Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast network.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's Fleechborn and Hayley's a little bit of pod.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Welcome to a little bit of pod.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Where do I start?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I like many waiting with baited breath to see what's
the story with the couch that you waited thirteen months
or a replacement for that already you're not happy with.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
I will say, like, if you've missed the couch saga,
a quick summary. I indulge in an expensive couch from
a reputable Australian brand, YEP, and it was a true
piece that I thought I would have for years ten.
I thought, you know, I really wanted to live in
this couch. It had a broken back, and I thought,
that's fine. It happens. Sometimes. I'll get a replacement for

(00:43):
a faulty thing thirteen months later, and on the ars
end of the worst customer service I've ever received in
my life, ever, full stop, ever, the new couch finally
arrived last week.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Okay, it's away.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I get a photo from Patsy a of the cauch
and it looks fine. Right When I went to go
get the replacement, they didn't have the exact same fabric
that I had, But it was like here's the other
navy blue one we have, and it's close enough, and
I said that matches. We'll go with that fabric. It
arrives yesterday as you. As I mentioned in yesterday's a

(01:22):
Little Bit of Pod, we were sitting on the floor
having some drinks and sing alongs, me and my family
as we want to do, and I was lying on
the rug when I notice these shabby little metal bits
hanging out of the bottom of the couch where they're
not supposed to be. It's a modular couch, and they
had these little bits that spin out and click together

(01:44):
so that the thing stays there. Got those yeah, yeah, yeah,
but they're only supposed to be in the parts for
the right configuration. So like I've got a little Chai's
Ottoman bit and it's on the right hand side, and
then I'm looking at the left hand but and it's
got these middle bits for a chase, which means they've
actually given me the wrong fucking part, so they would

(02:05):
be the wrong orientation of couch. They've given me a
left hand one rather than the right hand one. How
did you notice?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
How did you notice?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Because I'm on the ground and I can see the
little middle bits sitting there.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
It looks fine.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
No it's not, because I can see these little middle
bits sticking out of the bottom. You would click in
the ottoman, but I'm not because it's supposed to be
clicking on the other.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Side on November December. So January twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I could get the new one.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
January twenty twenty seven. That's fine. Because I look at
this and I was like, oh my god. I was like,
just annoys me because it's an expensive couch. I've waited
this long, worst customers, and it's not right.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Principle and up again, yeah, and it is just and
I was like, oh my god. Then I was like, well,
hang on, and I just had a quick flip up
and I was like, oh, there's bolt so I'll be
able to undo those yeah, and I'll screw it into
the other side to everybody there. Fuck up, that's fine,
I am not doing another thirteen months. Then I realize

(03:05):
I've been so busy i haven't actually sat on this couch.
And the last couch so comfortable, lovely, soft linen and
just love it, fall asleep on all the time. So
I was like, man, I've just been sitting on the
floor or my parents have been enjoying the couch. So
I'll go on in the arm chet. And I was like,
I have a little laid down on the couch. The

(03:25):
moment that fabric touches my skin, we have a problem.
I fuck me. It mentioned I couldn't get the same fabric,
so I got the closest one too. I have sensitive skin,
so things like Swan drys or woolen blankets or particular

(03:46):
fabrics will instantly make my skin crawl. The moment this
fabric touches my skin, it feels like a Hessian sack,
a large, itchy, uncomfortable, irritable, gonna give me a rash,
multi thousand dollars Hessian log of shit. I don't even

(04:12):
want to sit on it, and I have sensitive skin.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
But I was like.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Patsy and Craigs anything.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
She was like, yeah, I notice it's a bit rough,
but they don't have the sensitive skin that I've got.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
You might need to put a towel.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
So here's the solution. Mom's like, you've got to get
yourself a soft linen throat. And every time you want
to sit on the couch, which I'll say is every
fucking day, is every fucking day I want to sit
on that couch. I'll get it out and lay a

(04:45):
soft cloth. My skin can handle this Hessian.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Log.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
That's what parents do for their cats and dogs on
the couch.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
My mom does that.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
She put a little pillow case.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Song. Yeah ye stop he again.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
The cat will just put put too much hair on,
you know.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
And the thought of emailing.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Animals, the furniture, the thought.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Of emailing this company one more time. It's like my skin.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
To de You chose a fabric that's on you.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, but they should have said, you know whatever. The
name of the fabricas in Midnight Brackets feels like scratchy
fucking men stubble crawling up your skin. It will make
you so irritated you never want to sit on it.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
So last you've complained about sitting on something that feels
like men's double, well.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
That's where I have to sit instead of sitting on
the couch. Jesus Christ, Ding, ding ding, come on over
and I want to watch TV.
