This is the Kelly Golden Show podcastpowered my Disaster Fluffs on a big veil
Bride. Constitutional carry Law of theland in South Carolina, the twenty ninth
state. But what does that mean? Buddy is get here with IKARCWP dot
com. Welcome back, Hey,thank you, thanks for having me.
We've also got Lana Brian on theline right to bear ba R dot com.

(00:24):
How are you, Lana, I'mgreat, thanks for having me.
So let's get into this show, because, Buddy, this is so important.
With IKRECWP. Some may say, well, you don't have to have
a concealed carry permit anymore in SouthCarolina. Well, it's a good idea
to have the CWP for reciprocity andfor the knowledge of what you can and
can't do, where you can carry, where you can't carry, but also

(00:48):
to protect yourself as well. ReciprocityFor people who don't know what that means
because they haven't been through your class, it means when you travel, this
is really important for you to knowwhat states you can and cannot carry your
firearms. Lana, did you wantto add to that. Absolutely, you
cannot get away with saying I didn'tknow. You have to know the laws
in every state as you travel through. That is why it's so crucial to

(01:12):
take a class to make sure thatyou understand the laws of an individual states.
So let's talk about that, buddy, for people who you want to
encourage to take the class, becausequite literally, constitutional carry eighteen plus.
If you can legally own a firearm, you can legally carry it. Correct,
you can legally possess a firearm ateighteen, but right now the purchasing

(01:33):
of a firearm is limited due tothe background checks. Yeah, so the
federal government will not background check someoneuntil they're twenty one twenty one, correct,
but they still really I think shouldgo through the class eighteen and up
frankly, because well, I don'tknow is it out on that on the
paperwork and how long it lasts.A person of eighteen years of age can
go ahead and take the CWP class. Your training is good for three years,

(01:57):
so by the time you turn toone, you can submit the paperwork
to SLID, you'll be twenty oneand you can go and get your CWP.
But you've already fulfilled the requirements forthe CWP. Well, what's important
is that you're understanding the what thewhin the where the why? Can you
make some examples here for people whoare happy to be able to constitutional carry

(02:20):
and not have to go through aclass and Lana, you jump in any
time here. I would like tostart out with that because the new law
under Code section twenty three thirty onetwo fifteen states that any person eighteen years
or older can now carry a firearmopen or concealed without a CWP. And

(02:44):
this is where it gets a littleshaky, not to say that they couldn't,
but now you're going to bring onschools. So if you are a
senior in high school, you're eighteenyears old. Now you've got the federal
law with school carrying on school ground, so there's an entire section on that.

(03:04):
So yes, eighteen year old, please take a CWP course just so
you're not an accidental criminal because thefines they're higher, the sentences are much
differ. So yeah, it's theeighteen year old now can open or conceal
without a CWP. Alana brings upan interesting point here because if you actually
have a concealed weapons from it alreadylike I do, like you others,

(03:28):
it's the opposite when it comes tofinds the lighter sentence. They're cheaper fines.
So it is it's absolutely different. If you commit a crime involving a
concealable weapon as defined in the section, you can be imprisoned not to exceed
three years. You can serve consecutivesentences. It's much higher if you don't
have your CWP. If you haveyour CWP, it's less because you've been

(03:53):
through the training. So this isanother reason to encourage people buddy to take
the class which are Saturday classes. There eighty five dollars. I know that
you offer discounts. I just wantto say, not only with the CWP
training and the legalities of carrying ornot carrying a weapon, we also have
a weapons training module where we teachyou how to actually hold a weapon,

(04:15):
load the weapon, cite the weapon, and use it safely, carry it
safely, and the responsibilities of eachweapon holder to have it and store it
in their home, especially when theyhave children in the home. So there's
the legal component as well as theweapons training component wrapped all into one in

(04:36):
one course. I CARECWP dot Comis where you can go and we hit
the what, the when, thewhere. Those are the educational side of
things, and that's the how howto handle your firearm. Probably a lot
of people who are considering now carryingtheir firearm because they can, but maybe
have never even handled their gun,and Lana if they're what ever is a

(05:00):
case when you actually, god forbid, have to use your firearm. That's
where right to bear comes in.So let's talk about I'm mistakenly called right
to bear dot com liability insurance. What's the difference. We are an association,
We're a program and an association thatprotects every American, God forbid they
have to use any type of weaponto stop the threat. We need to

(05:25):
talk about the why why do peopleget firearms training? Why do people obtain
their CWP? Why do people carryfirearms? Because I want to protect myself
and my family and anyone around youwho needs it. That's right, right
you want? I can't carry acop in my back pocket, right,
They're too heavy. I also,I'm not a Hollywood celebrity. I don't

(05:46):
have an entourage around me, soI have to protect myself. Two and
a half pounds sounds pretty good. The other thing to think about is I
want to I'm not going to bea victims, so I'm going to make
sure I get the training that Ineed so that I can defend myself if
I have to. And so thatis the why well with taking a course

(06:12):
from Buddy over at Eye Care,he is such a thorough his sorrow instructor
that his students leave so well roundedand so responsible, like they really understand
what is happening. Should I carry? Can I carry? There's all that's
taken to place, and that's whywhen he partners with Rights to Bear,

(06:34):
he offers his students this coverage, which you absolutely have to have if you're
going to defend yourself in any way, shape or form and have to defend
yourself, because there are three partsto every fight, and everybody kind of
knows the first part is your education. The second part is your legal battle.

(06:55):
You're going to be put into thelegal system period, end of discussion.
So there is no you know,oh, you know, you're fine,
You're not going to get charged. It's not up to the police officers
to decide that. It's those solicitorsin South Carolina. So you have to
understand what's going to happen. You'regoing to be put into that legal system.
So it's important to have someone likeRight to Bear on your side best

(07:17):
thirteen bucks a month anyone could spendLanna, Yeah, are you kidding me?
I pay that out a Happy mealright drive through Happy Meal thirteen dollars.
I mean, it is unreal thatit protects you so well. But
in order to get that thirteen dollarrate, you have to use the promo
code I care and when you signup online to get that. Otherwise it's

(07:40):
a little bit higher. So asI Care CWP dot com. You can
click on the bear logo there withRight to Bear if you're just tuning in
it' Salana Bryant with us as wellas buddy is get with ICARECWP dot com.
But go to the website. Hopefullyit's the class including the protection with
Right to Bear. But when youclick on it, like you mentioned,

(08:01):
you'll get a discount there. AndLona, I think it's important to talk
about what separates you from the othercoverage out there. People don't seem to
understand. I think the big differences, and they're big, they're huge,
they're huge. That's why I absolutelyso proud of representing Right to Bear being
an association, there's no there's noinsurance involved when you're dealing with an insurance

(08:24):
company, they have the right torecoup their attorney theeves if you should take
a plea deal. For example, ninety eight percent of all self defense cases
end in a plea deal, andif you take that plea, you're admitting
guilt. So if that happens,a lot of these companies out there have
a recoupment clause in their contracts whichstate that they can recoup their attorney themes

(08:48):
that they just paid out on yourbehalf. So now you've got to pay
those back. It's very, verysilly. A lot of those programs out
there don't cover law enforcement on andoff duty. They don't cover security guards,
armed or unarmed. They don't coverchurch safety teams. You know,
we do. We cover you ina working capacity or not. So that

(09:11):
is what sets us apart from anyother program out there, is because we're
not insurance and there is no redtape, so you pick your attorney with
this, unlike others, you actuallydo have input us to the outcome of
your case. And I think it'svery important ona to also differentiate the fact
that this is any type of assaultthat you have coverage with BEAR that will

(09:35):
cover not only just firearms, rightWe're not just a firearm program. We're
in everything program. So any weaponof opportunity I've trained. I'm an instructor.
You know, my big thing ismy gun is my last resort.
My gun is when I have noother options, and you can stop a
threat by using anything at first tostop that threat, well then you should

(09:56):
because your gun is your last reason. So we cover all weapons, even
your fifth. So if you're topunch somebody and they fall back and hit
their head on the concrete, well, not only will you probably face the
charge, you'll probably face a civillawsuit as well. So right to bear
covers you both criminally and civilly.Well, and if there is a crazy

(10:22):
protester in the street and jumps infront of your on top of your car
and falls off and gets run over. If there's a fight at school and
a kid's tooth gets knocked out,I mean, there's all kinds of examples
here. Absolutely nailed it. That'swhy we have minor child coverage. We
have multi state coverage. If youtravel all the time, it's important to
know the laws in every state. The minor child coverage alone is awesome,

(10:45):
So the kids have the same coverageas their parents. It's a very very
important, crucial program, especially goinginto an election year. Let's wrap this
up with why it is still imperativeto get your seat WP despite constitutional carry
now being the law of the landhere in South Carolina. Why you would
want to make sure that you getyour CWT from I care and buddy is

(11:07):
there are so many laws that youneed to understand. Not just that South
Carolina pass constitutional carry, We're goodto go now, it is you need
to know, Hey, there's asign in this window. It's eight inches
by twelve inches. The letters arefour our fore fonts. That is the
correct size. I can't carry myfirearm in there. You need to know

(11:31):
something as simple as that that youcannot carry your firearm into that building or
into that business. You need toknow you can't. You know, can
you carry into a courthouse? Canyou carry into a federal building? What
about post office grounds? You know, there are so many things that happen
within a class that is imperative forsomebody to make sure that they understand all

(11:52):
the all the dos and don't withthe when it comes to the law,
literally down to your car, soyou know where you can carry in your
car now? You can carry anywherein your car now. Legally, used
to be that had to be youknow, in the glove box and closed
glove box, console or the trunk. Right now it's you actually carried under
your seat. It's not practical, but you can actually carry it under your

(12:16):
seat in your car pocket. Someundermount systems you can have for your vehicle
as well. Now you don't evenhave to tell a police officer that you're
carrying, So I would advise thatyou let an officer know. However,
legally you don't have to tell them. So there's a lot of things that
Buddy is here to instruct you on, is educated himself about and for many

(12:37):
decades now in law enforcement. Iknow you've seen a lot of changes as
a constructor. After thirty years ofteaching firearms from academy students, the deputies
and police officers on the street, there's been a lot of changes, a
lot of safety precautions taken to protecttheir safety. So you, as a
law abiding citizen, need to beon the right side and be on their

(13:01):
side and protecting yourself and others Icare. See WP dot com look for
that bear logo. Sign up fora class today. It's great that you
offer discounts to teachers, nurses, first responders. I mean, we got
to take care of those folks.Yeah, definitely, ex military myself.
I appreciate the nurses, the doctors, the military, even police officers are

(13:26):
families, you know, we givediscounts to them, so everybody's open.
First responders will take care of you, all right. I CARECWP dot com
and with right to bear, IselanaBrian, you are a wealth of knowledge
and information. Thank you. Thankyou so much for having me on.
