Gaza has long been recognised as one of the most educated and highly literate societies in the region, despite decades of Israeli occupation, blockade, repeated military assaults, and displacement. Palestinians, including those in Gaza, have often been described as among the world’s most highly educated refugee populations.
In this episode of Falasteeniya, Palestine Deep Dive’s Hala Hanina is joined by Dr Abdel Razzaq Takriti, Associate Professor of History and Arab-American Educational Foundation Chair in Arab Studies at Rice University, to examine the systematic destruction of Gaza’s education system.
