You
know when we have those lottery fantasies, are you a
generous person who also fantasizes about like your best friend,
you're the people you're closest with, maybe your siblings even
also winning. Well, what if they also want at the
same time. It's like the best thing ever, right, Like

(05:21):
we're all redshall of the sudden, That's what two siblings
in Massachusetts actually are experiencing stall on a five point seven.
It's feeling good, right, now Brockton, Massachusetts. William Frelick and
Pamela McClure might have different last names now, but they
didn't used to. They are brother and sister and every
single week they are actually playing family Birthdays the same

(05:44):
lotto numbers based on their immediate families birthdays, their moms
and their dads theirs as well. And lo and behold,
they bought tickets on two different days in two separate
stores for the same drawing, August twenty fifth, and because
they were playing the same numbers, of course, they both
won Schmitty. They both won the twenty five thousand dollars

(06:07):
a year for life at the same time. Imagine doing
that with one of your brothers. How cool would that be?
They both took the one time cash payment, gonna be
about four hundred grand richer before tax's big bro. William
is looking to put it into a saving smith. Meanwhile, sister,
are gonna be a little more frivolous. You're gonna go
traveling with the cash. But imagine winning with one of

(06:29):
your siblings at the same time. That's just awesome.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
So we are ready for an awesome kickoff tomorrow. Calvin University,
the very first year in augural moment taking on Oberlin,
and this has got to feel really good getting some
shout outs from D one schools, even the NFL videos
sent in to Calvin athletes from New Orleans Saints quarterback

(06:53):
Derek Carr. They heard from Dan Lanning, the Oregon Ducks
head coach, Mack Brown, the tight ends coach for the
Seattle Seahawks, the Texas A and M assistant QB coach
Josh Buford, the Stanford ol coach. We heard from Steven
Bravo Brown with the Cleveland Browns. Even our Michigan man,

(07:14):
Kirk Cousins himself.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Hey guys, this is Kirk Cousins from the Falcons. Just
wanted to reach out in advance of your first game
against Oberlin. I'm thrilled that the Calvin football program is
now a real thing. My brother went to Calvin, played
baseball there. About half my graduating class in my high
school went to Calvin, so I spent a lot of
a lot of time on that campus and know what
the school means to West Michigan and to our family,

(07:39):
and so I'm thrilled that you guys are now able
to pioneer this first football season and proud of what
you guys have done to make this happen.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
But just know I'm pulling for you.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And no matter how successful this season is, no matter
how well things go, this game is going to test you.
I played football long enough to know that more than
any other sport, football will really test you. So I
just challenge you guys when you do face a tough time,
that tough times don't last, but tough people do. And
so choose to be a tough person in those moments,
in that.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Very Kirk Cousins, It's awesome.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
I've got this going up on our Instagram right now
at West Michigan, Star.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
Well, a shocking video has dropped showing Shia Lubuff, the
former Disney star, preparing to fight a group of guys
outside a pub in Edinburgh. Footage shows Shia throwing his
hat off before raising his fists, with two other men
jumping in to hold him back. That's a really violent video.

(08:51):
Shia has currently in Scotland while his wife Mia Goth
films for the upcoming Frankenstein film that two have been
out together multiple times, but we haven't really seen kind
of a violent side of this yet. The Sun is
reporting a bar worker saw him and he was nothing
but absolutely delightful. So not really sure what happened here

(09:12):
to set him off, but the video's pretty wild.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
You know, Shia, I really love him as an actor,
but his personal life has obviously had some dark times
with it, especially the last few years. But I thought
he had stopped ranking, which is the part when you
said in a fight outside of a pub. Maybe no,
it doesn't necessarily mean mean he was drinking, but it
doesn't look good.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
The third time is the charm for Lady Gaga, who
is telling Vogue magazine the one is definitely Beyonce Michael Polanski,
the singer, giving a very rare insight into her relationship,
explaining their initial meeting was an instant connection. In fact,
her mom, Cynthia, is the one who first put Michael

(09:52):
on Gaga's radar after crossing paths with him when they
were working on some philanthropic projects together, telling Lady Gaga,
I just at your future husband. She orchestrated their meeting
at Sean Parker's birthday back in twenty nineteen, where she
says they instantly hit it off and talked for more
than three hours.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Michael said a similar thing. De Vogue.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness. After
staying in contact on the phone for weeks, they went
on their first date and then you know that's going
to be intensely good because they decided to Quarantine together
through COVID. Gaga has said this is the most supportive,
loving human being she has ever met and cannot wait
to have a life together, which is really nice to hear.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
You know. The craziest part about that story is to
me that they met at quarantine. S Yeah, well that
at Sean Parker's house, the guy who gave us napster in,
one of the original investors in Facebook. That's the first
time I've heard him resference since, like the Social Networksmmittee.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Finally, Lincoln Park with a huge announcement. The band is
coming back with a new singer and they're promising fans
fresh music. They are final reuniting after the death of
their frontman Chester Bennington, announcing yesterday they're bringing singer Emily
Armstrong into the fold. Founding members are sticking around and

(11:11):
They plan a new album that will drop November fifteenth.
Eleven tracks are promised. It's titled From Zero. They gave
a little sneak peek at what Emily sounds like with
the band. Personally, I'm a total fan Big Cows, Big.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Conso this big.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
It was pretty good.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
They released a lead single, The Emptiness Machine, overnight last night.
Next week they will reunite for concerts in person. They
plan to perform in Englewood, New York, London, Germany, South Korea,
and Columbia.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
She sounds great. That new song is good too.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
I think so.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
She's getting trashed online, but I think a lot of
certain gentlemen are just not a fan of women fronting
rock groups. All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan
Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmittey, and yes
you mentioned it. We are heading into a cool, crisp
weekend here at West Michigan.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
And this is the kind of research I get behind.
Seems perfect to drop on a Friday. If you're looking
at a little hurkle durkle for the weekend and your
oversized sweatshirt, I'm sorry, little what I've used Herkle Durkle
on this show multiple times. Herkles it is the German
term for kicking back and relaxing.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Really I have I don't know if I've heard, I
feel like I would have stopped everything.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I use hercle gurkle all the time.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
If you follow me on social media at Schmidt in
the mid, I constantly show you my Hirkle Durkle outfits.
It's a lot of oversized sweatshirts and comfy sweats. Learnt
news the kind of weekend that we are going into,
and I thought it was perfect that new researches out
that says Americans need sixty six zero lazy day per

(13:00):
year in order to feel fully rested, relaxed and actually
rewire your brain.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
You break that down.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
You should be taking five lazy days a month. And
what is constituted as a lazy day. Don't look at
the phone, don't check the email. Maybe it's sports, maybe
it's binging a show you've already seen.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Comfort food and a relaxing.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Spot in the house, a chance to just fully shut
down responsibilities.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
You might have to go human block boat. I get
it now.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I understand as a mom and the mom's listening right now,
they're going, I would love you to find me.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
One lazy day a year.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
But the deal is it can actually really help your brain,
and it does make you not only better mentally and emotionally,
but when you go back to work, you're far more
on task and focused. So I thought it would be
interesting to ask people your most comfortable spot in the house.
If you're going to plan out that lazy day, if
it's a weekend, or you're gonna take the day off work,

(14:01):
where are you rotting? I use that with my our
coworker and my friend Ali all the time. Your couch
rot where are you doing that at? Because I have
this prime share. It's a recliner share in the corner
of my living room, so I can see the TV,
but I can also see all the way out the window.
So even though I'm inside under six layers in a

(14:24):
throw blanket, I still feel like I'm getting nature. There's
a little breeze that comes in.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
That's my couch rot spot.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I like that. I guess that's a good one. I see.
I feel like in the summertime I do I do
lay on our sectional on our deck all the time.
That's where I want to be outside, for sure, but
if I had to pick where I was doing, couch
rot at Schmidty. We got a new couch last year,
so we moved our big, giant one down into our
basement now, and our old TV is down there, and

(14:52):
it's got all my butt grooves like already pressed into
this thing. And when it comes to like escaping everyone
being by mysell watching whatever I want it, whatever volume
I want, that's where it's at, right there in the corner.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
We've got a movie room in the basement that we've created.
But I don't like being away from society.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Like, Okay, I gotta watch the kids.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
I've got to make sure, like you know, they come
up for snacks or my three year old finds her
way into the refrigerator.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
So I've still got to be on the main level.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Lot ruins it for me, get them out of here.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
I want to be on the main level.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
But I would love to know what your comfy spot is,
Tammy messaged me. She said that real solid corner of
an L shaped couch, and they have it positioned in
the living room that she sees the TV perfectly, but
she can also reach the switch to turn on her fireplace.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
You know, I it's underrepresented here, Smitty, but there's a
lot of dads who are just gonna be like, how
is nobody said the bathroom yet, because you know, we
don't spend forty five minutes in there.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Actually, you can't possibly be relaxed in.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
The bath so relaxed, Mitty. As a matter of fact,
relaxation is part of the process.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
I'll be honest, I'm not sure I would ever admit
to that.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Again, Mac and Schmidty in the morning on Star one
oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Times and take time spill the two sweetheart.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Gotta say, you guys are doing a really good job
of sending us some absolutely ridiculous drama that's happening in
your lives, and we love to feature it every Friday
tea time. Right now here on starmino fove point seven
it's Mac and Schmidty and you mentioned a little bit
of restaurant Durky.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
You know it's interesting.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
I feel like we I thought we'd get more messages
about things happening in the hospitality business.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Because it's just ripe for drama.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
I mean I worked in food service. I know all
about this. And we got an email that said, morning, guys.
My buddy works at a restaurant and has convinced all
his coworkers that he's vegan. That way, when he steals
burgers and chicken patties to take home for dinner, no
one suspects him. Another coworkers rhymes, another coworker has figured

(16:55):
it out and wants to out him.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
But stick it to the man.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Right, I mean, it's diabolical when somebody comes up with
a genius scheme.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
It just like if it's a.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
Mom and pop shop. Come on, those margins are thin.
But I have to assume being in West Michigan and
knowing how much we love our local restaurants, like this
is some giant corporate chain. Dude, pack your big bag
full of that chicken and head on home.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
I like my criminals like I like young children. I'll
give you extra points for creativity every single time. Schmitty,
And who's this coworker?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
That was some manager.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
I remember my manager at a restaurant that will remain unnamed,
where we couldn't eat the bread, and I was like,
you know what, I bet you don't have friends.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Literally called community bread. It should be we're part of
the community too. Schmitty, it's not just for the table.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
What do you think about this? Fire off your response
to this coworker?

Speaker 5 (17:47):
On our Facebook at West Michigan Starmooties.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
Music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
It's the Celebrity Scoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Well, we saw Taylor Swift in Kansas City last night
as the Chiefs opened up the NFL season against the Ravens.
A nice win for them, and Travis Kelcey is talking
in a new interview about fully embracing the relationship, admitting
it's just fine by him to be Taylor's arm candy.
So the tight End is talking in an interview on
CBS Mornings. He was actually on set for his new

(18:23):
Pepsi commercial with Megan the Stallion. It's based on the
iconic two thousand and four ad that had Beyonce, Britney Spears,
Pink and Enrique Iglesias talking about what a joy it's
been to have life with Taylor.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Oh, I got a bunch of them. They're all my favorite.
They're all my favorite. Literally every single one. You see
me at a concert, you'll see me singing them all,
he says.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Being the arm candy of one of the world's most
famous people doesn't bother him.

Speaker 7 (18:50):
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
It's the life I chose. I guess I have fun
with it.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
It comes with the territory of, you know, wanting to
do fun and activities like this, and signing up for
Coles sponsorships like this and endorsements.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Kind of makes it sound like a big jump start
to this Hollywood career.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
In this side of him, with.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
All these deals was because of his relationship with Taylor.
You think, by the way that one year anniversary is
coming up in just a few weeks, Mannie.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
This is the reason why I think that whole possible
coordinated relationship breakup thing actually is a possibility. I believe
I really love simply because there are millions, not even
tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars
caught up in this relationship.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Well, speaking of love, Sabrina Carpenter is not a fan
of having to discuss her private life in the press, so.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Please please stop talking about it.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
She is the new cover story for w magazine, stating
she's not down to discuss her romantic life outside of
her music. She understands why people are curious, but her
fans can listen to her chart topping songs for any
insight she plans to give out.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
No, oh, she will not kiss and tell. She's had a.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
Number of high profile relationships, of course. Her most recent
is We Think Still with Barry Keho. So here's the thing,
she said, the music videos, the lyrics that I write,
this is coming from the heart. It's the best explanation
that I have for relationships. At a time, she was

(20:23):
rumored to be with Sean Mendes. You know, there was
a little bit of shade maybe thrown from Camilla Cabeo,
but when it comes to talking about it in public,
it's just not her style.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
And she is on top of the musical universe right now.
It feels like this song right here, Espresso, probably the
song of the summer.

Speaker 5 (20:38):
Maybe, But her new one Taste is my favorite, and
the new album is so good. Finally, I had this
story earlier this week. Coach Dan Campbell making his TV
debut in an Applebe's commercial, and in a press conference
after a Lion's practice, he admitted his wife and daughter
talked him into doing this and there was more to come.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
He was right a new daddy.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Dan Applebee's commercial has officially dropped.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
There's no point in adding the right talent without the
right leadership.

Speaker 7 (21:09):
We're more than servers fill the energy coursing through your veins.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Which is why Applebey's brought in coach Dan Campbell to
take the coveted role of assistant shift manager.

Speaker 7 (21:19):
Now that I'm on this team, We're going to have
a different level of production. I move faster than not.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Bringing the level of intensity that is as inspiring as
it is feared.

Speaker 7 (21:28):
I'm all about friendly competition in the workplace.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Anything else. I'm coming from.

Speaker 7 (21:35):
Craig next month. This is my wall. We're going to
be working seven days a week. But yeah, we're about
to turn this thing up.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
I adore him in this role. And when you read
through the comments, I'm just going to point out something
I kind of like James wrote, come on, it's time
to get him to host SNL.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
I actually was literally that thought was in my head.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
A lot of people are saying that if you want
to see the commercial with your scoop.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
At West Michigan Star dot.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Com, see time for Battle of the Sexes back and
schmiddy with you and trying to get you in to
brick World. Grand Rapids next weekend over at DeVos Place.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
It's all Lego the entire weekend and with today's number
one answer, your family has scored tickets. One hundred women
surveyed Name a TV show set in high school.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
There's been a lot of shows set in high school. Schminding,
I'm gonna give a big hinto on these answers. There
are shows from the eighties, nineties, and two thousands.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Just so you know, so, Laguna Beach is the number
one answer. Six one six, four five eight, one oh
five seven.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
One hundred women surveyed Name a TV show set in
high school? Six one, six four eight, one oh five seven,
and you could be headed to Brickworld with Star.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Good morning Star. Who's this? Hey, Wendy, Wendy, where are
you coming from today? Grand Rapids? All right, Wendy got
to tell me. One hundred women were asked to name
a TV show set in a high school. What do
you think? Their top answer was, I'm.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Gonna go back to probably the eighties. I'm thinking of
Beverly Hills nine oh.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Two, one oh, Beverly Hills nine oh two, one oh?
What is it? Brenda and Brandon Walsh? Is that is that?
Who we had there. Beverly Hills nine O two one
oh is the number four most common answer. I'm sorry, Wendy,
good guest, though, all right, goodbye, Hi star. Who's this Tony? Tony?

(23:29):
I got a good guess just a moment ago. One
hundred women were asked to name a TV show setting
in high school, and I got a classic nine O
two one oh. But that was the number four most
common answer, So Tony got a shot here, sir, what
do you think it is?

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Well, I guess.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
I'm aging myself and it's kind of a joke.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
But welcome back.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Hotter, you are aging yourself a little bit. Welcome back,
welcome back, welcome back, welcome back Cotter is actually the
number three most common answer. Oh sorry, Tony, thank you,
Hi Star, Jessica, I gotten two good answers, but not
the top one yet. One hundred women were asked to
name a TV show set in a high school, and

(24:08):
so far I have heard Beverly Hills nine O two
one zero and welcome Back Cotter, which were the number
four and number three most common answers, respectively, but not
the top one. So you got a shot, Jessica, what
do you think it is? Saved by the Bell, screech
Ac Slater, Jesse Spano, Lisa Turtles, Zach Morris and my

(24:28):
all time first and forever TV crush Tiffany Ambertheesi and
is Kelly Kopowski. Same by the Bell's the top answer. Congratulations, Yeah,
you're gonna go check out brick World Grand Rapids. You
got some lego fans in the house, Oh, I definitely, Well,
they're gonna love this. Congratulations, Jessica. Happy to hook you
up and we'll do it every weekday. Battle of the

(24:50):
Sex is eight fifteen here on Star one on five
point seven. Let's talk about the thing that is going
to be distracting all the men in your life for
the next several months. Fantasy football Schmiddy.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Maybe the women too. My best friend has dominated her
last three seasons.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Honestly, I can't I agree with you because actually the
only woman in my fantasy football league also won last
season as well, and they just win destroyed everybody in it.
So I wanted to talk about fantasy football names for
a second here because this year, obviously, as Taylor Swift
continues to permeate every inch of the NFL, a lot

(25:26):
of Taylor Swift ones in there, Schmidty. So they've got
ones like we are never ever getting Dak together for
Dak Prescott Cowboys on there right now, I can make
the bench guys good for a weekend. That's pretty good, right,
That's right, Dak better. You like the Dak better. I
don't know about you, but I'm starting twenty two. That's

(25:47):
for Derrick Henry or for Rashid Shaheed on their smitty.
Those are some of the Taylor ones that are on
there this year, which I didn't see too many of
when I asked our audience this. So I'm gonna have you. Actually,
I'm I'm gonna run through the three lists from people
who put in names on our Facebook.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Pall already have my number one.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Well, I'm giving you the final. Sorry.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I was like, that's too good.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
I bet you I have it too. I bet you
I have it too. So I'll let you choose it.
But these are the top three that I am choosing
from here, and if it's not in there, you don't
get to choose this. That's all I'm laying it down,
all right. So my top three? Uh in this one,
SMIDDI I do like Sarah back that pass up.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Okay, back.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
That pass up I think is pretty fantastic. Uh, and
then I do like, how tight is your end? How
tight is your end? From Kathy? I think that's a
good one. But I know that this is probably the
one that you are picking as the first one, and
you're not wrong. It is good, Megan, shake it golf, Oh,
shake it golf.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Oh so my number one, My number one, Jennifer ye
of Kittle faith go Niners because I just wrapped Receivers
on Netflix and I think George Kittle is a gem
of a human. And Lions fans will hate me, I
know because they kicked you out of the playoffs last year.
That is that's too cute, Jennifer.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
All right, fine, since you had one completely different than
what I had in the finalist, how about we hook
them both up with Barnum and Bailey Ringling Brothers tickets
a perfect Let's do this, Jennifer, you are a winner.
We are also gonna be hooking you up, Megan. We're
always happy to get you out for some fun. And honestly,
if you've got a great team name, hit us up
on Facebook, drop yours at West Michigan star Stalin on

(27:22):
five points, Savin Mac and shmid any time to get
your feeling good for your Friday morning.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Sometime does that get a good feeling well.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
It is a really exciting month at Corwell Health and
the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital because they are celebrating the
fiftieth anniversary of the nick You the first ever to
open in West Michigan. And they're celebrating with a very
special person, Vicky Cook, who has been a nick You
nurse at Corwell for forty five of those years. Isn't

(27:56):
that incredible. It is one of the very few neonatal
centers in the country now designated to have space for
micro premies.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
It's something. When TV sat down and talked with.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Vicky about she's been so proud of what they've accomplished.
She said, even twenty eight weeks or so when I
started decades ago, we couldn't basically do much. We have
learned a ton Now twenty eight weekers are even too
old for our small baby unit. It's the twenty two
weekers that we are giving a chance at life. She
knew even from a young age she wanted to be

(28:28):
a nurse.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
I just knew in high school that I wanted to
be a nurse that you're giving them a chance at
having the best life they can.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Have, and that's what every nick you nurse believes their
passion is. I love this, especially because we happen to
know Vicky's daughter, Nicole, who has worked very closely with
us on our Helen Devas Radiothon for many years. And
you can tell where she gets it from. It's from Mom,
and she doesn't take this lightly. Being a part of
this nick you for as long as she has been,

(28:56):
She's seen it grow, she knows the passion and this
is truly the best place.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Dictro Redecchi and the other two docks that started the
nick you really formed a close team. I'm proud to
say I've been part of it. It's very fulfilling and
just just like my purpose.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
Well Cook does plan to finally retire in January. She
already has told them I'm coming back to volunteer and
I'll be making tiny holiday outfits for those nick you babies.
By the way, a birthday themed reunion for all of
the nick you graduates as they call them, is coming
up on September fourteenth, so get ready for some very

(29:36):
cute picks.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
That is very awesome fifty years. Really cool, all right,
j Betty, you know what, my son, he knows who
this gentleman is. And even worse, not only does he
play Fortnite, but he watches videos of other people playing Fortnite, Sminny,
and that includes one of the most popular streamers on
the planet, Ninja. Do you know Ninja is Nja?

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Yeah, Ninja has nineteen plus there's million followers on Twitch
and more than six and a half million followers on x.
The guy is synonymous with video game streaming. And he's
from Michigan. He's from Taylor, Michigan. And so's his big
brother Jonathan. They are together, the Blevin brothers. And yesterday, Schmiddi,
they played Fortnite at the Big House, home of the

(30:20):
Michigan Wolverines, yesterday and all for a great cause. They
were trying to raise money. As a matter of fact,
they had a specific amount one hundred and seven thousand,
six hundred and one dollars, that is one dollar for
every official seat in the Big House, the largest stadium
in the country, and all supporting the rogal Cancler Center
there at Michigan, a big research and prevention facility where

(30:45):
they try and come up with the cutting edge technologies
that people will be using to treat and prevent cancer
in the future. Well, they got to play Fortnite on
those giant screens at the Big House. They welcome some
of the players in, including starting quorderback Davis Warren, who
was there. It was really neat yesterday as these guys

(31:06):
work their way to their goal for you, I'll win
the Natty for you live on my stream.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
I'll take you Heisman.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
I'll get you there.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
I mean that would be a good look.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I'll tweet it.

Speaker 7 (31:15):
I'll tweet it.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Tag you. Thanks for being here, man, appreciate you taking
your time out of your day.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Go beat the heck out of Texas. Go you know
what I'm saying it.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
Go Blue, excited, Go Blue.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Thank sure, Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
On Saturday, Yeah, thank you for so get us.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah. That was Davis Warren, the starting quarterback for the Wolverines,
playing video games with the guys. Check it out. In
one day, they raised ninety two thousan six dollars and
if you're like, well, Mac, that's short of their goal.
Good news this is that donations are open through Sunday.
There is some matching going on as well. I'll put
the link up for you so you can check all
this out West Michigan Star dot com. Feel like good
