Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, we appreciate the Obs, the life blood of this podcast.
If we didn't have it, I don't know what we do.
I honestly don't know.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
The normal podcast with audio and no fun stuff in
our background.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
No change in the backgrounds, which changing in the garb
because it is the first day of fall, Kevin, should
we change it to these spook a weeen crisis or
should we wait till the first day of October?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
October?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Okay, I don't know what it is and I gotta
find it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Look for it. It's somewhere in these files. All right,
it's because behind something you gotta put it all right, Well,
all right, first day of October.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
That's decided for us. All right, great, we'll figure it out.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
You get eight episodes with the spookle ween ween listing
on there for you. Hey, enjoy here, all right, I
put it back. I want to see get rid of it.
That's teasing. Uh, we got a jamp back show for
you today. Not only are we talking about, as you
said in the title of this podcast, the Penguin episode
one After Hours, we're also talking about Transformers one doing

(01:51):
actually really well the box office, so maybe some future there.
What got announced that Netflix is Geeked Tweak, which really
is more like a day more than anything, more like
a two hour presentation more than an entire week, but
it is what it is and some wrestling talk with
Kevin Why. Well you'll find out why about ten ish
minutes from now. But you can see everything we're talking

(02:14):
about so much more by going to Hot ninety nine
to five dot com slash Crisis Crew Say up today
on the nerdy news you need to know at Invent
Underscore five Zone, Instagram. Oh the X go and give
it to you where currently you can see all the
trailers that got announced at Netflix this geeked week presentation thing.
And it wasn't a lot of stuff, but some good
stuff in there. Though we'll talk about I'm needing there

(02:37):
to stick out teeth in too.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
But you know, it wasn't like a comic con. It was.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
It was a it was a mini con. If any
YouTube videos exactly or Kevin, where can they interact with
us live when we record the podcast or on demand
on their own time?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
You can go to YouTube dot com slash if you
underscore post to watch us on demand. We watch us
talking about the penguin one of those first and else
make you watch it all the way up into reviews episode.
But I want to go on his live. You can
us twice a week on twitch dot tv. Have to
underscore pods, join the chat and have fun with your
boys twice a week.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
It's always a good time and just some foreshadowing of
what is to come next week's podcast. Your boy will
not be here. I'll be in Miami, so Kevin will
be holding it down do whatever he wants to do.
So you'll find out next week on Monday. It's episode,
I'll give you homework.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
You'll have a report to do and we will reference
them all next week.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Zach, did you find Pipple? Did you find m VP
the wrestler? That's all we want to three or five?
Both the three or five people.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
You see three or five?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
I want to know maybe maybe maybe, But we always
start the podcast properly with what you're doing. We'd talk
about the movies and TV shows we've been watching, games
we've been playing, lives we've been living. Because it is Monday, Kevin,
you get to go first, Good sir.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Oh before we go, I actually want to say happy
early bird Day to us, to us because we actually
posted our first episode October twenty seventh, twenty sixteen, so
we are almost eighty years.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Old, almost a month ago, so it was at a
little too early on that little early birthday there.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
But I knew it wasn't around this time somewhere because
we're the same day as my daughter, so I knew that.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Now. We based it on what was posted on the
speaker link, not when we recorded the episode, when it
was posted on the spreakers Posted, which is the website
we used to post the podcast audio. If you've always wondered.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Other than an early birthday shout outs, what I do
this week?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
This weekend was well you did, yeah, you did have
a big birthday weekend. So so she turned.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I can say how old she is because she'll throttle me.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
She turned twenty five.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
She turned a big old sixteen tweet.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Sixteen twenty five, let's keep it appropriate. She has two children,
but we celebrated her this week.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
We went to a really cool it's like a privately
old version of Raising Kings. Okay, but the tendors were
said to being about this big or about that big.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
So is it a raising canes or is it something different?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
It's the same concept. This is probably basically so it's
not a raisin canes. It's a raisin canes, like it's
a chicken ship restaurant, like.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Oh okay, okay, it's like raising cans okay, yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
But they also have sandwiches. You can get beer there,
So if you have you ever in Baltimore with the crew,
maybe you can step by there have a good no time.
So went there on Friday, and then on Saturday we
decided to go on a little road trip. We drove
to Burk's Pennsylvania. You know. First first went to land Kinster,
Pennsylvania to place I saw on TikTok, which is the

(05:36):
largest buffet in America apparently called Shady Maple.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And did you get in? It's the first question we
got in.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
We were lucky because I called there about a month
ago and I said, because it's a buffet, and the
buffet that starts bakfast, lunch, dinner. I'm like, okay, if
you get there for dinner, for breakfast so to speak,
we have to pay again for lunch. She said, yes,
So what you do is play to get there at
around ten o'clock. That way, the breakfast stuff is still out,
but you just playing lunch prices. They stay as long
as you want there you go pro tips. So the

(06:04):
PIX was like an hour and a half away. We
left at my house at eight thirty one. We got
there at ten o'clock and we walked right in basically
and got to our table and was able to have
a pretty good time. I'm glad we did, because around
eleven thirty the lunch crowd showed up and the line
was a lot different than when we got there, because,
like I said, we walked right in leaving, it was
a line outside the door.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Now place, Yeah, was this place packed when you got
there too? Or is it kind of like they were
doing the turnover turning over?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Okay, yeah, yes, we got right right there and that
we spot a turnover time. I don't understand that that's
a buffet like cheat sheet thing, but.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
At least for that.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Here's the thing, though, they're not a lot of buffets
the cheat sheet at anymore unless you go to a
like a happy buffet near you or something. But like,
these are the main lessons you know from this big
ass mega buffet place.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, except it's called like a shady maple apparently there
it's a farm. It's a buffet. They have their own
like farmers market there and a furniture store. It's like
a whole, like Pennsylvania dutch Town, like that type of experience.
The buffet was massive. It was almost anxiety inducing because
it's how big it was.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Did you eat want of everything or did you miss
anything that you're like, ah, I should have got that.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
The only thing I missed was dessert because I think
of a second while I missed dessert, but I pretty
much had one of everything, even for breakfast. Breakfast was amazing.
Then we sat there for maybe like twenty minutes and
then went back to getting lunched. The lunch stuff was amazing.
They had everything that burgers, hot dogs, They had grilled chicken,
grilled salmon, grilled catfish, so like a lot of down

(07:37):
home stuff. They even had like any best wad you
can think of, green beans, corn, breastls, spouts, and then
any kind. They had like fourty types of ham, which
is weird. I thought it was one type of ham,
but they had ham cooked four different ways, which is crazy.
Of course, chicken tenders, fries for the kids, the so

(07:59):
that was really cool there. Got there like when I said,
around tam for around like one thirty to my second place,
which is called Hold, and we get make sure I
get it right here do p u l Plum Creek
Farm Market. And this is in Burke's, Pennsylvania. So we
were in Lancaster first. Then we drove thirty minutes off

(08:19):
the road go further than Pennsylvania and this place is
more of the more of a like a a farmer's
market slash eatery slash dessert place with also had had
their own farm market as well. That's where we got dessert,
and the reason why I wanted to come in this
place sat again. So I on TikTok and they had
they make their soft pretzels on site and had one

(08:42):
of them. It's better than Anti ends like it's it's it.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Was probably for sure.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
And like that they have like the like the like
you know, I watched the Christian cream videos. They have
like the the sugar the sugar waterfall thing. They have
that for butter for the for the present.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
It was like, can I go on the butter water please?

Speaker 3 (09:03):
So we went to spend the day there and this
is just a real nice day of family and road tripping,
had dessert, there had a little little playground for the
kids and they played around there and we just kind
of hung out all day with her, her family and
my family. It was just a little fun day. So
that was our That was our birthday weekend celebrated. And
actually wasn't that expensive either. I only spent like one
hundred fifty bucks im Like, I thought it was gonna

(09:23):
be like it.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Could have been worse, but it wasn't.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
It wasn't that. It wasn't a Disney adventure. We had
the Disney Springs haven't.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Broke broken.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Other than that, that's all. That's all I've readly been
planning to do for like the last month. That's all
I really did this weekend. Again here, I'm a little
wonder the.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Weather, all that, all that buffet driving.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
That was the one thing. Once you get out there
into that to that Dutch farm area, you smell it.
It's a different type of smell than leaving going outside
your house. Reason a lot of manure up there there
floating around. But that's all I got up to this weekend.
What about you?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
But yeah, so it's been a fun weekend. This was
the last weekend we've been dog setting, two dogs. And
it is funny because the day before we the Skellies
came out to pick up their dogs. They went to
the beach, which is fine. We love watching their dog.
We're like, oh, this is kind of nice having two dogs.
And they're like, oh, no, she's leaving tomorrow. And it's like,
do we like two dogs? Are we ready for that?

(10:24):
And I was like, I don't know. So that's just
just thought process, Just to think thought process. Mark this date,
September twenty second.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
My niece and her husband have two dogs. When I
got married, only had one dog. They got another dog.
Oh maybe like a month or two later after I
got married, and they're loving it, so it can be done.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I don't know, I want to pay the pet insurance
for two dogs. We just gonna pay it. Well, I goat,
here's the here's a swift reminder. We thought Teddy was
low on his allergy pills, Like, okay, let's go order those. Like, oh,
it's three dollars a pill over here. I don't know
about this, Teddy. You get, you getting, we get and
that's it. You getting Bena drill, fake Benda drills. When

(11:03):
you're getting over there, he will know he pills a pill.
But on top of that, I.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Did what did we watch the other day?

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, we started the Fall Guy. We didn't finish it.
We'll get pretty much guy fall asleep. We're gonna finish
it tonight. It's fine. It was tired. It's those Friday
nights when you're work in the morning. Job is You're like,
I can't make it past nine o'clock. It is what
it is.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
I am no good past nine. Anything to do before that?
Let me know.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, but then I've been playing Lost Star Wars Outlaws
I'm I think according to PlayStation I said, I'm thirty
hours in and I just got finished tattooing, and I'm like,
all right, before I do these last final stretch missions, Uh,
let me beat everybody in Sabakh. And once you get
all the sort of cheats to do to beat Sabaki,

(11:54):
it is real quick. Yeah, poop Papa, are done done? Sorry, Lando,
you told me how to do this. You shouldn't done
bught me this.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
You take the L, you take the L, you take
the L.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
It is what it is.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
I will say, it is interesting.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Uh, Kevin, you haven't done tattooing yet or you have
in that game.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I'm honestly, I'm this close to checking out on so want.
I need to get that game to it because.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
That's okay, I forget about it, that's okay. It literally is.
I'm pushing it because I know those games I want
to play as I My goal is I want to
play Last of Us for Halloween, at least the first one,
because I think it's pretty perfect for that. I like
playing spooky games during Halloween. But there is a moment
in the game, where do you mind if I spoil
this for you?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
What?

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Okay? Do you remember the bounty hunter that chases you
at the very beginning of the game? Yay, and then
she's missing for like the rest of the game, Like
twenty hours later, she popped up again like all of
a sudden.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, now you guys are friends, Like wait, wait, what
what happened here?

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Best friends?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
But did I miss something?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
And also I don't like is there's period where you
so like, oh oh, I have to go to this
planet to do something. After you beat the main mission,
usually get cut scenes of stuff. If you fast travel
instead of hyper jumping into hyperspace, you don't get the
cut scene, so pay attention. So if you want everything,

(13:18):
got to do the things that wants you to do.
Besides that, still enjoying it. Probably gonna finish that, hopefully
this week, so then I can be like final verdict,
what I think on it? Yeah, probably playing Last of
Us in October and then I think I talked about
this on Monday. I might have talked to you about
this offline. I did purchase Kingdom Hearts the Story so far,

(13:40):
which is all the other Kingdom Hearts games minus three
because we already had three because we played it, we
dropped off and I was like, you know what, I'm
gonna give this a proper chance. It was ninety nine
dollars on the PlayStation store. It was forty five dollars
on Amazon, and then our good friends at East Starland
had it for what it properly should be twenty five.
So you boy bought that locally. Shout out to East

(14:03):
Arland and Chandilly.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
And it wasn't on game Pass.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
It was not on game Pass because it's like a
whole bundle of all the games, so it makes sense
why it's not on game Yeah, but so that's being shipped,
so that would be the game after Last of Us.
It'll be good Disney Final Fantasy.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I think michael next game is probably going to be
Assassin's Screed. I think I'm a little bit of the game.
I kind of want to get Dragon Age looks kind
of cool, but I remember I had Dragon Age a
couple of times, and every time I always played for.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Like three hours or something. Maybe you try Bowler's Gate,
you know That's what I mean. It's not it's a
couple of years old now, but you try it, and
you know, you know what, people there's walkthroughs for to
do things. If you they're like, I want to do
something specific, but you could just make a random character.
Maybe you pick one and then you have Leah or
Alicia make one with you, or be like, no, we

(14:53):
hate that person and guide the decisions.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I think I'm giving up on on on Leah playing
console games.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
She's a mobile gamer. Through it through.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Man, I mean, I have to those video games, but man,
WI should pick up a control with it once in
a while. Level he loves.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
But yeah, so good weekend so far, and then next weekend, reminder,
I won't be here. I'll be in Miami, uh for
brother John's bachelor party. We're going to the Dolphins as
his kind of main event thing of the bachelor party weekend.
And then everyone else, well we'll find out that's what
kind of happened with my bachelor party, and.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Just it is what it is.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I'm gonna make sure I'm with him, and then he's good.
We're good. That's all matters.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
He'll be bouncing in the club and the heat is
on all night on the beach with a brick and.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Dog maybe maybe, who knows, But let's get on into
the news.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
It's time.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Yeah, first things first, let's talk about some Wrestling.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Kevin, You ready, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
There you go. It's all sound effect I had because
Kevin talked about how he has to downgrade is he
didn't talk about this in what You're doing, but he's
downgrading as Hulu Live TV, so you can't watch smack
Down Live anymore.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
No, Yeah, hul Life has to go. When I first
got it, it was like forty five dollars a month.
They're raising the prices next month to eighty seven, and
I'm like, no, I don't need live TV.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
That all I'm not.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
I'm fine. And we know that ra's moving to Netflix
in January. NeXT's on the CW, so you'll never watch
that anyway. That's fine, and that you know, as of
right now most of the premium live events are on
Peacock for now. For now. Well, Kevin, the news story
while I'm saying this is you might want to keep

(16:44):
Max because the legit report is that ae w's live
events are coming to Max. Finally.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
I mean, I think I feel like they should have
did that in the beginning because they do pay per
view and that weird other app that you can.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
For the fight app right or BT Sports is the
other one too.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
I think, yeah, it's such a weird app to have
just from one thing where if it's on Max, even
if you just posted on Max, after the event.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Is over, I'll watch it. I'm gonna put it on
watch it.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
I'm not hunting down fight for application to watch the
AW snive.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I'm sorry it's weird, but yeah, I think it's really cool.
I mean, this is according to our friends of comment
book that you know, part of the Warner Brothers Discovery
deal AW has because they're on TN T and TB yes,
which is owned by them, is that Max will be
the home to it's what pay per views, premium live
events whatever they call it, Like keV said, no words

(17:46):
on it if it'll be the live stream of those events,
because Max I think has that tier. I think it's
with BT Sports that you can watch certain live events
to a degree, but I think just discoverability, that's that's
what wins. I think having WW on Peacock has been
a major way and for them because it's just like,
all right, there's enough to watch on Peacock, but Summer
slams on tonight, Let's watch Summer Slam, you know.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, I remember when they announced that partnership like Peacock's
subscriptions like double.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Okay, let's face it, like yeah, Like that's the main
reason why a lot of people have Peacock is so
they can watch the w W P l E's for
free technically, you know.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Basically, I mean, it's gonna suck that I can't watch
like well, I already can't watch the Orioles on Hulu
Live because the doors have this weird deal when you
can't stream games and it's so stupid. But I mean,
I have a antenna in.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
My I'll figure it out. I turned my radio on
in the basement.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
I don't work on the station that broadcast oils in
the Ravens, so I just go to work and watch
it work. But it's gonna suck that I haven't SmackDown Live
on my TV anymore. But that's what TikTok is for.
I don't know if you guys have ever scrolled on
tick like, even if you don't have a TV, you
can watch anything. It may be intercepted with a video

(19:03):
of somebody painting their fence on the bottom of it,
but on the top of it you be able to watch.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Your your or they're playing some mobile game at the bottom.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah, So unfortunately it's been it's been a good relationship
for seven years. But bye bye Hulu plus Live for
the white families. It's it's done, and.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
That's ook it.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
And this is also not an that's not an I
llegal thing and TikTok thing. That's just TikTok has a
monitor taking things down like that. You could watch the
super Bowl or the batter or anything you want to
do live, just got to look it up.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Oh yeah, I mean it's like literally like sa super Bowl,
a Bachelor, like literalone live. Like you can watch whatever
House Hunters live on a TV on TikTok.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
You probably could watch an aw paper few for free
too as well.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
At the same time, yes you can.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
I've seen it.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I've seen it, and it's been a time. It's been
a time.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
It's almost to the point that especially with wrestling, where
like there's like a guy literally streaming live on it
on their TikTok and they go to commercial, they go
commercial break, it just goes full screen and the answers
questions from his viewers.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
He's like, fine, if I have to talk to you
this time, I guess I will.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
It'll be fine. Unfortunate there just because no more live TV.
And then in the white household, let's just give it
to us by antenna, but we still have Samsung Lave TV,
which is that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Watch Kischen Nightmare a zone for some reason and you're like,
how did this same Sung TV or any of those
like TV native channels, Like how did they get these things?
I don't know how.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Who's modeloring this this feed? Put anything up there, nobody
would catch it. Nobody would catch it.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
But yes, exciting.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
So if you are in aw right now, the live
audience is kind of there and here and there, but
if you want a chance, maybe watch it. I think
that's a cool opportunity for that. But in other news,
cool thing is didn't realize I beat the gun last
week talking about Transformers one because I thought it came
out last week, came out this weekend. Actually it actually
is doing very very well critically in box officely sort of,

(20:58):
I guess because because as of Rotten Tomatoes, Transformers one
is officially the highest rated movie in the Transformers franchise,
with a ninety eight percent popcorn meter, which is the
fan one and an eighty nine percent Tomato Meter, which
is the critic one.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I believe the other one before was Bumblebee was highest
rated one.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
I would say.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
I thought, I was, yeah, but this is a prime
this is I'm promising.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
I will say, yeah, I think it's really cool.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Uh spoiler? This is not a spoiler. But I saw
it in August because they had They've had a lot
of early screenings for this, I think, just to get
word of mouth, because when you see this movie like, okay,
the kid kid define it. But it really is paramount
learning what works from Spider Verse. You know, we had
teenage Mu Ninja Turtles last year that did not well

(21:49):
box office wise, but it was very high regarded. I
really liked it. And then this kind of looking like
the same pattern but very highly regarded. And it's like, hey,
if you you want to be in these universes where
everything is super cgi, just making an animated movie instead.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
You know, yeah, there's nothing else that's gonna be animated soon.
Is the Lord of the Rings thing?

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
War Uh the animation.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
I feel like we're not there yet. But the thing
that people think, say, my animation is for kids, it's
starting to wear out. Maybe it will be there where
we need to be in. But I feel like Sastage
Party jumped the gun that would wasn't ready for that yet. Yeah,
for an animated adult movie.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
And then the TV show came out like it's a
little too much, a little too much this summer too much.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
But I mean with movies like a Leader Battle Angel,
this Spider Man, Me and him, I feel like we
were like three or four years away from like an
animated movie that is not a kid's movie. It's an
adult movie just happens to be animated. Maybe it's animated
like cartoon style, maybe they animated more realistic like Pixari,

(23:00):
or maybe a little more like like kind of Transformers.
What is We're almost there. We're not there yet, but
we're almost.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Interestingly enough, like I kind of said, with teen of
these mutant ninja turtles, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Transformers one, we're kind
of duking it out for the number one spot at
the box office this weekend. It beat It looks like
as of an hour ago, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is gonna win
with twenty six million dollars this weekend. Transformers one just

(23:27):
within of a rounded twenty five million, not the best
for an opening weekend.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
This definitely is a word.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Of mouth like it's good, go watch it, but still
having it's still looking like it's going to follow the
teenage mutant Ninja Turtles effect. So hopefully the studio is
looking more at the critic side and the reviews side
versus the box office side of things.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
And also it could be like kind of like how
Elemental was Elemental came out.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
It did not, and then all of a sudden it
just kept making money.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
It just kept going to the point where now was
almost at five hundred dollars file million dollars worldwide, So
it could be that amount thing where it's like, no, no, no,
I know it didn't open, Well, go see it. It's
pretty good. And like you said, doun't this is a
half a billion on a movie like how that happened?

Speaker 1 (24:13):
How did you get here?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
What happened? But yeah, I'm excited for to see how
it does well. I mean we kind of talked about
a Monday of that. The directors and casts have said,
you know, we'd love for it to get a sequel,
but it's really up to the studio that they have
a storyline for a sequel. Maybe that's what we do.
I mean, we know, maybe you do a two punch

(24:35):
effect of you know, a jab hook effect of you
have Transformers, G I. Joe Live Action and then Anthony
Ramos and then you stick with the animated and that's
your bread and butter, and you're we're gonna test things
out with the G I. Joe Transformers thing.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
By the way, on TikTok, I actually did end up
seeing dang it, what's the guy that plays makea Tron
in the movie.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Again, Brian tyreee Henry.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
I saw Brian Tybby Henry and Chris Hemworth in the
video with those balloon Poppy guys like battling one of
those balloon pop battle things. But they definitely kind of
market this film a different way than they would just.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, I saw on TikTok of it. Apparently they just
they invited Keegan Michael Key to like one of those
things where you're on a suit and you see the
character animate, and they just had him to do Bumblebee
as Bumblebee do do like the Charlie XCX Apple trend
and just Apple trend Like this is great. I really
wish you would have done that like two weeks ago
and at the weekend it came out.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
But okay, yeah, I didn't feel like this this this
movie didn't plan in marketing. That planning as it wasn't
a good marketing just didn't the time it will.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Yeah. I think it's also we're in that period of
usually fall movies, it's here or there, not everyone's watching
laughing Beatles, just beetlejuice, I think is the exception.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Everyone's seeing that because it's Halloween movie.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
But now it's where you kind of see people dwindle
in and out until we get to like a November,
which is why you know you have Milana and then
you have Clicked with Wicked and Gladiator two coming out
in November.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
But even even though those movies are poop pooh before this,
I still am in a stand for the first three
Transformers movies.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
So it's the TikTok I set you the other day,
Michael Bay hearing that Lincoln Park is back insane. Let
me write the draft for Transformer seven now at the
perfect soundtrack.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I feel I feel like if the one to the right,
the first Rider strike in two thousand and seven read
The Fallen could have been better than what it ended
up being because suddenly they were in the Egyptian it was.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Weird, devastating fall.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Yeah, do weird And then of course no, Prime don't
trust them and them up flat. Yeah, don't do that again.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
That's not acceptable. They've done, they've done for that action.
But something that's not done is Netflix is Geeked Week.
So in case you don't know what that is, Netflix
likes to have its own week of just hey, we
have you know, we have a lot of nerdy shows.
You should watch them.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
And it's really kind of picked up.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Now you'll have a Cobra Khai, you'll have Avatar, you
have Arcade, you have a lot of other shows. Stranger
Things has kind of been the main proponent of that too.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Well.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
They had it last week in case you didn't know,
the main event being on Friday, which you're like, hey
this or actually on Thursday night into Friday. That's what
it was was, Hey, here are all the shows and
trailers you've been waiting for, all in a two hour
special hosted by Joe Manganello.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
That's almost Netflix THU.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Yeah, so we're gonna kind of go through the big things.
I mean, the main thing off the bat playing on
the bureau if you're watching the video version of the podcast.
But we now know Kevin who will be playing who
in Avatar the Last Airbender season two.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Maya Setch from Ario the Doctors is going to be
playing tough Big Phone in season two of Avatar the
Last Airbender, which is already in production, which is great
because we saw things kids age quick, so.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Kids age quick. Yeah, and it's really cool.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
The trailer they showed really just tough, like doing the
foot circle thing to kind of know where things are at.
Like we said, Hey, it's cool, and like you just
gotta make sure you film it when you can, because
Aang's gonna look real old by the time season four
comes out, if we do book four whatever, you know,
book three.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
And it's exciting too because the way they kind of
remix season one, it's season one, book one and season
one of the Avatar. I'm kind of hoping they do
the same thing with season two because season two is
a lot more of I want to say, like political
hijinks because of the cult personality and the Earth Kingdom.
So interesting how they take that, take that and take

(28:53):
that on in season two. But very excitingna. I like
season one even though it was different but with the same.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Yeah, I think it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Like, SOA Moore and I are going actually next week
to Friday, before I leave for the flight at six
they have it sucks for the Miami flight. We're going
to the Avatar and concert thing on Friday, which is
really cool in DC, and so like this is really
hyped in. She didn't really watch the live action one
with me, but I think we're going to rewatch try
to speed watch the original series before we go out

(29:23):
and watch the concert.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
But the music for the show is here. I mean
everything's here. Just if you've seen.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
It's it's pretty practically the same to a degree, I.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Will say, the easiest thing you can do. I'm not
right for the season two the speed watch. It is
once to get the season two and they take apa
skip to one need to give him back because watch
in the first place.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
And then the other main thing we got we got
kind of our first real full trailer for Squid Game
season two.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Kevin, did you watch the first season the Squid Game?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
I feel like that was like one of the last
other shows we kind of talk about with Mando and
WandaVision that everyone watched before the pandemic happened.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Yeah, this show kind of escaped me. My wife watched it.
I tried to watch it, but I just the lip
syncing some titles. I wasn't a mental place of the
time to read, so I never got around to it.
I get the story concept of it, and I feel
sad with a guy that thought he got it last time.
I was just back.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
He's back in and now yeah, Lee Jung Jet Lee
Jung Jay, who we love obviously from The Acolyte, which
is now been canceled. It'll be really cool to see
like taking him out of this into like a Korean
drama which really wasn't gonna do well all but word
of mouth with the pandemics what made that show go viral,
and obviously the shooting of people playing red Light green

(30:44):
Light then the Actlyte. Now back to this is is
gonna be dope. It's it's supposed to come out in
December twenty sixth. They haven't said word if it is
a Netflix of it's we're gonna space out the episodes
because they've been doing that a lot. But I'm down
for it, and it's like, hey, holiday Christmas is over
and now let's watch people get killed. It's squid game.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I mean last year when they when they when they
released the Marvel series What If Holiday Break, I think
that helped it. Everybody was just home anyway, So it
could be the same type of strategy they're doing with this.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Yeah, I mean, I'm excited. I do hope that.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
It's just not like, oh okay, nothing's really going on,
which is the only downside it could have is like
it didn't do anything different, you know, But we'll find out.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
They they ever do the squid game game show.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
They did and a lady yeah, yes, and a lady
from the d m V one and yeah, because she
notoriously didn't get her money till after the show had aired.
They're like, we're not gonna We're gonna give you the
money to the finale ars.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
That's the thing they do a lot of those shows,
like even like if you watch any other game show,
like they won and then was there out here, here's
your money.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Now you can be Now you can enjoy other cool things.
We got Netflix and CD Project red I have announced
a new cyberpunk show is coming on the Horizon Allah
Edge Runners. No word I want it is, but hey,
you put countu Reeves even if it's animated, showing that
people go and watch it.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Yeah, cyberpunk anime, and this just sounds like they may
have found on niche here. Outside of the game we speak.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
We also got announced the Devil May Cry series is
coming April twenty twenty five from Capcom. We don't know
who's voicing the characters, but it will be made by
Korean company Studio Mirror in April.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
It looks cool.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
I think the cool thing is Netflix is really tuned
into you know, we have original anime. We've brought anime
we kind of stolen from Country Roll, and then we
have IP based anime shows, which is cool, and.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Also doing a show on Spinerself Show with Lee Schreiberg
voicing Sam Fishing, which is.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Really cool, Old man Samfish.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Sure it's cool, but it's also Madden because like, you'll
be sold make a gud.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Make a Gada fifteen years.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
What do you wait for?

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Yeah, I want to here's the thing. You put a
show out, then you can easily release a game. So
maybe that's what they're trying to do. Kevin, it's been.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Like twenty five middle Gear solids and we haven't come
that spinner So since.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
They said you got to see old man splinter Cel
for old Man Sam Fisher first in Deathwatch before you
can play as him.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Who was the last Spinning Cell game. Last splinter Cell
game was in twenty thirteen. So yeah, it's been ten years,
eleven years.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Eleven years, twelve years at this point by the time
the show comes out, exactly we want it, damn it. Yeah,
so that's coming. And then the main event obviously also
was our Cane. We got confirmation that it will kind
of be not split up. Really it's gonna be three
weekly bad Act one coming out November ninth, act to

(34:04):
November sixteenth, and then finishing up November twenty third. Uh
if it's third and final act. And this is a
reminder that this is the last season, so they only
had two seasons for this, so like, really good. I
think come November that's when you want to rewatch the
first season because if you're like me, you don't remember,
you're like, oh wait, Hailey Steinfeld and Ella Purnell, two

(34:25):
of the like big Hollywood actresses right now are the
leads of the show.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Placed them on Saturdays.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
What show actually is that November ninth is Saturday.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Yeah, n ninth is Saturday. Sixteenth is Saturday a twenty third.
What Saturday by Night is interesting? Interesting?

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Maybe they're going for that like Saturday Night or Saturday
Morning cartoon vibe or something.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Maybe yeah, maybe that's.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Or maybe they got their their dates wrong. That's really
you're right, It is really weird to have it on
Sunday or.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Saturday, maybe backing on Thanksgiving break. But that's the following
with Games of twenty eighth.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
But yeah, it looks dope. I have the trigder playing
in the video version of the podcast. If you want
to do it. There's a lot of it's a nightclub
to watch that. Watch your video footage if you're not
used to it. Used to lights and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
But looks good.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Animation looks dope, and then we'll see what happens next.
In the world of Arcane, Slash League Legend with its
animated shows, because they could go all day with these
shows if they wanted to.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Remember, I said last I'm arcane almost at how you're
not doing a legal Legends podcasts this close.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
This close, we almost played the game. We almost did it,
but kind of going back into everything. Overall, a lot
of good shows potentially coming to Netflix, just you know,
got to have the Netflix money to pay for those shows.
Ak pay the monthly fee to watch those shows.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
It essentially Netflix has always done good shows. It's the
movies that kind of hit and miss, but the shows
are you can It's almost as would I wouldn't say
it's almost like Apple because Apple has less content than
Netflix has on it, but there are a lot of
good shows on Netflix. It just got kind of fine,
what fits you?

Speaker 2 (36:06):
And then the main thing what we're all here for, Kevin,
get the logo ready, It's time to go back into
Gotham City because we're talking about the Penguin episode one.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Wow wow.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Wow, so really fun.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Kevin.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
The chat is really convincing you to play either Devil
May Cry or Metal Gear Solid based on what comment
you were responding to.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
I played Metal Gear Solid, Don't Make Cry. I don't
know why I was never played any game in that franchise.
I don't have no idea what. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
I think it really was like you got on it
and then you've been on like you've been hooked and
you play all the games. But if you never got
hooked by one, you're kind of like, okay, you know,
and it always comes out at like weird times with
other video games.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
A lot of them. Some of them were launched titles
for a couple of couple of consoles. I think it
was like, you know, back in that time, I wasn't
by my console, so I gotta forgive my mom got.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Me madden't Usually he was like the football so here,
I gotta hear the football game. But yeah, so we're
talking about the Penguin. Episode one is called after Hours,
Fun set Ups, Stories, Facts of this show. Colin Farrell
an interview of the days, like, yeah, it take me
three hours to get in the suit, forty five minutes

(37:27):
to get out of it every day when they're on set,
and then if you're the main character, that's every day
of filming.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
So he's at totally stock nantletech. He just goes like
that on his.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Chest, like hey, yeah, just put me in the gray
So I'm not I'm not not doing this anymore. Especially
for one of them scenes, you're like Batman was in
a full body suit for that scene.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
But we know the Penguin series it takes place. Days
is kind.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Of the language they're using. After the events of The Batman.
So when the Riddler flooded Gotham, he flooded the poor
streets of Gotham, but didn't flood the rich streets of Gotham.
Oddly enough, you think he would have done something to
the rich side of got No, that was just all
m not not the poor people.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
It was the rich. I'll leave it alone.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
We do know that the show is gonna have eight
episodes that kind of finishes around I think it's like
the first week in November, so also kind of through
your October show and fun fact friendly reminder. At the
end of The Batman, Riddler is sent to jail, which
is cool. Was a good little like mini recap. There's
a news report, so we didn't have to have a
recap of the movies. Kind of not a lot of
shows do. And that Carmine Falcone uh was killed at

(38:42):
the end of the movie. But in this sense it
is it is not the same actor playing Carmine Falcon
It will be Mark Strong instead.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Yeah, it was. It wasn't she was his name the
Gotham Transformers Transformers wasn't him? Definitely Mark Sean John Tturo.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
That's what which is weird. I mean, obviously, in this
first episode we didn't really see any of them. She
didn't really need to recast them, but it'll be something
we talk about in the future episodes of like did
they need to recast them at all? Because they could
have been fine of just like, okay, yeah, we're just
talking about them, you.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Know, doctor Gerald. She's like an actor's actor.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
I think it was busy. It was busy.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
It had to be that.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, But Kevin, what did you think of the penguin
non spoiler before we get into everything.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
First thought is that maybe her name right here, Christina Malatti,
is terrifying. That was my first thought. She in this
series plays Carmel Cole's daughter who was just ark him
that she's out. So yes, and when she got out
you could feel her power on screen. I'm not familiar

(39:50):
with a lot of her work. I'm sure I've seen
her in something.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
She's the mom from How I Met Your Mother.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Uh, Palm Springs with Andy Sandberg on Hulu. Other main
claim of fame is the Star Trek parody episode of
Black Mirror. She was the main person in that too.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Okay, I don't know if she's more of an up
and coming actor or.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
No, she's kind of been around but just hasn't gotten
like her big lead role yet.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
I'm excited to see what comes out of this for
her because she has one of Emmy over this or
at least be nominated because of one episode she was
amazing in this.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Now, Kevin, have you seen I've seen a lot of
people come through comparisons. Have you seen the Sopranos? I
mean you probably know of it, but have you seen
first four seasons?

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Who became kind from leg for me? But yeah, I
watched like the first one season.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Okay, I haven't. I know of it because my dad.
I was like my dad's show when it happened, but
never paid attention. But I've heard a lot of comparisons,
like if you know Sopranos, this show kind of follows
it but has an ip on it essentially.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
I don't. I kind of disagree, only because in Sopranos,
you're the main folk point would be the Felconty family
that whoever the boss is, whereas in this one you're
more one of the workers. So that's why I said,
I kind of still stick to it. This is more
like good Fellows for me than it is okay, because
it's from the focal point of an underboss, not the boss.

(41:16):
But I guess AFBO has experience producing a mob favored show,
so I definitely they're doing that show that Deffe helps it.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
Yeah, I think it's also it's kind of like who
HBO is doing it, so obviously they're gonna do the
sopranos again, you know. I think it's that kind of
stigma around it to a degree.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Yeah. Then, and also, since I mean the HBO show
was based on an actual around, like the actual real
Mob who were honored for them showing their Mob on HBO,
this is based in Gothams, so it could be a
little bit more crazy, a little more playful exactly that
as grounded, but overall I like to show a lot.
I thought it was a good take on Gotham. I

(41:55):
actually think it's a really good way to bridge the
gap between the Batman and Batman two, because now when
we go see Batman two, we have a more understanding
of what actually is going on in Gotslam besides Batman
swooping into the last minute to say the day basis. Yeah,
so yeah, at all, I am I'm excited to see
the rest of how how does all plays out? I

(42:16):
was upset there was an hour long because you know
forty five minute shows, But I can get over it.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Well, you're gonna be ready because something they came out with,
like they already told you the episode length on social
and like, oh them finales, you get ready, you get
ready for them finale episodes.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Two hours later.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
I really enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
I did didn't watch on Thursday, wait until Saturday to
watch it. A fun friendly minder. The new episodes will
come out on Sundays starting next week. As of this
podcast recording at nine o'clock, so it is your HBO
appointment viewing of nine o'clock. So we'll talk about them
potentially if we do Monday recordings. Just depends on scheduling.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
But really enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
I really enjoy Colin Farrell as the Penguin because it
is you know, we had Danny DeVito Penguin, and we've
had kind of you have Batman animated series Penguin, which
kind of is the same thing, yeah, as the video
game Penguin, which I think is a lot of more
people's claim to fame with Penguin nowadays. But I really
like that it is penguin origins more than anything? If

(43:20):
it really is, like, how does the penguin become the penguin?
How does oz Coab become the penguin? Because we kind
of said on Monday of the Batman is really Batman
Year two more than anything or whatever. So this is
we're still in the era of mob bosses being the
main villains and ruling Gotham before you know that switch

(43:43):
of we hire somebody which long Halloween comparisons the Calendar Killer,
which was spoiler Alberto Falconi, which is a whole thing. Yeah,
kind of kicks fires. A lot of these themed villains
to pop up terrorized Gotham from generations on. So it's

(44:03):
really cool just to see you know him. I think
the best scene was him telling Victor, which I think
was it was a really cool character too of that, Hey,
I had to go here and play dumb and kiss
their feet and all this stuff. But really, I know
what I'm doing. I'm doing side things the whole time.
Is that just the position he's in right now?

Speaker 3 (44:23):
Yeah, talk about him real quick. Ramsey is he was
the voice of it was his name in a conto
Camillo and one of that.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
He's a kid.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Yeah. Wow, yeah, his at.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
At Oh no, he's the he's the he's the he's
the guy who shape shift. That's.

Speaker 3 (44:47):
His addition to the to the Cats was really really good.
I didn't I didn't pay attention to him in the trailer.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
As much like, oh yeah, side character, but him.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
Being basically Pengos number two, his his go to guy
or kind of like his Bob from the first Batman
to Joker.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
M hm mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
It is a great way for the audience to kind
of see the world through their eyes because basically when
he stopped going little spoilers here, we he stopped him
trying to steal his rims and he's like, hey, you're
gonna help me. Now. That's kind of like where we
would be like, oh my gosh, things about to kill me.
I'll do anything to kill me right now. Please needs
by down steps. Let's do it. I'm your guy, Let's

(45:23):
do it. So his addition to the cast was really good.
And then in the end the end of the show trailer,
the rest of the season, his growth is gonna be interesting.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Yeah, uh, it's funny.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
It is a lot of this.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
This is a more of a theory thing than anything.
I saw on TikTok or like, hmm, maybe is Everyone's like, oh,
he's gonna turn into Victor's ass because his character's name
is Victor Al. I'm like, I don't think every character
has to be someone, but maybe.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
I have a theory about him. I would say done.
But by the way, just put us in the trap. Holy,
holy crap, Clancy Brown's in the show. So it was funny.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Yeah, here's the thing, a honest droop. He is watching
the episode right now, so he just got.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
But it was funny because when he showed up, it
was weird hearing his voice live and not.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Sweet his face and it's his normal voice. It's not
a character. I mean, it's a little bit of Italian
on it, but it's his normal voice because he's been mean.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Of course, mister Crabs he was. He was the bad
guy in the ragnar Rock but you used to seeing
him voice. I think he has an amazing voice. I'm like, oh, shoot,
it's the actual guy.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
It was pretty cool because we look at that guy.
Uh yeah. Overall, really good, strong start, and just hope
you can carry it on for the next seven episodes.
And obviously I think there's more of a conversation we
get to like the last episode is like, do they
keep doing this? Well, we'll see once we get to the
last episode, but let's get onto it. Full spoilers ahead,

(46:50):
so you've been warned. Uh, we've already kind of been
spoiling it already as we go, but it is what
it is. But you're watching the video version, we have
spoiler warning, and if you're listening, we having the description
below up where we fully talk about spoilers. But yeah,
episode really kicks off and is cool. I'm making this
a show where I don't take diligent notes. I just
enjoy it too because I take diligent notes during the

(47:11):
Marvel stuff, and it's a different take, different type of
podcasts when we do those. But it's a week sent
they say it's a week, a couple of days whatever.
After the assassination of Carman Falcone, destruction of Gotham City,
seawall I thought was a cool thing was that the
news report also had I believe because I haven't seen
the Batman in a little bit it was the same
actress who was in the running to be the new mayor.

(47:32):
At the end of the Batman is I think Mayor
elect I think was what it was. The guy got killed,
and it was cool that a news report was like, oh,
thanks to the Batman, Like I was like, oh, it
makes sense because he's new. They just call him the
Batman character. He saved Gotham and helped everyone on the helicopter,
and like, is he in there? Is this like a
wide screen shot they had in filming day of Robert

(47:54):
Pattinson helping people.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
If he didn't show him. I was kind of looking
because remember that shot of the movie he's setting up
kind of tall by everybody else, Like, I like, like
a wide shot of that shot. But no, I don't
say anything.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
But essentially, while all this is going on, we find
out that oswald Oz cob which I don't know if
that's what they're making, He's gonna be Cob instead of
cobble pot is Uh.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
He is at the Iceberg lounge.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
He's looking he's breaking into, uh the kind of back
door lounge, the back lounge that Carmel Bacone happened, which it.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Was really cool.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
He used the same imagery of those doors opening and
the Batman and it was the same club. So kudos
to the set design people for recreating it. Because it
looked right right like it did in the movie. Penguin
finds a sash of jewelry. He finds a couple of files,
one on one of the what was this guy, Johnny Vitti,

(48:52):
one of the like the leaders of the Falcone gang now,
and then one on a city official, which you remember
in The Batman. It was all the city officials and
they had the it was like the contact lenses that
Batman could see through Catwoman, which was cool. So while
Penguin is doing this, he's interrupted by Alberto Falconi, who
is now the new in charge of the Falcone crime family, uh,

(49:16):
questioning why Penguin's there. They have a good.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
Of just like oh, like yeah, the first thing I
remember what was done.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Back and forth really of uh, you know, like I
know where you're here, you always you're you're a good soldier.
But you know, I know what you are. You know
when you're we're at you're the Rata Lata all that,
you know, all that good stuff, which is that's a
cool thing too. They did have a there's a QR
in this episode. You click it, it takes you back to
the Rata a Lotta website from the Batman and it
has new stuff on it, so that kudos to the

(49:48):
w B I doing that because that was cool. But
essentially it gets to this point of uh and it's
a cool like kind of opening monologue, dialogue or whatever.
Really yeah, the penguin be like, yeah, I want to
be like this guy. I think he's like the line
from the comics. I think what his name was is
like Mark Calibreezi or something like that, something like that,

(50:11):
an old gangster in his neighborhood, Rex Calibriezy, that's what
it was.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
Who was respected that.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
When he died, the crowd the town threw a parade
for him. Albertil Falconi makes fun of peng Oz and
he's like, that's what you want. You want to be
respected by a bunch of nobodies. Alberta says, what I
have is much bigger than this. He lasts at Oz
says ha ha kills him and he goes, oh fun,
and it goes to the penguin logo.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
You know, it's funny. When that part happened, I was
waiting for like a smash cut of that's what I
should have, did you know what I mean? No?

Speaker 2 (50:40):
No, shoot, yes, no he did it and now we're
dealing with Yeah, but then we deal with the immediate
after effects. Oz has to stash the body in his car.
While he's getting out of Iceberg Lounge, he runs into
Victor and a bunch of his boys as they're trying
to jack his car, which definitely his plumb car. Is like,
he keeps giving me joker vibes from Suicide Squad, So

(51:03):
I don't know why, but it does.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
Yeah, he definitely is not incognito.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
No, and that's funny, is too?

Speaker 2 (51:10):
Is that in this episode kind of jumping around in Gotham,
he is very flashy and forward of you know, having
the plumb car and the plumb suits. But then when
he does go wherever his mom lives, I don't remember
where specifically, Yeah, an old ass volvo that like he's in.
But he still ran the suit though, So it's an
interesting thing. Sure, you gotta be less flashy in the

(51:31):
town in Gotham, it's fine. But out in the suburbs, no,
not as flashy exactly. But he does capture Victor. He
tells him, hey, you're gonna work for me, You're you're
part of this now. Essentially, as they try to hide
the body really fun thing was this is all over
in one night, where eventually he Victor have a good

(51:52):
back and forth of like they both for from the
same area, you know, coming up from nothing, you know.
I think at one point he does say, like, you know,
the Riddler's stuff really affected our type of people more
than you know, the rich and the wealthy, is what
was going after. But then they do dispose the body
in a car. At one point, Oz tells Victor turn

(52:14):
around the good sunrise sunset or sunrise, but he's like, no, no, no, no,
he have the crow bar. He gives him a stogy instead.
But then he says, you know, I'm gonna have to
kill you right now. It's the easy solutions. What I'm
gonna have to do. Getfelta fish is his word. By
the way, if you want to do the penguin accent,
which I can't wait to see what our accents become
of the penguin by the time this shows over.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
No, it's funny. I thought they were going to do
the thing for Grant Thoto where he killed somebody. He
put him in a trunk and he take him to
the car, the car compact and push him out.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Yeah, or something like that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
But then when when when he when he said turn
around because something like, oh god, dang, pick the wrong night.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
Yeah. But then essentially, you know, Oz keeps Victor throughout
the whole night of like they go to Lady of
the Night. I guess, I don't know. I mean, we
don't know where really so far, but to give Oz
an alibi. They then go back to Oz's house. He
gets a cup of water and then they're like, oh, yeah,

(53:11):
we gotta go back to work. We gotta act normal,
like nothing's happened here. They go to work. Oz is
doing is normal, like, hey, make sure you do this,
you know, blackmail this person. Oh that guy got shot
on his drop, we need to make dispose of him
and all this stuff. Then he's yeah, and then he's
called into the family's the house where then he asks
Victor essentially now being his driver, to drive him to

(53:32):
the Falcon's estate, mansion, whatever you want to call it, residency.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
And it was a palatial state. This is stuff you
make on a Sims speck in the day is how
Max's house was.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
But then so Oz is called and before he gets
out of the car to Victory says, you know, he
kind of jokes like I might not make out of it,
but then he doesn't finish the sense of what Victor
should do and just leaves.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
And it's like if I was like, what the hell
do I do?

Speaker 2 (54:00):
We come out, what do I do? But Oz comes
with the family. It is uh Vitty, Johnny Vitty, and
who the other guy I think was the other guy
who kind of like underlings but head underlings of Carmine Volconi,
kind of in charge temporarily because they don't know Alberto

(54:20):
is dead. They tell Oz, hey, you're gonna have to
shut down your operation. We're moving it all police are
closing in is where Oz says, hey, I have an
idea sealing the idea Alberta Falcone confessed to him about
of like, oh, we gotta sell this new drug. And
then all of a sudden, at the back of your eye,
Sophia Folconi pops up. Christine Mulatti just says, a white

(54:41):
ghost popping up, creeping up behind him, and like does
she know? Does she know? It's like, oh, she knows,
you find out later she knows Penguin's lying to her
about everything.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
And from the moment she walked in like basically out
of focus, behind the penguin, even out of focus, she commanded. Respect.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Yeah, and I think the cool thing is is.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
In the comics. I think are in ours. I know,
so Fia Falconi, I know we're kind of of like
long Halloween. She kind of just was part of the
falcony thing of like everyone's dying, I have to run
the family and stuff like that. And obviously there's a
follow up comic with her two, which gets her the
hangman status, uh that she already has in this. But

(55:21):
she Oz and her go out the lunch, they kind
of have this like, oh, we're friends, you know, I
got I'll do anything for you, blah blah. At the end,
they hug and she's like, now tell me the truth.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Do you know what happened to my brother?

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Because I told he and I were in on this
drug plan, you all of a sudden know it, eventually
leading to Oz taking a little vacation with Victor to
his mom's house and saying, hey, we got to go
somewhere and his mom one having dementia, but also the
same time like being like, you're an idiot, You're an idiot,
and kind of abusived Oz.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
To a degree.

Speaker 3 (55:53):
Yeah, because she says like basically like, we want to
so you did this at first? You want to do
was run mm hm, and she said the word we
will feel this podcast subscribe, but basically brings him back
saying no, no, no, If you want to do this, finish
the job because I didn't. Basically, I don't raise no plump.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
I don't raid no bitch.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Also real quick to Johnny Vintie was played by Michael Kelly,
who was also the guy that recruited the dude into
the intimate.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
He had a good year, good year for him, good year.
But eventually, Uh, This leads to Oz kind of off
screen coming up with a plan with Victor.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
I was like, hey, I trust I trust you to
do this and all this stuff, and like, okay, obviously
they have some sort of plan. Oz goes back into
town and he's going trying to go back to his place.
All of a sudden, he sees guys parked outside and oh, then.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
He sees Christine Mali.

Speaker 2 (56:48):
He's like, oh fuck, I get out of here. And
then we're gonna chase Purple car I saw my plump card.
There's no they'll miss me. Leads to a chase. Uh.
Eventually does get cornered because the streets blocked, and I
thought it was a fun thing of instead of him
running in the crowd, typically he hides in the trunk
before the guys get there and it looks like he's

(57:10):
almost out and then gets caught and he uses air
pure an air filter to stab a guy in the eye.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
The other thing that was funny about it because the
crowd you could hit us up undern umbrella, which is
a traditional penguin.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
Well, and that was the cool thing.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
His first scene in this was he was holding an umbrella,
So that's a cool thing.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
I forgot this kind of all come full.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Circle with umbrellas.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
But this does least we forgot to mention.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
Oz does have a foot injury, which causes him to
have a little wattle the limp uh, we see that
foot injury. His toes are smashed into his his foot
seat essentially, Yeah, one of that's.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
A that's an injury from being in that life.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
Or was he like born like yeah, I think they
showed they showed images of him as a kid and
he had the brace on, so yeah, who knows, but
it kind of is the relating point between him and
Victor is that he knows Victor has it has a stutter,
and so that was kind of the sympathizing point with
Oz and Victors, like, oh, you also have something going
on that the world makes fun of you for, which

(58:07):
is a cool little connecting piece for them. But Oz
is captured and his clothes are taken all off. You
see full Penguin, not full Penguin, but most of the Penguin.

Speaker 3 (58:20):
You see three quarters Penguin, three.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
Quarters Penguin essentially, Well, Christine Millat, sorry, Sophil Falconi has
interrogated him forgot to mention. Penguin does visit Salvator Maroni
to try to turncoat. He does have Carmines ring that
is actually Maroney's ring, gives it back to him.

Speaker 1 (58:39):
Well, Oz being tortured.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
We do see one of Victor's boys who tries to
rat out Penguin and he's like and soil Falcon, he
has like, you're willing to do whatever it takes if
it saves your own life and the risk of someone else,
because she shoots the other guy and Penguin doesn't care.
Oz doesn't care at all, you know, yeah, I should
go ahead, and I don't know that I didn't, you know,
he is, but then all of a sudden, you hear

(59:04):
a crash and with a horn turns out the exact
car that had Alberto's body was staged to crash into
their house with its head payback and so that the
Falcones believe that the Maroneys are starting in a gang
war but actually was staged by Victor Uh and that
Oz is released and essentially is kind of playing there

(59:27):
every side at the same time being his own side,
which is where I think it is really cool. Is
really see, like I kind of said before, these the
early seasons of Batman being crime based and then all
of a sudden, like it's pushed out of the way
for you know, the mega villains, which is cool.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
It basically he's doing kind of like like like a
dance puppet stamps and he's making one side play the
other side while he's playing like they playing both sides
and hopefully is it's a very dangerous game. But when
you think about it, either way he could die, yeah,
because if they found out he was him, he's dead, yeah.
Or he tries this and it's workings, but it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Is he is in the middle of egos that he
can play with that no one will because of their
own ego won't look into this or ask questions. And
then the episode does truly end with Penguin taking Victor
to go get slush puppies of all the flavors of
Tornado as we would want to call it PG wish,
and then it ends with Dolly Parton's nine to five.

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
You know it was exactly the workday. Yeah, a heck
of a workday over forty eight hours.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Essentially, I got new a point and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Yeah, but yeah, that's where the episode ends.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
We do, obviously get the cool thing is they have
the trailer and they do it's getting the Game of
Thrones effect of the directors talking about the show too,
So stick around after the credits for it. But it
looks fun. I think it really. I kind of text
you it is a slow build, but it is a
good a good show. So I'm hoping just those middle
episodes don't lapse, because sometimes that happens with the slow

(01:00:55):
build shows to give you the big payoff at the end.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
It was we saw a few shootouts in the in
the trailer, a couple of intense acting scenes, and I
feel like as long as Christ, as long as I
feel Collies on the board. Something crazy could happen in AMERICAUS. Well,
she is interrogating him, sitting naked in that chair.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
Sitting penguin naked in that chair.

Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
Her eyes went to a level of spooky that you
really see outside of like you know, graphic animation. It
was really really crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Yeah, excited predictions, Whise. It's really hard to do predictions
for this show. But Kevin, you did have something with Victor.
I think you said, I.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
Think eventually when a show ends, and if whenning, if
Penguin shows up in The Batman too, Victor is going
to be the Batman's informant. Somebody can squeeze easily because
he's kind of seen fear with with a gun pointed
by the penguin, but he hasn't seen the fear that
Batman controlls. When Batman will really break for your ear,
give me information, No, okay, five utes broken, give me information? Okay?

(01:01:56):
You know so I think and eventually that this guy
Ranns Phillip Pelice may have a larger role in The Batman. Yeah,
I mean I.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Think it'd be really cool is you have these like
I mean, no penguin will Polly pop up, but having
the side characters pop up even though don't have a
speaking role. I think it's cool and just includes it
more as like this is cannon of it is, you know,
Victor popping up.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Just in the side, sitting next to Penguin or something.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Or even depending on how the show goes, Sophia Valconi's
there too, depending on how the show goes. Is interesting.
I did mention that Alberta Volconi in the Long Halloween
turns out is turned out to be the Calendar Killer,
which leads all this killing leads to all the you know,
super villains popping up.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
It'll be interesting to.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
See how Matt Reeves and everyone who's involved with the
Batman epic crime saga handles that. Now, maybe it's just
kind of its own thing, and we've already had the Riddler,
and maybe the Riddler is the cause of everything instead.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Yeah, I could, like you said, this is a more
grounded universe. I don't expect we'll see a like a
a clay face.

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Or you know, we might.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
We might feel like even the Dark Knight was a
little bit more epic and fantasy like than the Batman was.
So whatever the next Ville is going to be, it's
going to be a down.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Haaven very early rumor because Matt Reeves responded to a
tweet quarter of Owls, Baby, that's what we need, Ivy
hype for Quarter of Owls will be real cool.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
His on trilogy. It doesn't really need need to be, like,
don't Quarter of Owls for how long? I don't know, two,
three and four.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
I played Gotham Knights Penguins in a lot of that,
So it's literally one of.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
The issues that comic ends with Batman being locked in
where that hall is under the quart of Owls and
just being driven crazy. So movie can end right there
and pick up him going crazy. And so yeah, Quarter
of Alves. Maybe that's the third it's the third one.
Maybe maybe maybe it's And then like we read kind
of like we were here the whole time.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
Like, oh that's that thing. It's now there.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
It never was a it was Riddler all along, but
that was the penguin.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
We'll be talking about that hopefully.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Well, I guess we got to wait a week ish now,
so Kevin might talk about that when he does a
stream next week.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
But we will be.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Back on Thursday from now until Agatha Along is over
because it comes out Wednesday nights, so.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
We'll be back next thurd this Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Talking about that. At the same time, Tokyo Game Show
will actually just be launching then too, so we'll talk
about all the cool things coming on that PlayStation might
have a big, big presence this year as well as
Death Training. To remember, the title of Death Training two
is on the Beach, On the Beach, On the beach, Will.

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
It be fun?

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
There might be parts, but it's.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Probably gonna be scared New York the beach you are
Speca Sandia, Speca sand is what Gojima wants you to think.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
It will definitely be Uh, It'll challenge your mental capacity
to comprehend.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
It, and you'll never want to go on the beach again.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Nope, Nope.
