Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast network. It's Fleetborn and Hayley's it's
a little bit of pod. Welcome to a little bit
of pod.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
To not tell my mother that I am telling you.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
This, okay, she said to me, nothing approved. I'm sure
she'll tell people, but I think to have an embarrass
that I'm sharing this with our zendim putty fam.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Fam will keep it to themselves.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Your ski, come on, be good.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
So my parents, for the last three years overseas have
done the Spanish Camino, you know, the big pilgrimage walk
and you walk and you think and that kind of stuff.
But my parents, who are sixty five years old, have
done it in chunks and they're finishing the last bit
that they haven't done before on this trip. They're currently
on it having a great time, like it's great. You

(00:47):
just walk and talk and they listen to music and Stuart.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
And then there'll be a little village.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah, village is along the road, they stated at a
twenty euro place that you know, like they're just loving it.
So Mom messaged me and she said, oh, we're going
great guards. You know, they've got their packs on before
the New Zealand flags that if they see any other keywis.
Then they've got their walking poles and all the things cute.
They're having a lovely time, loving seeing the photos. And
then Mom said, oh my god, we beat our own record.

(01:14):
We did twenty eight kilometers today. And I said, well,
that's great. Their goal was to do at least twenty
a day. Wow, So they're not like pushing up pushing
because some people just walking, walking, walk until they dropped
it twenty a day. And she did what we did
twenty eight and I said, oh, got on here. She said, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
It was having a couple of wines. Having a couple of.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Wines and then we're going to go to bed early
and we'll wake up early and hit the road before
the sun.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
It's fucking hot over there at the moment. I think
a couple of wines must have turned into a fair
few wines between Patsy and Craig woke up the next
morning and Mom said, oh, we slept in and I
was like, oh gosh.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
And then I messaged and touched base with her later
in the day and I said, how's the walk going,
and she said, oh, well, you know, we were quite sore.
We're sort of sore in the back and sort of
tight legs. So we've sort of spent the day around
this little village exploring, and we're just going to catch
the bus to the next door. And I was like, wait,

(02:07):
you could bus you She was like, well, it's a
bloody you know, seven hour walk, or you know it's
a twenty minute bus.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Right because they've got their accommodation in the next place.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
That's the Camino.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Like that's the point of it, I know, but you know,
it's this long to walk, this long to catch a bus.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I was like, we wanted just like a bus the
whole way through.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I couldn't. I couldn't, like a little bit, nuts that
I've done all that walk, grunted they've done on.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
The stages, but just that little bit, I'd be like,
I take us back. I know that's a little bit there,
I think because they've broken. If you were doing the
full Camino totally, it'd be like, no, I've got to
walk this whole thing.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
But they've done.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Little chunks and they've misbits here and there and left
early at one bit, and you know they're just sort
of enjoying the steps. But I just love that they
had a few wines and instead of spent the morning
having a nice coffee and a and a pastry and
a little look around a village and then caught the bus.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Why not.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I'm just looking at how long it takes a full
French way Camino franceais Yes, seven hundred and seventy to
seven hundred and ninety kilometers. Wow. Yeah, from Saint Jean
Pierre Debut in France to Santiago di Compecela. What does mean?
It doesn't mean? Yeah, is it?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
There's lots of caminos around the world, but this one's
very famous.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
You can do the Portugal one. The origins of the
Camino trail.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
It is like a religious personage.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
It is most people. Yeah, to Santiago is the one
of my parents are on right, I believe. So.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Camino is a Spanish word that translates the path, road route,
or journey.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I mean I'm proud of them for doing it, you know.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
And I'm proud of them for just realizing their limits,
having a cart blee wines instead of just giving the
bus
