Clint's the podcast Friday.

I was away brooked to the show by herself because
I once a year take the day off to DJ
my daughter's school disco. They're very young, my daughters. The
eldest one of is seven, youngest one is five. So
we're talking primary school disco.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
And is this an annual thing for you?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
You've watched them over the last couple of years do
the school disco scene?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, this is my third disco. I'm the resident DJ
for the school now.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
They like that you have clout.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
You see them getting dapped up as they're walking in
because their dad's like, that's pretty cool. If your dad's
like the run club coach, it's like, but if your
dad's a school disco.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Y'all, maybe yeah, and maybe, but for how long?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Like I think you're getting depped up? If your dad
is the DJ at the school ball.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I'd maybe give it a Yeah, year nine drop it.

Is your dad the DJ?

Why is he doing finger gowns?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
You know? It's still cool now.

It is my annual insight into what the kids are
listening to as well, because they send me a spreadsheet
beforehand where they go one of the classes and they
say what songs do you want the DJ to play at?
And then I get the list beforehand so I can
prepare some music for them.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
And sometimes I'm like, oh yeah, get that.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Obviously. The Taylor Swifts are always huge. Cat's Eye is
really popular at the moment as well. But then there's
some stuff they didn't expect. This year by far, the
most requested song by kids at the disco actually not
song artists, all of their songs. Michael Jackson, He's back

in a huge way, and every Michael Jackson song too.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Went off at the disco.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Dirty Dians, Oh no, not doing it. We didn't go
that deep.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
They should have got the Impostor to come not imposter.
What's isn't that like Astor.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Fersonated to come in as well? Oh my god, they
would have died.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I think it's because of the Michael Jackson movie.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It's just timeless. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
The kids also, and my daughters have just got into
this and it's quite cute.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
They've just got into imagine dragons.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
What is what do they put in imagine dragons songs
where kids are like versus margin.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
That genuinely surprises me.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
We're in the car the other day until he goes dad,
Could you please play some Imagined Dragons on Spotify because
I'm trying to become a fan.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
I'm trying. I'm forcing myself because it's it right now.
I mean easy. If they have good chuns, you can't lie.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
My wife is trying to convince them not to be
fans of Imagine Dragons so she doesn't have to listen
to it.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Of course.

Do you think it came from the Imagine Dragon's joke?
Because like Michael Jackson movie, the Imagine where is the
Imagined Dragons come from?

Then? Were they in like a big movie or.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
I mean the rude Imagine Dragons. Joe's not rude.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
It's just a It's just a funny little number that
I like to pull out.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
No, I don't think that's where the six year old's
got their Imagined dragons.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I mean the Michael Jackson Isn't that not on par.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Okay, the last couple of years, the big one has
been Travis Scotts.

Not this year. They're over Travis.

I played it and they were like, yuck, blame good
one unk.

The real revelation this year was AI music though. No, yeah,
and this is what I meant by concerning the music.
That is concerning that was coming through a lot of
the songs that were on the list. I was like,
I've never heard of that artist before, and so I
put it into Google and I had a look, they're
not real artists have listened to this. This is an artist, well,

not an artist. It's Ai called Palm saying.

That's not Cody Simpson.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
No. And the annoying bit.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Is very catchy and actually a bit of a banger.
This sounds like Simon cows like Claudia, if this was
five Sauce, we'd be into it, wouldn't We absolutely, But
it's not.

It's fake. It's not real, so we hate it.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
They know that.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Ay, they do not care.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
They could not They could not care because on the
other side of that their favorite song, all of their
favorite songs, And this is insane for people who don't
have kids.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
If you have kids, you're like, oh, duh, yeah, of course, But.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
If you don't, The most popular song with these kids
at the moment is a song called Chicken Banana Chicken, Chicken,
No Chicken, No, no, no no, and Claudia knows the
dance moves.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
I feel like every generation has their chicken. But we
had pin, Pineapple, Apple Pen.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
We had crazy Frog.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, and it just makes no sense to anyone else,
but just let it be.
