Speaker 5 (00:16):
We're here.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Everyone's listening was like, oh, no, we speak.

Speaker 6 (00:21):
They imagine we've been gassed in here and we're all
lying flat on the floor.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
We did have a gasle like that one time. Do
you remember we had headaches all day.

Speaker 6 (00:27):
Yeah, and we tried to protest and go outside, but
then we were like, we won't let the listeners down.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
We're here.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
That was a sort of you both know, you guys
are friendically applying. Just I just thought, you know, I
think it was the gas thing. I was like, well,
maybe I don't want my lips to be dry if
look at it.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
If I'm going to die, I want juice pressible.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Lying lip bar It's important to start the show with
lip barm born.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I can tell I think the audience can hear that
your lips are dry.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Now today on the show deal or Reveal eight o'clock
this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
We've given away thousands of dollars. Do you know?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
It's interesting looking at the stats since we Yeah, since
we re reloaded the board, most people are taking reveal,
I know.

Speaker 6 (01:11):
And we've had a shuffle as well, because obviously case
number four m went and it was the Olivia Dean tickets,
but she'd already taken the deal. Yes, so then it
was a big reshuffle. And I see a thousand dollars
in front of me, yep, I know they better have
been one.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I also see three dollars behind me though, so you.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Know, so that's out of the way. Still three thousand
dollars in there. And those tickets to Olivia Dean the
top six wore and coming up, yeah, are the top
six ways to catch a kangaroo.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
How to catch a.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Kangaroo has been a problem for Australians this week as
there's been a rogue kangaroo on the loose. Well, aren't
they always want the still words out? You see people? Yeah,
they do have a car every now and then.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, tasty with a car.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I get an accidental car. Yeah, they were those big boys,
those big MUSCLEI haven't seen a jacked kangaroo on the
news for a little while. You know is every now
and then absolutely Red Kangaroosman spotted.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I love the moment. Next on the show, I think
we need a little bit more whimsy.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
We're gonna start off the show with a reason to
get more whimsy into your life.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
You want to get one life?

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Does that end? Podcast Network?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Fatty show on our hands? Today?

Speaker 6 (02:19):
We love a Friday. Do you know what I'm looking
forward to? I'm not looking for having some fun today.
We're gonna go out for dinner as as genuine friends.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, I think tonight it's gonna be fun. I'm going
to have fun. I'm having fun already today.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
It's got that mischievous look in his eye like I can.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Feel, dear I say it, he's got a mini blowout
at him.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
And you know me, I'm here for it because we've
got a long weekend and I have absolutely cleared the
schedule for the rest of the weekend to do nothing
but homesteading.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
Oh my god, I'm sading all weekend. Well, I'll see
you over at mine for that hedge.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Oh my god. I couldn't even drive it up your
driveway yesterday as it cashesterday. He was just like trying
it and he was like. He was like, I've got
to stop at the end of the driveway.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, it's quite bad, Born, it's really bad. I'll be
over as soon as possible. It's it's embarrassing as well.
I share that Heat was my neighbor and he didn't
last night's mind.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Patsy.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Oh no, I'll get Pats up a ladder today. I'll get
Pats up a ladder before the day before she flies
away on her trip, I'll get her up a ladder,
teetering up.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
There, heaven, heaven. Well, we're going to have fun. And
tell you what, fun is very important. It's one of them.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
It is genuinely, genuinely the reason I live is to
have fun, not to raise children or but.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
You know better the world, do you know? Just I'm
here for a good time for a long time.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
Yeah, no, well both good long're afraid of dying. The
problem is most people are lacking fun in their life.
This is a study out of America, but I'm sure
this would be a global trend.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Probably being an America be a bit more miserable.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Forty eight percent. Now I'm going to round that up
to fifty half. Half of Americans say that their life
is lacking fun twelve the last time they had fun.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
But I guess there's so much like people have strugging,
so much stress at the moment, constantly living, like.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
Any half of them wish that they could do something
fun and social daily or at least a few times
a week. Yeah, you're going to make time for just
like one little fun thing. It doesn't have to cost
money or leave the house or anything.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
You've got to have things to look forward to.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
When people reflected on the fact that their life is
missing fun, their feeling was that they needed seventeen extra
hours a week to fix that, Like that's the average
on Like, Okay, if I it gets some time to
allocate to fun, how much time would I now?

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah, seventeen hours a week.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
In addition, that's the thing you work all week and
then you finally do get some time off and then
you've got to do chores or you know.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Yeah, and then so when they were asked like what
do you do for fun? There's great things in there,
like spending time with family and friends, dining out, outdoor activity,
some hobbies, some games, but the number one thing was
watching TV.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Which is fun. It is fun, but in a peak
of your no.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
And if you're nearly hanging out for a show and
you get to watch your show, sometimes you find that
show and you just binge it and you're just like, oh,
this is great.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, obviously I was going to I was going to
hit the new Nicholas Cage Spider Now. I've heard it's incredible.
Apparently it's amazing. Yeah, but even people who aren't fans
of Spider Man, Flitch, I'll give you a quick catch
because I'm not a fan.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Is that one of the one with the WIBs come
out of his hands.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
You've nailed its Spider Man, everything about him.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
So he plays Spider Man in a different reality where
he's like a middle older gentleman now who's like an
investigative reporter. And Nicholas Cage and so you can watch
it in black and white or like technic color. I'm
saying you gotta watch it in black and white. It's phenomenal,
and it's made to be watched in black and white,
and it's sitting in like gritty nineteen thirties New York

(05:55):
waving about it because Nicholas Cage is brilliant and he's.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
That movie he did with Pedro Pascal. What is that
called an unbearable way of talent?

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Tells?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
That made me laugh so much?

Speaker 6 (06:07):
That movie or the one where he is the center
of everyone's dreams.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I haven't watched that. Oh my god, oh my god.
What is it called?

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Hang on?

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Because the listeners will want to know gone in sixty
seconds if we're going back to some Connier.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
Dream scenario the rock. Yeah, got to watch dream scenario.
It's this world in which he's just like an average
kind of normal.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
What's your favorite Nicholas Cage movie TV series? I don't
think he's done much TV. I don't think he has.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
So he's just this professor and then suddenly everyone's dreaming
about him and they see him, they're like, that goes
in my dreams. It's great, it's great, and it's and
like fame gets to his head brilliantly love it.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
How do we start this?

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Break?

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Fun? Have fun?

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Just have like even ten little minutes of just something
silly today, but a whims from in.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
A field, do something spontaneous, take close off and go
for a ram or something. Well, don't get arrested, no no, no,
don't do that quite insane. Yeah, this is raising Arizona,
then Cage movie that, yes, and he had a baby.
There was a baby. Yeah, what was the way leaving
Las Vegas? He wins Massive face Off?

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yes, which space is a John Travolta. He's brilliant. The Bees,
It's just brilliant plays.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
That ends Flee and Haley from the unmoderated comment section.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
This is the top six.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Literally just adding Laroche per Se to my cart right now.
Excuse my ignorance. What is Laroche per se. It's a
great This sounds so like, which is it? Every time?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
And I've always bet it wash over me? But I
simply must know what it sounds like.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I was saying, I'm glad you asked for I get
Laroche perse.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
But genuinely, it's an It's like a really good respected
dermatologist recommended skincare brand that's really affordable. Yeah, and there's
this one dermatologist that I follow, and I will say,
I'm a bit I'm a dry human being, and he
recommended one of the one of the roughness smoothing lotions,
and so I'm buying some.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
She's a rough Have they got anything for your crracked heels? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:14):
Mate, they will give a sickoplast on there anyway, that's
a little additional non spawn there, right.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I appreciate it, thank you very much. Well, there is
a kangaroo on the loose. Yeah, so it was in Waco, Texas. Correct.
I do apologize.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I may have insinuated that it was in Australia, but
a kangaroo was on the loose in Waco, Texas, famous
for its cult everybody drink Jim Jones was the Jones down.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
That was the kool aid.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
And there was wasn't there a big FBI raid and
Waco there was Shannon's not.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Quick.

Speaker 8 (08:51):
It was one of the longest held on like FBI
standout like shoot offs, and it was really really tragic
on Netflix, a lot of women and children died.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Oh no. A great doco The.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Branch David, and it was a sort of a tragic
fifty one day standoff between the religious six led by
David koresh He's doing so well with this New Zealand
comedy now, oh no, that's David who just won the
show Award. I said, k when you said there's a
kangaroo on the loose in Australia, I was like, what,

(09:27):
But the ever.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
You go to a golf course and they're just there,
just get out of the west.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
It's an Australian kangaroo that now lives in Texas.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
So is he there? Heroin journey? It's hot. Leave them
at home though.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
So the video of attempted catching of said kangaroo shows
a man running after it with a net, repeatedly failing
to catch the animal, and then another another two joining
and trying to catch it with a net. And everybody
said it was giving big wiley coyote chasing the.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yes on the roadrunner.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
So yeah, and then somebody said it to rappers delight,
and it's a it's a whole, very funny video you
can watch. So, there are no wild kangaroos in the
United States. They're native to Australia, they estimate, though there
are several thousand kangaroos living in Australia held in captivity.
They can be found in licensed those exotic animal ranches
and as private pits right and famously it's why I've

(10:26):
got cockatoos that fly past my house. People have pets
and then they get sick of them and they.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Just sit the free.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Well, it's like the Colombian hippos Yeah, Pablo Eskima wanted
a couple and now there's thousands and they can't get
rid of them. Yeah, so I want to talk about
the top six ways to catch kangaroo.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Number six on the list.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
You've got to go for rocket skates, okay, and rockets
on your skates stream alongside the kangaroo. How do you
stop yourself just like it feels really like knee jerk
going going straight into a cliff or a tunnel painted
on the side of said cliff. Okay, splattering Number five
on the list of the top six ways to catch kangaroo.

(11:03):
Wait for it to run under a cliff and push
an anvil or a bowler off the top of the cliff.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Great, you've got to get your timing right. What about
a grand piano? Would that do the job? They would
also do the job. Probably sound pretty good too.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
The best part was, of course, you'd push it off
and wait for it hit the ground. It wouldn't hit
the ground, you'd miss the kangaroo. You'd go down onto
the ground and look up, and some weird things happen,
and then the piano hits you. And then when you
stand up, your teeth are piano teeth. Now that's crazy
and they play a song. Number four on the list
of the top sex I ways to catch kangaroo challenge
it to a boxing match. One kangaroos do box the

(11:37):
kangaroos and to their Australian they can't say no to
a fight, but you lose.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Have you've seen these things? And then they lean back
on their tail and they like kickbox.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, yeah, and the box I don't like them, actually,
I don't like her horrendous let the little bounce. I've
a really cute photo of August setting next to a
kangaroo at an Australia in wildlife back where you just
walked around with them and she was like two or three.
I was like, oh, this kangaroo doesn't like boot her. No,

(12:06):
those ones are pretty. They were like dose and small,
not like those. Is that a red kangaroo? Is that
the biggest and the.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Other jack one?

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Speaking of number three on the list of the top
six waste to lure a kangaroo into a trap, protein
shake for one of those jack can because they're jacks,
because they need more protein, because are they.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
On the c.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Jack?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
If they don't eat they only eat grass when you
see those those jack fighters and they're like, I'm a
vegetarian fighters and they're like, I'm actually vegan.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
There was a documentary on the pea protein.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
It was hitted by hanld Swartznaggle, famous bodybuilder.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
It's now vegan, right, vegan. Now I don't know if
it's vagan off, it's vegetarian, okay.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Number two on the less of the top six ways
to lure to catch a kangaroo cheese.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Do they like cheese?

Speaker 9 (12:54):
No?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
You know when they people first got in Australia, they
thought the kangaroo was just a giant mouse.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Did they look like a giant maun?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
They do look like a giant rodent really very peels
ugly in the face.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Oh yeah, title leaders m face.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
No, they're just they're zimpic cap.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
I'm going to show you a kangaroo. You think that's cute.
It's got master, it's got poss and face.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
And number one on the lists of the top six
ways to catch a kangaroo.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Promise that a case of too is in a trip
to Bali. Oh they love that. It'll be it'll be
straight on the plane. Kangaroo. Sorry, I just saw it.
It's a I was I just saw a baby kangaroo
and it's cute. Now they're ugly, they're Mingo's.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Okay, she's on record kangaroos and mingers and today Step.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Six Flitchorn and Haley Big Pod.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Now, this is actually a debate.

Speaker 6 (13:51):
Would you rather if going into battle fight a hundred
duck sized horses verse one horse sized duck.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
It's a it's an It's one of the internet's original questions.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Two thousand and three.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Yeah, it's a blogger that did it, and then it
went viral again in twenty twelve after Obama didn't ask
me anything asked.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, um, he left it unanswered because he was just like,
what wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
Recently, it's been reignited in New Zealand because Labor MPs
were asked the question in a training session and Barbara
Edmonds called Nikola willis a duck faced horse. She's apologized.
Kieren McNaughty said labor was already up against one hundred
duck sized horses because horses are full of shit.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Anyway, it was a whole thing. Yeah, and these are
the adults running our country. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
The idea when someone asks you a hard question, either
answer it to the best of your ability, or say
I'm sorry, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
I'll get back to you and then go and find
out and then get back to them.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
Lots of celebs have chimed in on this. Bruce Springsteen said,
a huge duck will left you up. Justin Trudeau said
a lo would be fairly unpleasant. But this is what
I love about the spinoff because this has been back
in the news. The spinoff took it a step deeper.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I want to share it with you now.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
And they asked a bunch of experts on actually what
would make the most sense.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
What experts can you ask about this?

Speaker 6 (15:15):
Them here, So one hundred duck sized horses or one
horse sized duck. They are Shane Cameron, a boxer. Two
words you said, numbers kill Take the duck.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, that's a good hundred.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Horses, overwhelm you, yeah.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
Crawling up, binding it you like that? So, so a boxer,
take the duck. Veterinarians chimedm love this. A five hundred
kg duck verse one hundred two kg horses.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
I don't think a duck would be five hundred kg
is the same size as a horse because it's got
hollow bones.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
So it can fly.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
Oh okay, they say the waight alone favors the horses.
One hundred horses plus a duck nip. A duck nip
scaled up five hundred times would be very intimidating, and
the duck can follow you on land, sky, and water.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
So she's going all the little horses. Okay.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
We've heard from a self defense instruction instructor alas you
would likely end up very much dead or with a
major concussion either way, but would kick away the tiny
horses like the end of a zombie apocalypse movie. Yeah,
you're kicking all the horses away. Gives the horse sized duck.

(16:39):
The self defense instructor would say, go for the eyes,
but it's got those eyes on the side of the head,
so don't go like you would for the.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Human like bomb.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
You got to go around the sides and they but
they were like they just feel like those major wings
flapping at you.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
A horse sized.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
They're like almost unbeatable. A duck rescue operator was asked,
I bet.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
They was stoped. They opened the downs to the phone.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
They're like, good morning, rescue duck resk Daryl speaking.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
Well, she owns a paradise duck called fuzzy gregg, She said,
already very terrifyingly territorial.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Oh yeah, oh okay, charges at her.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
This is a duck sized duck, head down, a tax fee,
food buckets, car wheels, a horse sized version of there.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Absolutely not, We're going the hundreds of duck sized horses.
Really okay?

Speaker 8 (17:30):
Now?

Speaker 6 (17:30):
A horse farm co owner was asked, Ruth, anyone with
horse experience can say that heard psychology rather than brute
force would be terrible. Yeah, because they've got like they've
got a pack mentality there.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
So she's going horse sized duck. Yeah, yeah, she's going
horse sized duk. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
An author was asked Rachel King.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Tiny horses would only fight you if you were threatening
to them.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
So just go up to the little horses, give them
little pets and give them some little hair, make them
rush the little manes.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
They were saying, leave them the hell alone. She's fighting
the horse eyed duck. And a Canterbury equal clinic probably
like what they say. They have the best response one
of the great philosophical questions of our time up.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
There with does God exist? But then they see it.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
Our staff are too busy saving genuine horses lives to
answer the question. But if they'll take the duck? Yes, okay, great,
So I think that's a really in depth discussion. What
are you going? I'm going on hundred horseesed ducks say,
I'm sorry, one hundred ducks side.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
They're attacking regardless, Yeah they are. What are you doing for?
And am I allowed weapons?

Speaker 9 (18:46):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Along to us as the animal we are a sword? Sure?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
No, I don't think a sword would be great against
one hundred ducks.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
I'm finding the horse side is dark? Can I just
berzooka the horse size duck?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
You've got to get away from it because you can't
fire a berserker at point blank range.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Don't tell me what I can't and can't do with?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Are you making a noble sacrifice to save the rest
of humanity from this drive?

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Dark?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Like someone's think of the size of that roast duck? Though?

Speaker 7 (19:22):
Does that m podcast needwork? Play music Awards?

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Last night? I know, Georgia Wayne brook Win, I believe yeah,
looks looked like a good Night one International, Best Part,
great performances.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
And today it's if you've got a Kiwi Music T
shirt of your favorite band or artists, wear it because
that is what today is all about. The last day
of New Zealand music mark fast through T shirts in
the technically not the last day of New Zealand, the
last day Sunday, it's the last working day, the last
business day of business.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
It's always the last Friday of maya.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
It is shirt I've got yeah split Ends. My parents
went to split Ends a couple of weeks ago. My
mu'm got a teach's.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Warne says here, wearing nothing because he's naked and famous
as his famously good.

Speaker 10 (20:22):
It is so silly, silly, silly that stole silly, little, silly.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Little Poul.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Have you ever been tempted to walk away and start
a new life, just throw it all in? I saw
my algorithm decided to serve me up a young lady
who did this. She moved to She is like, I
don't care, what's Catherine going to do next? Here's Catherine
and this is her speaking and third person Catherine swimming
in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Crete because
she decided to sell all of the things and throw

(20:56):
it all in and moved to Creepe. Dish ever, plain no,
not really sounds like a quarter life or midlife christis
and had that energy love her and then the next
right at the end of the real as she linked
to her only fans, which was way you could help her. Right, Okay,
you're going to pay the bills if you're leaving you
to corporate job and eat prey loving you do.

Speaker 6 (21:17):
I mean, I've got one planned, but I haven't had
the thought yet.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Your mid life crisis. Yeah, I'm going to move to
tailan and remember becoming the end. That's right, So these
cats involved, isn't there.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
I'm going to work at the Animal Wealthy Center and write.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I tell you what I'm surprised to tell you, seventy
percent of people.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Been tempted to walk away from their life and start
a new one.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I just people just know in three courts, end up
in these life in relationship, in these situations, and I
actually don't like it, but I'm here, but I always
make it work.

Speaker 6 (21:48):
So many times you're like, are you just at high
school and you don't know what you're doing? And then
they're like go to union and you're like, oh, okay,
so I guess I'll just do this. And you get
to the end of that and you're like, O gause,
We'll just.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Get a job in there. And then you get to fourty,
you're like, I hate and.

Speaker 11 (22:01):
Hate.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Well, twenty eight percent of people said no, they haven't,
but seventy two percent said they have.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Let's get some feedback. Isn't that wild lover?

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Dan?

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Yep, I've considered that, but that catholic ilk keeps dragging
me back, don't Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Biggarten, the shadows of Catholic guilt. I tossed it from
guy time. Oh my god, he's been You just released her.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I just released it. Okay, that's great. Well, Dan's probably
Dan off Nowaday moved by. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Bryan's the
years My wife and I did this when Trump was elected,
we thought about life in a different country.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
This is one of our American listens.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Oh wow, yeah, Angie, that's what I chose to study
in New Zealand, the country where I knew nobody and
I could reinvent myself.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Oh cool.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Well, I don't know anything about Angie, but she's her profile.
Purchase a couple. She's coupled up. Oh yeah, a lovely
love ways. She's found it hopeless place.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
You know, it was the bottom of the earth with
the last throe ever.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
We found love in a hobbits place that works. Yeah,
Chaz said, I literally did this on a whem. I
sold my house and everything I own and moved to
the UK eight years later, literally actually nine years today,
I'm still here.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Wow, nice to have you, Big.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Said, I'm twenty five years married and only ever had
one partner and a mum of three and have worked
full time throughout at all.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
What do you reckon? Ye Rick?

Speaker 2 (23:24):
I reckon when it's all screaming and chaotic and wears my.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Shit, you're wearing it. You'd just be like, where are
my carcakes? I'm just gonna drive.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Say, And they just fined mum's car at the parking
rider Yes, unclaimed three months and then she's here belonging.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
She'll start again and Chechoslovakia.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Lydia said, I did this. I was a corporate girlie.
Now I'm a full time acrobat.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Love that's insane. Oh my god. I love that.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Amen, every single day and this is anonymous, by the way, Amen,
every single day. I want to run away and become
a lesbian. Being married with kids makes it feel impossible.
For the love of God, please do not read my name.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Out amazing And they're like, Mum, was that your name?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
So this is a little peak behind the curtain, little
how the sausage is made. We put these up on
our social media account. If you've always wondered and you
want to vote on them, They're on our Instagram account.
Like dailys Shannon curates the cream of the crop. Now,
when people are like Anonymous pleased, she always crops out
their name because she knows and social media or whatever

(24:36):
the name is. She just knows that you'll try and
pink at their name. And then Shennon's just putting this
all a little fold of somewhere. One day she's going
to write a book called Anonymous My ass.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
Shannon knows more about New Zealand than the government.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
No, she's very trustworthy, how Shennon, Yeah, this is what
she crops out names.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Why she does so that we don't say it.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Staying in New Elling is hard right now, cold, working
long hours, feel like you just can't keep your head
above what are watching Friends Moves for Australia and love.
It is getting pretty tempting. Laurie said, all the damn time,
but I can't leave my cat. Here's my life.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Bring them Edmund, but admin, wait till your cat dies.
I don't look fo Ellen.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
A call to the cabins inside the bubbling brook has
been a loud late this is ash ash that sounds
like so much, so many algorithms of like this and
some quiet, and it's just like a cabin beside the
river and I'm just like, give it wildfires. It's a
very wet bush but then dampness.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
You know you can't mold.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
You a trek eight hours to the shop to get
to mix it mold because your cavens moldy.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
But it's never going to be easy. So we asked
for the little pole.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Have you ever thought about just walking away and starting
a brand new life?

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Seventy two percent.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Of you have plays it ends flesh one and Haley.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Household name in our generation for sure, millennials or know
whos chappel Korby is because it was the great like
warning from our scared boomer pearents and maybe Genny X
parents that the world's out to get us. Everybody wants
to plant drugs on you when you're going overseas. Don't
be a drug You'll end up in front of a

(26:13):
Balinese firing. So yeah, that's right. She flew into Bali,
Australia as millions do millions and jillions and bajillions of
Australians to go to Barley And it was a boogie
board bag, correct, and it had four and a half
kilograms of marijuana.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
And now I'm the marijuana.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Expert, but that's a lot of marijuana. Yeah, that's four
and a half kilograms. I just imagined, like a dehydrated salad.
How much dehydrated salad you'd need to You'd need so much,
you need so much kale and it's.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
So much a regano.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Yeah, it is why there is that whole industry at
Australia New Zealand airports of people plastic wrapping their bags. Yeah,
or such a waste of plastic, that stuff made of
corn start shit, because that can totally be made of
that stuff that the bin liners are made of. We
only need it for one trip, yeah, and then it
can get put in some compost. So it was the

(27:04):
twenty first anniversary of Chappelle Korby's arrest this week thing.
He seen the thing and we were talking about it
in studio and Shannon was just like, what are you
talking about? And we know she loves out her. This
is producer Shannon. She loves her true crime. So we
seen her on a Chappelle Corby mission. She's watched some stuff,

(27:24):
including this clip we're about to play from a two
thousand and four to sixty minutes interview. When she first
got to talk to Australian media about the situation.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
I opened up and I just.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Seen I don't know what it was, but I just
thought it's not so I didn't put it there. You
knew instantly it was no. No, I just knew there
was something there.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
And what worried you about that?

Speaker 5 (27:47):
It's just an instant click.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
I've seen this kind of things in the movie, but
I didn't know what it was at the time. I
just knew that all I put in there was no
boggy but on my foot desk.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
She didn't even get to go to Finn's beach club. Shit,
oh loved it. Nine years she was in prison, yet
nine how many times you reckon she got Barley d
In Indonesian present, you become accustomed to the wall.

Speaker 12 (28:09):
I wonder if she's got someone's like going during that
dirty She's like, I don't give a ship, but that
obviously she she still claims that she didn't put it
there and someone else did.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
She did the time and producer, Shannon you educated yourself
yesterday as you do you love your true crime on
Chappelle Corby, what do.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
You you take on a legendary Chappelle.

Speaker 8 (28:32):
So you guys kind of top lined the story for
me when I told you I hadn't heard about it,
and you said there was four and a half kgys
of weed in her bag, and I was like, okay,
sure whatever.

Speaker 13 (28:41):
I watched the sixty minutes.

Speaker 8 (28:43):
I had not comprehended, like you said, how much volume
that was. And when you see the footage of it
coming out of her bag, it was more of a
surfboard bag.

Speaker 13 (28:54):
She had a boogie board and a surfboard bag.

Speaker 8 (28:55):
Which ismssed for it is embarrassing, But it literally was
like the size of a European pillow. It was so
big that I just can't comprehend how you wouldn't see that.

Speaker 13 (29:10):
So funny, but yeah, watching her family.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
I'm just getting to take on this.

Speaker 6 (29:16):
So your take is that it's it's so large you
would have known it was in there.

Speaker 13 (29:21):
Yeah, I think she's so silly.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
It was everybody's take at the time. How do you
have four and a half pages at a time bullyboard bag,
which wouldn't weigh that in total, So you're doubling the
way and not notice.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
But it's so big.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
Why would you have it just so readily available there?

Speaker 3 (29:38):
I think it gives big someone slipped it in.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
The way.

Speaker 8 (29:44):
She was so like, it's honestly, it was Belle Gibson
two point zero for me. It was so funny the
way she spoke. Her family was in the sixty minute Stoco.
They were like, he's just so said. We hadn't been
to Bali in years, you know, and her sister lived
in Bali, And basically they were just saying it was
the mafia and it was just this whole thing, but
there is no way the mafia would want to plant

(30:06):
four and a.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Half made breast Momentarily, have you wanted to read anything
about this mafia controlling the olive oil industry?

Speaker 3 (30:13):
And yes, yes, what's going on there?

Speaker 2 (30:16):
What do you mean what's happening? They're giving us substandard
olive oil. It's not extra virgin, but I.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Buy the extra vigion cold press. No, no, you're telling
me it's been around. It's slut it's slutty olive oil.

Speaker 13 (30:30):
It's hot.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
It's monstrously hotly breast slot olive oil.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I don't want to be pouring hot slut onto.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Sorry, you're round here, that lovely little kale. You're whipping
up with anchovies.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
You're making your own dressing for it. Yeah, ol wow, mafia,
the mafia goodness. Okay, wow, now I know so did you?

Speaker 9 (30:58):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Back the whole thing fast? I found it so well.

Speaker 8 (31:01):
One of the things I found most crazy. I've never
heard the name Chappelle before.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
That was just a wild stuff for me.

Speaker 6 (31:07):
You never had anyone call Chappelle, never heard Dave Chappelle,
but that's a surname.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
She got back into Australia and then didn't she go
on some reality show or she's done interviews and she
she also made resin clocks.

Speaker 8 (31:18):
Yeah, I've got a deep dive f on her Instagram
and it is a wild like. She is just a
very interesting person, is Yeah to me, it's on par
with Belle Gibson.

Speaker 14 (31:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
And do you think she did it well?

Speaker 8 (31:30):
I think she's just a big like just was bigger
than her boots thought this was going to be fine.
I reckon she talked to her boyfriend maybe and was
like easy peace.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
You know, I read a lot of dark romance that
involved the mafia, and all I have to say is
how did they yes?

Speaker 9 (31:46):
Hot?

Speaker 8 (31:46):
But also how did they know that she was going
to come through with that surfboard to put it back,
to put it in there?

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yeah it wasn't her, Okay. So we've some messages in
and you must read the book. It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
It answers all the quick students and fill It's really
really good, and it's clear. I have no doubt after
reading the book she didn't do it. There's so many
things like the video of her coming into the airport
with a boogie board bag that we noticed a large bulge.

Speaker 6 (32:12):
Someone came out in twenty thirteen, right saying that someone
who worked at the airport at the time had been
talking about planting Marian Right, it's fresh about plants, you.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (32:23):
How long to put she actually in prison for ninety years?
Was that her whole service? She firing at the start
they were going to kill it.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yeah, they were going to fire, We're going to Yeah,
she was up for the and then then afterwards as
the Barley nine yeah yeap. And they don't mark around
that way well, were they meth or heroin or something
they were going to?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
You don't think there's a couple of things. It still
might be tied to a post.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
So what crime are we getting behind as a show.
Is it Chappelle or is it Cony?

Speaker 2 (32:56):
We don't have any answers. Home she's making resin and
own to a thirteen year old. Yeah, well, I'm glad
that you could learn some internet crime true crime guys.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
Fletcher and I will remember this very clearly.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Um, somebody said Shannon's next investigation into some historic New
Zealand crime has got to be those twins that were
based out of Nelson.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
The Ingham yours.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
I was going to call them the.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Where they they were just fascinating life jumped off the
back of a Korean Carella or a boat container shops.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Yeah, oh you'll love it. You love that they got
invited to a rooftop party.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Homes.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
He invited them to his famous TV and Z Homes
Christmas party with Eva grayfles rested, rest and peace. Also
Homes and Evan Graffers were really into some New Zealand history.
Herework Brad Olsen economists, and let's start first, Brad with
any news for people like me, single men with cats.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Oh you know what, I didn't see a bunch of
line for that.

Speaker 9 (34:01):
Surprisingly, you know, normally there is something, but no singles
lives with cats. Look next time I see the Finance
min specifically any anything on the cat front going forward.
What is interesting is that if you were thinking of
doing some big, big charitable donations, then by big I
mean over one hundred thousand dollars which.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Are now capped.

Speaker 9 (34:22):
Well yeah, I mean, I mean that's probably how much
you have to spend on a cat right each year
the charitable donation. But no, look to be to be honest,
you're not going to notice a lot from the budget
as an individual. It's more that there's a whole bunch
of other changes behind the scenes around funding for councils
to do a whole lot more in terms of infrastructure.
There's more for education, some two billion dollars over the

(34:44):
next four years into education.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
There's a lot more hospitals being built.

Speaker 9 (34:47):
So all of that good stuff is coming through, But
you're not going to notice any real money in your
back pocket.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
I had a lot.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
I was having a little look at winners and losers
of the twenty twenty six budget winners. Whinston Peters seems
to be sort of at the top.

Speaker 9 (35:00):
There, very much so, I mean, especially given the man
got a billion dollars for rail so you know, I
we should be all we should all be able to
go and you know, have a bit of a train
ride at some point, right, surely you know a billion
boxes a lot. Yeah, surely you can sort of get
one one free ticket each over the next couple of years.

(35:21):
But yes, I mean a huge amount of There also
a lot more for International Development aid and our sort
of diplomat.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
So to see.

Speaker 9 (35:28):
So you know, if you become an infat staffer and
go over and represent the country, hopefully things will be
a bit better again. Slim pickings though in the government services.
In terms of government set cutbacks, probably one of the
bigger losers, or at least changes around was fees free
has been scrapped, which I actually don't mind because it
wasn't very targeted. The replacement for fees free is a

(35:50):
whole bunch more.

Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yes, well, I died that I paid for mine today
they not do that in the art pale.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
No, No, they didn't do it when I was at UNI. No,
but that is that gone it's gone.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
It's got so it was, it was there for a
couple of years.

Speaker 9 (36:09):
It was changed last year from paying for your first
year of UNI free to paying for your last year
of UNI free.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
And now it's gone in total.

Speaker 9 (36:16):
And instead they're replacing it with a whole bunch of
additional training, but more specific on certain areas. So there's
like I think ten thousand additional places to trades training.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
So instead of sort of.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
Just saying that we're going to pay for literally any
university degree or any tertory degree, now it's a little
bit more specific on the skills that we think we
might need.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
I love that we're training up the next generation of
trades to move to Australia brand, so.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
They're all getting trained up.

Speaker 9 (36:43):
So those would help born on with all the heavy,
heavy equipment he's got to move and bo in recent time.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
I can't afford to trades. Therefore it's a lot of
DIY I see it.

Speaker 6 (36:53):
I'm just looking at my little list here. Creept me
if I'm wrong. Not great news for the art sector.
Ballet film Commission, Music Commission, New Zealand Syphony Orchestra cuts.

Speaker 4 (37:00):
Yeah, everyone's having to take a fair bit of cutbacks
as well.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
I always say that's good.

Speaker 9 (37:07):
Yeah, well for the minute. I mean again, this is
sort of just just budget twenty twenty six. There's still
a lot of big, difficult spending decisions in the future.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Now, what's happening with fuel prices?

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Like our rents and mortgages, the cost of living brand
because they're run things still they were despiring at each
other again today, Yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Mean, look, clearly things that are still mad over there.

Speaker 9 (37:30):
That the government has set aside four hundred and fifty
million dollars in a sort of emergency fund if things
were to get even worse. Remembering that again, you know,
as bad as things are at the moment, fuel prices
have been a heck of a lot higher they were.
You know, diesel was nearly at some places was four
dollars a literril.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
MNE's come down around where I am am I little
local one.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
So so you know, things are better.

Speaker 9 (37:51):
But the government said, look, if things get worse, we've
got some more money that we can start to throw
at the problem.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
The big question.

Speaker 9 (37:57):
One of the interesting parts is that fuel as we're
going to go up anyway from the start of next
year because the government was going to put a few
more increases through to fuel lex sized duty and the
road user charges and similar people buy.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
They look unlikely to come through quite as quickly.

Speaker 9 (38:15):
We just you say that. You say that, but three
hundred million dollar cost every six months, so that might
well mean that, yes, you don't have to pay quite
as much, but you might encounter more potholes.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
It's all rup and all wheel drive on just cranking.
Then they need to do. What was it you telling
me about the what government? Well it was it you gander.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
It was an Africa nation and the warlord general and
charge of the country said, if he hires a roading
contractor to make a road and then there's a pothole,
than six months he'll fill it with their head.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
I will raise that with Transport Minister Chris Bishop next time.
I seem and just figure out.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
I think, even just one pothole, but there's so many,
there's so many, to so many.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Flowers.

Speaker 9 (39:03):
Yeah, I think next year you guys need to come
down to budget. We need to get you in front
of treasury sort of thinking.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Through lots so broad the price of wine.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
There was my Christmas yesterday. Don't don't you boo.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Yeah, I know, but do you feel a little black blair.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
It was a bit blur like people were saying it's
an election, Yeah, maybe hoping for a few sweetness and
it's a little bit no frizy, kind.

Speaker 11 (39:26):
Of like guys with cats. Where was my camp biscuit allowance?
Think about people like cletch bread.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
Government's got no money.

Speaker 9 (39:35):
I mean, like at least clear if they didn't want
to spend, the more they're going to have to sting
you with higher texas.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
So I do love that there's five point six million
dollars additional for musical instruments and skulls, even though we've
cut funding to the symphony orchestra, so there's no point
learning an instrument, but a lot of recorders that.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
A lot of recorders.

Speaker 6 (39:53):
Parent was passed off about that line in there, Yeah,
no shaking ukulele.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Recorders your maracas.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
And when do we eat the rich? When we snack bread?

Speaker 2 (40:05):
What's the best way to eat them as a slow
cook at the preferred Yeah.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
I mean it probably depends on if you've put them
in a pothole or not.

Speaker 6 (40:12):
Well, actually we should use the Rochester fill pole gravel
in my slow cooked politicians no, I think we you
make a choice day.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
You put some of the pothole and some of the
crop pot.

And he said, I've got to lunch at three forty five,
but I could meet before.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
And I was like, I let it go. I didn't
argue with them.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Then. Now three forty five last was an early dinner
or a late lunch this weekend. Somebody said to our well,
what if we do at lunch at about four. I
was like that that's an early dinner.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
That's an early dinner. I said nine at the time,
but don't call it what it's not. It's not lunch.
And then somebody's like, oh, brunch is at one. No,
brunch can't be after twelve. Brunch is going to be
wrapped up by twelve. By the way, you meeting, it's
a lunch drinks one o'clock is that's just called lunch? Yeah,
Producer Shannon, what time is your brunch this weekend?

The booking is called bottomless brunch, and there's two options
for the booking twelve twenty thirty deir kids.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
That's four weesday, so many messages and someone four thirty.
That's not even brunch territory. It's early dinner.

Speaker 8 (42:55):
It's bottomless fries though too yore.

Speaker 6 (43:51):
Someone says, that's dunch three forty five, Doctor Shawnee, that's dunch.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
That's dinner, lunch, dinner, lunch. I mean, I find it
a funny term. I might allow it, didn't. I like Lina,
my mom takes lunch.

Speaker 6 (44:04):
Lina, my mom takes lunch at three teen, so you
can pick me up from the bus stop after school.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
I eat dinner at three o'clock.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
When take she's making the most of your lunch break.
Hopefully she's eating before before then. Though.

Speaker 6 (44:17):
Yeah, but we're weird because we start our days at
four thirty.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Yeah, we at a different but just a normal person.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
Somebody said, three forty five is when you feed your
kid's dinner. It's no time to start a lunch. Lunch
on a workday is two pm, so I don't have
to speak to any of my colleagues, and the afternoon
goes fast because I come back and it's alreay three o'clock.
Now I can understand the lunch break, but we're talking
about like the meal term. Yeah, my lunch is three pm.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
I start work at eight am. That's too late.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
You start work at eight am, you're gonna be having
twelve o'clock lunch. You're gonna be so hungry. Three forty
five is clearly learned territory, but only just once hitt
four pm.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
That's dunch. I think four pm is too late to
even have an lunch or a you have a snack. Yeah, yeah,
we're going to dinner at sex. Well you're having a
chuck herdery border.

Speaker 6 (45:05):
Or some cheese and crackers with your first wine on
a snacks.

Speaker 7 (45:11):
The ZM Podcast Network lay z MS Fleshborn and Haley
Is it weird?

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Is it weird?

Speaker 2 (45:16):
I don't know? Is it weird?

Speaker 1 (45:18):
To tell me if it's weird?

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Maybe it is, Maybe it's done.

Speaker 15 (45:22):
I don't want to because the people will think I'm weird.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
So tell me, is it is it weird?

Speaker 3 (45:28):
It's our new segment Is it weird?

Speaker 2 (45:30):
And you message us if the HDM just slide into
the DMS. Yeah, with a conundrum a question.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
Is this weird?

Speaker 6 (45:37):
It all started with a guy who left us as
condom on as willy, and then we were like okay,
and then.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
This is born. Yeah, that was unanimously weird, by the way,
but that's the thing. People do that because I don't
want people to have their babies anyway. Well, guys, I've
got a message directly on my DMS, and it's interesting.
This is a little bit of a gray area, and
I feel like, let's give it a gouy. Well, dear listener,
you tell us nine. Is this weird? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (46:02):
Okay, she messages, I don't know if this is if
this is even gonna work for Is it weird?

Speaker 3 (46:05):
I don't know, Anonymous, Please and please don't judge. We
would never, we would never.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
My husband has recently cheated on me. He came clean
immediately and told me everything, all the details. After some
work in therapy, I've decided to forgive him. Here's the
is it weird part? This is not the first time.
This has happened numerous times throughout our ten year relationship,
and despite the damage it does, I love him in
our life, so much, and the idea of leaving him
just breaks my heart.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
So I guess is it weird that I stay? Wow? Okay,
now that's all the information we have. We don't know
the circumstance.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
It is labeled as cheating, so it's not like he
they have got an agreement. No, sounds like they need
to go down the road of ethical non monogamy.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
It does, but that's not what she wants. So the
whole ethical part of that, it's a two sided thing.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
Then, yeah, it is weird. Well, give us a nine
six nine six message or a call in.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Especially if you've been in this situation, because a lot
of people do get over this and you know, go
for yes. I mean once maybe, I don't know does
she say how many times?

Speaker 6 (47:04):
She's just numerous, ten years, but she said I love
him and our life so much.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
The idea of leaving him breaks my heart.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
Yeah. I just don't think we're meant to be mahogany.
You know, I don't think that we're a mahogany. Somebody
said it is in your mention of kids? Are they
married married, any relationship?

Speaker 3 (47:23):
No mention of kids? Okay, okay, Well, what is it weird?
Like business? Situation stays she loves them a lot.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
What do you think nine six nine six oh eight
hundred dollars at M Let us know, so tell me?
Is it? Is it?

Speaker 4 (47:38):
Where?

Speaker 1 (47:39):
What's got up next?

Speaker 2 (47:40):
Is it weird?

Speaker 3 (47:40):
Set up? Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (47:41):
If you have if you have a question that you
want the nation to help you answer, just slide into
the DMS.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
If the HM, I'm.

Speaker 6 (47:48):
Starring that message that's so funny. Anyway, this isn't funny.
A woman's husband keeps cheating on it? Is it where
that she stays she loves him in their life very much?
The bloody text machine?

Speaker 3 (47:59):
Yeah, okay, let's she needs to find a new therapist.
It's not normal. It's disrespect for you were better than this.

Speaker 6 (48:04):
You're exposing yourself to pain, hurt, and the possibility of
life changing diseases. Also a few people being like, go, yeah,
that's right to the doctor. Someone just message in saying
rumbitch rum um.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Not weird.

Speaker 6 (48:17):
It's just sad you're settling as a divorce. See on
the other side of heartbreak, it's not as scary as
it sounds.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
Yeah, and this happiness on the other side she gives
she's giving him.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
A free pass. To just keep on cheating and seems
happy with that. She's done ten years already, so what
will it be the crosses the line for her?

Speaker 3 (48:33):
Yeah, only live one life.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
I've been in her shoes, married with three children and
cheated on multiple times. So it was better to stay
for our children. But in the end I had to
leave for my own mental health and well being. Now
live a way less stressful, less worry, and less anxious life.
I forgot the word life on the end. Yeah, it
might have sound like a dramatic pause. Yeah, he's obviously
got something going on. Otherwise, why would you stay? You've

(48:56):
been played for a fool.

Speaker 6 (48:57):
Yeah, so just one other message, though, we all have
our own ability to decign our deal breakers and lives.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Infidelity is not a deal breaker for her, then that's fine.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Then why is she asking yes when someone it's nice?
It's not sitting right. They asked the question. It's almost
like they just need to push.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
Yeah, so we if we have to roll it one
way or the other. But the jingles too jolly, But
I think we're saying it is weird. It is weird. God,
it's a bit of a sad sense.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
The players too, Surely confirm.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
That's weird?

Speaker 1 (49:31):
Is that en podcast network boy?

Speaker 3 (49:35):
As far as highlights go, yeah, this is yesterday's highlight
for me.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
I think you see it on our social see it
on socials. We had a countdown because it was a
long tease. We came back from the break laughing very loudly,
and we wanted to share it with you, but we
didn't have the time, and we said, join us tomorrow.
We'll tell you why we laughed so hard. Long te
and it took all my fancy. When I saw I
remembered I'd forgotten about it. I saw the thing on
our socials. I laughed again. So here's what happened out

(50:01):
of nowhere just before actually.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
No warning or sort of. It didn't lead into anything
that we're already talking about. It was it was out
of left field.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Flinch says, like, twenty seconds before you go back on ere,
my friend thinks I should get an earring, and the
stud in my ear Harry styles in him and we
can't talk about it, and we just because it wasn't
like how ridiculous is that?

Speaker 3 (50:28):
It is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
It's ridiculous, it is, But at the time when you
said it, it wasn't like it sounded like you were
presenting it as like a possibility that it was going
to happen.

Speaker 3 (50:38):
No, and I just laughed. I just laughed a stud earring. Right,
I'm not a sleeper.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
I'm imagining it. You're not a You're not a flashy guy.
It's going to be what like a gold stuff.

Speaker 6 (50:52):
You know, weird jewelry. So you haven't made you don't
know if you're a silver or gold. I know he's
not a goal because of your skin toe go well
with your skin turn and your eye color. I'm not
getting like it's ridiculous. So when we get Fletcher's air
piss next week on the air, are we doing because
there is concerns you don't want to get the wrong air.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
You don't get the gay You'll remember the gay the
gay air, and this is news to you. Basically, in
the nineties, your rise got an ear pissed. Guys only
really got one ear piss at the time, one air.
One air was the gay hair, but no one ever
really knew which one the right ear can.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
Gen Z is still a gay year.

Speaker 13 (51:36):
When I was at school in the two thousands, it was.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Definitely a gay Okay, there was a gay the left
or the right.

Speaker 13 (51:42):
It was whatever the person got.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
Yeah, that's what we did.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
A guy called Scott, He's like to get my ear
piss and we're like, make sure you don't get the
gay air And then he turned up to school with
an airring and we're like gay the gay year. So
he took that out and got the other ear done,
which coincidentally was the actual gay year.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
Teste fantais that was. It was a different type of bullying.
You're forty sixty years old. You've never had a PIERCEO.
I don't have a tango or a piercing and I
never will. I said that once. No, yeah, now you've
got a tattoo. And it was on my couch getting
a tattoo at a party. I was like, who is
this guy?

Speaker 6 (52:19):
I think this is always a moment where we just
try new things. I have a friend that is a
piercer and the thing per you.

Speaker 3 (52:27):
Can take it out if you don't like it. Is
going to love it. He's going to the ride. We're
gonna cover the mir's quickly. He's going to love it.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
He don't.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
He was born to be Yeah, I can hear you.
I can get it.

Speaker 8 (52:42):
In the gay.

Speaker 3 (52:46):
I told you because a message.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
They just teenage sons, both of them have there's still
a gay year, okay, but which is a gay year?

Speaker 16 (52:53):
It's not right?

Speaker 3 (52:54):
Which is the gay year? If you're looking at someone,
it's a left on the left.

Speaker 2 (52:58):
No, it's your left. It's this age right right. So
if you have you right now, put your right hand out.

Speaker 3 (53:04):
Yep, that's the gay. Grab your that's what if you're
left handed, Someone said, then you can't be gay. The
true revelation here is that Fletch is forty six.

Speaker 6 (53:13):
Homous is seven next month. My dad look at him
as gay. It is the right ear.

Speaker 3 (53:20):
So we're right right as the gay. It's not happening
season Banana's. Banana's supermarket is just like a practiced yelling out.
I don't know. I have lots of male friends, hitter
Row and gayer Row. I can't wait to meet her
gay exclusively social hanging out with them. Gay marriages were

(53:50):
gay marriages. No, that wasn't a that was just a party. Friends.
Tell them, Tell them. Michael and Ryan, I thought they
were friends. I just thought they were very good friends.

Speaker 6 (54:02):
But Ernie, I called them, do you know who you like?
So much he's got a.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Stud which side I'll have to ask her because.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
If he's got but he is gay, he's gonna happen
in the gay and the not. My husband has both
ears piers as this is making bisexual.

Speaker 6 (54:22):
Because I know straight men that have their ears pierce.
Now it's very like it's a different time. Of course,
two earrings, which and they're not gay.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Somebody here they remember at the time it was based
off what he had. George Michael had piers the gay year.
George Michael wasn't gay back then, was he until he was? Yeah,
well it's not happening anyway. The reason the reason I
told you is because it's so ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
But I have a friend.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
It's constantly saying you should get this done, and I'm like, no,
that's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
Producer Carwhen Lyncher's birthday, SA.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Text tag it straight out of you don't like it,
but just to get it done and get a photo
right in.

Speaker 6 (55:05):
The gay air you literally, if you take it out
within the month, it'll close up and you won't even notice.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
What was that message? Is that private?

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (55:15):
Hang on? Let me just jump into our group chat.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Yeah anyway, single, Okay, somebody said, I've just consulted the
teenagers single piercing, and either ear is gay.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Apparently straights get both ends done. No, they don't straight,
so I get both both ears done.

Speaker 4 (55:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Someone's asked which of your ears feels gayer? Because I
look at your ears, and I'll tell you which one's gayer.
It's the gay year. It's your right one. It's the
gayest of them all. Okay, well, so.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
We will crown your ear the gayest of the morning
on your birthday, twenty third of June.

Speaker 3 (55:52):
Get please hope, I hope that.

Speaker 6 (55:54):
So the twenty third of June, that is a Tuesday,
join us, lay, it's not happen because we're going away
that weekend down to your hometown and your Plymouth.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
You can debut and you can hear it at your hometown.
You can break some.

Speaker 1 (56:12):
Podcast Network plays that ms flesh Onorn and Hailey.

Speaker 15 (56:19):
Fact of the Day, Day day, day, day, Do Do
Do Do Do Do Do Do, Dude Do Dooo.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
It's Kids TV week and we're looking at the darker
side of them for Fact of the Day this week
and today we're touching on Pingo Pungu Ottmar Gutman invented
pingo and unfortunately right in the middle of a season
two so called Pingo at the fun Fair, and it
was all plast the scene flamation style incredible, which is

(56:56):
why there are only five minutes, right, because it's painstaking.
They've yeah, move, take a photo, move, take a photo.
Do that a million times?

Speaker 3 (57:06):
How about no? So how about AI just does it
in a second?

Speaker 2 (57:09):
Now, died in the middle of the clamation sequence for
a season two episode called Pingu at the fun Fair.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
Now, did he fall on the plaster scene?

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (57:22):
I was joking, I know.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
So I was like, he'd because it said he died
right in the middle of making it, and so I
was like, I did the same. Did he fall on
the plastiscent? I'm searching. Did he form the unsubstantiated yes? Wow,
So he just had a heart attack, killed over. He
had a heart attack and curled over. His longtime friend
stepped in and finished the episode called Pingu at the
fun Fair.

Speaker 3 (57:43):
You can look that up. You can find it online.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
His widow then signed over all production rights to a
toy company in nineteen ninety three, and if she'd kept it,
she would be She did get a bit of money
for it, but it was only on season two. It
ran until the year two thousand. It was revived in
two thousand and three in the UK, rebooted in Japan
in twenty seventeen, and a new season has been announced
but yet to be made and I yet to be released.

(58:08):
I saw there's merch in everything as well. Yeah, yeah,
there's merch and everything merch. I've got more pingo?

Speaker 3 (58:13):
Wait, how are we doing this without hearing your phenomenal peingo?

Speaker 4 (58:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (58:19):
Are you going to headline with that? I get headline
with it? I think, can we get a clip?

Speaker 6 (58:23):
You do more facts, I'll get a clip and then
we'll headline with your version of her.

Speaker 3 (58:27):
I'll pingo. David Hasselhoff recorded a pingo rap, of course
he did. Okay, well, I'm finding that first.

Speaker 2 (58:33):
It's just called pengu Dance and it was released exclusively
in Switzerland featuring samples of Pinguish out now. Pinguish is
a language. Languish is the language that's spoken. It was
invented by a man who did the He was the
Italian voice actor.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
Carlo stupid hashof Pigoo Dance. That's just the theme. So
that's bulled you eleven stuff your.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Cloud. It's like a full Blond Kids song to the
to the Pengo thing. So the guy that invented the
language is an Italian voice actor called Carlo Bonomi. He
did invent actual languages, like the guys that did the
Game of Thrones language. Yes, he invented actual languages.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
And also it's officially about N you with a normalot G,
N you with a normal G. You shouldn't be handled
with a T. Like I've got some pingo voice that's

(59:44):
so weird. They're just eating laughing. I'm gonna g it
is real real rough it the dead all the same guy.

(01:00:07):
By the way, really that's pingo domination. I'm still throwing.
I want to hear this is slapping on the ice.
I always really like that sound. I thought sound I
need a new new you find.

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Yeah. So there's a band episode as well of Pengo,
a Walrus nightmare episode where Pengo has a a nightmare.

Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
He's, uh, this is a this is a compilation. Listen,
it's not a T. It's a green guys, this is
on YouTube. This is a one minute new No, it's

(01:00:55):
it's not.

Speaker 4 (01:00:57):
Nude.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
So there's an episode where Pengo's mum slaps him in
the face and Pengo smacks him on the head, and
then Pingo gets stuffed in a cupboard where he pretends
to vomit when he and where he runs away from home,
and then a walrous nightmare episode occurs where a warros
chases him trying to eat him because that's what happens
with apparently, and yeah, this Warrous nightmare gave kids nightmares

(01:01:21):
as well, so they pulled the episode.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
You can probably still find it. So today's yeah, yeah
stomp away to be like, play the real thing again,
Play the real thing again.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Good. So I think today's largest revelation from Pingo fact
of the day is that it's not noot, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:02:02):
Fact of the day, day day day day.

Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:02:08):
Doo doo doo do do do do do doo, dude doo.

Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Flesh worn and Hailey, there is a.

Speaker 6 (01:02:21):
Woman who suspects that New Zealanders are very ageist when
it comes to dating. And then once you pass the
age of forty, probably it just gets harder and harder
and harder.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
And then the older men get because they're aging with us.

Speaker 6 (01:02:37):
Yep, they just want younger, younger, younger, This is very
true for a New Zealander who's seventy one. She said
she's tried on the apps. She's tried find someone in
zed dating.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
The trade me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Everything, t t trade me for I want to pay
the success fee one old.

Speaker 6 (01:02:55):
Yeah, she's like at my age, you know, no one's healthy.
Everyone got cancer, lopping bits off.

Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
She's just okay, aging is gromet.

Speaker 14 (01:03:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
She was like, her last serious relationship ended five years
ago and that was, you know, like not a very
long relationship.

Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
She was like, it is just the pets being older.

Speaker 6 (01:03:17):
She was like, the only reason I'm saying She was like,
I'm a catch, I'm fit, I'm fun I'm funny, I'm beautiful.
The reason I'm single is because I'm old and I
can't hit, you know, in this in an aged country.
But I was like, when the moment you said the
reason I'm single, I was like, oh, we all know
for the reason. And you know, people like I've got
a few friends that are like eternally single against their will, and.

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Sometimes you just gotta reflect. You just reflect, like why
am I single? And this is what I want to
ask our listeners.

Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
This morning comes of text messages to get things please, Okay,
I'm single because it's easier. I have a child and
two dogs to tie you up after the man hardly helped.
So I feel like I'm down in liability.

Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Liability. Yes, I have some fun times in there.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
But a service, so to speak, chicken the old warrant furnace,
every one hundred thousand, caves, every fifty, every ten, every
ten thousand.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Ten kilometers. I need a little service.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Because it's actually hard to find someone you're physically and
emotionally attracted, you with similar morals and values.

Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
It is hard. It's very hard. People just annoy me.

Speaker 9 (01:04:24):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
I'm like happy you single, it's happy being like doing
my own thing, do you know?

Speaker 6 (01:04:30):
I was trying to find a joke to be like,
but like, it's also how awesome because I think that
that's that's a societal kind of construct I guess of
being like, oh, you want someone, you want a relationship.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
You're like, no, I'm happy.

Speaker 6 (01:04:43):
Well, but you must miss the physical stuff, the physical
side of a relationship.

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
Yeah, when you felt a loving touch.

Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
We're adults, you know, and sexuality and sex is very
important to life.

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Of course, you must be in a solid you must
be Yeah, you must be really sorry that you're going
that you have gone without for so long.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Yeah, thanks, thanks eight hundred dollars at him. We want
to ask now and you can take through nine six nine.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
Six, be honest with us. Why do you think you're single?

Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
We asked this on Instagram storm and the responses I
snore everything will be going well until I stay over,
and then the text stoppings free too.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
I just started the last year welcome, it's trendy. I
was trying to make a cool thing to be single.

Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
I'm trying to keep up with how much the gays
are living. Yeah, dude, I try to explain well the
straits you see, for for generations and generations millennia have
been tying themselves to one person or trying to with
the occasional slip up the gaze.

Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
However, there's a box that little fixed there.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
The gays have been living out there living. I was like,
I'm going to try to live like the gays. Can't
get that as a woman who definitely tried that. Yes,
it's a lot, it's a different sort of fitness your mouth.

Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Apologize to the listener. I am sorry, listener. I saw
an opportunity when it was a different sort of fitness,
and I just had to say, based off the old
joke about I'm doing fitness and fitting orders cake in
my mouth.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Another joke doesn't make it any better, and I'm full
of regret.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Yes, the more messages, someone said, I've got high standards
that I don't even look up to.

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
I think I'm too hot for other people. Yeah, I
get that as a show, we get there, we feel
that deeper.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
I low y hate me and haven't managed to gaslight
myself into being a lesbian yet.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Give it a go.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
It's super fun. Really, it's great. Women of the best,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Okay, okay, because I want to be single. I ain't
got time for anybody else as shit. I got time
for my own.

Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
Happily single people. That's the best. That's yeaheah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:07:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
I'm thirty six and I've always had relationships. I'm over
and even the good relationships have challenges. Being alone is amazing. Absolutely,
love my own company and doing what I want all
the time.

Speaker 17 (01:07:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
Some people just don't like their own company or they
don't like being single, and this is not for them.
Sometimes in the quiet, the voices start talking. That's you.

Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
It's actually yeah, that's when your voice memos for fifteen minutes.

Speaker 11 (01:07:29):
Yeah, and I'm I'm gotta keep busy because the voices
start talking to me again.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Keep your tanks coming A nine six nine sex one
hundred dollars it in.

Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
Why do you think you're single?

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Stuve?

Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
But I'm single, forty two year old dad, and the
reason why I'm single is I'm just not looking for
anyone since my divorce eleven years ago. You're right, just
happy being single, happy being single?

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
You just like post divorce still making you feel not
after eleven years.

Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
Eleven years good.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
I'm not single, but I should be able understand how
my husband puts up with my neurodivergent menopause or raging personality.
I don't even like my cycle, let the south, let alone.
How I understand? And I could be loved by anybody.

Speaker 17 (01:08:08):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
I think I feel that so deeply.

Speaker 6 (01:08:11):
I've been loved by multiple people, and sometimes I'm like,
I wouldn't myself, but I don't have to deal with myself.
I am myself.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
My standards are too high, and every time I meet
someone who I think has potential.

Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
I get the eck way too easily. Then it's just
game over. Yeah, it's scary. I don't like living the house.
It's a short and simple one. He's going well until
they use.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
The wrong they're there or you're your and you're like,
I think that's why I'm also single.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
I guess what I've seen on the way over and
you're like, oh, oh, I don't know, you'll see the way.
I'm still slept with nine and tens that are like,
you know, terrible.

Speaker 6 (01:08:49):
Oh yeah, there are some absolute hot dumbos, yeah for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Yeah, past cards, but you're not gonna be with them.
He's still word to be honest. No, oh no, I mean,
how hod are we talking? I'm too much of an impath.
I care too much for my own good and it's
never reciprocated to the level. So I've decided not to
bother for a while.

Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
You just made a good match.

Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
Yeah you know, I'm single because it took me in
my entire twenties to sort my shit out with some
good therapy. I wasn't really to be a good partner
or choose the right partner, how open and honestly being
so nice.

Speaker 6 (01:09:26):
I like people admitting to themselves. Stephen here, he's back,
just happy being single.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:09:32):
Yeah, I like people that reflect, and I'm not in
a place to be a good partner and do some
work on themselves. It's bold, it's sexy.

Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
I'm content and happy this way.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
I have other priorities in life, and a partner relationship
would be hard work, especially when I have many relationships
like friends and family that provide me with all the
love I need.

Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Friends and framary friends. Friends and framary friends and fram
you lose it. Also, it's called a satisfy aprode. Do
you know what I mean? It's got everything else, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
They said in regarding the physical aspect, I reckon. I
had enough of that in my youth that my quote
has been met cup full, the cup spent full. It's
a different game when you get older, though, Yeah, you
should try it. I'm not here to tell you what
to do, but I think on behalf of the show.

Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Try it again. You reckon. It's fun.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Yeah, Oh, it's the most fun. It's the most name
something that's funner. Rainbows and hydro slides are up there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
Yeah, they are not wrong. Well, think sex and sex.
What's better? Than sex. Just missa Jim, You're Stevens Getting Later.

Speaker 7 (01:10:33):
DNN podcast Network plays that ends Flesh one and Haley fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
A recent study out of America, fifty two percent of professionals,
people working and professional jobs, regret what they studied.

Speaker 3 (01:10:45):
They regret doing their degree.

Speaker 6 (01:10:47):
Yeah, I've definitely got lots of friends that we talked
about this a bit earlier.

Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
You sort of just like roll from high school into
UNI and then you're like, what was that. I guess
I do this now, h I guess And there you're
like I'm still doing this.

Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:10:58):
Or you know, you went all in on a business
degree or something really hard like medicine or and then
you realize you want to be a painter or something.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
You know, Yeah, and you've wasted all that money in time. Yeah,
you've been creatively stifled.

Speaker 8 (01:11:12):
I know that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
I don't know if there's an isn't there like a
number of four or five or six. You change your
professional your kind of work. The average person already that
many times, many times in their lifetime. But I don't
know if it's because of AI and the changing world.
People are like, well, heck, my job is going to
be like a robot so and so I do regret
my degree, but we are this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Oh we all wish that we studied the trades. If
I had a manual skill that was useful. Yeah, rather
than any capitals out there and make some noise. I mean,
what ridiculous? Do you know what I mean? It's not
powerful to the world. You could have been a trade
by day, comedian by night. How hot is that? Yeah,

(01:11:52):
it's hot stuff. You run a late you rock straight up.
This study out of.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
America, fifty two percent of people regret their college to go.
I asked, how quick a little pole, do you regret
what you studied? Only twenty nine percent of people said yees.
Seventy one percent of people said no.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Twenty thousand dollars, says Laura for a journalism degree I
never used and spent eighteen years paying off. Now I'm
training to be a midwife. Oh yeah, missus d sis.
I'm currently still studying and it's six months into my
final year and I can't be having any regrets now.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
I'll talk to here later.

Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
We haven't used it, but spent two years learning about
and spending time in scuba diving in the ocean.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
Best two years ever, whoa, yes, go work somewhere in
the Bahamas.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Yeah. Man, And my not sensible undergrad from Danielle was
studying archaeology. That was a degree in digging holes. My
sensible masters, however, studied engineering business management, and that pays
the bills.

Speaker 14 (01:12:48):
Oh wow, So sometimes some jobs can just pay the bills.
They don't have to pay a passion. But yeah, accept
it as an English major. Second semester. They got rid
of it as a major and forced me to switch
to the liberal arts. So you're regretting that because you
kind of got what are the liberal arts versus what
the conservative arts? I don't know, I don't know what
the dark arts?

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
I mean, Nancy arts.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
You want to get that's art in this time, you know,
with what we've got ahead of us, I think the
dark arts would have been the best arts.

Speaker 17 (01:13:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
I studied history. It was fine, and my job isn't bad.
But good lord, what a useless degree. Let me save
your life with this description of Paris drying the occupation.

Speaker 17 (01:13:22):
Dude.

Speaker 6 (01:13:22):
So this is my best friend who've got a classics degree,
and I was always like, so, what are you going
to be? Like an archaeologist or like a historian. She
was like, probably just one of those like forever students.
She pays my payroll now, but like really like classics.
You're like, yeah, like history, like history has happened, you
teach it, you teach it. Yeah, for sure if you

(01:13:42):
want to teach it. Yeah, I get that, says did zoology.
And now I'm a zoo keeper. So death's noragots.

Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Yeah that's cool, I am.

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
I started setting at twenty six, so I actually knew
what I wanted to do rather than jumping into it
straight out of high school because I had friends that
went to union did like two or three different things
and don't even work in any of them.

Speaker 6 (01:14:00):
Now, liberal arts can mean language, philosophy, literature, abstract science.

Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
It's quite a broad thing. Philosophy, science, science was pretty
that's what you're think. Well, I mean, I'm not one
to speak. I'm a man, a master of the dark arts.

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Nursing, says Ali Enough said, maybe I'm not even a
turn in my own horn. Thank me for my service,
please flex, but also, by while we're here, thank you,
thank you for I encourage anyone I love or care
about to become a nurse. I've been working for seven
years and with the increasing expectations, constant presser and stress,
poor working conditions, shift workers all too much for some days.
I moved to Melbourne for a better pain working conditions.

(01:14:38):
The grass is a bit greener. But I wouldn't study
nursing again if I.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Got to redo.

Speaker 6 (01:14:42):
Someone just text and I love this. I had a
mate who started training as a forensic scientist. Now that's
a big bad degree.

Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
You remember when we talked to that guy. Oh my god, no,
who had the block that was so fascinating the.

Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
Blood never yes, terrible, Sorry if I've mist quoted that.

Speaker 6 (01:14:56):
How to make who started training as a forensic scientist
came out of the closet, became an hostess slash trolley dolly,
happiest I've ever seen them, lovely.

Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
How are you flying around?

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
You're like, we've got a food stain on the seat. Yeah, Gareth,
come sort this out.

Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
Yeah, look at that. Let's get to the bottom of
that stain. Yeah, looks like the fish.

Speaker 6 (01:15:16):
Doing a history degree is important for transferable skills research. No,
critical thinking and forming arguments very useful in real life,
says Rachel. Someone just sixty because I think I might
have just belittle to history degrees.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
It's good to know. Well, Hailey just thought it was like,
I don't know, teaching people about World War I. I
can't even remember last.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Week needwork plays it ends flesh forn and Haley.

Speaker 6 (01:15:38):
Okay, a message and to kick us off from what
was the dumb injury? I got smacked over the head
by a chunky jim Bean bottle because I turned down
a drunk go It was definitely not the three friend
I thought she was.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Wow, oh god, So the reason we ask how did
you get a dumb injury? Or what was the dumb injury? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
Wine hundred? Does it in nine sex? Nine sex? By
the way, Holy shit, that top text? Oh my god,
you read that form.

Speaker 6 (01:16:04):
So the reason we're asking this is because of something
so much smaller than that top text. Oh my god,
that's just It was just a funny video of a
girl doing polages with a resistance band and then she like.

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
You love this because this has happened to me at
the gym. You know you can use a resistance band
to help you do polaups. Yeah, I used that and
it slipped off and the giant rubber band and the ball.

Speaker 6 (01:16:26):
Yeah, well she's got her foot in one like this
and she's leaning back and it comes back and gets
her right the face.

Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
Okay, so this is what we want now on one
hundred dollars at him nine six nine sex, What was
your dumb injury and you did it to yourself?

Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
This is great. Well let's start the ball rolling.

Speaker 8 (01:16:46):
Did you no?

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
You go sorry?

Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
I'm going to I'm going to do that text that
Hailey was shocked at dumb injury? Was I scalped myself?
I took my seat belt off before the car had stopped,
and the car was still going and we drove into
a lamp post and he just went forward and hit
the w Yeah. I got my friends to pull me down.
Buy my shirt on a flying Fox for extra speed.

(01:17:08):
I hit the end and when I hit the end,
I let go and I went flying and I snapped
from my wrist when I landed. That was a bit dumb.

Speaker 6 (01:17:14):
My husband spilt my last glass of chilled wine on
the carpet.

Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
I love a chilled wine.

Speaker 6 (01:17:19):
Now I went to flick them with my middle finger,
just like let you know, yeah, a bomb like that,
I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
I tried to power up too much and I pulled
the tendon on the top of my hand.

Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Oh god, well that on, teacher, teacher, we want to
know how you injured yourself in a dumb way because
a girl was doing pilates had one of those resistance
bands and it smacked her in the face.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
Yeah she's fine, Yeah she's not blind.

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
I broke my knee twisting around to give him a
baby A dummy. I had to have surgery and everything, Brocat.
I remember I ran over the road and slides and
it was a little bit wet and I was trying
to be careful, but I like pulled my calf muscle,
just like doing it like a half.

Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Run across the road. Like when you injured, you just feel.

Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
So dumb old do anything, Catherine, How did you injure
yourself in a dumb way?

Speaker 9 (01:18:12):
More name.

Speaker 17 (01:18:14):
So silly?

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Silly.

Speaker 17 (01:18:15):
I had a few cocktails at a lovely restaurant in
Wellington and came out and there was a top top
there and I thought, yeah, no the top top outside
master coms.

Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Like it is very dignitous.

Speaker 17 (01:18:31):
So I thought I could get a really cute photo
on that. So I started climbing on and it moved
and my husband said, that's not very stable. Catherine.

Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Oh I used your full name. He used your full name.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
You've been Tom's stable, you know what? You like?

Speaker 14 (01:18:48):
What it was?

Speaker 17 (01:18:49):
So I caught my heel as I was coming down,
and then I sort of like sat fully down on
abut and I broke to Vertebray.

Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
In my back.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Fine, it wasn't very Now what did your husband say
when you're in a and e U or like who's
done a cook around the break his spine? A little
bit more modern?

Speaker 17 (01:19:19):
It probably was a bit more while ago.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Yeah, right, oh that's so good. Okay, do you behave
yourself now after a couple of cocktails?

Speaker 9 (01:19:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (01:19:29):
The children seem to think I'm a little bit clumsy
and I should be a bit more careful, so you know,
put a lot of PreCure on me not to put.

Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
Myself in those kinds of positions.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
It's a long weekend that gives you more time for
a couple of cocktails. So we'll ask you to tread
lightly and be careful. Just stay around Catherine.

Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
Thank you, Alex. What was your dumb injury?

Speaker 16 (01:19:47):
Well, so I've been told Haley you've got a bit
of a fear of.

Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
Moths, so big let's call them flying bugs.

Speaker 16 (01:19:57):
I was having a little bit of late night study
session at the door open, and Moss sort of started flying.

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
Around the flying back a flying back, Alex, you've got
you tell the boys, You tell the boy.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
Like for the listener, she physically winces and uh and
space she's got a check.

Speaker 3 (01:20:17):
Yeah. OK So anyway, when flying it.

Speaker 16 (01:20:22):
Sort of had a small lapse of judgment and as
it started flying around my face, I sort of punched
myself square in the face I caught.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
I gave myself a broken nose, broke a couple of shiners.
We'll say something Hailey would do.

Speaker 6 (01:20:41):
I think if that was that close by any means
necessary that things so good, Alex, have.

Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
A great long weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
Some messages got cast by my toilet by my toddler
old toilet training. I was wiping her and of course
I was around wiping, and she turned around and slammed
down the very old.

Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
School toilet seat on the back of my head.

Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
Then I fell and I smashed my head on the toilet,
slumped onto the ground, not looking good. Some of those
heavy when people have a heavy toilet lid, I'm always like,
what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:21:11):
It's just it's on the They used to that's how
they just used to be though.

Speaker 9 (01:21:15):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
