CDMs Bree and Clintic podcast.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I overheard the producers talking the other day about cir
lies that they believed in their childhood. Okay, and one
that Claudia shared is so funny and so ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
But you believe this lie when you were a kid,
I fully believed it.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
So what happened was I must have been i'd say eight, okay,
little and we were like it was lunchtime. We were
out on the playground and my friend was like, guys,
I want to teach you a song like the song,
and she really implied that she wrote it, and I
was like, great, yeah, of course you did.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
My god, your eight year old friend wrote a song. Yeah,
And I'm like sure.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
And then she went through the lyrics and she was
like he was a boy, she was a girl. And
I was like, yeah, those are like you know, an
eight year old could write those lyrics. She's like, can
I make it any more obvious? And I was like yeah, basic,
basic lyrics, so fine.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
He was a punk. She did ballet and I was
like that checks it, Yeah, that all chicks out.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
And then it wasn't until i'd say a week later
when I was like, probably listening to Zidiom to be honest,
driving around in the car, and then the song comes
on the radio and I've realized only in that moment
she didn't write that song everri Levin did.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
She got good though?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Did she think did she think that she had packed
some underground song that no one else was ever going
to hear.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Or maybe I was the idiot and I just was like, yeah,
she so wrote.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
The song.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Amazing, or maybe she's just a compulsive liar. You know,
some people just I remember when I first started working
at a certain radio station. I was very young, and
there was another guy who started there, and he was
very young, and he was clearly just trying to impress people.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
But you know, people just go way too far. What
did he do?

Speaker 2 (06:41):
He was he was telling us about a what's a
polite way to say this at this time of day,
a menagetire that was happening basically every weekend. How old
was he he was eighteen?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
What a liar? Every weekend he would come.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Into the opposite but would be like, how was your weekend?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
But pretty good, man, pretty good? Another one? But where
are you whatever? Man? Where anyway?

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah, it reminds me of that scene from the movie
of the forty year Old Virgin and then they're all
sitting around talking about women, and then he's like, yeah,
and then her and then her boobs, you know, felt
like a bag of sad of sands, like a bag

(07:29):
of old soup. And they all looked at him and
they were like, you've never touched a booth before in
your life?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Hell, have you gonna lie that you were told as
a child?

Speaker 6 (07:39):
Yeah, and this is like a grudge of held on
for years. My grandma's neighbor the head kids, so we
were friends, same age, and she was like, my school's
cool and different. I would I only go to school
on the weekends and the weekdays are my school's weekends.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
And I'm like, that's crazy, so jealous, like backwards world.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yeah, and I'm so annoyed.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
One she lied until I believed that little weasel.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Where did the kid live? All right? So it was
far enough away then it was plausible that you could
be like, oh my god, what.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Sounds so good? Literally, you're so jealous. Mom? Could I
go to her? She was like, heaven.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I remembering at Georgia Pie one time and my cousins.
I guess I look back on it now it was
just gaslighting. But they had, you know how sometimes your
parents would get you water instead of the fuzzy drink,
And like Georgie Pie or McDonalds or whatever, we all
got water and they sit there and they went ours
is lemonade, and I was like, no, it's not you
got water, just like men like, no, we did it. No,

(08:45):
it's lemonade. Do you want to try it? And I
was like, you were obviously yes, And I had some
and it was clearly water. But they were all and
they were like, oh my god, can you not taste
the lemonade? They stuck with it the whole time. It's water,
and they're like, oh my god, you're such a loser.
It's lemonade.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Let us try yours. It's a great gag.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
That's water. Yours is water, but ours is lemonade.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I love that gag. It's a great gag.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
I had another friend in primary school who decided to
tell me that they managed to get to the end
of a rainbow.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
They saw a rainbow and they walked up to such
a good lie and they walked through it and they
got covered in rainbow.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Do that?

Speaker 5 (09:30):
I didn't understand why the rainbows in rainbow?

Speaker 2 (09:36):
That's when Claudia started chasing the rainbow. We want to
know the childhood lie that you believed. Was it told
you by another kid? Were they from out of town?

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Was it told to you by.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
A family member? And you knew it was bull crap?
But they just doubled down so hard that you couldn't
never prove it.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Or maybe you didn't realize and later on in life
you've been like, wait a second. I went to high
school with this girl who legit it would die on
the hill saying that her family owned the theme park
movie World. Oh that's a good one to her family
was really wealthy, and so it was believable. But to
this day, I still don't even I'm like, I don't

(10:14):
think that's true.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
But the ket who tells you his family owns the
McDonald's in town, which I mean that one's more plausible.
It could be true because they're franchised, whereas Movie World.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Is a theme park.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Oh, four hundred dollars in him or you can tax
it to nine sex nine sacks.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
So when I know the lie that you were told
as a kid, did you believe it is? Right?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Now, we're talking about lies you got told as a kid,
and you realized at the time it might have been
a lie, or maybe.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
You bought a hook line and sinker.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
The best version we've had so far as the cred
at Crudias Score, who tried to convince her that she
wrote skater Boy stone cold straight faced, you know I
wrote that.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yes, wow, cool?

Speaker 2 (11:03):
So it was a lie you got told Joe's here,
Hi Joe, Hi Joe.

Speaker 7 (11:06):
Hey yeah, first of all, long time listener, first time callers.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
We got another one.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
And it's not necessarily my life. It's a lie. I
told my girls.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Oh okay, you're the liar, Joe.

Speaker 7 (11:25):
Yes, so I told my girls. We live in Napier
and we've got pan Pac across the way. We can
see it, okay, And obviously it creates big clouds of smoke.
And I always told my girls that's the card machine,
that's what creates clouds, etc. They believe me. When my
daughter was about sixteen, she was at the beach with
her friends and she looked over and she's like, oh,

(11:45):
look there's the cloud machine making the clouds today. And
they were like the what now. I was just like,
you know, it's a cloud machine. She came home she's like, Mum,
I'm so embarrassed. Why did you not even tell me?
And I was like, did you not learn.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
That in spide Sixteen years? Mum, sixteen years I've been
bagging on about the stupid cloud machine that you invented.
That's actually good, that's actually good stuff. So good. Yeah,
we're like very good.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
There's a good bit of stand up from a guy
who spent his whole life telling his kids that it
was pronounced karmalay.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yes, I've seen it.

Speaker 8 (12:18):
Yes, it's really good because it's such a long it's
such a long burn, because it's not until they leave
home and they're in a situation and they non ironically say,
and then someone goes, wat, should I make some gua karmalay?

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Some what guacamole? No? No, what's that I'm going to tell?

Speaker 4 (12:34):
I'm going to tell my unborn child that a napkin
is actually called a bathtowel?

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Do you have a bathtwel? I just want to wipe
my face.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Andrea's here, Hi Andrea, Hi Andrea. Why what's the lie? Andrea?

Speaker 9 (12:49):
Well, when I was a kid, my parents made me
believe that I could magically unlock and lock the car
because central locking had only just been invented.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
That's a week. Did you feel powerful, Andrea?

Speaker 9 (13:06):
I thought that I was truly magic.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
You would have thought you were like Matilda. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Well you have your sleeve. You can do it to
your own kids. Andrea.

Speaker 9 (13:18):
Well, the thing is now you can touch the Karen,
I'm lock and lock it.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
And I mean, who knew that one day you'd be able.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
To Oh yeah, yeah you got Keyla's entry. Now, Yeah,
good stuff. Thanks, Andrea's go to Melbourne.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
I'm I'm out Hi. How you doing good? Thanks? Mail?
Tell us what was a lie you got told as
a kid?

Speaker 9 (13:36):
When I was a little kid, my dad told me
and my brothers and my sister that there was a
secret number between nine and ten and it was called
oh that it was a Z O R T H. Yeah,
and it was a government secret and you weren't allowed
to tell anyone, so we thought it was so cool.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
So you were harboring you were harboring the secret everyone else.
And when you're sitting there in class and your teacher's
like a seven eight nine breath ten.

Speaker 9 (14:07):
Yes. And I didn't realize it was a lie until
I was going to intermediate school and I was asking
someone else about.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
You didn't share the government secret, did you?

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Mail?

Speaker 9 (14:17):
I did, and I was in a lot of trouble.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, what Mal, should you be talking about this on
the radio?

Speaker 9 (14:24):
Probably going to be they're going to come after me.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, we don't hear from you tomorrow mail, Mal Yeah, Mal, Mel, Now.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Mel, she's gone, No, just kidding me. Put you on.
You're still there, right, Mel? Again? Lies that you believed
as a kid. When I was little, my parents told
me that toffee pops were called coffee pops and we
couldn't have any because they had coffee in them. That's genius. One,

(14:56):
there's genius. That is genius.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Remember how my mom told me that the stuff that's
in your eye, she told me that it was called sleet.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Yeah, but there wasn't a lie. That was what she believed.
It's not a lie if she believes us.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yeah, she only recently learned that it was called sleep.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Dylan tixted and said, when I was five, my friend
tried to tell me her uncle was Michael Jackson. That's
a classic. That's a classic. That one about this.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
My mum told me that plasters on the face were
not allowed, like I thought that it was illegal, and
then someone came to school one day with one on
their forehead and I was shookth she.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Just didn't want you to look like Nelly's. Yeah, my
dad used to tell us we couldn't have a pit
cat because it was too cruel to keep a cat
in the suburbs and they needed lots of space to roam.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Genius about this.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
A girlfriend of mine when we were ten years old
told me that her grandmother was a famous Hollywood star.
I didn't believe her, but it turned out to be true.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Oh, she'd had.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
An affair with the Kiwi man and her mother had
lived in Hole would and in New Zealand her whole life.
When the when the star passed away, it was written
up in the paper.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Wow, I need to know who the star was? Yes, please,
who was it? Imagine if it was Helen Miron or someone?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Was she still alive?

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Oh, it has to have to Marilyn Monroe.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Marilyn me And when me and my sister were younger,
my parents told us that we had two older siblings
called Fiona and Rebecca, but that they were naughty, so
they buried them in the back garden, and anytime we
were naughty, they would remind us about Fiona and Rebecca
and the back garden. And my sister and I believed
it for years and years until we realized that it

(16:40):
might not be true.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Parenting has evolved has about.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
That is that is borderline psychopathic?

Speaker 4 (16:48):
This one's this one's in the same realm, it says,
Oh my god, my mum used to tell me that
there was a lady called missus Winter who would come
and get me if I was naughty. I believed it
and was terrified that she was coming to get me.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
That's bad. But for your parents to convince you that
they murdered your two older siblings and buried them in
the garden for being naughty.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Yeah, it's pretty hectic, that is, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I bet it works though they were kicking off roof
Yeah yeah, but what do you roll it out for? Like,
do you roll it out when the kids are fighting?
Or do you use it when they just won't eat
their peas?

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Or something like how miss like badly behaved? Were you get?
You know where your parents had to come up with
that story?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
And has anyone checked the bat garden too?

Speaker 1 (17:34):
What if it's true? Don't don't check? Oh no, don't check.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Check way to your parents die and then check, and
then check. There's the only safe thing to do.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Time for the tea is the tea?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Anybody watched the Robert Pattinson Batman movie?

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Nope?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
No, I mean neither did any of you guys? Watch it, sure,
but NA, no, I'm not. I'm not opposed to it,
but I didn't see it.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
What were our thoughts and feelings on Robert Pattinson getting
the role of Batman.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
I like him as Batman more than I liked Ben
Affleck as Batman.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Yeah, there's been some interesting picks for Batman over the years.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I feel real anti Batfleck, and again I didn't watch it.
I feel like Christian Bales Batman was so good that
it kind of ruined it. It's kind of like Daniel
Craig's James Bond. It's going to be so hard to
be James Bond after him.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
So wait, what you're saying to me, is Daniel Craig
is James Bond?

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah for me? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
And Christian Bale as Batman is yeah, of course, yeah, yeah,
I mean and Toby maguire is Spider Man.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Well naturally.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
I didn't mind George Clooney as Batman either.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Didn't he have the nipples in the batsuit? With the nipples,
I quite liked it anyway. But Robert Pattinson is currently
shooting The Batman Part two. He is going to be
Batman again. He is still Batman.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Is that what It's called Batman Again?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
No, No, that exists.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Batman Again number two.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
The Batman Rises. No, it's called The Batman Part two.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Oh great name.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Yeah, he's back at people who have said that he's
not ripped enough to play Batman.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Robert Pattinson, he did an interview with GQ magazine and
he said, everyone's like, you didn't work out at all
when you.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Were Batman last time, and he said, I did. I
worked out every day, and even after that, I still
looked like I didn't work out. I worked out twice
a day.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
I was getting up at three o'clock in the morning
to do my first workout.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
I feel like in today's day and age, there's unrealistic
standards now because the standards you're thinking are where it's
at is from steroids, steroids and other different things to
help that person look like that.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
It's not a natural human body.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Low. No, Hugh Jackman's nah, because.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Back in the first time he played Wolverine, which he
was Hugh jacked there's huge Jackman. If you go back
and look, he looked quite natural. And then there was
another movie you did where.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
He got on the rules.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Yeah, And now it's just unrealistic because no normal human
man looks like that.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Naturally they leave Robert alone.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
That's all you're saying is I should get on the ryds.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Yes, that's exactly.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Why have similar age to when Hugh Jackman got on
the roids.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
If you want to put your heart under some more
immense stress, then you get on those.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Four coffees and some roids' that would be good for me.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
That'll make you live longer podcast.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
There's a story today about a lady in Hamilton who
has been bombarded with calls from dick collectors, court notices
and angry texts because she got given the old phone
number of someone whose business collect aaps owing people money.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Does that happen in New Zealand? Do they recycle numbers?
They do?

Speaker 2 (21:05):
I think when you I think when you disable your
sim card, it all goes back into like a big
really and then you go there and there because there's
only so many phone numbers, right, Otherwise the phone numbers
would just keep getting longer and longer and longer.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
The lady's name is Angeline, and she even had one
message from someone yelling at her telling her that she
owed them eleven thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Wow, worst number to get secondhand, She says, that's.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Been going on for years. I don't understand why she
hasn't gone and got another number.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Change your number.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Hey, this number sucks, Yeah, gives me a bit of it.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
But look what the messages are that I've been getting awful.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Classic move from the guy who owes money though, to
just disconnect his phone number. Yeah, like, oh, well, can't.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Reach me, start again with a new number, can't reach me,
can't charge me? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
I when I lived in America for a couple of years,
I obviously got a phone number over there, and they
do the same thing.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Like in America, they recycle.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
All the numbers and there's so many more people, so
that happens quite often. And I remember the number that
I got. I kept getting texts from this same person
and then they would call me quite often, and it
ended up being like a really good friend of the
person that owned the number before I did, and we

(22:27):
became friends, Like we would text quite often. Oh really, yeah,
me and the person that was friends.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
That's kind of weird.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Well, what happened was is.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Their friend moved, I believe overseas somewhere to the Bahamas
or somewhere.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
And the friends they were like, well, do you want
to be my friend? I don't know.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
We were a similar age, like both girls in our twenties.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
God breathe, this is how people get murdered. Okay, God,
stop making friends with randos who ticked to you.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
It's a twenty two year old woman. It's not some
Russian spy. How do you know? How do you know?
Because we talked on the phone. I can tell by
her voice.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Because we met in a dark alley. She said it
was the safest place anyway. I remember going to I
remember going to a flat. There's not a phone number version,
but I remember going to look at a flat one
time and the flat had a really weird vibe and
all of the rooms had showers in them, but not
in bathrooms. And we were leaving the flat viewing. One
of the flat mats was coming back who was leaving

(23:31):
the flat, and they said, hey, don't get this flat.
It used to be a brothel and people still come
here late and Sunday actually every night and a knock
on the door thinking that it's still a not ideal
in one of those places. I thank you for the

(23:51):
heads up now the showers in the rooms make sense.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah, the madam was the head tenant, there wasn't she.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
I want to hear from people this afternoon who have
someone's phone number and they still get their messages, and
what are the messages like? Or maybe someone who lives
in an address who still gets visitors or packages for
the person who used to have that.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Bet you definitely don't open them. Or do you have
a car that used to belong to someone and it
still gets recognized as that person's car and people are
like and then they pass you in traffic, they're like, oh,
that's not who I thought. They look different. The ZM
podcast network.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Haven and I Run from ZM with Brian Clint.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
She's having a little sing along in the studio.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Oh we heard and you turned the mic on when
I was not looking too bad.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
There's a lady in the news today because she's got
someone's phone number, and the person who had the phone
number before they owe people a lot of money, and
so she's getting all of their text going where's more money.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
I've just thought of the best scenario. Yeah, imagine you
moved to lay, you get a number, Yeah, and you
slowly start to realize the person who owned the number
before you, famous Hollywood movie star.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Everyone messaging you and calling.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
You, inviting you to parties, hate.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Blanche Channing, Tatum, Tom Cruise, Amazing.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
You show up to the party and they're like, why
are you here? It's a great idea for a TV show?

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Why are you here?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Bree, Oh, it's a great idea.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
And you're like, well, I got this text and they're
like and you.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Come, well you're here now. We want to be cool.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
We want to know whose phone number or whose address
or whose car have you got? And what do you
still get message wise or visitor wise?

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Because of it?

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Rene's here, Hi, Renee, Hi, Renee?

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (25:40):
What do you got? Renee?

Speaker 9 (25:42):
So I'm in Hamilton too. I feel like I got
this lady's like house as opposed to her phone.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
Oh okay, tell us Renee every other name.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
And people who are like dick collectors and stuff. Yeah,
they come.

Speaker 10 (25:57):
They're so aggresives.

Speaker 7 (25:58):
They come to the door and they're you know, trying
to don't make me to go.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
To court and pay all this money, offering me payment plans.

Speaker 7 (26:04):
I just listened to the house like a month ago.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Like it's not me, guys, leave me alone.

Speaker 7 (26:10):
Yeah, it's ridiculous, and.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
They say that's what a criminal would say. Let us
think I'm blinding, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 7 (26:18):
I don't believe you're just most here because that's the address.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
It sounds like you may have this guy's older dress.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
Next minute, we see Renee on that TV show Operation
Repo's like honestly.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Seven and she's like, you've got the wrong house again.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
I'm not involved in this.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Abby's here, Hi, Abbey, Hi Abby, Hi. Your partner's getting
someone else's text messages.

Speaker 7 (26:43):
Phone calls as well for the last three years.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Okay number, Yeah for who.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
So they're looking for paul a lot of different people.
I think she owes a lot of different money for
it to a lot of different people.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Was it paul or Paula Paula.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Paula?

Speaker 7 (27:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (27:02):
At first, were you a little bit like, who's this
bee Paula?

Speaker 2 (27:07):
And why are they calling your phone looking for her?

Speaker 1 (27:11):
A little bit till it was like, oh, she owes money,
and yeah, right, yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
You know whose phone number it would be? Probably be
Paula Bennett. Yeah, she she borrowed. She borrowed a couple
of hundie off me.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Yeah, a few years.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Ago, and she goes, I'll pay you back. I'll pay
you back. Never saw her again.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
And she still owes you that fight, doesn't she does?
She said, she said any time, anywhere place.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Yep, that's what she said.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I once had a landline that was one digit off
a different real estate agent's fax number that was no
phone annoying. If you remember how faxes used to work,
your phone would ring and you'd pick up the phone, Hello,
and all you'd hear.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Is faxing this one.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
I used to get people phoning and placing takeaway orders.
I'd repeat their order back and say ready in twenty
to thirty minutes. Twenty to thirty minutes later, I get
an angry phone call.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
That's so funny.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
I had to get a new number because I kept
getting calls asking about adult services. I was thirteen with
my first phone. Oh no oh no oh no oh.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
No new phone number.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
My partner gave his old iPhone to his brother to
use for a while, and it was still somehow sync
to the iCloud. Oh, and he kept receiving eye messages
of his brother and cousin talking about how they don't
like me.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Oh, that's awful. You'd rather just be oblivious to it.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
No one knows how the iCloud, the I message, or
the iPhoto system works. Nobody knows. This is what you
need to do. Once you finished using a phone, you
need to snap it in half and throw it in
the ocean.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
One hundred.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
That's the only way to prevent someone else from getting
all of your photos and all of your missings.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Like, I know people don't like me and they talk
shit about me, but I don't need to read it
or hear it. If someone came to you and said,
I will give you ten million dollars, but for the
rest of your life and since you were born, you
will know every bad thing that someone has said about you,

(29:27):
and you can never get away from the like you
just it'll be in your brain every time someone says
something bad about you, you hear.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
It, but you get ten million dollars.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
I've got to be honest with you. It's tempting. Yeah,
it's tempting because for ten million dollars, I mean, if
anyone won't ever see anyone again.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
If anyone's ego can stand up against that, it's yours.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah, because you're just saying mean shit about me, and
I've got you're ready.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
This circumstance ever comes up? Wait what people are saying
about me?

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Good stuff? Really like they said that Clint guy is
so tenned and good looking for his age. Oh that's right,
let's ten million dollars. Boom If that ten million dollars

(30:21):
good looking for his age.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I just choose to hear the first part of that sentence.
To hear the first part.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
It's d it ms brilling Clint podcast.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Let's play Google Down? Do you feel lucky?

Speaker 10 (30:36):
Well?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Do you? It's time for brillan Clint Google Down punk?
All right?

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Who's ready for a good old fashioned game of Google
Down where I put you guys to the test to
see who is the fastest Googler. And you're playing along
for people listening.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Me me, me, me, me, me, pick me, me, put
me on coke.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Please me el what about you? Nah? Okay me? All right?
You are playing for people stakes.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I will ask you the question I've put into Google
first person to deal out the correct answer.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
When's the point? First to three? Takes it home? Are
we ready? I'm ready? Question number one?

Speaker 4 (31:21):
How long has Ryan Gosling been married to Eva Mendez.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
Years?

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Four years? Roughly?

Speaker 1 (31:35):
No, it's not all.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Of you are back, I'm going to not give it
to anyone. Three and a half. What is what I
got when I put that question into Google?

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Okay, been together, I didn't do the marriage?

Speaker 5 (31:49):
One said roughly four years is not three and a half.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Question number two, if Ella didn't win the Viva Laedida?

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I think yesterday I can't be given out. Finally some
justice on the show Loose Loose Guesses. Here we go.
Question number two, who invented water balloons?

Speaker 6 (32:13):
Edgar Allington?

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Well done? Who's that?

Speaker 4 (32:17):
Edgar Illington? Is the answer I was looking for. Apparently
it was an accident. What which a lot of inventions.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Comes back to create tiny cundoms?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
You stand by that joke?

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Yes, I liked it. And hasn't Clinton benefited from that?

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Question number three? How much?

Speaker 4 (32:39):
How much money did the animated film Finding Nemo make
in its first weekend at the box office?

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Seventy point two million? Locked end Baby seventy million? Is
the answer I was looking.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
Fords okay sharp today?

Speaker 2 (33:03):
No, I haven't any.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
I had a Barocco earlier. What it is?

Speaker 4 (33:09):
So today it's not working for Meca barely Noah. Question
number four, what is the most expensive Pokemon card in
the world. Claudia and Clint are both out me leaving
the door wide.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Open for Ella Pikachu illustrated down the Pika Tree Illustrator.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Which Logan Paul was the owner of, and it's sold
at auction, I believe last year for sixteen point four million.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
JT.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
You wouldn't believe it, but Ella has just gone in
one you fifty KFC chicken.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Dollars perfect the daughters.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Yeah yeah, JT.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Victory.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
That was a clean victory.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Well do oh man? Are you happy with that? Bloody?
I'm going to skip home happy. Maybe not in the dark.
Maybe not if it's so you've got to go over
the harbor bridge. Yes, swim shall go the long way around.
I'm not happy.

Speaker 6 (34:08):
I might write a unicycle.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
As it ms brin Clint Podcast.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
Something big going down tomorrow, guys. Can anyone remind me Clint?
What's on tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
New Zealand Radio Awards. Correct, the New Zealand Radio Awards.
Thought it was your birthday or something. The look on
Clint's face, he kind of went.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Because I just remembered it's my parents' winning anniversary today
and it's my sister's birthday on Friday, So I think
I've got tomorrow's spare in my brain slots.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Gotcha, yeah, gotcha.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
It is the biggest day of the year in terms
of the radio world, where we all get together, we
get glammed up, and we go along to the awards and.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
They no matter what show you listen to on New
Zealand Radio, they'll be they'll be there tomorrow at these awards,
which is kind of cool and hopefully nominated for something.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Not no matter what show you listen to tomorrow, they
will all be dusty from the awards.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
It may be the Life FM guys. Oh yeah, yeah,
I don't know how hard they're going.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
Look a little bit of background around this show. When
nominated again this year, which is great, as we say,
good to be nominated, Happy to be nominated.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
It's a blessing, what an honor.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
Not gonna lie though we have lost many, many times.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
We're trying to work out the exact number.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Yesterday we believe it's seven losses in a row in
our category.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
It might be a record actually in New Zealand Radio.
And so tomorrow we are going for our eighth loss
straight hat straight.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
But I did have this thought driving into work today.
What if, for some reason, a miracle happens and they
decide to change up and we win.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Right, stranger things, I'm listening and we win.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
Here's the thing, all of us in the Brien Clint Show,
none of us are going to be expecting a win,
so none of us are going to have a speech prepared,
which is how you want it. The last thing you
want to do with one of these things is pull
out a piece of paper and read it off about
eight years.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Old, because it's been in my suit jacket pocket for
eight years.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
As soon as you do that, it just goes to
show that you thought you were going to win. So
right now, I'm going to hold an audition for Clint,
Claudia and Ella to be our mouthpiece.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
In case we.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Do win, we have to give an acceptance speech.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Exactly, and I just want to see. And this is
why I haven't told you guys about this, because it's
going to have to be on the fly. So we've
got a little bit of music. So once I announced
the winner, the music will play, and then you will
make your way up to the mic and the music
will fade a little bit and you'll have about twenty
thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Okay, sure, yeah, all right, and the winner.

Speaker 10 (37:05):
Of the best non breakfast show.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
What helps us? It's brand clise.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Oh my god, Oh my god, who's speaking you?

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Oh my shaw, come on up here, guys, come.

Speaker 6 (37:21):
On up.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Even you. You're not up here, even me? Okay, Cludia, I.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Guess you can come yet topic.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Oh my gosh, guys, this is.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Well I'd say unexpected, but we've been expecting it for
eight years, so it's better late than never, I would say. Anyway,
after puddies at our hotel, let's go bday, not bad.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Short, sweet, upbeat. I liked it, like it. Who's up next?

Speaker 4 (37:50):
I'm going to say Claudia's are the winner. I'm best
not breakfast show.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Is bread clear?

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Gla.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
You don't come with me? We were going to go
this together. You go by, you go speak.

Speaker 5 (38:04):
I'm Claudia, I'm the executive producer on the show.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
What an honor it is.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
I honestly had no idea that this was coming. I've
only been with Brien Clint for four years of the
eight years, but honestly, four of the best years of
my life. What a team, what a show, Honestly, such
an honor. Parties in Clint's room. Train up same time
next year.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
I liked it's genuine like thoughts in there.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
And there is one more there is Illa Shepherd and
the winner best not Breakfast show is.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
It's Brain Clinton.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
I'm going that from state.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
To speak speak. Okay, go thank some people, they look good.
Look behind you used some today? O? Maori?

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Is this thing?

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Hi?

Speaker 9 (39:00):
Everyone?

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Ka cards?

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Sorry, I'm flustered.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
This is something the whole team have wanted and striped.
What's the word driven?

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Forward? Driven?

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Driven for eight years?

Speaker 6 (39:19):
Thank you for finally putting your prejudices against Australian's drinking.
I just want to thank from the bottom of my
heart this team. We come in every day with hot
fire content. We entertain the nation and it's nice to
be recognized once in our lifetime. Why am I being
drank at the stage.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Speechma good?

Speaker 4 (39:50):
I'm glad we figured that out now because so many
shots and that was one so passive.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Agree, I reckon. I'll just come on at.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
The end and say so sorry her. The last thing
we just want to say to everyone else, you know
how they always miss other people in the category, and
to everyone else in the category, suck it loser.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Let's do it Shilly on the stage.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
I'm excited now, plays Brienkland.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
We're talking about the off campus drama with the one of.

Speaker 4 (40:30):
The stag drama, not the show drama. Spoilers, it's the
real show.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
It's quite drama, right, Yeah, the show's drama, then there's
real life drama. One of the stars Mika Abdullah, who
plays Ellie. So the news out today is that her
and her fiance, who have been together for five years,
have broken up. Statement from her agent and we speculated
straight away. We're like, oh, she met someone on sick
yeah on there.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Yeah, it turns out her fiance is just a bit
of a douche.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
We got directed to this podcast which we've just been on.
What he referred to her. He referred to her with
the B word. Yeah, he goes, she's just some b
and the vibes are just way off.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
Then she asked him because she's sitting there and she's freezing,
and she's like, oh, can I borrow your shirt, babe?

Speaker 1 (41:14):
And he goes, I'm not taking over my shirt. So
thanks everyone for giving us.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
None of that was in the articles that I read.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
No, and they should be covering that because it's making
her look like the villain, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Yeah, And it renders our phone topic a little bit irrelevant,
But we still asked it. So we've still got some messages.
We asked did they leave you for someone at their
new job? And there's a few that have come in.
Someone said I was married with a three month old
and he left me to be with someone that he
met at a job he started four months before.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
What eh, oh, nah, ooh, that's nah. What about this one?

Speaker 4 (41:50):
My husband went off with the new girl at his
work a couple of years later, came back to me,
but too late.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Buddy, good for you, Good for you, Good for you?
How about this? This is the other way around.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
I've left three boyfriends. One was a fiance for someone
I met at my new job. My motto is new job,
knew me, new boyfriend. Your career grows, so why shouldn't
your standards?

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Whoa, whoa? I want to I want to talk to
that person.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
I reckon that person has never struggled to make a
decision in their life. They sound like the most decisive person.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
They and I'm just picturing how hot must they be?
New job, knew me, new boyfriend just like eat it.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Do your boy friends know that too, because the second
they see you on seek dot co dot in z,
they must be like.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
She wants to break up with me, she's looking for
a new job.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Someone else said, met and engage guy at a new
job where both of us were new in November. He
moved in in December, married following February, and ten years
ten years later and a daughter still going strong.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
So that's a success story.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Yeah, well worked out.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
Yeah, yeah for you. My friend was engaged for that, not.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
For the person that he was engaged to. Pretty traumatic
for them.

Speaker 2 (43:11):

an in home carera for a lady who was paralyzed,
and the husband left the paralyzed wife for the cara.

Speaker 2 (43:35):

You've made that lady's life worse.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
That's a horrible situation.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
There's something in the hypocritic oath about that. Yeah, my
friend was engaged and planning the wedding. They had two
golden labs together and owned a house, and his girlfriend
was cheating with a work colleague who was twenty years
older and married with kids, and their wife had no
idea as well.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
I wonder, however, blow it all up?

Speaker 2 (44:05):
And did you get a dog each?

Speaker 1 (44:07):
Yeah? Oh, you have to split up the labs. I mean,
if they cheated, you get the dogs. If you want both,
or yeah, if you want both.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
If one of them is a ship, then you get
to keep the one you want to take the dud. Yeah,
they have protake the dud. Found the balls in your
court in that situation.

Does she know the mission? I don't think.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Do you know the mission?

Speaker 1 (52:33):
She doesn't tell her the mission?

Speaker 6 (52:34):
Tell her the mission, Tell her we need her on
the show.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
Do you want to fill us in on your plans
for the evening?

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Um?

Speaker 2 (57:24):
You were just complaining about them before I.

Speaker 1 (57:28):
Gotta go home. I've gotta exfoliate my entire body head
to toe, not missing any nooks and crannies, and then
I've got to put my moo moo schmock on and
I've got head back into the city.

Speaker 4 (57:43):
Get us stand there starkers in front of a stranger,
get them to spray my body with some miscellaneous spray.

Speaker 1 (57:51):
And then go home and sit semi wet from the
spray ten for two hours and then I'll wash that
off around ten thirty tonight. Boom, that's my eye. What
it's time to be?

Speaker 2 (58:05):
What a picture?

Speaker 1 (58:07):
What a picture?

Speaker 2 (58:07):
Is this a late night spray tand place that you
go to or are you forcing them to stay open
to spray you bloody.

Speaker 4 (58:14):
No, they stay open quite late. Spraytending place, well, this
place does, yeah right.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
There is not.

Speaker 4 (58:20):
If you ever feel like you have a friend or
maybe yourself and you need to bring your confidence levels
down a bit, force them to go get a spray tad.
Because when you're walking back from the car, no bra on,
the paper, g strings still on under your smock. You
have to hold your titties as you run to the car.

(58:43):
There is nothing more demoralizing than when you see yourself
in the shop window as you're trying to scoop back.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
But isn't it a self confidence roller coaster? Because this
isn't twenty four hours from there, you have your shower,
you see yourself in the mirror and you go hot,
Damn I look good.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
You've never felt better?

Speaker 2 (59:01):
Yeah, yeah, or healthier.

Speaker 1 (59:03):
It's ebbs and flows, mess and troughs, beaks and troughs,
ebbs and flows. It's a roller coaster. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
If you see a ghoul like Bree tomas El scuttling
down k road tonight, do not talk to her. You
did not see her at all. See you guys tomorrow.
