Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast network. It's Fleechborn and Haley's it's
a little bit of pod Welcome to a little bit
of Pond and Vaughn's happening. What's happening?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hailey is joining No, no, no, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Sure Hailey's joining me in buying clip clop shoes for
the cycle classes at the gym.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Love me still, love me still listen.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Listen here after and I tell you what after. Haley
has given me so much shit over the years. I
don't mind clip clop shoes if you're on the bike
on the open road. What's what's the difference there to
recycle trucks and corners. It's not about trucks and it's
about trucks and corners and white lines. Yeah, no, I

(00:45):
can see it. I can see it. Please don't wear
them into the gym. Embarrassed the gym bag be really embarrassing.
Personal show.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
This is the thing is like my sneakers are just sneakers,
like normal sneakers, and they're kind of fleeted, like most
gym shoes have a good grip on them. That kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Especially now like gym shoes like all the cool shoes
have big.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Sole soles and stuff, and I like the way they lock.
And when you got clip clock shoes because you were
doing so many spin classes, I was so embarrassed, and
every time I would do a spin class with you,
I was so embarrassed watching you laps slip out of
your gym shoes and put these awful things on. And
then I've been doing spin classes more frequently in the
last month or two. Well, I just you know, I

(01:27):
did let out that I am getting hot, and it's spam.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I have been receiving messages from people saying thanks fill
the heads up.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah for sure. Yeah, And I just I just remember
how much I love it. And I've just each time
been struggling with my fucking shoes in the spin bike
and being.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Like, because you're and you've got to like strap them
in and then really crank. And then it's still not
crank that soldier boy.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
You crank that soldier boy.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
That's exactly what I was going to say songs about.
I wasn't going to say, crank the harness down to
lock on your shoes.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I know, you crank the soldier And sometimes my toes
get numb as a result of the crankers and so
at the end of the class, it's not comfortable, and
I just I don't know. I just looked down at
your fucking god awful clipped shoes and how you just
clicked in and on and I just thought, yeah, I

(02:20):
don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
But I did find Haley some nice Adidas.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, like not so.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
And only you know, terrible and not expensive. They were
on sale. They were like fifty percent off.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, they weren't bad because nobody wants to buy those.
It's so ugly.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
I just don't know if I can be that woman,
you know, I just don't.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Right, But the thing is you could carry them into
the class in a bag, so no one at the
gym knew.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
They're just still awful. They're still on my fat Yeah,
they're so slim and and so.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's not you, it is. Well, anyway, I'm glad that
you've come over to team me.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I don't know yet.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Listen, I don't wear like I'm not one of those
embarrassing cycle people.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
No, no, no, no, I'm.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Not wearing light cREL we T shirt and short and
then just clip clop shoes. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Comfort.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
This is like a real like moment in life for
me is this where I tip over, especially.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Now that you're thirty six. Yeah, exactly, like you're not
calling anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Nah, I'm irrelevant, i'm old, i'm washed up, and now
I've got clip clop shoes for a more enjoyable ride.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
