Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show requested.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
So here it is.
Speaker 1 (00:02):
As long as you've got da-da-dada. It's ZM's Brie and
Clint podcast. I see an Aspiro on ZM with Brie
and Clint. I've said everyone off in here.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
You did!
Speaker 1 (00:11):
I'm so sorry. Son of a bitch.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
I'm so sorry. It just crept up.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
We didn't even get started. Oh, okay. I hate this part.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I hate it.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
In this job, from time to time, you lose people
who are very important to you.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
You, effectively. We've had to do it a couple of
times in this job. And it gets harder every time,
I feel.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
One of those people is our producer, Ella, who is
finishing up with us today on the show.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Hi, Ella.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Hey. Sorry.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Oh, we haven't even started, have we? Oh, God. Ella
started with us on this show four years ago. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
She came to ZM as an intern. She was the
world's first secret soundkeeper to live on site because it
was in the middle of the COVID lockdown and so
we had her living in a box.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Outside the studio.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
For the secret sound.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
And it sucked for you. It was a hard job
and you did it and you've just gone from strength
to strength from there.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
And unfortunately, you've got two good and now you've got
a better job, so you're leaving.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Better? Yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
But it's really hard to leave this. A new opportunity.
It is time for the next chapter in your life.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Oh, shit.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Don't go. No, please.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Let's do the other stuff. I've written my stuff down.
We'll do the other stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Ella's got some things she would like to say.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah. I think you say what you want to say
and then Claudia's got something to play.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Why is Claudia sitting out there?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
What? Claudia, you weirdo, come sit in here with the
rest of us. I wouldn't be in here.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
God.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
It's like the family's all in the living room and
Claudia's sitting in the dining room.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
God's sake. Okay, Ella, the floor is yours, okay?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Okay. Well, I've written a little thing.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
I'll just read it and try not to cry. So,
thank you guys for the last four years for being
patient with me as I came in green-eyed, freshly 21
years old. Thank you for not kicking me out when
I air checked you guys on air.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
On the podcast.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
It was the first week. On Alice's first day, she
gave us feedback. That was really bad of me. It
was pretty brutal feedback too.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
We don't need to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
But no, I really feel like your first job after
uni is like such a formative time. And so five
years at ZDM and four years with you guys, it's
just been an absolute dream come true. I've learned so much.
You've allowed me to, I guess, learn and make mistakes and,
I've learned to share my own opinions and to have
my own voice and to critically think. We joke, I'm
(02:36):
a little bit dumb. I didn't know a magpie was
a bird, but anyway.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
You do now.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I do now.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
And then I just wanted to say as well, Bree,
I just love you. I love your humour. I love
your creativity, your ability to not only make people feel
like to laugh, but to feel so comfortable in themselves.
And you just have that special connection with people. And
I instantly... bonded with you straight away and that was
the biggest quality I saw in you people see you
on TV and on the radio and then you're just
(03:04):
like a genuinely cool person in real life and a
friend and I'm so honoured to call you that me
too Clint I'm not going to lie when I first
started working here I was a bit scared of you
but it turns out I think I was intimidated from
that mana you just ooze you know you hold yourself
(03:26):
so well You are so strong in everything you do,
from being a parent to a friend to your job.
Not everyone can do what you do. You do the buttons,
but you're also telling a story. You're also reading text.
You're trying to make it funny all at once and
in an appropriate amount of time, right?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Before it's like songs. Thank you. Yeah, you nail it.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
And I just love seeing you be a dad. I
don't know, something about it. I love hearing about it.
And it is a real joy to come to work
and hear that. That's enough.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I know you hate those. Yeah, they'll do.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Thanks, Ella.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
And then quickly, Claudia, this is a really hard goodbye.
We've sat next to each other literally for the last
four years.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Every day.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Every day. We've been highs, there's been lows, there's been
everything in between, but you've become one of my closest friends.
I've learned so much from you. I'll miss our daily
laughs and our chats and my burping and farting in
the room and you yelling at me. But it's genuinely,
I feel like really sad, but it's not a goodbye.
It's literally, I'll see you soon. You know, it's going
(04:27):
to be different, but we're like literally besties. It's going
to be okay.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
But yeah, thanks guys.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
I love everyone here.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Claudia has put something together for your last day. And
what are we calling this? Ella's greatest hits? Yeah, basically, yeah.
The life and times of Ella.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Hi, Ella. Hey, Ella.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Hey, Ella.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Hey, Ella. Hey, Ella. Hi, Ella.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Hey, Ella.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Oi, who's on you?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
You little flea.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Goodness, he's up my arse.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
I'm going to get you, you mother.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Ella.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Oh, no, this is going to stump me.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I love this song.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Viva La Dita, Viva La Dita, Coldplay.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
No, no. No way, not Viva La Vida. Viva La Vida.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
No!
Speaker 1 (05:13):
You get it yet?
Speaker 2 (05:13):
This is it.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Viva La Viva. She is Mr.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Fantasy's long lost daughter. Hello! Oh my gosh, Daddy Fantasy! Me,
your long lost daughter. If me and you can like
reunite and meet. I think I'm Olive. You think you're Olive?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah. Clint's got two.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Oh my goodness, he's up my arse.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Stop!
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Oh, my gosh, Soundkeeper Al.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Intern Soundkeeper Al. What's that short for?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Internship?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
No, your name.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Ella, did you know that one? I knew people live
in Egypt. No, Ryan's uncle.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Lives in Dubai. That's not Egypt. That's nowhere near Egypt.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Ella, are you there?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, I'm there. Hi.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
You're in the chocolate aisle?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
It looks to be quite a shock surprise.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
They said it's going up and all I can see
is a sale on a Whittaker's chocolate. Me and myself
and I are gobsmacked.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
You're a whimp!
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah!
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Chewbacca in the producer's booth today. I can actually do
a good one. Do you want to hear it? Yeah, go.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
On.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Do you know what character we're talking about?
Speaker 4 (06:18):
You're telling me that our mid-twenties producer Ella may currently
have a bigger brain than me.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I would say that's probably right, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
It's obvious, isn't it?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
My wit, my charisma.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Thank you. You never ask my name.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
That's my first swear word ever.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Am I going to get fired?
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Doriel, beep it.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
You and me, Clint, producer Claude, producer Ella, we're a
tight-knit fam. We'll miss you.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
And scene. That was good. Thank you. And scene.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
That's so, it sums up, like it sums up how
close our team is. I've written a little something to
send you off, Ella, and if you will just let
me read this out for you. When Ella first started,
she was a kid and somehow over the years we've
had the absolute privilege of watching that kid grow into
(07:13):
this incredibly strong, kind, talented woman. And we couldn't be
prouder of you and the person that you've grown into.
You had this real special energy about you. You have
the ability to walk into a room and somehow make
it feel lighter.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
You lift people up.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
You make people feel seen, heard, valued and loved.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
And I don't think you will even.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Realise that you do that for people, but you've done
that especially for me on more than one occasion. So
I'm jealous of the next people that get to have
you in their lives because And I just want to
raise a toast here to Ella, to everything that you've
achieved here, everything you are, and everything that's still ahead
of you.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
We love you.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
That's really special.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Thank you, Bree. We love you and we're going to
miss you, Ella.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Bye. I'm going to miss you guys.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Well, not this song.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
No more tears.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
No more tears. We're going to the pub. Yeah, more margaritas.
No more tears.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
