Speaker 1 (00:00):
You chapter. So we're playing at ZIMS Bring Clintons the
podcast Bad News from Brad pat Today, he's done an
interview with what it's a confession, I guess. He's done
an interview with Esquire magazine. He's done another hot boy
photo shoot where the dude's sixty two. Wow, and he

(00:20):
still looks fantastic.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Isn't every photo Brad Pitt takes a hot boy photo?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Pretty much? Yeah, I'm not one hundred percent sure if
he's got you know how every hot boy has their
ugly photo, like Harry Stiles has got a copy.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Sure, Angelina must have some ugly photos of Brad Pitt
for sure, deepen.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
And maybe that's what she's holding over him. He's admitted
that after seven years sober, he is back off the wagon.
In his words, he said life's been a bit hard
for him recently and he's no longer sober. It's no idea,
but he says he has under control. But it reminded
me when I read this today of a bold statement

(01:00):
made by you Broke about one of Brad Pitt's biggest
movies of all time yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, why did this?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah? I know, bad timing, Brook, but you know what you.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Said it before you knew this exactly, So that's not
on me.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
The statement that Brock has to make regards which movie.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
The nineteen ninety nine Brad pit film Fight Club.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
You know how much money you have in the bank.
You not the car you drive, You're not the contents
for your wallet. Cakis one of my favorite movies.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Oh, I didn't know that of all time.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
But that's not a unique statement. I think every man
my age has Fight Club as one of his favorite
movies of all time.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I think every man that I've been in an entanglement
with it's either fight Club, Interstellar, or something of brad Pets.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
It's a great selection of movies.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah, of course you'd say that my statement, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I'm dancing around it now.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I think Fight Club is definitely punching above its way
in terms of how much hype it got so over
hyped fight Club.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
You said fight Club overrated? Yeah, and you just thought
it for the first time over the weekend, didn't you.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I was forced.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I was forced to watch, and I watched the entire thing,
and I will say it's quotable, like I love the
you're not your khakis, Like it's a quotable movie.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
When I really sit with it and I go, what
about this movie?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Do I not like? After watching the movie, I was
physically exhausted.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
That movie is too much of everything.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
It doesn't give you a split second to think about
what just happened before moving on, and someone will be like, well,
get with it, keep up with it. It's a fast
paced movie. Let me think for a second about what's
just happened.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I get that. But just as you're trying to process
your thoughts, wham, they put meatloaf in front of you
with a giant set of titties.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And that's that's early on in the movie. And then
from there on it's just more and more and more
and more and more and more. It's a lot all
at once. It felt like a TV show crammed into
a movie. Like still a long movie, but could have
definitely been brought out to a TV show fight club.
It's controversial, and don't by the way, I don't text
nine six nine six saying first roll of fine Climb,
you know lad to talk about. If anyone takes that

(03:18):
through every text, I'm gonna punch you in the bicet.
I'm so sick of hearing me every it's just like
boys cling onto that quote.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
First role of fight Club, first role of the workpace,
don't pay for coworkers. Yeah, Okay, I don't agree with you,
but you're entitled to your opinion, and this happens from
time to time. You only just watched it for the
first time, and it's a very old movie by today's standards.
It's from the nineties. So do you think that maybe
it was just talked up so much that it could

(03:46):
never live up to the hype.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Because I think I missed that wave.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
It's not like another example of a movie that I
think that was overhyped, but I was here for the
hype was Long Legs. That was a movie that was
very like, oh my god, people are walking out of
the cinemas. This is great, and I went and watched it.
I was like, I think I went to the wrong,
wrong movie here. I think even if I've gotten less of.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
The hype Long Legs. Nicholas Cage, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Yeah, this came out a couple of years ago. Okay,
that's the movie that I was here.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Please don't compare fight Club to some random Nicholas Cage
movie that no one's ever heard of.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
No, people have heard of Long. I just think the room.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Claudia, you're a long Legs family.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I've never heard of it Long, never heard of the top.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Stop at everyone fight club though, he's well, it has
this notorious untouchable stop it.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
It's one punch, this untouchable umbrella that fight club is
be all in all, it's everything. Oh my gosh, it
answers everything. What they went down to the basement and
they went a couple of rounds.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Dude, spoilers, dud. Look, it's your controversial opinion, but you
believe fight Club didn't live up to the hype. So
this afternoon, we're going to create a safe space for
you to share the thing that you believe didn't live
up to the hype. We will not chastise you, we
will not criticize you. We may be shocked and surprised.
I want to be shocked and surprised. We may question you.

(05:06):
Ella has one to get the ball rolling.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I'm nervous to say it, but I stand by it.
The love over hyped. Oh wait, no, that's historically not true.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Didn't you.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I'm looking at a thousand statues.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
I'm honored and grateful to be here, but I think
I'd rather have done other stuff, just to check.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
You're talking about the museum in Paris where they keep
the Mona Lisa and not the song by Lord.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, okay, over hyped. Sorry, It's just like I can
appreciate art and good paintings, but it's a heavy foot gem.
Can you really busy?

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Can you appreciate.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Statues are boring?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I don't want to look at.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Some mint as your opinion when you're entitled to it
and we don't agree, but you are welcome to have it.
And right now we want to open the phone lines
to you.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
The ZDM podcast network on the same day that.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Brand Pet admits like that he's broken his Sobriety Brooke,
who's filling in for Bree comes out and says, and
you know what else, bread fight Club sucks.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Can we just revisit that whole hype Fight Club? Nah?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Not good.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
It's a hot take, and you have really divided people
with an opinion like that. Most people think that it's wrong,
You're wrong, and they've said next she'll be coming for
classics like top Gun.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I would never wake me up if I come for
a movie where Miles Teller has.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
His T shirt off.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Top gun original.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, but that's fine.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
I'm not going to come to Miles Teller was busy
not being born. Yeah, take me back, But you do
have some people who agree. Someone said Millennial here absolutely
hate Fight Club.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Can I just say I didn't say I hated it.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
It's just well over hyped, and I think it could
have just gone under the radar as another movie because
it is.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
So on the back of that. We've created a safe
space for you to come through and tell us, so
safe what you believe didn't live up to the hype.
It's not truly safe. Like Ali came swinging for the Louver.
That was crazy the Louver. The statement literally went, I
love art, but the Louver is overrated.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
It was.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
It was a little bit boring.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Sorry, it's okay, But can I just say, at least
she's saying something's overrated.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
That she's tried.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
You can have your opinion, but you can't come and
say tomatoes overrated.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Ive never tried a tomato, then you can't say it's overrated.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Powell, it's a good criteria. Rob's here, Hi, Rob, Hello,
Can you promise us you've tried the thing that you
believe is overrated. Okay, you're qualified, Rob, when you're ready.
What is the thing that, in your opinion, doesn't live
up to the hype Queenstown.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Localized hates the whole Queenstown. No, you're actually right. The
surrounding area is a gorgeous okay, Rob?

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Where do you live? Where do you love? Wellington? They
do have working sewage in Queenstown. I mean, well, we're
working sewage here. No, you don't pumping it straight in
the ocean, aren't you?

Speaker 2 (08:07):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
No, I guess it's a hot take. Is it because
it's so expensive? Is because of it's so full of terrorists?
Was the line at ferg Burger too long?

Speaker 3 (08:14):
That was it?

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Rob?

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Well? Fer Burgers are nothing burger? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Didn't? It was a burger?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Okay, you win twice, Rob, though once you go well overrated?
Going back twice? Rob, what were you just confirming that
it's overrated again?

Speaker 1 (08:31):
We flew the second time we flew into Queenstown, picked
up the rental car I went to now got the
hell out of it? Yeah right, I guess we respect
to you making a bold statement like Queenstown stuff flight club?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Okay, so you.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Don't have means to say whether it's overrated or underrated.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
You could be the deciding vote between Brooke and I
if you go and watch it.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah, I wouldn't not recommend to not watch it. It's
one of the things. It's kind of just like getting
you know.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Rock standing what you said, Okay, just got stand firm.
We asked you what is the thing that's overrated, and
you guys have not held back. Someone text her and
said Spice Girls and Dyson vacuum cleaners and the Sound
of Music. Wow, just let off three round papers, three
universally loved things.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
All the move. Okay.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
These are the most common movies coming through on nine
six nine six for overrated, Oppenheimer, The Barbie Movie, The
Barbie Movie, Will Condor Forever, Barbie, Deadpool, Wolverine, Lord of Rings,
anything A twenty four and Top Gun has come through
as over and saying.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Wow. Yeah, crazy to say a lot of the Rings
because you're objectively wrong. Like our country, our entire economy
pretty much exists off dairy and the Lord of the
Rings franchise. So you can say you don't like it.
M is it overhyped?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
That's all we've got. Take away The Lord of the
Rings and we've got no hype here.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Have you take away Lord of the Rings and Queenstown
would be like of nothing else. We said, what was
over hyped in your opinion? Someone said an Frank's hideout
there is unhinged. I don't think it's meant to be hyped.
I think it's meant to be like a place of reflection.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I've been there, thank you very much, and it was beautiful.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Well, okay, good. I thought you were about to come
in and say, no, the opposite.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Switzerland is highly overrated the country.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yeah, ma'am. If you don't like Queenstown, you're not going
to like Switzerland. Didn't you do Switzerland?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
It was beautiful people, very lovely, but they are very
straight to the point.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Very swist.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
So the leader kicked us out of the spa. What
were you doing in the spa? Wouldn't you like to know?

Speaker 1 (10:42):
I feel this one and Briy and I have said
this one. It's the Morducky Boulders. Yeah, if it's over
if we're talking about overhyped, they're just a bunch of rocks.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
I think we're in the different hyping regions because what
you're getting high that's not hype.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I've never been hyped to go see.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
They're meant to be like one of New Zealand's seven
natural wonders. And the way, how did these boulders get
on the beach? Was it aliens? Are they marbles from
an ancient civilization?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I'm always wondering how these these boulders gone on the beach?
You know what I mean? Someone said chocolate.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Or Wakers chocolate.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Liberty.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I won't stand for it. That's a great piece of
art hanging there.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
If you're not eating Whittaker's chocolate, what are you eating?
They said it all tastes like peanuts slab. Yeah, that's
the point.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I think the peanuts slab flavor of Wittigers tastes a
lot like the peanuts slab. Yeah's chocolate, But otherwise other
flavors don't taste.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
And someone said Auckland it has to be the shittiest
city in the country. Well, mate, have you been to Queenstown.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
I haven't met someone who's hyped up Auckland either, So
let's rat it just right.
