Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Dan Caplis and welcome to today's online podcast
edition of The Dan Caplis Show. Please be sure to
give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind,
and to subscribe, download, and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. Where can we
is truth right? And truth is at the core of
everything good, And what we have now is Mike Johnston,

(00:23):
Mayor of Denver, and Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado, are
now being exposed. And it is not pretty, but it
is a wonderful, wonderful time to be alive. Glad you're
here at five five for zero five eight two five
five the number text d A N five seven seven
three nine. As I've been talking about it, I really
believe we're at a tipping point, far beyond what people

(00:45):
are seeing right now. And I know that everybody's seen,
feeling experiencing President Trump off to a tremendous start, approval
ratings rising, and does so much positivity right that the
world has gotten better the Trump effect simply since election date,
let alone after being inaugurated off to such a fast,
very highly effective and organized start. Not perfect, but no

(01:09):
human endeavora so very very good overall, I submit to
you that the moment we're living through together right now
goes so far beyond that, because I think what we're
experiencing right now is going to be looked back on
by history as a moment of permanent change in America.
And I know that's rare, right because the political pendulum

(01:31):
swings and people come in and out office from different parties.
But I think when it comes to illegal immigration and
the breadth and the depth and the shape and the
contours of it, this is a moment of permanent change.
And I think it's going to be a moment of
permanent change because Democrats to a certain extent will have
no choice but to go along in order to survive,

(01:53):
survive in office, and they'll be hold out pockets right
and right now, Colorado is so deep blue that you
may have Denver even Colorado State wants it as a
kind of you know, Miami, La hold out pocket for
a while, but eventually it will all change. Because I
don't think there's any question and whether you believe in
God or not, whatever, there's no doubt that we are created.

(02:15):
Part of the way we're wired is to protect our
loved ones. And you know, also ourselves, but protect our
loved ones. And then it extends beyond that a bit
to protecting community, et cetera. And so, now that Americans
have a taste of actually, in a very tangible, concrete way,
quickly being able to be safer, who's going to want

(02:37):
to go back? Other than these wing nut jobs like
Paulus and Johnston, et cetera, who are just so devoted
to the far left craziness because that's where the big
money's from and the power is in democratic politics right now.
But other than those wing nut types, who's going to
want to go back to a more dangerous day. And
now that America has had a taste of this little

(02:59):
bit taste of sanity and sanity very quickly making our
community safer doesn't mean all the danger goes away, but
it means some of it just did. Americans aren't going
to want to go back, They're going to want to
expand that. And so I do believe it's a permanent change.
It's going to be a permanent, very beneficial change for America.
Now we'll get into some of the sound today. I
know that all polls show a majority of Americans want

(03:22):
to deport everybody who is here illegally, and President Trump,
I think the administration saying that isn't going to happen,
but certainly right now, starting with those who have committed
other crimes, which, by the way, you know, the Democrats
in Colorado and nationally have tried to protect those people
here illegally, who have committed other crimes, sitting there in

(03:44):
police custody, sitting there in our prisons, whatever. They've tried
to protect them from deportation. Think about the madness in
that how any mind can ever go to that point.
But it became absolute altar of worship within the Democratic
Party in Colorado and nationally is you've got somebody in
jail and they're here illegal, and they've committed other crimes.
Oh no, our highest priority, after killing babies before birth,

(04:07):
our highest priority is protecting those people committed convicted of
other crimes from deportation. That's obvious madness. And so proof
that this is a permanent change comes in part right
here in Colorado, where you have Governor Polus who is
the founding father of the sanctuary state in Colorado. He

(04:28):
signed the bills. He signed eleven twenty four. He signed
the bills. He's the founding father. The fact that he
is now scrambling around trying to convince anybody who will
believe him, which is nobody that oh no, he's been
in favor of deporting these criminal illegals all the time,
is just proof it's a permanent change. Because he wants
to be president. Yeah, and I want to be quarterback

(04:50):
for the Broncos. Ryan's going to play center field for
the Rockies. Right, we're all entitled or fantasies. He wants
to be president and he sees this is a permanent change.
Mike Johnston Denver, just a short time ago, what was
bragging about how he was going to send Denver police
up to the county line and stop federal law enforcement
from enforcing federal law. You know, he's whimpering like a

(05:12):
little puppy right now, trying to find somewhere to hide.
But fortunately Congress isn't going to let him hide that easily.
So this is fun, isn't it. Denver Now Mike Johnston
being investigated for being a sanctuary city. And guess what
when you have laws, when you have federal laws, is
cities don't get to pick and choose whether they're going
to follow that federal law and they certainly know gel

(05:34):
to say, yeah, we're going to send our cops out
to the county line to stop federal law enforcement, so lawless.
Mike Johnston now is going to have to appear before Congress.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
The demand from a powerful US representative that Denvers mayor
testify for Congressional investigation into sanctuary cities.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
The chair of the House Oversight Committee says that he
wants answers from the leaders of four major cities about
immigration policies and what he calls.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
A failure to protect citizens.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Denver Mayor Mike Johnson is already firing back tonight box.
Everyone's Nate Belle getting in reaction from Mayor Johnston, calederal
Republicans and the committee and our political analysts, and I
he's joining us live in Denver.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Nate, Yeah, guys.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
That call was put out this afternoon by House Oversight
Committee Chairman James Comer. He's a Republican congressman from Kentucky.
He says that the mayors of Denver, New York, Boston,
and Chicago all are being called to testify as part
of an investigation in the sanctuary city saying they're not
complying with federal order, but Colorado Democrats disagree.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
In a letter addressed to Mayor Johnston shared to social
media Monday afternoon, Denver's called a sanctuary jurisdiction alongside three
other cities that Comer says stand out in abject failure
to comply with federal law, going on to say citizens
of all four cities have suffered due to sanctuary policies.
Political analysts and Democratic strategists Andy Boyon disagrees, saying the

(06:57):
city has cooperated since day one of the Trump and administration.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
You know the garbage that's to follow that, because we're
hearing it now from Polis, etc. We play some really
fun sound you know from Polis with Kyle Clark, and
the talking points they all have right now is, oh no,
we've been cooperating with the Feds all along. All we said.
All we said was that we weren't going to have
Colorado's do the Fed's job. So that's what some consultant

(07:24):
has come up with, right as the ruse, the dodge,
the distraction. Oh No, all we said is is we're
not going to have Colorado doing the Fed's job, you know, which,
of course is utter nonsense. The founding father of sanctuary state.
Polis he signed the bill House Bill eleven twenty four.
He signed the bill that said we're not going to
honor ICE detainers. And it was at that moment that

(07:47):
Polis and every other Democrat in Colorado sided clearly with
criminal illegal immigrants, people here illegally, who committed other crimes,
and they're now in police custody and ICE knows they're there.
I sends over a detainer, I sends over a notice
saying please hold them so we can get them. And
it was Jared Poulis who proudly stood up and said,

(08:08):
we're not doing that anymore. So what happens then all
sorts of criminals who would have then ended up in
ICE custody and likely been deported, are just set free.
So that's what Jared Police did, knowingly, deliberately intentionally thwarting ICE.
And remember it's Jared Polis and Ryan I can't believe
this doesn't get talked about more often. It is Jared

(08:29):
Polis who refused, refused to cast a vote against defunding ICE.
Remember when they talked about abolishing ICE, there was a vote.
Polus had a choice. He could vote to keep ICE.
He could vote to abolish ICE. He refused to cast
a vote to keep ICE in existence. Instead, just this profile, encourage.

(08:54):
That's the statue we need out a dia instead of
old math, right, Ryan, we need a statue of Jared Polis.
In that monumental moment when the bill is being voted
on should ICE be abolished? Jared Polish courageously stands up,
puffs out his chest, and says, present present, Madam speaker.

(09:16):
Oh no, if it was a madam speaker, he would
have gone off on the worst these single worst sexist
rant in the history of the floor. There's never been
a more sexist moment on the floor of the US Congress.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
And you're saying, we're addressing them, and that's what you're
upset about, amount of speaker. I want you amount of
speaker to address me the reason that they are here.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
And it goes on from there. It truly was. Nobody
can point to any moment in the history of Congress
where there has been more blatant sexism on the floor
of the House than Polis dressing down and mocking and
yelling at and interrupting a woman serving a speaker of
the House. Oh and what was it that triggered him
so much that he would engage in something that would

(09:58):
have had virtually any other congress person fired, never to
be elected again. Oh yeah, he was standing up and
he was fighting for people here illegally. So he is
the father of sanctuary State. And the fact now he's
trying to deceive and deny that just confirms it's here
for good. This change, now, this American change against illegal immigration,

(10:21):
is here to stay. It is a seismic shift in
the political landscape. It's a seismic shift in society. Where
do you think it'll end? And when we come back,
I'll tie you into some sound from you know, President
Trump's new Press secretary and she is awesome. This is
going to be fun. We're going from one of the
worst ever to very clearly one of the best ever.

(10:42):
You're on the Dan Capla Show.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
And now back to the Dan Kaplass Show podcast.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
It was the greatest week, the opening week in presidential history,
and I think, you know.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Couldn't be a hell of a lot better. Even CNA
is saying this guy is amazing.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
I couldn't believe it. I said, did CNN really say that?
Because nobody watches so nobody was able to confirm it,
but it was pretty amazing.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Oh that camera just went off. Is going to be
a great four years. But yeah, in a Costa out,
I mean, there are so many concrete signs that this
country is turning in the right direction. Right in a
cost He's just symbolic. And there are so many more
out there in the media right now who are simply activists.
They're simply activists for the left, deceptively pretending to be journalists.

(11:35):
And I know, again it's another thing that America has
sort of accepted as the new normal. But just like
this sea change, when it comes to illegal immigration and
particularly letting people stay or have committed other times, I mean,
that's madness, it's national suicide, right. I think that we
are seeing, we are seeing a lasting, forever change in America,
and I think you're going to see it with media

(11:57):
as well, not as dramatically because you don't have the mechanism,
you don't have the mechanism of ratings take longer, and
then you start to weed out the Acostas of the
world and the others who are clearly just leftist operatives.
And I think we can all point to the obvious
ones here in Colorado, right, and again, they may hang
on here in Colorado because you're always going to have
some deep blue pockets, so they might get a little

(12:19):
less blue, but they'll still be in control until they aren't.
But nationally, you're going to see those people start to
get weeded out because why they're bad for business because
America isn't there and fewer and fewer people are there
with this radical left that controls the Democratic Party. So
lots of good fun stuff to watch. Eight five Z

(12:39):
five A two five to five the number text d
A N five seven seven three nine. I cannot wait
personally for that house hearing where Mike Johnston has to testify,
because we know that he will dodge, and he will
weave and he won't answer direct questions and all of that.
But that's going to be part of the fun of it,
you know, the people who just expect the witness to

(12:59):
break down on this and crying. That's that's almost only
on TV. I've had it happen a few times in
court and it has been amazing and wonderful. But normally
the way I went and cross examination is is the
witness lives and the witness won't concede obvious facts. That's
often far better for me and for my client than

(13:20):
if the witness just admitted what they should admit, Because
guess what, when you're sitting there as a juror and
you are a juror, when you're a voter, and you're
sitting there as a juror, and you're taking your time
and you're devoting your effort all this, and the witness
won't even give you the respect of an honest answer.
You're more angry at that witness than you would be
if they just admitted the wrongdoing.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
And that's what leads me to one of your favorite quotes.
Totvote them, Dan, thank you. If you knew where you
were going to die, you wouldn't go there. It's Peter
Boyles as Peter Boyle. I always give him credit and
he deserves it because that's hilarious. And I have a
Brandon Johnson quote for you. He's another one that's been
summoned one of the four mayors Boston, New York, Chicago, Denver.
We're so proud. Yeah, but Mike Johnston. And they're in

(14:01):
a bit of a predicament here because they're running far
and fast from the term sanctuary city. So if they
were really proud of those policies and they were working well,
you would think that Mayor Johnson would sprint to the
Capitol and testify. But do you think he'll even show up.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Well, that'll be kind of fun to watch. I think
he's going to be under subpoena, right, I mean, I'd
have to follow up on that. But but the fun
thing is we all know sitting here right now, it's
like I kept saying before the election, people aren't going
to buy it. So it's it's even more fun to
see Johnston, for example, get up there and dodge and
weave and look so deceptive because nobody's buying his blank, right,

(14:41):
nobody's buying that blank And so it's it's it's more
fun to watch him be fully exposed through his deceptiveness.
And and that's that's what we're going to see now.
He'll never and you can bet this will be front
and center. I wish somebody would call me up and
ask me to help draft the cross examination of John's
and because this is kind of low hanging fruit. Starting point, right.

Speaker 9 (15:04):
Before we could even turn our camera on Denver Mayor
Mike Johnson was already running away from reporters, which Right
asking him about an interview day talking about how the
city would respond to Presidents elect Donald Trump's mass deportation plan.
The mayor told Denver Right the city would resist efforts
by federal officials to deport immigrants more than us having

(15:25):
dpds stationed at the county line to keep them out.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
You would have fifty thousand.

Speaker 9 (15:30):
Denver rights there, Johnston said, comparing it to a Tanneman
Square moment with the rose and gun.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
And again, think about this madness. This is all to
protect people here illegally who have committed other crimes, right.
I mean, it's bad enough. If you're going to say, oh,
we're going to stand up, we're going to use our cops,
we're going to rally the people to stop federal law
enforcement from enforcing federal law. That's bad enough. I'm pretty
sure that's illegal. I mean, don't take that as a

(15:58):
legal conclusion. But but let's say the Feds were saying, Okay,
we're going to come in and we're going to enforce
federal law, and everybody in this country illegally right now
is committed a crime, and we're going to enforce that law,
and we're going to pick them up and we're going
to pursue the law. At that point, it would be
blatantly illegal for Johnston to employ the plan he just
announced in that story, since says backed off, but does

(16:21):
anybody really believe he's truly backed off? That would be legal.
But when he says we're going to stand up and
we're going to fight the Feds to stop them, stop
them from taking people here illegally have committed other crimes,
what does that tell you? What that tells you is
his priority now, which means it's a priority of the
big money and power brokers on the left, is people

(16:43):
here illegally have committed other crimes. They are a much much,
much higher priority than law abiding US and Colorado citizens.
There's no gray area here. So yeah, I think we
can be pretty sure the questioning of Mike Johnston in
Congress is going to start with that, but it will
not end with that. Right, So I cannot wait, And

(17:05):
just another way right that the election of President Trump,
I think is going to go down as a worldwide
tipping point. Now there's so much sound, you're really going
to enjoy it. Today, it's totally fresh, it's new, you've
never heard it before, and that is we're going to
come back to Caroline Lovitt and she is the new
Press Secretary, as you know. But it's so amazing whenever
this happens, and it's happening on kind of a grand

(17:28):
scale right now, where you go from about the worst
to about the best. And we obviously had about the
worst press secretary you could have in KGP and now
and hey, listen, what have I seen. I've seen five
or ten minutes of this new press secretary. But you
know what when you see it right, and you have
to think the first day or two is probably toughest

(17:49):
in that job. But the way she just came out
today smoking and nailed it, and the poise and the
intelligence and the quickness, it's a thing to bell. And
so yeah, hitting on all cylinders. Not perfect, no human
endeavor is, but compared to other presidencies, just hitting on
all cylinders. So we'll come back, and one thing we

(18:10):
want to do during the show is as we talk
about Jared Polis, who as a matter of fact, is
the founding father of the Sanctuary State in Colorado, come
back and just break down some of the specifics of
what he did at Sward Ice and to make you
put you and your family and everybody in Colorado in
significantly more danger each and every day. Jared Polis did that,

(18:33):
We need some of those stickers, Ryan, you know, the
kind you used to put on the gas pumps. Jared
Polis did that here on the Dan Caplas Show.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Well, kind of the best of times right now. Listen,
we all know we're all adults. It's a human endeavor, right,
It's never going to be a straight line off until
hopefully you die, maybe a stop in purgatory, but hopefully
just a trend line straight up. But right now, yeah,
I can't imagine a faster start for any presidency than
President Trump has had. And we're talking about today's installments.

(19:13):
As we go through that, it's never going to be perfect.
They're going to be setbacks, they're going to be up
and downs. But got to love the way it started.
So the biggest thing to me is what's going to
be permanent and the stuff that's not going to be permanent, Hey,
that's still real good because he had to stop the
bad stuff. Right, we're going off a cliff, but the
stuff that is going to be permanent. And I think
America now just just pivoting on illegal immigration, no longer

(19:36):
going to tolerate that, the wide open borders people here
illegally committing other crimes. And I think America is going
to push beyond that on illegal immigration. I think that's
going to be permanent. So eight five to five for
zero five A two five five D and five seven
seven three nine. And then those who resist, unless they're
in deep, deep blue areas, they're going to get voted

(19:56):
out of office. And even in deep blue Colorado, you've
got Youred Polus bending the knee already, right. The father,
he is the founding father of sanctuary state in Colorado.
I looked at it today, Ryan, and I actually went
and I went back to the original bill HB eleven
twenty four. I went back to that twenty nineteen bill,
and I thought, wait a second, Jared Polis is acting
like Tom Homan. So did he really sign that bill?

(20:18):
And I've got it right here. I copied it, I
printed it. Not only did he sign it, he signed
it with this great, big flourish, this bill that immediately
endangered your family and your family's in more danger each
and every day because of that bill Polis signed, which
all of a sudden said illegal. You know, Sheriff's law
enforcement Colorado, you can no longer honor ICE detainers. And

(20:40):
before I sauld say, hey, we got a dangerous cat there.
He's sitting in the Denver County jail. We want you
to hold onto him so we can grab him after
his time's up, furle, so we can grab him and
we can get him out of the country. And then
Jared Polus, he's the one who signed it. If he
doesn't sign it, it doesn't become law. He's the one who said, nope, Ice,
we're going to swe And by the way, he's the

(21:01):
guy who refused to vote to keep ice in existence.
When the vote came up to abolish ice, he very
courageously voted present right. He couldn't even bring himself to
vote to keep ice in existence. And now he's acting
like Tom Homan. But the point there, beyond the comedy,
is that, yeah, even Polis is bending the knee. He
sees that this is likely a permanent change in America.

(21:24):
Eight five five for zero five two five to five,
the number which brings us to this questioning from Kyle
Clark of Governor Polis, and it's it's kind of a
fun moment because everybody involved knows that Polis is deceiving. Right,
everybody involved knows he's fibbing. Police must know that, but
he has to go through the exercise. Colorado was leading.

Speaker 10 (21:47):
Democrats from the mayor of Denver to the governor have
said that they support the deportation of violent criminals, but
they do not back mass deportations of people for the
civil offense of being in the country without authorization. Those
Democrats are under sure from Republicans to.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Repeal the state laws that keep local law. But wait
a second. If they back the deportation of violent criminals,
why did they pass and then sign this law that
says they won't honor ice detainers anymore? How does that.

Speaker 10 (22:14):
Work enforcement from doing immigration enforcement for the Feds. Colorado
is one of eleven states with some level of.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Limits on immigration enforcement. Think about that, eleven states. How
goofy do you have to be? How wing nut do
you have to be to be one of eleven states? Right,
so you got forty nine other states, so even a
bunch of liberal states, they wait a second, and no,
we're not going to prioritize people are illegally, you commit

(22:41):
other crimes and are sitting in our jails. They've already
found a way into our jails. How hard is it
to do that. We're not going to prioritize the protection
of them, which we know is going to get our
own people rape murdered and otherwise abused. In fact, right
after Paul has signed that bill eleven twenty four, Ice
came out very unused. Ice came out publicly and said

(23:02):
this will be a disaster for Colorado, and then the
dead bodies started stacking up.

Speaker 10 (23:07):
Well, Governor Jared Poulos is adamant that this is not
a sanctuary state. We'll listen to what he told our
sister station Cardillo and the Spranks.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Why do they call it sister station? Ryan? You know
all these things. If I'm ever in a trivia contest,
I want you why isn't brother station uncle station, mother's stay?
Why is it sister station? And I like it? I'm
just curious.

Speaker 8 (23:29):
I think it's as simple as the alliteration of its
sister station. It kind of flows better than the brothers station.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
See that is a great answer. It might even be correct.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Vrative is false that Colorado's any way, shape or form
of sanctuary state.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
We are not. How can he say that when he
signed the bill, I've got it right here. That did
away with the status quo that forty one other states,
by the way, live by right now, the opposite of
what Polos is doing. If ICE says, hey, you got
a dangerous ombre, we want to or i'm bres, is
it on'm bress? If it's though, hold them, hold them,
we want to come and take them. We want them

(24:04):
out of the country. Police has made that illegal. How
is that not creating a sanctuary state?

Speaker 10 (24:10):
There is no legal definition of sanctuary state, but police
is absolutely unequivocal. Rejection of any kind of sanctuary jurisdiction.
Label challenges both plain English and common sense because Colorado
does offer a level of protection to people who are
here without legal authorization, protection that most states do not offer,
even if Colorado does cooperate with ICE on criminal cases.

(24:32):
So I want to ask the governor about that today.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
No, no, no, kle is doing well there for about
a sentence. What do you mean even if they cooperate
with them on criminal cases, You're talking about people they
are sitting in our jails. Okay, they're times up, they've
served their sentence, and I says, okay, we want to
get them out of the country. Now. Police signed a bill.

(24:54):
All the Democrats lined up behind a bill that prevents
law enforcement from doing that. It ended a practice a
practice forty one other states have, which is only common
sense in survival. You've got somebody in jail, they've done
something dangerous, they're times up. You give ICE a chance
to get them. How is that anything other than raw

(25:16):
sanctuary And how in the world can you characterize that
as cooperating with the Feds on criminals.

Speaker 10 (25:22):
It's the opposite, misleading to say not in any way,
shape or form.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
As as a sanctuary state.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
We cooperate fully with our federal partners in all criminal matters,
and we're we're closely.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
With you know, the distinction he's trying to draw, and
he's so deceptive, but the people aren't buying it. The
distinction he's trying to draw is, oh, ICE detainers are
civil right, They're characterized as civil law. So what he's
saying is, oh, yeah, we crow up in criminal matter.
So if you go out and you get a warrant
from a judge, that will honor that warrant. But we
all know, and the rest of the nation knows, which

(25:56):
is why forty one states do it the opposite of Colorado.
That can't happen in our criminal process. It's physically impossible
to get all those warrants issued and to get them
issued in time to stop people from leaving the jails.
That's why for years and years it had worked very well,
not perfect for Colorado and America to have ICE do
what it does in most other states. Puts a detainer

(26:19):
in hold them for us, they get them and they
get them out. But police undermined all that. So he's
by the way, he cannot deny that he ended. He prohibited.
Underline that word prohibited the cooperation of Colorado law enforcement
with the Feds on criminal illegals. He prohibited it. So

(26:41):
don't fall for that trick with the word, oh, we
cooperate with them on criminal matters, they don't cooperate with
them on criminals, because it's undeniable. Those people sitting in
those cells, they're criminals and police is actively protecting them.
The I with the EA with.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
ICE always have and we always plan to because it's
part of what we need to do. To make Colorado safer.
That being sad, we also have laws in place.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Nobody's buying this safer thing, right. But here's what I
want you to ponder. How much of this, how much
of Polus's willingness to end the cooperation with ICE on criminals,
on people in jail, how much of that goes back
to the total lack of respect for the dignity and

(27:29):
value of innocent human life. You know, I think this
is all part of a much bigger fabric here, because
if you have respect just your worldview, if you believe
that individual human life is valuable and it's precious, not
just your own and your families, but everybody's has that
inherent dignity and worse, then you could never do what

(27:51):
Polis did in signing that bill, because you knew the
moment you signed it, innocent people were going to get killed.
Innocent people were going to get raped, Innocent people were
going to get violently assaulted by people who had been
in your jails, who ICE wanted, and you stopped them
from getting He knew that, he had to know that

(28:12):
when he signed the bill. My only point is it
comes back to I think just the left's worldview part
of it is their secular orientation, but just the left's
worldview that individual human life, unless it's their own or
their cronies, just doesn't have value. Welcome back to more
of that dissection. But Paulus is being exposed right now,

(28:33):
and Johnson's about to be exposed before Congress. This is
a very important moment for Colorado. Will it be enough
to flip this day? Will it be enough to get
Republicans elected statewide? You tell me you're on the Dan
Kapla Show.

Speaker 6 (28:53):
And now back to the Dan Kapla Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
The new Press Secretary debuted at the White House today
in terms of Oppress briefing and just knocked it out
of the park. That ball, that ball's still going. That
ball is going to need a flight attendant.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Can you just tell us the numbers how many have
a criminal record versus those who are just in the
country illegally.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
All of them because they illegally broke our nation's laws,
and therefore they are criminals as far as this administration goes.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
I know the last administration didn't see it that way.
So it's a big culture shift in our nation to
view someone who breaks our immigration laws as a criminal.
But that's exactly what they are. And polling across all
of the major left leaning polls right now, clear majority
of Americans believe that everybody here illegally should be deported.
Trump administration has already said they're not going to do that,

(29:39):
but tremendous support right now for what they are doing
something Jared Polis, Mike Johnston, other Colorado Democrats have worked
very hard to prevent. They've worked very very hard to
prevent criminal illegals from being deported in ways that we've
talked about in the show. The fact they're now trying
to deny it and claim they support it just proves
this is a permanent chair. America is not going to

(30:01):
be willing to go back because America sees communities all
over America, including Colorado. See they're safer today than they
were a week ago because Donald Trump was elected president.
Just with the deportations of criminal actors they've already seen,
such as the TDA round up in Adams County, Noco.
Dan texted, sorry, it's too long, Dan. I'll try to

(30:22):
break it down later. Dan. Unless mail in ballots are stopped,
Republicans will not win. Sorry, bud Well, I hope you're wrong,
because Colorado is not going to move away from mass
mail in balloting, so we're going to have to figure
out how to win with that. Dan Poulis and Johnston
have started their own doge only there's this Department of
Government exclusivity, So thank you for that that actually goes

(30:46):
to Dan. Can you explain the hold on grants and
Loan's thing? I heard humor, pretty sure he was lying,
not sure what's going on. Thank you, Texter, because right
now you're probably seeing all these headlines, reading all these
stories that Trump administration has froz potentially trillions in federal
spending and a court there'll be multiple courts now it
appears blocking at least certain parts of that. So let

(31:09):
me give you my quick take on what I think
is going on here, and it leads to and this
is eyeglazing stuff, but it leads to what I think
is going to be a fascinating US Supreme Court showdown
over presidential power. And what it comes down to is
who has the power, Who has the power to limit spending,

(31:29):
Who has the power to spend because you know, Congress
it has that constitutionally authorized power power the purse. But
then the issue is whether a president then has the
power to spend less than what has been appropriated. The
Trump administration says, yes, we have the power to spend

(31:51):
less than what has been appropriated if we can accomplish
the same thing for less. So that ties into this
doze effort, and the legal argum, and I expect for
the Trump team is going to be that in part
in part is going to be that appropriations are not lost,
appropriations are directives, and so it's and I know, right

(32:12):
eye glazing kind of stuff. But obviously the stakes are enormous,
so this should probably rocket docket to the US Supreme Court,
just like the issue of birthright citizenship, I expect will
move through the process more quickly than usual get to
the Supreme Court, and I expect the Supreme Court will
strike down this current case law declaring that there's birthright

(32:36):
citizenship in the US. I think it's very clear that
the people who drafted the fourteenth Amendment never intended that
for folks here illegally, and they intended it for the
children of slaves. So anyway, that's what I think is
going on there. So expect a lot of court action
on that. Obviously stakes high you're talking many, many, many
hundreds of billions, if not trillions. Eerie, Mike, you're on

(32:59):
the dan kapla. Shall we missed you? My friend, Dan.

Speaker 11 (33:04):
I tried to get in last night, it was too late.
I wanted to defend you. I thought you were being
unjustly and unfairly peppered by your callers and all this well,
all just because you called jd Vance. I think I
got this right. A vicious, flanderous liar. I think with
the words you used.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Yeah, check out, But I did I did say. I
did say he lied about one thing in particular, while
praising him on many other fronts and saying that hey,
I would still be willing to vote him for president.
But he did lie about one thing very important.

Speaker 11 (33:39):
Yes, And I just so this this call is in
one hundred percent altruistic.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Guy.

Speaker 11 (33:45):
I wanted to remind you of a bet that you
made with me back in October, and uh, you know,
Ryan never passed along the information, evidently because you haven't
paid up yet. So when I called him a liar
and you pushed back on me, and anyway, I just I.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Worn every day with you. What were you talking about?
I hope you're not driving if you're consuming, what what
are you talking about?

Speaker 11 (34:08):
So so you know, we remember when Trump talked about
eating the dog and the cat.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Oh do we have that? Sound right?

Speaker 11 (34:14):
And Jady Vance was the one who started that right,
and then jd Vance said that he had created that story.
You pushed back on me and said that's not sure.
I'm not true the YouTube day, but you guys know no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no, no, you're flat wrong.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
You're telling me that. Jd Vance came out and said,
oh I just made that up. No, J J Devance,
I remember what Ja de Vance said. Jd Vance said
that he had had these reports from his constituents and
he was investigating.

Speaker 11 (34:43):
And then he created the story. I've got that. Okay.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
You got to understand something, my friend. When you texted
to us, we can't open it on these systems because
I heard it's not stupid. They're not going to let
the system get corrupted.

Speaker 11 (34:57):
No, no, I got your email address, you got mine.
Secretary gave me his email address, Ryan's email address.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
I sent it and you okay, well listen, my friend,
if I ignored it, those were good instincts, but please
send it again. If you've got my email address. I
have my email open right in front of me, so
this is a good test. Send it right now. I
will stare at it, Mike, I will I can multitask.
I'll talk into the mic while I stare at my email.
Email it to me right now. Jad Vance did not
say he had made that story up, but it's interesting

(35:27):
and instructive. Ryan. Isn't it that the left now has
to live in the past because they know their future
is gone. I mean, there'll be some deep blue bastions
where they kind of desperately hang on. But if it is,
some things America is not turning back on. America has
had a taste of sanity and increased safety. We don't
