Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show requested. So here it is. As long as you've
got da-da-dada.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's ZM's Bree and Clint podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
ZM's Bree and Clint, thanks to KFC. Yo, let's, let's go.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I think I met you in a dream last night.
ZM's Bree and Clint.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Back then you said maybe they were green.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Good afternoon, New Zealand, and welcome to another Brie and
Clint show.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yes, happy hump day. The hump day before Father's Day. Oh,
Targo Wednesday before Targo Father's Day. It sure is.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yeah, look, funny old vibes here in the Brie and
Clint show today. We're having to nurse wee Ella along,
who's just realised she has eight Brie and Clint shows
left to go.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
That's it. Because if you haven't heard, some people didn't hear,
she's leaving. Unless, unless, unless....

Speaker 4 (00:48):
A guinea pig dies, then it'll be about six shows.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Because you'll have to take some bereavement leave again.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Guys, I don't know what I'm doing.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I'm sad.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Ella, so this is a very relatable thing that you
are experiencing, Ella.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
You've made a decision. You ummed and aahed over it.
I'm sure you didn't discuss it with us, but you
ummed and aahed over it.

Speaker 6 (01:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
And then you go, no, I'm comfortable with this, and
you make the decision.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
And then there's a bit of time in between where
you have buyer's remorse.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
Yeah, I think I'm like standing at the edge of
the cliff trying to jump, but I have like weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
But you've jumped.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Not yet.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
No, but you have jumped. But I want to take
it back. You know, you've made the decision. No, I don't. No,
I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
I'm really excited.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
You pay for the bungee jump and then you've got
to walk out to do the bungee jump and you're like,
why did I choose to do this bungee jump?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
I'm just, I love you guys and we have so
much fun and I'm just scared of change. I mean,
isn't that a nice thing? Says a lot about working
with us, doesn't it? That she's actually sad.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
To go, which is a nice thing. Yeah, yeah. Let's
just enjoy it. That's what I've said to you. And
then we can be sad on your last day.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
There's no point being miserable and being sad these next
couple of shows.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I'll be keeping a crying telly, though. That's all right.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Haven't cried today.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
You're allowed to. Haven't. I'm all for crying at the office.
Especially if it's about us. I tried to do your
no crying at work challenge, Clint, and do the box breathing.
I say we normalise crying at work more.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
It made me want to cry more. Because I was touching, like,
feeling my feelings.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I'd be keen if you guys would cry a bit less.
It makes me uncomfortable.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
We don't even cry hardly ever.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Oh, for goodness sake. All right, all right. Hey, hey,
don't get upset, okay?

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Should we go get some acting lessons?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I would be willing to do this just to make
Clint feel uncomfortable. Let's go get acting lessons, learn how
to cry on cue, and then we all cry.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Oh, we'd love to, but Ella can't. She's leaving. Oh, stop.
That's so sad. We have $ 100 up for grabs. It's
so sad. And Tradiverse is lady thanks.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
To our friends at Jobspace, thus sponsoring Tradiverse Lady this week.
And it's got tight again all of a sudden.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yes, it has actually. 72 points.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I noticed this yesterday. The lady's on 70. They've really
pulled it back. The tradie's only two in front on 72.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Double the prize money thanks to Jobspace.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
So if you're keen to play, we need one tradie
and one lady.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Versus ladies.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Thanks to Jobspace.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
That's right, Jobspace is on board. The prize money is
up to $ 100.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
They're celebrating 20 years of Jobspace. You can find your
next opportunity right now at jobspace.co.nz.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
The score, the trade is on 72. The lady's right there, though,
back in, in it at 70.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Our lady's in Tarmachy.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
She's 26, and she is a mother of three. Welcome
to the show, Julia.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Hi, Julia. Hi. Hi. Are the kids there with you?

Speaker 7 (03:37):
Yes, I've told them to try to be quiet, but
if you hear any background noise, it's them.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
They are allowed to help you. Answer. That is the rules. Okay, cool. Well, actually,
pick your favourite and they can help you answer. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh, okay, I didn't expect you to actually do it,
but yeah, I like it. You're taking on our tradie
from Christchurch today. He's 34, and according to him, it
is the Warriors' year. Welcome to the show, Ethan.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Hi, Ethan. Hello, hello. Up the waz. Up the waz.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
If you had to give a man of the match
for the whole season, who would it be right now, Ethan?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Oh, Wade Egan, Aaron Clark, they're all going pretty good, eh?
Good choices. It's getting harder and harder to deny the
fact that it could well be the Warriors' year. But
nobody wants to jinx it. We're so scared. Yeah, fingers crossed.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Everyone touch wood. Ethan, your buzzer's tradie. Julia and the kids,
your buzzer is lady. First to three correct answers gets
$ 100 cash thanks to JobSpace.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Here we go, guys. Best of luck. Question number one.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Which basketball player is most famous for having their own
brand under the.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yes, Ethan.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
Michael Jordan.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
It is Michael Jordan. Well done. We move on to
question two. Who is the current leader of the New
Zealand Labour Party? Freddie. Yes, Ethan.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Chris Hipkins.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
It is Chris Hipkins. You're off to a flyer.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Julia, you need this one to stay in it. I
believe in you. Question number three. Buzz in when you
can tell me who sings this song. I should have
bought you flowers.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Ethan.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Ethan. Bruno Mars. Jeez, what a masterclass. He was bloody quick.
I feel for you, Julia. He was rabid. Didn't even
give you a look in, Julia. Yeah, that's okay. Well done, Ethan. Oh,
she's a good sport.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Don't be sorry, Ethan. You played a very, very good
round of Tradie vs.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
Lady, okay?

Speaker 1 (05:39):
You ruthless individual, Ethan.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Don't feel bad about the fact that you just destroyed
the hopes of an entire family in the car just now.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Okay. Shadow three kids there. No ice cream kits. No
ice cream kits. We love it, though. Well done. This
is a point for the tradies. Thanks, guys. Thanks for playing.
And thanks, Jobspace.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
They're proudly 100% New Zealand-owned, connecting Kiwis with opportunities since 06.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
ZM's Brie and Clint podcast.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Our producer Ella came to us today and she said
in her Gen Z way, she goes, I wonder if
you guys know these Gen Z terms.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Terms or acronyms, Ella?

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Acronyms.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Right. Because you guys do have your own language. Every
generation has their own language.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
You guys had ROFL.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yeah, that's our big claim to fame. We love to
claim that one. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I like the ROFLcopter.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
ROFLcopter was a special one. It only came out on
special occasions.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Rolling around on the floor, what's... Crying.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
No.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
What?

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Don't try to comprehend it.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Okay, sorry, sorry, sorry. You weren't there, okay? You stick
to your Gen Z acronyms, okay?

Speaker 5 (06:43):
And I want to see if you guys know them.
I'll start easy. Oh, this is fun.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
This makes me feel like Christmas.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
I know.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Christmas game show. Start off easy.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
G-R-W-M.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Wait, I need to write it down. Get ready with me. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I've said it a million times.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yep, easy.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
All right, number two. I, Y, K.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
If you know, you know.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Are you about to claim that as a Gen Z thing? Maybe.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I'm pretty sure that's a millennial one. Is that you guys?
I was going to say, I was pretty rich of
you guys to claim the Get Ready With Me as well. Yeah,
I don't feel like that's a you guys acronym. I
feel like it's an us, everyone.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Okay, I'm going to go hard now.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I mean, millennials literally invented social media, so.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
What about D-I-M?

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Is Paris Hilton a millennial?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Yep. Then, yeah, we did.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
What?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
What's your next one? Are you done?

Speaker 6 (07:39):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Sorry, I tuned out.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
D-I-M-L.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
D-I-M. Day in my life.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well done.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Good job, Claude. Thanks.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
She's the younger one on the team, so that's right. L-W-K. Oh,
that's that website with the clothes on it.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Let me know. L-what?

Speaker 5 (07:58):
L-W-K.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Oh, L-W-K. Last weekers. No. Don't tell us.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
Okay, okay, okay. L-W-K.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I need to write it down.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Does the L stand for look? No.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Low key.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Yes. Oh, wow, Clint. That's not an acronym, really. That's
just like a short mail.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, it's an abbrev.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
A shorthand guy. An abbreve is an abbreve for abbreviation.
As the Gen Xers would say.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Okay. W-D-Y-M. W-D-Y-M.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
I know this one. What do you mean?

Speaker 5 (08:37):
What would Jesus do?

Speaker 1 (08:38):
What do you mean? What would Jesus do? No, not that.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
That's a millennial one, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
What do you mean? Yes, correct.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
G-N-O.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
G-N-O. I feel like you millennials all like it.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Gynecologist.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
No.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Yeah, gyno. Once you millennials hear about this, you'll use it.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
G-N-O. Yeah. Got no orifice.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
What does that mean?

Speaker 1 (08:59):
G-N-O. G... Nah, don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Get no oranges.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Get no way.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
G-N-O. Girl, not okay. Not over, my dear buddy. Please stop.
Tell us what it is.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
You're getting there. Girls' Night Out.

Speaker 7 (09:16):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Girls' Night Out.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
You can have that one.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Do you guys say, should we have a G-N-O? What
does Ella.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
You know how, obviously, remember when Ella thought that Gen
Zers came up with D & M, but they call
it something else?

Speaker 5 (09:31):
DMC?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Even Meaningful Chat.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
Conversation.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
DMC. It's not a D. No, it's a D & M.
It's DMC. These are, according to Ella, Gen Z acronyms.
Stop trying to put lipstick on a pig and call
it something else. What the heck? So far, we're pretty
good at guessing. Because we use them as teenagers.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
I'm going to say this is.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
What? Because we invented them. Nothing, Ella. What's next?

Speaker 5 (09:55):
This is not an abbreviation. You just use these words
and it means something else.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Okay. QQ. QQ. Kiss, kiss. No. Is it a crying face?
The words QQ.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
No, the letters. QQ. And it means something. Hug, hug.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
No, but close. Oh, it means tongue out, tongue out.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
No, it means crying.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Do you like that one?

Speaker 1 (10:16):
No.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Okay. Won't use that for you guys when I message you.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Swag.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
I feel like you'll get this last one. I-S-T-G. I
swear to the Lord.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Go to the doctor and get checked, I think.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
That's exactly it, Bree.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I've got an I-S-T-G.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
It burns when I pee. Got an I-S-T-G.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
And it's quite inflamed. Yeah, go to the doctor.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I-S-T-G. I-S-T-G. Okay, one more.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
Go on.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
One more Gen Z acronym. Wait, what was that one?
What was that one? Claudia got it. Oh, what was it?

Speaker 5 (10:49):
I swear to God.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Hi, Mighty. Last one.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Do I have one more? Let me have.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
A look.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
I-C-Y-M-I.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
In case you missed it.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Nailed it.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
You guys are Gen Z girlies.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I'm going with girly pop. God, as it... Snaps. As
Ella and the Gen Z would say. N-V-M.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
QQ. M-V-M.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
M-V-P?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
No, NVM.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
That's a Gen Z abbreviation. OPP? NVM, never mind. You
know me.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Oh, never mind. N.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
God, this is hard. I somehow feel dumber after that.
Me too. NGL, me too. Here's role model.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Zed is Franklin.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Do you ever wonder what part of your decade you're in?
And by that, I mean whether you are, say you're
in your 20s, whether you are early 20s, mid 20s,
late 20s.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
If you're in your 30s, same thing. Early, mid, late.
Isn't it just based on your age?

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Could be, but it's blurry because it's a little bit blurry.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Because you're what? 37. Are you 37 now? Yeah. Are you? Yeah. Congratulations. Thanks.
I thought you were 36. Okay, I'm 36 then. No,
you're 37 now. Oh, so you kind of already know
what you are.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
What do you think you are? I'm... Okay, so hold on.
So see, here it is. Here it is. Don't work
it out. What do you think you are? What do
you feel like you are? Mid or late 30s? We're
not going early 30s, are we? No, definitely not. I
would probably say early, late. Early, late. Okay, right. Like medium, rare.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Well, Encyclopedia Britannica has actually sorted this out. They posted
yesterday and they've defined it. It's Encyclopedia Britannica, okay? They
know what they're talking about. They said that yesterday, September
the 1st, officially marks the beginning of the late 20s,
late 2020s.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Okay. We are now in the late 2020s. Okay. They
said that each decade is divided into 40-month intervals. So
we can work this out easily. Okay. Okay. I've done
it for the team. I've worked it out for all
of us.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Right.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
And I've got the results. Obviously, Ella and I are easy.
Ella's 25. Ella, you're mid-20s. You understand?

Speaker 7 (13:04):
No.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Oh, you don't even want that. You're right in the middle.
You're mid-20s.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
No, I think that's 27, mid-20s.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
No, you're mid-20s. I'm 39. I am late 30s.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
I'd say you're early 40s.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I'm the latest 30. Yeah. Well, you're in your... Final months.
Early 40s is so funny. 39ers, early 40s. But you
and Claudia is where you could say that it gets
a bit blurry. Shall we start with you?

Speaker 6 (13:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
So Bree, you are 37. You have been in your
30s now for 91 months.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Oh, that is a big 91-monther, isn't it? You are
officially 11 weeks into your late 30s. It's just ticked
over then. Oh, like, yeah. So like I said, early,
late 30s. Early, late 30s. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
You're 11 weeks into your late, at 37, at your
part of 37.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Yeah. You're in your. So I'm just in it. Late 30s.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Oh, I felt it in my back.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Claudia.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Hi. I reckon.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
You're a little bit more blurry because you're 33.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
I'm 33. So I reckon I'm in my late, early 30s.
I think I'm in my last year of my early 30s.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
You're in your late early 30s. Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
I've worked you out, okay? You have been in your
30s for 38 months.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
You have two months left of your early 30s. Oh!
I'm going to live it up.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
I'm going to have a blowout.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
You've got two months left. You've got to live it
up now. What are you going to do? It's crazy.
You're two months away from your mid-30s.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
So I really need September and October to be huge.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Crazy. Huge.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
We're going out when I leave, right? Next Friday? Yeah,
and then we have to go out every Friday for
the next two months.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Claudia needs to go out for eight Fridays in a row.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I might have to do Saturdays as well.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Go on. Yeah, you're going to have to really send it.
Big time.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Well, if the math is mathing, fine, I will.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Because I always have this argument with you because you
always say, is it clear? That says we're elder millennials.
And I'm like, you might be an elder millennial. I
definitely am not.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
And we always have this argument. Can you put the
same like practice into that?

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I could work that out. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
So millennials are people born between 1981 and 1996.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Oh, yeah. So it's 15 years.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
So if you were born 81 to 86, you're an
elder millennial. If you're born 87 to 92, you're a mid-millennial.
And if you're born 93 to what was the cutoff year? 96. 96.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
I think my math has been off, but... It's a roundabout.
Here's a good text. Someone just said, I'm 58 and
I am in my late, late 30s.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
True.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
I believe that. Sheila said, I just turned 60s, but
I identify as a mid-40s woman.

Speaker 7 (15:51):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Nice. I think it's, yeah, it's how you feel.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
That'll make sense.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
It's just a number on a page. True, it's just
a vibe, eh?

Speaker 5 (15:58):
It doesn't matter, right?

Speaker 1 (15:59):
I love math. Yeah. My mum always says to me,
she's like, I don't feel my age. It's a really
weird thing.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Like, as I get older, she's like, People will treat
me by the number that's on my driver's license, but
in my brain and in my mind, I don't feel
that age.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Wow. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
That's why her age keeps getting bigger and her bikinis
keep getting smaller.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
What the hell?

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Excuse you, that's my mum we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Zed In's Brain Inclin.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
A new survey, the happiest city in New Zealand has
been identified.

Speaker 6 (16:30):
Ooh.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
And you will not agree. Oh. You will not agree. Me? Why?
People will. I love everywhere in New Zealand. People might agree.
People might agree. Okay. But you won't.

Speaker 6 (16:41):
Why?

Speaker 1 (16:42):
According to the Seven City Quality of Life Survey for 2026.
I don't know why they call it that. Oh, no,
it's because there's only seven cities in it. Okay. Not
rocket science. Dunedin. Look, I feel like... It's okay to

(17:02):
not vibe with a place. I've been to Dunedin quite
a few times. Yes.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
And never have I been there when it's good weather.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Okay, yeah. That's a big part of it. I will
say that. You've never experienced a dunner stunner? I've never
experienced a dunner stunner.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
It's always been dark, gloomy.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Cold. Freezing. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
So that obviously hasn't helped.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Dunedin has a window, like Wellington. It's just smaller than
the rest of the country. I feel like I was
there in the window and it was still cold.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
We got pretty good weather when we did the Baldwin
Street race earlier this year.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
It pissed down rain straight after we finished.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
We got about three hours of good weather. And to
be honest, that was the best. I've liked Dunedin the
whole time.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Dunedin has character, you know. It's the Edinburgh of the South.
And you've got to be made of tough stuff to
live in Dunedin as well. Part of the issue could
be that when we go there, we're largely doing things
for O-Week and the university and, you know, so we
get the, how would you say, you'd get the less

(18:07):
polished version of Dunedin.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
I've never got to experience Dunedin for what it is,
I don't think.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Some good food I've had in Dunedin.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
You should go to the ID Fashion Week in Dunedin.
That'll be a different experience.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Is it in summer? I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Look, I feel like I also have bad memories in
Dunedin because of that hotel we stayed at that had
weird stains on the duvet.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Oh, but every city has a weird hotel.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
And then I'm pretty sure I got athlete's foot from
the shower.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Every city has a bad hotel. And the carpet was sticky.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
And then the last time I was there, we stayed
at a beautiful hotel. Yes.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
So that was incredible. Yes. And I was sick as
a dog. Oh, that's right. And work was like, well,
you have to go. We're doing this promo. And I
was like, okay. And I dragged myself down to Dunedin. Yeah.
I was sick as a dog. And then I lost
my voice. I was so sick. Well, that's right. So
I feel like that hasn't helped Dunedin either. I'm saying

(19:09):
it's not Dunedin's fault. No, but you can see how
none of this is Dunedin's fault, right?

Speaker 4 (19:12):
No.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
That's what I said. I don't think it's Dunedin's fault. Yeah,
but hey, it's not Dunedin's fault.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
I mean, the hotel was kind of Dunedin's fault.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
No, it's not. Dunedin didn't build the hotel.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
I left half a star review on that place.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
It's seven cities. I swear someone died in my room.
Was it you? You know who came last out of
the seven cities? This is the happiness survey.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Quality of life, happiness, happiest cities in New Zealand.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Have a guess. Last. For the, what, the saddest? Well,
the least happy out of the seven. Auckland?

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah. Wellington came second. Oh, there you go. Good on Wellington.
I don't understand this survey at all. Oh, wait, Do
you not like Wellington? No, I like Wellington. Oh, it
sounded like you did. It sounded like you were shocked
it was number two. Did it not, producers? It sounded
like it to me.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
Are you such a hater?

Speaker 1 (20:00):
No, I like Wellington. I just don't know what they've
got to be happy about at the moment.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
Then why don't you say you don't?

Speaker 7 (20:05):
What?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Doesn't Clint behind the scenes call it wah-wah Wellington?

Speaker 5 (20:09):
Whiny Wellington he calls it.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Whingy Wellington.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Yeah, you hate it, man.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Why do you not like it?

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Yeah, you're not convincing us.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
You're not happy that they're happy. What has Wellington ever
done to you?

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Have you actually been, Clint? He doesn't like to leave Auckland.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
You know what he especially hates? People tooting in the tunnel.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
He goes, I don't get it. Hey, all right, this
is slander. What I said... He says you can beat
it on a good day. What I said Brie said
about Danita was true. Was it? Shove it up your bum.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
That ends Brie and Clint podcast.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Shows what's you by KFC. You can head into KFC
right now and try their new liquid gold sauce. That's
here for a limited time.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Time for the tea.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
This is the tea.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Finally, the Ray Gunn doco is out on Netflix. We've
all been on the edge of our seats for it,
haven't we? My fiancé has been hanging out to watch
this doco. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm pretty
sure we're going to watch it tonight.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
It would be a fascinating watch. I like that it's
recent enough that you remember all of the details.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
It was a couple of years ago? Yeah, about two
years ago.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
So I believe they go into all the nitty gritty
of her story. And one of the things that I
thought was quite interesting that I've seen people talking about
is in the doco, they talk about.
All the people that came out online and dragged her
saying that she cheated to get into the Australian team.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
And the reason that they believed is this story got
real legs that her husband was on the board of
the breakdancing, like.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
What? Commission?

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Commission or whatever it was in Australia and he like.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Pushed her to the front and that's.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
How she got on the team, right?

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Okay, okay. That was a.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Huge narrative that was being spread worldwide when the Ray Gun,
all the Ray Gun stuff came out and they address
it in the doco and her husband says, uh-uh, that's
completely false.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
This misinformation is getting a lot of traction. I was like,
people are not even doing, like, basic, like, Google due diligence.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
It's so fabricated, but I think they see it as like, oh,
my husband coached, my husband coached, and that.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Was enough of a, like, well, there's something more here.
I wasn't a judge. I was never on any selection committee.
Sammy wasn't in charge of anything. Yeah, but he would
say that. No, but if he wasn't, he wasn't. Whatever.
I'll watch the doco. I bet it's produced by Ray
Gunn or approved by Ray Gunn. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
The scandal needs to be investigated of how in a
proud nation like Australia, a sporting nation like Australia, a
nation with incredible dance culture, Ray Gunn was the person
that they decided was the best breakdancer to send to
represent that country at the Olympics.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Oh, do you not rate it? I mean, I picked
up a couple of her moves, but.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
I mean, the kangaroo is iconic.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
And the serpent? She single-handedly got a sport cancelled from
the Olympics. It's quite an achievement.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Anyway, the doco about Ray Gunn is out now on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
The ZM Podcast Network.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
How do we feel about carny rides in 2026? Um, well....

Speaker 4 (23:36):
In 2026, look, I haven't been on one in a
long time.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Neither have I.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
But I do know, growing up in a small rural town,
show day was, I reckon, my second favourite day of
the year, only behind Christmas Day.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
It was the best day.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I grew up in Rotorua and when the carnival circus,
whatever you want to call it, came to town and
parked up on the lakefront.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
for the three weeks that it was there. That was
our Rainbow's End. Three weeks? That's how I remember it. Oh,
we got it for one weekend. We would have a
show weekend. Yeah, right.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
No, we would get a circus tent and we'd get
the carnival games, like the clown with the ping pong
ball in the mouth.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Right. And the pellet guns.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
And the outrageously dangerous rides where your safety mechanism is
a cage and the entire ride itself unfolds from a trailer.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
My favourite ride at the show was a ride, I
don't know if you guys had it here in New Zealand,
probably called something different, but.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
It was called the Sizzler back home. How did the
Sizzler work? So the Sizzler, it was like a long
seat ride.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Yeah like a long seat and there was multiple arms
kind of like an octopus so picture an octopus okay
and there was multiple arms and on each of the
arms it had like a you know a seat yeah
and you would there'd probably be like four people on
a seat yeah and essentially the ride would move and
it would throw you out to one side and then

(25:04):
throw you out to the other side and like throw
you out to all the sides and how were you
harnessed in Oh, I think it was just kind of
like a metal bar.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Metal bar across the house.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
But it wasn't a one-size-fits-all, so if you were little,
you had to really hold on.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
The one we used to get in Rotorua was called
the kamikaze.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
Oh, yes.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
And it was two chambers that moved in opposite directions
on a long arm and went around in a full 360.
So you went upside down.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
That's a classic carnival.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Ride, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (25:33):
I do wonder how they operate these days with the
amount of health and safety that we have to abide by.
You know, I don't know how they can or what
they do or if that's why they keep changing towns,
you know.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Right. I don't know. There's a story in.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
The news today about two Christchurch men who have been
seriously hurt falling from a Ferris wheel.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Oh, that's so scary.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
The Ferris wheel was at a festival. A music festival
in Christchurch.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
We don't need to name them. They do have rides
at music festivals these days, don't they? And when you've
had a few drinks, that'll be fun. Might get on
the sizzler.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I don't mean to cast aspersions, but I'm going to
assume that these men had had a few drinks.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
I would assume that too, yeah. Two of them got
badly hurt. One of them fell 15 metres from the
Ferris wheel, hit his head on the way down and
ended up with a brain bleed. How is he not,
if he fell 15 metres, how is he not dead? Well, close.
What did he land on? His head. He fell 15 metres.

(26:35):
Do you know how far 15 metres is? Yes, it's
a lot. It's so far.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
It could be more than the amount of distance between
the plane and the stadium on the weekend.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
I don't reckon much.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
They were deliberately swinging their bucket on the Ferris wheel.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Like, overly swinging it. Like, whoa, we're being crazy. Yeah, right.
And they did get told by the attendant to stop. Oh.
Because it was dangerous, and they didn't.

Speaker 6 (27:05):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
And their bucket did tip upside down. Oh, no. Because
they were swinging it. So there's a little bit of, like,
there's a little bit of take ownership for your own actions,
I feel. A little bit. I think a lot of it. Yeah,
a lot of it.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
They got told they were doing the wrong thing.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
They got told to stop.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
And then something bad happened.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Okay, fair. And then they're like, you guys need to
be liable for this. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Like a little bit like, I hate to say, I
told you so.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Yeah, yeah. And it's the wrong time to tell someone
I told you so. Exactly, because someone has got seriously hurt.
When they are bleeding from the brain. Look, and we
don't want anyone to be hurt, but I mean. But
as soon as they're better.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I told you so.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
We want to know this afternoon, have you had a
near-death experience on a carny ride?

Speaker 1 (27:57):
I feel like this is a bit of a needle
in a haystack. Well, near-death could be an exaggeration. But
have you been injured? Maybe you just lost a finger. Okay,
that's pretty hectic.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Maybe you, I don't know, maybe you just lost the
tip of your big toe or something like that.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
I don't know. A concussion? Will you take a concussion?

Speaker 3 (28:16):
I'd take a concussion from a carny, right?

Speaker 1 (28:18):
From the bumper cars? Yeah, I'd take a broken bone
from a carny, right? Broken bone's good. As well. But yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Maybe the carny NDA that you signed is so strong
that you can't call in and.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Discuss it with us.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
Did you get a good payout?

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Well, those carnies, good lawyers. That's what I know about them.

Speaker 7 (28:36):
Really?

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Oh, 800 dials at M. I was like, where'd you
hear that?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Well, you can text your experience to 9696.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Was that from your time on the road? From the carny,
from the carny festival.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
It's ZM's Brie and Clint podcast.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
We're talking carny rides because two men have, are in
the news today. They fell 15 metres from a Ferris
wheel at a carnival.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
It wasn't even a carnival.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
It was a music festival where they set up a
Ferris wheel in Christchurch. And the court has ordered them
to put some more safety on the Ferris wheel.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Did they have to?

Speaker 3 (29:13):
The two guys did rock the bucket upside down. And
got told to stop rocking. And they said stop doing
that and they didn't.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
And then they fell. And then they fell. And then
they were like, we felt your fault. Yeah. Well, one
of them hit his head on the Ferris wheel on
the way down. and got a brain bleed and five
days in hospital. I feel like he came out of
it lucky. He is lucky to be alive.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
So we're asking, did you have a near-death experience at
a carny ride?

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Jake's here. Hey, Jake. Hi, Jake. Hey, what's going on?
We're good. What was the experience, Jake?

Speaker 7 (29:43):
I was at one of those AMP rides called The Zipper.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Oh, yeah?

Speaker 6 (29:49):
Oh, yes.

Speaker 7 (29:49):
So you sit in like this little pod. It's basically
like a cage. And they shut the door on you
and closed.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (29:56):
Just before that, I'd wanted a sideshow, a glass ashtray.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Oh, you'd won a glass ashtray. What year was this, Jake?

Speaker 7 (30:06):
Oh, this would be maybe 2000.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yeah, okay. That makes sense. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (30:12):
Yeah, the glass tray... While the rod's going, this glass
tray flies out of my pocket, shatters, and then you're
spinning around, doing flips in this little cage, and you'll
shard the glass flying all over.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Oh, the glass was trapped inside the cage with you? Yeah.
Like a tumble dryer? Yeah, exactly. Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Now, Bree and I discussed personal responsibility earlier.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Who do you hold accountable for this? The zipper ride company.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Or you, the man who took a glass ashtray in
there with you?

Speaker 7 (30:45):
I'd say the sideshow guy that gave a 13-year-old an ashtray.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Oh, okay. I mean, you've got a point there. No,
that's fair. Yeah, that's probably hot up in court. All right,
bloody good, Jake. We appreciate it. Thank you very much.
That's such a good story. Such a good story from Jake.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
We asked, did you have a near-death experience on a
carny ride? Someone said, my sister almost passed out in
one of those big hamster ball things at the Caroline
Bay Carnival. Had to sit with the paramedics for ages.
Way to ruin the day, sis. Does she mean one
of those Zorb ball things? One of those inflatable balls?

(31:22):
Is that the hamster ball?

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
You get inside and then you kind of run around
in it. Someone said, 10 years ago in Sweden, I
went on a hanging dial style ride.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Hanging dial?

Speaker 4 (31:34):
A week later, I saw an article that the ride's
hanging dial had come off and crushed and injured a
bunch of people.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Jesus. God, you were lucky. That's like the people who
missed their ride on the Titanic, right?

Speaker 6 (31:48):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Because they got stuck in traffic or something. Yeah, like
the guy.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
And then they saw in the newspaper that it sunk.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Like the guy that Leonardo DiCaprio took his ticket off.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Just like him. Just missed it. Just missed it. This
text is so good.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
It says, when I was a young teenager, I had
my first job working for a traveling carnival in a
small town. The lady running the food place was out
the gate. I said to her that there's ants coming
out of the lemonade tap. She said to pick them out,
but don't worry about checking the cola. It's black, so
no one will see them. I was too young to

(32:24):
stick up for myself.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Sorry, customer. Outrageous. It's black, so no one will see them.
But a balance, okay? Someone said, my grandparents own a carnival, guys.
And from experience.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Working there, it's very rare for something to happen.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Wait, your parents? Grandparents. Your grandparents own a carnival? Your
grandparents are carnies.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Do you reckon, surely they'd be rich carnies if they
own the whole carnival?

Speaker 1 (32:51):
No, all carnies own the carnival. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (32:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Wait, so is it one family? Usually, isn't it? I
don't know. Oh, so wait, so that person's grandparents.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Own a carnival.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Own a carnival and then they would employ other people
to travel around with them.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Yeah, I imagine so. Yeah, right.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
I bet they were hoping it would stay in the
family business. But it sounds like the grandchild is not.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
No. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Not going into the family business.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
I went on one of those slingshot rides drunk. I
didn't die, but I do not recommend it.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Oh, I bet you felt sick. The reverse bungees.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Have you guys ever been on the Vomitron on the
Gold Coast?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
That ride is the devil. Who invented that crap?

Speaker 3 (33:34):
And afterwards, when you feel more nauseous than you ever
have in your life, all you're thinking is, why would
I opt in for a ride called the Vomitron?

Speaker 6 (33:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Why would you do that to yourself? What about this
text that's come through? It says, I was at Armageddon
like 10 years ago. There was this ride where we
had to jump off and onto an inflatable thing. I
stupidly held onto the railing when jumping, broke my fingers
and bashed every single pole on the way down.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
That'll ruin your Armageddon, won't it? Sure would. Won't be
queuing up for the Green Lanterns autograph after that one.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Here we go, Google downtime.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Who is the fastest Googler in the team? That's what
we figure out here. And they're playing for you. 50
KFC chicken dollars is up for grabs.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Concussion Claudia managed to win last week even with a concussion.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Didn't she win in three?

Speaker 5 (34:44):
I might have had my best game ever.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
She may have had her best game. What the hell?
And I may have just supercharged her again. I just
gave her a bucket of creatine today. I'm bulking. Bulking
my brain.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
A big old feed bag of creatine. All right, here
we go. I've put these questions into Google. I'm looking
for the first person that yells out the correct answer.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
If it's you, I'll give you a point.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
First to three takes the win. Here comes question number one.
In what year did the Rubik's Cube come out?

Speaker 5 (35:13):
1974. 1980.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
1969. Nice.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
Whoa, everyone's got different answers.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Oh, 1980. 1980.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
The answer that I have is an answer that one
of you has given, and that was Claudia, 1974.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Damn. Well done. Thank you. I googled what year did
the Unix come out.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
What's an Unix?

Speaker 1 (35:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
And since when are all these bloody toys identifying as gay?
Question number two, how many babies are born in New Zealand?
How many babies were born in New Zealand in 2025?

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Oh, God.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
57,705. That's right, Ella. Nice.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Got it.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
That was the amount of registered births in New Zealand
last year.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Hang on, sit with that. 57,000 babies.

Speaker 7 (36:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (36:08):
It's down from the year before, though.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah, it's a record low, actually. Oh. Yeah, we need
more babies.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
You're doing your part, Bree.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
Nice one, Bree.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
What have you guys done this year?

Speaker 6 (36:20):
Cried.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
Question number three. What song was in the number one
spot for the most weeks in 2006?

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Beyonce, Irreplaceable.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
Bad Day, Daniel Powder. Justin Timberlake, Sixie Back.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
One of you has it right, and that was Ella.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
Oh!

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Unexpected.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Sexy Back was number one for seven consecutive weeks.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
That's a good song.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
We move on to question four. Two to Ella, one
to Claudia. How much should a newborn baby weigh at
one month old?

Speaker 5 (36:57):
Nine pounds-ish. Nine pounds, four ounces.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
4.2 kilos.

Speaker 5 (37:02):
Which is nine pounds, four ounces.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
And 4.5 kilo for a boy.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
I'm going to give it to Claudia who said it first.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
You all were in the right area, though.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
I did it in the most unsure way possible, but
thank you.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
We move to question number five. Who invented.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
This is so weird because this question has been on
my list for ages. I just have never got to it,
especially after what we just talked about. But question number five,
who invented the Ferris wheel?

Speaker 5 (37:32):
George Washington Gale Ferris Jr.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Ella Shepard gets it done.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Just like that. And that is the game. George Washington
Gale Ferris Jr.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
That means it's the George Washington Gale Ferris Sr.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
I pick a name. What a name. Pick a bloody name.

Speaker 5 (37:51):
That's a good fact and a great win for me.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
It is a great win for you. 1893.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
That's quite incredible. Ella gets the win? Ella gets the win.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
Yeah, say it with more passion.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Jordan, you correctly picked Ella to win Google Down, and
you've won 50 KFC chicken dollars.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Yay, thank you so much. You are welcome.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
You can.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
We can. Very cute. Very cute.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
And please address Ella by her full name now. Ella
George Washington Gail Ferris Jr.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
Shepard.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (38:21):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Can we like acronym that? Yeah. We might have to.
I think that's a good idea, Jordan.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Play ZM's Bree and Clint.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
Question for you. What day is Father's Day? Father's Day
is on Sunday. That's what I thought. This Sunday. This Sunday.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
So if you just realise that, organise a present for
your dad.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
I just sent mine today, by the way. What did
you send him? Scratchies and chocolate. Yeah, nice. Same thing
every year. Every dad loves that. And he loves it, yeah.
If I got him a different gift, he would freak out.
He'd go, wait, what's going on? What's going on? What,
did I ruin Father's Day?

Speaker 4 (38:55):
We love to test the people of New Zealand about
Father's Day.

Speaker 7 (39:00):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
And we do that with reverse trivia. That's right. And
we're going to do it again today. We didn't invent it,
but we love to do it. We love to do it.
And today we're going to call Tauranga Dental House. Okay.
Good luck, Tauranga Dental House. Hello, Taranga Dental House.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Ashley speaking.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Hello and welcome to the Random Radio Game.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Are you ready to play? I'm absolutely ready to play.
Hell yeah! Let's go. If the answer's Sunday, what might
the question be?

Speaker 4 (39:28):
What?

Speaker 7 (39:30):
Day is Father's Day?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
She's got it! You've been the best contestant we've ever had, Ashley.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
Oh my gosh, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
You are actually the only contestant we've had that was
willing to play the random radio game.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Are you serious? Do people hang up on you? Yes.
Usually they hang up straight away, yeah. Oh my gosh, no.
Our phone disconnects.

Speaker 5 (39:49):
That would be a nightmare.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Do you have any idea what radio station you're on
right now? Dead end. That's right. Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
I listen to you guys every day.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Oh, my God. Can we please get this woman a prize?
We can, yeah. You won a real prize, Ashley. We
don't know what it is, but you've won one.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
Are you serious?

Speaker 6 (40:03):
Dead serious.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
This is the best day of my life. It might
be a stink prize, but you've won one either way.

Speaker 6 (40:06):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
I don't care. I'm talking to you guys.

Speaker 6 (40:08):
This is awesome.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Ashley, you've just made my whole week. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
Guys, my heart is racing.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Thank you so much. Hey, more importantly, are you sorted
for Father's Day?

Speaker 6 (40:18):
Uh, look.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
His present might be me telling him that I'm on
the radio. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's not bad.

Speaker 4 (40:24):
Are you a long-time listener, first time us calling you?

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Yes, 100,000%. I love that. I love that.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Ash, thanks for being a willing participant on the Random
Radio Game Show.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
You have a great day. Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
You too.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Hold the line, we'll get you a prize. Awesome, thanks.
And that's how it's done, folks. That's how you play
the Random Radio Game.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
That's how you react when a radio station calls you
out of the blue with no warning.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
That was textbook from Ashley.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
ZDM's Brie and Clint podcast.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Very big wedding happened over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Yeah. Billie Eilish's brother Phineas.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Oh, yeah, right. Who she's done every album with. Yep.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
They've created all her albums together. Got married to his
long-term partner of eight years.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
Right.

Speaker 4 (41:11):
Very exciting stuff. She officiated the wedding.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
Well, Billie Eilish did. Billie Eilish did.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Claudia Salewski is his now wife's name for people playing
along at home. And yeah, everyone's talking about Billie Eilish
officiating and not Phineas getting married.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
This is what I said. Which is a bit stink buzz.
This is what I was thinking. Is it a bit,
I mean, obviously she was asked to do it. Yeah,
I doubt she was like... She wasn't like, Shuggan, Shuggan,
join the wedding. I will marry you both. Shuggan, and
I'll sing. Yeah. She sings them down the aisle. Just
to make it all about her. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:50):
A lot of high-profile guests at the wedding, including Justin
and Hayley Bieber, the Biebers.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
That's pretty incredible for Billie Eilish to go full circle
from being a super fan of Justin Bieber. Having his
posters on the wall. To having Justin Bieber attend her
brother's wedding that she is the celebrant at. It's wild. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:10):
There was a lot of stories that came out after
paparazzi photos were taken of the Biebers at the Billie
Eilish's brother's wedding.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
See, now we've automatically said that it's Billie Eilish's wedding.
Billie Eilish's brother's wedding.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
There was articles saying that the Beavers had a big
blow-up at the wedding.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
They were having an argument. Oh, no.

Speaker 4 (42:33):
And there was photos of them arguing and these photos
have went around everywhere and now there's outlets pushing back going,
they weren't having a fight, they weren't. They were having
a conversation and you guys have taken it out of context.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
He was rapping. So now we don't know. How would
you know? But the photos did look like they were
having a serious chat.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
And we love the Biebs, but it kind of fits
the narrative of the last couple of years that they would,
or he would maybe cause a scene.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
That is my worst nightmare, to have an argument or like,
have a Barney with your partner at someone else's wedding.
Like it is the worst case scenario.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Someone else's any special occasion, but wedding is the worst.
Cause wedding, ideally you don't get another shot at.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
No. Like if I ruin your birthday party, that sucks.
But you have next year. If I ruin your wedding,
that's irreparable.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
It's like friendship losing.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
You know, depending on how bad it is.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
But it's just the worst time to have a fight. Like,
surely you put a pin in it.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
You have to put a pin in it. But this
is but. But you know, Brie. Once you bring feelings
and alcohol together. It adds fuel to that fire. Yes.

Speaker 6 (43:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Bad situation. But that's why you need good friends around
you too. Like.

Speaker 7 (43:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
To be like, it's all good. It's all good, guys.
It's all good. It's so embarrassing though.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
The last thing I want is everyone to know that
my partner and I are in a fight.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Quietly.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
You need good friends around you quietly to be like,
this is not, this is not, I'm not speaking from
experience here, by the way.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
Right. Seems like you are. My wife and I are
all good, by the way. Don't cause a scene. What
have you heard?

Speaker 4 (44:19):
Hey, don't cause a scene at my wedding.

Speaker 1 (44:20):
Oh. Or you did to me. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 7 (44:22):
All right?

Speaker 1 (44:23):
So just keep a lid on it. What if Claudia
and I go at it at your wedding?

Speaker 4 (44:28):
Does no one fight at my wedding, okay? We're trying
to avoid.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
That at all costs.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
So you'll be doing us fighting at the wedding?

Speaker 1 (44:34):
Yes. What if Claudia and her partner fight at your wedding? Actually,
don't worry about it.

Speaker 5 (44:38):
Oh, how dare you?

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Oh, this is how the fight starts. That joke was
predicated on the fact that Claudia is single.

Speaker 5 (44:46):
By choice. I could get a partner whenever I wanted.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Yeah. That sounded totally believable. Get one for Bree's wedding.

Speaker 7 (44:56):
Fine.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
Look, they won't be invited, but you can get one.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
You're going to have the mankiest rando attend your wedding.
I'll be like, who the hell is that in all
the photos?

Speaker 5 (45:06):
I could lower my standards if I wanted to.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Claudia is like, I've known this person since the Dom
Dollar concert. Thank you very much. Where we locked lips.

Speaker 5 (45:15):
Front left.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
Whichever ones you're into. We want to know if you've
had a big fight. with your partner at a bad time, okay?

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Like it was just the worst timing. Everyone has falling
outs with their partner. It happens.

Speaker 4 (45:31):
But, like, was it at someone's wedding?

Speaker 1 (45:33):
Yeah. You know? Was it at their sister's... Funeral. christening? Oh, funeral.

Speaker 6 (45:40):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
You surely put a pin in it then.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Well, it's another one you only get one shot at,
you know? If someone ruins your funeral, there are no do-overs.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Well, it depends if you've got multiple sisters. Oh, true, yeah.
That's dark. Babe, I've got good news. My other sister
has died, so you have a chance to make up
for what you did at my first sister's funeral.

Speaker 4 (46:01):
We can have a redo. Billy Eilish's brother, Phineas, got
married over the weekend. Huge wedding. A lot of famous
people there. The Biebers were there, Justin and Hayley. And
there was rumours that they had a Barney at the wedding. Ooh.
There were some photos that the paparazzi got of them,

(46:21):
which looked like they were arguing.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
They say they weren't.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
They say they weren't having an argument, which they might
not have been, but it made us think, oh, that's
a bad time to have a fight with your partner.

Speaker 1 (46:33):
It's a relatable experience, whether you've done it or seen it.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
And even if you've only seen it, you still, the
secondhand cringe is.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
You're like, oh, that's the worst. So we asked, big fight,
bad timing. Shana's here. Hey, Shana. Hi, Shana. Hey, team.
How's it going? We're good, thank you. Where did you
and your ex have a badly timed fight?

Speaker 6 (46:53):
My granddad's funeral. Oh.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
Who started it? What was it about? Do you remember? Yeah,
I do remember. He definitely started it. And it was because.

Speaker 6 (47:05):
When I was away, when my granddad first passed away,
I was just concentrating on myself and my family.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
Of course you would be. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (47:15):
So he was upset with.

Speaker 1 (47:16):
Me because I wasn't making as much contact with him
as he.

Speaker 6 (47:19):
Reckoned I should have been.

Speaker 1 (47:21):
I can see why he's your ex. He's like, you're
not giving me enough attention.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
Did you guys last much longer after the funeral fight?

Speaker 7 (47:30):
I think we separated later that year, but we've got
two kids together.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Oh, no. Yeah, well, it was probably for the best. Foreshadowing. Yeah. 100%.

Speaker 6 (47:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
Oh, man. Man, it sucks when you've got to keep
raising people together with the person. Imagine your granddad just
dies and then someone's like, why aren't you texting me back?
You know, you're like, because my granddad just died and
I'm with my family. Yeah, exactly. Like, what do you
think I'm doing?

Speaker 3 (47:59):
We asked, did you have a poorly timed fight, a
big fight at a bad time? Someone said we had
a huge fight on the way to our embryo transfer.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
Holy shit.

Speaker 6 (48:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
It's something about the high pressure, high emotion situations, you know,
and you're both on edge.

Speaker 4 (48:14):
Honestly, having gone through that process myself, It is such
a pressure cooker and there's so many emotions going around.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
And hormones, literally hormones.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Literally hormones that you're pumping into your body.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Anyway, yeah, that is not a good time to have
a fight with your partner. Badly timed fights. We had
one while we were living at her parents' house.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
That's awful for you. That sucks because where are you
meant to have it? Like go to the McDonald's car
park or something?

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Yeah. You don't have your space to vent.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
Yeah, that's so bad. Someone else said, my friend had
a small wedding at her house. They had a camera
pointing at the door. There was a screen by the
door and it turned on every time there was motion detected.
We were waiting on one more couple. It was quite
silent in the room and the screen turned on and
it was the couple having a major fight by the door.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
Televised.

Speaker 4 (49:07):
You could hear all of the audio, and they didn't
end up coming, and they turned around and went home
and texted saying they were sick. We all heard and
saw everything.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
What's more awkward?

Speaker 3 (49:20):
Texting and saying you're sick and leaving or coming in
after everyone's listened to your whole fight?

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Both are horrible.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
I feel like coming in after the fight and everyone's
seen it is worse.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
We had a tiff right before he proposed to me.
We're actually broken up now, so I think that was foreshadowing.

Speaker 5 (49:36):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Yeah, not ideal. Crazy to still ask the question. That's
what I was going to say.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
If you were planning on proposing and you have a
fight as these things happen, do you still go.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Through with it? I don't think so. No, because the
moment is tainted. Yeah. Or do you go, here's your
dumb ring. You want to marry me?

Speaker 6 (49:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
I think abort the mission.

Speaker 4 (50:03):
Someone else said, the night of our wedding, my son-in-law
told me him and others didn't want the wedding to
go ahead. My husband didn't believe me. I spent the
rest of the night and the next day crying my
heart out.

Speaker 6 (50:16):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
That's so sad. On your wedding day.

Speaker 3 (50:18):
I think my sister and her ex-husband take the cake
for worst-timed fights. I could name many occasions, but the
two that stand out were the night of the day
of my mum's funeral... Oh, that she died and again
on the day of the funeral after the service.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
So the double, the double barrel.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
Again, it's a high-pressure situation, you know, and some people
just aren't built for it.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
But.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
If it was me, right, we all make mistakes. And
let's say you have a fight on the day your
partner's mum dies.

Speaker 1 (50:49):
Like, what are you doing? Surely you are able to reflect.
You don't do it again. And then don't do it
again on the funeral. I had a fight with my
partner at my granddad's funeral when he kept yawning.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
During the ceremony. It was being live streamed and we
were in the front row.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Yeah, you've got to get your shit under control for
your partner's granddad's funeral.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
Someone said, I was staying in a campground and I
had to listen to the people in the tent next
to me, indoor garden. They started fighting in the middle
of it and eventually they made up.

Speaker 1 (51:19):
And carried on. I stay in motels after that. That's
so funny to be in a tent next to it
and hear the whole thing. Once they start doing it again,
you should be like, yay. Good job, guys. Well done.
Well done.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
Zee means Brie and Clint. Brie and Clint.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
All I want for my birthday is a birthday banger.

Speaker 4 (51:42):
Birthday banger time. Number one songs when you turn 16.
Let's get this thing cracking.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
Zoe's first. Hey, Zoe. Hi, Zoe.

Speaker 7 (51:50):
What's up, guys?

Speaker 6 (51:50):
How we doing?

Speaker 1 (51:51):
Good, mate.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
How's your day been out of 10?

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Oh, it's been busy, but it's been good. I'd say
a solid, like, 8.7 out of 10. Jeez, that's high.
Pretty good. That's pretty bloody high.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
Yeah, good day in the Tron.

Speaker 6 (52:04):
All right.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
Well, a win on birthday banger could notch you into
the nines, so let's do yours.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
What's your date of birth? 10th of the 8th, 1993.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Right, that means you were 16, Zoe, in 2009. And
on that day, this was at the top.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
Oh, it's Black Eyed Peas era.

Speaker 5 (52:23):
Banger.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
Absolute tune. Some great lines in this song. You like it, Zoe?

Speaker 5 (52:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
I will used to be the biggest Black Eyed Peas fan.

Speaker 5 (52:39):
Really?

Speaker 1 (52:39):
Oh, perfect. Yeah, great. Oh, how bloody good then.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
If Black Eyed Peas reunited with Fergie and toured, can
you imagine how big that would be?

Speaker 1 (52:47):
I reckon they would have like just as big a
second run. I do too. I think the timing is right.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
I think enough time has passed and people would trip
over themselves to get tickets to that show. There's two Hazels'
mum's birthday banger.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Hi, Hazel. Hi, Hazel.

Speaker 7 (53:02):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
How old are you, Hazel?

Speaker 5 (53:05):
I'm 10 turning 11 tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
Oh, happy birthday for tomorrow. What are you going to
do for your birthday, Hazel? Do you get the day
off school?

Speaker 4 (53:12):
No, I'm doing a half day at school.

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Oh, how good. What do you want for your birthday?
I don't know. What are you going to have for
dinner on your birthday?

Speaker 7 (53:24):
We're going to Sticks and Stones.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
Is that an Indian restaurant? It's like a steak restaurant.

Speaker 4 (53:32):
That sounds really good, Hazel.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Hazel, what's your mum's name? Karina. Karina. And what's mum's
birth date? The 26th of August, 1984. Yeah, nice work, Hazel.

Speaker 7 (53:41):
That means mum was 16 in the year 2000.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
And on that day, this had a number one hit.
I don't want to rock and DJ.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
DJ. It's Robbie Williams.

Speaker 3 (53:59):
He's coming to the country soon. Mum will be into this,
I reckon. Hazel, do you think she likes it?

Speaker 6 (54:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
Yeah. Yeah. It's a ripper from Robbie. Interesting, I learned
from his doco, he did not want to.

Speaker 4 (54:12):
Do this song.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
No. He was like, nah.

Speaker 6 (54:16):
And then.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
Always ends up being the biggest song of the artist's career, though.
One of his biggest. Yeah, yeah. James is here. Hi, James. Hi, James. Hey,
how are we all?

Speaker 4 (54:24):
Good.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
Good, James. What have you been doing today?

Speaker 7 (54:26):
Just working away and just.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
On my way home. Oh, love that for you. What
is your birthday?

Speaker 7 (54:33):
22nd of June, 1990.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
All right, James, you were 16. That means in 2006.
And here's your birthday banger. Buffalo. I'll have to rip
it from Melly Pitato. You've got to be happy, James.

Speaker 7 (54:54):
Always happy with that, yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
Stood the test of time, this song, eh? Yes, it has.
All of those are great songs. I like them all.
All from the 2000s as well. I don't know today.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
If I'm voting purely on song, I'm voting for Maneater.
If I'm voting on cuteness, I'm voting for Hazel.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
And if I'm voting for vibes, I'm going with Zoe.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (55:23):
I like them all.

Speaker 1 (55:23):
All right, let's make Claudia decide. Yeah. Claudia, what's the
winner of Birthday Banger today? Why have you done this
to me?

Speaker 5 (55:30):
Let's go Man Eater.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Yes, girl. You made the decision that I couldn't. It
was a good decision. James, you've won Birthday Banger. Well done. Oh, yes.

Speaker 6 (55:38):
How good.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
How good. Get in, James.

Speaker 3 (55:42):
From 2006, here's a birthday banger from Nelly Furtado, ZM.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
Everybody look at me, me.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
ZM's Bree and Clint podcast.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
You wish you never, ever.

Speaker 7 (55:53):
Met her at all. You wish you never, ever.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Met her at all.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
Nelly Furtado on ZM with Bree and Clint. It's the
winner of birthday banger for James. It was number one
in June 2006. That's a 20-year-old song right there. That's
a 20-year-old song.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
But if it came out today, straight to number one.
Straight to number one. Straight to the top.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
The ZM Podcast Network.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
Do you think you're healthy? Me. Fit and healthy? I
hope so. Virile? Well, I know you're not virile because
you had the snip. Is virile and fertile the same thing?

Speaker 4 (56:29):
No, infertile's the opposite, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (56:30):
No, it's virile and fertile. Are they the same thing? Oh, well, no.
I think a woman is fertile and a man is virile. Oh, really?

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Virile means having physical strength, energy, and traits associated with
an adult man.

Speaker 6 (56:47):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
Virile has nothing to do with fertility. I thought it
was meaning good spermies. No, I think it means... Have
you got enough energy to, you know?

Speaker 4 (56:55):
Well, I guess it is the exact thing we're talking
about in terms of being healthy.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
Yeah. It's the exact spot on. I saw this from
a doctor.

Speaker 4 (57:06):
She was talking about the six signs that your body
gives you that you are healthy.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
And, of course, as a woman in her 30s, I
was like.

Speaker 1 (57:16):
I need to know this. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:18):
So I've got the six signs. In my opinion, I
feel like, and this is just my opinion, I feel
like you have to have at least four.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
That's quite a lot.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
If you've got four of the six, I reckon you're
super healthy.

Speaker 1 (57:29):
Do you remember how many you got? No, I haven't.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
I didn't really do it for myself yet.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
Okay, right. I probably should have done that. Let's do
it together. Okay. All right.

Speaker 4 (57:37):
Here comes the first sign that your body is healthy.

Speaker 6 (57:41):
Number one, toe hair. Hair growing on your toes. I
know it sounds strange. It's actually one of the first
things vascular doctors check. Loss of toe hair is a
classic early sign of peripheral artery disease. So if you
have toe hair, that means your circulation is reaching all
the way to the last mile. So that's a really
good sign.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
All right. Shove hands. Who's got toe hair? Producer Ella.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
Yeah, I've shaved mine.

Speaker 1 (58:06):
Do you?

Speaker 6 (58:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
It doesn't look like you have any, Clint.

Speaker 5 (58:10):
Oh, he's got the dogs out.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
I think I've got very bald toes. What?

Speaker 5 (58:14):
Lucky. A mole rat.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
Yeah, same. I've got bald toes.

Speaker 5 (58:18):
Oh, yeah, me as well.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
Shit, I've got that. I've got toes.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
Do all the ladies have hairy toes and the man
has bald toes?

Speaker 1 (58:25):
I've definitely got hair on my toes.

Speaker 5 (58:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
100%. On my big toe. Yeah. I don't know about
my other ones, but definitely a few. Got a sprinkle
on my big toe. Okay. So, Clint, you don't get
one for that. I'm shocked at that.

Speaker 4 (58:39):
I'm really shocked. Okay, the girls were on the board.
Here comes the next sign that your body's healthy.

Speaker 5 (58:45):
Number two, if.

Speaker 6 (58:46):
Your veins pop out during a workout, visible veins actually
means low body fat and a vascular system that's flexible
enough to be able to dilate on demand.

Speaker 4 (58:57):
I feel like they do on my hands. I feel
like Claudia and I talked about this earlier.

Speaker 5 (59:01):
On my hands and one on my ankle.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
Does that count? You're getting vascular.

Speaker 5 (59:04):
Yeah, like Hugh Jackman on that cover.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
Yeah, I can tense up and my veins pop out.

Speaker 4 (59:08):
Sometimes I've got a vein that comes on my forehead.
That's when I'm angry.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
When you're doing your forehead workout. Yeah, exactly. A little
unicorn horn. Okay, I'll give myself one for that.

Speaker 4 (59:20):
I guess I feel like I get a half, but
I'll just give myself one.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
Here comes the next one.

Speaker 6 (59:25):
Number three, your nails grow super quick. Nails are fed
by tiny capillaries. So slow toenail growth might be a
sign of slow circulation.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
Capillaries? Capillaries. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Are you arguing with
the doctor? My nails don't grow super quick. Don't they? No.
My velociraptor toes are always in need of a clip.
That makes me feel ill. Yeah, I know. But I
clip them. See?

Speaker 4 (59:52):
See?

Speaker 5 (59:55):
Lucky your feet were already out.

Speaker 1 (59:57):
Ew. Ew. Get your bloody hoof away from me. All right,
I got two. You got two out of three. Okay,
here we go. Here's the next one.

Speaker 6 (01:00:04):
Number four, your socks don't leave imprints on your ankles.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
That's good.

Speaker 6 (01:00:08):
Socks marks means that you're having some fluid retention. That
could be a kidney issue or sodium balance or a
circulation issue.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
All of them dialed in. Fran and I both lifted
our socks up. Yeah. We both got marks. Yeah, we
got them busy socks. I feel like that depends on
the sock. You know, if you have a looser sock. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
I always get so upset when I see that my
socks leave marks in my legs. Doesn't mean you dehydrated.
I don't know. Play it again. What does she say?

Speaker 6 (01:00:37):
Number four, your socks don't leave imprints on your ankles.

Speaker 5 (01:00:41):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Socks marks means.

Speaker 6 (01:00:43):
That you're having some fluid retention. That could be a
kidney issue or sodium balance or circulation issue, all of
them dialed in.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
Jesus, okay. All right. Two out of four. Okay, next one.

Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Number five, minor cuts that heal in days, not weeks.
That's a good sign. Wound healing is a stress test
for your immune system, your blood sugar, and your blood
flow all at once. So if you're healing really, really fast,
almost everything underneath is going to be working the way
it should be.

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
Yeah, that's fine with that. I think I'm pretty good
with that. Should we cut ourselves? No, let's not do that.
We'll have a healing race. I had a period, though, in.

Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
My 20s where I was definitely not looking after myself,
where it would take weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Okay, let's do the last one.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
So you said we have to get four out of six.
So we have to get this one. We have to
get this one. You and I both have to get
this one.

Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
Number six.

Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
You know that dizzy feeling when you stand up too quickly?
That's your autonomic nervous system struggling to regulate its blood pressure.
If it doesn't happen to you, then your nervous system
is great. It's passing the test.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
I'm good, baby!

Speaker 7 (01:01:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
So if you don't get dizzy when you stand up. Correct. Yeah.
Then you get a tick. I don't get dizzy standing up.
We're healthy. We just scraped in. We just got fat ankles. Yeah.
And they're really white too.
