Manifesting a Radio Awards win by practising our speeches

It's been a 7-year losing streak but maybe that's about to end. We don't want to get caught short on the night so just in case we're practising our acceptance speeches. Wish us luck!

Because I just remembered it's my parents winning anniversary today
and it's my sister's birthday on Friday. So I think
I've got tomorrow's spare okay, and my brain slots.

Gotcha, Yeah, gotcha. It is the biggest day of the
year in terms of the radio world, where we all
get together and we get glammed up and we go
along to the awards and they.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
No matter what show you listen to on New Zealand Radio,
they'll be there tomorrow at these awards, which is kind
of cool and hopefully nominated for something.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
No matter what show you listen to tomorrow, they will all
be dusty.

Speaker 1 (00:58):

I don't know how hard they're going.

Not gonna lie. Though we have lost many, many times.

We're trying to work out the exact number. Yesterday we
believe it's seven losses in a row in our category.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
It might be a record actually in New Zealand radio.
And so tomorrow we are going for our eighth loss.
Straight wait, straight. But I did have this thought driving
into work today. What if for some reason, a miracle
happens and they decide to change up and we win?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Right, stranger things, I'm listening, and we win.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Here's the thing. All of us in the Brian Clint shown,
none of us are going to be expecting a win,
So none of us are going to have a speech prepared,
which is how you want it. The last thing you
want to do with one of these things is pull
out a piece of paper and read it off about.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Would be eight years old, because it's been in my
suit jacket pocket for eight years.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
As soon as you do that, it just goes to
show that you thought you were going to win. So
right now, I'm going to hold an audition for Clint,
Claudia and Ella to be our mouthpiece.

Speaker 2 (02:30):

Do win, we have to give an acceptance speech exactly.

And I just want to see. And this is why
I haven't told you guys about this, because it's going
to have to be on the fly. So we've got

the music will play and then you will make your
way up to the mic and the music will fade
down a little bit, and you'll have about twenty thirty seconds. Okay, sure, yeah, right,
