Speaker 1 (00:03):
And welcome our big pod. The live show is all
back on the twentieth of July after a mid year break,
so I'll ask us anything.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
We've got an email here from somebody. They're going to
remain anonymous. Ah, but this is quite quite an intense email.
I wanted to ask advice and maybe the listeners if
they have any ideas. I've been listening to you guys
for a long time. Basically, I found out in twenty
twenty two that I had breast cancer, underwent treatment. It
was long, nearly ten months. Grateful I listened to the podcast,
(00:32):
got me through, went through chemo. I've had three years
cancer free. Last month month found out it's returns and
it's now stage four. This is really little that can
be done. Sorry, So my question is if you had
two years left, what would you do?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Oh God, holy moly, this is actually her.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
This is actually her life right now. Husband's resigned from
the job. I just said, we can spend as much
time as together as possible, so we can go on
some adventures. Fletch, you've traveled around the world. Where would
you go? What would you see? What experiences should we
seek out? What's a must do?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Where did you say they're living New Zealand. Yeah, I
think they're in New Zealand. Okay, yep for two years.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
So you've got kids, so hard to just not want
to just like shower you with like I'm so sorry
this has happened and how awful, But.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
That's not what you need.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I also think you'll live it up as hard as
it and it probably was hard times coming to terms
of it. The fact that you're like, Okay, come on,
let's do this as a great attitude, because I reckon
I'd be I'd really struggle to get into that mindset.
So it's pretty awesome to.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Hear you'd be feeling sorry. Yeah, I think so it
would be that. But then you just have to get
over it.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
We've got this kids, You've only got.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
This amount of time, and none of us even know
how much time we've got left?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Do we know exactly? Drink it while it's fizzy, as
the sprows say, Yeah, okay, where would be a top
location for you? You got to eat food? Oh my god,
So no more diets because you're a woman. I'm sure
you've been affected by fucking diet culture.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
We're eating whatever you want, absolutely whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Are you with the kids or just your husband.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
I think the kids are come.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
You have to go to Disneyland, I guess.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yep, yep, Disney rides.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I mean, it depends what
you're into if your are you into beaches? Do you
just want to relax for weeks on end?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
What's the most beautiful place I've ever been to?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
I mean the Mediterranean, hands down is the most beautiful place.
It's expensive, Yeah, like Greek islands, Sardinia is amazing. I'm
got I am there now while you're listening to this podcast.
Speaker 4 (02:28):

Speaker 1 (02:31):

Speaker 4 (02:32):
You simply must come.
Speaker 1 (02:33):

want culture of beaches or what do you want?
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I mean, are you jumping out of planes? Are you
are you going to do bungee jumps? Are you can
do adventure stuff?

Speaker 1 (02:43):
South America is cheaper to travel too, It's beautiful, Like
Patagonia was incredible.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I would do everything I even wanted to do with
my hair. Like I mean, I don't know if you've
lost you here or not, but if you did, I'd
wear like pink eggs and I'd have like any color
I wanted.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I'd get every tattoo I ever wanted. Either was bad,
I'd be like, great, how funny is this?
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, yeah, I'd buy.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I'd buy like real, I'd buy nice clothes to live
my last two lives, last two years, and i'd probably
have I'd have augies and ship But I don't know.
You can have a chat with your husband about that.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Best discussion if you're traveling with the kids, like seeing
the joy in their face would be yeah, exactly, pretty
intense time for them thirteen and nearly sixteen, so I
could fully comprehend the situation.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I did, like a family trip to la with my
whole family when me and my brother were sixteen and nineteen,
and it ruled like because we went to concerts, gigs,
we went to the X Games.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
We went to theme parks, we ate food.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Like that was pretty cool doing that as a family. Yeah, god,
that's awful. Oh you gotta go to Barley Bomb. We
went as a tread.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
That was great.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, ja's good for a bit of Barley.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
If you were a family, could you go on one
of those cruises that kind of like touches.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Every week every Oh yeah, maybe there's.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
So much it for the kids to do on the
and stuff, and you can have the little date nights.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah yeah. Just write a list, write a list and
start start that and I guess, yeah, start with the
things you want to do the most.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
And make time. Maybe.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I mean you love I'm sure you love your kids.
We make time for just bitter adult time. It's a
bit of fun. You doesn't have to be an orgy.
I'm not suggesting, She goes, you're pushing again. What do
you want to do before you leave this mortal coil?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
I have time? Yeah, okay, yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, I'm seeing you out love anyway, and yeah, definitely
don't keep in touch with us.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Abby from Auklands is what's the funniest story a listeners
ever told you? That's a hard.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
One, like one of the calls we've ever had.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Ship. Oh, I don't really remember them until.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
I don't think coach very great.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, I think the cockroach up the story because we
know the people, you know, peop.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
With the mirror was pretty good. I mean, that's the
thing that's that's recncy biased, though I'm just thinking something
this happened recently. I can't remember. There was once upon
a time this we were doing this segment many many,
many many years ago, and it was if you could
give you sixteen year old self, like one piece of advice,
what it would to be. And this guy rung up
and he said, I just I just pop back in time,
(05:21):
give myself a tap on the shoulder and just whisper, hey, mate,
the balls don't go on the go on?
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And the way he told the story, which was just
so good, so beautifully told, that made me laugh a lot.
I still think of that every now and then.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Call it. That's the thing. We get always, so many
great stories. It's hard fact. There was a Calum the
call from Calum remember a few years about that who
was presumed dead.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Has his sisters told his parents he was dead and
they just didn't never looked into it, just like oh
it's a bugger why and just didn't look into it.
A funeral we might have a memorial something about nah,
fuck that guy. And then six months later he pops
up and they're like, we thought you were dead. That
was a pretty wilde. Wow. There's been so many and
(06:04):
I'll tell you what. You could go back and fight.
Most of them are wherever you listen to your podcast,
scroll back as far as you can and give it
a listen. That's actually it. That's all I got. That's
all of that.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
We get tomorrow on the radio. They are you kidding?
These holidays go so fast.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
We haven't started and it's over.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
We started the holidays before.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
The holidays, and now holidays are over.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
The sucks, the socks burn.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
See you tomorrow, Cee tomorrow and we'll be tanned VRN
and you'll be all wine for the snow.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yay.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
I think we're up the Eiffel Tower as we speak, Flitcher,
it's beautiful.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
That's me saying. That's me yelling down down to Vaughn
and the the Clibs.
