easier, new technology, and MichaelGarfield has something you might want. Michael
Garfield is your high tech Texan, three decades helping you make magic with your

(00:32):

(00:54):
And I don't easy does it?You don't need a flawed Okay,
if you don't want to listen, listen, No you should listen, you
really. Instead of a two hour, luscious full show of everything you needed,
all about anything that I care aboutconsumer products at AL, we are
doing one hour and fifteen minutes.Because it's college basketball season, people,

(01:17):
we right here on KPRC. Shouldyou be listening live on a Saturday,
the eleventh of November, we willbe broadcasting at University of Houston basketball game.
Will the Koug's go all the wayto the Final four? Oh?
They just missed it last year.Man, that suck. That would have
been awesome. So we're gonna talkas fast as we can because we're gonna

(01:41):
pack two hours of content into onehour and fifteen minutes. So here you
go. I have Michael Barfelow phonenumber seven one three two one two five
nine five. Oh anything you need, Okay, I'll slow it down.
I already talked fast enough. That'sfine. Also a special edition because today
being eleven eleven, as we plausiblydo the show live, plausibly live,
Happy Veterans Day for all you veteransout there, including my father, and

(02:06):
I'm just going to take an edgeof mccata guess that my father is probably
hopping from restaurants restaurant using his veteranmilitary ID card to get if that half
price free tacos, snacks, foods, or appetizers, and you know what,
as he and all of you veteransrightly should, so Happy Veterans Day,

(02:27):
Thank you for your service to ourcountry. With that, we do
kick off the show over the nexthour and twelve minutes. Right now,
we're going to talk about Black Friday. Black Friday normally and usually historically has
started the Friday right after Thanksgiving BlackFriday sales if they haven't already started their
coming soon, I've got some andI'm using air quotes your early Black Friday

(02:50):
deals because some of them have alreadystarted. I can tell you where to
get them and also some good pricesAmazon, Walmart, Target and others.
This is what I do. Iam your consumer product guy, not just
technology products, but cars, trucks, liquor, travel, clothing, fashion,
hairstyles. I'm pretty much your guyfor all those things. I'm also

(03:14):
going to tell you how to sharea Netflix accounts if you didn't know Netflix.
Earlier this year in the US,they started really clamping down on Netflix
sharing. If you really can't shareyour Netflix password if you don't live in
the same household, and they stoppedit, and their last quarter of subscriber

(03:34):
base shut up. Just astronomically. They had a record, you know,
at third quarter in terms of revenuebecause people now had to start buying their
own Netflix account. They couldn't usetheir ex wives. Hello, but I
will tell you how you can share, and this is legal case my boss
is listening. I will tell youhow you can share a Netflix account outside
of your home. Yes, thereis a little price involved, but I

(03:55):
will tell you about that also somebest budget laptops. Boddy emailed me that
earlier this week, and uh,any of your questions and we will do
that. You do have to getit in relatively quick, because Calum,
are you leaving it in an hour? Fifteen minutes? Okay? He's got
to hear run the University of Houstongame. Should you be listening here during
the initial morning afternoon run of thisshow because we do do a repeat broadcast

(04:23):
because people just apparently I keep themawake from eleven at night to one in
the morning. I'm at seven onethree, two, one, two,
five nine five. Oh, hopefullyyou did set your clocks back? Did
you get in did you get anextra hour sleep? It's how many I

(04:43):
talked about this last week too.Did you have to manually set any of
your clocks back? Over under thenumber of clocks you had to set manually
back? I'm going to go twoand a half now. I always talk
about it. If you have anold alarm clock or an older car that
doesn't automatically set up itself, youhave to physically set it back. There's
another thing I forget that you alsopretty much have to either spring for it

(05:08):
or set back manually. It's yourwatches, and I don't have a ton
of watches. I've got maybe, well, okay, how about this thing,
your non electronic watches. If yougot your Samsung Watch, you've got
your Apple Watch, and they dosynchronize to your phone, those will automatically
set. But if you've got areal watch, like a Rolex or something

(05:30):
you bought at US Coins and JewelryKatie Freeway at VOSS, You're probably gonna
have to set it yourself. AndI've got maybe I've got I do have
one Rolex from US Coins and Joy, but I got maybe about four or
five other watches, not too expensive, old, you know, just kind
of colorful and whatever. But Ihave to reset them, and I forgot
about that. Come I think itwas Wednesday earlier this week, and I

(05:51):
was putting a watch on. I'mlike, oh, am I late?
Why am I late? Oh mygoodness, Oh I forgot to set the
dang thing. So I had toset my watches back too. So please
do remember to if you haven't doneit right now, you've had a really
you've probably fired this past week,or you really probably ticked off a lot
of people by being somewhere an hourlate. So that was just a reminder

(06:14):
to set your wife's back. Whatdid we start over here? Here's what
we're gonna start. I only gotabout a minute a half of this thing.
I'll go over the Black Friday thingswhen we come back. I'm gonna
give you Black Friday some really goodearly deals that I found right now.
Don't tell your friends, so we'lllet you get these things first, Amazon,
Walmart, Targeted and others. Peopledo ask me where that term black
Friday came from, and it's nota woke thing. It's not. No,

(06:36):
no, no, it's not BlackFriday. Term has been around for
quite a while, and it's ithas to deal with the the accountants and
CPA's way back in the day wherethey use black and red ink. Black
means you're in the prophet, Redmeans you're in the negative. Golf does
the same thing that they use blacknumbers and red numbers if you're above par
and below par A long time ago. Well, when retailers they use the

(07:00):
term black Friday because Black Friday wasthe day there is the day the day
after Thanksgiving, and at that pointthat is when gently retailers would start making
profits. Yes, it took themabout eleven and a half months, but
there would be so many sales afterThanksgiving. Right after Thanksgiving, the term
black Friday finally were in the black. And that's where the term black Friday

(07:24):
came. And then the National RetailerAssociation, they thought they were getting cute.
Probably about twenty years ago, theycame up with cyber Monday. Well,
why cyber Monday, Well, cyberMonday. They found out that the
Monday after Thanksgiving. And this goesback about twenty probably about twenty years ago,
when dial up internet access was stillaround. At home, we all,

(07:45):
you know, we had AOL accountsand it was just we had really
slow internet connection. But our offices, when we actually worked from an office,
we had fast internet connections. Andwhat they did is the retailers,
online retailers, whatever they were backthen, and there wasn't a lot,
it's see a big spike in onlinesales that Monday because people would shop online

(08:05):
when they were on a high speedinternet connection. Hence cyber Monday. Nowadays,
cyber Monday is it's there's a lotof sales. But again, if
you generally wait something around Bobby Decembertwelve, thirteenth or fourteenth. That's generally
the biggest online holiday shopping point iswhatever you're shopping for. I do have
some early deals. If you keepit right over here to the high tech
text and show a brief, briefedition of the HTT show, I'm going

(08:30):
to be be killing him when youcome back. Michael Werflew is my name?
Stay by hope you're right seven twoone two five nine five. That
number is embedded in my mind.If you're a longtime listener, it probably
is with you also of twenty twentytwo years right now, man, the

(08:52):
longest running show on kate PRC nineto fifty AM in the southeast Texas area.
Uh, it's a I'm proud todo it. And that number hadn't
changed. Didn't have an email whenI started. There was no email back
then. We had an address whereI used to get hate mail. It
was on uh level for all uUstonians love it. Boulevard our we had

(09:13):
three our with three was it twoor three? And actually was it kal
oil Rock one O one KPRC ninefifty and was it seven forty k thr
H also sister station we were onlove It Boulevard in Montrose, Love It
Boulevard in Montrose every Saturday morning.I had to drive all the way.
Oh, because this is before wecould do our shows remotely. Oh my

(09:35):
goodness. Oh times were tough backthen. Had to walk up hill in
the snow both ways. It wasjust crap all like that. Uh.
The point is now we have anemail and we have the phone number which
is not changed seven one three twoone two five nine five. Oh,
if you feel like calling in,ask him some questions, including some Black
Friday deals that I'm about to giveyou. I just actually kind of threw

(09:58):
in a little sneaky sponsor ad,and that was for US Coins and Jewelry.
If you had to manually set someof your watches back last week for
daylight saving time, I hope yougot your watches at US Coins and Jewelry.
I have a beautiful rolex that youknow, you save up and you
work your ass hard, hard artyou want to go get something beautiful.
That's one of the many things thatyou can get at US Coins and Jewelry.

(10:20):
Kenny and Matt duncan probably listening rightnow while they're at work. They
are open on Saturdays. The onlyday they close the Sundays. Check fil
a copy their business model. Greatguys eighty four thirty five Katie Freeways right
near vas not too far out ofLoop six' ten. Big time a
year for them. Also November Decemberholiday shopping. You need to go if

(10:41):
you want they and I need toactually I need to take some pictures.
I need to go. I'm overthere but once every week and a half
talking with the boys. If youwant a gold a gold bar like a
bully on the heavy thing, theyactually have those two. But anyway,
they are for gold and silver. They will buy it from you, they
will sell it. They've been aroundsince nineteen eighty five. You want some
people you can trust, some greatsecurity and just just walking in with your

(11:05):
loose diamonds, your coins, yourwatches, your estate, jewelry. They
buy and they sell your precious metals. It's the great Duncan family. They
do have rolexes. They got ussome really great jewelry. I saw some
tennis braces in there, some wonderfuldiamond rings, some nice ear rings.
Ladies, go check it out. They do give you free and written appraisals.
Safe and secure showroom right at KatieFreeway near Voss. Check it out

(11:28):
and off you if you're not inHouston, go check them out US coins
and Jewelry dot com. You cantrust them even online. People from literally
all over the country. Seriously, they really do shop with them. And
so yes there if you do getto watch you especially relics, you do
have to manually set it back, but you know what, suck it up.
And I'm actually fine with setting saidthem. By which, by the

(11:50):
way, my son was in townlast My youngest said came in town and
he stayed with me last weekend fora few days. And he was putting
on my rolex and he was walkingaround like he was the shdoor Sanders Man,
and he was just like you know, walking and waving people's faces,
taking pictures. Hey, he's likehe was shopping in my Do you ever
do this? Do your kid? This was very special to me because I

(12:13):
have three boys, as the longtimelisteners know, and they're all in their
twenties, and they they're all roughlymy size, my height, but the
younger one is almost right at me. He's maybe an inch short of than
me, but he's got my buildand they like my clothes. You know,
because you know, Daddy's got style, you know, at least I

(12:35):
like to think. So. Sothe young one comes in and he's playing
around in my closet like at midnight, and he goes, what do we
have here over here? You wantany of these shirts? So he went
shopping in my closet. So we'reup until like one in the morning.
Now he walked out. This kidwas like, like he walked out on
the price is right. He walkedout with a thousand a pair of a

(12:58):
thousand dollars boots, if not moreOstrich boots that I had, uh,
probably four or five really nice buttondown shirts and you know, you know,
kind of garf pimp shirts. Theentire time he's wearing the Rolex,
he thinks he's sneaking out with theUS coins and jewelry little legs. He
did not sneak out out of herewith that one. Now I have an

(13:18):
air tag on that because that thingain't going. But anyway, one of
the neat things is is a pit. See women, if you're listening,
your daughters do this right. Idon't have any daughters, so I don't
know. They they share clothing, they share, Julie, they share makeup
a lot of them do that.So for me as a dad to be
able to actually, let you know, just have my kids just wear my

(13:41):
clothes or borrow my clothes, orI'll give my clothes. It's it's it
was. It was pretty cool.So it's happy holidays to you. And
you know what I get in exchangefor that. I did think I gotta
I think I gotta thank you.I need to go back on my video
camera security system and see if heactually said thank you. But you wear
it well, Adam, So happyholidays to you. Let me tell I

(14:03):
guess she'd get back to the show. Should I talk about that? Hey,
if you want a Black Friday day, I'll come to Michael Garfield home
and for ben County. That's right, you two can shop, no for
you if there are really some earlyBlack Friday deals, and I've been perusing
online and I did find some fromsome of your retailers out there, Target
and Best Buy, an Amazon anda few more. So real quickly,

(14:24):
let me kind of go through themif you want to make a list.
I already told you the history ofwhy do they call it Black Friday?
But every year that the term BlackFriday, it becomes more of a misnomer.
As I said it once was postThanksgiving special offers. I mean,
it's become an entire month of Novemberpromotions from everybody on the web. And

(14:46):
it's already happening right now. Ifyou just kind of google Black Friday,
and it's my jobs to tell you, you know what's good what's bad.
Let me give you a few ofthem. Some more popular items people always
want air pods. Number one,Apple makes AirPods, and they're already on
the second generation of the EarPods pronormally about two fifty they're on sale.
I think I saw for two hundreddollars at Amazon. Now this is right

(15:09):
now. Prices could go up anddown as I'm not making these up,
but by the time I say it, they could go up and down.
I did see these things, bythe way, and it's awesome. My
job is to let you know thatthere are other products out there than the
name brand products I'm talking about. If you want the inn ear wireless pod

(15:30):
type earphone, bluetooth earphones, earbuds, if you will, there are many
others than Apple air pods. Yes, Samsung makes some. But if you
can go down to even the reallyinexpensive kinda anchor, a n ker.
You could do a Google search, you can walk into any retailer. You
can find him as cheap as probablynineteen dollars, thirty nine dollars, fifty

(15:52):
dollars. They're not the best.Probably they're not gonna have active noise canceling.
Probably, they may not have thelongest charge charge, you know,
because some of them you are gonnahave to recharge you every few hours.
But there's are different ones. Ifyou tend to lose them, if you
want to give them to somebody who'syoung, a teenager that you know they're
gonna break or lose them, don'tgive them two hundred dollars Bluetooth wireless,

(16:14):
your earbud. Do something else. But anyway, I did see the Apple
AirPods Pro that was two hundred dollars, the uh Apple Watch it's not the
latest woman. There's an Apple Watchseries nine that's on sales. And I
saw fifty dollars off that was threehundred and fifty dollars, and that's also
an Amazon the UH. If youwant the Apple air how about this one.
I just told you about the AppleAirPods Pro. Well, you don't

(16:37):
need the pro one. These areApple. I thought I saw some Apple
AirPods at Walmart. Sixty nine dollars. Now you're gonna say about ninety dollars
at that point it's the second generationAirPods, not AirPods Pro. Say ninety
dollars. I think I saw forsake, you know, at that and
that's a that's at Walmart. Uh, what else did I see? That's

(17:00):
of something that's interesting gamers out there? Speaking of my youngest son, my
son went out and he about aPlayStation five. He did not take mine
because I did not have a PlayStationfive. Spider Man two and a PS
five bundle. So you can geta PlayStation five, the actual gaming console,
save sixty dollars. That was that'salso at Amazon. That's five hundred

(17:22):
dollars right now, five hundred dollars. And it's nice that I don't think
you have to wait for that.Remember when PlayStations came out, you had
to actually have to wait for thosethings, and there was a line and
everything. Phones Motoroller Razor Plus ifyou want a foldable phone, the Razor
R A z R plus save normallyone thousand dollars seven hundred dollars. It's
about a thirty percent of that isthirty percent off people. That's a pretty

(17:47):
That's about the lowest price I've seeingfor a Motoroller Raiser. It's not my
favorite phone, but there's something elseoff there right now before the break Samsung.
Samsung has an eighty to five inchsmart TV. It's the frame and
if you don't know what the frameTV, it's the frame where when the
TV's off, you could show artworkeffects. It hangs on the wall.

(18:10):
It's an actual TV four K quantumdot technology. But when it turns off,
it shows the Mona Lisa wherever youwant to put up there save about
a thousand dollars at Amazon, normallyit's forty three hundred dollars and now it's
thirty three hundred dollars, about onethousand dollars. I'm gonna take a break.
I'm gonna start listening some more, some other things. If you have
anything specific in mind where you wantto tell me, hey, is this

(18:30):
a good product or is it crappy? I am your guy, Michael garfif
High Tech Texas show about him onthe hour and just for them people,
if you're just tuning in normally atwo hour show. Cutting up a little
close, a little short today becausewe are airing a University of for Houston

(18:52):
basketball game by contract. Apparently Universityof Houston it's a little bit more important
than the high tech Texan. ApparentlyI need a better, stronger contract.
Maybe we'll negotiate that next time.So we'll be out of here at about
forty five more minutes, so youshould get your calls in seven one three,
two, one two, five ninefive. Oh, just ran down
some early Black Friday deals about someApple AirPods and PlayStation Five's another thing.

(19:18):
Just got an email from someone agarf loved the show. I know you're
big into TVs. I don't needa TV per se, but I want
to start streaming wirelessly. What doyou think about all these Roku and firesticks
and things? What your recommendation andhow cheap can you find one? Appreciate
it? This is from my Jonathan. Jonathan is in Paarland, Texas.
Shout out Pairland, Texas. Well. I'll tell you what there. I

(19:41):
did find something. Amazon's always gotsome good deals. And Amazon itself makes
the firestick firestick TVs because they're it'scalled the Amazon firestick. That's what they
make, that's what they sell. And you're generally going to find big discounts
on Amazon owned products when it comesto the Amazon Prime Day, Black Fridays,

(20:06):
Holidays and whatever on Amazon. Soif you're looking for an Amazon Echo,
you know, the Alexa, alwaysgoing to find some deals. I
found an Amazon fire TV stick savetwenty bucks right now, normally fifty dollars
thirty dollars on sale at Amazon. As I search and find this, we'll

(20:26):
it go up, We'll it godown between the time you get online.
I'm not sure, but this couldbe the time if you're looking for a
fire stick. This makes your TVsmart. If you do not have a
smart TV, if you just TVdoesn't have to be dumb. Oh man,
I could have gone off on acollege comment that really would have ticked

(20:47):
off people in college stations. Soif you don't have the smartest TV,
but it still has an HDMI input, that's a type of input that for
television. It's it's this little usB type of thumb drive comes with the
remote control and you plug the thumbdrive type of device into the back of
your television and wirelessly that will receivethe Internet which makes your TV now be

(21:15):
able to stream most anything. Thereare a number of Roku makes a firestick,
and we can go on and on, but Amazon does make one.
In Amazon. It is pretty discountedright now, thirty dollars. That thing
is probably one of the first majordiscounts for the latest. Because this is
the Amazon Firestick. Let me putthis way, let me slow it down,
Amazon fireTV Stick four K. Thisis four K. This is a

(21:40):
little faster. There's more features onthe four K, and it's thirty dollars
right now, forty bucks off.And so this has I believe this has
the hold on and I don't wantto guide you're wrong because there is a
fire tv Stick four K Max.This is not the Max. This is
the fire tv Stick four K.They're still fine. Okay, So comes

(22:04):
to a little remote control. That'sa pretty good deal right now. There's
one also. I love this.I have two of these, you know.
I see this here again looking forearly Black Friday deals Google nest Hub.
Uh, it's not an all timelove, but I'll tell you what.
It's forty percent off normally one hundredbones now sixty dollars. This is

(22:26):
a target. Shout out to Targetover here. I just kind of at
this point when popped up the GoogleNest Hub, I am a Google I
mean, yeah, yes, Ido have a few Amazon things. I
have one Amazon Echo. Actually Ihave two ones built into my thermostat,
and I don't use either of them. But I do use my Google Nest
Hubs daily. There's one in mybathroom. There's one in my kitchen.

(22:51):
I ask it questions every day.I ask it what the weather is.
It pops up. I just likethe Google interface over here, though,
and it's a video screen and it'sperfect for kitchen. You can ask it
to show your recipes, watch YouTubevideos or whatever. You can see who's
at the doorbell if you've got anelectronic doorbell. There's just a number of
things that you can do because thishas a video strain. Google Nest Hub

(23:11):
sixty dollars over at Target. Soa few of the things that really really
caught my eye. Somebody also askthem about of television. I told the
story that I have a TV thathas been mounted in my backyard on the
side of the wall for six years. I've been living in my house.
When I when I moved into myhome, built the home six years ago,

(23:33):
and I have TVs everywhere. Ijust live on TV. I have
to have TVs. It's an ADHDthing. So after six and I hung.
I did not buy one of theseoutdoor TVs that cost thousands of dollars
because their sun proof, weather proof, humidity proof, Because for three thousand
plus dollars it ain't worth it.I can get one every year because TVs

(23:57):
is so cheap and it'll keep youknow, it's the ROI is worth it.
My TV out the outside lasted sixyears. It was a forty three
inch I don't even know what brandit was. It was an old TV.
It did very well, got methrough so many football seasons. It

(24:17):
was awesome. It's underneath an overhang, so it's not exposed to direct really
not direct sun, certainly not directreign. Yes, it's directly humidity,
but six years is pretty cool.It died. It's over so I was
just pruising around. I wanted thecheapest forty three inch TV and TVs.
Flat screen TV has generally coming afew certain classes. You have a thirty

(24:38):
two inch class and they call itclasses because it's not exactly thirty two inches.
Maybe it's thirty two point one inchesmaybe thirty two and a half inches,
so it's they call them thirty twoinch class. There's a forty three
inch class. Then you've got yourfifty five inch class, your sixty five
or seventy five goes. I justneeded a forty three inch I found one

(24:59):
Amazon or then Amazon actually gets itfrom best buy. It best Buy one
hundred and forty seven dollars. It'sin no name brand. It's not even
worth me saying I haven't bought aTV in years, and seriously, I
bought a TV. No company sentme a TV. I went and bought
one hundred and forty seven dollars fora forty three inch full high deff TV.

(25:25):
It's a smart TV, it's gotone hundred and twenty hertz refresh rate,
it's it's got everything idea to hangoutside. I don't anything special.
The thing's gonna done for one hundredand forty seven dollars. I can replace
it every month in case somebody throwsa rock throw it. Well, let's
just not actually wish for that.So do your research and find out what

(25:48):
you want. Now. Would Ibuy this TV to hang it as my
main television in my living room?Absolutely, not no to no outdoor a
TV because I watch it here andthere. This to me now because it's
as soon as it finally gets actuallywell, and it did finally get cool.
We got rain here this weekend. But yeah, from November December and
January February, the end of thefootball season. Yeah, I don't mind

(26:12):
lighting up my fire pit, andI got my big green egg out there.
You wrap up, you bring alittle cigar, and you go out.
You watch a football game. It'sgreat, bring the neighbors over.
It's all good phyromatic, it's awesome. It's fun having a tvl S do
not. I would not get anythingexpensive whatsoever. I would not And I
will tell you this. If it'syou better cover it if it's directly exposed

(26:34):
to sun and certainly rain, becausethat is a sure far way to actually
have the thing blow up in probablyby the day, if not an hour.
Make some of them. You goout by a custom a cover you
you could put, don't laugh,go get a big trash bag. You
could get a grill cover and kindof like drape it over there too.

(26:55):
There's there's you can you can reallycould boy scout this thing if really wanted
to so uh, that's a they'rethe TV buying guides and so if if
anybody else has tips also of whatto cover it with, or if you
have an outdoor TV, hey listen, I'd love to We love to have
you share your tips with us.Seven one three two one two five nine

(27:15):
five. Oh and you can comeover here and it'd be pretty cool.
So you know, check that out. What else we got is I am
checking the emails over here. DoI let's see how I'm like, Nah,
we got nam we gotta. Iwant to tell you when we come
back after this. A few thingsNetflix Netflix cut down on its account sharing

(27:42):
and they did that because they werelosing a lot of money and they don't
want to lose money. And theysaid, you know what, We're not
going to let you share your passwordsbecause we could actually make people pay for

(28:06):
the passwords, which they did,and they did this. They started out
in the UK, they started inother countries. They finally did at the
US this summer. For some reason, if your Netflix accounts that you share
because you have your user name andpassword borrow from your somebody else in your
family, your kids or your parents. Pretty much it hasn't worked. But
when we come back, I'm goingto tell you how an easy way you
don't have to pay the full pricewhere you actually can share your Netflix account.

(28:32):
That in one of the greatest inventionsI've ever heard of. I'm gonna
come back that. I'm gonna usethat as the bump when we come back.
AI Artificial intelligence pretty cool, ButI just found out the greatest thing
AI AI has done in our livesso far. You're not gonna want to
miss this. Just three more minutesof this episode of the High Tech Text

(28:57):
preempted because they Anniversity of Houston Cougarbasketball game. The basketball season has snuck
up in front of us and KPor C nine fifty am. They decided,
you know what, we better onthat contract and pre empt GARB show,
which is fine. So we're speedingthings up if you want to get
in. We're talking Black Friday deals, early Black Friday deals, and a

(29:21):
few of the things. I'm aboutready to tell you how to share a
Netflix account because Netflix has been cuttingdown on passwords sharing. The phone number
here is seven to one three twoone two five nine five, Oh I
got I do want to tell youthis story. This is interesting. Artificial
intelligence I covered the industry and Iknow about AI, and I don't know
if jud the public fully understands whatartificial intelligence is, what he can do.

(29:45):
It's it's very scary. We've gotthe government now potentially setting rules and
laws, cracking down what can beused what can't be used. Saw something
now that I don't know in thehistory of a as long as AI will
be around, will ever beat this. This is beautiful, the absolute best

(30:06):
use of AI I have ever heard. Don't you know where to start the
story? There's a lot It startedwith in the gaming, in the video
gaming industry. These kids, no, no, there are any kids,
Hey, adults. They video gameand when you play video games online,
you play with other people and youhave these headsets on so you could talk

(30:26):
to them. And there's you know, the first person fighter games in the
war games or whatever games you have, and you can sit there so you
have a microphone on, just likeI have a microphone in my face now.
But if you happen to drink something, or if you happen to eat
something, you're going to hear itonline. And when you have something crunchy

(30:48):
like a potato chip, it bugspeople. Well, some geek or some
geeks decided to use AI to roundout the crunch of a Doritos. Folks,
let me tell you about the newestproduct in the market, Dorito's Silent,

(31:12):
the latest artificial intelligence tech Marvel designto save you from that nasty sound
of mastication of eating and crunching ona Dorito's chip. I will say this,
this is not April Fool's Day.This is real. I saw a

(31:33):
video of this and it looks itlooks pretty freaking real after analyzing more than
like five thousand crunches over about asix month period of time, and I
can imagine those grueling hours of crunchingand munching and audio analyzing. PepsiCo and
some geeks, the PepsiCo Snacks scientists. They said they created a software that

(31:56):
uses AI to silence the sound ofyour snacking sends. I mean, is
there anything worse than a twelve yearold kid playing Fortnite while listening to him
chomp on Dorito's while he does it. I think you could download this somewhere.
I saw this, like a videoof it, and it's hilarious.

(32:16):
Whether they doctored up, but listen, all I know is yay for Dorrito's.
They're brilliant because it got me tomention the word Dorito's now eight times
on my radio show for free publicity, free advertising, and they're not sending
me any cool ranch Dorito's. Ilike coolra was it the Taco season Flavor
Classic. I'm kind of a coolranch guy. So three Tha's if you're

(32:39):
listening, you got me. Youcan also send me a PlayStation five and
a headset so I actually can tryto out myself. I'm not kidding.
This is what folks, this iswhat AI is meant for. Where's there's
a before and after. There's somekid crunching on a Dorito's. They turned
the brunch analyzer, the crunch AIsystem on and the kids eating and you

(33:05):
don't hear the sound if it's fake. It faked me out, but I've
seen you google it. Put Dorito'ssilent and go watch some of these videos.
It's funny fun So let me quicklysum it up like this, as
we stand on the precipice of anew era where the crunch is personal and

(33:25):
the silence is share, why forone half to wonder what is next?
Will Epsi Co And Vente Soda thatlet you burp silently think about that.
Here's what I want. I wanta cheeto that doesn't leave the evidence on
my fingertips. And we'll have abouttwenty more minutes of the show today.

(33:47):
What invention would you like to seewhen it comes into this realbum that artificial
intelligence could do. I'd love itto remove the fat from every piece of
food I eat. I'd love itto wipe out and eradicate mayonnaise off the
face of the Earth seven three fivezero. This hard hitting things that I

(34:10):
actually talk about and do for youhere on the High Tech Textan show.
Well, I'm going to talk aboutNetflix. I've been teasing this too long.
Uh. Tragically networks password sharing itis a thing of the past.
Uh. They were testing it outforeign countries earlier. This summer. Netflix
truly did live up to what theywere saying. They cracked down on passwords

(34:31):
sharing here in the United States. So even though they put it into an
unofficial password sharing you cannot share itwith somebody outside of your house. Technically,
you still can't share a password withsomeone outside your house for a price.
So sharing a password with the useroutside of your house will cost the

(34:52):
owner of the account an extra eighthours on top of what they already pay
for the netw Fleix plan. Now, if you're on the standard Netflix plan,
you could add one person outside yourhouse. If you're a Premium Netflix
plan, you can add up totwo. Still, that is cheaper than
creating your own Netflix account. So, parents, and now, as my

(35:19):
parents are listening to this show rightnow in Dallas on iHeartRadio. If you
have a Netflix account and you wanta gift your only son, your oldest
child, a Netflix account instead ofhim having to fork over sixteen to twenty
dollars, you could pay eight dollarsper month on your account, and you
can. I can share your accountwith you. It's kind of easy.

(35:43):
Here's what you need to do beforeyou can transfer your Netflix profile to a
different account. You have to enablethe feature. You can do this on
your phone. You can do iton the web. You can also do
it on your computer too. Goto your account, turn on profile transfers.
You can actually transfer your pro fileto another Netflix account if you're creating

(36:04):
a new account. It's a wholething. Listen. I'm just here to
tell you that what you thought, and I'm not into illegal stuff. Listen,
I can tell you how to illegallyget HEV networks, NFL Networks,
and all the streaming shows for prettymuch almost nothing, which I actually saw
earlier this week, and I thinkit's pretty cool and I am, and
they have to get this device too, but I'm not going to tell you

(36:25):
about that. But the point ispeople think, well, Netflix password sharing,
you can't share a password. Nowyou technically can, but you just
can't do it for free. It'sa great business decision from Netflix, and
you know Max Disney plus who They'reall going to start doing it too.
Because Netflix saw a record number ofbrand new subscribers and record number of revenue,

(36:49):
amount of revenue come in for theirthird quarter. It was pretty big.
It was pretty pretty big. Andso go ahead and do it.
Go ahead and share your Netflix account. And if somebody out there would like
to share their Netflix account with me, want to just go ahead and spot
me be eight hours, I'm morethan happy to do. Actually give you
a shout out. I feel freeto send me an email and give me
your username and password. I doappreciate that. I mean, after all,

(37:12):
I've spent twenty plus years of myweekends talking to you. You think
somebody could give me something, andthen again, I'd rather actually have a
dorito sign like potato chow. Fifteenmore minutes. We do have a short
show. We got the U torecive Houston Cougar basketball team starting at twelve
fifteen pm this Saturday, November eleventh. Should you be listening live, so
hurry up and get your info inand when I come back, I want

(37:36):
to talk about budget laptops. Peoplewant to buy budget How can I get
a laptop under one thousand dollars?Man, there's a lot of laptops that
are one thousand dollars. I canhelp you out with that. This is
what I do. Stand by highTech Text Show Hour number one is over.

(37:58):
So hi is Michael Garfier Michael Garfield. Michael Garfield's joining in the high
Tech Texan. Michael Garfield is herewith a high tech Texans items to make
life easier, some new technology. So Michael Garfield has something you might want.

(38:20):
Michael Garfield is your high tech Texan. Three decades helping you make magic
with your gadgets. Heard worldwide onthe iHeartRadio Act. Now your high Tech
Texan. Michael Garfield Top of thehour. Normally I would say it's halfway
to happy hour, halfway through theend of the High Tech Texans Show.

(38:45):
Nope, people, we are outof here T minus six and a half
minutes to make way for the Universityof Houston basketball the Cougars. It is
basketball season alas the High Tech TextingShow preempted this week even on the stream,
So hopefully you will cheer for theCougars because you're not getting any more
consumer technology or other lifestyle product infoother than if you send me an email

(39:07):
or you actually go online to highTech Texts dot com. We'll wrap it
up this as our final segment today. We do thank you for tuning in
last hour we catch you up.Went through a number of different early Black
Friday sales. Black Friday normally theor traditionally the friday right after Thanksgiving Day
November. All the month of Novemberpretty much now has seemed to have Black

(39:27):
Friday deals. I'm gonna call himearly Black Friday Sales. You can go
podcast this. Callum a man, thank Callum, thank you, Callum Reid.
He's going to put this in tenminutes now. Once I finish,
go to iHeartRadio. You search KPRC. Maybe Michael Garfield you can listen to
the entire show again. Since I'mnot doing a full two hour show this
week, you can listen to metalk about Black Friday early deals from Amazon,

(39:52):
saw some from Targets and Walmart. They're out there too. Also talked
about how to share your Netflix passworduser name password. They cracked down on
it a few months ago. Ifyou missed that last hour, that's how
I ended the hour. There isa way to legally do it. It's
gonna cost you a little, it'sgonna cost the owner a little extra money,
but it may be worth it.I'm gonna see if I can sneak

(40:13):
in this best budget laptop. Somebodysent me. Hey, Michael, I
was gonna get a laptop for mykid, and there's no need to get
expensive one. He's gonna break thedamn thing. I'm quoting that right now.
What is a good laptop that ispretty pretty, pretty cheap? And
I bet you're not gonna say anythingApple, Well, I will tell you
this. There is an Apple. There's a MacBook air M one, not

(40:36):
the newest one, but the MacBookair m one. It is of It's
probably the best Apple budget laptop outthere. It is a quick search about
eight hundred and fifty bucks on Amazonright now. There's a few other prices
online. It's under nine hundred dollars. That's a big one too, if
you want a Windows laptop. I'mkind of an HP fan again, unpaid

(41:00):
endorsement, and I wish they wouldpay me, but I'm not. The
HP Pavilion is always a good one. What's the latest one here? What
is this one? I'm just gonnapull this up, the HP Pavilion Arrow
a e ro Arrow thirteen. Itis eight hundred and eighty dollars, thirteen
point three inch display. That's prettygood. Those are still pretty expensive thought,

(41:24):
I mean, you can't get adepending on what you do with the
laptop. I would tell you tokind of look at Chrome books. A
chromebook. It's not a Windows laptop. It's like it, but it doesn't
use the Windows operating system. It'sa Google operating system, just like Android,
but it uses Chrome as the operatingsystem. And they're generally about half

(41:47):
the price. As a matter offact, when we pull up one over
here, here is a Chrome Thisis a Lenovo Idea Pad Flex five I.
You're not gonna remember that one.Four hundred and eighty bucks, thirteen
point three inch, it's got anIntel processor, it's got a good one

(42:08):
twenty eight gig of storage, eightgigs a RAM. It's good if you
want to surf the web, hutsaround a little, you know, use
Google Docs. But again it's nota Windows it doesn't have you know,
the back end of the Windows elevenpro or anything that's going on right now.
So in terms of leftomes, youcan get something cheap. I will

(42:30):
tell you what you can even gocheaper. I'm gonna find the cheapest way.
Here is one for three hundred dollars. This is an ACER Aspire and
it's a Windows lapto. Here's Windowseleven, three hundred dollars from Amazon,
and it's I have not used ACERdoesn't have the highest exit's only got five

(42:50):
twelve gigs of storage. But that'sfine. You know, you can use
the cloud too, But three hundreddollars. If you've got a teenager,
young teenager, they're gonna break thething. They just want to use it
to play games or something like that. I mean not the fastest games,
but just just a little word processing. That's that's a pretty good deal.
So yeah, you do not needto spend a full fortune. I will
keep my eye open as Black Fuddaysales continue to go for the budget laptops,

(43:14):
and I think you're gonna like that. One last thing, I was
using a product last weekend and itwas pretty funny. I went to this
event that I'd say I didn't wantto go to this event, but it
was an event. But it wason Sunday afternoon. It was outside,
and it was during the during duringa Cowboy game. You know, I'm
Cowboy fan, and I'm like, okay, I better go. Well,

(43:36):
no way, I've got a Igot my phone and the phone I have
right now it's a foldable phone,so you can fold the phone out.
It looks like it's an iPad orsomething, and I've got the big screen.
How do you listen to it?Well, I was thinking I could
bring these my earbuds that are white. I'm thinking, well, that's gonna
be obvious if I'm sitting here witha bunch of people. You know,

(43:57):
I don't have to look. I'dlove to hear the game, even though
maybe i'd I don't have to watchit, you know, and keep the
keep the phone down on my lapor something. Found it better something.
I have several of these. Irarely use them. I have sunglasses with
built in bluetooth your phones that comeout of the sunglasses, you know,
on your glasses that go over yourears. There's a number of these things.

(44:17):
This company called Loose. They sentme a pair at l U C
y D LUCID, think about onehundred and hundred fifty dollars. They look
through some glasses. Oh, bythe way, they bluetooth connect to your
phone, so it was an outsideevent. I hooked them up to my
phone, kind of kept my phonein my lap, but in my ear.

(44:39):
But because there's nothing sticking to myear, it's coming through the what
you call them, you know theside of the glasses, left and right
side in stereo. So anyway, there's a number of these things. And
the person I was with did notfind out, so she couldn't get mad.
It was pretty funny. So there'sa number. Bose makes a pair

(45:01):
two hundred bows. They're called tempthe frames, thank you, the frames
of the glasses. Bose makes onefor two hundred and fifty dollars. Bose
Tempo frames. There's Razor makes oneand these are actually good for running.
So if you run with music orsound. There's they're kind of like sport

(45:22):
audio sunglasses. Here's one for sixtydollars at Amazon. This is I've never
heard of this company called of Av A Injury Aventree sixty bucks. Soundcore
is that? Yeah, that's theone I have. I have the Soundcore.
It's by a company called Anchor an K e Er and they're pretty
cool. They're kind of slack. That looks like sunglasses. Nobody has a

(45:42):
clue that I'm on the phone. And yes, it's got a microphone,
so you could pick up a call, keep your sunglasses on. You look
like you're talking to nobody. God. That that's Awesomehere were these when I
was in class college. That's beautiful. So noway that could be a little
stocking stuff for you. Anything elseI could do? Whoop? Sorry,
I gotta get off because u AGjust kicking me off the air right now.

(46:04):
Uh Cougar basketball coming back up?Callum read Thank you for manhattling the
short show. Everybody else who haskept me on air for twenty two years.
You know who you are. Wantany questions? This is a big
next month and a half for me. I showed a lot a lot of
holiday recommendations, TV appearances, GreatDay Houston and everything. Michael Garfield is
my name, Check me out highTech Texan and wherever fine social media can

(46:25):
be found. High Tech Texan isin. People, go enjoy your rest
of your weekend, whatever you're doing. My name is Garf and right now
the short show is over.
